If I could give them a negative stars I would!!! In my opinion, they all should be FIRED! I've been there a few times and every single time I wait at least 15-20 minutes for a walk in order. Even in the drive thru they f*ck up. I ordered the big breakfast that suppose to come with pancakes... They forget to put it on the plate, so there's a giant empty space, and these dumb f*cls try and tell me nothings wrong. If the store manager doesn't know how to train her employees she needs to go! Why are they paying you to not do your job? All the employees move so damn slow i could make my own food and eat it before they could even make my order No communication between employees and even to customers , very bad customer service, (I actually herds this one black dude say " I don't even wanna be here right now" right at the cash registers! WTF?) poor training! If McDonalds of Hawaii ever needs a location for what NOT to do, I beg then to use this location!!! PLEASE!!! Let's hire some people who at least know what the word "teamwork" actually means

Rating: 2/5 Date(s) visited: 11/20/2010 Food: 4/5 Service: 1/5 Atmosphere: 3/5 Price: 4/5 Parking: 3/5 This is another "Customer service fixer-upper." Fix your customer service, get your shit together, and everything will fall into place. I can't believe what I just experienced at this location. This staff is what we call in the Military, "A Cluster F***." Too many chief's and not enough Indians. Isn't McDonald's suppose to be a "Turn key" business? It's not rocket science, or having to perform brain surgery. It took way too long to get my food, with too many employees in the front and not enough cooking, or should I say "Warming up," in the back. The only reason for my 2 star rating is because I found a gift card that I wasn't able to find at any other McD's. Food: It's the "Goto" restaurant of America. I was actually looking for a "Denny's," but it has yet to be built around in this area. Service: They need to bring in a "Veteran" from one of their other established locations. Atmosphere: This is a new one, so there's nothing really to complain about. I like the automatic sliding doors. Price: Good, I guess. Parking: A lot of parking. Nothing to worry about in the mornings.

Okay... Maybe this is just because its a new store but jeez.. Step it up... Overly salted fries.... 15min waiting in the drive thru, place looked like it was in a little bit of chaos, employee running every where. I asked them to make my mc rib meal extra large and the lady replied " oh, i can give you and extra large drink, but we dont have extra large fries.." WTF!!! Get your shit together, and you'll get a better review next time... I expected a better MCD experience... : ( -Tron

This has to be one of the worse McDonald's drive-thru's ever besides the one in Windward City Shopping Center! They had asked me to park because I had "special" orders. I was parked there for 20 minutes watching numerous cars getting their order while I was still waiting for mine! Seriously, how long does it take for someone to make a couple burgers without pickles & another couple plain?! To make things worse, they didn't make any of them plain. I had to chase down the worker and tell him the order was wrong! All he could say was that he doesn't usually work at this McDonald's, that's he's usually at East and he's just helping them out.

First time here they messed up on my iced coffee...got warm coffee Second time wait was super long to order

It's McDonalds, you're not here for world class treatment. You get what you pay for. The 5am open time works great for me since I have to get to town early for work. Cheap food that's fast, can't go wrong with that. Check the dollar menu because it varies what seems like weekly. If you don't see it, just ask. The menus rotate so it disappears fast. The staffers are pretty knowledgeable. Not many tourists at this location!

  • James L.

It is what it is, cheap fast food, no play area for kids but service is fast and food is hot. Not much else can be said.

  • Chris P.

Don't let them pull a fast one on you in the drive-thru. They almost got us. Along with our order, we ordered two extra white milks. I realized after we paid and drove off that they had given us two white milks that were both two days expired. My husband stormed in and asked to speak to the manager. Never a good thing, right? Well, he spoke to Frannie and told her that he would report them to the Dept. of Health the next time it happens again. She gave us our two non-expired white milks to go. I wonder what else gets "missed" at this McDonalds. Better yet, just don't come here.

  • Chalaine R.

I absolutely hate this McDonalds! It's the only McDonalds I have to literally scream at the drive-thru just so they can hear my order! Ugh! However, their customer seems like it's getting better. But it's so annoying having to always scream when you want to order. They should really fix their speakers or something.

The first time I been to this McDonalds i experienced BAD service! When I get to the window at the drive thru I expect to be greeted. TWO times i been there so far not ONE hi, hello, welcome! The girl just left window shut till a bag came. Ugh! That makes me mad! The first time i been here i got no greeeting, the girl had an attitude, and was missing some condiments! Second time i been here my friend wanted to check it out, same thing! Not even greeted once! You would think that this McDonalds is NEW, they would train their employees to give EXCELLENT customer service because they need the business! i guess not! It aint hard to put a smile on your face and say HI and THANK YOU! On a brighter note, the foods good..but not good for you! Haha!

