My husband and I just discovered this restaurant and are amazed at how wonderful the food is. The price is a bit high but worth it considering that they are absolutely catering to your desires and will improvise a soup instead of a salad. My husband tried a variety of items on the menu and enjoyed every one. I always stick to my Greek Burger done with a Veggie Patty which is the best I have ever had and we are world travelers. The miso soup which I had was divine and my husband had a broccoli cheese or cream of potato soup which was filling and tasty. They are extremely accommodating and the atmosphere is great. Excellent Menu selection. Once we discovered this restaurant, we went there 3 times in one week then the next week we went back twice in the week. The service: it could speed up a bit but usually a salad or soup comes with the lunch or dinner entree so the timing isn't too bad. An improvement would be speedier service which is no problem to fix since the food is great and the staff is welcoming. We are extremely happy that we discovered WINDINGCREEK GRILL and will be frequenters once we settle in our new home in Eagle. Captain and Mrs. Thornburg

Just okay, would not go out of my way to get here or to avoid. I had the cheesesteak sandwich; okay nothing special. Service was okay

Top notch sushi bar! Josh is an amazing sushi chef! I have never had anything that was not good!! The owner, Scott and his wife are amazing and take care of their customers!! They have a great patio and a nice bar.

The food is just ok. Nothing really special. The customer service the last couple times we were there was terrible. Took 20 minutes just to get some water. The sushi was bad. Do not get it. All you can eat but they only came back two time to reorder.

  • Chris B.

Customer service was very bad on last visit. There was only one other table occupied yet it took 20 minutes to receive sushi order. Order was wrong. Ordered 4 different sushi orderers and waited an extremely long time and each time order was wrong. Waitress Kept saying it was very busy yet there was only one other table the whole time we we're there. One order had sushi still frozen. Yuck.

Just had a very sad experience at winding creek. First off I called in my order because I work nearby and can walk to pick it up. The waitress who answered my call told me to "wait" then helped other customers and talked to coworkers with me still listening on the phone. When she did finally get back to me she could not find what I wanted to order. She then told me that they had a new menu. The new menu is not online. So I tried to order something else- also from the old menu because I still didn't know what was on the new menu. It was not on the new menu but they made it for me anyway. This is why they got one star. Was told it would ready in 20 min. Went 25 min later and still had to wait. There were only 2 tables with people at that time. When they finally brought me my food the waitress answered the phone while still helping me. Such bad manners! I was standing right there ready to pay. They need a hostess. I am a GREAT tipper because I have done this kind of work before. Needless to say, I did not tip this time. And then when I got back to my office there were two spoons and no fork. Can't eat a salad very easily with a spoon. Probably won't be back anytime soon.

This place does everything right. Friendly staff, beautiful patio, killer sushi, a menu with something for everyone, local beers on tap, and reasonable prices. Definitely the best casual dining in the city.

Reasonable Sunday breakfast/lunch prices on limited menu. However, food quality and service average at best.

New ownership. Now called Windingcreek Grill. My wife had the edamame appetizer and they very good. I had the clams-1LB. Very fresh and tasty. For the main course we split the CBLT (Chipolte BLT). It was spicy and very good. They also had an extensive sushi menu and a bar where you could also eat. $50 included 2 beers and 2 glasses of house wine. Service was fast and friendly. We will be back. The only suggestion I would have is that they increase the number or beer & wine choices.

Just got home after waiting over an hour for our food, then after eating, waiting over 30 minutes to pay the check. Food was ok, dishes came out one at a time. Horrible service with no apologies from the server. Won't be going back. The real Willowcreek on Vista is amazing, this one is not.

Absolutely terrible! It took them over an hour to get us our food and when they finally brought out my food it was completely wrong. If it were busy i might cut them a little slack but there were only a handful of other tables. We used to go here all the time we will NEVER be returning. I left hungry never a good sign for a resturant....

