Cons: The meat were cut up in big fat ugly pieces. They were chewy and bland, almost like they were cooked on the side, and when you tell them what meat you want on the dish, they simply toss the already cooked meat into the dish. It seems to be family owned, so I wonder if it were the children who were the ones who cut the meat. Pros: The most flavorful dishes you will ever have. Curry will have a strong coconut flavor to it. The Tom Yum fried rice is stir-fried with great "wok hei" and have the essence of tom yum, which I thought would be impossible until I read the menu. All the vegetbles were fine, just that the meat was not tastey. Next time I come, I would just order everything vegetarian. Prices were reasonable, and the workers (the children) do their best to make sure patrons are happy. Definitely a nice treat in this side of the island!
We loved the food but the layout of the tables made it really awkward. We were seated between 2 different parties in the middle of a long table. It was pretty uncomfortable and we had to ask twice to be reseated at another table. The food was yummy but the portions were a little small. All in all was ok for the money.
OH MY GOOOODNESS! My sister recommended to come here and I was excited because the only really great Thai restaurant is Phuket Thai. Now they have a competition!! We finally have a super awesome great tasting Thai restaurant. I should've taken pictures of the dishes we ordered but I couldn't wait one more second and eagerly stuffed my face. Panang chicken mild, fresh spring rolls , calamari, fried chicken and last but not least is the Pad Thai!! Woooowee! The party was happening in my mouth down to my stomach!! I can't wait to go back and Try more dishes. Overall, this place is heaven!! The best thing that ever happened on the Leeward side!!

After moving from the mainland I have all but given up hope that I would find a good burger place in Hawaii. We came in with the intention of taking the food out on account of my Emotional Support Animal--he's a puppy still and he hasn't quite adapted to a crowded restaurant setting to our liking, so often times we eat at home--and for the first time ever, the manager encouraged us to stay and eat! They were very accommodating, checking on us here and there and giving us a run-down on the menu. I loved the setting inside the restaurant and the burgers were so much better than the last place that we ate at on the mainland! I still can't get over how welcoming they were towards Diesel (my ESA), and that was a first in my book! I didn't get so much as a funny look like I normally do, and it was a wonderful experience overall. The burgers are a little pricey, but to be honest for the quality of the food you are getting with all the options for sides and toppings, it's worth every penny! I will be returning! (:
I couldn't believe the awful service I got here today! I usually love Teddy's but I guarantee I'll never go back to this location! I placed three separate orders over the phone and I had it repeated back to me twice and I thought everything was fine. When I got there I had to ask for the orders to be separated and they had put a beef patty when I had asked for a salmon patty on one of the burgers. The lady helping us, I think her name was Raielle and her tag said manager, was very nice and assured us that the correct burger was coming out. She also told us twice that the incorrect burger was free of charge. Then as we sat outside a worker, she was not wearing a name tag, came out and dug through our bag and TOOK THE BURGER THEN LEFT! If she had told us that the burger wasn't free and told us that she had to take it back that would be fine but no, she rudely took the burger and left without saying anything to us other than just asking if that was the burger they got wrong. I can't believe the awful service here. Never coming back. You are better off going to Burger King. They also wouldn't give us student discount, only UH they said. I guess LCC doesn't count. I just now read that they give kamaaina discount?! Why not offer that to us? Awful, just awful.
For some reason I thought it was a good idea to come to this Teddys instead of the one I live closer to. I hate having to write reviews for it to be negative, but here it goes... Came in around lunch time, line is completely long & there is only one girl on a register. There was a male with a different colored shirt right next to her, maybe he was a manager?, but he did not get up to help the line go down. Instead we stood in line for a good 10 minutes with this guy just looking up and watching the line grow. Why? Finally we were able to order & did not receive friendly customer service. I understand they were getting slammed and this person was the only one taking orders, but she could have at least smiled. This place has great ratings, but it had to be the one time I come in that I receive a bad experience. Maybe it was just today, but still, it makes me question whether it was worth my time to come here.

