Driving through Nampa last night, we opted to have Mexican for dinner. Quickly, I grabbed my phone and Yelped out for Mexican places nearby. This was first on the list and just 3 blocks behind us. We drove up to the place which was completely empty and somewhat dislocated from the downtown area. Being brave souls, we parked and went inside. We were seated quickly (ok, we were the only ones here) by a nice young man, and a lady took our drink order immediately. Not 100% sure, but believe this is a family affair here. My wife and I found our favorite dishes on the menu, so we ordered them to compare to others. I can say without a doubt that this place does a fine job. Others were soon dining around us, and I even heard by conversation that many were regulars. Always a good sign to have that many regulars. My only complaint, and it's a personal preference to me, is that salsa should not be a liquid with the veggies. It should be the equivalent to dip for a potato chip - stick in the chip and the salsa sticks! It was tasty and had a good kick, but just too runny for my pleasure. This, however, would not stop me from eating here again.

The food was decent at best, I had the burrito colorado and found the sauce to be not very flavorful, and the burrito on the whole to be a disappointment. It lacked flavor and spice. My companion had the vegi burrito and it too was lacking in many regards. I would have expected some fajita veggies in a vegetarian burrito, but mostly it was beans, carrots and rice.

A delightful hole in the wall restaurant off the beaten path in Nampa. Next to a tattoo shop. Delicious guacamole. My tacos were great. Don't be put off by the looks. This is a good place.

This restaurant is what happens when you forgo dumping your money into decor, and you actually focus on quality, delicious, homemade food. Both times I've eaten here were AMAZING. We ordered the house platter which is gigantic and cheap. It has fresh handrolled taquitos, and flautas with the yummiest white meat chicken. It has groundbeef chimichangas (as a groundbeef skeptic) -- this was the best Mexican groundbeef I've ever tasted, hands down! Then of course quesadilla slices. It's also got fresh guacamole with seasonings and chopped tomato and a dollop of crema, and grated cheese sprinkled everywhere. I would easily trade out Ruth Chris or Matador to have this restaurant downtown. Sadly, this middle-aged couple will likely never have the means to move their operation to my hood :( I feel like the luckiest Foodie in the world to be one of the few who treasure this place....the place is truly a hole in the wall, it's ugly, but I LOVE the freaking menu! Believe it.

We love supporting local, saw this little place in downtown Nampa and decided to try it out. Had the roll tacos and shrimp cocktail, overall food was good. Would have love to have more shrimp on the cocktail, the tacos were very good. Chips/beans and salsa were good but we're not refilled or asked if we wanted more. Will probably be back to try other things on their menu

We were pleased with our meal and the service was good. I'm not sure what is missing, maybe more customers for a livelier ambience. I had a tasty shrimp dish and they were generous with the portion. My husband enjoyed his food a bit less than I did, but he ordered an appetizer as a meal. Our friend ordered a chile relleno that look delicious. I'm looking forward to going back to try one and a margarita. Sure beats other places I've tried in Nampa.

Good food, lunch specials every day, cold imported and domestic beer in frosty mugs! Cute cheery decor. We are making our way through their menu. The food is fresh and not at all greasy.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