Worst McD's EVER! Granted this is a fast food restaurant so the best service should not be expected, their workers are the worst! They are extremely rude and snotty...yes snotty! I felt like I was inconveniencing the young, short girl. She did not greet me, thank me and just grabbed my money. She had a major attitude or a 4x4 up her you-know-where. When I asked for extra napkins, she pointed at my package and said "It's in there." I told her "I said EXTRA" and she gave me 2 whole napkins....score! Unless you are having a bad day and just want to rip it into someone, avoid this McD's like the plague!

Ice Cream! Can't eat it anymore, but while I could...it was good! This McDonald's ice cream is a little more then the one in Nanakuli. There ice cream is just a buck! Also this McDonald's has a weird drive through. The 2 lanes that turns into 1 lane.

Location/Parking: They are located in the same shopping center as Home Depot, Starbucks, Jamba Juice and Navy Federal. They are directly across from Costco. There are tons of parking at this shopping center. Food: MISTAKES GALORE!!! There is always a mistake in my order! On my most recent visit, I ordered a 6 piece chicken McNugget Happy Meal and I received 5 McNuggets. My husband has ordered double quarter pounder and received a single quarter pounder. My daughter also did not receive apples on one of the visits and was terribly disappointed since she knows apples come with the Happy Meal. Price: The restaurant is affordable for most people and the specials help people stretch their money further. Overall, the restaurant is conveniently located and offers daily specials that is advertised on the front of the restaurant. I prefer NOT to come to this location because of all the mistakes made in the past on our previous orders.

This location is better at drive through orders than sit-in ones. I've come through this drive through many times with my family or a friend and there hasn't been any order mess-ups that I can remember. Upon my latest visit, however, my mom and I ordered in person inside. My mom insists that her order took far too long, though she's been known to be impatient. She had a point though, I ordered after her and I got my #10 meal about 10 minutes before her happy meal for my niece was done. Unless a hamburger takes that much longer than nuggets... I'm not sure what the wait was for. At the same time though, maybe there were just a lot more orders for hamburgers than nuggets at the time so that could explain the back up. After we left, I realized they didn't give my niece anything to drink with her happy meal. We ordered an apple juice and it was nowhere to be found. This was just one experience going inside so take it with a grain of salt. I just find it a bit odd that the one time I decide to go in, food came out slow and something was forgotten, when all the other times driving through, there's not been any hiccups yet. My suggestion is to stick to the drive through and always double-check your orders.

  • Luis R.

This location is very interesting. I walked in and felt like crying. I won't explain why as my comments might be misunderstood. It was just a sad place at the moment I went. Not sure if it is always this way, I hope not. I am having my kitchen remodeled so I have no way to cook and the golden arches where there to save the day or so I thought. I would much rather go through the drive through then sit and eat at this location. No problems with the food just the ambiance hence the rating.

Asked for fresh fries and guess what?! It was fresh! I've never been so happy with McDonalds customer service. Been her quite a few times and they have great customer service, their quick and food hasn't been soggy. Way better than the McDonalds a few blocks down.

  • Erin M.

This mcdonalds is absolutely horrible! My food was cold, it took forever for them to complete my order, the lady taking my order rushed me and she was super rude. My cookies was hard as a dam rock. Never again I'll come to this mcdonalds

  • Karen C.

McDonald's is a big franchise so writing a bad review is not going to stop customers from going, but if you do go just make sure you look at your food before leaving the area. If you're in drive-thru DO NOT drive off until you look in your bag! Employees here doesn't care what they bag or how they make their food. Ordered An Asian salad and got a southwest, apparently they ran out of Asian salad so the MANAGER decided to give me another salad instead! The damn southwest salad wasn't even made correctly!! I wasted my time and money. This McDonald's definitely needs a third window, so you can switch out all the wrong food you get with the correct ones..

why is McDonalds sneaking in extra charges without posting it on the menu or at least tell the customer of the extra charge when they order.I just tried to order hamburger and wanted to substitute the ketchup and mustard with Mac sauce price came out .50 more and I had to ask why so much more and she told me by adding the Mac sauce its extra. well I cancelled my order and walked out. so instead of gaining extra .50 they lost a sale and definitely a customer. there has to be a law that says you have to inform the customer of these things and I will find out

