Let me start by saying that this applies to ALL mcdonald's in Hawaii. Hate all you want, Mcdonald's Local Breakfast in Hawaii is insanely delicious. Local Breakfast: Portugese Sausage + Eggs + Rice + soy sauce packet SPAM + Eggs + Rice + soy sauce packet Deluxe includes both meats +added tip, substitute the scrambled egg for the round egg yes, it is really good. hard to believe because it's mcdonald's right? This is my ONE advice to all my friends whenever they come to Hawaii and ask me where to eat. I tell them, well, i'll tell you, but you have to promise me to give it a shot. And then I tell them to go to McDonald's at least ONCE for breakfast and try their local breakfast. then they shoot back a "wtf" look at me and laugh but i try my hardest to convince them to don't knock it till u tried it and they all come back and tell me it was pretty damn good. honestly, give it a try, you're obviously reading this because you're wondering right? if you're already wondering, then do yourself a favor and check it out, it's worth the $4 bux to be surprised by something like mcdonald's on vacation. Then when you're done, walk across the parking lot, there's a tiny little flea market you can walk around and there's a dood selling young coconuts that you can drink fresh then he'll split it afterwards so you can eat the insides all for $6.

My first job at 16 years old... First day at drive thru - 2 friendly surfer guys tried to pass me a Maui Wowie blunt!! I did get in trouble that day. 15 years later, we got married here in Kihei. We didn't get a chance to eat at our reception. Thank goodness this location is 24hrs. Our first meal as husband and wife, a romantic dinner for 2 ~ matching Quarter pounder with cheese meals :)

Legend has it, the McDonald's in Hawaii have the fabled spam and eggs. They do. My friends and I came to Maui for vacation and only 2 of us wanted to try the spam and eggs here. It's amazing. The legends are true. Very happy with our purchases. 4 Stars!

Yes, Sometimes I go to Mickey D's. Just a childhood thing I guess but sometimes the fries and the Big Mac just sound good. Unfortunately, here they are not very consistent. The Fries are never right and what is up with McDonalds being the smallest drink of any fast food chain. I would have thought they would have at least joined everyone else at this point. Jack in the Box, Wendy's and In-n-Out Burger all have much larger drinks. The Big Mac was ok this time but they can do much better. The staff, although nice, is just not very into their job. If you don't like where you work, work somewhere else.

Quick midnight run. I'm glad they are open late. My husband and I were getting ready to head back home to California and wanted something quick and easy. Got the 10 piece chicken nugget meal. The price was pretty expensive for a McDonald's but it is Hawaii so I'm not surprised.

10 to 15 minute wait in the drive thru line at lunch time. Back up is in the street. Then here comes the delivery truck to block the lot up more. I asked Coco the asst. driver of the truck, why could they not come out when it was not the lunch rush. Answer- they deliver when they get there. Bad planning on managements part. Creating a traffic hazard on south Kihei road while the county is doing construction on south Kihei road is not going to win you any customers. When I finally got up to the windows, all the workers were joking around having a good time. Worst case of lack of management I have seen in a while. If I could of gotten the same food at Jacks or somewhere else I would have. Ill try not to go there at lunch again.

Not going to go too much into this. It's McDonalds. It's on Maui. What more do you want? The only thing to warn tourists is that McDonald's here are going to be more expensive. Expect to pay anywhere from $1.00 to $3.00 more, depending on what you get. Other than that, this one's service is no worse or better than normal and we use it regularly when we need something quick and (relatively) "cheap".

Five stars for McDonald's??! And what kind of chump eats at McDonald's in HAWAII?!! Well, I'm not crazy, I'm not a chump, and this is NO joke. This is a five star review for McDonald's Taro Pie! Oh, I know that you islander types like your taro bland or tangy as hell like auntie's poi, but I like it sweet. Therefore, I could not resist stopping by the drive-thru window when I learned that the Golden Arches had a taro pie. It's the same crispy fried pie as the prototypical apple or cherry pie, but its got purply-gray taro filling inside. It's got just enough taro taste so that you know it really is taro, but it's sweet like a dessert should be, so you won't be tempted to scoop out the filling with your hands and eat it with any lomi lomi salmon. Without this pie, McDonald's would be a one star event.

Stopped in for frozen yogurt and cold beverages as my husband and I had been checking out all of the Kihei beaches and wanted to cool off. They were out of frozen yogurt; I am under the assumption the machine was broken. No one knew what the story was. I also ordered a bottle of water and it was taken out of the mini fridge and it was warm. I asked for a cold water and it was like I just ordered chop suey at McDonald's. I hope this place gets its act together as I'm sure I'll be back in the area and need a cold refreshment and cool treat again soon.

