This place is very easy to find in Hilo. Decided to try a local coffee shop instead of having the usual, Starbucks. I got an iced americano, which was one of the best cups of americanos I've tried before. I added white chocolate syrup to sweeten. The white chocolate didn't make it too sweet, which I loved because usually white chocolate syrup makes the coffee way too sweet to drink. However, my favorite was their breakfast sandwich. I got an egg, bacon, and chesse sandwich on an asiago bagel. All for just $4.50! Usually the bagel is about 50% of the sandwich but in this case the proportion of the bagel was perfect! It wasn't too thick where I wasn't able to finish the entire sandwich without getting full off of just the bagel. I liked that I got an even proportion of the bagel as well as the what was inside. Definitely recommend!

Wow! Who would have thought this tiny building located on a corner in Hilo would serve up such creamy, phenomenal milkshakes? I was a bit skeptical about trying this place at first because I was told by the girl at the window that they didn't use the actual flavors of ice cream in their milkshakes, but they blend vanilla ice cream with the flavor of your choice. (They have some twenty plus flavors including amaretto, chocolate fudge, Oreo, peanut butter, etc.) After being let down by the "shakes" at the Godiva in Waikele (they serve blended drinks with truffle chocolates as opposed to real ice cream), I was about to pass on by and hit the Baskin Robbins up the street, but my girls gave me that puppy dog look so I decided to stay and give it a try. The shakes were reasonably priced so I figured I didn't have much to lose. I'm glad I stayed! I ordered them a toasted marshmallow shake and myself an iced chai tea latte. The latte was very good and sweet with strong flavors of fragrant chai. After taking my "mommy tax" from their order and tasting the creamy, delicious richness of their milkshake, I decided to order myself a mocha shake. It was so good! It had a shot of espresso in it as well that didn't overwhelm the sweetness of the shake. Both shakes were blended to a perfect consistency that you could easily drink it up the straw. If you're ever on Big Island and in need to fulfill a milkshake craving, this is definitely the place to hit!

LOVE this place!!! Hands down THE best coffee in Hilo. Use to go there pretty much everyday. Moved to Honolulu, but still make a special effort to visit when I'm back in Hilo. The Carmel latte is excellent! The mac nut pest chicken wrap is amazing too! Suggest they open a store here in Honolulu...would blow away what's currently available here! Aloha!

Located at the corner of Kilauea and Aupuni Streets is Just Cruisin Coffee. It has drive-thru and walk-in service. The baristas are super friendly and helpful. It's one of a few places in Hilo where you can get a bagel for breakfast, and they have good bagels here. Their menu is large and has something for everyone. Aside from coffee, they have hot chocolate, smoothies, italian soda, milk shakes. They also make croissant sandwiches. The chicken pesto macnut one is delicious. They have some outdoor seating and counter-top seating inside. The cafe doesn't look like much from the outside, but the people and the quality of food and service here make you come back over and over again. Note: the address listed on yelp is at Kinoole which is incorrect. They are now located at 835 Kilauea.

This place is pretty bomb. They have some killer sandwiches and their prices are good for a private place. It's cool that you can kick it outside or just cruise on through the Drive-Thru. Bonus: If you have a dog, they give dog biscuits!

Yo mama's so dumb, she thought Dunkin' Donuts was a basketball team! I'm not really a regular of Just Cruisin Coffee by any means, but whenever I'm in the area and feeling like I either need to cool off with a nice shake or warm up with a little coffee, I make sure to drop by to fuel up. The drinks are always prepared upon ordering, so you know for a fact that you're getting something fresh. On the topic of freshness, as far as I know, Just Cruisin uses only natural flavorings for their smoothies and such. For example: I'm a fan of their pineapple shakes, especially on a hot summer day. And in that shake, you can really taste the sweetness of a fresh pineapple. It's just a step above any other drink that you might get somewhere else that uses artificial flavors. Another thing that I really love to get from Just Cruisin is their breakfast croissant sandwiches. They are SO good in the mornings. It's like the classy and more delicious big brother of a McMuffin', only better. Anyways, I think it would be a travesty to not give Just Cruisin a try at least once, just to check it out. I'm sure that after just one try, you'll be just as into it as I am. I mean, they have two drive-through windows. It's great!

