One of the best places to eat in Hawaii. Nothing there is bad.

Food is always consistently good at every single location... I love that EVERYTHING on the menu can be ordered any time of day!

This review is for ALL the Zippy's. First of all, I must say that the food is good. But the reason Im giving them 1 star is because of ALL the price increases that have been done over the years. Its just not that affordable anymore, especially if you have a family. A family of 4 could pay as much as $40 for one meal. Thats ridiculous! Not only has the food gotten more expensive, but I think portions have gotten smaller too. Ive boycotted Zippys for years now and I dont plan on going back. The only time that I get anything from Zippy's is if someone buys it for me. Yes, Im a cheapskate but in this economy...id rather go to a Korean bbq place and spend almost the same amount but get 3x as much food!

This place was pretty good but I'm only giving it 3 stars because the service was really slow. It's the standard Zippy's fare. The place was pretty empty so I don't think people are aware yet that the Zippy's in Wahiawa has an indoor eating area now (awesome!!). The waitress was very nice but disappeared after she gave us our bills. We waited for a few minutes (about 10) but finally decided to just leave the checks on our table. She came back a few minutes before we left which was one less worry since half of our party paid in cash. One plus is since this place was empty we could be as loud as we wanted to and we were pretty loud.

I have the best man in the entire universe. Ladies, be prepared to be jealous as I recount the sentence that almost had me in tears of joy, love and gratitude after he uttered it. "Baby, you don't need to watch your figure. I love you no matter what you look like. You'll always be sexy to me." WoooHooo! I got the pass! The golden ticket to forsaking the gym in lieu of high calorie, delicious foods! What inspired this declaration of love? It's simple really. The way I was looking at my delectable grilled cheese sandwich and shoveling chili and rice into my mouth. He thought that was AWESOME! It was. That grilled cheese sandwich has me dreaming of it's creamy, cheesy, buttery, toasty goodness and the chili and rice is pure comfort food. But the way I KNOW he was utterly sincere is that he gave me the LAST bite of his grilled cheese sandwich. He gets me! He really gets me!

I had Steak & Eggs with Guava juice to wash it down. The steak was succulent. The eggs and hasbrowns were good. Waitress was helpful. Good experience as usual.

Consistently a-ok food for those times when you don't know where else to go to eat. Over the years, it seems like Zippy's as well as some popular fast food chains are downsizing the quantity of food. The zip pac for instance seems to get smaller each year. Still, it is a good place to go, where the food is almost always consistent.

This is for Wahiawa Zippy's: Zippy's Wahiawa somehow beats all the other Zippy's I've gone to in central / Leeward Oahu. I know the food supposedly comes from the same place, but the prep of food at Wahiawa seems better than most. The workers are usually cool too. I like sitting on the restaurant side. I remember when they used to have a bar! I've been going to Wahiawa Zippy's all my life, and it's a nice place to go that's comfortable, low-key, and not too expensive. Favorite food items: Their tossed salad with their house dressing is great. Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Clubhouse Sandwich, Spaghetti, Wonton Min, Hot Fudge Sundae, Banana Royale, the brownie sundae... all pretty good. Napoleon's bakery makes great lemon bars too. It's convenient since they aren't too expensive, they're usually 24 hours, or at least open late if they aren't 24 hours, and they have all kinds of items on the menu, so it's easy for everyone to pick something to eat. I used to love ordering the Boca Burger, but am now left with the veggie tofu patty when I feel like being healthy. I also miss their onion bun.. it was so ono with the mushroom burger... but now they have the potato bun, which i'm not too jazzed about. Also good items: jello parfait, jello with whipped cream, omelettes, hash browns... yum. Lots of great stuff to eat.

Terrible customer service. You have to wave down any server you see to get a drink refilled... Multiple times. Seems like they just hire anyone and everyone

I gave this three stars because the people who work here are very friendly and it doesn't take very long to get your food. The food is bland and boring at best; no serious flavor is going to kick you in the booty ;P It's chain restaurant level food; what more can I say?

