Hokkaido Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

This place is one of the most expensive buffets in Georgia priced at a little over $30 (including tax). Mainly seafood, this place provides a nice display for most of their dishes. Food is refilled quickly as soon is run out, except for the lobster, which a lot of people were waiting for to come out. They refilled the lobster at most twice in the two hours I was there. A lot of people like to compare this place to Nori Nori since the prices are about the same. Me personally I find Nori Nori to be better because they have more unique types of dishes, but not as many as this place. Hokkaido has a lot of dishes that are high quality but they are not served with a different recipe than other places. A good thing was that you can one of the chefs working behind the corner to modify a dish for you, and they will not mind; such as: blow torching the creme brulee more, or steaming the crab legs. There was an option of their sashimi as well as their assorted sushi. The desserts seemed to be the highlight of my trip with their creme brulee, tiramisu, and chocolate fountain. The Hibachi has good dishes that you can order quick instead of making your own dish. My waitress was very thorough picking up plates every 5 minutes as soon as I was done with them. A note: most of the food is not fried. The bad: its overpriced.

The restaurant was over price for the quality of the food. The customer service was not great. I don't know if I will be returning..

We stumbled upon this place by accident and I am happy that we did. The only reason why I did not give this place 5 starts is because they are pricey and I'm from Maryland, home of seafood, but will eat here again :)

Mediocre at best. Under seasoned on hot dishes, sushi rolls were rubbery. The nigiri was ok. Just went here because sushi avenue was too busy.

I strongly recommend this restaurant if you want a nice dinner on weekends. They only offer crabs as hot dish on weekends. I love Peking duck here, though not quite original as compared to Peking duck in Beijing because the chef cut it differently, you get the right flavor. My favorite weekend restaurant so far. Don't forget to try Japanese drinks there.

Best seafood buffet in Atlanta. Lots of variety, including lobster, oysters, shrimp, sashimi, etc. Some of the more expensive stuff will have people wait in line though. A lot of things that don't look good actually taste good, quite a pleasant surprise.

I came here when they first open and loved it, but since it's a little out of the way, I haven't been back since. $31.99 for AYCE seafood, hibachi, sushi, and Chinese food. Worth every penny. Im very picky when it comes to buffet food, but this place very good quality food. They use real crab & fish maw in the fish maw soup, good quality meats in the hibachi. They even have Peking Duck made to order! For desserts, there's Crème brûlée, flan, fresh fruits, and ice cream. Over all. Best Buffet around. Only if it wasn't so far away :( The service could be better though. I had to ask for a drink refill a couple times, and cleaned my own table and pushed the dirty plates to the end of the table for her to noticed them to take them away.

I wanted to try this place out because of their seafood selections and sushi. Plus I wanted to see which is better between Nori Nori. Nori Nori beats this in price, taste, and quality. Yes they have lopsters which are delishous and that was about it to me. The snow crab to me is typical...Nori however snowcrabs was not only huge, but FRESH! Same goes for their crayfish & crabs, not anywhere compare to Nori Nori "quality." The shrimps was good, sushi was okay. I paid $30 here and Nori $26.95, I'm sticking with Nori. Plus this place leans more towards a Chinese buffet than Japanese.

My friends and I went here for dinner. Now I had heard that it was supposed to be an upscale-like buffet course, and considering its $32+ per person I had assumed that the dishes would be worth the high price. I will preface this review by saying that if you are capable of eating large quantities of food and are not too highly concerned about quality but enjoy lots of variety, this is definitely the place for you. If you are like myself, cannot eat 3+ plates of food and are thus limited to what you can eat before feeling obnoxiously full and must choose wisely from subpar food to feel like you did not completely waste $32+ then this is definitely not the place to eat. That being said, there is a high variety of foods to select from here, ranging from sushi to creme brulee, all of which is plentiful. What I had the biggest problem with was the concept behind most of the dishes and the inattention to the little details that could easily make this restaurant from mediocre to close to being worth $32+. For example, they halved and overboiled lobster tails and then put cheese on top and further overcook it under a broiler. Although I understand that this is apparently a dish that is normal in Hong Kong, conceptually, lobster to me does not require broiled cheese, but rather it just needs to be cooked appropriately (not rubber) and then taken into consideration whether or not cheese should be applied to an already delicious lobster. The sushi and sashimi was low grade, texture is off-putting, the rice cold and over seasoned with vinegar, served en masse. Had I wanted sushi/sashimi/nigiri, I would've gone to a place where sushi was done correctly and paid them $32+ rather than attempt to eat some sashimi in a attempt to justify having spent $32+ dollars. Do not be fooled, although this restaurant is named a Japanese name, it has more Chinese/Hong Kong style foods. Their dessert section was also lacking any sort of quality control, more like a final bullet to seal off the food coma from all the food engorged in order to somewhat feel okay about having spent $32+ on mediocre food. The creme brulee for example is torched behind the buffet table, and then placed for consumption. This would be mildly impressive, however, when plunging the spoon to crack the typically glassy and beautiful caramel layer, my spoon made a dull thud. A creme brulee is meant to be enjoyed with a texture difference of nice little caramel shards and the creamy custard, but rather I just got a dull porridge of sugar on sugar that was mildly lukewarm on top and cold on the bottom. The only reason I did not rate this restaurant 1/5 stars was because of their roasted duck in steamed buns (or bao). Although it was not explicitly advertised, if one asks the employee/cook(?) behind the noodles and meat bar for the roasted duck with steamed buns, the man will carve a duck and then place it into a bun with assorted vegetables. This was indeed delicious. (but not worth $32+) I even would put the roasted pork belly into the bao, solely out of personal preference, and because I love bao. In conclusion and as I have been repeatedly saying, this was not worth $32+. I do not eat till I am stuffed to the rafters, but I would have had to do so in order to justify eating $32+ worth of food at that restaurant, Had they worked on paying attention to details on the little things and not so much on the mass variety of foods, this would possibly be worth paying $25 tops. If they are set on charging $32+ for food per person, they should consider doing much more quality control and paying attention to the minute details to make the quality from mediocre to worth engorging upon (such as spending some more time on cooking their expensive seafood correctly instead of producing expensive rubber.....with cheese)

