I have been to this establishment several times and am amazed by the amount of CONSISTENT, food, service, and overall speed of th experience. Perfect price that is fair for profit to the company, yet easy on the wallet. They bring out bread with super flavorful infused dipping oil. Most entrees come with a salad. Simple, comes out fast, and the house tomato dressing is a unique, light, and tasty compliment to fresh vegetables. Entrées all are unique with varying sauces, noodles, and proteins. Presented elegantly and they add freshly grated parm to enhance flavor if you choose. Highly recommended Italian joint for a great experience.

Cedar Rapids is filled with chain restaurants and Napoli's is a refreshing break from the chains! If you are an Olive Garden fan, this will be different experience for you. The chef combines flavors and textures to create a unique dining experience you won't find at chain restaurants. We've tried a good portion of the menu and have not been disappointed yet. Service has always been great, portions are good and prices are much better than the chains. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated and appealing. I appreciate having this wonderful reprieve from the many chains.

Went here on a Sunday with a larger group. We hadn't made reservations, so we were a little concerned. No need as they got us in very quickly. Nice decor, the dining area is somewhat smaller than what I had expected. However, it was set up in such a way it seemed to give a large amount of privacy to diners. Food: I'm not a huge fan of Italian since everything seems to be the same thing, just a different style of pasta. However, the dishes that don't feature a noodle were numerous on this menu. My one daughter had the combo plate and the other had the meatball sub. The sub was huge. Everything we had was tasty and we all agreed we would go back again. Service: Very friendly and efficient. Server was always quick with the refills and clearing plates (one of my pet peeves is when no one pre-buses). Great local place and I would rather spend my money locally than give it to the chains. So Napoli's, we will be back!

I was totally surprised by how good the food was. Service was excellent and they have a great outdoor patio. We had 5 different pasta dishes, all great, especially the pink sauce. The waitress claimed the bread rolls would be the best we've ever tasted, and I think she was pretty darn close.

Some of the best Italian food I've ever had, if not THE BEST Italian. Johnny and Gony run this place very well, with Gony usually in the back.. The mozzarella and tomato with balsamic is really great, so is the bread with diced tomato and I believe a different kind of cheese. My wife ordered mushroom ravioli and must have loved it because she chose not to share. My daughter ordered the kids spaghetti and meatballs and commented on how good the sauce was (she's 10). I ordered the veal parmigiana and it was very generous in portion, the cheese melted on top of the veal was perfectly browned, and the pasta was really well prepared. Dessert though. Dessert was the absolute best part. We all ordered different desserts. The limoncello was the softest, most amazing tasting limoncello I've had. It was really truly amazing. The creme brulee was very very creamy. I wish the crust was a bit thicker, but that's about it. Amazing taste. The tiramisu was incredibly light, the breading very fluffy. I felt like I could eat and eat and eat, without it making me feel heavy. I cannot recommend the dessert enough here. Really it was a great experience, and Marion is lucky to have such a great restaurant. What a treat!

This is based on lunch. We were seated promptly and service was excellent. The egg plant Parmigiano was excellent. The ambience was average, but the food made it seem better. It has been here several years and proven to be a popular Italian restaurant on the north side of the city.

Bar far the best Italian food in Cedar Rapids. We had been fans of Olive Garden until we came to napoli's. Everything we have gotten there has been wonderful and we try and get something different every time we go. I could eat my body weight in their bread, it is DELICIOUS!! The service has always been good. And the price? you can't beat it for the quality and quantity you get. Would recommend this to absolutely anyone! Dessert you ask? yeah that's all kick butt too. I don't like Lemon desserts but the limoncello is to die for!! ( same with the Canolis) Go there for you're next date night. you won't be disappointed!

Ive found that Napoli's is a very good italian food restaurant. Only had 1 incidence where the service wasnt that great and myself and my wife were passed over for good service because there was a large group there but we talked to the manager and he took care of our service personally and gave us free Limon Cello cake which is awesome!! Been there a few times after and have had no problems. Decent prices and great food so absolutely no complaints...We'll be back!!

We have been here several times in different size groups over the last year: The restaurant itself is clean and bright and spacious with exception to the middle section of tables. The food is really good and priced right. They don't have an extensive wine by the glass menu but they have anything you'd want really...and ranked from sweet to dry, which is helpful. There is a very nice patio for outdoor dining in the warmer months. We have always enjoyed the food and this time, New menus which are very nice with lighting that you can read them by. Our wait staff was friendly though very busy chit chatting with other staff. The bartender was rude, loud and disrespectful to surrounding customers in regards to her off color comments. We enjoy this restaurant and have recommended it to our friends in the past. The food quality can be compared with any in Cedar Rapids, Marion and Iowa City.