Lunch time in Wahiawa town! Taking a break from trying out some of Wahiawa's local hole in the wall restaurants I decided to try their Zippy's. After so many times of passing by this place I think it was time for me to try this place out. The service here was good, I was greeted by a nice old lady who kindly showed me to my seat and she always came by when we needed anything. While trying to avoid ordering more than what I can eat again, preventing from being food drunk as Adam from Man vs. Food would use and getting the sleeping itis I decided to just keep it small. I ordered their soup of the day which was claim chowder and for the main meal was a mushroom burger with onion rings on the side. Both tasted good. This place is alright. I'm not 100% sure this is the Zippys I went to. Fried chicken and chili mini plate was delicious. The fried chicken was better than the one I got at the Paradise Cove luau. I was famished and the meal was satisfying on my appetite and my wallet.

I'll probably end up missing after this yelp for being local and writing about a local haven that's been around for centuries. What is the big deal about Zippy's? Yes, it used to be way better when I was in high school because you can go to any zippy's, order and hang out and talk story. The food was okay back then but it's still the same food today and the prices is way higher. Take a look at the Zip Pac. Half of what we used to get and almost double the price. I can't wait until one day my kids is going to ask me for a loan and I'm going to ask what for? They'll say they want to eat dinner at Zippy's.

CHICKEN CHILI MIX PLATE CHICKEN CHILI MIX PLATE CHICKEN CHILI MIX PLATE!!!!!!!!!!!! That's all I ate every single time we went. Oh yeah and ORANGE BANG ORANGE BANG ORANGE BANG!!!!!!!!!!!! Except for the other time I also ordered a PORTUGUESE OMELETTE SANDWICH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No need worry...everything here is ono anyways...

Zippy's is a strong contender for the most bland and unoriginal restaurant chain on the island. It has all the cultural sophistication of spam and rice. The menu items are far from healthy and are all very basic meals. I give Zippy's two stars because their employees are friendly and because it never takes the cooks long to prepare the food. Zippy's makes Denny's look like the restaurant of a 4 or 5 star hotel.

I usually order the korean fried chicken meal and at this particular location, the chicken pieces were extra crispy which I love. Along with this meal I ordered a side of chili cheese fries (chili is off the hook compared to Rainbows) and comes with a side of macaroni salad. On a side note, make sure you get the sauce on the side to avoid fried chicken sogginess.

The only Zippy's that I ate at with good service. Food is not very good the price is not very good either. But for some weird reason Zippy's is one of my faves. I guess it's the plate lunch thing. I love the chili and apple napples.

We did not like this place. We were looking for a breakfast place and ended up here. We should have driven a little longer and found something better. We both got a basic breakfast...eggs, meat and rice/hashbrowns. I had the brown rice, egg over easy, and sausage. The food was greasy and the sausage was too salty. My husband had scrambled eggs, hasbrowns and sausage and said it was overly greasy, something he doesn't usually complain about. Definitely the worst breakfast we had on the island! Also, service was bad, unless you are a local, then they were nice and friendly.

I need one of these restaurants back home! Literally, almost anything you can think of that you want from an American restaurant they have but with a Hawaiian flare! I had the loco moco which was phenomenal, but really made me felt like my artery was clogging. As far as the other dishes, I'm sure they're good but I was there for one dish and one dish only!

My boyfriend raved about the chill from Zippys. I'm from LA and his girlfriend use to bring the chilli back to LA for him. I followed one of the other reviewers and tried the Chilli Chicken mixed plate. My bf loved it but I love Tommy burger's chilli more though it is exclusively in southern CA. I hate beans so I didn't enjoy it as much but but fried chicken was wonderfully crispy and tasty. I'd give it another try without the beans when I come back. Napoleon bakery was right next to this Zippy's. I can't remember what desserts we ordered but one has apple and the other was blueberry? Both were delicious and flaky!

I love Zippy's but this one always seems a little dirty in the dining area. The bakery and take out is great.