First timer and definitely worth my money. The Peking duck and lobster only will cost more than $32 if ordering from a regular Chinese restaurant. Sushi was good but I like the hot dishes more. The hot entrees was more of a HK style and the noodle bar was also good. My past experience on asian buffets was the entree all taste the same and old. The food at Hokkaido was fresh and definitely worth the $$. To get more for your buck, it's best for someone that's into seafood.

I knew all about Hokkaido before stepping in the door, especially the price. That's one reason why I've never even tried to go to Nori Nori. The case with Nori Nori mainly is the sushi buffet. I've learn to like sushi but I'm not so much of a fan that I will travel that far for it. Plus there's no way I could convince my hubby to go that far for that reason. When I told him about Hokkaido and showed him the lobster pics that Hue T. posted. He was down to try it out. First of all, how many places offer lobsters on their buffet?? Not only that, Atlanta doesn't have many (or any) buffets that offers snow crab legs anymore either. If it's offered, it's additional, per pound. I don't love seafood but I sure do love me some shrimp! I've seen more variety at other Asian buffets but let's get real, the quality here is so much better. The flavors are on point! I tried to taste everything but didn't. I ended up overeating on the lobster, seafood udon, coconut shrimp, grill shrimp, and fried shrimp. I cannot repeat which sushi I ate but I did like it. Again, I'm not a huge sushi fan so I cannot compare it with other places. All I can say is that I really liked them and went back for fourths. According the some reviews and Yelp photos, there are macarons. But there was none when went. There was creme bruelee, flan, cookies, other desserts, along with the chocolate fondue We went in knowing it's $30/person. We ended up paying for 8 people total. Plus 20% tip, the ladies were attentive and worked hard busting their butts. Seriously. It's that good. I honestly think it's the best buffet out there for the flavor. Definitely a fan!

So, my perspective on this was place was that Hokkaido was suppose to better than Nori Nori. Eh, beauty is the eye of the beholder. Basically, I think this place is much more geared towards a chinese food palette with items like roasted pork belly, sea cucumber, abalone, and roasted duck. Whereas Nori Nori has more Japanese items and more Americanized asian-fusion. I would that this place has better Sushi but it's kind of far IMO. Otherwise, good food, definitely worth a try if you want to high quality sushi buffet.

Fantastic seafood buffet! There's ginger and scallion lobster, crawfish, crab legs, clams, scallops, and a huge assortment of sushi and sashimi. There's also frog legs, peking duck, and essentials like fried rice, dumplings and soups. It's a foodie's paradise. Not an ideal buffet for picky eaters. Only adventurous eaters.

You know those dishes that are off the menu at a standard chinese restaurant that can only be requested usually in advance or if you know what they are? This places basically has all of those plus sushi and dessert. From peking duck in a boa, beef noodle soup, abalone, hong kong style lobster, black bean oyster, that mayo honey deep fried shrimp usually served with broccoli and pecans, etc. That is on top of a selection of Japanese food from chicken katsu, tempura, octopus balls, sashimi, baby octopus, sushi selection, raw oysters and snow crab (fresh and big!) etc. And dessert is ice cream (green tea, chocolate, etc.), fruit covered in fondue chocolate. The place is very clean and the service is not bad considering it is a chinese restaurant. I enjoyed the selection and I know I am not the only asian to say that because half the people there were asian and that is saying something. Similar price to nori nori at $30 for dinner. I would mainly come back for the chinese selection than sushi to be honest as if I was craving sushi I would prefer nori nori as that is more sushi specific. Overall, I enjoyed the selection and experience and will be back if I crave good Chinese food and want a selection of choices. Its more worth it for me to go to a buffet than a normal chinese restaurant to get these dishes as we are just a household of 2.

Its good eating fo sure. I don't usually do buffet, but after seeing the pictures on buddy's FB, we decided to give this a go. There is a lot of food and a lot of variety. For lunch, we think the highlight is the nigiri sushi. Sizeable cut and good fish to rice ratio. The sushi is not too shabby. We sampled most of them and found the yellow tail, white tuna, snapper, tuna and tobiko to be very good. They do have salmon, tomago, ikura and rolls. Sushi ain;t all that shabby I kinda pigged out on the roast duck, peking duck, frog legs, roast pork and pepper shrimp. I would say, the chef in the back may be Chinese and they serve fresh out the oven roast duck. That is pretty impressive for a buffet. and if you like Oysters, they do have them here as well. Appears to be pretty fresh and of the gulf coast type.

