If you are looking for authentic mexican food... this is not the place. If you are looking for americanized mexican food.. this IS the place! This is the kind of place that is GREAT if you know what you are walking into. If you walk in wanting authentic, you will be disappointed. If you walk in wanting things covered in cheese, you will be so happy. Out of all the American Mexican places in the QC, Ganzo's is the best. (Way better than Sancho's and WAY WAY better than Rudy's.) When we were there it was 2 for 1 draft night.. pretty legit.

Went there today for lunch. Stood at the door for 5-7 min before anyone even asked me if I've been helped. Then sat down and watched other customers being helped in larger groups. They received chips/salsa/drinks before anyone even came to help me. I guess being a young female dining by yourself means you don't deserve good service.

This family-owned business has been at it for years in several locations with this being the newest. They have also operated a taco-wagon that has been a regular sight at many fairs and events over the years. Ganzo's sells your usual "Americanized" mexican items;tacos, burritos, fajitas, etc. Quality is consistently high but the service can sometimes be a little slow. Complimentary chips and salsa (the best in town!) are brought out before your meal. I can't comment too much on the various kinds of food as I usually get the all you can eat taco bar when I go so things are made just how I like them. Just wish they had a little finer shred on the lettuce. Chunky lettuce doesn't do good in tacos. Ganzo's is also a great spot for Cinco de Mayo celebrations as they close down the street out front for a huge party. If you're looking for some decent Mexican food that is much better than Tacos' Bell and John's you can't go wrong with Ganzo's. Now...are they better than Rudy's?

Went there with a very large group for a party I was invited to.. Been here before twice, food, blah, not authentic. Now our party had a terrific waitress! She really was on top of the orders, the drinks, everything. No problem with separate checks, she knew her stuff :-) Quick, attentive service. Food came out hot, everyone was ok with the food, although not thrilled, it was blah as usual. I know I heard about it. Now the tortilla chips and salsa, they rock! I had one beef taco, it was so-so, nothing much. I mainly made a meal out of my soda and the chips and salsa. I will stick with my regular places for authentic Mexican food, not Americanized tasteless stuff they serve here. But I would go only for a soda & the chips and salsa, that is worth a trip. And for a party, etc. we had a great waitress, thumbs up to her and the service.

Save yourself. NEVER eat here. I've probably eaten at 30+ Mexican restaurants in my life and this is the worst Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. Wait, scratch that, that's offensive to Mexican restaurants everywhere; this is just the worst restaurant I've ever been to. Taco bell is more authentic than this place. Seriously. And tastier and cheaper. You've been warned.

Ganzo's has the best chips & salsa in town. They are a hiden treasure. For cinco de mayo they do a "nocho ordinary 5k" with a lot of festivities and proceeds going towards the Autism Society. Thumbs up for doing something great for the community!

I've never eaten at Ganzo's but discovered their salsa on the HyVee shelves. No preservatives and not too spicey. It never lasts over a day in my house.

First time eating here and couldn't believe the terrible service and very small food portions they served. Four of us waited OVER AN HOUR for our food and the waitress never came out to say she was sorry or what was happening, I finally had to speak up and ask why it was taking so long. She said our order came in after a table of 7 and that's why it was slow. Seriously? We ordered tacos and we saw tables that came in after us getting their food. When I inquired about it she said their food order was simple and they could bring it out. Seriously? What's easier than making tacos? The portions were tiny too. My steak tacos had about 10 tiny pieces of steak in it and when I rolled it up it was about the size of a pencil. Everyone's tacos were the same so it wasn't just mine. They also forgot the different cheese we ordered as well as the rice and beans! Unreal. The ONLY saving grace was the manager didn't charge us for the food, they only charged us for the drinks. and, to be fair, the waitress did apologize after I asked what was taking so long but it was too late at that point.

The beef and bean tacos and their taco sauce are absolutely amazing!!! I've tried their enchilada, tamale, and chimi's and well taste was something left to be desired. So, any time I want just tacos and a margarita, this is my place!

I have been here multiple times and every time has been a great experience! My favorite is the Super Chuco it's a huge version of the burrito that is almost enough for two meals. I would definitely recommend Ganzos to anyone who hasn't yet tried it.

After 5 visits to Ganzo's mexican I give them a hearty thumbs up. All the food was what I ordered , how I ordered it and the service was very good. I will continue to vist them when I am in the area. I only wish they would move to a larger building. now would be the time to relocate , a lot of places are closing. best wishes to the owners and staff for making our visits pleasant.

This the worst Mexican food that has ever come in contact with my mouth. Everything had a very similar flavor and temperature. The soda was great.....

We actually really enjoyed eating there this past weekend. This is a favorite of my boyfriend's family and we had to try it. Our service was great. The only bad thing about it was it was incredibly loud (or at least the people in the bar area were really loud). I loved our food and we will definitely be back.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