Stopped in for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it! Tilapia Florentine, a cup of minestrone, and a basket of fresh bread (with seasoned oil) for under $15. Everything was served very hot and was definitely a great value at that price. Hoping to try them for dinner sometime soon!

This is a place I've purposely ignored since it opened. I'm not a huge fan of eating at Italian restaurants and When we do tend to go to the Olive Garden. However, I believe we've been missing out on a really great place to eat. Overall the food was very good, service was ok, the food arrived promptly, and prices were very very reasonable. We were there with my family including my two Grandsons (ages 2 and 5) and they both were very happy with the food, which does not happen often when we eat out. (Everyone was so full from dinner there wasn't room for dessert; however, we ordered a piece of their chocolate cake for the boys to take with them and they were fighting over who would carry it home.). The server wasn't as attentive as we would have liked and that probably caused them to miss out on some additional drink orders. We certainly plan to go back.

I've read previous reviews and I think they've made the needed improvements. Our party of 8 was already aware that you can bring in your own alcohol which we found to be very economical. Our waiter was very friendly and accommodating. The salad was fine and the rolls were tasty. I had a chicken and artichoke dish with pink sauce. It was very good and had plenty for lunch the next day. The restaurant was not crowded on a Friday night so we were able to sit and socialize and didn't run up a huge bar tab because we had brought in our own. It was quiet so we could visit and everyone in my party was very satisfied with the food and service. Give it a chance!

Wow...great food...and very reasonably priced...two house specialties, with salad, wine and dessert for $45 bones...still had leftovers for lunch the next day...will definitely be back.

A friend and I did a late lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant was quiet and the tables were spread out. I hate sitting close to people if I don't have to. The server was quite friendly. The food was good, not overwhelmingly fantastic, but good. My friend and I usually eat out once a week or so and one of the places we go frequently is the Olive Garden. We spent several minutes comparing the food to that which we normally have at Olive Garden. We started with stuffed mushrooms. I was really not impressed. They were somewhat bland, even with pink sauce (the mix maranara and alfredo together) on them. The presentation of the mushrooms was a little scary. Three small mushrooms swimming in a huge puddle of sauce on something about the size of a dinner plate. The mushrooms could have been larger, the stuffing could have been a bit tastier and the amount of sauce could have been decreased by at least half. The some of the rolls were a little too dark, bordering almost on slightly burnt. They did a good job of soaking up some of the excess pink sauce. In the case of my spaghetti and meatballs, it was pretty much identical to what I would have at OG. The spaghetti was a little thinner, the three meatballs were a little smaller but quantity was pretty similar. The kicker is that the price was $6 cheaper. My friend had eggplant parmesan, which he says was far superior to OG. The slices of eggplant were considerable bigger and the price was about $5 less. In questioning the server, she told us about the BYOB policy and I asked how much the uncorking fee was. She stated that they didn't charge. This will please my wife a lot. She likes to have wine with dinner however it is annoying to pay$6.95 for a glass of wine when you know that for a few dollars more you can buy a whole bottle. Overall I would be happy to eat there again, at least once more, to make sure this trip was not a fluke.

Love their outdoor seating. Great prices, huge portions and fantastic service. Had their greek salad with shrimp. The shrimp was very fresh. Loved the salad. I would definitley recommend dinner and drinks here. My only complaint is the carry out service. I have had a couple orders messed up and extras added that I did not order and still charged for. As long as you dine in its a great experience.

Been here twice now. Once when they opened and again recently. Figured I'd give them a second chance since the first visit was so disappointing. The food is a joke. I guarantee they don't have a culinary trained chef. More likely just line cooks or a home cook doing a poor impression of a chef. The food tastes like they buy it frozen and heat it up in a microwave. If I wanted frozen food I'd go to the grocery store and heat it up myself. Their dishes are way over priced for what they are serving. The servers haven't been properly trained and don't know the menus or how to do their jobs. If you want mediocre Italian food avoid this place and go to Zip Johnnos instead.