Zippy's... I swear the prices have slowly creeped higher and higher and higher over the last 5 years. The portions haven't increased, and on some plates, they've gotten smaller. ??? Zippy's is great after a night at the club, or when nothing else is open. They have some good food... but sadly it's overpriced and the quality isn't there anymore. I don't eat very many items from Zippy's. Last night we ordered a zip pac, korean chicken, loco moco, and portuguese bean soup. The zip pac is probably the item I order the most often from Zippy's. To me it's the best bento on the island. Teri beef, spam, deep fried breaded fish (hoki), and a deep fried chicken thigh. Furikake on the rice. SMELLS so good and tastes good when it's made to order. There's something about the chicken at Zippy's. It's juicy (when fresh) and unique... I haven't tasted chicken from anywhere else that compares to this chicken thigh. The zip pac is almost $9 now... crazzyyy!!!! But I paid for it. So that's on me lol. The korean chicken is good. The portion is hit or miss. It's never consistent to me. It's either you get a lot, or not enough. The pieces of chicken are deep fried and then cut up and tossed in the korean sauce; a sweet but spicy dark shoyu type of sauce. Pretty good! I don't care for a loco moco but my boyfriend likes it. The patty has onions in it which I don't care for and I think the gravy is too heavy. But that's just my taste buds. He loves it and thinks it's great. Portuguese bean soup is tasty on a cold night. Ham hock, sausage, macaroni, carrots, potatoes, etc... full of flavor! People will always go to Zippy's. Most locations are 24 hours and like I said, after the club, or a late workout, or an outing where not much else is open except for fast food, your next stop truly will be Zippy's lol. The food is okay. The service is good. We always take-out since the take-out side is not air conditioned at Wahiawa. Decent place for your late night hunger fix!

We had the fried chicken mini pak, chili and rice, lau lau drink. The drink was good, but the rest was mediocre.

Fried Chicken, Spaghetti and Chili. Odd combination, but it worked. I don't know what it was, but I found myself back at Zippy's a second time during our stay in Hawaii. I can't recall the food being great, but it was good. Plus it's fast food and it's cheap. And for that... I give it 4 stars.

    (4)
  • tiffany c.

I love zippy's. I usually get the chili with rice bowl with cheese and its under $5. Thats a great price for Hawaii. I also love the spaghetti. Yum.

Eating at Zippys at one in the morning is great. Good food after a night out on the town is something everyone needs to experience when visiting Hawaii. Its good comfort food and there's a lot of great Hawaiian fare to choose from. Spam dishes, katsu, eggs, etc. Crazy delicious!

This is the place for my family and I. We ALWAYS come here. It's literally our second home now. Whenever we come, we always get from a range of their chili with beans, cheeseburgers, chili and cheese fries, and korean chicken. The lilikoi juice, lemon bars, and dream cake are also my favorites as well. The employees are always very nice to us and literally remember our "usual" order. Thanks Zippy's for being the best!

not so delicious miso garlic chicken... made even tastier when I saw an employee stick his hand under his shirt then start with belly scratch up to armpit scratching. then he walked into kitchen. delicious. on other hand our waitress tried her best.

I haven't been to Zippy's in a while and wanted chicken katsu. When I received it, the portion was so skimpy. I think the next time I get a craving for chicken katsu, I will go to L & L Drive In

  • Kawailani L.

Love that they always get my order right. And its around $10. My hamburger Teri steak plate with the two scoop rice and one scoop Mac salad. With extra Teri sauce on the side. Other Zippys charge me like .45 cents but Wahiawa Zippys only charge me .10 cents. Love that, the only thing is waiting like 10 to 15 min because of the hamburger. So I usually call it in before I get there so its ready when I come to pick up my fav. Plate from zippys The staff is pretty nice, parking is great. Just hate when it gets really packed, but that just shows I'm not the only who loves Zippys Wahiawa.

Zippy's Wahiawa! Of all the Zippy's I have been to, this is my favorite. For the most part, all the food is the same for me at any location. While the ambiance may be better at other locations, I am a fan of this one. The staff here was always friendly and nice and never had a problem for us hanging here for hours yip yapping about who knows what. Mac salad. and the Portuguese sausage are my favs. Spaghetti is staple. Great place to stop and get your grub chill with your friends. Not the best of places..but a great place to chill. Gotta love Wahiawa!