The lobster and the Peking duck are great and probably the best among all of the Asian style buffet in Atlanta. The sashimi, sushi, and dessert are also very good. If you like Nori Nori, Hokkaido will definitely not let you down.

Hokkaido is a sushi/seafood buffet. But after my experience here, I would recommend not to have your expectation too high for the sushi here. If you come during a slow day, the sushi will be cold and not as fresh. ( I experienced this first hand). The dishes that made me a fan of this place would be: -Lobster (HongKong Style) -Scallops -Flan -Creme Brulee -cheesecake bites -Scallop noodles -Crab legs (you can ask them to steam it up if it's a slow day) -Raw salmon slices This place is a bit higher in price (29-30$) a person during dinner. It's comparable to Nori Nori in price and style. I liked this place because they offered Lobster in Hong Kong Style and Lobster claws. It made my 30$ worth it. And it seems like they bring out the lobster in a timely manner, unlike some place where they don't refill. Also, unlike Nori Nori, which now wouldn't steam up your crab legs, this place does. I like my crab legs hot, not cold. Overall, for the price and the quality of the foods here, I would come back! P.S. chocolate fountain is nice! :)

LOBSTERLICIOUS!!! Dayum! I went into a FOOD COMA for eating too much. Usually the words "Asian Buffet" means, "mediocre Chinese food and barely edible sushi for way too much money." Hokkaido is different. Acclaimed as a seafood buffet, Hokkaido offers a variety of different seafood selection, both cold and hot, not to mention the usual fare: endless piles of steaming Crab Legs, Oysters in the half-shell, Lobster, plates loaded with different types of Sushi/Sashimi Rolls, Crème brûlée, Tiramisu Flan Cake, and the obligatory miso soup. Some dishes are cooked to order, such as the Hibachi Grill, Peking Duck, and Udon Noodles. While others are ready to go on the streaming hot food bar. Mix-and-match is the name of the game. Dinner is expensive ($29.99) a person, but it's unlimited seafood, sushi, and so much more. Let's be serious. Think about how much more expensive it would be for you to actually buy separate pieces of Sashimi Sushi & how much more expensive would it be for you to get so many Crabs, Lobsters and Clams..UNLIMITED? Enuff' Said My Favorites are: - LOBSTER (Hong Kong Style) - Crab Legs - Sushi - Peking Duck - Hibachi Grill - Miso Udon Soup - Crème Brûlée - Tiramisu Flan - Ice Cream I have to be honest, I came here for the Lobster. I haven't been to any buffet that serves Lobster & from the pictures on Yelp it was indeed very mouth watering. My fellow Yelper didn't let me down. The Lobster was fresh & savory to the bone. The Sushi was fresh & diversified. The Peking Duck was full of flavors from the bun to the vegetable & back to the actual duck. For Dessert, I enjoyed the Crème Brûlée, Tiramisu Flan Cake, and Ice Cream. From the look of it, everything was very attractive so it's hard not to eat. I seriously think they have the best tasting Crème Brûlée & Tiramisu Flan Cake. Yes, and that means better than the ones at Chinese Bakeries. Overall, a great quality of Seafood, Sushi, & so much more. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is a seafood lover.

Very good Chinese buffet! The lobster and Peking duck are best! Best buffet in atl. however the peking duck is not that peking style, the real peking duck is grilled duck with lotus leaf pancake. but here is kindof gua bao, a Taiwanese food. but still very delicious. : ) guangdong lobster is very good but also a little bit hard to get.

I lived and worked in Japan for 3 years and yes, I am fluent in Japanese so I did have access to authentic Japanese food that locals and natives eat and are not as readily available to the tourists. Does this place have all that authentic Japanese food? Well, of course it doesn't have every single dish, yet what they have is very close. And they have a lot more Japanese food than those who claim to have Japanese food. The restaurant is clean, the buffet line is very clean, the presentation of each of the items including the sushi is clean and organized. Fellas, this is not your typical Chinese buffet that claims to have sushi. Umm no. If that's your standard of sushi, you need to reconsider. Overall I'm very happy with this place.

I came here for a group dinner on a random weekday night with a sizable group (14 people). We were seated and served quickly and the wait-staff were very attentive to our needs, quickly clearing dirty plates and refilling drinks. The restaurant was clean and spacious and well lit. I will say kudos for the food selection - a variety of sushi, hot foods (chinese dishes) and cooked to order options (peking duck, seafood udon, beef noodle soup). There were even crab legs and lobster offered. That being said, everything was a bit 'meh'. Granted, we did go on a random weekday night and the restaurant wasn't very busy. I imagine with a more crowded dinner service the food would turn over faster and be fresher. The lobster was strangely cold. The cooked to order service was extremely slow, and the beef noodle soup was more of a faux pho broth. The Peking duck looked like it had been sitting out under a heat lamp for the greater part of the evening, same with a lot of the hot foods. All in all, a standard buffet with a good selection, but maybe skip it on the slow nights...