This restaurant is no longer BYOB, just FYI for those of you who ventured here a year or two ago when they first opened. Napoli's has a special little spot in my heart. The food is really good and priced right. They don't have an extensive wine by the glass menu but they have anything you'd want really...and ranked from sweet to dry, which is helpful. The restaurant itself is clean and has a soft/romantic atmosphere, with a nice patio for outdoor dining in the warmer months (ALWAYS a perk in my mind). We have always enjoyed the food and this time, we saved room for dessert. Seriously, some of THE BEST creme brulee I've ever had. My only issue with Napoli's (outside of the horribly typed menu...sooooo many errors!) is the service. It's very spotty and personality wise, it doesn't match the type of restaurant Napoli's is. It just seems amateur. In any case, I opt for Napoli's over Olive Garden any day.

Wow, Bekah's review is almost exactly mine, except we ordered the cheesy garlic bread and they brought it out sans cheese. The waitress then said "is that okay or no." Well, it isn't what I ordered so no. They also charge extra for marinara. The decor is somewhere between a respectable Italian restaurant and a Fazoli's. It doesn't help that the bathroom is in the strip mall hallway next to the hair salon. I asked about wine when I didn't see a drink menu at which point I was informed that it's a byob restaurant. How about a sign? How about a warning by the hostess? I thought about getting chicken on my spaghetti but rejoiced in my decision not to when I saw the rubbery, poorly prepared chunks on my friend's salad. Really, I can look past a lot of things but when the service is this poor, it shines a light on all that is wrong.

I thought it was great food. All the appetizers we had were exellent and completely finished off. The bread is almost worth filling up on so you don't have room for dinner - but restrain yourself. I had a stuffed chicken breast with a creamy mushroom sauce and filled with ricotta and spinach - delicious. Server was qualified and answered lots of questions. Will go back.

I want to start off by saying I was pretty skeptical coming here in the first place due to all the negative reviews. However I gave it a try since my friend had a sweetjack promotion and they just remodeled and reopened. After this visit, I won't have to worry about another meal here again. The service was very good (new waitress working) and the food was ok. What was not ok was their inability to honor the sweet jack discount. The manager said since they were closed for a month, we would have to go back online to reclaim the credit and they would not give us a discount. They failed to tell us this before the meal so we were very disappointed to find out during the check. What a shame to not have 4 returning customers over $5. (our combined bill was over $50)

This was at the top of my local restaurant want to try list. The decor was interesting, and not what one would expect from outside due to the vaguely strip mall like location. It was a tad awkward, with what amounted to be a sort of indoor gazebo in the center of the space. We were seated next to the window, which did nothing to harm or improve our experience. My co-eater and I both ordered iced tea, which came in enormous glasses, and I, who normally asks for at least one refill, did not have any. We ordered garlic bread as a starter, and somehow ended up with cheesy garlic bread. The salad that came with the dinner was underwhelming. Small, and only iceberg. The rolls, however, completely made up for the lack of substance of the salad. The entrées were well-portioned and presented well for a family owned Italian restaurant. The chicken in my friends Chicken Parmesan was poorly prepared, and while not inedible, could use a makeover. The lobster ravioli was good, and the sauce interesting. I would go back, just please get me wait staff that isn't in running for the local Ice Queen competition.

Fantastic italian! The combo dish of manicotti/lasagna/canneloni is delicious! Their outdoor patio is great - so nice that they have that! Definitely give it a try.... way better than the chain italian joints.

Napoli's was better than the last time we were there. Food quality, presentation, wine and service were very good. Prices are reasonable and everyone was helpful. We were told the wait would be 25 min, (Mothers Day dinner) and were seated earlier.

It's like a Zio Johno's, only pricier and less tasty. We went there a couple of times but won't be back after last time. Parking is kind of bad given the location at the end of a strip mall. It's not a deal breaker, but it doesn't help. I have to say I actually liked the interior, gazebo and all. I do remember thinking something negative about the carpet, though, but don't remember why. They don't serve wine, but that wasn't a factor for me as I don't usually drink it. The service is terrible. Last time we went, everyone appeared to be immigrants from Eastern Europe or Russia, with very poor English skills. The food is mediocre at best. You start out with bland, cold dinner rolls for some reason instead of garlic bread. So if you want garlic bread, you have to order it as an appetizer. The salads are pretty small and just a packed iceberg lettuce salad mix and a crouton or two. Very underwhelming. The major complaint is with the entres - they are equivalent to fast food Italian food, but are priced at least $5 higher. Honestly, if they cut the prices back I might go here instead of Fazolis or Zio Johnos when I'm in the mood for cheap Italian. At these prices, I may as well go to Olive Garden and get better food. My advice to the owner - hire better staff (who can speak English) and either improve the food quality or drastically cut your prices.

