Went here a few weeks ago for a lunch meeting. Very nice place with a lot of space. An open kitchen along the back wall to watch the pizzas being made. I ordered just a regular cheese pizza which was delicious. I had them put fresh mozzarella cheese on it and it was the right call. I'll definitely be back.

We came here for the first time about 6 months ago and it was great. Since our first experience, we've been two more times with last time being pretty bad and tonight being the worst experience yet. This place has just continued to go downhill. The food seems to be really falling off big time here. Something's just not right. It was great the first time we came. Since then it's been mediocre at best. This time it was just not good. It seems that they have just stopped caring. We ordered 2 appetizers for the table. One came out in about 15 minutes... Which was the miniature portion of calamari which consisted of mostly fried peppers and very little calamari to speak of. The other appetizer, the spinach dip, didn't come out for about 45 minutes, well after the other one was gone. When we asked about it, the server seemed surprised that we never got it... But if she had been paying any attention to our table whatsoever she would've realized. Once we finally received the dip, it was quite bland and really needed salt & pepper or something. The first time we came here it was amazing..and a much bigger portion. So this was a huge disappointment. My "Salt & Pepper" fries didn't have an ounce of salt or pepper or any seasoning for that matter on them. They were plain ol' skinny fries, the equivalent of Burger King fries. When I asked the server about them and why they weren't as described on the menu, the sever seemed annoyed that I even asked and reluctantly brought me a thing of salt & pepper that I could sprinkle on my fries myself. Not the same. My burger was mediocre at best. Came with tomato when requested none. It didn't seem to have any of the truffle sauce at all that the menu claimed it came with either. The bun it was served on was not the greatest selection in my opinion, it was not the right flavor and was too big for burger. The pizza was not good. Dough was good but was undercooked and the ingredients they used really seemed to lack quality. We had 3 pizzas and they all were bland and undercooked. The one good thing was the Vidalia onion soup but it didn't blow me away. The service was just awful. Some of the least attentive I've ever had. Our entire party of 8 sat with empty glasses for almost the whole 2 hours we stayed. It felt almost as if we were invisible since the server almost never checked on us. Other tables were getting their food and drinks and we had nothing. I honestly don't know how they turn any tables in this place with such slow service. Never saw any manager walking around talking to tables & chatting with customers. Nothing. I could've dealt with mediocre food but the service just killed it for me. The server finally came around to refill drinks and one person asked for a water instead of another beer and was brought a beer that he didn't ask for. Even after we made the waitress aware of this she still put it on the bill even though we didn't order it. This place seems to need better management (or any kind of management.. Have never seen a glimpse of any), servers who actually care about what they're doing, and a chef who cares about the quality of food that's going out of their kitchen. This was a huge disappointment to me personally as I talked this place up to the people we came with (hoping that our last visit was just a fluke) just to have a horrible experience. I can't say I won't return, because I'm sure I'll have to meet friends or family here one day in the future simply due to its location, but I also can't say that I would ever choose to return here. I hope this place gets it's act together, I really do. Because it has tons of potential and it is visually the one of the best looking places in Woodstock. PS - I do love the fact that they are pretty much the only restaurant on Main St that takes reservations. But still, the bad heavily outweighs the good for me.

The four of us wanted a good, traditional pizza. Who can resist a wood fired one? Well, not us. So this was an obvious choice for the Saturday evening out. Cozy atmosphere and open fire wood burning pizza ovens luring you in!!! A quick look at the menu and we concluded that the Italians would rotate in their graves if they saw the toppings on these pizzas. A "Greek" pizza (explain that Luigi!!), figs, avocado (no es Italian baby), pork belly smothered in brown sugar (no kidding) etc. What happened to the tried and tested pizza toppings that have survived for centuries? Not fancy enough? Well, we settled for the least weird and sent the waiter off. A good half hour later we were served 4 pizzas. How experts at wood fired pizzas managed to burn all 4 of them and 2 of them to the point where they were inedible is beyond us. Maybe they will get to the point of expertise at some stage where they understand that just turning the pizzas half way through prevents one side to burn to a carcinogen state!!! But that is really advanced cooking of course!!! The waiter was nowhere to be seen so we carried the charcoal up to the pizza makers and asked for 2 new ones! A few minutes later the waiter turned up at the table and we told him. Not his fault of course. But the attitude!!! He began to lecture us on how wood fired pizza ovens could cause some charring etc etc. No excuses, no empathy, just crap. To add insult to injury, the waiter showed up 5 minute later telling us that they (!!!) had decided to bake the new pizzas in the regular oven to prevent them from burning!!!! WTF??? We declined and asked for 2 pizzas out of the wood fired ovens and instructed the waiter to tell the "chefs" that maybe they should just turn the pizzas half way through!!! You really feel bad when you have to tell the "experts" how to do their job, but hey!!! We are just ordinary folks out for a good pizza!!!! The waiter showed up with the beer we had ordered and we asked if this was on the house as a courtesy for the 2 burned pizzas? The response was that he was not authorized to do that. to which we responded / suggested that maybe his manager was??? He walked off laughing his annoying, nervous laugh leaving us wondering what we had done to deserve this treatment!!! So eventually the 2 replacements showed up. And guess what? The "experts" didn´t want any more trouble from the "problem table", so they had hauled the pizzas out of the wood fired ovens before they were cooked!! We decided to eat the pizzas and not expect too much from "the experts". We got the bill and decided to go to the pizza counter to ask the manager if there was anything he could do? Again, no excuses, just the offer to take a few drinks of the bill "if we would like"?? We most certainly would!!! No excuses, no empathy, no nothing!!! So, can you with any justification expect that these guys can make a pizza in their wood fired ovens? We think you can! Can you expect that when mistakes happen, they at least acknowledge this? We think yes! Can you expect a bad attitude and a service which sucks? We think not!! Make you own decision. We are not coming back!!

Tonight's meal was to celebrate my wife's birthday. The meal was very good food. The customer service was marginal at best. Pictures is hummus which is a staple of ours. Very very good

The wood fired pizza is yummy. Try the chicken sausage one. It is big enough to share. The hummus is to die for. You get a HUGE amount of hummus with pita and veggies. The have daily specials including $10 pizzas on Monday. Half off wine bottles on Wednesday. The drink menu has something for everyone. Many craft beers and other drink specials. The patio is great in the fall and spring. A very large fireplace warms you in the wintertime. I checked in with Yelp when I was here and received a free dessert. Yippee!!!!

This is a really cool place in downtown Woodstock that I wish I remembered to go to more often. It's a little more upscale, but still pretty casual and has a lot of great items to offer. I recommend the bruschetta and the pizza. They have seasonal menus that are fun to check out and many different drinks. There is outdoor seating with fire places outside which really adds a nice atmosphere to this restaurant.

First couple times we came here, we loved it...but the last two times have pretty much guaranteed we won't be back. Service was ABYSMAL, the food was just so-so, and the last time we went we sat outside and A) the first chair they sat me in was missing a slat out of the seat and the table was so wobbly you couldn't even put a drink on it; and B) there were flies EVERYWHERE. I know we were outside, and I don't know how much they could have done about the flies...but it was sort of a capper on a not-great experience. Good beer selection, but that's true of pretty much any place you go in downtown Woodstock. Best thing here is the pizza...that is actually really good. I may get one to go in the future...but for a night out, there are just so many better options in the area that I don't see us coming back here anytime soon.

I really can't say much about this place. The staff is slow and the pizza although supposedly gourmet, is not that awesome, actually not even mediocre, especially after the prices. Kids menu needs to be jazzed up a bit as well. I know this is a pizza joint but kids need more options on there menu other than fried chicken fingers, mac and cheese and pizza. Can we get just one healthy option on there? Doesn't really matter I guess because we will not be back.

The peppercorn chicken was phenomenal! The chicken was tender with a wonderful "brown gravy" with delicately cooked onions and mushrooms. The richness of the food made each bite savory. The crispy red potatoes were amazing. The portion size was large. My husband had a perfectly cooked burger with fries. It was a juicy burger with perfectly seasoned fries. Usually get their pesto pizza and house salad which are always good. Tonight was my favorite!

Delicious and quick! Service is fast as well. Also they have a large selection of cocktails. Super yummy and fairly priced for the size they are.

Ended up here after our failed attempt to eat at Big Pie in the Sky... It was a Saturday night so it was pretty crowded and the wait for a table was around 30-40 minutes, it went by faster than we expected... We were taken to our table and our waiter introduced himself, he was really nice, made us feel comfortable and answered our questions about the menu. We ordered the spinach and artichoke bake as an appetizer and my goodness it was amazing! I ended up ordering the fig pizza, I must say I'm a bit disappointed, it had no seasoning at all, little to almost no toppings and the dough was really hard and tasteless. My only "complaint" is that it was SO LOUD in there, we could barely hear each other sitting in the same small table.