Eh. There weren't many folks around when my group went here this past Friday evening for dinner around 7 PM. There was a good crowd, but it wasn't packed. There was mostly a sea of Asian faces. For $29.99 you can eat all the seafood you want. And if you order the tea, they charge you by the cup per person versus the pot as a whole. i.e. If 6 people orders tea, the 6 who ordered it will be charged. You can have unlimited amounts of tea though. It is a buffet after all. The lobster seemed to be the main attraction, but it wasn't stellar. Good but not awesome. But come on, it's a buffet... The quality won't be spectacular. The crawfish was okay. They were well sized, but there weren't much flavor to it. There were also the other typical seafood items such as mussels, scallops, squid, frog legs, etc. The sushi bar had a variety of sushi and sashimi to choose from as well. The fruits that night were sweet and tasty and was a nice finish to the overstuffed meal. Service was lacking this particular evening. There seemed to be a lot of confusion among the staff such as who ordered what. It took them forever to bring out the drinks and water. And when they did bring it out, they were missing a few. :/ Parking was plentiful since there wasn't a rush of people that came. Either way, Hokkaido was in a complex so parking was readily available.

For a buffet place, its great selection and quality wise. A bit pricey for my tastes but there are some expensive items on the buffet (crab legs, lobster claws, etc). Agreed that most of the sushi tastes the same. Also, the staff with nothing to do kind of just hover over you, and none of them speak english very well at all. I'd go back if i HAD to but prolly wont be my first choice. The coffee cream cake is a must try though, yum.

The lure of AYCE lobster was what beckon my tummy and I to go. I went with high recommendations from my mister's friends that it was pretty good but not really worth the drive...that should have been the red flag. It was pretty empty once we arrived, the place itself is pretty big and spacious. Basically your typical buffet set up with a sushi area that greets you once you walk up to the host stand. To your left is 4 rows of buffet that holds the HK style lobster...which literally they fill almost every 15 mins. The lobster didn't stand out. It was very tasteless. Seems like they just coated the flour and tossed it around the wok to make a weak attempt. This place focuses on a lot of seafood and lobster. The right side of the restaurant is your cold items: snow crab legs, lobster claws, oysters, jellyfish side (was pretty gritty), seawood salad, lobster meat and fruit salad, ceviche, conch salad, etc. They have a chocolate fountain, with many arrays of desserts, and with a ice cream machine. The only item that stood out for me was their creme brulee, I ate 3 of them myself. :) I think this place is more to try once and nothing more.

I was invited there to go to lunch on a Saturday. At first I was a bit hesitant because of the one star reviews on Yelp..but after reading them..one person said they don't like seafood, but still went to a seafood buffet...and complained there was not enough non seafood selection (even though it has a huge hibachi grill??). The other thought you would get all you can eat lobster for $16?? I'm sorry, but don't rate a restaurant one star because you don't have common sense. Like all buffets, my rating for them is based on context. For $16, can I eat the same, or more, of the quality and quantity of food at a regular restaurant? $16 can get you two simple rolls at a restaurant, and I definitely ate more than at Hokkaido! When my friends asked me how I liked Hokkaido, I said the quality and price is somewhere between Lobster House (the one in Alpharetta) and Nori Nori. I think Hokkaido fills a sweet spot... Yes, the selection is not as varied as Nori Nori, but Nori also charges $5 more for weekend lunch (30% more, if you want to look at it that way). I think this is the only place that had White Tuna for buffet, which is one of my favorite fish. Their crawfish is also fresh (the meat is white, not an off color like the other cheap buffets). Their hot food is really good. They had a steamed white fish which was seasoned and cooked perfectly. They had tempura shrimp..which a lot of lunch buffets usually don't offer. Their dessert selections was good...lots of fresh fruit, creme brulee, cheese cake, jello, ice cream, etc... If I had any cons... We got sat in a booth, which makes getting in and out a coordinate effort if you have more than two people. They didn't have low sodium soy sauce. They didn't have any clear signs on the sushi what their name, or the content was. It was written on the glass with a marker. Not a big issue because you can just look at it and tell what's inside, but may be confusing for people who are new to sushi. All in all, the inside atmosphere was good. Looks like newly renovated, spacious, clean. Food was great. Service was fine. Price is reasonable for lunch (I can't comment on dinner). Would I go back? Yes. I'm just happy it's not close to my house, otherwise I'd be there too often! I hope they can keep up the quality and price. The more buffet options around Atlanta the better :) P.S. On Sundays, their lunch menu = dinner menu so it would be $30, not $16.

I have been to this buffet three times now and every single time I did not get let down! The food there is well worth the money! My favorites there are the stir fried ginger scallion LOBSTER! yeah they have lobster all u can eat! They also have cold lobster but I'm not a fan of it. Then the salted crispy blue crab is good too. And finally the sushi is so fresh it's almost like fine dining sushi! Ok the reason in writing this review is mainly to compliment about their customer service. It was near closing time (only bc I had been there pigging out for over an hour) they ran out of salmon on the fresh bar, so as I was browsing around at the sushi items available left, immediately the manager came over and offered to see if I wanted anything else, I told him I was wanting some more sushi, and he quickly told his chef to make me some more. And sure enough I got me some more fresh salmon! I later went on the the desert side (after I had devoured the large portion of salmon that he so graciously offered) another worker asked if there was anything she could get me. All and all, I am highly impressed with the customer service, and the quality of food. I actually drive close to 30 minutes to come to this restaurant since I live all the way in morrow! But well worth the drive and I would recommend this place to anyone!

