Perfectly Executed Tropical Fruit Cocktails (Thanks to Jesse--Great Bartender & Conversationalist. Food is Yummy--Portions not too small or large Scenic Views are some of the best Waikiki has to offer. Perfect Beach to people watch and/or snuggle up and watch the sunset. (Missing a STAR--Prices could be a tad lower)

Dooooo you like piña coladas and getting caught up along the beach? Located in front of Waikiki beach, having lounge chairs, AC in the restaurant, great service and a swimming pool exclusive to Duke, Duke is THE place to be at! Get their backscratcher cocktail if you want a souvenir. Their piña coladas are a classic win on tropical paradiso for meeeee! Some food items to snack on would be their wings and/or poke poke! From beachside, servicing, getting fed with drinks to cool down with and AC indoors, I can stay here for half or more of the paradise, pleasantly day here! Aloha.

Only negative was the wait, but the meal more than made up for it and brings my review back up to 5 stars. My wife and I had the fresh fish preparations, which were fantastic and may have me coming back a 2nd time before the trip is over. Great atmosphere and fun setting on the beach. Great and attentive service, which is commendable considering how busy they are.

I ate here last time I came to Hawaii and it was very good you should not miss the hula pie as it is delicious and something unique to the island.

We did the outside bar menu (rind tables) instead of the inside (square tables) and it was a good choice. The Kulau pork sandwich was out of this world. The Maui Brewing Company Brown Ale was a perfect compliment. My wife got the fish and chips and she was very pleased with it... But it couldn't hang with the pork sandwich.

Always a stop when here for vacation. Never a disappointment. Great view while enjoying a cocktail or eating one of the many delicious items on their menu. We will always come back.

Absolutely GREAT place! Went here for lunch with my wife while on vacation and had a great experience! Great drinks, great food, great service and a spectacular view of the beach!

We ate lunch at Dukes for our stay over in Honolulu. The ambiance of the restaurant, the music, and the location on the beach was great. I had The Itch and my wife had the Lava Flow for drinks. The Lava Flow was fantastic, however I was not a fan of The Itch, which I would say had a striking resemblance to cough syrup in taste. I had the pulled pork sandwich, the food was very good, but I would have liked a little more BBQ sauce on the sandwich itself. Service was OK, it was fairly busy and they did seem a little short staffed.

TLDR: Overrated. Mediocre expensive food and long wait lines. We just had our dinner here. The veggie stuffed peppers were ok and steak/chicken skewers were subpar and we paid $50 for just those two!

Expectations not met for food or service. Disappointing. I waited tables for years to put myself through college so I don't believe I'm unreasonable on food or service.

Love Dukes ! We have been going there for lunch every time we come to Waikiki and thus the local servers know us and my kids. It's the picture perfect setting for lunch and if you wanna have fun mingle with the locals at the Bar. Food wise you can't go wrong with the Poke, Fish Tacos and Calamari. In fact everything is good. Make sure you order the Mai Tai. Some think it's too sweet, but ask for an extra shot of rum. Oh and of course don't forget the Hula Pie!

  • Elijah K.

Good eats! Great service! Excellent ambiance! Was recommended by a friend (local); and since it was within walking distance from our hotel, we tried it out. Duke's did not disappoint. Wife and I started with the calamari. Holy moly, probably the best you will ever have in your life. Topped those off with a Duke's blonde...so good! We also ordered the wings and the kabob. Both extremely tasty. We plan to bring others here when they come to visit us from mainland or motherland. Would definitely recommend and return for the food and live music.

Twenty minute wait for lunch on a Saturday is worth it for the buffet. Not crowded and a good selection of food. It is a nice casual place for lunch in Waikiki.

    (5)
  • Sarina A.

You'd assume touristy places didn't have well made food but I was surprised at how good the food was. The calamari was breaded but not overly breaded. The bread was just the right amount and the actual calamari was a good amount of meat. The ahi poke duo was tasty. The mac nut chicken katsu surprised me. I didnt expect the katsu to be as juicy as it was. The 2 dipping sauces are a good match. The hula pie is what everyone says it is- the hype is real! I was also surprised at how well their portion size is. It was perfect. I would come back for the food.