Debated if I should give this place a 1 or 2 so I gave a 2 for the waitress who served us. Came in here W my husband, sister and our two friends. When we came in, no host/Tess in sight. Waited there for a minute or two and a zippys worker who looked like the host just walked right pass us, not even greeting us or anything. She came back, still no greeting or anything or acknowledgement. So my sister decided to say something and said "For 5". Then this bitch had the nerve to give attitude back and sass my sister saying "I know, for 5". Well then bitch next time say something to us, we can't read your stupid mind. Couple minutes later, another zippys worker asked if we been helped and I told her ummmmm I think we are because that bitch said she seen us for 5 and they were getting our table ready. So I also said out loud in front of two other customers who were seated that that damn hostess didn't even greet us or anything. Such bad customer service. My sister and I are locals and my husband and his two friends are in the military (army). Talk about giving attitude to people who serve your country bitch. Without them, Hawaii would be NOTHING. Bitch better calm her ass down or she definitely would of have got her ass beat from me and my sister. Anyway long story short food suck. Never ordering the garlic chicken again. My unsweetened tea was horrible and had it switched out with another drink. Service was okay. Could of been better from our waitress. Just felt sorry for her because I had to change my new drink out again because my husband idiot friend put shouyu in it as a joke.

The food is so Ono!!! So much to choose from on their menu! This will definitely be one of my main stops for any occasion! The dessert menu is awesome! They have the bakery right outside if you want to take a whole cake/pie home You can't go wrong with this place!!

Good experience at the Zippy's by the dole plantation. Very good island eggs, fried rice, Portuguese sausage, and Zippy's famous chili. Did like the chili more than other places on this trip. Love the full bakery that they had next door too to take things to go. Saw a few reviews talking about the "sleepy" service but I didn't mind it. Servers are older but pleasant. Would come to this location again.

I've been coming to this particular Zippy's for awhile now. I realized I had yet to write a review on Zippy's. So on that note here it goes! First of all I would like to mention that I had the best server ever!! The servers name is Charmaine. She was nice, fun and very professional. She got our order in and our food came out quick! The quality of the food was excellent. My husband loves the chicken katzu here. Parking is nice here as well. They have their own parking lot with plenty of spaces. We had no problem but then again it was breakfast time. Don't get me wrong the parking lot can fill up at dinner time! Also the restaurant and the to go area was very clean. All the staff was kind and respectful. Also don't forget Napoleon bakery is located here as well. I love the apple Napples especially when they are fresh!

Normalita the front cashier has a heavy Hawaiian talk... in other words make sure she has your order right or you will not get what you ask for. She still fixed my order after I saw it wasn't what I asked for. Took 15 mins to make food. Average service The restaurant side was suppose to be open by 0600 but looks like no one in there and its past 0700. The chill is good.... Uhhg the toast I have is horrible... old bread.... They have Hawaiian music playing in back ground here. Not super busy at 7am. Has plenty of parking but could be filled quickly. I would love to give this place 4 stars but seems like any other Zippys I habe been to and nothing special to get my attention for extra star. In other words, workers were average not inviting, place average cleanliness, food average, and missing stuff to put on my rice. Has a main road right outside front door that makes one feel like they are in the middle of the highway.... cause I the open front area. KINDA loud. I would still come back again, Its a place to eat at again. Hopefully next time alittle more ONo aloha spirt put into ordering food they would get 4 stars. As I have been sitting inside Zippys for last few mins an old lady just dropped a glass cup on group and 2 workers came and cleaned it up quickly and helped out old lady... maybe I'll move it up to 4 stars.

While on vacation I decided to roam through Wahiawa because I was leaving North Shore and wanted to see a different part of the island. With no other vegetarian places in the vicinity, I decided to stop by here because I read they had a tofu veggie burger. Well that burger sucked! It's like they scrambled the tofu and then tossed some processed veggies in it, compressed it into a patty, soaked it in water, then put it in a microwave thus completing it's preparation for my consumption. Every time I took a bite it sprayed watery juice onto my less than satisfactory french fries (freedom, dammit). The service was good, but this place felt just too much like a very poorly executed Denny's ripoff. If you're a tourist, looking for something vegetarian in Wahiawa, take the bus back to Waialua and eat at The Beet Box or just go to the store and eat some cold, raw vegetables or a salad. Isn't that all vegetarians eat anyways?