I was craving Crab and didn't want to go to Joe's Crab Shack cause you don't get enough crab. So when I saw that this place was only 2 miles from me I was happy! This is a big place a hidden Gem if you like crab and Lobster. It's $30 per person but worth it. They refilled and refreshed items very quickly and it was clean no spills or messes around the steam tables. Crab was very fresh and flavorful, I loved the Hong Kong style crab mmmm. The pineapple grilled shrimp was delicious. The staff is very tentative sometimes a little stalker like, maybe it was because where my booth was but the waitress literally stood over my booth behind me as if waiting to clear plates lol, they kept your drinks refilled too! The only thing I really didn't care for was the fried calamari its rubbery another negative was the 1st plate I grabbed off the stack to serve myself, the plate was dirty so I had to get another plate. Overall when I have a taste for seafood and I have $30 to spend lol This will be my spot .

This place is great and a good alternative to back-sliding Nori Nori. I have to say my lunch experience was pretty great. The food appears to be more geared towards traditional Asian crowd. Heavy on seafood and pork. Offerings such as steamed black bean oysters, roasted pork, and salt & pepper shrimp were all present. I must admit the oysters were a very pleasant surprise. :) Sushi was also available and plentiful. Rolls and nigiri were present. I really like the presentation of the sushi. Not sure if this is only a lunch thing, but the sushi was set out in small batches, but they constantly replenish. This is good to keep things fresh, especially during slower times. Sasihmi salads and seaweed salad was also set out in abundance. Nori Nori, take notes and stop it with the stupid plastic shells! Overall, great experience. Food was awesome. Lunch only costs $15.99, a bargain considering the type of food you get. Rumor has it Cantonese-style stir fried lobster is served in the evenings! I can't wait to bring my parents for dinner.

Overall, this is not a pretty good buffet. I would not go here for the sushi though. Most of the sushi roles are the same type of roll. Its a crunch roll with a different topping. There is a good amount of lobster though. And thats what I would go for. They do replace it pretty often. There is alot of other shrimp seafood. The dessert bar is good. There is a hibachi. Overall its pretty good seafood buffet. I wouldn't go for the sushi only.

Amazing price for the type of food you get. The lobster and sashimi go quick so you should wait by the bar when you see it coming out. The later it is, the easier it is to get yoself some delicious lobster. There's also crawfish and crab legs while you wait for the sashimi and lobster. Gotta get the most out of yo $$ The fish they use on their sushi rolls taste different from the ones they put out on the sashimi plate. Definitely forego the rolls and wait for the sashimi Finish the night off with their flan, creme Brule, and chocolate fondue...so romantic. Their soft serve green tea ice cream wasn't that good. The strawberry one is better though. From a cost perspective I ate a close to the $30 worth if not more just from the seafood and sashimi.

I heard this was comparable to nori nori, but it's not. We went here to try out the new buffet in town with a large group for a birthday get together. Just on a random Monday night for dinner, so it was not very crowded. There was not a lot of selection on anything. Not a lot of selection on sushi, salads, meat, noodles ect. I heard there were lobsters but it was not being replaced very often so I didn't see it. The crab legs were cold, it would have been nice if it was warm or steamed. Food quality overall was "ok." It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. I usually get too full trying out all the dishes at a buffet before I try the soup. But since there wasn't much to select from, I had plenty of room for soup. And the one that I have to make a note about was the hot and sour soup. I don't know what it was but it was more like plain water, no flavors, not even sour! It costs just as much for dinner as Nori Nori, so I would rather go there.

Food was great.. They have way more selections than Nori Nori .. Clean and they replenish the food fast.. No problems with getting crab legs.. No long lines for me on a Saturday dinner time of 8pm. They have Chocolate fountain, creme brûlée .. Just to name a few. Fresh oysters, lobster Chinese style, clams in sake and ginger, Peking duck, roast pork, craw fish.. The list goes on ..and on .. This place is a must try.. I drove 1 hour just to eat there .. Service is good too, they clean away your plates promptly ..

While all the food here looks and tastes fresh, the handling of the food must not be very clean. Out of 6 people in our group, 3 people went home with stomach issues, including me. Maybe it was the raw oysters, maybe the sashimi, we're not sure. I would have given 4 stars if I didn't go home sick. And the only thing I wished was better is if they had hot crab legs and hot lobster, but most was chilled.

Hokkaido is definitely worth the price. For $30, they have all you can eat seafood (oysters, Hong Kong style lobster, snowcrab legs, crawfish, lobster claws, sushi, sashimi, hibachi, and bbq - roast pork, bbq duck, peking duck, quail, and noodle soup). The food is pretty decent quality, but not top-notch since it is a buffet, so that's why I gave the restaurant four stars. But the range of food they offer is pretty amazing. I would never go back to Nori Nori or any other high-priced Asian buffet again - definitely sticking to Hokkaido! I would recommend going on a weekday, so you don't have to wait too long for lobster and snowcrab legs, or better yet, going from 5pm to 6:30pm on a weekend. People don't really start coming in until after 6:30pm. For the snowcrab and lobster claws, they serve it cold, but if you take it to the soup section of the restaurant, they will steam it for you.

A nice selection of good-quality seafood. Sushi, sashimi, raw oyster, snow crab, lobster, Peking roast duck, premium shark fun soup... you name it. Lobster is good but you must be fast because it will be gone literally within 1 min. Creme brûlée is my favorite.