  • Julie S.

Service was extremely slow. We waited at least 10 minutes for our drink order to be taken. The outdoor area is beautiful and live band was a great distraction. The wedge salad, although delicious, was skimpy and overpriced. The BBQ pizza was subpar and lacked toppings. Overall, beautiful building with overpriced, underwhelming food. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

First off....Andrew was the best server ever! The white sangria is.over the top. Smoked wings and hanger steak lettuce wraps were good. Got.a great pizza tonight. Gluten free crust, pepperoni, sausage and chicken sausage. It was the best. Live music outside, football on the TV.

We had a great time here! The food is excellent. I had the fig pizza, which sounds questionable, but it was really good. It had figs and blue cheese and crispy Italian bacon on it. It was interesting and delicious. We also had the calamari pimiento as an appetizer -- the fried peppers were a beat twist! The bar looked great and they offered a marshmallow martini! I would have tried that but I was dining with my pregnant friend so I had to show solidarity. :-) I would've rated five stars, but the service was a little bit indifferent and slow That's the only thing that I would improve to make it better. Otherwise, a very good experience!

The venue is really pretty, with a really nice patio and wide open dining area with great smells emanating throughout. We also received great service. The pizza was "meh". Did you know that over 252 million pounds of pizza is consumed ever year? Fire Stone pizza will probably get lost in the mix of all the other pizza that is consumed. There was nothing really that made me think YUM or WOW. The veggie pizza though OK, was lacking a bit of flavor and was a bit dry. I almost feeel like the veggies could have been seasoned a bit more too. I also tried the homemade chicken sausage pizza. This one was pretty good. Though still nothing to write home about. The Oreo cheesecake was weird. It was like they took a cheesecake and mixed it with yellow cake resulting in the strange texture and taste. It wasn't horrible just weird. It was a bit disappointing, especially when u want cheesecake, to get that. Overall this is a good place to go for dinner if ambiance is what you want. But if it's really really going pizza, I hear there's a really good place down the street.

Well I have given up on this place 7 visits over the past few years and only 1 was good. Service is spotty at best. Never consistent or friendly. Calamari isn't edible. Pesto pizza and fig pizza are still stand outs but prices have increased yet again. The amount of smoke that fills the dining area is overwhelming, the wait times are always long, too many great places in downtown Woodstock to keep overpaying for poor service and mediocre food. Too bad a really cool atmosphere and design with poor execution.

Great food. Service is so so. Would definitely go back. They were out of artichokes which is prominent on the menu, so that stank. Pizza was awesome.

We went to lunch around 12:30 today and were given dinner menus. When we asked our server about it, we were told it was easier for the kitchen to prep the same food all day on Saturdays and Sundays. This answer leads me to believe they don't get a good lunch crowd on the weekends. While the food was tasty and of good quality, we weren't really planning to spend $15 per person for lunch. I think this is why they aren't busy during weekend lunch. Most of the other restaurants in DT Woodstock were packed. We have dined here plenty over the years so we are familiar with the menu and price point. P.S. It was also very smoky in the restaurant today from the wood fired pizza oven.

Delicious pizza. Went on a Monday night where 5 pizza options were only $10. I had the tequila chicken- chicken, corn, pineapple, some sort of mango sauce. It was so good. All 10 of my party were very satisfied. I do wish they carried Reformation beer, as their brewery is only 5 minutes away. Their tripel would go perfect with this pizza.

3 dollar mimosas, great craft beer selection. Tremendous pizza, lamb and filet sliders very tasty too! Service has been excellent. Patio is spacious and sunny. Excellent experience

3 stars might be generous. Thin crust pizza should be crispy. Ours was soft and doughy. Salmon for $23 is getting towards fine dining prices yet service doesn't match that price. Asked how we wanted it cooked and we said medium. It came out rare. And the salmon just plain lacked flavor. This place used to be good but the value just isn't there anymore. Overall it's pricey for what you get in food and service

It was the worst experience I have had in a long time, the waitress did not know the offers of the day, and what was worst was neither did the manager, the food was small portions and not tasty, very disappointing

I don't go out to eat often and so it's disappointing when I do go out and the food isn't good. A group of friends and I settled on this place because everything else in Woodstock was full. It's a beautifully designed restaurant with an exhibition style kitchen, but that's where the positive aspect really ended for me. It's obvious that the restaurant is a little run down in places, and their attention to detail isn't the greatest, but what really disappointed me was the food. I ordered a turkey, bree and green apple sandwich with fries, and that's literally all the sandwich was. Some unseasoned, dry deli-sliced turkey, a small amount of bree and a few slice of green apple on pasty white bread with some grill marks on it. Both the sandwich and the fries tasted under-seasoned, maybe even unsalted. The sandwich was also room temperature like it had been sitting around for a while. At $11 I feel like it was two to three dollars over priced based on the craft and materials that went into it. The servers clearly weren't following seat numbers because they auctioned off the food, one of the orders were wrong and a salad never got delivered. One of my friends ordered a sandwich that was supposed to come with a tomato pesto, but was actually just a slice of a garden tomato. No one was particularly impressed with their food. I know splitting a check nine ways is a pain for a server and our checks were accurate and processed quickly, so credit where credit's do for that, but I won't be back.

Always very good! Learned about a list of apps that arent on the menu. The lettuce rolls were delcious! Drinks are always done right! The tables outside really need to be leveled. We always get a wobbly table. The live entertainment is a perfect touch!

We having been wanting to go for a walk in the downtown Woodstock area for a while. We heard it was a cute town to walk around in, it was. Stopped here for dinner. The outside seating area on a comfortable night was nice. Quiet enough to sit and talk. Three of us shared 2 pizzas, yes, they are a little on the small side, about 10 out 12 inches. We had the veggie and the fig. Both were good. For a wood oven, I would have thought the crust in the center would not have been as soft and floppy. The flavors on both pizzas were pretty good. This was the first time I have had fig pizza. It was pretty good but so not worth the $17 they charge for such a small pizza. Overall all, not bad not great and not worth the money. Service was ok, refilled water promptly when asked

Server was inattentive and seemed very distracted in his efforts. Food was about a 4 but the service was around the 2 area.

My family and I went for the first time yesterday, and overall, we found the food to be decent. We had the homemade italian sausage pizza, the tuna avocado mango stack, and the spaghetti squash. The only real critique in terms of food would be the not so generous portion of sausage per slice of pizza. The spaghetti squash's rattatouille was also a bit sour and could have been mixed a little better with the squash. My main critique is with the service, which was incredibly disappointing. Our server was curt with us for the most part and needed to be flagged down for everything. Everything felt hurried from our order to having the dishes arrive at the table. By the end of the meal, even with the check, our waitress seemed eager to rush us out. What really baffled me was the inefficient system of table management. Our waitress kept having to run back and forth from tables she was assigned inside and outside. As a result, service was slow and she seemed entirely overwhelmed. Our table also happened to have unstable legs, which caused our drinks to slide toward us. One of the hostesses was repairing a table next us, so we asked her what we could do about it. Instead of reseating us herself, she decided to tell us to tell the waitress instead. Meanwhile, the hostess continued to repair the table. This kind of dismissive response is not only rude but also a mark of poor training. As a hostess, especially one who is actually repairing another table with a similar problem, should not have an issue reseating guests who clearly cannot even keep items on the tabletop because of the sliding. Her lack of professionality and inability to even apologize for the inconvenience is entirely unacceptable behavior.

I have eaten at Firestone a number of times, and while I definitely understand some of the reviews in regards to poor service, they have clearly made every effort to greatly improve the guest experience. My last visit was exceptional! It was a very busy Friday night with a packed house, yet the service was on point in every way. Our server was extremely polite, professional and very attentive. Especially for how busy he was. Hands down.. the best service I've ever had there. The food has always been great and seems they're always trying to improve an already good thing. We ordered 2 appetizers to start.. lamb sliders and the lump crab with avocado. Both were incredible! For dinner we had the chicken saltimbocca and the pesto pizza. I rarely like very thin crust pizzas because it's so easy to screw up, but this was perfect! Perfectly executed with a slight char, crispy thin crust. Bottom line.. If I keep heading in this direction with new quality wait staff, this will be THE go to place in Woodstock

My husband and I are always looking for some place new and this place meets the mark!!! Food was AWESOME!! We started with the calamari something we love and this was outstanding. We then had the Fire Stone Grande pizza. It was the bomb ingredients were fresh and the crust was thin and crisp. Plus tonight a wine special any thing that was sold by the glass the bottle was half price so our bill was $44. Awesome service. If you are in Woodstock you have stop by and have a bite.