You know those places you find that are so special you want to keep it to yourself? This is NOT one of those places. Ever had one of those experiences of visiting a place that gets rave reviews to have it be so lackluster you think you are in the wrong place? This WAS one of those experiences. Even our delightful personality server couldn't save the day to push this above two stars. Although we'd give her five for sure. As example, she asked my husband, "How's your drink?" He replied "Not very good." She said, "My dad likes that cocktail too so I know it doesn't seem mixed right. The color is wrong. Let me take it back to the bar and get you a new one." She was generous, I told him, she could have said "My GRANDFATHER likes that drink too..." (For the record it was a Manhattan. A bad one.) Sadly, the bartender charged us for both drinks even though one was returned. (Yes, we did bring it to her attention and she got the bill corrected.) Poor quality drinks, a marginal wine list, a "free wine tasting" rep circulating on the patio who poured (really bad) Cabernet all over my brand new shoes without even an attempt at apology, a menu that seems confused (they need to choose a lane and drive in it perhas to up their food game as example, sushi on one side of the menu and sandwiches on the other), an OK sushi roll that took forever to come out of the kitchen even on as slow night as it was, just barely OK veggie tempura that was served with a half cup serving of plum sauce that one might find on a bad quality Chinese food buffet. Not even the outdoor patio setting could save it. My "not our thing" review posted, it also needs to be said that there were two or three other tables on the patio who seemed to be regulars and who were having a jolly good time. Different strokes for different folks. Highly unlikely we'd go back. If someone suggested "let's meet at..." here, we'd suggest an alternate. That's my definition for two stars. THIS N THAT: 1) Parking: Private lot. 2) Accessibility: Level in and throughout including to the patio. Some standard seating in the restaurant. Standard seating on the patio. Not one location of accessible seating in the bar. I guess I need to say that violates Federal law and State codes both so folks won't think it is OK to not have it. 3) Libations: The bartender, who showed us to our seats on the patio, handed us a wine listing when we asked if there was a drink list. When we told our waitress we meant a cocktail list she said "that's it". OK then. The bar makes libations but limited options. As example, they could not make my gin gimlet but they could make a gin and tonic with extra lime. Set expectations accordingly.

Lately the sushi is just not fresh. Today it was mushy and strong fishy taste. We couldn't eat it. It's been good in the past but sorry to say no longer

Try the SBLT, and the salads are very fresh with variety. Great time on the patio with a glass of wine. I'm sold!

There have been a lot of sushi places I've been to, but this one is definitely the best. A good sushi roll is definitely hard to find in Eagle, but this is definitely the place to go if you want a good, genuine, but also a work of art piece of sushi.

Nope, it's not Willowcreek anymore, it's BETTER. Great, friendly stafff. If you haven't had sushi here, you are missing out. You won't be disappointed. We will be back.

Ambiance: fair, a little swanky with upscale flavor Food: For the price I was disappointed, I had 2 sushi rolls from RAW. Very mediocre sushi. My wife had the Asian salad. She said she "would have to be desperate to order it again" Price: as I said earlier, for the price I expected more. For 2 sushi rolls and an Asian salad with 2 waters =$37bucks Service: average to poor. We had to interrupt our waitress talking to the hostess after waiting ~10mins for our check I would not recommend this place to a friend

Excellent service with a nice decor. Try the Salmon BLT with fries....YUM!

  • Johnny Idaho O.

Mehhh. Food was okay. Salad was lettuce, a couple cucumber slices, a tablespood of carrot shreds and a fair amount of chicken that lacked any real flavor. If you have a salad on the menu as a lunch or dinner item do something with it, make it unique/diverse/filling. Some folks I was with liked the salmon salad, however, I did not try it.

The food is unique and tasty but sometimes the customer service seems to be in slow motion.

  • Andy M.

This place is kind of weird. It's in the same place with RawSushi, the decor and the music strangely is all eighties, and it resembles kind of an upscale Denny's with upscale pricing. I could see going in for some some sushi, but their menu otherwise seems completely all over the place, with what seems to be a lunch menu, dominated by sandwiches and burgers. In short, I'm not really sure what kind of dining experience this restaurant is trying to deliver, other than charge more for a burger than less fancy places down the block.

Pretty good surroundings and service is average. Food is tasty but it can take a while to reach you after ordering. Food portions are reasonable. A little on the pricey side but otherwise a pretty enjoyable experience.

I don't get the appeal. The food is average at best and the service is consistantly slow. The hostess was wearing cut off shorts and a tshirt. Really??? That's the image you want to promote???