Delicious but way overpriced!! Rude women at the front and ridiculous policy on prices for a child to eat. My 10 year old was charged adult price because he was over 5 feet tall. (Which looked like it was short measured by the way) horrible service. SAVE YOUR MONEY FOR A PLACE WORTH IT such as Nori Nori.

Typical Chinese buffet where every dish regardless of ingredients effectively tastes exactly the same. Sushi was fresh and prepared very average. Crab was good, Lobster a disaster - overcooked and over seasoned. Nothing special or of value here. Move along.

Overall the food was OK. My main issue is the cost compared to other all-you-can-eat places with similar spreads. The main draw to give it a shot and pay $32 per person was Lobster and Snow Crab. The Lobster was OK (ginger seasoned), but it got pounced on very quickly and it was hard to get anything but the difficult to eat pieces (hard to dig out of shell) because the big pieces are gone as soon as they are put out. The Snow Crab was good quality, but served cold. I prefer hot with garlic butter - but that's just me. The sushi was OK as well, but just a little better than Hot-and-Cold Buffet down the street. I probably won't return, not a good value.

Honestly sub par palate is what is ruining decent places to eat in this neck of the wood. On a sweeter note, they now have French Macarons for dessert, no they're not made from sweetened coconut flakes and condensed milk.

Decent but not spectacular. Good local choice, not worth 20 min+ drive. They do have lobsters, oysters, and sashimi, but everything is rather mediocre. Nigiri sushi was of an ordinary buffet quality, and the ambiance was a bit too casual for the price. I saw many people in T-shirt, shorts, and sandals, and parents who let their undisciplined children run around the restaurant as if they were on a playground. It was not bad by any means, but for $30/person in Snellville, I expected something better. I went on a Friday night. At 8pm it was rather crowded. By 9pm it was much less crowded.. If you are in the area or too far away from Buford Highway, this is not a bad choice. Just don't buy the hype and build up too high of an expectation. It was slightly disappointing for me, after reading the rave reviews on Yelp.

I came here around 8:30PM, about a hour and a half before closing. They are a seafood/sushi buffet. I love their sushi, especially the volcano and Hokkaido Special. They serve lobster and crab legs cold, unless you ask them to steam it and they are gladly to. The servers are very nice. The price is 30$ a person during dinner time.

Quality food for the price. It's probably one of the best all you can eat sushi and seafood I've ever had. I typically don't like AYE but I don't mind going to this one since the quality of the food is good. They have all of my favorites: lobsters, snow crabs, clams, scallops, sashimi, crawfish, and many many more. I wish I have more room to eat. There are so many choices and it tastes amazingly delicious. We came with a group of 25 people and not a single complaint. Everyone enjoyed it. They've been opened for 6 months. The place is cleaned and nicely decorated. It's spacious so you will be seated right away. The flan is soooo good.

Very Expensive. I love trying different foods, but I guess my tastes are too American. Probably too authentic for me. Didn't find much I was really in too. Even my stand by, crab legs were served cold and not warm.

Heard about this place for all you can eat lobsters. Normally I'm not expecting much from buffet dishes, and I was surprised. The majority of their seafood are pretty good and they have lobsters coming out every 5~10 minutes, they make sure all the customers can have as much lobsters as they want. Sashimi is another reason that I like Hokkaido. They are freshly cut and have more varieties than most of other sushi buffets. They also have more desserts and fruits than most of buffets. However, they have very very limited vegetable dishes. Vegetarian probably couldn't find anything to eat in there.

The food is slightly below average for the cost. The buffet provides a variety of your seafood favorites from crab legs to lobster. Sushi to sashimi is fresh. Some of the hot food r cold. Price is base on height so if u have a tall 10 year old prepare to pay for adult price. Dessert overall was the best thing in the buffet. Lastly the restaurant could have better decor.

Do not waste your money or time. I came in at 2:50pm on a Friday. Presumably the were very slow. They allowed me to check out out before eating and I decided to stay - I wish I had not. There is a seemingly sweet female "manager" who tried to be helpful when I asked about the origins of the raw oysters. That was the LAST interaction I had at the restaurant until I walked to the cashier station at 3:40pm. His only words were my total of $19.07. Not once was I asked if I wanted a refill on my water or hot tea. Not once was I asked if I was enjoying the food - so since they didn't ask me during my dining experience I'll share here. Though the presentation of the food was thoughtful it all tasted the same. Low quality, left out to fester. I tried a good bit of the sea food having to spit out the muscles and clam into a napkin or I think I would have gotten sick at the nasty texture and flavor from sitting too long. I looked forward to the craw fish but it had sat so long I couldn't get the meat out of the tail. Three words describe my experience:gross, gross, gross. Don't waste your money and time!

Excellent seafood buffet! The sushi selection was fresh and innovative- lots of different types to try. The cold appetizers were also fresh and tasty, loved the calamari salad. Crab legs, lobsters, oysters all fresh and delicious. The fried food was perfectly cooked and not greasy at all. I kept going back to the buffet over and over! Pricey but totally worth it. I would come back and bring friends to share.

the food there is very mouthwatering and delicious. it has the freshest seafood you can find in town. the smell of the sea overtakes your sense as soon as you walk in the door. you will find the best lobster, fish, sushi, crab legs, and other great seafood ever. this place is defiantly a must for seafood lovers and even if you are not a seafood lover you still have to try it out.

