DELICIOUS!! I attending a wedding in Nampa on 6/28/13 that was catered by A Lively Chef and have to give their food and staff 5 stars. The staff was very professional, kind, and attentive to the needs of the guests on a scorching 104 degree day. Plus, the food was OUTSTANDING! We were given the choice of Homemade Lasagna or Parmesan Artichoke Stuffed Chicken Breast with Roasted Garlic Cream Sauce alongside Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Green Bean Almondine, Salad, and Bread. I had the chicken, which I thought was AMAZING because I LOVE cheese and artichoke, so I was in Heaven. The mashed potatoes were delicious and the green beans had a nice crisp to them. Those who had the lasagna said it was delicious as well. Everything was excellent. I have never discussed the food at a wedding with fellow guests the next day, but we were all raving about how fantastic it was. I've already recommended A Lively Chef to someone else planning a wedding for next year. YUM YUM YUM!
This catering company is absolutely amazing. They did our food food my reception at the Boise Train Depot and every one on their team was tremendously professional and flexible. The food was delicious and we have had so many incredible compliments about every single item served. They eased my worries about the food, presentation and took control of things I needed help with. I am so incredibly satisfied and happy with the way everything turned out and I will forever recommend them to every person I know looking for catering in the Boise Area. They are a top notch team.
We had an incredible experience with A Lively Chef from START to FINISH. Every one of the staff members that we worked with was professional, responsive, and so easy and fun to work with. I would recommend them for any event - big or small. They go out of their way to ensure that everything is covered and made sure to follow up if something goes unanswered. We received numerous rave reviews about the food, the way it tasted and the presentation. We are so happy with the way everything turned out and would use them again in a heartbeat! Shari, Dee and Gary were all fabulous!

I love myself a good sandwich place, and this is BY FAR the best deli around. Actually, it's the best sandwich I've ever had in my life. Ever. Period. I used to work right across the street from this place and would go there at least twice a week. Never got tired of it. We don't make it out there as often as we'd like now (a bit of a drive from Meridian), but every time we go it's just as good as ever. I always order the Frank Sinatra, and it is simply marvelous. Honestly, it's the perfect sandwich. Their meats are delicious and that balsamic vinegar they use is just a thin slice of heaven. In fact, I'm pretty sure these are the only sandwiches that will be served in heaven. Check this place out. The guy who runs it is a real New Yorker and a way nice guy. I once asked him what made him want to open up a sandwich place here and his answer was "well, I figured I could do it better than anyone else could." And he was right!
My favorite place to order in for the night! The food is to die for, and the workers are so friendly. Also, don't know how they do it, but they get to my house in under ten minutes with my food. Booooyahhhh, Jimmy Johns! :)
This is the real deal! Top quality meats, the right bread and the balsamic soaked toppings are amazing. I haven't had anything like this since leaving Jersey years ago

I really like this Wendy's. It's never very busy and the food quality is same as most Wendy's. If you're in the area and have a Wendy's craving, definitely check this place out!

Good price for a lot of food. Great Chinese/American food for Boise. Very friendly wait staff
Tastes really good, but the presentation needs some work. Prices are reasonable 6-10 per person
Very good food. Nice staff. Best Chinese in Idaho so far in 1.5 years I've been here!

They have changed their menu and now have fantastic cooks. The food is amazing and well priced. The drinks are dirt cheap. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Oh did I mention how much better the food is..... :-)
Love my night caps at the Ranch Club! The best music in town, everyone is dancing and having a good time. The bar is stocked with games like pool, darts, horseshoes, and Idaho Lottery!!! Are you feelin' lucky? If you can get past the smoke, you can have a memorable not-so memorable time at the Ranch Club.
Always have a great time playing pool and listening to the DJ's here. The only drawback is you can smoke in this bar, so wear some throw away clothes because they might not come back to their normal smell. You can gamble, listen to relevant and old school hip-hop, play pool, play horseshoes and hang out on the patio. Oh and the drinks are more than reasonable. Overall fantastically fun place! Al and the staff are awesome.

My office downtown order delivery. Not only was the service fast and friendly but the food was amazing.
Upon entering for To go service. The menu was confusing and that was with asking questions to order. After more then Half an hour figuring out what you can and can not order. Then when ordering had to spend $55 for 2 family dinners but had to order 2 just to buy it. That means 4 dinners. When getting home there where only 2 dinners, with over cook meat and small sized portions. When referring to the store manager, via phone to confirm our order he gave excuse after excuse. So after a few minutes of trying to clarify all this he decides just to do a refund to avoid issues. Over all my self and 4 others will not be going ever again.
The food is okay from here, but the manager was super disrespectful to me and I asked to talk to the owner and he was the same way. He wouldn't let me talk and didn't even care what had happened. In my opinion people in this business need to be respectful and courteous. I did nothing to be disrespectful. The manager was rude because I ordered delivery and my card got declined. I think young people anymore do not have any cooth or tact. I am just flabbergasted with how I was disrespected from the manager and owner of the restaurant. I will never go back here and anyone I know will not be either. My father is the Vice President of a meat business and I'll make sure he knows about this place. :)

