Diabetics at TGI Friday

If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.

Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:

Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. Also, skip Warm Pretzels with Craft Beer-Cheese dipping sauce as it contains more than 3000mg sodium. It is wise to skip the dessert for diabetics, especially the Brownie Obsession topped with Vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and pecans.

Great privately owned restaurant. Food was really good, and service was great. I will definitely be back.

1.Bada Bang shrimp was good. 2. Dirty Fish: turned out to be salty after couple of spoons may be due to the seasoning. 3. Cajun chicken pasta was terrible, pasta was rubbery and chciken was stale, wrong place to order pasta on first place. Ambience was good and service was on time.

This is your standard bar and grill joint. A step above in terms of variety of food offered. Burgers, chicken fingers, salads, sandwiches, etc. Tater tots were good as were the buffalo chicken tenders. The French dip sandwich looked good but didn't look spectacular. One major downfall for me at least was they serve Pepsi products. Decent place for groups. Good service. Prices were decent. Lots of TVs available. Would I go back? Eh, not sure. There's better places in Suwanee Town Center. Price was okay though.

We stopped over for a few beers and appetizers and I happened to have my dog with me since we were at Suwannee Park. We weren't allowed to bring him on the back patio but could tie him to the fence, which was totally acceptable. So we had him tied under the shade. Without even asking, a young server comes out and provides my dog with water. Which was super nice. Our waiter was attentive and friendly and all around a good experience. This review is pretty much just based on attitude and atmosphere. We didn't eat since it was after lunch and we were only thirsty. We did get the fried pickles which were good. Overall, a great time.

I ordered the french dip and tots. French dip was a little dry and overcooked. My friend had a burger that looked great. My order came out wrong, but was quickly fixed. The wait staff looks like they came straight from high school. One of the servers is literally laying down in the booth behind me on her cell phone. The food isn't bad, but the service could use some serious work. It's a strong meh.

Pretty good food and pretty good service. Not my number one pick but I don't hate it and have been back several times and will keep going back.

They change their menu often and don't have the good cheesesteak I mentioned in my last review. A few people have emailed me stating they don't have the cheesesteak anymore so that's the reason. I will keep my review at 4 starts because I like their food, however, there are two issues I have. 1. They serve Pepsi products instead of Coke. 2. They got rid of their baked potatoes. My wife likes to order a loaded baked potato with her steak tips. They offered her loaded mashed potatoes which she was fine with, Either the kitchen screwed up (I hope) or they changed to instant potatoes. They were so runny that we both couldn't figure out if they were instant or if the cook screwed up. Please Suzanne and Ray, I hope you'll go back to the Baked Potatoes because if you are using instant potatoes it's a very bad sign! We will try it again soon and if we can determine the potatoes are the real thing I will edit my review!

Best family and bar style restaurant EVER! Heat menu that's updated every 6 months to stay fresh and different! Quality products and good service. Ray and Suzanne the owners are all about community and supporting great causes! EAT THERE NOW !

Honestly nothing to "write home about here" basically American grilled food, fried mostly etc. We ate the grilled chicken with broccoli it was ok - not bad. Service was really good so they got 4 stars for that reason.

  • Josh C.

So I had the same burger I had a month ago. Unfortunately same results the meat quality just isn't there. The bun was fresh the lettuce crisp, tomato cold but the beef is just a greasy mess. I even had a hard chip of bone or very hard cartilage which I took a picture of. This place has potential but for me burger quality for a sports bar is a must.

  • Melissa W.

Love all of the locations. Wings and burgers are great. Looey gooey and blue cheese are great but I think the plain old cheeseburger is the best! Also, they have some very good entrees (fish and chips, chicken pasta).

This place rocks!! The bartenders (Heather,Shannon, and Cristina) Are super nice!! This is my favorite place to eat and drink. I would recommend any and all to come check it out.

It was buy 10 wings, get 10 wings free night (Wednesday night)...the night before thanksgiving. I heard mixed reviews about this place so I decided to try it. Who can turn down 20 wings for 10 bucks? Our order was delayed so a VERY nice manager brought us a cheese quesadilla for our wait. The wings came and the teriyaki wings were salty and the medium hot wings had a funny, almost artificial flavor. I wasn't impressed at all but it was a complete disaster. I will be back on slider special night to see if I should give their full-sized full-priced burgers a try. I compare all Asian flavored wings to Wild Wing's ginger wings...and haven't found a viable contender yet!