Let me start off by saying I love this place and have been here at least 8 times but this is my first review. So good!!!!!!!! I have never never been disappointed with anything I have ordered or my fellow eating buddies have ordered. I usually start with the tomatoes mozerella balsamic glaze app which is so fresh and a very light app to share. I then get the margharita pizza with extra basil. I always get their pomegranate martini but two will put u over the limit. tonight I got the mushroom pizza and Ben my waiter suggested on pairing with the pinot noir and he got it spot on. The crust was so crispy and the mushrooms were so flavorful and the pinot noir was so light that it did not drown out the mushrooms strong yet delicate flavors. Because I checked in on yelp I got a free dessert and chose the creme brulee with fresh berries and mint sprig. Yum!!!!! Melts in your mouth and not to sweet like a lot of others I have had. Very kid friendly and the chef gave my son dough to play with. He ordered chicken fingers and they they didn't have honey mustard so they made some. Love this place. Great job on staying in business. I can tell why. Fine pizza dining with great atmosphere and great waiter named Ben.

Love the hummus here! And the drinks. If you can somehow get a seat outside when it's not horribly hot out it is a great place! I found that the service is a little slow, but it doesn't take away from how good the food is. I've never had a bad meal here. Even if you sit inside, it's still a great place to eat. We went there on their first day of opening and they really had their acts together. And I have been there numerous times since, so I am really happy the place has made it. The pizza is awesome there, and like I said the hummus is amazing. I could make a meal out of that alone!

Had a business dinner Wednesday night Lamb shank and pizza. Half prices wine was the best part. Small jazz band added to enjoyment although it was loud. Service was good. Very crowded but over all it was good.

Place was fairly empty on a Sat night around 6, so we decided to try it. Service was a little slow but not too bad, until we ordered. We ordered a pizza, hummus app and two side salads. We ended up getting the pizza but nothing else. The waitress apologized and said the rest would be out shortly and then we never saw her again. Eventually we talked to the manager and he was apologetic and comped the meal. The pizza we did get was actually pretty good, and we'd prob give this place another shot if were down that way again and hope it was an isolated incident. For now it ranks as one of the most screwed up service experiences I've had in a restaurant.

  • Tricia S.

The food was delicious...I'll start with that. The Parmesan and lemon French fries were tasty and the steak/Gorgonzola sandwich I ordered was very good! My husband described his chicken salad sandwich as "different" and couldn't really say it was great. I really loved the ambience. If it were warm enough I would have sat outside because it was such a nice day. There's a gorgeous fireplace outside which would have been fun to utilize, but it wasn't on. Inside, the brick walls and ovens really make the rustic decor. The first comment my husband actually made about this place was, "this is a neat-looking restaurant." I was disappointed that the salad I ordered on the side of my sandwich came so "lightly dressed" that I could hardly taste it at all. I may as well have been eating straight lettuce. I also didn't like the fact that substituting a gluten-free crust meant adding a $5 charge to the bill, which is close to a 50% increase in price for some of the pizzas. It's a shame for those who really need it like my mom, who is the reason we actually came here, because she has Celiac's. Also, she wanted mushroom and sausage pizza. When I asked if they could make it, I didn't think to ask, but the waitress didn't tell me it would cost $20 for an individual "custom" pizza when pizzas of the same size with more toppings were definitely cheaper. I tasted the pizza when I got home and it was a really good, which is hard to say for a lot of gluten-free crusts. If you do like (or must eat) gluten-free, you should try the flourless chocolate cake. Would I eat there again? Yes, if I had a coupon. It's way overpriced. Service was average.

Perfectly crispy artisan-style pizza. Smokey flavor blends the toppings while making the crust cracker crisp. Perfect for dinner before a Woodstock High School football game. Thanks, Yelp, for helping me find this! (And our server was excellent; the pizza took quite a while because she said it got stuck and they had to remake it, but it was worth the wait.)

Wow... How sad . This was a "go to" restaurant - a staple in our rotation. No more. We are done. Now they have resorted to HIDING their recent Health Department score. (82) Our pizzas were awful! The crust sucked. The flavor was bland. Very sad.

We ate there in March and absolutely loved the experience!! We went on a Wednesday when the bottles of wine were half price (BONUS!) Our server was super nice and efficient. We split a Caesar Salad...and I have to admit...as basic as a salad is, this was one of the best ever! The dressing was perfect!! We also split a Margharita Pizza and it was SO good. Sauce was tasty and perfectly portioned...crust was thin and held up to the sauce and cheese. Sure, it can't compete with pizza from the Northeast, but for the Atlanta area, it's one of the best hands down. All in all a great experience that I would recommend for anyone.

    (4)
  • Sam H.

First let me state that I thought the food was great. The Cesar salad was good, a little on the large size and the dressing was a little strong. I think if the size was 3/4 the size and you mixed in more grated cheese it would be wonderful. We had the fondu. it was great, I did really like the pesto that was on the baguet as well. Now on to the pizza, we ordered the chicken bacon ranch pizza. The pizza was cooked perfectly, it was a nice blend of onion, bacon, chicken, cilantro, and a ranch blend. The only thing I would have liked added to the chicken was more flavor and spice particularly just salt and pepper to make it pop. Over all it was a good experience and good food.

This place was one of our go to spots until the past year. Tonight was our 3rd visit in the past 6 months and it hasn't improved. The food is usually good but the service has gotten worse and worse lately. Slow servers are just the beginning. The owners really need to address this issue because there are many restaurants within walking distance that are much better overall.

  • S D.

Nice atmosphere, good service, good specialty drinks and wines, and very tasty thin and crispy wood fire pizzas. Nice outdoor patio area, so we'll go again in the warm weather. Updated on 5/13/2014: one caveat--all three times we've been here, they have been out of a specific beer or wine that we ordered.

  • Daniel K.

Delicious, unique pizzas at a reasonable price, friendly wait-staff, an extensive cocktail and wine selection, and a great location - what's not to love? Note that you can request two different halves with the specialty pizza! If you haven't tried cheese grits (obviously I'm a Yankee visiting), get their appetizer!

We were greeted with a smile and was at a table as soon as we walked into the dining room. For starters we had the Calamari and over Roasted Mussels. They were both good but the calamari was in need of salt badly (and remember to ask for salt and pepper here because it is not sitting on the table there, it's by request.) the mussels had a nice kick with the pepper but overall it was good. Hope your a fast eater due to the timing on the food, we were no where near done with our appetizers and the entrees came on out. Now the entrees were great! I really have no complaints other than a few critiques on my dish. We had the Pesto fig pizza and it was good especially with that balsamic reduction added on with the arugula. My dish was the Guinness Braised Short Ribs which were tender the critiques, the demi-glase needed more seasoning and the sweet potato mash that it came with was too sweet to be paired with a protein as rich as that one was. Like I said it was good and all the components were good just not adding up to one another. The service was 2 star at best, our waitress forgot the coffee and had a bit of an attitude. Overall if that would improve then I will defiantly be going back!

The food was about a 3. The service was like a one. Went here last Friday with my mom. My parents recently moved to Woodstock so I am having fun trying out some of the new places near them. It was lunch time and we were in the mood for something lighter. The pizzas looked quite tasty but we were trying to be good. She got the veggie plate. I ordered the portobello mushroom sandwich, but asked for no cheese and the mayo on the side. First, my dish. It came with both the cheese and the mayo slathered all over it. I kept waiting for the waitress who was helping us to come by so I could tell her, but she never once reappeared at our table. Not to asked us how everything was. Not to refill our drinks. Nothing. We had to ask another server for our check at the end of the meal. Despite my order being wrong, the dish was tasty. It comes with fries and a side salad....which is a very loose term for three pieces of mixed greens in a tasteless vinaigrette. The fries were cold and not crisp and lacked salt -- and there were no salt shakers on the table. As for mom, some of the stuff on her veggie plate was quite tasty, the carrots and leeks mostly. However, the aforementioned waitress boasted roasted tomatoes on the plate and there were zero, the quinoa was ice cold and the risotto was just mushy rice. I also think the price was a bit high for the food. I think my sandwich was 13 bucks. It was an 8 dollar value at best. My mom said her and my dad went back again the next day for dinner and had a great experience with great food. So maybe this was an isolated incident.

Very good atmosphere! It is a bit dark and loud but it is fun with a group of friends. It is a hopping place on a Friday or Saturday night! There appetizers are very good. Their crab cakes are some of the best I have had around here! The pizza is a little different from what I normally eat but I was pleasantly surprised. I will definitely be back!