Good $1 tacos that my wife will actually eat. Margaritas were good. The clay bowl things that they sell look awesome, but have flour in them, so I can't eat them.
Only been here one time so far, but it was very good. Service was attentive and friendly, average to above average wait time for dishes. The carne asada was my choice for entree, and it was nicely seasoned and the meat was quite tender and juicy. Would be a 4 star review if I went more often and had the same results. Good grub though overall, recommend a visit or two for sure.
I see here that people think the El Gallo Giros in Garden City and Kuna are related, so I had to chime in. Apart from the name and much of the menu, the Garden City El Gallo Giro has NOTHING to do with the El Gallo Giro in Kuna. Management/ownership is completely different, despite whatever anyone at the Garden City location tells you (and I've read elsewhere that they've previously said the two places are related-- I guess they want to pass themselves off as a more easily available version of Kuna's quality for those on the east end of the valley). Call up the Kuna location and ask the managers if you don't believe me. I don't know which place came first and therefore who's copying whom, but the Kuna location is head and shoulders above this place. The food I had in the two times I've been here (the lengua in a mocaljete and a chili verde burrito) were pale bland comparisons to Kuna. My experiences here were on par with any other Americanized Mexican place that dominates the area. The Kuna location is constantly busy for a reason. And they'll accept the Boise Weekly card (40% off of your meal) while this location won't. Avoid this place and head to Kuna. It is worth the extra driving needed.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit

Reviews:
I never quite know how to rate restaurants using Yelp's star system. As I decided on four stars, I realized I've also given State and Lemp four stars. Hmmm. Anyway, in the category of quick, eat-in or take-out barbecue restaurants, I give Dickey's four stars. I said to my husband when we left that Dickey's exceeded my expectations. Although the employees very awkwardly knew almost nothing about their menu, the giant potato with pulled pork that I ordered was great. The ingredients were a little too clumped together rather than spread evenly on the potato, but it was not too difficult to rearrange. I'm planning to enjoy it again for dinner tonight--Hubs and I might split one next time. His brisket was good, but a little dry. I liked the yellow cups you can take with you (of course I unintentionally threw mine away). Hubs said their sweet tea was good and he's pretty picky about sweet tea. The free ice cream is unique and fun.
I have to say...I DO love the Dickey's BBQ that is out in Meridian! The food is great. However, my experience at this particular Dickey's was not good :( First of all, my boyfriend and I walked in and were not even greeted by blank stares from the high school age kids from behind the counter. They were quietly chatting to each other, we didn't even get a glance. We looked at the menu for a minute and then waited for some kind of recognition from the three employees. Didn't get anything until we walked up to be right in front of their faces and said that we were ready. It's not like we were hard to see or anything, we were the only ones in there! We were then informed that the one thing we both wanted, pulled pork, was completely gone for the day. I was surprised that what I would consider to be a popular item was all gone already! They were still going to be open for a few hours. We were then forced to change our minds which wasn't too difficult as we enjoyed all of the items we got when we had visited the Meridian Dickey's a month or so back. The kids kind of fumbled around getting our food and had to ask each other questions like what goes where etc. We were then informed that they were out of rolls (complimentary with your meal), but would be getting some soon and would bring them to us. I've worked in a restaurant before, and I know that this just means "We were too busy chatting to put any bread in the oven," especially as after about 8 or so minutes (just the right time to warm and brown bread in the oven) they brought us a couple rolls. After we got our food I was so sad! :( I was starving and the portions that we received at this location were pitiful. When we had gone to the Meridian location our plates were incredibly heavy and overflowing with food, so much so that I had some for lunch the next day! I think that is how it should be at a BBQ place, but that is just my opinion. :) One more very petty thing was that I love pickles and at the Meridian location we got a whole one and this location on Glenwood I laughed at the two tiny slices we each got. But that is just me being silly. I was told by a few people that I should contact the manager of that location and let him know about my experience but I hate bugging people for things like that, plus, I remember my managers at the restaurant I used to work at and I knew that he or she most likely just would brush it off and continue with their day. What's the point really. :) Just wanted to warn people! In conclusion: If you want Dickey's BBQ, head over to Meridian!
Welp. This was a surprise. I definitely didn't expect this place to be so good... (no offense, Dickies)... but it was pretty impressive. Portion sizes and prices are reasonable, meat is cooked really well and it didn't need any sauce, though the sauce is pretty good. The brisket is my favorite and I love their baked beans, also I've tried both sausages which were yummy. The husband lives for fried okra and bacon green beans so he is usually happy. The casual dining is actually a bonus for me, so don't expect frills. Oh and... Free soft serve ice cream!! :) The only downfall is the service seems a bit frazzled at times. Also you have to figure out how to politely turn down taking home one more of those dang yellow plastic cups!!!! ;) UPDATE: 5/25/2014 -- from 5 star to 4 -- we still really enjoy their food but their customer service seems to get worse and worse each time we visit. I've yet to visit this location without 1) having to repeat my order no less than 3 times because communication between employees is so terrible and lacking, and 2) having them mess up my order, give me the wrong thing with the wrong sauce, or forget things all together (i.e. order a 3 meat plate for the husband, only get 2 meats but pay for all 3)... it's a shame because it makes going here more frustrating than it is worth. We are still customers but not sure got how long unless the ordering process (or employee skill/training/communication) changes.

It's fast food, what do you expect? Well, they're a little above the rest in my opinion. If you haven't tried the breakfast menu here yet, you need to make some time for it (it's fast food, come on, you have the time). The breakfast burritos are spot on and the burgers are also worth a try. Carls Jr puts a little more effort into their food than the competition. As far as fast food goes, they're pretty farm good.

We had a great experience here. Stopped in for a quick bite to get off Glenwood during 5 o'clock traffic. We ordered three different slices and all were fresh and hot. The service was both friendly and accommodating without being overly-attentive. We will be back!
Love this place! Their Philly cheese steak is a staple and their New York style pizza is delicious! They also have TVs to watch the game on and a decent selection of taps and wines. Staff is friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place!
One of the driest, lack luster, flavorless Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches I have ever had. Hardly any cheese, so the meat was dry as a bone! I was looking forward to trying the Philly here for weeks. What a disappointment. The Italian place down the road makes a much better Philly! On a positive note the fries were good. But We won't return.
