We were driving from Colorado to Illinois and on the crazy drive found ourselves in the middle of no where and starving. I can't say there were many impressive reviews but for a truck stop diner, there seemed to be some fair and entertaining comments that we felt this was a must see. The directions on the GPS took us in to the main downtown, which resembled a ghost town. We realized it was right at the entrance off the highway on the west side. Most of the trucks/semi's blocked the simple store front of the restaurant that is attached to the gas station. We were served immediately a hot cup of coffee, that was tasty. Our food was simple fair. My friend ordered a veggie omelette with toast and I had the biscuits and gravy. My food was cold and seemed to be store packaged/processed products, nothing homemade :( My friend's omelette came back to haunt her within 30 minutes on the road. Overall, it was an experience, one that won't occur again, but I can say I've been there, done that...and survived.

Eat breakfast there usually 2-3 times a month. I always have the Everything Omelet with hash Browns and sour dough toast! Always good and filling and my husband and my bill is usually never over $23-$25 with coffee and hot chocolate! Better than Village Inn

What a shame! Been eating here for 11 years. Haven't been in a couple years till now. 3 servers and 4 tables in use and it took 15 minutes to order. 35 minutes when by and we had no food and empty drinks. I spoke up and our waitress didn't apologize. She said "just a couple minutes left on your food". 11 minutes later and still nothing. We walked out and told them what shi**y serve that was. We got "sorry". Never going back.

My Uncle took me here for lunch today. The staff was hard working and friendly. I loved my pork tenderloin sandwich with a side of crinkle cut fries. I have always enjoyed good truck stop food. The building is attached to a gas station. this makes the restaurant small. I would still recommend it should you have the craving. 8/4/14 Update: Stopped again and would have to agree with the above. I like a consistent quality to my service and food. I would give them 12 monkeys if they had a barrel.

The staff is friendly as always. The food is good but not great. This restaurant is just an average meal stop best suited for truckers. I would say that the breakfast is the only time that the money is worth the wait and food. Should you find yourself burning supper or just wanted a good meal for little money, stop on in. At least in can mark this off the bucket list and say you've been to the "Corn Yack".

Ate there last Sunday and will never eat there again. Food was horrible. Service, if you can call it that, was even worse. 20 minutes just to have someone bring us a menu and then 50 minutes for the food to arrive! All I ordered was a bacon cheese burger! There were six people working a small dining room so they should not have been anywhere near that far behind! The food was dry, burnt, and flavorless. Getting lettuce and pickle on my burger cost more... I would have given this place 0 stars if Yelp allowed it. Truly a waist of time and money