My favorites here are the fried chicken, chili and rice, and Korean chicken. But Zippy's has really gotten quite pricy for what they're serving (taste and quality is just ok) so I usually rather spend my money somewhere else where I'll feel like I'm getting better value.

We were seated promptly and the waitress was friendly and responsive, beyond that, the experience here is terrible. Nothing was seasoned, everything was bland. The mahi mahi was crisp, but there was no flavor. I drowned it in lemons. The corn was stone cold and it was obvious that it came out of the can. Again, bland. The gravy for the mashed potatoes was clearly a canned gravy. The tartar sauce was gross looking. Old and canned. My wife had the tofu burger. It was drenched in oil. The garlic fries looked EXACTLY like the Trader Joe's bag of garlic fries (yes I know no TJs are here). Yes, I'm visiting from my native NYC, but this isn't an elitist NYer talking about food. I just want flavorful and fresh food. Is that too much to ask?

This Zippy's has a proper sit-down restaurant with A/C in addition to the usual to-go or al fresco dining area so it makes a good place especially for breakfast. Most if the servers have been here for many years and will remember what you like without the need of any menu. The service is always friendly and breakfast in particular is good but will cost around $12 do it's not cheap but I keep coming back for the home-style(ish) taste and warm smiles.

This is our family's favorite to go spot. Zippy's provides a wonderful variety of foods. They have it all from starters (pupu) to main dishes to my kids favorite which is dessert. Their bakery is best in the mornings but if you can't get here early enough you might be lucky to come in for dinner and get some doughnuts or tasty variety of malasadas (plain or filled with custard, chocolate, if haupia) FYI: some pastries are cheaper if purchased by the dozen. They have a dine in area or if you don't want someone waiting on you they also have an area where you can enjoy the outdoors and eat outside. There are some dishes that are only served inside and vice versa so you better double check before ordering. Don't panic of you can't get what you want. Just go inside, order, and have them pack it to go so you can eat it outside... And if you want something only made outside then order it and bring it in.... It's kind of weird but at least you can get what you want this way.... Enjoy.

Zippys should be called sleepys. I am a tourist, just visiting, but always respectful. And that may attribute to the poor service. I had to find the waitress to get our order, find the waitress for refills and the place was not crowded. Ask for a box, get an eye roll. We did notice the locals got a lot of attention but we were sat in the back alone, like second class citizens. Food was Mcquality with an extra dash of greese. No need for goodbyes, still left a good tip. To sum this place up. Food = Crap Service = Crap Clean ...OK, clean enough...2 stars

My boyfriends family lives out in Wahiawa so Zippys is often our go to dinner spot. 90% of the time when we come here we have unfortunately had some terrible service. We typically sit for way too long waiting for our food and something is always forgotten or doesn't make it's way to the correct plate. One time I ordered the cornbread & chili and the cornbread was never even written down. I wound up getting it 20 minutes later which was useless & the last time we got take out, they just made the dish wrong. But anyway, this last time we actually got all of our food correctly, in a timely manner and our waitress looked mildly happy. I got the hot turkey sandwich which I thought used to be open faced. I did think it was tasty but I felt like it needed that later if bread gone so the gravy can get soaked in the turkey. The complete meal allowed me a salad and some yummy banana cream pie. My boyfriend got chicken katsu saimin which was ginormous. Zippys is never a fancy experience but we left full and satisfied which is what we pay for. By the way, now serving beer cheap! ;)

I'm a zippys first timer. It was pretty good. I enjoyed my chili cheese fries and my mahi mahi sandwich was crispy and flavorful. My server was a sweet older lady. This place is nothing really special but I do like the chili. Might get it again before leaving the island!

Waited over a half an hour for our food. Many people who ordered after us had the same amount of food ordered & the same food yet got theirs first. Took off the covers of the plates to find tiny shriveled food and that my corned beef has was burnt. I figured that was the burning smell that was overwhelming the table. Nope, it was my coffee - old and horrible like they boiled more water in the burnt pot to make "coffee." I can only recommend that you do a phone order, not get coffee or only order items made in mass.