Worth the wait. Delicious food and drinks with an upbeat and welcoming atmosphere. If you're on vacation, be sure to check out Malibu Shirts next door while you wait (the buzzer works in the stores of the Outrigger Hotel) for some vintage Souvenirs of the Hawaiian Islands!

had dukes again on our most recent trip and just like old times - we thoroughly enjoyed our meal!!!! their lava flow and tropical smoothies are to.die.for!!!!! everything we had was so damn delicious - from the nachos to fish n chips to burger to korean tacos! yes the dishes are pretty pricey but you are eating at dukes after all and hello - have you seen the awesome view from most tables? i admit it's a touristy spot but it's worth spending some $$ on!

$16.95 breakfast buffet in Waikiki, right off of the beach, what a deal!! It was our first visit and I'd have to say I'm a happy customer. The food was great. My favorites were the Omelet station (omelette specials are available to choose from, too), banana pancakes, and the Lilikoi Mimosa. Our server was attentive. The view was amazing. The wait time was only 5 minutes at 9:30am on a Sunday morning. We'll be back to check out dinner and the live entertainment!

I can't believe I haven't written a review about Dukes. We love it here. For four dollars with an entree you get to eat from from the fabulous salad bar. Very fresh veggies. But I will warn you, save some room for your entree. Last night I had the seafood luau. My husband always gets the steak. My son likes the Huli Huli chicken. Our friend went for the ribs. All were perfect portions. Very yummy. This place is a busy and popular place. Be sure to make reservations. It's nice to sit by the window. Sometimes there is live music to sometimes not. You can ask when you make your reservation. We couldn't even touch the hula pie, which is ice cream. Luckily we live nearby and put it in the freezer. It still tastes great although it lost its original appearance. :)

This place is ok as far as food goes. The best thing this place has going for it is the location on the beach. Have a meal at the tables outside with a view of and right next to the beach, have some drinks, and walk right out onto the sand. The food itself was mediocre for the price. The poke wasn't that good, but the fried calamari went well with our drinks. It's somewhat of a tourist trap, but its nice to have meal basically on the beach.

Amazing! Right next to the beach, great drinks and even better food. Just be prepared to shell out money, but who cares, you are in Hawaii!

Absolutely Fabulous! Dinner and drinks on Waikiki Beach overlooking Diamond Head. What's not to love? Had some out of town guests party of 19 last night and it was gorgeous! The staff was so accommodating and the service was on spot! The food was fresh and delish! As locals we just love coming here and especially when hosting some visiting friends. Been here many times and never disappointed, ever. Last night just made me love this place more. We had the coconut shrimp, baby back ribs, sun-dried tomato hummus, spicy wings, fries and of course their famous hula pie! Our usual Mai Tai and Fire Rock pale ale to compliment. Did I mention the View? WOW! It was spectacular! Always a treat! Big Mahalo to Dinning Mgr Richard Nguyen! You and your staff are awesome!

My husband and I went for a different restaurant but ended up at Duke's - pleasantly surprised! The chicken & steak kabob's were so good! The grilled veggies, rice pilaf and pineapple relish were fantastic! Best meal yet!

My husband and I Honeymooned in Hawaii and Dukes was our breakfast spot for the entire week. Loved the ocean view and attentive waiters/waitresses who kept our mimosas coming! The food was great... Typical breakfast buffet options which included pancakes, omelets, eggs Benedict, sausage, bacon, fruit and some seafood. Everything was very fresh! We can't wait to go back to Waikiki so that we can make Dukes our vacation tradition!

This review is for the breakfast buffet only...as that's the only time we eat here! If you're looking for a nice breakfast buffet, the views and the price to food quality ratio can't be beat. There is Shore Bird, too but Duke's presentation and food is a notch better in my opinion and it's reflected in the price difference. The only thing that Shore Bird has is carving station..but enough about the "competition" let's talk about Duke's: Pros: -Made to order omelets - always nice and attentive staff -great views of Waikiki and Diamond Head and all its action -good size restaurant so wait time isn't too bad if any (if it's NOT a holiday or special occasion) - indoor/outdoor seating options but it's pretty open to the elements so even if you're sitting "inside" the outside is totally visible. -easy valet, just pull up and its a short walk to the restaurant past a few shops. Cons: -driveway for the valet parking can be hard to see at first blush, there's not big entrance or awning designating the front of the hotel really... -no validated valet parking (free parking is across the way at the other Outrigger property) -the omelet station can get super busy so if you see a lull...jump on it! -rouge birds around your table -inadvertent speedo spotting while eating

I got the chicken sandwich and a lava flow. Absolutely delicious and the staff were so kind. It can be difficult to get a seat around dinner time, but if you get there around 5pm they open up lower patio which gives you a great view of the beach!