Only been here one time, but we'll be back! This location of Willowcreek Grill (vs. the one in Boise) is really tucked away from our roads usually traveled, but quite a delight discovering that it's convenient coming down from the Boise foothills, being easier and quicker to get to than some places in BoDo, plus having a full bar. We went on an off-hour on Sat. and there was only one other group in the place, but the service was great. I don't know about you, but sometimes few patrons does NOT equate to good service in some establishments. Not so here. We were tended to very well. Menu was very impressive in its variety. Had a hard time choosing, which is another reason I'll be coming back. Today I chose the Portobello Melt which was fantastic. No complaints except the bottom bun got a little soggy in one place due to the honey balsamic glaze. Maybe serve that on the side? Hubby had the Toasted Turkey, and was impressed as well. The fries. Can I talk about the fries?? I took the suggestion of others and got a half 'n half mix of sweet pot. variety vs. regular ("twigs" as W.Grill calls 'em). The chipotle dipping sauce is amazing, and a must with the sw. pot. twigs. What a great combo. I do prefer regular twigs over sw. pots., and that's just a personal thing as I've never really been a fan of sw. pots, except in a casserole. What I love so much about the regular twigs is the double-crisp coating and the mashed-potato consistency of the inside. I would rank them among the top fries I've sampled in Idaho. Granted, I still need to explore since we've lived here less than a year, but as an east coast native living and sampling fries for 40+ years, lemmee tell ya... Idaho has the corner on the market, regardless of being the "Potato State"-- I didn't let that sway me. I just know what I like, and I've not experienced anything like the fries here in Idaho. We took a peek into the lounge area that was on the other side of the bathrooms. That's where they have live music, a sushi bar, and several TVs. That looks like a fun place to hang out! I'd be surprised if it weren't pretty busy tomorrow for the Big Game.

We normally go to the Vista location, but thought we'd try Eagle for a change. We waited over 10 minutes after being seated to even be acknowledged or served water. The restaurant was not full, so I cannot imagine they were that busy. When we were served water, the waitress only brought two glasses when there were three of us. She indicated she was told there were only two, however I watched her walk past us just a few minutes earlier. Food is consistently good, but the menu rarely changes, so we only eat there a couple times a year. I will not return to Eagle, however due to poor service!

Very nice ambiance. Fresh and upbeat. Very friendly servers, and the food was even good too. But, i'm giving only 3 stars because I was SO disappointed with the food portions. I ordered the fish and chips and got like 3 tiny fish portions which total were equivalent in amount to 5 or 6 fish sticks that I would feed my kids at home. I actually laughed when it was handed to me and asked the server if there had been a mistake. She just smiled and said, "no, sorry, it's just small portions." I was angry that they would actually ruin a customer over trying to save a buck on the portion size. Likely will never go back, even though the wife really enjoyed her food (and I will admit the sweet potato fries were fresh and interesting).

I have been here several times - the most recent was the most egregious and the subject of this review. Positives First: Food was cooked well. Nothing special. Beer-battered cod and fries. Good margarita. Negatives: No malt vinegar in the restaurant. :) Come on - battered cod w/ fries and you don't carry malt vinegar? Slow service upon arrival, got better as the evening passed. LOUD-MOUTHED male "bartender" who spoke so loudly and with such disdain to the waitress I was appalled. Her table in the restaurant (on the other side of the building) had ordered doubles. He LOUDLY asked her if they wanted those in two glasses each, proclaiming, "I am not from here and I haven't been in Idaho long enough to know if that is even LEGAL." He proceeded to slam some glasses around, started pouring, then took the half-poured drinks and re-poured them into smaller glasses. When the drinks were ready, the waitress came to get them (there were 3 drinks total) and she asked him for a serving tray and he refused to give her one stating, "I asked you if the wine was for a woman!" She muttered "yes" and he said, "Then just take it to her first and come back for the other drinks." The waitress again tried to ask for and then tried to go get a serving tray stating, "It's better to serve drinks at the same time." (correct!) and he sneered through his teeth very loudly at her again, "JUST TAKE THE WINE AND COME BACK!" Of course, I, being seated at the bar facing this BS and trying to eat, was startled into looking up at them during each of their interactions because he was so loud and aggressive. The next thing I know, he is standing directly in front of me and says, "IS there ANYTHING I can get you?" (Capped words for emphasis where emphasis was made.) This "bartender" spent the rest of the time I was in the establishment sitting at the bar and becoming obnoxiously loud from time to time. Thank goodness my waitress was the other bartender (a lady) who was pleasant and was avoiding the loudmouth throughout her shift. Until the regular bartender comes back from time off, I will not be coming back. I have a lot of other choices for a meal in Eagle when I spend two hours there once per week.

