So we ordered drinks. The owner didn't impress me much with his cantankerous demeanor. Then, the food. Funny, I was unaware that this place expects their patrons to know EVERYONE'S order. But no worry, the waitress was VERY quick to remind us that we should have "caught" the mistake in regards to a pizza which was delivered to us...which we assumed was OURS, as typically you do when food is brought to your table. But it was meant for another table. We didn't know. (Brown hair, black-rimmed glasses) This woman could use a review lesson in the service industry. The good thing is, I won't be back. Beer selection and "gourmet" pizza, that's really all they have. Moto's try a little kindness, and maybe *gasp* you might find an increase in sales.

Decent place to hang out with friends. Good beer selection and good bar food. Pool table also. Strange operating hours and minimal TV's but they do take CC's so that's good.

Moto's is a nice addition to downtown Burlington. It has a nice atmosphere that is very relaxed. I would recommend this place to someone that is looking to hang out, play some ping-pong or pool, and drink some beers. Anything other than that, and I would go somewhere else. Five of us went to Moto's on Saturday night looking for some pizza. It took us a moment to figure out that you find your own table. It took us a few more moments to figure out that you order drinks and food at the bar. When the bar is busy, this gets tedious. There only appeared to be three people working. One behind the bar and two others that were making pizza's, bar-backing, and busing. If you need to get a refill on a soda, it is frustrating to wait in line at the bar for the bartender to work his way down to you. But the real drag came when one of the pizzas that we ordered came with a hair in it. We notified the woman that brought us the pizza and she said that she would make a new one. That's my first issue. If you serve someone food with a hair in it, you don't make them a return customer by only offering to remake the food. You just grossed the hell out of your customer. You'll be lucky if they even have an appetite. When she brought the "new" pizza, we found ANOTHER hair on it. WTF! No plans to go back to Moto's in the near future. Just thinking about it makes me ill.

Amazing Place! Came from out of town for a weekend vacation. Great vibe, good smelling pizza, and amazing drink selection! A must stop. Had fun playing pool and ping pong. I will be back for sure!

GO TO MISTER MOTO'S. Before you try anywhere else in Burlington, at least try this bar/cafe out. I know it says Vegetarian but last night Wendy ordered a pizza with sausage on it, and we think it was real sausage. The Pizza's are kind of a rectangle shape but taste wonderful, We had one with sausage and POTATOES on a pizza. I had seen a potato pizza on the TV but this one i would HIGHLY recommend, very filling and very good. I had an equally great pizza with peppers and cherry tomatoes and i can't wait to eat the leftovers for lunch. Although they have a great wine selection we decided to have some cocktails because hey, it's Thursday:) I had a dirty martini and Wendy had a screwdriver fit for a 50's tv alcoholic. Boy we love our old timey drinks. This place is the coolest looking bar we've seen in south east Iowa with LARGE community tables, and wonderfully tiled bathrooms that just look fun and although we showed up for a quick bite after work we ended up staying for a few drinks and about an hour of Ping Pong. Looking forward to our return to try some other beverages and hopefully the photo booth will be fixed so we can take some pictures. This is the kind of wonderful place that you hope springs up in a town like Burlington. I hope it's around for a long time and I would be a regular here if i lived here. UPDATE: went there again on a Wednesday night, and you can get a bottle of wine and a pizza for 25 bucks. Still great food, and a pretty good pino.

I really like Moto's. It is a bar for those who don't go to Iowa bars, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for something to do in Burlington. Moto's is relaxed and fun. And to top it off, they have great pizza!

Great little lounge bar. Ping pong table, pool table, board games, fire place. The drink selection is big for crafty beers. The Mojitos are the best in town, no blended drinks. Pizzas are amazing. Free popcorn.

I'd visited Moto's earlier this summer when visiting Burlington for work. There aren't a lot of options for vegetarians in town and I sought out Moto's for it's vegetarian-friendliness. My colleague and I had a great time. Good decor, relaxed atmosphere and yummy food. Good pizza/wine specials. I will be returning if my job takes me back to Burlington.