My favorite Zippy's of the entire island. I always stop on the way home from the airport to the North Shore for some Korean fried chicken or a Zip-min. Zippy's does things right. Affordable food, local grinds, local flavors, nice staff, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Always hits the spot. Exactly what you need to re-familiarize yourself with Hawaii.

I live in Wahiawa, so its easy to say that I've eaten at Zippys quite a few times, but it was always by choice of another family member. I remember this place being much more tasteful when I was a kid. Food is overpriced. Food is "eh" Usually dirty Service - most of the time don't have much patience. If I go, I would get a teri-beef burger. They are known for chili, but I don't like chili and I know it is good based on my family members. Breakfast is way overpriced for what you get, go to Koa Pancake House instead.. Not a fan. P.S. if you have read some of my other review I'm very gracious in my reviews and stars, but everytime I eat here i'm disappointed and my stomach is sore from grease.

I have dined here a few time now since my career path has me working up in this neck of the woods a couple days a week. Quite often, my lunch buddy and I make the trip to Zippy's since we always think of it as one of our top 3 options in Wahiawa. Having said that, today was just not the day! I ordered the Tempura Cod plate and was so looking forward to it. I had tried this at several other Zippy's locations and had always been pleased with the results. So naturally, I thought I couldnt go wrong. It went WRONG...way wrong! First off, it was the wait for my food coming out of the kitchen. My friend's Ox Tail Soup came out a whole 7 minutes before my order. Then, when my plate did come out...it looked like my order was a mistake? Instead of a plate with 3 pieces of tempura battered cod filets, I received 5 or 6 pieces of fried chicken looking, barely battered dry fish pieces. The texture of the fish was so over cooked that it looked more like TINAPA (Filipino smoked fish). My french fries looked and tasted like they were cooked, cooled and then refried in oil...just to freshen them up. They were SOOOOOOO greasy! Nasty! The best thing on the plate was my steamed brocolli. I must say that we did love our server. She was perfectly kind and understanding. Apologizing profusely, she did her best to get me my order of Spaghetti boxed and ready to go. Sucks when this happens, but this time the kitchen was defintely having an off day.

Come here for local favorites like oxtail soup, chili, or saimin (ramen). This is the closest Zippy's to the North Shore and always a good choice for a satisfying meal. Choose from cafeteria-style self service or table service (table service is obviously a little more expensive). I come here for the Korean fried chicken (fried chicken tossed in a sweet and spicy shoyu sauce with green onions). For $7.25 the small Korean fried chicken meal also includes rice and a side salad. There is a larger meal size for those with bigger appetites. Zippy's is great about making accommodations for those on a diet--such as substituting brown for white rice--but vegetarians beware, few veggie only options are offered. They serve salads and I'm not aware of much more veggie dishes. All around, this is a nice way to end your day at the beach.

I've eaten there several times. I can't say there is anything special about the food, and for sure, I cannot recommend the Mahi Mahi. It was tough and greasy--certainly not worth the price.

I LOOOOVE ZIPPY'S! Omg, thank you soooo much fellow yelpers. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have found this gem. I'm definitely coming back on my paydays and blow my whole paycheck here. I think i'll just have enough for the tip being that I make $500 a paycheck, WOO-HOO! Also, I never have large appetites, so less food is best food. I'm okay with smaller portions because your food is DA BOMB!!! (H) eaven on earth. (E) arth on heaven. (A) ll five stars. (V) ictory. (E) minent is not the word. (N) othing compares to you.

Talk about having a variety of local foods. I think I've eaten everything on the menu. But my few favorite dishes that I would recommend to non-Zippy's patrons: Zip Pac, Surf Pac (if you don't like mahi mahi), chili w/ rice (no-beans), saimin, mini spaghetti w/ garlic bread and korean chicken. The bakery has tasty pastries and one of the best dream cakes I've ever had. My favorite pastry "ensemada". Yup! All that butter and sugar. Large parking structure. Always a great place to hang out with friends. Dine in the restaurant or eat in the take out section. Prices has increased a lot but at least the service is always awesome and a very clean facility. The only time I see it get really messy is after an LHS event. Zippy's, Oh how I miss you. I wish San Diego had Zippy's.