The service was mediocre and it was hard to get refills, place our orders, and get our check. The interior was freezing and as I'm hot-matured and it's got to be extremely cold to get my attention. We started with Caesar Salad and Chicken Tortilla Soup. While the salad was excellent, my soup was tepid. Another contrast was that the salad was normal sized but the soup was very small. Had the soup not been cold, it would have had a great flavor. We had pizzas for our entrees and I had the Huntsman while my wife and daughter shared the Pesto with an additional topping of grilled chicken. The flavor was good, but the crust was floppy and very much like a whole-grain pita. The outdoor seating looked nice, but was monopolized by smokers. As we were leaving a band was setting up for live music. The walk back to our car was about half-a-mile due to this location's limited parking options which is further exacerbated by the area's popularity.

This restaurant is okay and does fill a need in downtown Woodstock. That being said it's not great. Prices are higher than what I feel they should be in relation to portion size. The appetizers are the most over priced I've ever seen. We tried 3 of the pizza offerings and they were good but seriously lacked toppings. Some of the people in our group complained that their pizza was too spicy. I had been meaning to try this place for a while and I'm glad I did. However I do not plan on going back. I much prefer Ipps just up the road.

We have eaten here 3 times in 4 weeks. The food is awesome! The staff is great and you have to sit at the pizza prep bar for the best experience! Just leave me a spot please!

Awesome food, great ambiance but slow service. 3.5 stars. We had the Huntsman pizza with the Hummus appetizer. The pizza was crisp and the center was not soggy. The sauce had a good flavor and was balanced. The Hummus appetizer was much larger then expected with numerous veggies and seasoned pizza crust flat bread. Wednesday they have half priced wine which they will re-cork. We sat outside with ample umbrellas to shade us from the sun. They had live music which added to the ambiance. Our server was friendly and helpful and initially spot on but would disappear for long periods. I think they are understaffed. I spotted our server inside handling tables in addition to the outside patio area. Once this place gets busy, service slows dramatically. I will be back for the food and I hope that the management gets their act together.

Love the atmosphere, great food, prices, and service. This is a very nice place to go for a meal and their menu is varied enough to offer food other than pizza. I think I'm going to invite my friend to lunch next week and come here.

Can we just be blunt here? The service stunk. Today, after being seated, we waited and waited but no server approached us. It wasn't busy. There was no excuse for this. The hostess spotted that we hadn't been approached and asked to fill our drink order. She returned with our drinks and still the server had not approached us yet. (The server's name is Ashley.) We waited further and I finally began a countdown. We were prepared to leave if the server didn't arrive within the next 2 minutes. When she did, she greeted us by asking "Are you the group wanting to order lunch?" She didn't introduce herself or attempt to make a menu selection. I am always tempted to call the manager over and ask him: "Give me a good reason why I should tip this server?" As you'd expect, the wait for our meals was also ridiculously too long. When the food arrived, one of my guests asked for mustard. The server responded, "We only have Dijon mustard" in a tone that clearly inferred "You don't want it, right?" Why didn't she simply and happily say "We have Dijon mustard. Let me get it for you." And let me point out . . . she never brought the mustard. Our drinks ran out before our meal ended. The server offered refills in to-go cups, but didn't return with the drinks until she was reminded that we were still waiting for them. Lastly, the place was a pig-sty. Take a walk from the main dining room to the restrooms. Look to your left at the storage area. Look to the right into the kitchen entry-way. And then, look at the rest room. Absolutely no excuse for this. I had been a big fan of Firestone, but today's experience reflects management neglect and a return visit is not on my agenda.

Had the pesto pizza - it was to die for! Crust was perfectly crispy, just the right amount of toppings, and the cool arugula and balsamic reduction on top added a perfect texture. Service was decent, but it was a slow lunch. I got one refill on my soda, never was asked for another, and never asked if we wanted water refilled, or if my friend wanted another drink. But I'd give service a 3, he was friendly, just not as attentive as I would expect during a slow lunch. I will definitely be back for the delicious food!

Food was awesome. I had the chicken sausage pizza, my dad got the margarita pizza, and my brother got the BBQ (BBQ was def the best!) The service was just ok. We waited a while just to get our drinks (and we only ordered water). We asked for bread, the waitress said she could bring us some pita bread, and it never came. I'd recommend going if you're not in a hurry to catch a movie. The atmosphere is great and is a perfect place to spend an evening talking - I'm sure the outdoor seating is awesome when the weather permits! Overall I give it a solid 3.

I am not sure why the reviews aren't better. I like this place. I always sit at the bar. I like wood fire Neapolitan pizza and they also have a gluten free crust if that's your thing. The toppings are fresh and the salads are good, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. So, I can easily recommend.

This place was highly recommended by one of my coworkers. Within the past few weeks my husband and I was extremely excited to try it out. Today we went with our two kids and friend's son. When we walked in there was no one at the host stand. After waiting a few minutes a man opened the door for some guests behind us then welcomed them by saying, "thank you for joining us," but never greeted us. As he looked at me, I volunteered to share how many people were in our party. He then asked if I needed 2 high chairs or 1 and I told him one. He escorted us to our table which was on the wall isolated from everyone else in the facility. I couldn't understand why we were sat there especially when there were several tables in the restaurant that was unoccupied. After seeing the chairs I told him I didn't need the high hair since my child would be ok without it but he ignored it. My husband by now was pretty frustrated because he felt as though I was being dismissed. He asked did you hear her and even then he didn't want to answer then he said "oh what!" Then he told the young lady sarcastically they don't need it and rolled his eyes. At this point I wanted to leave but because the kids were excited we stayed. The food was ok. The lamb sliders were delicious and the pizza was good, however I think the pizzas at Taste of Italy on Highway 92 is better. After eating my husband shared his dissatisfaction and I realized we felt the same way. My husband and I enjoy trying new restaurants but this is by far the most uninvited restaurant we've ever been to. When we left he never even thanked us for dining with them but I did catch him walking over to see how we left the table. I will not attempt to speculate why this man was the way he was but we will never dine there again nor will we recommend it. We were not pleased with the service. When someone dines somewhere they should feel welcomed and that was not the case. Disappointed

Every time we come here it's an enjoyable experience. Lunch menu is decently priced and dinner entrees are awesome! Staff is very knowledgable about the menu, managers are attentive. Half price wine Wednesday's are the best.

Solid three stars for the Fire Stone Pizza! Good lord this place was busy on a Fri night. The outdoor seating looked very nice but it was a bit too hot. Our group was seated in the back room by the beer / wine storage area, so there was always a server walking by...no big deal. We started with the Calamari and ordered two of them since we were informed the plates were 'small' , plus an order of marinated olives. The Calamari was a bit soggy but the olives were good although the order came with more pickled garlic cloves than olives. Crunchy and garlicky goodness if you want to smell. I ordered a split pizza...BBQ chicken (hold the damn corn) and 'House made' sausage and peppers. Order came out quick but was wrong (damn corn)...sent it back and got a new(?) pizza in about 4 minutes. BBQ side was pretty good but the sausage side was surprisingly bland. They have Pesto pizza w arugula was very good, crusty and charred crust. All in all a good meal and would return.

Food is pretty good. Nice range of options from $13 pizza to $33 filet! They used to change the menu weekly which was exciting but I think the settled on a permanent one. I like going with friends or groups of people. The fire & patio outside are awesome at night although the tables are unsturdy (not good if you have kids or too much wine). Some of the staff is awesome, others are either very unexperienced or they just suck but most of the girls are pretty good. The creme brûlée is the best!!! If you're going on the weekend, good luck with parking! Also there is this guy that lurks around to take your empty plates, which is cool but I feel like he's constantly watching me :/

The service is so good here and so friendly. The decor is amazing, and yes, this place is pretty pricey. I ordered the lamb lollipops which were cooked nice and rare, but the risotto was undercooked. Nobody likes crunchy rice in their risotto. Small portions for a big price and the beer is pricey to. My friend paid $5 for an O'Douls. I will give it another shot because I enjoyed the service and the lamb. Good place to bring a date. I need to try the pizza too.

I completely agree with Allan L.'s service report. I hope that he doesn't mind my copying his intro since I suffered the same experience. "Can we just be blunt here? The service stunk. [Amen to that!] Today, after being seated, we waited and waited but no server approached us. It wasn't busy. There was no excuse for this. The hostess spotted that we hadn't been approached and asked to fill our drink order. She returned with our drinks and still the server had not approached us yet." 2 or 3 servers had just passed me by or failed to return after saying they'd be "right back". And they only had about 8 people to serve on the patio! Finally, a young man approached me and offered me his services. Thank goodness, for I was about to go find the manager and explode on him. The lamb cherizo pizza was quite good, about a 4 and the kind server kept my iced tea glass full. BTW, I decided to eat on the patio because it was unbelievably cold inside. They seriously need to do something about their servers' attitude toward customers. I did notice that some of the servers fawned over friends and members of the opposite sex, but that didn't help me.