Friends is our favorite place to go out to relax. Great or grabbing a bite to eat, visiting with friends & having a few drinks. The food is all top notch, large portions, very fair prices. Every time we hit Friends they have something going on, dice roll, Prime Rib, wing specials, Trivia, cheese burger basket deal (my favorite)! Also very family friendly :-)

  • Randy H.

From my understanding, this location recently opened. The customer service was great and the food tasted great. I went typical and got 10 hot wings. The wings were great. They weren't dry and werent drowning in sauce. It was crisp. Hopefully this continues. My coworkers enjoyed their burger and shrimp po boy. The Shrimp Po Boy did have pretty large shrimp, which was not expected. I would definitely recommend trying it out. I will be back to try this place out again to see if the service and food continue to be great.

  • Justin S.

Friends is like a modern day Cheers. I love it. You come in and everyone is so friendly. They play great music and have the best wings in town. This is the sports bar for Suwanee.

  • Amanda G.

This place has so much potential but doesn't quite live up to it. I work close by and have had takeout as well as dined in. The service is always pretty good, the food is just inconsistent. Sometimes the fries are soggy and too greasy, other times they're crispy and good- you just never know what quality you will get. They're wings are okay, too peppery and not enough sauce for me. The chicken tenders are good and the burger is alright. Maybe once things get up and rolling at this location it will be better but so far it's not so good.

I have been to Friends a few times and it has been pretty good. Tonight it was just so-so. The waitresses and hostesses were on their cellphones (probably checking Facebook or text msgs), and some of their shorts were way too short and/or too tight. The food was sub par and disappointing. The manager took my wings off the bill, which was kind, but I really wanted my wings to be yummy! When Taco Mac & Wild Wings are up the street, you gotta make the wings perfect! At least try this restaurant to see for yourself, because you may like something on the menu. Tonight Friends was not IT for me. PS Not sure if I like the new menu, either. The pictures on it don't make the food look appetizing.

Great beer selection on tap, including local craft beers. Food is good, maybe a little above average for sports bar fare. Food specials most nights, live music on weekends. Nice patio for Summer evenings.

  • Mark P.

My brother passes by this place on his way to work, so we decided to check it out. I had the 4th of July burger, and it was excellent! The burger was big, and the French fries were good as well. We will definitely be coming back!

    (5)
  • Jay P.

Tried the fries as many others have recommended. Not as great as stated... Cowboy steak taco was awesome. The steak was tender and flavorful. Loaded French dip was ok. It wasn't loaded like the menu said. It was lacking mushrooms and onions. Steamed broccoli was good but priced too high. Bada bang shrimp was super heavily breaded (understatement). The sauce was good but the breading ruined it.

  • John N.

We used to go every Friday (and sometimes Saturdays too) to catch some live music. They work hard to keep people happy, and I appreciate that! Only once did I ever get food that wasn't perfect - I like spicy food, but the wing sauce I got on my wrap wasn't hot enough for my taste. Easy to fix. The staff and owners are great. I typically get one of their burgers (the recheck, or the bacon-bacon burger). I'd like to see some more variety in their beer selection, but that's about all I can come up with in regards to "feedback" for this great restaurant.

If you want run of the mill this is the place to go. Our waiter was brand new and did a good job. I think it was the fry cook's first job too. The tater tot appetizer had a burnt taste from the cooking oil and the Bayou Tenders were more than well done. A woman I assume was a manager was surprised about the poor quality and offered a free dessert which was a nice gesture but her overall concern was insincere. The good thing is there are plenty of good sports bars to go to and Friends is a place I will not be giving a second chance.

My parents like to go to their location in Dacula and I've met them up there a few times and always enjoy the experience! I was very excited when the new location in Suwanee opened up near my house! First of all the owner is at both locations frequently, and actively working, which makes you feel good being there that the owner cares about the restaurant and customer service! The employees were all very friendly and helpful! Danica at the bar is awesome and friendly, she balances a lot of customers while also making for a good, speedy, pleasant experience! The buffalo chicken dip is TO DIE FOR! I am a lover of buffalo chicken ANYTHING so being able to have this for lunch pretty much made my day! I cannot wait to visit this location more often for lunch and dinner, especially since the location is so convenient and close to my house! They also have trivia, which makes it even better!!! Stop in Friend's for an awesome experience

The Cheesy Burger is outstanding . They always have the best fries.

    (5)
  • Cathy S.

Nothing about the food...but the service stinks! The manager was more concerned that I was sitting on "trivia corner" than the fact that I had been there for 120 minutes without any service. I've been here before and the service was ok, but not tonight. Don't think I'll be visiting this place EVER again!

