We were immediately seated on the porch seating with great views of the lake. The service was fast and friendly. Started with the queso dip and calamari. Loved the spicy Sriracha sauce and the perfectly-cooked calamari. Queso dip was salty and a bit spicy, which explained the unsalted pretzels served along side. The food came out fast! If you want to relax, you might want to order after apps. I had the jambalaya and my sweetheart the peppercorn steak. Mine was delicious and I kept stealing from my husband's plate. His steak was a bit spicy, so it slowed him down but not to the point where he couldn't finish. 10-year old had the mac-n-cheese and devoured the whole thing despite saying the fruit snacks were too young for her. Good relaxed atmosphere, pleasant views, and great service will definitely bring us back.

The wife and I Vacation to Idaho every couple of years. We visited lou's on 7-22-2015. The atmosphere was great we had small children with us so we sat inside. The entire outside was packed.. the food was great.. took a while to get considered our waitress made us wait for 20 mins EASY to take just our drink order. But I insisted she take our food order and she insisted drinks first then she came 5 mins later for our food order. Food 5 stars..... price 4 stars.... my waitress NEGATIVE STARS

This was the most amazing Smoked Prime Rib French Dip I have ever tasted! My favorite sandwich is a french dip and this surpassed all!

Waited way too long to be seated and were pretty much ignored after that. Wait staff seemed poorly trained. Left without eating.

What a surprise. The decor is all 'cabin' wood furniture. This is a sports bar with TVs available for viewing from every seat in the house. We had the barbequed bison ribs, at the suggestion of the waitress, and they were fantastic - so soft and tender and perfectly seasoned.

This beautiful lakefront restaurant featured amazing views and good food. I had the smoked prime rib and it was cooked well and to the doneness I had requested. The Idaho potato skins were the best that I have ever had and the horseradish mashed potatoes were subtle and delicious. The clam chowder was my second side and this too was good. I stole some bites from others and would also recommend the bison ribs and grown up Mac and cheese. All the food was very well done and my only critique is that I wish they offered a few dishes that tie in to the local fare. Alaskan salmon so close to the Colombia river feels a bit like a missed opportunity. Overall a great family friendly place.

My family stopped by this waterfront restaurant, on a hunch from the owner of the house where we stayed who had heard they were good. We were staying in Hope on our family vacation. While we ate there, I tried to give it a five star rating on Yelp, but was surprised it had no Yelp entry where I could review it. I had to wait until I got home to my computer to write this, and add the entry. I remembered to do it. That's how much I liked this place. The food and service were as good as it gets in this price range. No waitstaff person passed us without checking on us. The cobb salad and sandwiches were perfect, with no skimping on any toppings. The kids loved their mini-cheeseburgers and fries. They also tried fry sauce for the first time and ate it up. To top it off, they served Laughing Dog beer! Afterward, we walked the dock and skipped rocks on beautiful Lake Pend Oreille. I can't wait to visit again because it far exceeded our expectations. What a friendly staff. Perfect family restaurant.