I feel as though I should warn people about this place before they waste their valuable time and money here. Even if the price was competitive with other Asian-style buffets, the food would still be sub-par. Now, factor in the ridiculous price tag, and now you have very, very expensive bad food. I got physically ill from the low-quality oysters, and the made-to-order soup had a broth reminiscent of old dishwater. Three of us came for lunch expecting the fresh variety of seafood mentioned on their postcard advertisements from the mail; no where does it mention that lunch doesn't include lobster and crab. Even the atmosphere needs a complete makeover; old carpet, no music, etc.

Went back the 2nd time within a month on a friday and do see how this place has fallen out of rank. The food quality is inconsistent and received by far one of the worst service ever. I was wrong for giving thisbplace such high rank. By the way, they no longer serve the lobster delicacy....so this alone would drives me back to nori nori. Overall, this experience was a dud and i now understand why others didnt enjoy 5his place.

It's too bad. They don't have any lobster tail in the buffet. They just have lobster legs in the cold bar. Dessert is extremely bad. It's worse than a 6.99 hibachi buffet. Sushi has a lot of kinds, but looks old.

Little bit pricey and since it's not very crowded, the food quality could be better. But the Hibachi grill was pretty good and although they didn't have a lot of selection, the seafood was on point. Also the dessert was bomb. their creme brulee was delicious

2 of the 3 times I ate here were birthday dinners, all on Saturday nights. The variety of tables makes it good for either just one or 20. Weekend dinner here is the talk of town. For $30 you have all the seafood you want... Lobster, sashimi, sushi, hibachi, etc. It also serves decent Hong Kong style BBQ, including roast pork, crispy pork, bbq duck, and also the famous Peking duck. The skin is actually crispy, which makes it even better than some of the so-called Cantonese restaurants on Buford Highway. One of the surprisingly good eat here is actually the dessert. Some yelpers complained about the creme brulee not burnt enough. You can actually request the dessert maker to burn it darker for you. Every time I eat here I get at least 3 creme brulees. For lobster, my tip is to stand in front of the emptied plate and wait for fresh ones to come out. If you are shy, you will probably never see any lobster meat. And if you see me around, then good luck getting any lobster.

Woah disappointment. It was not money well spent. I went in for a weekday dinner costing $32/person. You walk in and the design is a slightly better than a cheap Asian buffet. The staff while mostly friendly were very unprofessional. The waitress wasn't friendly, the hostesses were occupied with reading or phone playing, and the sushi chef guy wasn't friendly. BIGGEST COMPLAINT is that they put out so little sashimi and sushi that you're waiting for it like you're waiting for a sample at Hmart. I paid $32 to wait?? I understand waste control but they put out about 5-10 slices of 6 different sashimi. While that may sound like a lot, this is for the whole restaurant. Their oysters were not fresh and neither was the lobster. They put out b/t 3-7 pieces per roll type and many of them weren't fresh. You feel bad taking what you want b/c you have to leave some for the guy behind you. The cooked foods selection is decent but it's a sushi buffet so the focus is on the wrong place. They have a grill and a noodle soup station. Their desserts were weak. They have all the typical fruit but for a $32 dinner their pastries were lacking. They had 3 cakes, some flan, and some random baked things. They have 4 ice cream selections but 2 were broken. The green tea tastes just like the strawberry/banana flavor on the adjacent lever. Overall, this place was a disappointment on several levels. I would not recommend this place.

WARNING - this place is massively overpriced at $29.99 for a very typical asian buffet and sushi. My wife and I stopped by for dinner and were stunned at the $65.00 check as just a few weeks ago this place had a different name, but similar buffet food. Yes, the menu is more exotic, but for $30/person I don't expect to have to go get my own food, I want to be waited on for that price. I had iced tea and my wife had water to drink and our bill was $65.74. Save your money and time. It's a huge ripoff.

For buffet wise, it's a pretty good choice if u like lobster. Oyster is alright, not as fresh, their lobsters and crabs are awesome tho. Basically two styles. Either serve as cold or the the stir fried Chinese style which both are very delicious!

Move along.

  • Wes C.

After reading reviews about how Hokkaido shines during busy days I still insisted on trying it out on a Thursday. (Which is a whole hour away from where I live. So I had high expectations) .When we got there it was fairly quiet and only one other family was there eating. Atmosphere was very warm and comfortable. The place was very modern and the selection of the buffet was beautiful everything looked so good! Upon trying the food I was disappointed when the sushi tasted very stale, the seaweed had become chewy and the rice was hardening. The sashimi was dry and looked like a plastic slice of fish. The oysters were small, dirty, and milking. I was about to give up at that point. It seemed as though all of the food on the colder chill side was pretty bad. The warmer food was decent but I could still taste how long it sat there for. Although as we kept eating luckily more families showed up and the food was coming out fresh. The freshly made sushi was so delicious! The fish was moist and the product was just refreshing, I was so pleased with that one bite it honestly made the whole night better. But sadly my stomach was at its limit with the stale food I ate earlier. The perks of being the only few people in there was that we had unlimited crab legs and literally that's what my boyfriend ate the whole time. Our waitress was very sweet in a timid way. She didn't say much or do a whole bunch but it was very humble in a way. My bill came up to be around $65 for two adults and a soft drink. Expensive! But I was warned and came to eat on a slow day anyways. So my fault there. If you're thinking of eating here go on a busy day! When Food is fresh. They are capable of the freshness but it won't show if there's not enough people unfortunately.