Just Cruisin is a cool little coffee/smoothie shop. Ive seen some of the cutest girls serving literally the sweetest drinks you will find in Hilo. The drinks. Sweet. I'm not a sweet kinda guy my teeth ache at the meer though of sugary things. So be sure if you like your drinks bitter you tell them, or it will be sweet. I am also not a hot coffee guy. I prefer toddys. Their toddys are strong and taste good. I usually get this unsweetend and it is to my liking. Ive had a number of smoothies here with soy (lactose Intollerence) and they were good. A bit on the thick side (and sweet side) but good. The food. I normally get the macnut pesto sandwich. Its good. Its served on a Kaiser roll which is a large hamburger like bun with cheese baked into the top crust. The filling is a tuna salad-sh mix of pesto, macnuts, chicken and onions. Its pretty damn good. It comes with fresh onions, tomato and lettuce. You also have your choice of a fresh fruit or a cookie. Ive had both. Take the fruit its better for you and its better. I doubt they do their own baked goods there. They are ok. I find that they would be hard pressed to have room enough to bake anything in there. The price is comparable to any other coffee shop in Hilo. Food seems a bit pricey but the drinks come in at about average price. Atmosphere once again my most common complaint. Space. Huge parking lot, small kitchen, smaller dine in area. There is an outdoor umbrella-ed smoker friendly area at the corner of the property rustically located beneath the boughs of an autograph tree. Its cute if you smoke or its not raining. Lets face it this is Hilo normally it will rain at least once a day. Indoor seating: Tuna Can style: 8 Comfortably: 3 Not much space IMO No coffee shop couches to lay about in just metal chairs and barstools. They do offer free wifi but I would be hard pressed to sit in there for several hours yelping or facebooking or whatever else. Just a warning, the parking lot. Another victim of a wrap-around drive through. Customers are treated to a game of frogger whilst trying to navigate into the shop. What's worse is its located on the corner of Pauahi and Kilauea. There is a traffic light there. Some people (assholes) use Just Cruisin to bypass the light. Ive almost been hit a few times in the mornings with impatient drivers flying it through like its part of the main road. The service. Its good. Never had any problems there. If they are busy it may be a bit of a wait. They are good to dogs as well. I have a sausage dog and he, like most dogs, likes to go riding. I bring him along from time to time and go through the drive thru. He gets free treats just for being a dog which i find pleasantly quaint.

I love their Frappe's and Sandwiches. As for their baked goods, that SUCKS! It's the pre-made kind from Costco....eeewww! Service is ok.

  • C. K.

I love their chicken w/ macadamia nut & pesto sandwich.

Stopped by this drive-through coffee stand, in the pouring-down rain, for a latte and they did a great job, and it cost a couple of bucks less than the place we'd been going to during our visit. Don't know if they mischarged us, though we questioned it, but we'll take it!

  • Sara H.

I'd stop here every day before work while I was in Hilo. Speedy service, friendly staff and a drive through - can't be beat! A little on the pricey side but not TOO much more than Starbucks. The food is also killer. highly recommend the chicken pesto sandwich and the breakfast sandwich with bacon. yum!

Best milkshakes in Hilo! I get chocolate/strawberry for an experience that tastes like chocolate dipped strawberries :)

  • Ama M.

My favorite coffee shop. Their prices are similar to the starbucks, but so are the flavors. In my opinion, why wouldn't you support the spectacular LOCAL coffee shop rather than the mega-corp starbucks? They are the same price, and both have drive-thrus, what's to miss? When I used to go to Starbucks, I have had huge chunks of ice in my Frappuccinos, on several occasions, but that has never happened with my Frappe at Cruisin' Coffee. Cruisin' Coffee also lets you get low-fat ice cream with your Frappe :) I often get the vanilla latte with skim milk, and it is consistently wonderful. The only food I have ever gotten from this coffee shop was the bagel with cream cheese, and it was good. But I, unfortunately, have no idea about their sandwiches, as I have never had one. As far as coffee goes, though, Just Cruisin' Coffee is wonderful.

When it comes to getting a good frappe, coffee or smoothie drink in Hilo you'll be hard pressed to find a better place than Just Cruisin Coffee. I know what most people will be thinking, "what about S-bucks?" Well if you like waiting in long lines inside and at the drive through then maybe. That coffee shop is good and popular, but it's good to have variety in life, right? For me I like driving straight up to the drive through window getting my drink without the long wait. Even if you walk in the service is fast. It's a little shop at the corner of Kilauea Ave and Aupuni St., right across from my favorite Okazu store: Kawamoto's! So you can get your lunch box and walk across the street and get a delicious drink! But that's not the reason why you should try Just Cruisin Coffee. You should try it because they use fresh Kona coffee, which makes a world of difference in flavor! They have all of the coffee drinks that the bigger coffee shops have, at a little cheaper price. They also make a wide variety of smoothies, tea drinks, and they serve fresh deli style sandwiches. The coffee drinks: 5 stars Smoothies: 4 stars Sandwiches: 4 stars Service: 4 stars Give Just Cruisin Coffee a try, you won't be disappointed!

