Consistently great coffee and very friendly service. Would like to give them 4.5 stars. The only thing I didn't care for was the noise level. Barrista could hardly understand me and vice versa, and we always had to repeat what was said.

Have to update my review now that there is a completely different staff working here...super rude, not helpful and they don't really seem like they know what they're doing...I miss going in there and being greeted by name and have them know my order before I open my mouth...service not so great anymore, I would rather make my own drinks than spend all that money...

Next to 9th Island in the Kauai Village complex with Safeway & other shops. The staff is always friendly when I've gone in. Love getting the salted caramel cake pops! They're the best! Usually have some deals going on with the pastries and sandwiches in the case.

We all know what to expect product wise so this review is more on the service. It was 7pm and slow. I wasn't greeted or really acknowledged as I stood there to order. Now the girl before me was chatted up by a friendly overstimulated employee and the guy behind me at least got some small talk. I ordered my iced tea, got rung up, wasn't asked my name to put on my cup or much of anything. I liked the new mango black tea lemonade and I guess that's all I came for. On a side note: my husband got a Starbucks Refresher that comes in a can. When I asked the woman if they wanted the empty back for recycling she said they don't recycle but she could throw it away for me. When the recycling rate for Kaua'i is over 40%...why wouldn't they recycle? I took it back to the condo for the recycle tub.

I was planning a caffeine hiatus during my vacation to Kauai, but then I found out that there was a Starbucks within walking distance from my resort. During my annual trips to The Islands, I like to purchase and collect Starbucks gift cards that are sold only in Hawaii. I ended up visiting three different Starbucks locations during my trip, and this location in particular had the least amount of 'sold only in Hawaii' Starbucks products for sale. The workers here were very friendly, welcoming, and efficient in getting the drinks out quickly. Overall, the amazing baristas that work at this location make getting your caffeine fix even better.

There is something to be said for the all consuming American corporate machine. It's vampiric, sucking up the dollars that should go to the hometown mom and pop places, but also impressive in its scale and homogeneity. This Starbucks is identical to the one in D.C., Chicago, Baltimore, Dallas, Austin, Atlanta, and L.A. What the hell are you doing in a Starbucks in Hawaii? They grow coffee here, you know? Like natively. You can get the good stuff straight from the source. Once in a while, when you've been seeking out and exploring the "locals only" spots, eating as much fresh fish as you can, doggedly going off the beaten path and out of your comfort zone, well, goddamn it, sometimes you want a break. Something familiar. It's September and they have the Pumpkin Spice Lattes back in rotation. You go to Starbucks and lay another small pebble on the corporate loadstone that crushes the life out of the local economy. But it's your vacation so you can be a little selfish. Hey, at least, Starbucks provides their workers with health insurance. See? Totally justified.

Strip mall location, small street side presence hide a Starbucks location that is much bigger on the inside than the usual Starbucks store. The clientele is a mix of young locals, people employed nearby in the two grocery stores or numerous retail stores that share the strip mall as well as tourists (I'm one of those) that originate from one of the nearby (walkable) hotel/vacation condo properties nearby. The staff is laid back (it's Hawaii), friendly and have always done a great job with my order. I end up passing through here about every six weeks or so; enough to recognize faces but not really a "regular".

I use to work for Starbucks (and cover shifts at this location) & the customer service here is non existent. I had a holiday coupon and they argued that I couldn't redeem it for any drink, when I have in the past & at other locations. They didn't even try to ring in my order, to see if the coupon could actually work. So much for "the customer is always right". So my group walked out and went to Coffee Bean instead.

Been to quite a few Starbucks living in Washington state and this location is near the top of the list for bad customer service. We were waiting here before our red eye flight and the manager told everyone he's closing the bathroom an hour before the store is supposed to close. He then proceeded to scrub the floor and stack tables and chairs extremely loudly making everyone uncomfortable while they were trying to enjoy their drinks.

Love this Starbucks location in Kapaa. The location is quite spacious, and it feels like a library / hangout here. I love how Starbucks does not pressure you to buy something just to be able to hang out here. If you are like me, you can work here and charge up your mobile device / lap top at one of the many outlets they have around the store. So, I boughta venti Pike's and just hung out to rest from the long drive in and out from Hanalei. Had to drive to Poipu later that day anyway, so this respite in Starbucks helped refresh me and prepare me for the long drive ahead. Friendly baristas and the excellent customer service you would expect from Starbucks. Well kept and clean. Plenty of parking, since it's located in a strip mall. Glad they don't have inflated prices like they do at the airport.

Great staff! Starbucks is a pretty basic place, they are everywhere, but this location, the staff really stands out and they are wonderful!! I would definitely suggest to stop by this Starbucks! They make your experience out of this world, their smiles and pleasant attitudes are lovely. Although... I'm kinda annoyed that I just had to stand in line while a woman asked a million questions about registering a gift card she had. Instead of answering her questions directly, the manager answered to the cashier who than relayed the information to the already confused elderly woman.

I was welcomed with a smile and drinks were made perfectly! Can't ask for much more than that. It's about $0.50-$1 more than in Cali, but you're on vacation, splurge a little :)

Starbucks is Starbucks, wherever you are, and that's for sure. I enjoyed a place to stop and grab my usual while on the island, and had no problems, as well as generally nice service. Though this location seems a little busy, and it's a little weird when the one person at the drink bar is swamped and all the other workers are just standing around talking instead of pitching in, but hey...what do I know? I only go to Starbucks every day ;)

This place is spacious! The staff are really warm and friendly, they let me try different kinds of iced teas too! the only thing is, the power outlets are limited so it will be difficult to find a seat where you can do internet surfing.