This is one of my favorite places in downtown Woodstock. Great cocktails, great patio, and great service. I enjoy the BBQ pizza, harvest salad and calamari, and my husband always gets the rib eye. One of the new items on the menu I just tried were the scallops with gouda grits. It was delicious! Make sure you have a reservation on Friday and Saturday or you'll definitely be waiting over an hour.

I can't give this place 5 stars because I've never dined in and so I'm not sure of the service however I have ordered pizza to go twice and it was amazing! The best pizza I've had in a very long time! It was the Mayan and was just amazing! I will say it was slightly better the first time so consistency could use a little work. Hope to go here soon and dine in.

Not a great first visit to Fire Stone. First, the doors were open, fans were blowing and the sun was setting. The wind chill in there was pretty brutal! I went to the car to get g/f a jacket. We started with calamari which was like leather. It was either overcooked or of very low quality.. The portion was really small and the deep fried lemons that were included in the dish did not help a thing. What followed was a long, long, long, long wait for some food. At some point, well over an hour after we ordered entrees, the server comes to apologize for the delay and told us they were putting our pizzas in now. We were probably served 15 or 20 minutes later. By this time, they have at least turned off the fans. Our guest had the Guinness Short Ribs which he loved. I tried it and, despite the fact that I usually love all things Guinness, there was a flavor in the profile that I really did not like. It was served on a bed of sweet potatoes that may have been seasoned with cinnamon which may have been the flavor that didn't work. I was not sure. Both pizzas had a light thin crust with a slight char which was pretty good. I had the spicy sausage pizza and, was disappointed that the sausage was pretty bland. Also, I am not sure why this pie was so wet. I would not think that the sausage was sufficient in to create that much wetness. It could have been the mozzarella, which I assume was made in-house. G/F had the BBQ pizza which was not nearly as good as CPCs version, although it did have corn! This is a gorgeous restaurant with big open spaces and a huge patio. It was not very crowded on a Thursday night and, with three pizza ovens going, it is hard to explain why they were so slow. It could have been a bad night for them but I think they really need to raise the bar on their product.

We stopped in for a quick pie and a couple drinks. The pizzas were good quality brick oven pizzas. Nice char to the crusts but just a tad greasy for some reason. Drinks were good...we shall return.

This place is the bomb diggity. All of their food has amazing flavor. The salads are and truffle fries are sprinkled with crack. They're also happy to accommodate special requests and off-menu ordering; so don't be shy, ask for what you want. The service is usually pretty good... not excellent. But it's the kind of place that would never rush you out the door. Super laid back, come as you are environment that's also classy. The outdoor patio is awesome in the summer. And, they have an entire room dedicated to families with kids!

I've never had a bad meal here. The menu changes seasonally, but a few favorites like the bbq pork pizza are always available. The salmon cooked in parchment paper was hands-down the best salmon dish I've ever had!

Came in to kill some time before having to pick up my son from camp on a Tuesday afternoon after yoga class next door. Glad I had the time to kill because there is no sense of urgency here or at least at lunch there is not. It was a pretty day so I wanted to sit outside but the sun was quite bright and there were no umbrellas up on their expansive patio area. I mentioned to the host they should get some. After talking with the bartender it turns out they have them they were just "put up" at the moment. On a day like this they should put them up and maybe they'd attract more people like some of the other restaurants nearby. I tried one of the gluten free pies and it was not one of the better ones I've had. It was overcooked which caused the pesto sauce and cheese to be dried up and almost non existent. The Parmesan potatoes that came on the side were pretty yummy though. My glass of tea sat empty for at least 15 minutes and even then I had to flag someone down to get a refill. I did still have a little time so I stayed for dessert which was the creme brûlée which was quite tasty. It was a little pricey at $30 for lunch but this included the $5 up charge for gluten free. It wasn't bad but wasn't great....more like 2.5 stars than 3.

I've been here a few times and my last visit was much better than previous visits in terms of service. The food here has always been great, but I found the service to be lacking. I dined here last Wednesday evening with two friends and we had excellent service. It was my first time ordering a pizza and it was delicious.

Went here one Saturday night with wife and friends and liked it so much came back here the next night with the whole family. Pizzas are non-conventional and toppings are good and original. Hummus with pita is really good if you like garlic--comes with a whole roasted head of garlic. Sat at the pizza bar with the family and they give the kids pizza dough to entertain them while they wait. Pizza makers are very friendly and talkative if you sit here. My 8 year old declared the kids cheese pizza "awesome", so he was happy. Loved watching them make the pizzas all night. Service can be a little slow and spotty, but they did make it up for us by sending over a free app and not charging us for our drinks. $3.00 PBR tallboys and the Yelp check in offer make for good drink deals.

Pleasant setting, though a bit noisy when full. Nice outdoor area as well. Love the unique offering of pizzas, and all the ingredients are so fresh! There are a couple of televisions at the bar, and a huge fireplace outside. Great location for date night or a calm family outing.

I was extremely excited when I walked into Fire Stone. I was up in GA for my cousin's high school graduation and my uncle had talked about how good it is. The build out is really cool. It's modern rustic. There is wood with character everywhere. It's larger than you might think. I went to the bathroom and discovered an additional room with a sliding barn door for private parties. When we arrived, we waited for a hostess. She told us that the computers were down but our waiter would be with us in a minute. Turns out that minute turned into almost 20. The waiter walked by and said, "I'll be with you soon" after about 15 minutes but then walked away. I understand the computers being down makes things difficult but there's this thing called paper and pencil. He could have at least gotten our drink orders and put them in the computer later. When he finally came to the table we were ready to chew off an arm. I mean, I was looking around the table thinking which one I would eat first, haha. The menu is diverse and fun. Since I had plenty of time, I looked at yelp while sitting at the table and saw I should steer clear of the pizza (at Fire Stone WOOD FIRED PIZZA and Grill). I saw the BBQ pizza with smoked pork, gouda and red onion and couldn't pass it up. It was a good decision. My pizza was delicious. The smoked pork with the light drizzle of bbq sauce was different and super delicious. The pork was good enough to stand alone. Some of the reviews said the crust was undercooked or burnt. The gouda added a layer that made this a complex ride of flavor. There were 2 pieces that had some scorched crusts but my mom likes her crust a little burnt so she was excited. My uncle got the lamb pizza. It was good. The lamb was spicy and flavorful although it was a little dry. He really enjoyed it. My brother got the prosciutto pizza. It's prosciutto, mozzarella and arugula. There was WAY too much arugula. The whole top of the pizza was covered. I'm not a fan of arugula anyways so this was a major turn off. I didn't actually have a slice of this but he enjoyed it. One of my cousins had the calamari. It was really small and relatively bland. This is surprising since it had jalapeños with it. The jalapeños looked like they had been put in the fryer and then sat there. They were soggy with oil. Another weird thing, they battered and fried lemon slices. It was an unwelcome surprised for my cousin. My dad's soup came out room temperature. My other cousin's food arrived about 10 minutes after the rest of our food. Our waiter told us that the cooks had over cooked the first one. He offered to get her something to make up for it. I mentioned the truffled french fries. He said that her gyro had fries and that's why it was late coming out. So, what were we waiting on? The gyro to cook since it was overcooked before, or french fries? Anyways, the gyro came out. It didn't have pita bread but instead was like a gyro calzone. It could have been delicious but fell short. The gyro meat wasn't very flavorful but the main flavor was salt. The fries were not good at all. They weren't crispy and had no salt. They don't keep salt on the table so she couldn't remedy that problem. They did have a really cool dessert where you roasted marshmallows at the table. If I ever went back I would bring some pizza home with me so I could save room to give those a try. Our waiter was stressed out the whole time. He dates one of the other waitresses and they were fighting while they were working. As I said in my review, my food was really good but the service was really bad. If I lived in GA, I would give it another try but I wouldn't go if I had any plans that required getting out of there in a reasonable amount of time.

Firestone was one of my regular places I'd like to go to for dinner and a good glass of wine. Hadn't visited in quite some time and this past Saturday was the worst yet. We arrived at 6pm fairly early to avoid the dinner crowd and the young girls hostessing were unattentive and unfriendly. We were seated at a 4 top table towards the kitchen which was right on top of another one right next to us. We sat there for just about 15 minutes before anyone came over to take our drink order. The server was quite young as well and when I asked for a drink menu, he said they didn't have any. He went to get us waters and we left...very disappointed in the service Firestone, I hope you re-evaluate your help.

