We purposely avoided eating at mainland establishments while on Maui. However due to a poor experience at Kihei Aloha Ice Cream the night before, we went with a sure thing at Coldstone. We showed up right before closing but the worker was kind, friendly, and accommodating. They have great coffee ice cream and great service.

Been here. Bunch of times but this recent visit was the worst. They have a brand new girl making the ice cream and the portions were super small. Like I said. Been here a bunch. This girl still needs lots of training but she's left alone making the ice cream and cashiering. She doesn't even know how to ring up 2 smalls and a medium without asking for help. Not her fault, The management. The manager was in there when we walked in but went to the back soon as we got to the counter. After I and the rest of the customers left then he can!e back out. Douche should be shadowing his employees.

Great ice cream but place could use more staff. Since its not just a scoop and serve ice cream place orders can take awhile. My fav is the apple pie ala cold stone. This last time I tried the strawberry banana rendezvous and that was very good.

We have one of these places back home in Canada but I've never been until now. I was expecting a better selection of ice cream flavors, as well as a better price point. I've seen lots of shaved ice around and decided to try it here. It was quite nice and the selection of flavors and toppings are better than for the ice cream. I created something tasty! I liked the strawberry juice balls a lot. The texture of the ice was quite flaky, not smooth, but a generous scoop of ice cream was included. Overall, I felt neutral about the value vs price point. It did not blow my mind but this could work for someone else :)

This cold stone is one of the worst I have been in. if it wasn't so near my house I would never go there, but the kids like the shakes. the staff I have encountered are high school kids who would rather talk about their weekend plans than customer service. the young lady was perturbed that I interrupted her and her coworkers conversation about drinking this weekend. The only reason I went in there was for their shakes. ordered 6 large shakes, waited about 10 mins then the employee told me they have no milk, no milk? you're right next to a Safeway, no milk should never be in an ice cream stores vocabulary. The employee then told me I should pay for the scoops of ice cream in the cups. I will not return, will just save the time and money by going to Safeway and getting the half gallons and do it it myself. Will no longer recommend for kihei little league events.

I had ordered a custom cake for my daughter's 16th birthday party online, and received an e-mail confirmation on Nov 11. On Nov 20 or 21, I called the store to reconfirm the order and was told all was ok. When I arrived at the store on Sat, Nov 24 to pick up the cake, I was told the cake had not been made because the order was for Mon Nov 26. The three young ladies working the store offered no apology, and were indignant that I was upset. When I asked for an apology, one said "I'm not sorry." They denied any personal responsibility, said it was my problem because the date was wrong. The only thing they offered was that I could come back Monday for the cake I ordered (two days after the party at my home) or I could go "look in the book" to find a standard cake they might have in the back. They did say I could get my money back, but otherwise their lack of customer service skills was among the worst experiences I have ever had... I travel constantly and am exposed to thousands of customer service people every year. I have been a loyal shopper at this ColdStone but my experience was so disappointing, I don't know if I can ever give them my business again. I left the store without any cake, practically in tears, and had to tell my daughter that she would not be getting the cake she specifically wanted for her birthday party. I asked for the phone number of the manager, which was scribbled on a scrap of paper, and is virtually illegible. I was told, "He's not in town anyway, so you can't reach him." The manager of this store needs to provide training for his people! Mistakes do happen, but there is a right way and a wrong way to handle those mistakes, and diffuse a bad situation. These ladies only succeeded in making me more upset.

Located right between Safeway and a Borders Express is the Kihei Cold Stone. When we went there the stored smelled like fresh baked cookies, and the ice cream scoopers told us they had just made waffle bowls. The service is quick and friendly. For just a few dollars this was a great little break from our day at the beach.

I've eaten at Coldstone elsewhere, and saw this when I went to Borders and Safeway. I asked myself -- why would anyone go to this chain place when there are island flavors at Lapperts and Hula Cookies and Ice Cream? So I saved myself for what I think of as the real deal.