I really liked becoming a "regular" here during our 8 night honeymoon. Our hotel was within walking distance of this Starbucks, so it was very convenient to get our caffeine fix for the day. Most mornings it was easy to walk right up and order. Some days the line was 6-8 deep, always a gamble. The earlier you go, the better off we were with fast service, go figure. Enjoyed a breakfast sandwich one morning and it hit the spot. My drink varied day to day, just depended on the mood. I enjoyed a venti iced peach green tea a few times (and took advantage of free refills since i'm a gold cardholder), as well as a skinny vanilla latte with an added shot. Also had a Starbucks Double Shot a couple times...I don't know if my taste buds have changed, but I just couldn't stomach these lately and thus I had to switch. They let me sample the new seasonal medium roast, Kati Kati, and it was very good, I would gladly enjoy that again. I also got to sample their new Valencia Orange refresher, very good! Plus I sampled the iced peach green tea lemonade...so kudos on the samples guys, I appreciate it!! The baristas all varied in speed as did the cashiers. All very friendly and enjoyable!! But everytime my order was slurped down so they're doing something right. They also had some cute merch for sale, just never affordable. The varying speeds is why they cant get that illusive 5th star. Very enjoyable experiences throughout our stay, would definitely recommend this place over the Nawiliwili/Lihue location!!

Ever since my trip to Cabo San Lucas last year with my then fiance, I've made it a habit of picking up a Starbucks collector's mug in most cities we've visited including: Los Cabos San Diego Portland Taipei Tainan And now Hawaii. But Hawaii isn't really a city, which is kind of lame. Neither is California, but they do have a California mug at the Starbucks in Campbell, where I work. They would never have a Campbell mug, though, since there's really nothing here. They could have designed a mug just for Kauai. But they didn't. Anyway. This Starbucks also has a mocha coconut Frappuccino, which is apparently a Hawaiian exclusive. It's not much to rave about, but I've had it. And it was good.

our regular stop for caffiene while on vacation. it's a starbucks so our product is consistent. there's a cute blond girl who has helped us everyday in one capacity or another. I don't know her name but she's very nice, friendly, and does a great job.

i love Starbucks. In fact, I used to work for the company. My husband and I were on our honeymoon and stayed in the Waipouli Beach Resort across the way. We came here a few mornings to use the wifi and to hang out before we began our day. It's a very nice store, however we happened to always be helped my a woman named Reba. She had the nastiest attitude of anyone I've ever met working at Starbucks. She seemed annoyed by helping us every time we came in - and she seemed this way with others as well. I order a breakfast sandwich one morning and she told me it would be ready at the counter to the left in a few minutes. I waited for about five minutes (these sandwiches take about 2 min to heat) and then went and sat with my husband and watched the bar. I saw that she had forgot and then put my sandwich in, which is fine with me. However, upon retrieving the sandwich from the oven she placed it in a bag, waived it in the air at me with this "come and get your damn sandwich" face and threw it on the bar and walked away. I was appalled.

Staff was friendly, great place to hang out if weather is bad. Has wifi, good music and food. When you wake up too early because your body clock is still on mainland time, this is about the only place open to get some coffee and something to snack on.

Consistently good coffee and great staff! Keani and Raenell always make us feel right at home! Love the coffee, love the baked goods! Free wifi to boot! Nice seating indoors with plush chairs and couches. Unlike Lihue store which has nothing but wood chairs.

Came in after dinner for a pick me up coffee and dessert/cupcake to split with my hubby. The clerk/barista was smiling, friendly, talkative and very tolerant of us tourist folks. She gave us some great recommendations for dining places. After were sat down and started sipping, she came over a few minutes later with a Cafe Americano "(we) made on accident" and gave it to us for free. A short time later, she got off shift and went on her merry way. Rarely have I seen such a happy, friendly person that deep into a shift. The SBUX itself was well-kept, tidy, and the coffee was very well made. Not too weak, too strong or too sweet. I took a card with the manager's name and intend to call and commend our particular barista. First SBUX I have ever been in that I had such good coffee and was treated like more than just any old customer. This place should train the others!

This Starbucks was awesome. I ordered a bagel & he toasted it & gave me cream cheese w/ out even having to ask. Another cool thing, they had the insulated mugs for cold drinks & in San Diego they only have them once a year. My husband said the coffee he ordered kind if sucked compared to the way San Diego Baristas make it, oh well.

What a great little Starbucks on the island's east side. It was the perfect stop on our way from Poipu to Hanalei. I've found in my Starbuck travels that they vary in quality, and this one was one of the best . . . not to mention one of the busiest I have ever seen! With one person taking orders and one making the drinks, there was a bit of a wait, but I got a great frothy cap when delivered!

Since I am a long time connoisseur of Starbucks, it seems fit to rate this one in terms of how it compares to others. Their is plenty of room to move about, only a few stands for merch, the bar was clean and well stocked and the staff was friendly and seemed to have it together. The half and half was empty at the bar, but the espresso barista had a new canister ready upon my request. The reason I knocked off a star is that the register barista completely forgot to give me my pastry right after completing my transaction, and I had to get another barista's attention in order to get it.

I wasn't a big fan of this Starbucks. One of the Baristas ignored me and was talking to his friend who was a customer. Also the coffee I had was really had. It made me feel sick! I wouldn't recommend this Starbucks to someone I hated (not trying to be rude).
