Love to come here great food but you need to find what you like first. The beer here is always fresh and ice cold, try to sit in the bar during their happy hour for good deals. Almost always get boneless honey bbq wings they are tasty! The chili con queso is a must try here. Get their soft pretzels with queso and marinara it's a great combo. We generally try to sit in the bar have gotten pretty good service every time

It's a good thing the Parmesan garlic wings are so good. Had some fried pickles and chips w/queso for appetizers. Took a long time to get them and the pickles were warm at best. There were 6 of us at the table and when our meals came no fries with one of them and one whole order missing. When they finally brought it out it was a wrap not a sandwich like was ordered. 45 minutes later she finally got her meal, but by then everyone else was done. Took it in a to go box. They did comp the missing meal but charged us for the missing fries. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!! Pretty much used up all their second chances with us.

Although I already had dinner prepared, a tuesday wing night craving had us venturing out to eat anyway. For .60 a wing, you can choose from any of the traditional flavors. This location, like most I've been to across the country was just average service and seemingly way over staffed. Why are there so many people working there all the time?? Nothing wrong with the food, standard wings and apps for us. Wings weren't too saucy which was a plus, I hate when they are drowning in the sauce. BWW is a good place to get cheap wings on Tuesday and watch sports on the big TVs. Average food and average service, but an easy draw because they are a well established chain. I will probably continue to come here once in a while when we get that wing itch.

Went in tonight for dinner. There were maybe 4 other people eating and at least 7 servers. We sat and waited for someone to bring us menus and ask what we'd like to drink for 10 minutes before we left. Pitiful employess. If I could give them no stars I would. Never bringing my business to this location again

Having ate at multiple Bdubs around the country I can say this one is no different food wise. The food is always good and the menu is extensive enough for anyone to get something they would like to eat. I've been to Bdubs near college campuses before and can say being in Ankeny, this location does not get the large groups of college kids there to hangout to watch the game. The crowd here mainly consists of families who enjoy sport themed restaurants, not too many younger people. This location is always busy, but I have never had to wait for a seat so that's a plus. The parking is easy here, tons of spots. Staff is friendly and food comes out of the kitchen in a fair amount of time. I come here often when I want my spicy wing fix.

A great B-Dubs! We love coming here to catch a game or any Tuesday or Thursday for the wing specials. We always sit at the bar and Austa is always our awesome server. Decent beer selection, although I wish they had more local and craft options!

Service varies. Can be inconsistent with wait staff. However, food & price is always good. Great happy hour specials. Lots of coupons. Always clean.

I've been to several other BWWs, and this one is by far the lamest. 3 reasons... 1. It's small. Smaller than a normal BWWs. 2. It's bright. Why would you have the lights so bright in a bar? 3. I really don't have a 3rd reason, although there probably is one. It's basically a lame BWWs. Go there once a year for a wing craving or to watch a sporting event you can't get at home, but stay away if you're looking for a fun place to hang out.

Went today for their Tuesday Wing Special. $.60 a wing, which is much cheaper than what you would normally pay for their wings any other time (usually around $1 a wing). Place was packed as you could probably imagine. Having said that, I was somewhat surprised that so many people were still at the Restaurant around 12:30 PM when we arrived (place opens at 11 AM). I mention this because you probably have a window of between 1 PM (50% or more of the lunch crowd were gone by then) and around 3 or 3:30 PM if you're looking to avoid a big crowd and get better service. It took 10-15 minutes for my beer to arrive, and another 15-20 for my brother and I's wing orders to arrive. Wings were hot (almost too hot temperature-wise to eat; I let them cool down a little), and very good! Had three different flavors (Mango Habanero; Parmesan Garlic- my personal favorite; Asian Zing- probably my next favorite sauce), and if you're a "wing connoisseur" (did I just say connoisseur? LOL :) ) , then there's not too many better choices (yes there's Mary Go Round and Gerri's Tavern to name a couple high on my list) for Wings in Central Iowa. They also have a promotion on Thursday for Boneless Wings. I'm guessing they too would be $.60 per wing? From my experience today (good but not great), I know that from now on I'll go on Tuesday afternoons after 1 PM (avoid the lunch crowd and get in and out before the Happy Hour/dinner crowd comes in). The waitress was a sweetheart, and doing the best she could under the circumstances, but I was made to feel like I couldn't order more wings if I wanted to. People often rate the restaurants they go to here simply on the service they receive, but they neglect the fact that if a restaurant is busy, there's always the possibility that you'll be left with an impression that you're not valued as a customer. My experience today was far from that, but when a waitress doesn't ask me if I'd like to order another beer or more wings when they have a promotion like this, I have to factor it into my review.

