I'm addicted. After finding out about Culvers on a Sunday night - I also insisted that we stop at other locations on Monday and Tuesday as we drove home to Central PA. They were recently named best burger chain in the USA by some organization. I'm giving this 5 stars. This is 5 fast food stars. Not to be confused with 5 gourmet restaurant stars. Ratings are so frustrating some times. The food it very good - almost hard to belive it's a fast food restaurant. I ordered a BBQ beef brisket sandwich the first night; which is what left me wanting another one before we left the midwest. The kid meals were expensive, but included a large bowl of their famous custard. People rave about the custard. It was good but I found it to be a little too soft for my prefrences . . . I like my frozen custard really, really stiff. Culver's reminded me too much of regular soft serve (although the flavor was much better and much creamier). My brother-in-law ordered the pork tenderloin which was absolutely huge for the price. My sister-in-law and niece (who are both allergic to gluten) had burgers without the buns and they looked good even sans bread. At other locations, we had the turkey club sandwich (very good); the salad with pecans, chicken, avocado, and blue cheese (very good particularly for the price); and the burger (which they call something like a butterburger). The seasoned green beans were an amazingly excellent side dish, the fries were respectable, and the kids liked the corn dogs and applesauce that were two of the options in the kid meals. My only complaint about Culver's is that I have never seen one in PA. It looks like Columbus is as far east as they go . . . thank goodness we're in the midwest frequently!

Imagine, if you will - a fast food destination...with the variety of Wendy's, array of frozen deliciousness of Dairy Queen, the service of a sit-down restaurant and the price of McDonald's - and you'd come CLOSE to what you can expect at Culver's. This visit was prompted by a literal visual assault of Culver's commercials that I was subjected to, as we kept warm inside my Mother in Law's house by watching tv and vegging on the couch. What was a Concrete Mixer, I asked, and why do I desperately want one? My husband was astonished that I, the Queen of Sweets, had never been to a Culver's - I had to explain that I had never seen one, therefore, it would have been very difficult to visit one. He said that he wasn't opposed to the idea, so we stopped by the next day after taking family portraits. The serivce was warm and friendly, and my artery clogging meal; Wisconsin fried cheese curds and a Chocolate Brownie Cement Mixer (which I found to be essentially a DQ Blizzard with frozen custard in lieu of soft serve) was definitely worth the 2,000 calories it must have possessed. Additonally, I took a bite of hubs' 'butterburger' and knew that we would have to leave this place soon, in fear that I'd gain weight by mere association. Would definitely come back, but as a splurge/treat only! (There are some healthy options I saw on the menu, but where's the fun in that?)

Fried chicken was really salty, breading soggy and chicken dry. Mashed potatoes had an off flavor. They may have been better with gravy but they neglected to put it in my to go order. Coleslaw was great! Bathrooms were really dirty. Floors needed a good scrubbing especially in the corners.

Culvers has been consistently known for good food and good service. However my last experience there was below par I went to the drive up when I got home realized I did not get my salad. So I called and the person helping me said there was nothing that she could do about it that a manager needed to call but don't count on him calling me because he doesn't do that!!! Was a lot of trouble to go through to get a salad I paid for. Needless to say the manager never called me. I am very very disappointed just a note to myself at drive up check everything they bring you. very poor customer service. I did not get my salad and they owe me money or at least a coupon.

Very tasty food that far far exceeds the quality of the name brand fast food joints. Prices are competitive. Ice cream is fantastic! As an older person, the only fault I could note was that one female server seemed to think that all the customers loved for her to stand by their table & make inane conversation. She annoyed my sister & I a minimum of four times within 20 minutes of trying to eat. When not annoying us with chatter, she moved on to the other customers! She would have been better employed behind the scenes in the restaurant.

After a few months of coming here, their service has improved-- associates are friendly and courteous. The food is pretty good, better than a burger king or McDonalds, and less expensive too. I usually go with a crispy chicken basket and a strawberry shake. Food is nothing spectacular, but a solid choice for fast food.

Great place to eat most of the time but sometimes the fries have freezer burn. Service is great.