At first glance the atmosphere looked amazing then the waiter was not involved and easily distracted and forgetful, no silverware, no appetizer plates & the tables were tiny. The food was okay but the wedge salad was bigger than the plate making it awkward to eat on their small tables. The child's spaghetti was gummy and the potato crisps were too thin to hold up to the truffle oil so they became un-crispy. The pizza was delicious. But if you want an overall dining experience I would just get the pizza to go....

Came in at 9:15 on a Saturday night. Restaurant was half empty. Two hosts greeted us, one whispers to the other who promptly tells us it'll be a 30-45 minute wait because they have to turn tables. I asked if he was referring to the 10 or so empty, visibly clean tables. Very cold and snobby reception. Not characteristic of Woodstock at ALL! Our response to the reception was to leave and go somewhere else. Won't be returning! Won't be recommending either!

We have visited Firestone a couple times a few months back and were very pleased. The experience we had this evening was very different. First off the hostess was not friendly at all. Next the food. I ordered the key largo pizza. It was horrible. Very very little toppings, cold and black char from a dirty oven all over my plate, pizza and hands. The pizza didn't even have all the toppings as described. My friend had the salmon. It was overcooked and not edible. When we told our waiter we were not happy we were just told sorry. That's it. Sorry. We will never be back and we will tell anyone considering Firestone not to waste their money on their overpriced crappy food.

Went with a few friends to this establishment where we all decided to share several selections of their pizzas. The pizza selections were interesting and tasty, with the exception of the shrimp pizza....a tad spicy and tasted fishy unfortunately. The carmelized onion, pepperoni, and artichoke pizza's were our favorites. Everyone loved the Service was great as the server often checked on us! Great job!

ADD review: improving, stronger service, but food immature My wife and I went tonight for dinner at 6:30pm and were seated promptly. I would not have picked this restaurant based on the reviews here, but my wife ate here and wanted to go back. There were plentiful wait staff and cooks to give us the attention we needed and prepare our food quickly. The only complaint we had was the cold air near the window seats: the wood-fired ovens give off some heat and you'll be in a strong draft if you sit against the windows on the right. We are not 'those people' who complain at meals out, but we did ask for a new table this time. The good news is it gets better from here. Our waiter was not experienced with the menu, but had tried some dishes and offered good recommendations. My wife had the salmon and I went with the lamb chorizo pizza. The salmon was steamed in a papyrus bag and the server courteously offered to cut off the curled, burnt rolls and carefully opened it up for my wife to avoid any burnt parts in her food. I tried a bite and it was cooked and assembled well, but not seasoned enough for my taste. My wife loved it. I appreciated the smoky pizza crust that reminded me of my pizza experience in NY, NY, but the flavor of the pizza was also a little bland and unpolished. For the price (roughly $20 each without tip without starters and sharing a dessert) I expect a little bit of 'wow' in the flavor. I am ok with non-traditional pizza, but this had no sauce and suffered for it. The other ingredients were fresh and good, but I ended up eating much more red pepper with my pizza than I'm used to to give it some zip. Give Zpizza a try to get some creative pizza: night and day. Good tea and the chocolate ice cream chocolate chip cookie sandwich for dessert was ok. I found the cookie curious... not sweet... it must have been made with cocoa and not chocolate chips. For $6 I expect more. Great atmosphere and a good place for a date... as long as your date isn't a foodie :-)

After reading the reviews I didn't really want to go here, but my daughter and my husband wanted pizza. We walked in and was very pleasantly surprised. The warm feel inside and outside patio with the fireplace was inviting (on a warm night I would have loved to sit outside, but it was chilly so we opted for inside). The hostess was very pleasant and she made the first impression a good one. We grabbed a drink from the bar (good selection of beer) and waiting for out table, which was not a long wait. Once seated our server was happy and helpful as it was our first time there. We ordered the two pizza's she recommended (chicken ranch and pesto pizza's) and they were great! I also ordered the caesar side salad and it was just the right mix of dressing and lettuce. The food came out quickly and good timing after having the salad. I will definitely be back here again! I am glad we ended up here and it was a great night!

I've tried this place a few times since my last review. As long as you steer clear from the pizzas, this place is really good! The appetizers, the non-pizza entrees, the desserts, all awesome! Perhaps one day, when I'm feeling adventurous, I'll risk a pizza again. But really, why would I? The other items on the menu are too good to pass up!

This place has so much potential...yet to be realized. A nice addition to the Woodstock Entertainment area (I do not know the true name as I am a visitor) that would benefit greatly from a kitchen that knew how to prepare/stage/deliver. Allow me to explain: We have 4 adults and 2 kids. Place was packed. The outdoor patio was full and the bar stools were full (of cougars....but that is another story). Our food orders were soups and salads and a few small plates...with one entree order (hangar steak). Kids pizza was way undercooked. The dishes came out sporadically with no rhyme or reason The hangar steal portion was measly and came out a full 45 minutes after the first order. The soup of the day was very sweet(!). I will say that the other soup (white bean with shrimp) was very tasty and creative. Like I said...give them some time to work out the staging and ordering issues. The patio was hopping with some live jazz. Would loved to have stayed. Maybe this is better as a bar that serves food as opposed to a restaurant with a bar.

I went here this past Saturday evening and overall the experience was good. Our service was very good. The waiter always seemed to be available when needed and the food was delivered timely. Most of my party had different pizza's and the ones I tasted were good. I found the toppings and sauces to be very good and the crust was ok. It was a bit too thin and crispy for my taste and for the Neapolitan style, if that is what they are going for. The prices for the entrees were decent but the small plates/salads were a bit high making the over price per person a bit high as well for the food delivered. At the end of the day, I would return.

first time i went there with my dad we ate around 6 on a weeknight and it was getting busy. It was different, pricey, but overall great. Great Staff. Then came back next few week for a wknd night and relaxed outside on the patio with the heat lamps. Thought the jazz band would be playing outside thats why My friends and I came but no they played on the inside? Appetizers are smaller than a salad plate portion. Still leaves some to be desired but I hope it will get better

Like their taste but can't believe they would raise the additional charge for the gluten free from $2 to &5! What's up with that?!

Have visited this place a couple of times. The last time I went our server basically said that the food was awful and they were fortunately going to change the menu soon. She was correct, the food was not good at all. So we waited a couple of months and returned. The food was not spectacular at all. The only reason I give it 3 stars is because the patio is an awesome spot to hang out and have a few drinks. The food can be passed over.

Last night was my third time dining at Fire Stone. My first experience was miserable. My second experience was a little better, but still pretty bad (the menu was misleading and I did not get what I ordered and was not offered something new). Last night I was very pleased with the service, menu, and food. The menu has been revamped and offers a "build your own" option which I was pleased with. I also noticed that some of the unclear menu items were fixed. My boyfriend and I had a great dinner and Fire Stone is now going to be a regular date spot for us!

Love the atmosphere...the deck is beautiful1 1st time. Service was terrible especially since it was lunch and it was virtually empty. Pizza's were good. 2nd time: Service was good, prices on small plates are a bit much. Tried a few things that were tasty and well cooked. The lamb meatballs (I love lamb) were terrible. Looked like they had been fried at least twice and had absolutely no flavor at all. Total lack of seasoning. The risotto under the meatballs had the consistency of oatmeal and also lacked seasoning. chopped salad consisted of baby greens and 12 microscopic pieces of tomato. Not enough dressing. ***Not sure I will go back for more than just a glass of wine and the deck. Too bad, we had expected much more from this place.

Recently went with my wife and another couple for dinner. Great atmosphere but a bit on the loud side. We ordered several starters: fried asparagus, calamari, lamb meatballs, and the tuna. All were very good except the meatballs, which did not seem to be seasoned at all. Easy fix. I ordered the Venison Osso bucco. AMAZING FLAVOR! This dish was extemely rich and tasty. Not gamey at all. It was served with rosoto and beets. The rosoto was creamy and the beets added a touch of sweetness to the dish. I can't say enough great things about this meal. It was one of the top three dishes that I've ever eaten while dining out. Our server said that it will soon be removed from the menu as it is not one of the more popular items. If only people would try this, I can guarantee that you will love it. It's different but so good. We had a great time as always and will be back soon.

It was a crazy busy night when I visited Firestone with my boyfriend and a couple of our friends. The wait was long, but they took my cell # and texted me when the table was ready, which was great. They also had a lovely selection of drinks to choose from at the bar. The house red Sangria was a sweet/tart potent combo. We shared a carafe of "Campfire Punch" with dinner, which I should have ordered from the start. It was not too sweet, and not overpoweringly rum flavored. I could taste the spices & the I would definitely have enjoyed sipping it around a campfire. My Key Largo pizza arrived promptly and was exactly what I expected. Full of complex island flavors. I can sum up my enjoyment in just 3 words: HOUSE MADE BACON!!! I tried a slice of Spicy Chicken, which had just the right kick tempered by the fresh ricotta, and a slice of the pesto which had a delicious sweet balsamic glaze drizzled over it. I think I'd like to go back on a night when they're not quite as busy and the patio looks lovely (when it's not freezing cold outside) I am sure it's a wonderful place to dine outdoors & and watch the people go by.

