Food is good and service is great. I love the atmosphere! I can't wait until the summer time so we can eat upstairs on the roof top!

MistiNO! Ordered the double combo fajitas. The steak, chicken, peppers and onions were burnt, as in burnt black. The steak was tough and had no flavor at all. The chicken was dry and had no flavor. We basically flushed $20 down the toilet. Horrible food! We will never go back! The service sucked. Maybe there was a reason we were the only people in there during dinner time. Eat there at your own risk.

Went here after my boyfriends cousins HS graduation. We got there at 9:50 and noticed they were closing at their normal business hours which is 10pm during the weekdays. The management decided to seat us and feed us since we had a large group of 20. The chips and cheese dip were warm and good. The salsa was okay, standard. The drinks coming out were a little slow but picked up when a few more waiters started to help. My only criticism was the timing of taking our entree orders but they were doing us a favor by remaining open, however, for large hungry groups, it's best to immediately take them to keep the flow quick. The waiter was very friendly but kept waiting to take orders because in his mind the graduate didn't arrive yet. The food was really great mexican with delicious taste, flavor and the char on the meat was spot on. If we lived in the area, we would definitely be back

In terms of Mexican restaurants in the area, this one is by far the best. I am in the Winder/Bethlehem area frequently for dinner. All the restaurants on 316 are garbage in comparison. I usually get the veggie fajitas and they are delicious and the veggies are cooked perfectly every time. Service is prompt and friendly! Definitely try this place out.

I had a chicken dish with creamy poblano sauce and it was good. My partner had a taco salad and it looked awful.

First time I visited this establishment was with my boyfriend late on a Monday night. There were a couple of guy servers. They sat us immediately, were warm and humorous. We LOVED this place. The food was off the chain. I highly recommend the southwestern egg rolls as a starter and the wild mushroom quesadilla. The cheese dip is also phenomenal. If I was reviewing after that night only, this would be a five star review. But sadly that's not the case. I couldn't wait to go back, so I took my parents the next Saturday. We went in the late afternoon. There were only a few female waitresses, none of the nice guys from that Monday night. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant, and it took them FIVE minutes to seat us. I had raved to my parents about this place, and they couldn't even seat us when the restaurant was almost empty! We sat down. Took a while for waitress to finally come. When she did she was frantic. The worst part though, was that when my dad went to get up to go to the bathroom, he noticed a giant roach on the floor next to our table. It was disgusting. I couldn't get the sensation of creepy crawly out of my mind. Then halfway into our meal, a waitress came by, stepped on it and squished it into the ground, and then walked away. Leaving its guts spilling out of its crushed body, right next to our table, while we're trying to eat. Yuck!!!! This totally ruined it for me. I was heartbroken. I told my mom it was the best Mexican food we'd had since leaving Texas. Then I bring her to a place that can't even pick up a dead ROACH. Disappointing. So, so sad. I don't know if I can enjoy it anymore.

This place is great! At first I was a little leery because the name is weird and it just doesn't look busy a lot of the time, but that must be because no one realizes what they're missing, or maybe I eat at weird times. Whatever. The food is super fresh and the helpings are massive, the prices are reasonable, the waiters/waitresses are friendly, fun and love to joke around with you, the margaritas are strong and tasty. Can't ask for much more!

An absolutely wonderful lunch! I had the Dani's burrito and it was fantastic. The steak is so well seasoned. The service is top notch (Ashley was very friendly) and everything is made fresh and to order. From the time you sit and have the homemade salsa and chips, you'll feel welcome. Fantastic experience.

This is one of my favorite places to eat. I have tried many items in the menu but my favorites are the shrimp salad and panchos burrito. The sweet tea is fantastic. Good food...consistently.

El Mistico waaaaay better then La Luna (the restaurant here before El Mistico) that's for sure! And since the grand opening of El Mistico, the food has definitely improved! Drinks are awesome here! Our bartender and waitress (Alma) is the best!!! She's top notch! I usually get the rollo de steak (steak wrapped in chicharon with a side if mashed potatoes). It's delicious!!! The marshmallow margarita is an interesting experience (pretty different and good). I prefer El Mistico over El Real (competition Tex-Mex restaurant) any day!

Wow!! I had my first meal at Mistico yesterday and it was superb. I heard the food was good but that is a huge understatement. I ordered Chilaquiles which I have found is the benchmark of a good Mexican restaurant. First, they were on the menu. Kudos for that. When I asked if I could get them with salsa verde, I was told, no problem and that Arturo, the owner was going to prepare it for me. When my plate arrived, it was so pretty, I had to take a picture. Not only did I get Chicken Chilaquiles Verde, there was a large portion of sliced steak and a mound of beautifully cooked rice. The Chilaquiles were topped with perfectly fried eggs. When I cut into the eggs, the yolk mixed into the chicken (a mother and child reunion). The first mouthful was so flavorful and the only other words I could think of are delicate and divine. They were nothing like I have ever had before. The steak was tender with just enough char to give it a slight smoky flavor. Our server was very attentive and kept our drinks filled, even insisting that we take to-go cups because it was hot outside. I wish if lived closer but will not hesitate to make the trip.

I had dinner there last night and I was impressed. The staff was friendly and the food was a notch above your standard Mexican fare. The use of authentic ingredients is what caught my eye. They have several Mexican dishes on the menu that most Mexican restaurants don't bother to offer. My only recommendation is, the plates were not hot. A minor issue easily fixed.

Love the chorioqueso dip, and for the surprising price of $5. Probably the main reason we eat here. Other places want to charge close to $5 for a plain small queso. For the most part the food is great, service could be better though.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