Foods alright but the girls that work here ALL have attitude problems!!! Every single time I go here they never say thank u or when I say thanks they never respond. When I leave a tip,...silence. Like WTF is w the attitude?! U work at a smoothie shop! Drop the "Im better than u" bullshit!! Not to mention every time I go I say NO ONIONS IN MY WRAP AND EVERY SINGLE TIME I DRIVE AWAY GUESS WHAT? YUP ONIONS ALL OVER MY WRAP!!!! WTF?!! U can't even do that right so drop the attitude!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sarah M.

If your looking for an awesome frappe try the mocha frap at just cruising!!! It's awesome!!! And the baristas are extremely nice and always knows my order!!!

  • Jeff W.

Was there twice...first day (Tuesday) was great....Wednesday not so much. I know Big Island is a bit more laid back....but not sure I'm totally comfortable with the dress code being quite so laid back? Not completely comfortable with people with feet almost bare feet and serious ass crack hanging out of your spandex pants. Was almost tempted to walk out. Yuck. Will not be going back.

    (2)
  • Kanoe I.

Iced Latte.. Pretty strong flavor Mango Italian Soda.. Tastes like an orange cream starburst (They have 40 different flavors to choose from) Strawberry Smoothie.. Very tart! Taste exactly like frozen strawberries. I would of liked it if they added more juice inside.

  • Kayla L.

I absolutely love this place. We go here all the time, it really depends on who makes your order each girl has a different talent I have learned. I completely forgot the girls name but we always request that she makes our frapps. I have had a few girls make mine really gross but that never turned us away its to good when its good. Much better than Starbucks ANY DAY! The girls are very sweet an although I am a little concerned about the outfits that they wear, in my opinion they need to have at least a uniform tank top. I don't like seeing boobs or butt in the place that I order food. I can see why it might be a tip teaser or perhaps encourage more prospective male customers but it would be nice to see a bit more coverage in the upstairs. Aside from dress code being a little scary the food drinks and service is amazing and I will be a loyal customer for life. :) PSST: Since you have so many 'attractive women' maybe throw in a guys night on Fridays for us women who wanna see some lookers to eh!!!! #justkidding

Come for the coffee and views, the girls are friendly the landscape of hilo and Mauna Kea are awesome. Super tastes food and lattes. I try the mint mocha or just the house blend drip coffee. Plus they give a military discount. 10% off. Sweet deal!

  • Joseph S.

this place just plain sucks. No working WIFI and too much sugar in all the drinks! And the girls there seem to know what they are doing but they dont! And the owner is a womanizer.

  • Marty P.

This place has a great chicken macnut salad. I love to go in on sunny days for a fresh and healthy lunch. My only objection is that they have young adolescent girls working there with some horrible, self absorbed demeanor. Like we should be honored to be served by them. They lose track of who ordered what, and forgot to charge me correctly at least on two visits. For the love of rice- add one more item to the lunch menu so we can bring friends who don't like chicken.

    (3)
  • Jenny K.

I'm in love with their toasted bagels with cream cheese! It goes well with their hot lattes. Their mocha frappe's are the best I've tasted (very creamy and just the right amount of sweetness). Service was pleasant and quick ! Highly recommend this place.

Excellent cheap sandwiches!! Was in Hilo for 8 days and I had my brunch sandwich here 3 times during my stay. They have a decent variety to pick from. Girls are friendly and quick with the order. I only took off a star for my 3rd visit. A new girl charged me extra for the an ingredient that was a part of the sandwich and even after I showed her it's in the menu she said "I ll give it to you if you want but we usually charge for it". That was wrong and pretty rude as compared to the Hilo hospitality. Still 4 stars for the food. My recommendation - veggie sandwich, wraps & chicken salad sandwich

Breakfast sandwiches are awesome! Peanut butter milkshake was awesome! Iced cappuccino was awesome! I cannot say awesome enough times! My friend lives right around the corner and goes here several times a week. I am just visiting but it is freakin delicious. The employees were very nice as well :)

    (5)
  • Craig T.

Cappuccino (hot) was excellent and as a small drink it was a very good value for the money. The staff were attentive and went out into the growing line to get orders started before people got to the register. They also juggled the drive through well, keeping the cars moving. My wife rated her iced chai latte as "very good" and I enjoyed my egg sandwich (available all day) a lot. Prices were on the cheap side for Hilo and food quality was great. All in all a good bet for a nice coffee / chai (better than all the others that we've had here) and a sandwich.