Duke's on Sunday is the place to be. This place was packed. I knew it would be crowded so I went ahead of my family while they were at hotel and put my name in at 6:30pm and it still took 1 hour and 45 minutes to get seated. I was having a good time at the bar mixing in with all the locals. All the locals come to Duke's on Sundays so be prepared to wait. I basically took a star away for that and for the amount of time it took us to get our food. We had a party of 8, I understand but there were lots of large groups and there was another group who sat next to us about 20 minutes after us that got their food and drinks before we did. It was 4th of July weekend so I understand the number of people out but it wasn't cool. The food is great. They have great seasonal fish to choose from. Try the salad bar add on for a few extra bucks. The waiter did try and make it up to us and gave us a free dessert. Too bad my daughter passed out from her long day out enjoying Waikiki because we ate her dessert. The atmosphere at Duke's is great and the scenery is priceless right on the water. If you don't want to wait you can try the Hula Grill upstairs with the same views. Had breakfast there twice. Happy eating!

We waited about 45 minutes for a table (starting at 6:15 with no reservation). It was a packed Sunday night. The staff were all friendly and responsive. I was impressed with the blended coconut mojito. It tasted amazing. The calamari was also prepared quite nicely. Tender and juicy. The salad bar was a bit pricey but my wife thought it was unique and tasted really good. The mango bbq ribs were tender and reasonably priced for the location and atmosphere. Lastly, the hula pie...OUTSTANDING. I would go back for just the mojito and hula pie. In all, it took us two years to make it here and we are glad we finally made it. We will be taking our future visitors here when we need a good place to eat or drink.

Dukes is a very popular restaurant that my big family and I went to. The atmosphere is great and it has a brilliant view for sunset. We waited awhile for our food to come out, when it finally came out it was so-so. Nothing out of this world. My cousins burger was like a hockey buck the first time out and the second time out it was still moo-ing, the third time they finally got it right. Other than that good service and an ok place to eat.

  • Anastasia V.

Breakfast buffet was good, a nice variety of breakfast food. We were able to get a table right away with no reservation on a Sunday. But most importantly the service was outstanding! Plates taken away and coffee/juice refills in minutes even though the restaurant was full! Will definitely go back!

This is one of those places you visit just because you're in Waikiki. We actually came here for lunch right from the airport. Lunch is a good time to visit because it's less crowded particularly if you arrive at around 1pm. We were a group of 10 and there was no wait. They also have a pretty good lunch buffet and the kalua pork is one of the best you will ever have. Be sure to get a table with a water/beach view and you'll have a great, casual time over lunch

  • Jake W.

Would be a 3.5 if possible. Good drinks, alright food, nothing crazy. The beachfront makes it a great spot, but the prices are not the most welcome. Always worth a stop in you're in town. I suggest stating that you just got engaged and a big slice of Hulu pie after your meal...just saying....

  • Rupa S.

I'd give 3.5 stars. A-ok food, nice view of beach, polite staff. Gets busy so make a reservation if you don't want to wait 30-50mins! Saves you the time. Better value for breakfast than dinner. For breakfast you get fruits, rolls, bread, omelettes, pancakes, coffee and juice. It's not a superb breakfast, but it's got tasty stuff, coffee, omelette bar-- so what more could you ask? . For dinner--- it's alright . But it's expensive for the quality and flavours of food. It's not bad food but it's not delicious flavourful food. The salad bar is pretty decent - Mac/potato salad, beans, kale salad, taro rolls and create your own. You can upgrade your meal to the salad bar for some $3.95. Dessert was good too! Calamari app was so good!! Yeah it's touristy and blah blah but you're on vacation, you came to Waikiki so enjoy the touristy food, that's okay with the ocean breeze!

We came here for both lunch and dinner during our stay in Waikiki and it was fantastic both times. Great staff and atmosphere - but definitely SPLIT the hula pie!! Thanks for really adding to our trip!