My mom arrived for a visit on a Saturday a few months back (yes, I know I'm really slow in giving a review). We decided to visit Friends American Grill in Suwanee. For whatever reason, I had been wanting to give the place a try but hadn't gotten around to it until this visit. It was after the normal lunch "rush" that might occur. We were seated and it took almost 10 minutes for someone to come and take our order. There MAY have been one other table occupied. We both ordered burgers, which came with fries, and a "Coke". We were never made aware that they do not serve Coke products, nor were we asked if Pepsi would be okay. Granted, this could have been on the menu and both my mother and I missed it. The burgers were SLOW to arrive. They had almost no seasoning on them. They seemed to just be standard issue pre-formed frozen patties. The first couple of fries were good and were hot. They so rapidly became cold....and had the most bizarre texture and taste. I am NOT a ketchup person....but, those fries got ketchup to make them sort of edible. The waitress came back once to ask if everything was okay..but, it was so soon after the food was delivered that it was "okay" at that moment. By the time she brought our check...both were just ready to leave and not haggle about piss-poor service, overpaying for piss-poor food. I see A LOT of great reviews...but, I'm not sure when those people are going, what they are ordering....or what their taste buds think is good. But, this was beyond bad on every level possible. I will not be back. And, they are only 1/2 mile from my house. I have to say that I am appalled in the manner in which a negative reviews were responded both here and UrbanSpoon. I fully expect a similar snarky, unprofessional comment to pop up on this review as well. That's okay. It will only show the manner in which customers are treated. I will say this..I was never rude, loud, threatening or combative while in this restaurant visit. I also know the difference between a frozen, pre-formed patty and a freshly made patty from decent meat. So, please don't try that underhanded tactic. The two unprofessional and rude comments are letting me know that my choice to never return to this establishment is spot on.

Love love love it here. The atmosphere is great and love the food. The owners are great and you can see it in the food and by the people here. Definitely a keeper for suwanee.

Went here for the first time tonight. Our waitress was not very attentive, food was average, and not worth the $40 bill for 2. There are much better bar & grills in the area, and this was the only one without a wait...now I see why.

I went to Friends for the first time last night with a date. When we walked in the hostess tried seating us at the front door and we asked to be moved to an interior table so we would not feel the cold. She sat us at a dirty table and I sat in someone else's food and put my arms into their filthy table too. When we made our server aware of it she moved us to a table next to what we believed to be a fire door. It turned out to be a regular door and now it was opening 1 foot from our table freezing us out. After a while the General Manager came over and spoke to us. He barely addressed what was happened and made small talk about how they were expanding to a couple more locations. After a while he realized that the cold was bothering us and his big gratuitous move was to lock that door so no one would use it any longer. The food was unremarkable and the General Manager did nothing about our experience and did not even offer a free soda for our trouble or to cover the cleaning bill of my clothes. With friends like this, who needs enemies? I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who wears shoes when they go into a food store. Update: Wow, I just read the comment from the Owner of this business. This shows how unprofessional this man is and you should definitely be careful when doing business with this establishment. He claims I threatened and intimidated his wait staff. I guess the server was really intimidated when she moved us to another table in a different station and asked that server if she could retain us as a customer. Also, the 20% tip I left her must have been very intimidating too. The fact that the General Manager liked us so much that he brought over another server to show us her Cross Fit routine when we were talking about fitness and her sitting down and sharing it with us is another sign of my threatening behavior. The only threat here is the insults and false statements by Ray S. The fact that he went on to insult the entire community of Conyers, GA is even more remarkable. It truly is rare for a business owner to display such hubris in this day and time......

We've been here 6 or 7 times since they opened and have enjoyed the experience very much each time. The service is excellent! Trying something different from the menu each visit we have never been less than happy with the food. Friends is also really great at mixing up the entertainment depending on when you are there. Looking forward to my first college football experience there today!

Loved this restaurant! There are a few around the Atlanta area and i love them all! Im glad they opened a friends here in Suwanee! The location they opened it has struggled in the past, every restaurant that has been there has died, but i think friends is a definite keeper

  • Retha G.

Restaurant is fine. Nothing really special about it that stands out. Food is like something you can fix at home. Like I said, it doesn't stand it. Nothing unique about it. This would be a good place to come when there is football on or any kind sporting game. Nice atmosphere.