This is a great spot in the recently updated Downtown Woodstock. It has a great variety foods from salmon to venison on the menu. The pizzas are awesome! They have a large mixed drink and wine menu. So all in all it is a perfect local joint for casual dining. The wait staff has been great and the food has been well prepared. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great sit down meal.

2 of us arrived at 6:20 pm on Sunday. We were seated at farthest table in back. Chose to sit inside since it was pretty warm out. Ordered unsweetened tea and had to ask for Splenda and lemon. 3rd person arrived at 6:30 and ordered beer which turned out to be out. We ordered right away as we were all hungry. After 10 minutes the artichoke SIDE dish arrived. The waitress said she thought it was meant to be an appetizer even though it was ordered following the main dish. Waitress said she would reheat it when entres arrived. 10 min. later the Magharita pizza arrived. 10 min after that the other 2 entres arrived. The artichokes were reheated. I ordered the blade steak. I realize it's not the most tender steak but I like it because it's tasty and was the only steak on the menu. It was so tough I couldn't chew it enough to swallow it. The waitress said it was because of how I ordered it (medium) The manager came over and asked if he could bring me something else. I said I couldn't wait another 40 min to get my meal. He said he could bring the pork shank quickly and he did. It was delicious. The other entre was the salmon which was good. The waitress brought us to-go boxes. I packed the leftover steak for my dogs since I was pretty sure they could chew it. We finally got our bill and the waitress noted that we hadn't been charged for the pork. We were charged for the steak which was more expensive After waiting for someone to come and take it we gave up and took it to the register. The restaurant was almost empty with many people outside. Mysterious and awful visit. My first and last visit.

I have eaten here several times and the food is good with unique offerings and flavors. HERE IS THE RUB: They DO NOT handle large crowds well and they are ALWAYS crowded on Friday and Saturday nights. We had a 7:15 reservation and were not seated until almost 7:40. I make reservations so I do NOT have to wait. Once seated it took 10 minutes or so for our server to get to us and she only had three tables counting ours. We finally received our food around 8:30 almost an hour after being seated. My chicken was cold and dry and the server never came back and checked on whether or not our drinks needed to be refilled. They have some SERIOUS work to do on learning on how to handle busy nights. We will most definitely NOT return on a Friday or Saturday evening again. They have some real work to do on handling busy nights or at some point the unique offerings will NOT make up for the poor experience.

The food here is really good, which is actually why I am taking the time to write a review, because our server ruined my experience. Today I took my mother in law here for a belated mother's day lunch with my 4-year-old as well. The good: the house salad, the roasted artichokes, the cream of asparagus soup (my MIL said she would return for that alone), the vegetarian and gluten-free choices clearly marked on the menu, the large kids menu. The bad: first our server brought me sweet rather than unsweetened tea, which is no big deal. The she (or someone) placed my MIL's soup spoon with my daughter's meal and gave her attitude when she asked for one (not realizing that was it). She forgot one of our dishes and then we didn't see her again for 20 minutes; by then, we were done, so I just asked that she cancel that order and ask the manager to comp one of our dishes. I rarely complain at restaurants but this is my experience of how managers handle it when something is forgotten or late, without me even asking. She then ROLLED HER EYES AT ME. And did comp one side dish, to be fair. Then I was still forced to ask for the cookie that was supposed to come with the kids meal. I was so anxious to get out of there before something else happened. If a manager ever come by our table, I would have explained all this to him/her, but instead I hope they get this feedback here.

Something is burning! It's not the building, just the food. At least, that's the smell I found when entering the Fire Stone Wood Fired Pizza Grill. The hostess was friendly, as was our waiter (at first). He started by welcoming us to Marietta Fish Market, then paused and said "can you tell I'm new here?" Maybe it was a sign to run the other direction, but having a sense of adventure about us, my wife and I decided to stay. The starter: I started with the white-bean soup, and was expecting something like other bean-style soups. It would probably be a pork or beef base for the richness. Instead I found a handful of shrimp cooked to oblivion. They were rubbery and were cooked so long that were cork-screwed in shape. I sent it back due to it's repulsive nature. The pizza: When I think of pizza in a nice wood-fired oven, I'm thinking tasty, yet rustic dishes could be served. However, that isn't the case. The pizza dishes range from the classic pepperoni, four cheese, and the margherita pizza all the way to the more obscure like barbecue pork or something with shrimp on it. I feel like they tried to emulate what CPK has, but it's done poorly. Pizza size is what I would consider personal-dish. Anyway, the margherita pizza was a few small cuts of mozzarella with a really BAD tomato sauce and huge basil leaves. It tasted really bad. Even worse, there wasn't even enough cheese to be on each of the dinky slices they cut. The BBQ pork pizza was a novel concept, but once again poorly executed. The pork chunks were good, but the toppings didn't quite mesh. I felt there was something missing from it. There was food leftover, but we didn't take it. None of it worth wasting the energy to heat up again. There is a plus to all of this, they serve gluten-free food as well! Just ask. Would I go back? Maybe 6 months from now, if they're still open. What can I say? The food sucks and we waited WAY too long to get our food. For now, I recommend most of you to steer clear from this place.

Food and atmosphere were great, and our server was pretty good as well. Here's the rub - we were a large party celebrating a birthday party and were seated on the patio. It took some time to get seated, and once we did we set up camp for a night of drinking and eating - or so we thought. Soon after we finished our meal the check showed up without us asking for it. The server was very apologetic and said the manager wanted us out. Drinks = profits jerk. You will not be seeing my profit bearing ass again.

You should check it out, but proceed with caution....... Drove by a few times and finally decided to try the place out with my family and her parents. I briefly checked out the website out a few weeks before my initial visit. I knew that they had wood burning ovens and I was excited to try it out. Once walking in, I was pleasently surprised at the menu, which not only had wood fired pizzas, but a nice selection of creative and culinary focused small plates "Tapas", salads and main entrees. The website's main page only highlights the pizza, but after going back I did notice that you can download the whole menu (not updated, but about 80% accurate to what I remember seeing on my visit). There is alot to like about this restaurant, but then there are a few things that are just a miss. Not having salt & pepper on the table is just plan out pretentious! Restaurant is beautiful and staff is very welcoming and nice and I love the uniforms! Alot of the vechicles they use for their table top and service is unique and fun. I love the water pitchers and kithen towels as napkins! The kitchen is open, which is cool, but only if it is clean....which it was not. The name of the joint emplies that there specialty is wood fire pizzas. The creative ingredient pairings and ideas of the pizzas were all well done and thought out. This is definetley a "foodie" and not your traditional pizza joint. I ended up ordering a entree, but my wife ordered a four cheese pizza. The crust was not what I was expecting. Your typical neopolitan high temperature oven dough consist of a moist "00" flour base dough that has a nice rise and crunchy, slightly blistered-charred exterior and chewy interior crust. My wifes pie was none of that, excpet the blistered-charred part.....overly charred....just plan BURNT. On the way out I was curious to see what the other pizzas were like and glanced at many tables.....most, if not all of the pizzas were burned, with many of the customers picking apart the black charred dough. The picture on their webiste shows what I would expect to see.......what was going out of that kitchen was just plan careless. Now here is the good part: I went in for a pizza and was won over by the rest of the menu. I ended up ordering and sharing several small plates as an appitizer. The Crisp Fried Calamari was well done. Served with fried lemon and cherry peppers, Italina parsley salad, and a really nice lemon aioli. The House Made Brautwerst & Sauerkraut was great (not very hot, luke warm), served with grainy mustard and gherkins in small Lodge cast iron dish This dish would of been fantastic if hotter. The house fried potato chips were okay, but the portion and value for this dish was lacking, they coudl of easily doubled the portion and still mantain their cost. Because of that I would not reorder. I also had the soup du jour, which was a chick pea and pullled pork in a spicy tomato broth. This was also very good, but $7 for a cup like portion is a bad value perception and I will skip ordering a soup the next time I go. The Braised Short Ribs were just absoultley dynomite. Perfectly cooked, moist, not dried, served with a smooth and tasty sweet potato puree, brussel sprouts in bacon, natural jus, and a small frisee & watercress salad with a very light and acidic lemon vinaigrette.I cleaned my plate. This one dish will bring me back. My father-in-law had the Hangar Steak with whipped potatoes, crispy onion, haricot verts, and what looked to be a red wine demi-glace. I did not try the dish, but the onions, did look under cooked. The steak was nicely cooked and rested, so when they sliced the steak, the blood did not run out on the dish. We ordered the Cobbler and the Ice Cream Sandwich. Only complaint on the cobberl is that it was a fairly good size with about 4 tablespoons of icecream. You have to have enough ice cream to enjoy the rest. the Cobbler itself was really good. The Ice Cream Sandwicg was okay, but the ice cream in the sandwich was awesome. The cookie was slight hard to eat, especially on the plate in which they served it on. All in all, I will be back.....especailIy to try out many of the other small plates and entrees. I do think they need to work on their pizza execution. Its in the name of the joint.....In order for it to be sucessful in Woodstock, they may have to dumb down the menu a little bit. Not sure if Woodstock is ready Duck Rillettes and Grilled Octopus.....both items I love to eat....I didn't order beacuse no one else would of eaten them..... I would love to see this place work out the kinks and be sucessful. I really thought the chef did a nice job creating the menu and the menu brings something nice to this area that it just doesn't have.