This is the best buffet dinner i have eaten so far. The food is so fresh, definitely real materials made and very delicious; not as salty as others. The desserts are awesome. The serving is great and nice. However, not so many people get in to, I think that's because the location is far away from center city and not easy to find. My friend who is a professional Japanese restaurant's boss said that's really worth for the price, even it's 30 per person. Anyway, the quality is preferential, isn't it? so I will see you next time with my empty stomahch.

Decided to check this out. Place was very nice. I enjoyed the lobster claws and snow crab legs. A little bit salty but still tasty. They plenty in stock unlike Nori Nor I where they barely bring any out and limit to you to a few legs at a time. There was a nice variety of sushi as well. I really enjoyed their frog legs, it was very tasty. Service was very nice. Crowds wasn't very much on a Wednesday night, so def. A lot less busy then nori nori. I def will try it again. The ice cream was very tasty, I loved the mango flavor. They had fresh fruit including cherries in which that's the first time that I seen cherries in a buffet. It is a bit far up in Snellville but I think most people go by word of mouth.

After reading a full page of interview from the Chinese local paper, MM and I decided to see if the restaurant was as good as the chef claiming to on the paper. The chef claimed that she loves the Chinese cuisine and wanted to have a restaurant of her own. So her family and her opened up the seafood buffet restaurant in Snellville. She said that she liked the delicacy of the small dishes instead of the a huge buffet style. That's the whole reason that make me drive 45 minutes to give it a shot in hoping to have a good quality seafood Buffet. Well I have to say I am disappointed with the restaurant. To be fair the food there were fresh and the decoration was nice. Compare to Nori Nori the qualify of the food was very similar. But it had less varieties than Nori Nori. The servers were very attentive. They cleaned out the dirty dishes quickly and possessed a pleasant attitude. The lunch price $15.99 actually was pretty reasonable. They served sushi, crab legs, frog legs, clams... A good varieties of selections. The sushi was very mediocre like Nori Nori. A lot if rice wrapped around some fish. I think they try to fill you up with the rice quickly . MM liked the pork rib. The short ribs were hard to chew. So I gave a bite and I can't even cut it with my teeth. So I left the whole thing on the plate. The crab legs were fried and tasty. That's the only dish I went back more than once. Their dessert bar had flan and Crème Brùlèe. Compare to the buffet quality, they were good. Overall, I would not go back again especially for the distance. For dinner, the do have live lobster -Chinese style cooked with ginger and different spices for $29.99 all you can eat.

Well let me start off by telling the price since I couldn't find a website for this place. The dinner buffet is $30 and I believe the lunch buffet is $18. Fellow Yelper Shady B. and I were on a quest for some good sushi. I have been on a sushi kick this weekend. However, the dilemma was we didn't want to go far and we live in Lawrenceville/Snellville so our options were limited. We stopped by one sushi place, but we ended up at Hakkido knowing the price beforehand. We came in for sushi, but we left a fan because of their warmer items. The sushi was pretty good quality wise, but I feel that Nori Nori has better quality sushi. However, this place has lobster! And crab legs! And lots of amazing shrimp, scallops, oysters, and other types of seafood that I actually just tried for the first time. Their sashimi selection was excellent. If there is a fish you're craving, they probably have it. I tried octopus and calamari that hasn't been fried. They had eel sauce and spicy mayo for your sushi. They also had hibachi, but we didn't try their hibachi. One of my favorite dishes that they have is the Shrimp Udon. They also had warm conch and their coconut shrimp was amazing. There were lots of dishes here that I loved! I think the $30 is well worth it for those items. If you're just coming for sushi, I wouldn't recommend it, but for everything combined the experience is well worth it. For dessert, their creme brulee was awesome and they have the tiramisu cakes that all the buffets have as well as flan. We were so full we only took a couple of bites of dessert, but be sure to save room because their desserts are awesome too!

  • Jake W.

Very Expensive. I love trying different foods, but I guess my tastes are too American. Probably too authentic for me. Didn't find much I was really in too. Even my stand by, crab legs were served cold and not warm.

We made the 45-minute drive yesterday to Hokkaido; and I have to say, this is my favorite buffet so far. I thought most of their stuff was very delicious and not at all generic like other buffets. My favorite was definitely the spicy crab legs, the crème brulee, and the flan. For a Friday night, there weren't too many customers, but I am sure this is due to the location. If they were located elsewhere, this place would definitely be a hit. The staff was also very accommodating. They're happy to heat up your crab legs, torch your crème brulee, and whatever else you might like. In my opinion, Hokkaido is better than Nori Nori and definitely much better than Tokyo Bay.

Best seafood buffet in Atlanta. Lots of variety, including lobster, oysters, shrimp, sashimi, etc. Some of the more expensive stuff will have people wait in line though. A lot of things that don't look good actually taste good, quite a pleasant surprise.

Waaaaaaay too expensive! Lots of sushi and seafood choices which is what I know many people like. But I don't, and the other choices are a little sparse. I definitely did not get $30 worth! Food on the bar was not hot. No chicken choices. Only fried rice, no white rice.
