I wouldn't normally give a corporate donut shop five stars -- what could they possibly do to make an experience *that* good? Well this Krispy Kreme did it. Josie was at the counter, and she was the epitome of quality service. Greeted us, smiled, asked what we wanted, and rang it up. She was so...nice. And genuine. Reward this employee, Krispy Kreme. But what put it at 5 stars...was how immaculate the restaurant was. Combine that with the kindness, and I felt like I had just stepped into Pleasantville. It was...surreal. The entire shop was tidy, clean and organized. No crumbs, no dirty corners, even the coffee cups behind the counter for drive-thru customers were perfectly stacked and ready for lids. Either Josie was really bored or she runs a heck of a tight ship. Kudos to her either way. Oh, and the donuts? My favorite. They are...the best.

We, that is my wife and I, had a great stay with friends for two days recently while we visited Omaha. The Inn is a very quick and easy 8 or 9 minute ride to downtown Omaha, including the Quest Center. On its' own, the Wickham is a lovely, comfortable 1888 home filled with antiques, well decorated and detailed. Jamie, the innkeeper, is very accommodative and pleasant and prepares a delicious breakfast. He went quite out of his way for us when we needed breakfast early one morning. We're looking forward to our next stay there.

Chill bar in a neighborhood. Great food and all kinds of specials. They have a nice area of rolling lounge chairs........which I love! Graffiti everywhere! Cool place! A popular place with the council bluffs in crowd and a great little bar menu until 2 AM. Can't beat it!
We were visiting the area and stopped by this bar as an afterthought on the way out of town mid-day on a Sunday. It's out of the way in an otherwise residential area, but we picked it since it has the same name as a bar down the street from me back home. :) We were the first customers of the day. The bartender was cleaning up the remnants of a RAGBRAI party the night before, but he didn't mind taking time away to visit with us for a while. In addition to hosting various bands, the bar has pool tables, several video games, widescreen TVs, and a juke box. There's a basic menu and beer on tap priced cheaply. We had fun here being the only people in the place, so I look forward to coming back another time when it's busier.

Best Chinese food in Council Bluffs, hands down. Kinda sketchy but the food is outstanding. I've never had a problem.
Cheap. Strip Mall. Chinese. The best option for this on the CB side of the river, if you are in the mood.
Walked in thinking this was going to be just another sweet American-style Chinese food. WRONG. But, they do have that stuff, too. It was pretty authentic. There was a caucasian guy who was clearly a regular and spoke some variety of Chinese dialect. The woman (owner) who was working was incredibly friendly and grandmotherly.

Very friendly and very quick. Not much more to ask for. Also, the sandwiches were tasty and fresh. The day old loaves are a great deal too, great for dipping at home or making into little French toast pieces.
I am always a fan of JJ's- I find they have exceptional customer service for a fast (self proclaimed very very fast) food chain. This location is no exception. I was greeted as I walked in the door and the sandwich was made perfectly. Not a smudge of mayo or grease on the wrapper or shredded lettuce everywhere when I unwrapped it. When I was leaving after eating, they asked how the sandwich was and wished me a good day. The bathrooms were clean and overall I was impressed. Good location.

My husband and I discovered this place a few years ago on a road trip from STL, MO to South Dakota. We liked it so much that we made it a point to stop on our way back as well. Two years later, we still remembered it and planned our leave time from STL so we'd be in Council Bluffs around dinner time. It is still awesome! What amazes me the most is how one restaurant can do pizza AND steak so well. This trip, my husband and I shared a small pizza and a ribeye so we wouldn't have to choose between them.
PK is by far the beat pizza in the Omaha/Council Bluffs metro area. The service is great. They are a pretty busy pave so at times there can a wait. That being said, it is well worth the wait! ! Highly recommended!
My friend and I went here last night for dinner, and thought the joint was solid. I had the half fried chicken dinner, which came with salad, potato and choice of second side. (Only $13 bucks for all of this) The batter was very good, but the chicken a little on the fatty side. My friend had the hot beef sandwich, and she enjoyed hers quite a bit. The prices here are super reasonable and the service was very good. I plan on returning some point to try their pizza. (Which looked really good)