I never thought I would ever write a review for a fast food joint. But I am spurred to write this one. I'm usually a pretty patient person, but going to a fast food restaurant and waiting more than 20 minutes to receive my order is ridiculous. I don't understand why they do not stay on top of what they have and don't have already made. One would think they would drop a batch of apple pies when they see they are running low. Of course not. That would be efficient. Can't have that here. To say that at this point I am angry is an understatement. Some may say I well. You went to McD, what do you expect. I expect to not have to wait over 20 mins for a damn apple pie because they don't communicate with each other that they are out! Since the tickets are timed from when they are paid for at the register, one of them decided to clear the order off the screen because it was taking too long. So of course they forget that I am standing there beginning to fume as other patrons receive their food and walk away. Did anyone ask me why I was standing there? Nope. You would think seeing a person in the waiting area holding a receipt having stood there a long while would evoke someone to ask what I was waiting for. One would ask were they understaffed tonight? No. They weren't. They had two cashiers. Which one of them ran away from register when her phone went of in her pocket. Seriously. Ran towards the bathroom so she could answer her phone. There was another employee at the window. Three putting together orders. One at the fryer and three more in the back in the assembly line. With that many workers how is it that they just don't do something so simple as to drop a load of apple pies in the fryer. It takes 10 minutes to fry. I waited a total of 24 minutes and still none came out. I got fed up with waiting and told them to give me a taro pie so I could leave. I waited so long for that one apple pie the rest of the food was cold. I will not be coming back to this McD again.

Quick at taking orders but slow at getting your food. Came in to a line waiting for food as it appears the drive thru is moving faster. I'm in line now waiting for 10 people ahead of me to get food. Best to go to the drive thru.

  • Chanel S.

I frequently go to this McDonald's even though there are two other McDonald's closer to my house. It's definitely NOT because of the customer service. The customer service here is okay, I guess. This location is usually understaffed though. One morning we had to pull over after going through the drive thru. For a cup of coffee!!! I couldn't believe it. This location also messes up orders about half the time. This McDonald's gets 3 stars because it's constantly running it's own promotions. Their cones are only 59 cents and from 3pm-3am EVERY DAY Big Macs are buy one get one FREE!!! I would give this location 2 stars but their promotions get one extra star.

Wow! I thought I was the only one that had an experience with trashy crew here. Boy was I wrong!!! First, the positive... The food is good. Isn't most McDonald's? The end (of the positives anyway) The crew just is not up to par. My favorite experience was when we went through the drive through and had the classiest girl ever take my hard earned money. Apparently she spends hers on her customized line of tasteful jewelry. Today's piece was a lovely Hawaiian bracelet with the word "B$&@!" engraved. It was not tiny it was made to be seen!! Now it seems that that particular adjective describes the staff quite well but I am not sure you want to advertise it. Save the element of surprise for your customers to discover. Don't give it away!!! What's the fun in that??? All the sarcasm aside...wearing something like that is terrible. Allowing an employee to don it? Seriously wrong. I called the manager on it. She did apologize but not sure she did anything about it. My 2 cents? Drive down the road and go to the other Kapolei McDonald's. Support a location that has their act together.

    (2)
  • Angry C.

If this is the McDonald's by longs in kapolei.. This is the worst one ever!!! Bunch of rude workers!! Too much times on there hands!!! Any one knows who I can contact besides managers in that store!!! Every single time we go there, they always make a mistake!!! Forget one of my foods then I ask for it then they like see the receipt!! Seriously look at ur screen!!! All I can say is worst service ever!! My kids loves mcdonalds who doesnt!! I live right down the road!!! I will travel miles away to another McDonald's for better service!!! They need a new crew!!!!!!!!!

Needed a place to study late for a final. This McDonalds has wifi but only two outlets (a total of 4 plugs). They ran out of the Asian salad. Disappointing. Would come here again if I had no choice. Oh and it's open 24 hours

Hi, We went there 1-11-2013. We ordered the local deluxe platter $5:49 and egg mcmuffin meal $5:39. Then we received our order and the receipt, it stated $5:69 & $5:59. Whoops! So then I brought it up to the manager he looks at the receipt and the billboard I was pointing at, he then walks to the billboard, grabbs the billboard, turning it around, then moments later he comes back and drags it behind the counter. Everybody looks over like WTF. It was funny at the time. Well the manager named Attama 2 on his name tag gave me the correct differece back of change, plus he gives me a extra 1 dollar bill for my hassle. I was like wow! Right On! Then while I was eating my local deluxe platter, Attama 2 was walking by us and I asked him next time if I ordered the local deluxe platter if I can get 1 scoop of rice instead of 2 and sub out the 2nd scoop for a hashbrown. He replied no, you can only get all rice or all hashbrown for the starch. Then a few minutes later the clerk named Wailana came and gave me a free hashbrown. She was so happy that I pointed out the price error on the billboard. All in all we were verry happy that night. By the way this is by far the best mcdonalds I go to on this rock. They really know the true meaning of customer service, during these rough economic times, which customer service is non existent. Also shop at the new Walmart. They have Awwsome customer service, which we can attest to that. The store is also relly clean and well organized.

My last visit made my day. After shopping at a very crowded Costco, I stopped in with the kiddos. I gotta say they made me smile. One of the employees went beyond what I would expect and helped my 4 yr old nephew fill his fountain drink. Its the little things that go a long way.