My last meal on the island was the Local Deluxe - sausage , spam , egg and rice with a hash brown. Comfort food that reminds me of the states and also with a twist of hawaiian spam and sausages. Great brunch stop on the go before the flight back to CALI!

  • Yane Y.

I tried to get a spam, egg, and cheese mcmuffin, but the cashier didn't understand me. So I ordered the 2 sausage burritos because I was too tired to explain I wanted to sub spam for other meats. oh well. This was similar to other McD's, so not much else to note!

  • Jeremy L.

This specific McDonald's in Kihei, Maui, Hawaii is definitely not a winner in the McDonald's service/food quality category. The food essentially is the same, which is nice about McD's, but sometimes the employees just seem lazy and unenthused about helping you. Often times my food is poorly put together as well..

Everyone knows McDonald's and those that like, like it, and those that don't, don't for whatever reason. However, in this case it's a LIKE because of the local food plates. I was craving spam, eggs and rice. My fiance made a comment about how McDonalds plays on the local food so we drove here, walked in, and BAM! Spam, eggs and rice on the menu. I ordered that and my fiance had the Portuguese sausage, eggs and rice. It was good and satisfying. A good place for that basic plate of food played on the locale.

Yay! McDonalds on Maui are better than their mainland siblings. We have haupia and taro pie here. The one in Kihei is particularly good in that they keep it clean. It's not newly renovated like the one in Lahaina is but it's still kept up well. Great place to grab your morning coffee and sausage biscuit on the way to the beach!

BLOT: Keep driving. --------------- Who the hell comes to Maui and eats are McD's? Well, I do - but ONLY to be fair in covering all sources of saimin. I'm so sorry in so many ways - but I had to do this. Noodles hard, broth salty. One piece each of char siu and naruto. Their saimin was made 3 days before it was served to me (per the label on the cup lid.) Worse yet, the cup had a label saying serve before Oct 12th, which is a month from the date it was made! Ugh.. .but then again the burgers you are eating at any McD's probably have the same service life. The rest of their menu is the same as CA golden arches, and I only write this since there are regional differences. (as in saimin in HI and Rice burgers in China) So, saimin $3.09. Probably the easiest saimin to find on the island (ya, that surprised us too). Did it once, won't do it again.

Great prices! They have fried pies! Oh how I have missed fried pies! Love them, each one I had over the course of a week was terrific.

The 4 stars are for the great local platters that they offer - I tried the spam, scrambled eggs and rice and it was very good. Wish they had this in Cali but then it wouldn't be a local platter.

The Mcdonalds experience depends on a lot of things. Like cleanliness, how fast they get you your food customer service and professionalism. 1 thing I would like to admit was that the interior design of this mc donalds was suprisingly nice and well kept clean!! Only because the 70 yrd old filipino lady was working her ass to to do so!! I ordered the angus mushrooms and swiss combo meal and my girlfriend ordered the 20 pc nuggets and a mc double. My burger was good my fries were a little cold but i wasn't dissatisfied and my girlfriends nuggest were "friggen awesome," because they were hot and crispy. So food gets 2 stars. -Now customer service. The guy at the. Counter was a friggen idiot!! My forgot to punch in my gfs mcdouble. Seriously how stupid or deaf to you have to be if someone is right in front of you ordering 2 items and you forget to punch in one of them. I could under stand if it was a large order but come on now!! Now with my order the same guy forgot my damn cup!!! I'M THIRSTY MOFO! - the last thing that bothered me was the fact that while my gf and I were eating the managers were yell at the employees and the work were cracking jokes and laughing like a pack of hyenas!!! I'm all about have fun were you work. But at least be considerate of your customers. Over all rating 2 stars for food 1 for everything else *my recomendation... try other local food places... but if you really have a craving for mc donalds. I guess you could make a stop over here for a snack and then keep driving to the next resturant you find =p - Tron

If i could give this place negative starts, i would. Seriously, the workers here were SO RUDE & didn't understand a single THING I said. I asked for a sausage mc muffin with bacon instead of sausage...what did i get?!?!?!? bread & cheese. And when I asked for them to redo the sandwich, she just added 2 pcs of bacon and no egg. -_-

I was thirsty. Since I am from the mainland and I ALWAYS drink the $1 Sweet Tea, I can not over state my disappointment when I found out they do not serve that in Hawaii. However, it did let me rediscover my love of McD's Orange Drink! All in all a great cheap place to get a drink before you start your daily Maui adventure!
