Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

I eat here about once every 4-6 weeks and the food is always fresh and the selection is good. I've never had a bad visit, something I can't say about other eating establishments in Des Moines.

Greasy Gut Bomb Factor (1-5 scale): THREE MSG/Jittery After Effect Factor (1-5 scale): TWO Annoying, Loud Muzak Factor (1-5 scale): FOUR "Can I take this sir" the Second After you Finish a Plate Factor (1-5 scale): ONE PROS: It's very quick to walk in and be eating in 60 seconds, most foods seem fresh and to proper temperature, wide variety, the workers don't annoy, LOTS of dishes with shrimp CONS: It's on the South side, $9.50 is expensive for a buffet, desserts are boxed as in served out of the foodservice box they arrived in, salad bar is lacking in nutrition and freshness

Was here with my family today!! Love it!! Our favorite buffet! We don't go anywhere else. We love this place because of the crab legs! They also have crawfish, but I don't bother with crawfish. Usually eat 1 plate of 'regular' buffet food, and 3 plates of crab legs. Dessert was also delicious! Ming is the most 'authentic' Chinese food - with the usual buffet stuff. (If you want crappy fake Chinese buffet food then go to Buffet City or China One Buffet.) I don't know why people say this place is dirty or unclean. Not at all. Yes, the exterior is kind of unkempt (old South side looking), and the neighborhood is working class, but that's about it - the inside looks like every other Chinese buffet. But, again, go to Buffet City in West Des Moines if you want fake hospitality and a fancy exterior. **Quick Review** Food: 9/10 Presentation: 9/10 Value: 10/10 Customer Service: 9/10 Cleanliness: 10/10

The decor is old and the service is what you would expect from a buffet - though I do think it's strange that they have their children working the register and seating you. The food is standard buffet fare - not bad, but not amazing. They don't seem to make a lot of their dishes frequently so you might not be getting the freshest food. they do charge over $10 for dinner and you are getting a smaller selection than some of the other buffets in town.

This is one of my favorite Chinese buffets in town! I've been here multiple times with coworkers and we always have a good time. They have a good selection and food quality. One thing I want to mention about this place is their Spinach Cheese Puff. It is the only place I know that has this and they are AMAZING. The staff is friendly here and parking very convenient with a big lot. I would continue to eat here as long as they have the same food quality and selection.

S/O wanted Chinese takeout from Ming Dynasty, so we came here for lunch the other day. You walk in, tell them you wish to do carryout, and they hand you one or two medium-sized boxes to fill up. Food was fresh, but I didn't feel there was a large selection to choose from. Maybe I'm just spoiled from buffets where I'm from? After you fill your boxes, they weigh them for you at the front. For me, this buffet is okay. I've had better before.

Dinner here was a bit sketchy. Walls were not clean especially near rest room. Ceilings and air ducts were very dirty. Service was ok. Did not bother us while eating. Not much selection for a buffet. Food seemed to be proper temp. Lots of shrimp and prawns. I could not muster the courage to try them. Not any salad bar. Had fruit and some fresh veggies. I was underwhelmed. I would not recommend this restaurant until it gets a thorough cleaning.