  • Brandon R.

My vote for Hilo's best coffee! The staff is eager, after a few trips some remember exactly what u are going to order which makes it easy and painless but service at time may be a bit long because of its popularity during busier times but the quality is never sacrificed! The breakfast sandwiches are a must, croissants are on the top of my list followed by the jalapeño cheese bagels! Different breakfast meats to choose from with a fresh island egg and choice for cheese to set the day right, But there is no shortage of choices as far as drinks go! Locally owned and operated I choose this place over any corporate chain coffee house any day! Give them a try and like me u will agree..... Best coffee in Hilo!

  • David L.

Enough already....after several years of inconsistent service and shitty coffee, we're done! It's Surf Break for us, from now on.....they Rock!

  • Rose P.

This is the best spot for bagels and bagel sandies on the east side. They use kraft singles I think for the avocado bacon breakfast bagel, but it's all good if that's what keeps it reasonably priced. There's lots of parking and they open really early. The service is pretty junk usually. One time I went they served my friend her bagel, and never served mine, had to go ask for it, then they made it. Another time I called in a pickup takeout order of a bagel sandwich, and when I arrived they had forgotten to make it and so had to wait for it to be made. There have been a few other times when the service was alright. But! They do make delicious bagel sandwiches, so I'll be back!

  • Brookie C.

Just Cruisin Coffee is THE spot for the best milkshakes, smoothies, and coffee in town! Plus their sandwiches are to die for! I personally tried the Chicken Mac Nut Pesto sandwich and I fell in love. I also tried the banana smoothie which is awesome too. I highly recommend this little eatery to anyone wanting a delicious bite of quality ingredients & authentic drinks

Ultimately the best coffee in hilo. Nothing beats drive thru coffee , breakfast lunch etc. Service is Always great!!! My favorite sandwich that I recommend everyone should try is the Macnut pesto chicken sandwich... One of the most unique delectable sandwiches I've ever had!!!!

Delicious breakfast sandwiches and pretty fast service - especially considering how many customers they have! Great job!

  • Renna S.

Good service and a chill vibe. Drive up and check out their coffee or Italian sodas... They are made to order and are generally a fantastic pick me up. I make it a point to come here when I'm heading toward downtown Hilo.

  • Leina'ala O.

Charming little establishment. Friendly, attentive, attractive young ladies preparing the food and drinks. Very well put together staff. The chicken pesto macadamia nut sandwich is mind blowing. The flavors and textures make a great union. You may have to wait a little longer than some drive thrus but its worth it. This is no chain so everything is one of a kind. great eats and kid friendly.

  • Diana D.

Ordered the jalapeño bagel, as a New Yorker I was impressed with the freshness and quality. It wasn't clear at first but there is a drive through on each side, AND a place inside to order/eat.

  • J.D H.

When on the island - I always come here to get my coffee fix ! Love the espresso, Latte, cappuccino and any way their coffees are brewed. The food is equally as delicious !

    (5)
  • Ariana T.

They make the best iced chai latte I've ever had. They have some kind of special magic they imbue it with. I can't explain it. My guess is a home-made chai recipe. They make really great breakfast sandwiches here under $5 that are usually an egg, cheese, meat choice on a bagel or a croissant. It has a drive through and a lot of parking. Totally worth stopping by and trying them out.

    (5)
  • Cj M.

I love how the workers can take your order, and pretty much have the whole thing memorized. I wish I could do even half of that. They also have the best smoothies and milkshakes I've tried anywhere in Hilo. I would highly recommend their Pesto Chicken sandwich. Careful though, it has peanuts for you people who have that allergy.

    (5)
  • Mister M.

A great place to pick up some grinds and some energy and then hit the swell. Quick and delicious and just about the only place in Hawaii that has cold brewed tidy coffee available!!!

  • Jennifer O.

Dare I declare?: One of the few legit places here in Hilo. Drinks are great! Chai is perfect; dirty chai is perfect+ !! Is there such a thing? Uh.. here, there is!! Espresso is smooth. Their blended drinks, their hot drinks, drinks on ice, smoothies and sandwiches.. We haven't had anything bad from here yet!! We, too, are from the Pacific Northwest, where there's no end to Coffee and Tea shops, and baristas are more inventive artists than anything/anywhere else. Just Cruisin would definitely be successful in the great PNW, and I don't understand how people roll up to SB with the cigarette-butt coffee, down the street.. Maybe if you're weening off from a severe nicotine addiction!! What is wrong people?! Most of the baristas here are very knowledgeable, and that chicken pesto Sammy is ridiculously nommerific. Haven't met the owner, but kudos kudos kudos. Really, just delicious!!! Just go already!!!!

