I am still searching for an amazing pizza place & tried many of the popular joints. Since this location was near our destination we decided to try it. The pizza from Papa John's was ok at a great price - a large w/1 topping for $12. We opted for extra pizza sauce & well done - next time will not get well done. The service at this location was great! Everyone was friendly & helpful. TIP: Place your order online bc there are deeper discounts.

Like Wayne S. mentioned, carry out is so much faster if you're willing to make the trip. It takes only 15-20 minutes and you save on tipping!! Times are hard, every dollar counts. :P There are a few specials to choose from, The lunch special was an 8' one topping pizza with a can soda for like $5 between 10am - 3pm. "Monday Madness" is 1 topping medium pizza for $5.99. Tuesdays was "2 for Tuesdays", buy a pizza at regular price and get the 2nd pizza free. Also, If you have an iDcard, the special is a large 3 topping pizza OR specialty pizza for $15.79 AND/OR buy a large pizza at menu price and get a Medium free. The worker Kevin and his manager Matt were both super friendly and very funny. Cracking jokes and letting me know that its almost done baking. I recommend coming to the nuuanu location for friendly and happy workers. :D Yelp 365 Challenge # 3/365.

I used the papa Johns app. to order using a promo code. A large one topping pie for $12. I have had this special before. I ordered a large thin crust. Everything went through fine with my order using my phone. Then moments later, I received a call from Nuuanu Papas to tell me they 'ran out of thin crust' Ran out of thin crust!? I told the rep that I thought Papa John's made their own crust, she said no. They order the crust and they don't have anymore thin crust. I went ahead with ordering regular crust. One good thing was that the cook made my pie well done to kinda resemble a thin crust. Anyone else ever heard of Papa John's running out of thin crust?

This is our "Go-To" pizza delivery joint here at work, we order from here at least once a week... Order on-line, confirm our order on-line and best of all is that they ALWAYS get our orders correct! Pizza just the way we ordered it! Chocolate Chip Cookie hot & delicious! Chicken wings on point...yummy! Web Specials, Promo Codes & Papa Rewards offer great deals, that's all we ever use! Fast & friendly delivery service is a huge plus.

Lots of promotions makes any meal time really easy. if you go in and do the hand carry, they seem much faster than waiting for the delivery. I guess when you are waiting and starving 30 mins feels like 2 hrs. when you wait for it, it takes only 15mins. the store/shop/rest? is bright and clean, the managers on duty seem very professional and helpful.

Life savers! The other night, I was craving pizza badly. Pizza with pepperoni, pineapples and jalapeno's to be exact. My BF and I decided we would order from Papa Johns On kapiolani. I was on their website and trying to complete my transaction for a carry out order, which took about 40 unsuccessful minutes in which they just closed. I was very angry at the store, at the online website and at my BF because it was HIS idea to go to this location; when I've kept reminding him that I only order our pizza from the Nuuanu location and no where else!! He drives to the Nuuanu location and parks. I'm online trying to complete my order yet again for this location in which it doesn't go well whatsoever lol, and it says they're closed. I was Livid! As I know they're open later than what the site said. So I called them. Surprisingly a young man answers & assists me RIGHT AWAY! Apologizing for the confusion on the site as well. I told him my order as I knew it at the top of my head and he placed my order in less than 15 minutes^_^ he gave me a 20 minute wait time and once it was ready, I made my BF get the pizza and right after he left the store, they had just closed. Lol I was super stoked that they made our pizza hehe. Especially mine. I ordered the Monday Madness (carry out only, special offer) : medium one topping $7. My one topping was Pepperoni, add on Jalapeño and Pineapple which came out to roughly $10. I ordered a personal pizza for my BF : 8" 3 topping and a drink for $8. He had the works, added bacon and grilled chicken with extra olives minus the bell pepper and onions. My total came out to 19.93. Which was absolutely fine with me! :) we went to the beach to eat our food and oh my lord! It was delicious!!!!!!! I ate it all. It satisfied my craving and now I'm a happy camper and it's already the next day. I'm craving for another one. Lol

I have been waiting close to two and a half hours on my order. The girl who took my order was extremely rude and after repeating my phone number, address, and credit card number at least 10 times she still managed to get it wrong. I called 4 times so far and the last time was about an hour ago and was promised a remade pizza free of charge and I still don't have my pizza. RIDICULOUS!!!