First, I enjoy mcdonalds....but I got a brain freeze when I waited in the snail paced 2 lane drive-thru...only to find that their ice cream machine was not working that day. A sign would've been nice prior to entering the drive-thru. Simple actions could lead to smoother transactions. For customers in a drive-thru that take forever to order: please make sure you know what to order while looking at the first menu board... instead of staring at the menu for so long....Other customers would love to save gas and time while waiting in back of you. Thanks.

3.24.13 I'm a bit hesitant to write this review after reviewing some of the others below...sorry Chris P. for hearing about your milk experience--that's terrible! I really hope they don't use that milk in the ice cream...but 4 stars goes to the ICE CREAM!! Currently $0.59, yes under $1 cone--I THINK YES!! Aside from the usually cheap price, these cones have been a fav since little kid time...and even if coming out here is a little out of the way, I don't mind the drive to Kapolei to pay the "new" Target & Ross a visit. Get it while you can :) Yelp 365 Challenge: #082/365

At the time I posted my tip I believed this placed was awesome however I believe they have lost a star because the service has slowed down since then. But eh its McDonalds service levels shouldnt have high expectations most hires are still in highschool. We all have to start somewhere and they will learn to be great.

I bought a breakfast there. My coffee was coconut flavored or something else, but it wasn't coffee. There seemed to be a homeless encampment occupying one whole side of the restaurant, 2 kids 2 adults, and what seemed to be a toothless grandmother outside on the patio with her cart and all the bags of everything they owned. The kids were running all around, and the adults kept going from table to table, and some lady from KFC who seemed to be "helping" somehow. They had their laptops and tablets and cell phones. It was disgusting.

I'll never come here again. Their computer is down, except nobody will tell you that until you commit to the still open drive thru, which you cannot back out of , and I've been trapped in the line for 20 minutes, and then they tell you cash only.

  • Mandie R.

Omg!! 8:00 am! That was the most painful drive thru experience of my life! I have never had to repeat myself so much for a vanilla latte. Then have them repeat over and over whatever they were trying to put in their system! Just painful. I even asked if she was ok. 15 minutes to get through there. Just ridiculous. Oh yea, in the end.. They managed to get caramel in my latte.. I guess all standards are gone. Good luck

The crew here has no class. No acknowledging who's in line and waiting. And just FYI it was at night and the place was absolutely empty. I was serviced by Angela who had the biggest frown and Melanie the manager who was also frowning. LOVE how the boss does it too... Well anyways this McD service sucks! Lastly, every single time, if you are in your car and you drive by, you will never see the umbrellas outside opened. Rain or shine. You see so many people sitting in the hot sun and NONE of the workers have the will power to open them damn umbrellas. Please don't even try going to this McD. It will ruin your day. Just FYI...if you do see the umbrella's open...ummm it's because "someone" called to complain and said that she was worried that her grandfather was either getting burnt in the sun or drenched from the rain. I'm so not saying who it is. LOL.

Fairly new McDo across Costco. The place is convenient because it's closer to work. I cannot really comment on the taste of the food. It's the same everywhere. I'd like to say their drive thru is pretty quick, whenever I was there. I probably just got lucky. The design of the store is good, spacious and it has the automatic sliding doors. Service is not so good. The drive-thru order takers and presenters were not very friendly. Whoever this branch's crew trainer must have forgotten one important thing when he/she trained the service crew. I worked at McDo before and we were told to ALWAYS greet whoever's out your window. They sometimes forget. One time I ordered a McChicken with Swiss cheese from drive thru, along with other food I ordered. I checked the McChicken, sure enough, there's a grill slip. I said to myself, "they probably got it right." After all, how hard is it to add a cheese? I checked the inside.... NO CHEESE! I learned from past experience. If you "customize" your order, check it before you leave. To add the cheese in there costs me $0.30. Even though it's only $0.30, I paid for it. It better be in my sandwich. The presenter saw me looking at it and he was like, "With cheese right?". He took it back to put the cheese on it and apologize. I drove away okay. I got what I paid for, even though I have to check it. They should have gotten it right the first place. Adding cheese is not that hard. If I have any other choice I won't go here. I'll go here only because it's convenient for me whenever I work.

My dad asked me to bring home a Filet o FIsh meal for him as I returned from Costco. As I pulled out I forgot that the new McDs finally opened. So I took a chance and rolled through. Was somewhat difficult to see the drive through entrance but We rolled through. I'm still on the fence about if the split ordering lanes are better or not. I had no problems getting my food quickly. I didn't eat the fries to see if they were extra salty but the service I received was good. They were friendly and quick. It won't be long till I have to go to this location again and I'll update my review.