The Salty Dog Bar & Grill

Reviews:
Matt M. took us over to the Salty Dog watch the "NFL Championship Game". Nice neighborhood bar. Great food, great service, plenty of TV's to watch the game. I agree, the Char-Buff wings were great. definitely will order them again next time. I also had the steak Philly and enjoyed it as well. I know everyone's opinion of a Philly widely varies, but it was large, had good flavor, and plenty of toppings. Better than the average bar. They also had a nice beer selection. I gave this a 5 star rating, that is comparing this neighborhood bar to other bars. It is a bar and they serve "bar food", good bar food.
Best wings in Council Bluffs/Omaha. Period. Get them char-buffed. You can thank me later. I haven't had much else on the menu, those who have dined with me have had positive comments about the burgers. The set-up for a sports bar is done right, plenty of TVs. Full bar with a few craft beers on-tap. Service tends to be slow. Friendly enough... haven't had an order placed wrong... just slow. It is really my only "knock" on the place.
We decided to try out the Salty Dog on a Saturday evening, knowing the prime rib was the special for the night. We arrived later than planned, about 7:30PM, and the place was packed. We grabbed the last empty table in the place. The music was loud enough that it made holding a conversation nearly impossible, but then again it was 7:30 and it is a bar! Service was outstanding for as crowded as they were. My drink was never empty the entire time we were there. I ordered the prime rib and our server recommended the buffalo chicken soup as my side instead of the salad. I really wanted to save my appetite for my steak, but went ahead and ordered it with full intention of taking it home for lunch the next day. Made a big mistake...I tasted it. OMG it was so delicious. I kept trying to put my spoon down, but kept picking it back up and taking another bite...until it was gone! YUM! I ordered my prime rib med-rare, but it came out medium. It was a large cut of meat, not overly fatty. It wasn't the best piece of prime rib I've had, but some of that could be attributed to the fact it was over cooked for me. It also could have used a little more seasoning. The steak is served with a baked potato and grilled Texas toast. I got the smaller cut of prime rib, and still had more food than I could finish. The Salty Dog is a nice place to go for a meal or a just a drink. It's definitely steps above bar food, and the employees are very welcoming and offer excellent service. Next time you're in CB I'd recommend giving this place a try. I will definitely be back.! Try.The.Soup.

I absolutely adore Sugar's!!! The Bloody Mary's are phenomenal especially for $5.50!! I always order the Chicken Fried Chicken and I'm never disappointed. It's our go to restaurant when we're really hungry. The portions are extremely large. Diane, Donna & Mindy are Icing on this FABULOUS cake. They make you feel like family.
I went to Sugar's with my sister and wife recently and I have to say, it was a pleasant experience. It is joined with Sugar's Bar but we went in the morning so there were only people eating. The first thing that I noticed was how cold it was. It was pretty cold so if you go here I would just make sure you had a jacket or something on. I ordered the Fantasy Island, which is hash browns with a biscuits, gravy, scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, and some veggies on top. It was pretty dang delicious. The food was good but not sure if it was worth $8, but it did however fill me up. The customer service from the wait staff was great. They greeted us, were nice, and were very friendly throughout our breakfast. Overall, it was a very good experience and I'm more than willing to come back and try their dinner food.
Great pizza, kitchen is open late, and great deals on daily specials!

HuHot Mongolian Grill

Reviews:
I have a love hate relationship with HuHot. I always eat more than I should and leave the place feeing worse than when I got here. The food is always good and when it isn't it's because I picked the wrong ingredients. Right after I sat down with my food, the place was attacked by a zombie hoard that smashed through the front door. That's when the legendary HuHot customer service came into play. Our waitress, Christina, who is 9 months pregnant, grabbed an MP5 off a rack behind the hostess both and started spraying. She smoked seven zombies before I had taken my first bite of Kahn's Revenge. After a tactical reload she came over and refilled my diet coke. Now that is customer service!
Really nice & clean with wonderful attentive staff I like the concept of choosing your own ingredients & then handing them over to the friendly chatty chefs, who quickly cook on this big round stone looking table. Brings a very exciting dimension to a regular lunch stop. That said, it didn't get 5 stars because their strength may also be their weakness. Too many choices in sauces & food combinations. I know I know choice is a good thing, however it would mean you would have to come here a hundred times & try hundreds of different combos before you get your perfect plate. I don't think I have the endurance for that much commitment. If that is indeed their weakness than maybe that might actually be a brilliant business plan! Who knows?
This place is ok. I like the concept of creating your own combination and watching it cooked in front of you. That being said few things I don't like about this place are 1. The meat tastes funny 2. The smell of the place, you get that greasy smokey smell 3. It's pretty dark in the place unless the sun is out then half the time the sun shines in your eyes 4. It's damn spendy. Took my kids there for dinner after a ball game & our bill came to $52+change. Lil high when my kids barely ate anything (maybe one plate each) however the took full advantage of refills on soda.