For being such a "place you have to go to" while vacationing in waikiki, I wasnt impressed at all. The location and atmosphere is decent for the area, but the food wasnt impressive. Family of 5, we all got something different... I tried the buffet this time (came here 12 yrs ago), and it was ok. The chicken teryaki was pretty good, and the fish was ok too but that was all here was for entree choices. The rolls were generic and cold. The rice was not kept fresh, and was very sticky and clumpy. 2 kids meals were ok... nothing exceptional. Service was ok too, but not blown away... Took what seemed like forever to get my check. Overall, most restaurants outside of the cheesecake factory here in waikiki arent very good really, and I travel all over the country. I understand here in hawaii things are expensive but combined with that should be high quality, and we didnt find that here. If we come back to oahu, we will not be coming back here.

Right on the beach mon! Strong Mai Tais and food. Can't go wrong! Waiters/waitresses were attentive and quick. The view of the beach was awesome and the food was great. Prices reasonable too.

We strolled along the beach and ended up coming here for our first meal in Hawaii. We were exhausted from flying all day and looking for something quick and not extremely filling. We opted for the beach bar area option. Service was okay, they were pretty busy but the style of how we went to the hostess and then waited for a table seemed disorganized. We sat down at an empty table close to the bar and then moved to our table. We ordered Mai tai's and it may have been the exhaustion but they seemed overpriced and watered down for what you get. I ordered the Kalua pork burger. It was pretty good but nothing extraordinary. I will say I'm giving this a three for the quality compared to price and I also felt rushed when finishing my meal. The waitress came to take my plate and appeared annoyed when I indicated I was still working on it. Better to get away from the "beach bars" for more reasonable food for the price.

Friendly restaurant with good service. It does get crowded so you have to call in for reservations, if you want to dine in. You can eat at the bar area without reservations, but I don't know if they have a different set of menus. The main dining area menu was okay, but not very extensive for Waikiki. The 4 fish menus are good for sure and yhe waiter does a great job of explaining how each is prepared so you know what your getting. $11 Mai Tai are a little expensive. If you want to eat at a famous restaurant, this place has it. It's Dukes.

Came to this place on accident. We were looking for another restaurant (Shorebird), but we came here instead! And my goodness, I'm glad we came here! FYI, we ate in the dining room, not the regular restaurant. So we didn't have access to the burgers and fries. But just know that all 5 of us had licked our dinner plates clean! And the appetizer plates too. We started off with the calamari and poke duo appetizers. The calamari was good, not the best. It was calamari steak strips breaded and fried with cocktail sauce. But the poke was great! Two different kinds, one spicy and one not. Very nice presentation. Fresh fish. Now onto the main courses. The mac nut and herb crusted opah was fantastic!! It was tasty and soft. The rice pilaf it came with was also good. They didn't give much veggies except something that looked like mini sea asparagus. The mango baby back ribs were so delicious! A lot of flavor and tender meat that fell off the bone. The prime rib was good, a nice big beautiful piece of meat. The seafood luau was good, but not superb. The bite I had didn't have too much flavor. The waitress was nice, good service. Not excellent, but good. The guys who brought the food and took our plates could have smiled and been more polite, but nothing bad. Hands down, I would definitely come back for the food!

One of our favorite spots for dinner offering great food, service and reasonable prices. My wife and I made a reservation in advance on Open Table to dine here on a Monday night. We arrived a little early but didn't have to wait long to be shown to our table. As other reviewers have said this place is always busy and tonight was no exception. We were seated just under the roofline with a nice view out over the deck towards the ocean. There was a nice ocean breeze making for a pleasant evening. For our entrées, we both ordered off their fresh fish menu. I picked the macadamia nut crusted opah or moonfish while my wife selected the mahi-mahi. Both were expertly prepared and very tasty. I'm not usually a seafood eater but the opah was so good that it may indeed turn me from being primarily a meat eater. Before our fish arrived, we both took advantage of their $3.95 salad bar option. I think this is a fantastic deal as in addition to your regular salad bar offerings they have a great selection of prepared salads with their pasta salad being my particular favorite along with a nice selection of fresh fruit. Service throughout the meal was spot on. We had several different folks attend to our needs in a team approach method. Everyone was quite friendly and pleasant seeming to enjoy working here and it showed. Our tab came in under $100 for the two of us including Mai Tais, tax and tips which I think is very good for Hawaii and for food prepared this well.

My husband and I came here for lunch while on honeymoon. They gave us really nice ocean view table. We had lunch buffet. Food was delicious and prices weren't bad for a nice ocean front restaurant. Definitely worth checking out

Horrendous service. Food was good but nothing to write home about. Waited forever for second round of drinks and they actually never came. Asked for bill and waited 15 more minutes. Paid, waited 15 more minutes for cc to come back. Not worth the $95 we spent for no alcohol and 2 kids.