I had high hopes. I was severely disappointed. Access: Parking is horrendous. You have to park in the back at a new-ish strip mall type place. But, that can be overlooked. Service: Not bad. Not overwhelming, but good service. No complaints there. Atmosphere: The music was way too loud. It was impossible to have a quiet conversation with my partner. Otherwise the decor is nice. They really need to turn down the music, though. Prices: Good. Very good. At first glance. Which leads us to... Food: This is where everything falls apart. Seriously. Relating to prices, they looked good... until you see the ridiculously small portion sizes. The dinner salad was just a small handful of lettuce leaves and a few croutons and a tomato slice. The stuffed mushroom appetizer tasted good, but again was absurdly small. The main dish tasted fine, but was so small I actually had to eat again later in the evening. My word of advice: Turn down the music and serve up a real meal.

I came with a super empty stomach and much anticipation for an oh-so-bittersweet after-pasta food coma. Parking was fine because no one was eating there... at 7pm on a weekend. Our waitress is where I'm going to slam down on this restaurant. When asked about a drink menu, the waitress said they didn't serve alcohol but that we should go to the store and get some and come back later. Is that where the rest of the invisible patrons were? Isn't this an Italian restaurant... Italy being a hotbed for wine? We ordered cheesy bread for an appetizer, and for some reason she brought out the appetizer, as well as the dinner rolls and our salads (that come with your dinner order) right on top of each other, and then stood there looking put out waiting for us to clear her some room on the table. Sorry I can't shove 4 rolls in my mouth and wash it down with more bread in thirty seconds so you have space for our salads. So... we didn't get to eat any of the rolls because we needed the space and she was just standing there like it's our fault she can't put down our dinner salads. Right after she put down our salads, she left and CAME BACK WITH OUR DINNER PLATES! What the heck? I hadn't even put an overdressed piece of lettuce in my mouth yet! So by now I was getting annoyed and let her stand there with the hot plates while I ate a few bites of salad. The smell of the pasta overcame my desire to get back at her for being such a craptastic waitress, however, and I decided to forgo the salad for the pasta plate. I had Chicken Sicilian and my friend ordered Chicken something or other in a cream sauce. Bad mistake on the chicken. I should have read the reviews before coming because it was pounded thin and overcooked. I ate the spaghetti noodles (NOT al dente like real Italian) and the mushrooms out of my lemon cream sauce. About thirty seconds into the meal the waitress comes over and asks if we want dessert or if she should just bring the tab. Ok, I understand if there's a line out the door... but NO ONE WAS THERE! To buy us some time to eat, we said dessert. She comes back, and sets the menu on top of my plate of cheesy bread I was still eating! All in all, the two stars are for taste, because what we could quickly cram into our mouths before having it taken away or contaminated with menus was good, minus the hardened chicken. I'd only come back if the dumb waitress were sent to Siberia.

Bought the vouchers to try this place out. Went with a friend over lunch hour. First hint that it might not be so hot was the lack of a crowd at lunch. When we were seated we asked for separate checks. That was fine, but only one voucher was allowed per table. We decided to share lunch since neither of us were in the mood to spend any more money on this place. We were then told it would be $3.99 to split the plate. I said "Don't split it; I'll just let him eat off my plate." the answer was that wasn't allowed and I'd still be charged $3.99 if we did! Seriously! We were ready to leave at that point, but wanted to use one of our vouchers before we vowed never to return. Food was mediocre at best. Bland pesto, iceberg lettuce "salad", and cheap Italian dressing. Rolls were the best thing. We chocked it up to lesson learned and accepted the loss of the other voucher. Not even worth going back. Tony, the waiter, was nice. Poor guy; I wonder how often he has to deal with customers complaints that aren't his fault. Tipped him well and left.

I will NEVER go back to this restaurant. The food and service were not memorable in the least. What I do remember was the waiter who hit on my friend. He embarrassed her, made me feel like a hunchback and was totally unprofessional. I can hardly believe it actually happened but unfortunately, it did.

Dinner for 14 college runners and coaches and myself to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Italian is always good for runners. I'd eaten at Napoli's previously, and like to support non-chain restaurants when I'm able. No one else in the group had eaten here previously, but I'm pretty sure they will be back given the quality and price. Keeping a large group satisfied takes a lot. Very efficient and patient service, consistently refilling water, tea, and coffee, as well as the great bread. Everyone walked away full, with some having extra to take back to their dorms. Thanks to the Napoli's staff for making dinner special.
