I first had Happy Belly at Music Midtown in 2012. I was impressed with the food and their ability to handle the crowds. Next, Happy Belly rolled into the parking lot at an office building near mine in Alpharetta, so my colleagues and I drove over to check it out. I got the Stuffed Shrimp Roll, which was very good. Pros: It had a generous portion of shrimp dressed with a slightly spicy remoulade sauce on a delicious HF bun. Cons: The dressing made the bun fall apart, and it was a bit salty for my taste (which is saying a lot). Also, their credit card processor was not working; thankfully we all had cash to pay for our food. Overall, I have enjoyed the food I've gotten from Happy Belly. Their staff is friendly, the service is fast, and I applaud their commitment to give 5% of the proceeds to the Boys and Girls Club. I hope they'll keep coming to office buildings OTP, as we certainly need the change of pace up here.

I took a visit to the Arts & Craft Festival in Piedmont Park to see what type of sh*t on a stick I would trade my hard-earned money for. As I was perusing the offerings from all the traveling peddlers I became a bit peckish. All I saw was craptastic food stands, offering frozen lemonade, corn dogs and funnel cakes. I thought to myself: is it possible that the planners of this festival could be so far out of the loop that they still allow these subpar food stands to have a monopoly on my mouth!? I resisted and persevered, I knew in my heart of hearts that there had to be food trucks here. I would not be relegated to the ranks of a carnival style grease stand!! Good things come to those who wait... As I rounded the bend I spotted Mecca. A smattering of food trucks, in all their glory. I rejoiced (secretly) and pat myself on the back (again: secretly) for my good decision. I used the miracles of modern technology, read: yelp App, to dodge the bullet that the "mixd up" truck seems to be. I selected this very beloved Happy Belly. Once again I pat myself on the back. WRONG!!!! I doubled down one to many times. I bet black and the cards turned up red. I ordered the Happy Hippy Beet Salad Iced Tea Issues: Happy Hippy: Dressed Arugula? Nope. Just Arugula. The dressing would have been critical since you already had sweet (roast pepper), bitter(arugula), salty (cheese), umami (mushroom). Where is the sour? This sandwich really needed some acid to balance it out. Yet mine didn't get any dressing... hence so sour. Let me also mention that the kaiser roll that it comes on is an absolute bore. It was a big golden cloud of nothing. Beet Salad: This was ok. I loveeee beet salads. I love them almost as much as the Patty Mayonnaise's band mates nutritionfor.us/2011/09/… This one just seemed so incomplete. It was just as if they plopped a little feta on top of some beets and that was it. Supposed to have celery but I didn't find any. All in all the meal was about 3 stars. The guy who took my order was super friendly. However when I weigh the quality of the meal, which just felt and little bland and under-prepared, versus the 15+ dollars that is cost me, 2 stars is the penalty.

This is great food truck with some great food choices. We had the Kale Salad which has a great apple dressing which is very light. The burger is made fresh from brisket & short ribs. The fries are fresh cut & lightly seasoned. I would recommend this truck for some great food...

I had the chance to try Happy Belly last night at the renewed Atlanta Food Truck Park. My dad & I were wandering around checking out all the options & this one jumped out at us first. He got the "Blazing Burger" with sauteed onions & house made ancho chili sauce. The patty was a mix of brisket & short ribs. He seemed to really enjoy it & even commented that they cooked it to his liking. I got the "happy hippie" which was a portabello mushroom with gouda, roasted red peppers, & field greens. The mushroom itself was very vinagery, but I liked it. As I've said, I'm not a huge meat eater, so it's nice to have a vegetarian option. One of the guys working outside the truck was very helpful in explaining the menu. And the hippie in me likes the organic, sustainable part of their cooking.

Good stuff. The chicken sandwich was good, the bread was fresh. Had the brussel sprouts - really good sauce on them. The fries are handcut and taste great. The shrimp roll was good but not as good as the rest - too many onions which covered the taste of everything else.

Happy Belly Truck came to Everybody Loves Music at The Westminster Schools! The "One for the Kipper" salad was absolutely FABULOUS! Great customer service! Can't wait for them to come back next year!

My BF and I came to food truck Tuesday with a group of friends, such a great event. There are several food trucks with a huge variety of cuisines. We looked through all of the food trucks and decided on happy belly since they use a green egg. We have a green egg at home and it makes all of our food delicious. Not the case with this place. The food was completely bland and tiny. We paid $22 for a burger and a chicken sandwich. The burger was tiny, very thin and only cheese, no veggies, no sides. I had the chicken sandwich and the chicken was paper thin, zero flavor, I liked the arugula, but the sauce was basically mayo and on a stale ciabatta roll. Not a fan. We left feeling hungry and pretty ripped off. We will be back to food truck Tuesday, but not to this truck. Avoid!!

Before even trying Happy Belly I was raving about it to people. I mean, have you seen the menu? Amazing! My excitement dwindled when I tried the food, unfortunately. Beet salad is good. Great, even. Chicken sandwich. Blaaaaah. Came cold. How is that even possible? It came right off of the truck. So much bread and very little inside. Couldn't have guessed it was made on a Green Egg. And didn't taste super fresh. Again how is that possible? I don't know. Expensive for what it was. Kids grilled cheese. The apples come inside of the sandwich. My daughter wouldn't eat the sandwich. Maybe sticking with apples on the side would be a safer bet for the littles than grilling them in. I did, however, appreciate the effort to make it different and add a healthier element. I just had too high of expectations maybe. We ended up hitting up another truck because we just weren't feelin it. Keep your expectations way in check when ordering from Happy Belly. And maybe stick with the salads.