So as you may or may not know, Sushi Bay is owned by the former owner of Kuru Kuru Sushi. With that being said I reluctantly came to Sushi Bay on a saturday night around 7:30pm. I say reluctantly because I know the Kuru Kuru lines are crazy!! To my surprise we only ended up waiting for about 20 minutes for a party of five. Sushi Bay is like normal kaiten style sushi with similar things to genki and kuru and whatnot. The menu is actually pretty similar to Kuru, but with a bigger variety. There are teri chicken dons, beef dons as well as the old size dons they used to serve at Kuru with the monstrous portions. They also are a cheaper compared to its competitors in my opinion. A must try is the teri chicken mayo sushi. I know sounds strange right? It's actually really really good. The restaurant is really small so i'd expect to wait regardless of what time it is or how big your party is. Overall this place is great the food and fish quality is great. In my honest opinion this place blows its competitors out of the water. I hate comparing this place to Kuru because Kuru has a special place in my heart, but how can I not?!?! It's the old owner for goodness sakes.
Found out about Sushi Bay from my Dad. My family was a fan of the "big" dons that Kuru Kuru used to make and when he went there for lunch one day, he discovered the bowls and brought it home for dinner. I found out later that the former owner/manager of Kuru Kuru revamped it so a friend and I made the looooong trek out to Kapolei to have lunch there. It was well worth the 30-40 minute drive! :) The price is a little cheaper than Kuru Kuru's new prices and the quality of the fish is great. They also have a bunch of other non-sushi items such as chicken and beef dons and udon sets. Also, if you order a temaki sushi when you're eating there, it comes in the more "authentic" cone shape, without the plastic wrapper. If you're lucky, you may even get to watch the sushi chefs cut up the tako, ahi, etc. :)
This place was pretty cool. When we were seated, I noticed a conveyor belt with food circulation. This is my dream. Unlimited sushi on a belt. If you dine here you can either take from belt, order separately, or both. The price per plate is on the wall and color coated .

Service is great. The Old Fashion...not so much.
Located on the 2nd floor, above Ushio Tei and Naupaka Terrace. The best Margarita in Ko Olina area! When the downstairs restaurants are not super busy, you could have food from Ushio Tei and Naupaka Terrace menu. Expect to wait. Advise: Do not try their fish sampler. We are glad we did not get food poisoned. Remember, this is a bar!
Mai tais were delicious here. Nice wine selection (they even had wine by Justin something I've only seen since dining in California's wine country). The deserts are incredible...a must try is the warm banana cobbler. Great service too. Definite must if you are staying at the Ihilani.