Always a great place to go for drinks with friends. The ambiance is lively, quite the happening place to hang out. The restaurant is very loud but not overwhelming at all. It's always crowded. The view is spectacular since its on the beach. The staff is very laid back and friendly. The food is good. Nothing really stands out for me to remember to mention here..I've been here several times and have tried almost everything on the menu from breakfast to late nite dinners. I will say the calamari was delicious..large size bites. Drinks are good too. Margaritas and Mai Tai. The bar is great..bartenders will customize your drinks. Best known for its location and legendary name, Duke's. This place will not disappoint. Great view, clean, friendly, good food, good drinks, and good times. And they make leis headbands etc with fresh flowers for you if you desire. Live music in the evening.

I so wanted to like this place. My girls and I wanted to dine here with a recommendation from a local. We were told there was formal seating, the bar or casual seating down near the sand, just steps away from the ocean, we opted for the casual dining and had a short 15 minute wait to be seated. After being seated my daughters ordered their drinks and immediately ordered kids meals, I ordered a blonde ale and an appetizer Ahi tuna Poke which I wanted as an entree. After about 5 minutes from ordering the girls got their drinks and another 5 minutes later they got their dinner. I, on the other hand waited 20-30 minutes from the time they started eating, for me to get my Ahi poke appetizer. I wasn't in the mood to complain so i patiently waited. The waitress asked me if I had just gotten it, and I gave her a look and nodded my head. After eating I asked our waitress for a box for one of the kids meals and the check. I don't think I saw that waitress again because I asked someone else for a box and the check. I was reluctant in leaving a tip due to the poor service or lack thereof, and I was tempted to call management to complain and have our meals comp'ed but I didn't have the energy to go through all that. I just felt I had a terrible 1st experience at Duke's. The only reason I am leaving 3 stars is because the location is nice, with breathtaking views of the moon and the ocean and the decor was beach-y. I feel that since it was a very busy night I might come back at least once more in the future to give this establishment another shot.

This place is huge. There is inside section, and inside-outside section, and an outside section. The latter two operate on their own system, so if its packed (which being in the prime tourist area of Waikiki, it will be), add your name on the waiting list for both. We waited about 30 min for an outside area - which step right onto the shoreline and gets away from the crowds for a breath of sea air. Their pager system works great, and the ambient light sets the mood. Would recommend Duke to get some 2 seater tables in the outside area to accomodate more parties. Staff was amazingly friendly, and weirdly young / attractive. You could tell they have to be top notch to work here. Our waitress was awesome, and gave us a complimentary bag of magical dry rice, which saved the life of my boyfriend's wet iPhone. The food was just OK. Calamari seemed bland, although texture was crisp. The poke combo had one side too spicy, and the grilled fish of the day didn't give that satisfaction you'd expect from being right on the beach. Them Pina Coladas though... mmMMmMm.

My new husband and I went here on our last night on Oahu. We wanted somewhere nicer but not bougie or anything. This seemed to fit the bill. Being inside a hotel, of course it attracted tourists like us. Our server was extremely helpful and had a great personality. Drinks: Husband had the Mai Tai - super strong, the best one he had all trip. I had the Lava Flow - delicious! I don't even like coconut things but this was good. Dinner: He got the salad bar option for just an extra $4 on top of our meal. Seemed like a good deal! I avoided it because I wanted to be able to fit my meal into my stomach. I ordered the Sauteed Mac Nut and Herb Crusted Opah, which was just perfect! So fresh, and the perfect combination of flavors to complement the fish. The mashed potatoes were so creamy! No leftovers here. He ordered the Spicy Sesame-Ginger Glazed fish...I don't remember what kind of fish it was! But it was definitely good, and had a nice kick to it. I still liked my dish better. :) Dessert: We shared the original Hula Pie. Holy crap this thing was huge! This was good, but not my favorite dessert. It was basically just ice cream. My husband, however, was all over this. Being an ice cream guy, this was his shit.

Went to Dukes for their breakfast buffet and was highly impressed. Food was all prepared well and had all kids of choices. The passion fruit mimosa was fantastic. Great scenery and value on Waikiki.