I love Moto's! Unfortunately, I don't come often enough! I love the ambience. It's kind of a hipster-y little place with original decor - church pews, train station benches, hand painted couches, etc. Tons of beers even though the drinks are generally a little pricey, it is worth it. Also - the wifi is fast and free. :)

The food was ok at best... I had the Greek pizza... Good beer selection ... This place was dirty... Nobody was there ... And the bartender was a total jerk ..much better restaurants in Burlington than this

Its the only place in this region with any originality, for starters. Despite the other lack of options, I'm thrilled that its vegetarian. Delicious food and drinks, and I used to love going there to hear the live music.

I love this place! The atmosphere is very laid back which I love! The Cajun pizza is the best pizza I've ever had! The pizza had sliced potatoes & an over easy egg! Delicious!

The best and most refreshing place to hit Burlington. Originally serving coffee and vegan foods, it now caters more to the bar scene but still offering pizza and coffee (and free popcorn!). The vibe and atmosphere here are great and so not Burlington, you won't often find hicks or fist pumping here. It has a very artsy look, with dim lighting, christmas lights, black and red theme, couches and plenty of board games to play. Also sporting tvs, ping pong table and a pool table. If you actually want a beer that doesn't taste like pissey water, go here. The selection is the best you will ever find in Burlington. The prices are higher than I like (when aren't they) but you have to understand this type of place isn't really what you usually find in Burlington. Seriously the only place I ever want to go when I'm in town to drink. Support this place, some originality is needed in that town.

Veggie burger was good as was the beer selection. I had a Kostritzer Schwarzbier, the black beer that Goethe liked to drink. Not a beer I see most places. A greater selection of vegetarian dishes would be appreciated. There were about 10 items on the evening menu board the day I ate there. The limited selection is the reason I gave this only 4 stars. Location is next to RR tracks, a plus for train buffs as the tracks are quite active. About 4 blocks from the Mississippi River, a good place for a stroll after eating.

Mister Moto's is excellent! My wife and I went there for lunch and it was awesome. You order at the counter then wait for you food. The building is spacious and has a great, artsy atmosphere. There is a bar with a ton of wine and beer choices. There are no meat dishes. I had the veggie burger, and it was very good. The chips and salsa were very good. The salsa was a great "spiciness". My wife had a vegetable and bean soup which was splendid. I would definitely go back.

Mr. Moto's is one of those unexpected, great independent businesses that are found in throughout many small-towns in Iowa. The owners have taken a former warehouse in downtown Burlington next to the train tracks and have created a unique restaurant and coffeehouse. I The highlight is their coffee - they brew Intelligentsia coffee from Chicago (you can also buy pound bags of it to take home). Their food is also great - particularly their pizzas! They have lots of vegetarian options available - something that is completely unexpected in small-town Iowa. This is the sort of place you wouldn't expect to find in Burlington...yet, it is there, an oasis amongst the remnants of Burlington's industrial past.

Nice atmosphere. Food: I have had the breakfast burrito, which is excellent, and the spinach salad which was $7 and a big disappointment, but love the Greek salad! However, the pizza is very good. The coffee is very good, but they do not know how to serve tea at all. Some teas such as green tea only steeps a minute or two and they serve that the same as the others, and this ruins it. I love how they brew the coffee one cup at a time. Very good. I rated Moto's very low b/c they have a reputation for being a very unfriendly establishment for children. I have seen this first hand on more than one occasion, and have friends who have experienced the same. It's almost embarassing. If you have kids in tow, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Also, b/c of the trains this is NOT a good place for meetings. You have to actually stop talking until they stop blowing the whistles.

I like to visit Mister Moto's when I'm back in SE Iowa. I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and concept behind this establishment. I've mostly gone there for lunch or coffee, but it seems like a good place to get a beer or to study. If I were a student I would probably go there to do both at the same time. I hope this place is able to stay open for a long time.