Reviews:
This review is in reference to Naupaka's breakfast buffet. The service here is awesome, the staff is friendly and accommodating, unfortunately the food is horrible. Which is too bad since we are staying in the hotel and this would have been a good go to spot. Here is what I sampled: Coffee: I'm usually not picky about coffee but their coffee was awful, it had a horrible after taste, I only could make it through 1/2 a cup. Eggs: Bad. I suspect they are made from a powder. Portuguese sausage: Way too much fat in the sausage, no flavor too, so disappointed. Cheese Danish: stale. Bread pudding: this was the only delicious item in the entire buffet, but I can't just have bread pudding for breakfast :( I know that the Naupaka Terrace serves lunch and dinner but after such an awful breakfast experience, we didn't want to risk spending another $50 on another potentially bad meal.
The service here is unbelievable. From the hostess Sarah to the server Scott and all the dining attendants. We went here for dinner because we attended the stars above hawaii activity. We always come here for the breakfast buffet which is always good as well. We started with the soup and salad bar which had a variety of salads to enjoy. The lobster bisque was amazing including fresh crab meat. Yum yum good!!!! Also the kids penne pasta with chicken and Alfredo was not only delicious but the pricing is a plus. ($10) who could go wrong. My red snapper was so delicious and my husbands steak was really good for the price. I have to agree with the review from rob. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere but the service and food is more than casual. Then for the desert we had a really good apple something with ice cream that was phenomenal and my kids enjoyed it as well. Overall as always my husband says we will return!!!
Upscale buffets, beautiful unique atmosphere, CRAB LEGS I actually wanted one of my words to be SHARK. Why shark? Because the last time my husband took me there we were seated next to a pond of sharks!!! Yes real live flesh eating man killing sharks at the foot of our table. Okay so they are sorta small and they probably arent man killing but how unique is that? Its so cool to see them so close (though it is still safe) and just be able to watch them from your table. The lighting and the set up is really nice. You can see the sky from where you are and as the sun goes down it gets much more romantic. Theres live music there certain times of the weekend and it feels very dinner on the beach-ish (except you arent on the beach). I have experienced both the breakfast buffet as well as the seafood buffet and they are both upscale and by upscale I mean fancy and pricey. But to me it is worth it. The food is good, the set up is nice, and always looks clean and full of food. I think its much better then a lot of the buffets at the other hotels. Oh and me oh my the CRAB LEGS. Its not no bebe flavorless crab legs its Alaskan King Crab Legs! Full of flavor and very rich. Though its not the biggest crab legs in the whole wide world I think the size is good and you get a good amount of meat. Not only is the crab legs very well seasoned but the prime rib and the pork loin are also very full of flavor. I appreciate how well seasoned everything was. Customer Service was okay. I feel for the price you pay the service should be a little bit more on it. Our waitress was a doll but we waited a while for refills. And the bus boy attended every tourist around us but didn't say a peep to us. That sort of attitude is a huge pep peeve for me thus the 4 stars. I get it this is a hotel full of tourist, but if a local family or couple or customer is here and is a paying customer then we should also get the same quality service. its not as if we were loud obnoxious or rude, we were pretty to ourselves. I tried to ask him to take our plates but he sorta just walked passed us quickly the second attempt he said he would be right back and came back but walked right pass us to ask the table next to us if they were okay and ignored us when we tried to ask for water. I dont got no damn time for bus boys on high maka maka trips. Seriously you are a bus boy relax with your bad self! LOL ok that was mean. Half sorry! Overall despite the snotty bus boy, I enjoy the buffets and the mister and I will be back to watch the sharks again and try their pau hana buffet :) I suggest this for couples and families! We are looking forward to bringing our boys (they love seafood).

Favorite pizza on the island!!! The pizzas are so large they spill out of the box. I particularly like the spinach at garlic with white sauce. Everything tastes so fresh.
It's not Boston's Pizza. It's Boston Kine. But whatever the case - it's basically the same. I tend to always get mushroom and pepperoni. But I'm open to trying new flavors. It doesn't matter to me because I'm a big fan of pizza. And the fact that their slices are so huge, which allows me to have leftovers - makes me adore BP/Boston Kine Pizza even more! ...now I really want pizza.
WARNING! ***** IF U WANT TO WASTE $30 ON A PIZZA GO HERE***** IF YOU WANT A GREAT PIZZA GO ELSEWHERE BUT HERE. The Staff was nice but not the pizza, they all need to go to pizza 101 training. I truly think they turn off the oven to save electricity and when a order comes in then they turn the oven on. Our Pizza doe was not crispy uncooked watery and all the veggies was also uncooked we cooked it more in our oven for 20min and still. since the veggies were fresh we scraped it off the raw pizza doe and ate like a sauté Italian stir fry. If I ate that Pizza there I would have threw it back at them and ask for a refund. The photo of this undercooked raw pizza is in their photo list under RAW PIZZA.