Very friendly bartenders. The most amazing piña colada. Fast moving place--packed but large enough so we didn't have to wait long. The wings were great

This might be the best place to have lunch on Waikiki Beach. The Lunch buffet is a great deal. There is plenty to choose from at the buffet. The service is excellent and you cannot beat the view of the beach and Diamond Head. I would highly recommend stopping here for lunch.

So we came here for dinner based on people RAVING about it. I would say it was "OK". It has a fun vibe to it and looks out over the beach with an open floor plan. It was hot hot HOT that evening which made it a bit uncomfortable to relax and eat given there is no AC, but they do have ceiling fans. The server was GREAT, and incredibly attentive. The cocktails good - we all had the coconut mojito and it was FANTASTIC. I am going with the three stars though due to the hefty prices for average food. Everyone at the table had entree's which were somewhat sparse for the prices paid. I got the "famous" salad bar for 18 bucks and it was less than. Just your average basic salad stuff, some various pasta/rice salads and rolls. That is it. Probably won't come back for anything other than cocktails only.

Best spot to Hang Loose with a group of friends or ohana, have a drink, listen to good music, and have delicious drinks. Best lava flow in town, hands down!!! Being right on the beach, and being able to walk in with swimsuit and flip flops doesn't hurt :)

Been to Dukes plenty of times over the years and it's always been fun. I've met people at the bar, watched the beach-goers, and always had friendly and prompt service. I'll always make a stop when I'm in Honolulu.

Dukes is a family tradition you can't come to Hawaii and skip out on Dukes. Great drinks and tasty food will always keep me coming back. Service: 4 stars, our waiter was great, friendly, and helpful on giving us recommendations. As with many restaurants the service started great and throughout the night he got harder and harder to find, still service was good but just worth mentioning. Drinks: their cocktails here are great! Go with the girly drinks they make them really good here, great mai tai and lava flows! Location: 5 stars, breath taking as always. Reserve in advance a seat overlooking the ocean. It's pure magic, nothing like good food and a great view. Lastly, the food. 5 stars of amazingness. Everything here is great I've tried so many dishes each one tastes better then the last. First make sure you start with the salad bar; it's one of the best salad bars I've ever seen. My two favorite dishes here are the 1. Fresh fish of the day with the mac butter nut capper sauce & 2. The seven spice seared ahi tuna! Fantastic! End your dish with a hula pie and that calls for a 5 star restaurant

We always eat at Duke's when we come to Honolulu. I'm not eating there again. We stopped for lunch. The food was tasteless and the fans were not blowing enough to cool off in the heat.

I like Duke's. I've always been a fan of their selection. I really enjoyed their buffet. However, the location of this Duke's just kicked its likability up a notch. The view (the beach) is just breathtaking and so relaxing. I didn't even want to leave! And of course, service is an A.

Food was yummy. Service sucked. Waited a while to be waited on but we weren't the only ones. The table next to us went through it too. My husband had to ask for a refill. Atmosphere was nice, the live music was lovely but other than that I wouldn't go back. We were told to go here by 2 different people. And I also heard the brunch is good. I will definitely try the one in California but never again in Hawaii.

Glorified version of a chili's. Yes some dishes are better prepped, and use better quality ingredients but there are few things they stand out for. They have live entertainment and a view to the ocean from the patio, but not much else going on there.

This would have been a five star review if only the prices were a bit cheaper. The food was very good. The coconut shrimp appetizer was awesome, and the mac nut fish and the ahi dinner and the seafood curry were all excellent! The service was solid and the ambiance was a bit crowded and noisy, but fun, and the views of the ocean were lovely. The drinks were also really tasty; I had an excellent mai tai, as well as a mint (blended) mojito which was super unique.

Great breakfast buffet, reasonably priced! Nice spread of sausages, eggs, fruit, french toast, banana pancakes and eggs Benedict with all the normal buffet choices. Great coffee! Beautiful view from the restaurant as it sits on Waikiki beach! Give it a try

Beachfront location, but just like any other Dukes. Same menu with larger crowds and more people. They outdoor and indoor seating work independently if you have a preference.

Brought my mom here because all of her friends back home told her that she MUST try the Hula Pie. We had been here once before and absolutely loved it. This time was an even better experience! We started with drinks at the bar while we waited for our table. Our waiter was super friendly and gave some good recommendations on what we should try. Mom and I had the Huli Huli chicken and Hubby had the ribs. Everything tastes awesome. We added the salad bar for an extra $3.95 and it was SO worth it. Lots of options and really good salad! We of corse ordered the hula pie for dessert and it was to die for! So yummy!