  • Zachary K.

Not too bad...only problem was that they switched the regular tomato sauce for BBQ sauce on my pizza once. I love the cheap $10 pizza specials! I am disappointed that they only have 1 peppercini per pizza now. Either that or the delivery people been munching on my 2nd peppercini. And what's the deal with charging $0.75 per sauce now?!

I use to order from this location because it was the closest to my house/work. Normally I don't have any issues, but today was an exception. I ordered my pizza at 11:29 am and figured it would take a while because it was lunch time (estimated was 55-65 minutes). I had no problem waiting an hour. Then an hour passed...and an hour and a half. I called to see what happened and they said it was on it's way and my work place is literally 2 blocks away on Bishop St. I got a call from the driver saying he'd be here in 5, showed up in 15. Obviously by now the pizza is cold. No apologies from the driver or anything. As I said, I've ordered from this location plenty of times and had no issues. I love the ease of ordering online and there are often coupons offered. To make sure everyone knows this is a one time incident, but it's enough to make me go else where for food.

Did the Web Wednesday deal. A large 3 topping / specialty for only $10! Earlier in the day I had liked a pic on FB and they sent me a $5 coupon. But I couldn't redeem the person sent me another code to use for future day. We got 2 pizzas and 8 wings for under $30! Yummy. We do have leftovers tonight though lol. The website was easy to use and told me the time it'd be done. I went down, I parked at Safeway to buy soda from there and got my pizza. I didn't have to wait, but there were people sitting around. One thing..... that made me kind of...grrrrrr...was the girl who was working the front, the one with the mean rash on her face. She didn't greet anyone that had walked, instead rolled her eyes like she was busy. A young guy emerged from the back area and greeted me and got my pizza and stuff. Sheesh. Was it that hard to get my pizza that was all paid for???!!! Got home and enjoyed my pizza ;)

Yelp 365 Challenge 2015 #53/365 When ordering pizza for carryout, we always come to this location because it's the closest Papa John's to our house. I like that this location has their own parking lot, with a lot of free parking. You can order online or on the phone and pick it up or have it delivered from this location. When you get a confirmation email after ordering line, it says the pizza will be ready in 15-25 minutes, but on a couple occasions we ended up waiting longer than the time given. In order to combat that, we usually shoot to head down there by the latest time given, and maybe even try to be later, just to be sure that we won't have to wait at the Papa John's for our pizza. Sometimes the workers are inattentive and I stand there for a minute or two, right in front of them, before they greet me and see what I need. That gets a little annoying, being that it's a tiny place, almost impossible to not see me walk through the door, and there are sometimes two or three of them at the front, and they figure that whatever they're doing is more important than even greeting me. Despite those things, the pizza never disappoints, and it isn't reason enough for us to not keep coming here. I'll deal with those things if it means convenience.

I ordered a pizza at 10:11 am and it was delivered by 10:33 am!! I wasn't expecting it until 11 am which surprised me big time. Talk about speedy service. I'm definitely going to call them for all my pizza cravings.

Not sure what's going on with this Papa Johns but they always seems to be running late. Took 1.5 hrs last time! And the pizza just isn't that great here. Can the ingredients used be that different from other PJ locations? I'm not ordering from this location again. Consistently disappointing and expensive.

  • Shannon J.

The woman who took my order was very friendly and even looked to see if there was a coupon/special for what I wanted to order. I was told it would be about 35 minutes for the order to be delivered, but after only 15 minutes was called and told that the driver just left the store with my order and would arrive within 5 minutes (he did). The pizza was good as usual. Thanks, Papa Johns!

I like their lunch special. Great deal. $6 gets you an 8" pizza and a 20oz bottle of soda. Tastes so much better than pizza hut's personal pan. Carry out is the way to go.