Menchie’s

Kapolei, 96707
Reviews:
Went to this Menchie's for a refreshing snack. There is absolutely nothing bad about this place; by the same token, however, there is nothing to push this place into the above average category. The yogurt is pretty much the same as every other frozen yogurt place. I don't have an amazing taste for frozen yogurt, as such can only tell the difference between different flavors (and not between, say, vanilla at different places). The toppings are fresh, and this is the first place I remember seeing azuki beans (think small, candied pinto beans). If you're jonesing for some froyo, by all means, stop here. You can get the same quality elsewhere, however.
A nice thing about this place is that you get little sample cups if you're not yet wanting to commit to a flavor. We go here once in a while and I would say that it's okay. The best flavors I've found were the plain tart, pineapple, and pistachio, although the last couple times I've been here, no pistachio! The flavors rotate, but at least plain tart is always there! They do have a large variety of toppings, and my favorite are the mochi balls. Don't go for the red velvet cake cubes or the fat-free brownies - they're really dry.
Upon entering Menchie's, you are greeted with three things: a) a cashier that welcomes you to the location; b) a hand santizer machine to clean your dirty hands; and c) little sample size cups for you to go around to the different yogurt stations and "try" what you like. Today I opted to try "red velvet"--a fave of mine in cupcake and cheesecake fasion, however the yogurt version was gross! So I opted for my regular--original and taro--ooh yummy! I topped them with 3 different types of nuts--mac, almonds and peanut. My daughter, who is all of five, tried her hand at the sample cups as well and ended up over pulling the handle on the yogurt and overstuffed her little sample cup--all being said, that would've been enough to eat and call it a day, but she wanted the large version and had it filled to the top with chocolate and vanilla, added a load of sprinkles and gummy bears in a rainbow of colors. The place was decently packed but we were still able to get a table and seats--yay!

The family and I ate here yesterday and were really impressed with the service. Even though it was a fast food establishment, they provided better service than most restaurants that I have eaten at. Jody (the employee that was working the counter at the time) was very friendly, curious, highly motivated, and hard working. If something was not ready right away he would have the customers sit down and bring the food over to the customer when it came up instead of having them pile up at the counter waiting for their order to be completed. When no one was in line for food he went around and made sure the empty tables were wiped down and clean. Also if someone was getting up to leave while he was in the dining area he would take care of their trays and trash for them and ask the other customers if everything was ok and if they needed anything (but was actually helpful and not like the annoying waiters that always bug you when ever your are in the middle of a conversation or right after you just took a bite of food). I kind of wish he was working for me in the navy because he had such a great work ethic and attitude. Oh and the food was pretty good to.
Every time I come here they're always missing some ingredient. I ordered a regular sandwich this time and once I got my order it looked very small. When I unwrapped it the bun was for the smaller burgers, so I went up to the lady and asked her about it and she said we're all out of the regular buns. I wish she would of have told me ahead of time so I would of have bought something else. Very bad customer service
my gf and I decided to go to wendys kapolei for dinner and pick up food for the rest of the family as well. We drove thru and ordered and noticed the car ahead of us just drove past the window and thought it was weird. The girl took our order smoothly and repeated it back to us and told us to drive forward, we got everything we ordered fast, fries were fresh, and the girl told us to hold on, when she came back she handed us a drink and told us the car before us changed their minds and so they didnt want to waste it and thought we would like it,score!!!:) Such awesome customer service and friendly staff. Way to go wendys kapolei!!!!

3.5 stars Had lunch here this past Saturday and I ordered their Flatbread Chopped Salad - Oh my gosh! This was soooooooo good!! Best fastfood salad I ever had. I got their Roasted Chicken with Honey Mustard: Chicken breast, bacon, cheddar, tomatoes, red onion, Honey Mustard Dressing served with warm seasoned flatbreads. Delicious. And they use romaine lettuce. The greens are actually GREEN! I don't think I'll ever order anything else from Quiznos - only this salad. Yummy. Yummy. Yummy.
Overpriced but better food than Subway
good sandwiches - a bit pricey ~ went there once when their toaster was broken - left cos their product tastes better toasted