  • Samantha G.

This place is great! Great drinks and fantastic customer service! We live Kona side but this is the only place we get coffee in Hilo! They will make any drink you want and give great suggestions if you're not sure what you want!

  • Theresa D.

Very good iced chai latte and chicken MacNut pesto chicken sandwich. Can't wait to try other things here!

  • CalaMari A.

Drive up to the window on either side of the building to place your order. Yummy Italian sodas. The only place I know that does it in hilo (I used to get it from kope kope but they're no longer in business). i love the blueberry flavor and they top it off with a generous dollop of whipped cream. Their coffees are also good, and their chicken Mac nut pesto sandwich is pretty ono too.

  • Ashley G.

Wow! Coffee or any other caffeineated beverage anyway you want it!!!! My friends & I have never been disappoint when picking up a drink here!! They have food opinions which I have not tried but the owner often gives you food samples which have always been good!

  • Allison H.

This place is a really small little breakfast area with a drive through. The service was ok, but they forgot the creamer in my husbands coffee. I had the everything bagel with egg, swiss, and turkey. It was good but the bagel was a little dry. My husband had the asiago cheese bagel with egg, american cheese, and sausage and he really enjoyed it. The cafe au lait was good as well.

    (3)
  • Briana P.

This was such a cute place and the prices were right. They have really good coffee drinks and the food is good as well. This is a great place to stop in before a busy day of adventures. The best thing is that it's a drive-thru and the service is quick!

  • Emma P.

Coffee, milkshakes, and smoothies, without ever getting out of your rental car? Vacationing indulgence, oh yeah. If one of these ever popped up in Honolulu, I would die. Not of excitement, mind (although it would be exciting), but massive daily caloric overdose.

    (5)
  • Sherry O.

Love their fraps better than Starbucks. Their smoothies are awesome. Breakfast sandwiches are a must!

    (5)
  • David I.

Went through the drive thru this morning. First time for me and ordered a breakfast croissant and coffee. When I got back to my office and opened the foiled sandwich, it was burnt. I mean really burnt black. Don't they realize that once something is burnt the whole sandwich will taste burnt. I guess they were too cheap to replace the croissant. I'll never go back there and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Really disappointed that they would serve something that is burnt and not say anything.

My favorite take out breakfast sandwich in Hilo. The coffee is great - tons of flavors to try! The staff are super friendly.

My daughter loves everything here. We went by about 815PM to get milkshakes not knowing they closed at 8 :( The lady was very gracious and took our order and made it. This made us customers for good! Good food, good beverages, stellar service!!!

Great place for a coffee or milkshake. They have so much variety. I really like the iced mocha with whip cream for a big treat. It's hard to get anything else for me. The banana milkshake is also yummy. The sandwiches and wraps are also very tasty. Great place!

  • Autumn H.

We found this place through Yelp while we were on vacation in Hilo and needed to find a place that opened before 8am (or sadly, hadn't shut down.) We went here for breakfast the rest of our stay. The croissant breakfast sandwiches were great. Yummy, flaky croissants and gooey cheese. Loved the mocha frappes with real whipped cream. (Definitely more on the coffee than chocolate side, but I still liked it even though I'm not a coffee drinker.) Staff was friendly, there was a bit of a wait sometimes since they always had drive through customers, but nothing unacceptable. I'd rather wait a little for a local business than some multi-national chain. The drinks we got were a little pricier than those chains, but again, local makes it worth it. We'd definitely go here again if we're ever in Hilo.

Love it here. Best milkshake and frappes in town.

  • Mike B.

Best coffee I had on most recent trip to Hawaii. That's all I had here. But that's saying a lot. Got a large the first time around, and the other people in my car kept passing it around sipping it and wouldn't stop saying how good it was: they made me go back!

    (5)
  • Dods L.

They make their own chocolate, so that's worth something, but other than that, I'm not sure what to praise about "Just Cruisin". We ordered 3 coffees, all of which were burned and served "burn your face off" temperature hot, the coffee itself was not particularly flavorful, the barista was a little mean (I get it, he was behind with a line growing), and the space itself is TINY. No place to sit, just a box serving mediocre coffee. A reasonable place to stop and get coffee, but nothing to write home about.