Not as good as the vista branch. Soup was stale and tuna melt was beyond salty. The service was good but the food was bellow average. Won't come back. will drive all the way to the vista branch instead

Tried to go here for Dinner, on a very quiet weeknight, maybe 3 other tables were seated. We were greeted and seated quickly, but were not spoken to from a server at all, for 10 minutes we waited to even get the " I will be right with you guys" Nothing. The table across from us complained that the food was taking forever, they brought out one entry and the other person had been waiting for like 10 minutes for their food. I am sure something was going on int he kitchen or with the ordering or something, but we would have loved to have even had a drink order taken. Nope, we got up and walked out, wasn't even acknowledged leaving either. Bummer, because the one of Vista was pretty good.

decent pub food. Good, not great, beer selection. I'd love more choices. Food is good and consistent. The salmon bleu cheese wrap is tasty. If you get a pasta dish, I think the sauces are a bit heavily laid on, so ask for light sauce. Generally a kid friendly atmosphere but a bit pricey if you have really small children.

We had the family night at WC last Friday. Wifey had the SBLT and loved it, I had the Club and it was wonderful. Jo had the Ahi sandwich and that was the winner on the table. We've been there many times and had great food every time. Only a couple of times had problems getting served in a timely manner but the owners have always made it good for us with free desert or something.

I've been only once, but the grilled chicken on my salad was of poor quality--rubbery and with pieces of cartilage. I'd need someone to be really persuasive to get me to return. Like other reviewers, I don't understand the appeal.

I love the "Greek Cow" burger at Willowcreek. We've tried the fish and chips (a bit greasy) and THE burger (good but overpriced). Their iced tea is very good and has a hint of fruit. The restaurant tends to be a bit noisy and drafty on cold winter nights. Our most recent visit was on a Friday night, and at 7:30 pm the bathrooms were a terrible mess and out of paper. My husband had the special, lavender rubbed prime rib for $18.99. The meat was very good but the sides, including the horseradish and au jus, were lacking. The prices are high for what you get, but I like the "Greek Cow" enough that I'll probably go back.

This place serves very unique dishes. If you're up for trying something new, come here. They like to mix things up with seafood, but also have more "traditional" dishes to choose from. I've had the SBLT (Salmon BLT sandwhich) which is very good (my husband has had it 3 out of the 4 times we've been). I've had the "Salmon and Twigs" which is essentially fish and chips except it's salmon, not cod (although they do have normal fish and chips with cod) - which I also enjoyed and have gotten twice now. The other thing I've tried is the fish tacos, which were good, but since I like the other dishes I've had more, I would have to really be in the mood for them to order it again. I really like their french fries. They'll serve you sweet potato fries with some chipotle mayo sauce if you're so inclined, or mixed (sweet potato and regular). While we were there with friends, one of the other people in my party had ordered something that included mashed potatoes, and they mentioned the mashed potatoes were very good. Otherwise, the restaurant has a nice feel to it, comfortable seating in general, and is in a nice location, easy to get to. Not sure if it has a full bar (I'm thinking it does) but it definitely has beer and wine. Will be going back for sure. Update: Well, I've been back. More than a few times. I've decided to increase my rating. Besides the SBLT, which is always really good, their artichoke dip is amazing. I've been trying to recreate it at home. I've come to rely on this place as my "default" restaurant when I'm not sure where else to get food.

Food was hit and miss and the bar tenders have an attitude and slow. The salmon run salad was delicious but not only was our server slow and more interested in her cell phone than customer service, most employees seemed that way. There was one waitress that was more mature and actually worried about our experience even though we were not her customers! Wish I could remember her name cause she could run that place and could tell it was her passion to bring joy to each table! We actually requested her this last time and was informed she was no longer with the company:( if they got her back there is about five of us that would come back more, she was that good! She left around June and we and our neighbors that come in look for her. The owners should hold on to these exceptional customer service employees, it only takes a few to bring a restaurant to success! My wife and the couple we came with remembers green eyes, petite, mature and always smiling.

I have been going to Willow Creek Eagle as long as they opened. I loved the Cedar Salmon. We went last night and I ordered it. It was not the same. It was dry and very little flavor. The waitress was awesome and took care of it, but the important thing is: Please please bring back the Cedar Salmon you used to make. The restaurant is a great place and I will continue to go but I do hope they get this message.