We went here for Mothers Day and had to wait about 45 minutes for a table which we expected considering the occasion but it was what happened afterward that had us leaving hungry. Our table was ready at 7:00pm and good 5 minutes went by before we were finally seated because the hostess would not allow us to sit down until there was silverware on the table which she finally had to go get herself after another worker told her he'd get it. We finally sat down and it was freezing in there. Those of us with jackets had to wear them the entire time we were there. About 10 minutes after being seated our server finally comes around and takes our drink order. It took about 5 or 10 minutes for our drinks to arrive at which point we asked the server if they were short staffed and he said they were down by 3 servers so we were understanding. My brother and I both ordered UNsweet tea and asked for sweetener which he never brought. We ultimately had to ask another server to bring it. At 7:30 we were finally able to place a food order which consisted mostly of pizzas. After being told a couple of times that our food would be right out, 45 minutes after ordering my very frustrated our mother went to the kitchen area to ask the manager where our food was as a table that had been seated AFTER we placed our order had already gotten their pizzas. She had to drag it out of him that the kitchen had lost our order and offered a canned apology. 10 minutes later our server brings out a Salmon dish and we had to remind him that my brother had ordered the Salmon Pizza not the Salmon. About 5 minutes after that, having finally had enough and my brother and sister-in-law needing to get home to get my 6 year old nephew to bed, we finally decided to just leave. The manager never came over to our table to apologize or even explain to the group what was happening, even as we walked out hungry on Mothers Day. Needless to say, we will not be going back.

A friend and I went there for the first time, as it had been recommended to me and we wanted to try something new and local. I had the veggie pasta dish and my friend had the salmon pizza, along with some fabulous red wine (which they let us taste a couple of different kinds to find one we really both enjoyed). We sat in the outside patio, by the fireplace and outdoor heaters (which were fabulous). The atmosphere was great, food was great and service was great... we really enjoyed our dinner there and will be back!

Had dinner here this week with my husband and daughter. Was thoroughly impressed! It was my first time to downtown Woodstock and the restaurant is in a great location with plenty of parking and a huge outside area with a firepit (too cold to sit outside when we were there but I'm imagining its awesome in warmer weather). Food was delish! We had the blue cheese chips, mussells, and calamari as apps and all three were great. I'm still dreaming about those blue cheese chips - I all but licked the plate when they were gone! I had pepperoni pizza for dinner and it was wonderful - thin crust, big slices of pepperoni perfectly crisp, and large pieces of parmesan cheese on top. I finished half at dinner and wolfed down the rest for lunch the next day and it was just as good the second day! My hubby enjoyed his pork chops and our daughter enjoyed her kids portion of grilled chicken and broccoli which was huge, by the way. Overall, we had a great time and were impressed by the quality of the food and the service. We will be back!

My husband and I went for lunch while in town and had great service. Loved the fig pizza and the crispy shrimp pizza. Went back the next day (we've never done that before) and tried the four cheese pizza and the portabello pizza and were once again pleased. Server Bobby was terrific.

My wife and I, along with various friends and family, have been 5 or 6 times now and we have yet to be disappointed in the food or the service. It's nice to have something a little different in the area. My hope is they start to vary the Menu a bit as it is always fun to try new items.

Meh - exact word I would use to describe this place. I met a friend here for a midweek dinner and was underwhelmed by the food. It was a bit pricey for my taste, too. I ordered a salad and pizza. In theory, the salad sounded amazing (can't remember the name, but it had peaches and pecans in it) on the menu. But when it came out it just didn't "jive" in my mouth... Something weird about the flavors just not mixing together... And the pizza was certainly no exception. It was just OK. I would have much rather dropped my $30 at Pure or Ipps...

I was wary of this restaurant because of the reviews, but after eating here, I realized that those people had no idea what they were talking about! You here of those stories where former staff members get their friends to post bad things in revenge, well this is what's happened to reviews of Fire Stone! I couldn't have had a more pleasurable experience. The staff was attentive and my pizza was delicious! In addition, the food was quick to come out and the facilities were clean. I'm plan to come back a lot this summer so that I can enjoy the gorgeous porch. Don't waste your time reading the negative reviews; try this place out for yourself-you won't be disappointed!

Pizza was on point. Quick easy, cool ambiance, Abbie was a pleasure at the bar. She can mix one up! A place to visit and revisit. Lamb meatballs were a treat to the pallet. If they made a bar outside for the winter they would be 5 star.

After reading some of the reviews I was tentative about booking a Birthday dinner for 15 people. We reserved the back area and we were very pleased. The management and service were excellent and the food was very good. This is a very nice restaurant with top notch service and atmosphere in Woodstock, Ga. We would not hesitate to go back with family or as a couple and are very pleased to have a Buckhead class restaurant 5 min away!

I was very glad to see another restaurant in the trendy area of downtown Woodstock. I'm definitely a foodie and the places there have been great new options. Vingenzos impressed me. So, a friend and I stop by for an early dinner and upon looking at the menu I call my husband and have him plan to stop by after work because the menu looks so fabulous. Small plates, large plates. Pork belly, olives marinated in house, a dish with truffle oil. I'm excited. So, to start my friend and I order the marinated olives and the chips with blue cheese and truffle oil. Both were ok... maybe even good. The olives were definitely different in a good way. Not memorable... but different. I ordered the pork belly. It was also ok. I wasn't excited about it. It was fine. Ordered the artichokes. They were good. I really like artichokes and I enjoyed them. My friend ordered the 4 cheese pizza. It was maybe the best thing that I tasted there. It had some tomatoes on it (so it could have been something different, but cheese and tomatoes). My husband got the pizza with fig. I'm a big fan of fig. I made one at home that was better... it was a good recipe, but I'm not chef level good at cooking. Little disappointed with the fig pizza. I may give it another shot... but I did taste 6 menu items and nothing wowed me. It was fine. I could go back for some pizza. I just know the potential of ingredients like truffle oil, and figs, and it wasn't what I hoped for. Staff was great. Venue was awesome. Super cozy. I'm hoping to go back and be impressed.

Have eaten here several times because the location and atmosphere are great. Food is average and highly overpriced. Service is slightly below average. Great bar and outdoor seating

I was really nervous to try because of the reviews regarding the service. Glad I tried it out- everyone that worked there was friendly. Our waitress was attentive. I got a wedge salad and had blue cheese added- it was really good but could have used more bacon. I got the grand pizza. It was pretty good but I wish I would have tried something else after realizing it's basically a "supreme" pizza. For dessert (which was free thanks to yelp!) I got a creme brûlée. It was seriously awesome! Next time I'll just get a salad and. A brûlée! My friend got a flourless chocolate cake which I sampled and did not like. It was dry and too rich for me- she liked it though! Next time I will sit inside because the flies were horrible!!! While reading the reviews I was rolling my eyes where the people complained about the flies. It is literally that bad! Eat inside because they were swarming us like crazy!! I'd suggest some citronella or something! Overall- I've learned a valuable lesson-- don't go to restaurants solely based off other yelpers opinions. I would come back to this restaurant for sure!

Very sad.

  • Craig G.

We stopped in for a quick pie and a couple drinks. The pizzas were good quality brick oven pizzas. Nice char to the crusts but just a tad greasy for some reason. Drinks were good...we shall return.

The food is really excellent! Hubs said his pizza needed just a little more sauce, but other than that everything was very tasty! We sat at the bar and service was great.

I've never had a bad meal here. The menu changes seasonally, but a few favorites like the bbq pork pizza are always available. The salmon cooked in parchment paper was hands-down the best salmon dish I've ever had!

We were told that the wait time was 35 mins or less...1hour & 25 mins later we were finally seated. The food was great and service was good considering how busy it was.