Kid friendly, nice variety and friendly service. This is always a first stop after arriving and checking into Auntie & Uncle's B&B and usually a stop again before we leave. My local friends tend to take Zippy's for granted. It's def better than Cocos, Marie Callendars. Where else on the mainland can I order chili with rice or oxtail soup? I really enjoyed the oxtail soup here. Yes, it's kinda fatty (which I removed a lot of it) but the flavor was really tasty. I ordered it with brown rice which is always a plus for me. No room for dessert. However, the prices are so high here now. What happened Zippy's? You used to be reasonably priced!

I have been to this Zippy's numerous times. Zippy's food is all the same so I will just review on service and parking. The employees at the take out and inside are all very friendly. I often call my order in for lunch and pick it up and it is always ready very quickly. I can also always find parking here so that is a big plus. This review is for the Napoleon Bakery that is right next to Zippys. They offer Pastries, Fresh made to order Malasadas (its like churro dough only not rolled out so more doughy), Pies, doughnuts, eclairs and the list goes on. I got the guava pastry which was just the right amount of sweetness, flaky crust, and the guava was so unique tasting and delicious. If you walk a few steps down from the bakery side, you will end up at another counter and can order lunch items. Go the other direction and you are inside Zippys restaurant and you can have a sit down meal. So make sure to stop by Napoleon's bakery when you are driving through town!

When: June 29, 2011 Location: Wahiawa Hawaii! Company: My right hand man, Christopher.. Crowd: Locals and tourist Decor: An ordinary fast food joint.. Service: Friendly.. Love: Macaroni Salad Hate: How people talk about how great these Malasadas are, which really were so oily that my boyfriend and I broke out the next day! Total: $15.00 Side note: Me: Mini Katsu Chicken which wasn't terrible. Preferably would rather go to L&L. Chris: Mahi Sandwich.. Had fries that tasted like they could be from McDonalds. Malasadas: Oily and wasn't that good.

WOW! I frequent Zippy's every week or two and am just thankful that this is the one that I DON'T usually go to. Where do I begin? I walked in the door (at 2 pm) and there was a line. It was not busy and all of the staff looked at each other like what do we do? How about seating people? My turn comes up and I didn't realize the hostess was talking to me. She looked annoyed and said "for one?" raising up her hand like "hello I am talking to you." She was rude. My waitress on the other hand was nice...but...I didn't get my order for 20 minutes. I ordered bacon, eggs, and toast. Apparently they forgot to make it because literally she went back to the kitchen and yelled at the staff and said "where is my breakfast? The lady is sitting out there waiting. Hurry up!" She came back out to me and told me "ughhh I gotta go Papakolea to get your food. It will be just a moment." When I got the food she served my wheat toast instead of white. She did fix it immediately. The eggs looked disgusting. I ordered egg whites. They should have been called egg browns because that is the color they were. This was not a great Zippy's experience. I am glad that Kaneohe Zippy's has better service.

I gave this three stars because the people who work here are very friendly and it doesn't take very long to get your food. The food is bland and boring at best; no serious flavor is going to kick you in the booty ;P It's chain restaurant level food; what more can I say?

I'm not 100% sure this is the Zippys I went to. Fried chicken and chili mini plate was delicious. The fried chicken was better than the one I got at the Paradise Cove luau. I was famished and the meal was satisfying on my appetite and my wallet.

    (1)
  • Blanche L.

  • Tom H.

They should change their name to Rippy's,! Everything is overpriced and the portions are so small that you are still hungry after eating there. To top it off most of the food tastes like crap! Don't eat here unless you and your wallet want to lose weight!

I'm not 100% sure this is the Zippys I went to. Fried chicken and chili mini plate was delicious. The fried chicken was better than the one I got at the Paradise Cove luau. I was famished and the meal was satisfying on my appetite and my wallet.