No rating for this place. Not even 1 star for crappy service, fried batter instead of a wing and no drink refills. And we got charged for stuff we didn't order. Guess he gave it to his friends who he gushes over at the table next to us.

Love this place! Eat with Jodi, Ashley N, Rachel W or Ana! They are the best people there! So nice and always have good service!

I've been frequenting BW3's since traveling it's home in the Twin Cities in college. I was thrilled when they opened in Ankeny. This location has been a popular rallying point for friends and I for over a year when looking for a place to watch hockey games on TV. Due to their large number of TVs we've never worried about being able to catch. It's usually fairly crowded. On Saturday we stopped here for the sole purpose of watching game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals. Unfortunately the world championship of hockey was relegated to one period on two small TVs. Apparently this is a big UFC hangout, which I respect. They've got the NTN Trivia which has proven over the years to be a lot of fun as you can compete against other patrons in the building and nationwide. There's a pretty extensive menu featuring a lot of items beyond wings. But for me the wings are the reason I choose to come here. I would recommend that you stick with the traditional meat on the bone wings and pass on the boneless variety. The latest batch I had of the boneless seemed to be mostly very hard breading. The sauces are superb and you can mix-and-match your order with various sauces.

Good time, had boneless wings, great bartender. Hard to stop and not spend 50$. We like to play trivia

Not bad, for what it is - a sports bar with an extensive menu of wings and beer. There's not much to the atmosphere - it's basically just one big room, with only five booths and the rest of the seating in tables, plus a bar behind a half wall. Lots and lots of TVs for sports, but we were also pretty excited that they're hooked into buzzline trivia - we got our game controller and played for a long time. This effectively distracted us from the fact that the food wasn't really that good. Here's what we tried: Breaded garlic mushrooms - meh. I had two that were still frozen in the middle - good dipping sauce, boring breading. Breaded mushrooms aren't good when they're not piping hot and liquidy inside. Potato wedges with cheese - seemed like they had been sitting awhile. Not much seasoning, rubbery cheese on top, and the overcooked potatoes themselves were falling apart. 6 wings with garlic BBQ sauce - OK. The sauce felt thick and solidified, just wasn't that great. French fries -so salty we could barely eat them without gulping down water. They actually would have been pretty good if they hadn't been so oversalted. Coleslaw - decent. 6 wings with hot BBQ sauce - the best thing we had. This was the best sauce, although I was irked that you get blue cheese OR celery free - not both. Don't they know every other restaurant gives you both?? Ribs - ugh. Just terrible. Very little sauce on them, very fatty, and the sauce that we could taste was bland and unflavorful. I know this is a wing joint (and a chain to boot), but there is no excuse for serving bad ribs when you are in the midwest. The wings were pretty well-priced, and were probably the only thing we tried that we would actually order again - simply because we liked the hot BBQ sauce. I think it's great to have a nice big sports bar like this in Ankeny, but I do think its value is purely as a sports bar and I probably wouldn't eat here again. That said, our beers were awfully expensive - nearly $6 each - so even with the added draw of trivia, I am not sure we'll be back anytime soon. The highlight of our evening was when a table full of little league players came in and joined the ongoing trivia game. We learned quickly that they were listening in on our discussions for clues to the right answers, so we started purposefully shouting out the wrong answers to throw them off. I know, I know... but it was funny.

A small group from work went for lunch. Even though they weren't busy it took over an hour just to eat. Very poor service, i will say the wings are pretty good. I prefer the Asian sauce.

After living in Buffalo, NY for a couple of years, it feels good to have a little taste of my time there. Buffalo Wild Wings has a decent little franchise in Ankeny. 2 things to note. I only order wings. I usually order Asian Zing, Medium, Jerk, or Mild wings when not on wings/legs night. (if you go, get every flavor and try it. I go crazy with every flavor on those nights) Food is good, but service can be a little slow here. The place seems to be packed every Fri or Sat night. Reasons to go: 1. Wings are awesome with flavors no one has. They are also more authentic than any other joints around. 2. Beer in schooners at decent prices. Can also get Labatt (ahhh Buffalo) 3. Trivia.
