I will jump right in with the one positive I have for the visit here...the pie! If good pie is all you want, you can get it here. Continue reading if you want more. Upon arrival, we stood and waited for a good five minutes to be seated and the place was not very busy. Once seated, it took a while to get drinks and then took even longer to get our orders taken. I had the choose 3 of the four category meal and went with the tomato basil soup, buffalo chicken salad and pie. My boyfriend selected the cream of chicken and wild rice soup and a chicken pot pie. It seemed like forever for our food to come out. When it did, my salad was made of crappy lettuce, small chicken slices and hardly and feta cheese. Very disappointing. My boyfriend usually likes their chicken pot pie but was not very happy with it this time. It was overloaded with chicken and poor quality chicken at that. The only glimmer of hope for my meal was the pie. Of course, they know how to do pie so I walked away happy with one small part of my meal. I do not plan to come back.

Pie is not good here -- My Pecan pie looked standard, but what was supposed to be the yummy filling beneath the pecans was composed of a gelatin that broke apart in geometrical pieces. I have made better out of a Betty Crocker book -- just sayin' 2 stars earned by the adequate service alone.

Greeted with enthusiasm and speed was just the start to a fabulous dining experience. The food was tasty and well plated and the pie was superb. I am sorry to live in Kansas with no Baker's Squres nearby.

Been jonesing for some pot pies as of late and have found that a lot of places don't offer this fine american staple. The guiness pie at The Royal Mile is fantastic, but I'm here in WDSM and want one now. BSR has a decent representation of one. A good all encompassing crust (Perkins just throws a layer of dough over a bowl), and a good mix of meat and veggies. The mid-week crowd was light and the service was attentive. Finished with the St Patrick Day themed pie that was a little too minty for my taste.

Passing through town, stopped in late for a takeout peach pie slice to enjoy a small pleasure at the hotel after a long drive. It looked good but, few peach slices, mostly sauce/filling. The crust was disappointingly in the cardboard direction. I thought Bakers Sq was a quality pie place?

I decided to have a late breakfast before I drove home to Nebraska. the staff was very friendly and customer-oriented. And surprisingly, the food was excellent: affordable, tasty, fresh, and hot. when you can, stop in for a bite to eat ... you'll be glad you did!

The wait staff at this Bakers Square is always solid. I must give a special shout out to Molly, who made our recent visit fantastic.

I could come here every weekend for brunch, I love their Benedict eggs in all presentations and the banana stuffed french toast is sooo good. The only bad thing is that they don't have enough staff.

Great service and food was really good, but I've had better. Also had much worse, pie was some of the best I've ever had. Portions were nice sized. Very clean, I'll be going there next time I come to Des Moines. Prices were very reasonable.

Only giving it a three because I didn't order a pie. Those pies looked good! I ordered a California Fritata. Well, the picture looked better than it actually was. I did order Tomato Juice because it sounded good and the tomato juice was delicious! My two friends that came with me ordered off the "Four Square" menu. All of the items on Four Square are breakfast items. You pick four. Both of my friends had great waffles and omlets and stuff. I think that is where it's at for this. Order from the FOUR SQUARE menu. Parking lot is kind of dicey for an RV. I came here with a friend who drove.

Not a fan but people seemed to like the pies. I ordered the savory pot roast and the it tasted like it was a frozen meal. The mashed potatoes were quite lumpy. I ate the meat and left the potatoes and carrots. I think I should have opted for the breakfast menu but I probably would choose an IHOP instead. Staff was very nice and my server was super attentive.

Nice food, it was fast, but the server was pushy and impatient. She could use some basic training (e.g don't talk to customers from distance, couple of minutes means at least one minute etc).y colleague felt the same. Would go with the overall ratings in this case.