They really skimmed on ingredients. I'm not a big pizza fan, but I decided to try pizza delivery because I had a special coupon for a free, large, 1-topping pizza. Ordered 10 wings and a large pizza (1/2 chicken, 1/2 anchovies) with extra sauce. Came out to about $15 - $9 for the wings, $3 delivery fee, and tip. They REALLY skimmed on ingredients. I got about 4 anchovies on my anchovy half (keep in mind, anchovies are the cheapest fish out there, next to sardines). As for the chicken half of the pizza, it looked like they only used meat from 1 chicken wing. Maybe 1.5. And the "extra sauce"??? Barely there. I'd hate to see "regular sauce." As for the 10 wings, they all fit in the palm of my hand. They tasted good, but they were really small. If I did not have my coupon, I'd have paid a lot more for this meager amount of food and I would not have been happy with it at all. *** Note: Papa Johns may have purposefully skimmed on ingredients for my order because they saw that I'm a cheap bastard using a coupon for a large pizza. The abundance of ingredients on your pizza may vary.

Ordered delivery.....they were fast! And it's HALLOWEEN NIGHT! Pizza was great! Ordered the 'apple pie' too....pretty good but tell them extra glaze/frosting or have vanilla ice cream on hand to put on top!!! YUMMM!

I liked the Monday special. .buy a medium pizza for 7.00 and the large pizza for 3.00 more. it's carryout. I like to go carry out is because it saves money on delivery fees. I highly recommend this deal and Tuesdays is buy a medium or large pizza and get one for free..for those online savy, Wednesdays it is 10.00 for online only, also for the iD card holders, get 2 large pizzas for 25.98..it can't hurt to try it! Take advantage of the specials at Papa John's Hawaii. .

Today I ordered 2 large pizzas and a 30 piece chicken nuggets. My email said delivery in 40-50 minutes, they brought my order after an hour and gave it to me FREE! I can believe it! The "other guys" would have never given it FREE! I had to wait over 2 hours one time and I kept calling and calling. I'm sticking with Papa Johns!

Oi vei...Here I am writing a review about the Nuuanu Papa John's just as I am in the middle of a fitness challenge/weight loss goal. Oh well, might as well just admit that I had a moment of weakness and the cravings for a slice (or two whole pizzas) arose and a good offer beckoned me to Papa John's. The Nuuanu location is convenient and right next door to the Pali Safeway (should you need to make a salad to reduce the level of guilt) and offers a good amount of parking right in front if you decide to pick it up instead of being a true lazy butt and getting it delivered. The menu is your Papa John's menu and you can always check it out at papajohnshawaii.com . The pizzas are good and the crust well done but not too oily. It does come with the garlic butter dipping sauce which is a pleasant addition to dip your crusts in to! Don't worry, butter never has any calories (sense sarcasm here)! Service is generally efficient. I wouldn't say warn and friendly, but when it comes to pizza you want efficiency. You want to place your order, pick up in 10 to 15 minutes and be on your way! That is exactly what you get when you go to the Nuuanu papa johns.

*Four stars for the "big chain pizza in Hawaii" category.* How To Order a Pizza from Papa John's Nu'uanu 1) Hop online at papajohnshawaii.com to check out the weekly specials. My most recent purchase was a 2-topping XL for $15 and they were also offering a L 1-topping for $12 amongst other splendid options. 2) Use their awesome cyber system to build and order your pizza. You can put toppings over the whole pizza or toppings on only half the pizza but resist the urge to use every topping just because the animation is so darn fun. Don't know what I'm talking about? Go order a pizza. 3) Customize further by selecting options under "special instructions" for sauce, cheese, bake, and cut. You can order a cheeseless vegetarian pizza for your skinny vegan friends, have your pie cut into squares for your child's birthday party, or order it with "light sauce" or even "no sauce" if there is something seriously wrong with you. TIP: If you order "extra sauce" from this location as I always do, be sure to order it "well done" lest you pick up your first slice and it goes limp causing the saucy toppings to slide onto your unsuspecting lap. It's difficult to appear hot and charismatic when you have pizza toppings down your front. 4) Add on your extras. Special seasoning is FREE! Request ten packets then use it to season other foods. Like chicken. 5) Go pick up your pizza. Unless you don't want to. Then have it delivered, but it will take much longer than opting for carryout and you'll have a delivery fee plus a tip to make your pizza deal seem not so deal-ish. Not unlike when something is on sale at Times for 15 cents off the normal price. 6) Repeat. WARNING: Depending on your lifestyle, overzealous repetition may have dire effects on your body shape.

They are always nice to me on the phone but the last two times I ordered it took forever to receive my order for delivery. I would've walked there since I was so close both times, but it was late. and the food was not hot at all. I know it's delivery but I definitely have had better.