Dukes never disappoints. It is a must see when in Waikiki. The drink menu is extensive. The wait staff is friendly, cheerful and helpful. Great salad bar, fresh fish and the hula pie is to die for. Music before 6 pm. Sat outside at a bar table and then moved in to the restaurant for dinner. Amazing views of diamond head and waikiki beach. Great amount of food. I highly recommend a visit or two to Dukes.

Tried to make reservations for this place a few nights during our stay but we could never get them in on time. We finally just went and waited for a table and it took about 45 min which is pretty expected for the amount of business this place does. The staff is very nice, we got a few drinks from the bar as we waited so it didn't feel like a long wait. For an app my wife and I shared the fried calamari which was very good. As our entrees my wife got the mahimahi and i got the opah(moonfish). Both of our entrees were very good, nice portions and pretty plates. We were on our honeymoon and we got a complimentary hula pie which was amazing. Apparently they are famous for this dessert and I can see why, its huge and it's very delicious. Our waitress was very nice and kept our drinks topped off throughout a very busy night. Thank you Duke's!

Heather was a sweetheart, the waitress we had prior to her early this afternoon was very blunt and stern. The food was absolutely delicious and practically on the beach. I got the fresh fish sandwich with their fish of the day (Golub). The fish was light, flakey, and buttery. I wish it could have been seasoned just slightly more though. I got the Hawaiian time liquor beverage and the basil was the "cherry on top". I would of loved if it had more basil. My fiancé got the Cajun chicken sandwiched and he was satisfied as well. Now I know why people say "you gotta go to Dukes!!" When in Hawaii. We will be back!

Fun place. What you would imagine a Waikiki beach place to be. Solid food in the vein of better chains. Not a huge menu but enough to please my family's wide range of tastes. Salads, burgers but also Kailua? Pug, yakisoba, Teri chicken etc. lunch buffet was reasonably priced given the area - $17.95 and 8.95 for kids. Nothing too unique here but solid meal with a Waikiki vacay vibe and very good service!

I had the sirloin; oh me gee, it was perfect! The Lava Flow (drink) is awesome, too. Staff is very friendly + the atmosphere is fun! It's right on the beach!

Busy place. Great food, we had the fish special and fish tacos. Service was good on the patio but we couldn't hear the live music. Make a reservation in the bar area if you want to be involved in the party atmosphere

Service was outstanding. Poke appetizer was fresh and delicious. Entree of fish with coconut sauce on point. Saw the sunset as we ate and sipped wine. Great place for date!

If you are a local, I wouldn't recommend going here. The food isn't bad. They have some pretty good dishes but parking is a nightmare. The waits are insane and it's too crowded and loud. But I'm sure tourists expect some of that.

Way way back in the day, I used to hang out here with the Northwest Airlines crew. Hot Tub for hours, barefoot bar, $1.99 Mai Tai's. I guess I was so liquored up at the time that I didn't notice the place smells like feet & a little bit of barf too. I couldn't get wife to sit, even for a minute. #nostalgia

This place was a pleasant surprise because we were not intending to eat here. Service was excellent as the waitress (Raquel) was knowledgeable when it came to the menu. She was spot on with all her recommendations. Awesome crab wonton appetizer and great New York cut steak. Food, service and price make for a great date night. PS. If your there on Saturday night and seated on the patio overlooking the hotel pool you will also see a nice fireworks display which starts a 8:00 Visited July 2015

It's a good place to chill after beach, get some drinks and enjoy some music. It's too crowded sometimes and the service can be slow. But, the place is good!!

OH NO, I made a mistake and came here on a Friday night. Tourist central!!!!! Yes I am a tourist too, but that night was cray! It was jam packed with many people, some were just incredibly rude. I just wanted to check out the bar and grab a drink. It was crowded as heck. Their saving grace? They make goooooood drinks. A bit pricey, but what do you expect with them being in Waikiki. Definitely try the Mai Tai $11 and Endless Summer $10. Well now thinking about it, prices are that bad compared to what I pay for in Brooklyn/Manhattan. They ID everyone and if you don't have your ID, you get no drink. Witnessed this sitting at our perfectly-timed-ladies-left-those-are-my-seats at the bar. Results: Would I go here again? Eh, I don't know if the drinks are really worth the crowd. Maybe really early before the people come.