This location is the 3rd I've tried, and the food met my expectations set by the other Friends locations . Its nothing super great and not bad either. There were plenty of open seats available while the other sports bars up the street were packed , that is a sign that there is room for improvement, or no one knows they are there yet. The fish and chips were good, and the hoagie style sandwiches are good too. I've had the loaded nachos at other locations which were good, as well as the buffalo tender salad thing. It is located at Suwanee Town Center which is a super location while enjoying the park. Only complaint I have is they would not allow me to use my fundraiser coupon discount card while paying, the waitress said once she prints your ticket its too late to use the coupon, so she denied me the use of the coupon. Said the ticket couldn't be changed, shame on me for not telling them up front. My fault , but I may choose to go to the big Sports bar 1/2 mile up the street from now on, since I'm not smart enough to be a Friends customer. All in all, clean nice place, good feel to it if you have kids, food is good too, bad policy with coupons users though. Oh, and they have Pepsi products, not a big fan of that.

Tried this joint out the other night and was really impressed. Atmosphere and decor was pretty cool. The food was great and the staff were awesome as well. I'll definitely be going back!

  • Lawson L.

This was our first time but we probably won't be back. The staff was nice but the food was lacking. Both of our meals came out wrong. My husband asked for no mushrooms and got them and my burger was so luke warm it couldn't even melt the cheese on top. There are to many places nearly that serve great food for a better price to come back.

    (2)
  • Rachael B.

My husband and I order from a delivery service all the time, and I steered clear of ordering from Friends for awhile because people wrote some pretty bad reviews of the food. Delivery in and of itself can make hot food mildly warm and crunchy fries soggy, so I figured if the food wasnt good in the restaurant, no way it would be good being delivered. THEN this past weekend we were craving wings and no place on the delivery option with wings was open except Friends. And I am SO happy that was the case! We ordered from Friends and the wings, I thought, were delicious and while the portion size of the regular entrees we got werent huge and were, IMO, a little overpriced for the size of the plate, it was still yummy. Friends is NOT fine dining, but for standard "pub food" and wings, I found the food delicious. I will definitely be eating in house soon, and they will be my "go to" when ordering delivery service.

  • Laura H.

I want to like it, but just don't! The food is mediocre...on a good day! The service is no better. They seem to have a lot of trouble with turnover. The concept is nice, the location is great for me as I live literally on the same block, but they're not able to consistently pull off a good experience. One night, as we sat at the bar, they pulled out the mop bucket and literally mopped under our bar stools as we were finishing our drinks. REALLY???? I'm just praying that someone else comes along and opens up at the previous Olde Town Tavern location. Friends needs some competition if they are going to improve and win back my business.

    (2)
  • Brian K.

Although the staff is friendly and willing to provide a better dining experience for you; the same can not be said for their food. The wings were cooked well and a decent size, but the flavor was lacking (the sauce could hardly be tasted.) Ordered the full-size Nacho appetizer expecting a decent portion to share with a table of 4, especially at $9. This could hardly be called an appetizer, let alone a meal for one. The ingredients seemed as if they had been dumped onto a basket of tortilla chips.. something that could easily be prepared at home for half the price. The fries; however, were good and not too oily. Honestly, I'd recommend just going to the Taco Mac down the street if you're in it for the food.

  • Liz S.

I have always had great service here which sometimes surpasses the food. But everyone is so friendly and the owner always comes and talks to us. I think the prices are great! And I love the specials. Kids eat free, free ice cream for kids, beer specials, etc.

About TGI Friday

TGI Friday is a casual dining American restaurant chain founded in 1965. The term “TGI” is an acronym for Thank God It's and together the name of the restaurant is often announced as Thank God It's Friday. Over the years of its existence, the TV commercials and other advertisement streams have also twisted the phrase a bit and used it as Thank Goodness It's Friday. The restaurant serves alcoholic beverages primarily. However, they are also known for their low-carbohydrate and low-fat menu items to promote a healthy lifestyle. TGI Friday also offers gluten-free items on its menu for those with gluten intolerance.

Besides the cool name, TGI Friday also has an interesting background story of its origin. The founder of the restaurant Alan Stillman lived in a New York-based neighbourhood full of a young crowd, especially girls from the airline and fashion industry. He started the first TGI Friday restaurant in New York in the hope of meeting single women as there weren't any such public place for young men and women to meet. He invested $5000 on his own and borrowed another $5000 from his mother to buy a bar named The Good Tavern and renamed the premise to Thank God It's Friday, inspired from an expression during his time at Bucknell University.