This food truck is all about the green egg -- and I love all things smoked. Highly recommend their vegetarian sandwich. Their menu does seem to change weekly when they visit the Galleria on Tuesdays. TREE HUGGER'S DELIGHT (vegetarian) - $7.87 One of the best vegetarian sandwiches I've ever had. FYI this is not a burger. Marinated portabella mushroom cap, smoked shallot, roasted red pepper strips, pesto, arugula and melted gouda on H&F ciabatta bread. Definite green egg scent. I could've eaten two. NINJA SMOKE - -$7.41 Cool name, cool description -- but to me it just tasted like a pulled pork sandwich with sweet BBQ sauce and red cabbage slaw. The menu description read "Big Green Egg smoked pork shoulder, Chinese five spice rub, hoisin-honey bbq sauce, ponzou slaw, H & F white wheat bun." At least they piled on the pork. THE GEORGIAN BURGER - $8.33 "Big Green Egg grilled grass-fed short rib brisket hamburger, sweet Vidalia onion relish, Ancho chili dressing, cheddar cheese and H&F white wheat bun." Tasted good but I wanted a stronger smoked flavor -- also missing the onion relish, and wish the burger had some veggie toppings esp. for $8.33. Also shocked that fries aren't included but that seems to be the norm for food trucks -- but $4.33 for fries??!! BRUSSELS FOR MUSCLES - $5.55 You'll probably love this if you're a brussels sprouts fan -- they're fried and drizzled with Thai-citrus chili sauce. Good portion size too but you'll want to share this b/c it's kinda greasy. I enjoyed the first couple bites but that was enough for me. Yep get the vegetarian sandwich :)

I hear so much about the amazingness of Food Trucks. It's a new movement! It's super-food on wheels. It's the best moving delicacies! So I finally tried my first food truck at a festival. The "local, organic, healthiest food truck" slogan caught my attention so I tried Happy Belly. Happy Belly was started by a couple who couldn't find any healthy foods when they eat out. So they started their own healthy foods. 5% of their proceeds goes to Boys & Girls Clubs to help prevent childhood obesity. I tried the chicken sandwich and it was amazing! It came with gouda cheese and ciabatta bread. The chicken is free-range and it also has aioli sauce . My friend Jonathan got the Georgia Peach. I liked the pulled pork on this one, but the peach sweetness with the pulled pork wasn't my favorite. However, my chicken sandwich was 5 stars. Amazing! The chefs were awesome and man manning the window was really nice even when they were slammed and busy.

Food truck convert! I've heard all the yelpers saying food truck this and food truck that and thought they're crazy. Well - the yelpers are right! Food: The Portabella mushroom sandwich is yummy! The mushroom is cooked perfectly with a big thick slice of melted cheese on it. They need to switch to a better roll though. Second time I ordered bun disintegrated in my hands. I've tried a few of the other food trucks out there and this one is one of my favorites. I wish it came with a side though. The salad you got as an add on was not worth it.

I was totally pumped when I found out that my company is getting us burgers for lunch ... Happy Belly Truck was the food of choice, and I was quite anxious for all these delicious free burger to get into my belly ... that is ... up until i had my burger ... Granted that there was a mob of us outside the truck, they got my order all kinds of wrong. They removed the bleu cheese and put bbq sauce which is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what I wanted. Then, the bacon was just straight soggy ... It was like steamed bacon... and in the words of Jimmy Fallon - EW. The burger also tasted like it was steamed... the patoto chips were stale and greasy, and there was really nothing great on my plate. Now, I am not going to put a complete one star for this establishment, but at the same time, I truly was not happy with the way my food came out - but Im still grateful it was free :)

Simply the best salad I have ever had. Forget the Gipper! This is all about One for the Kipper. Perfection in flavors and textures.

Food trucks and brussel sprouts are two of my favorite things. I've now encountered a food truck that serves brussel sprouts--my life is complete. My mom, sister and I go to The Yellow Daisy Festival every September. As with any festival, food is questionable---mostly fried, greasy, and gross. I try to eat paleo most of the time, so I was thrilled when I came across the Happy Belly Food Truck at Yellow Daisy. I ordered the pork sandwich, sans bun. In hindsight, this was an incredibly smart decision, as there was so much meat it never would have stayed on a bun (as evidenced by my dad's struggle with his as a sandwich)! The pork was topped with a honey mustard coleslaw and a peach chutney, and it was...awesome. The brussels were super crispy, with a delicious sauce on top. The service was a bit slow, but they were dealing with a high demand at a large festival. I imagine in a different setting the service might have been quicker. Bottom line? I left with a very happy belly indeed.

Happy Belly is one of the food trucks that rolled into Alpharetta for the Vintage Corks & Gourmet Trucks event. Unfortunately, by the time we placed our order they had sold out of the special "sample" dish for the wine pairing. That's a shame because it sounded really tasty; a pumpkin risotto or somesuch thing. This might have been a mixed blessing, however, because it necessitated that we order off the standard menu. So we got a better feeling for what the typical Happy Belly experience is like outside of a special event. This truck promotes itself as "farm to street" which is clever. They mostly use organic, locally sourced ingredients. I really like this concept because ordering something that originated from local farms makes me feel better about the quality of ingredients and about supporting local business owners. I ordered The Urban Caveman which is a fairly simple dish consisting of butternut squash and free-range chicken. Very seasonal and fresh. It's one of those dishes that shines in its simplicity and allows the quality ingredients to really stand on their own merit. Honestly it is the polar opposite of the kind of food you would typically expect from a truck. In this case that's a good thing. Instead of making customers shout an order up into a window, one of the staff members stood outside the truck and took orders. I like this ordering system because it was more efficient and personable than trying to communicate with someone inside the vehicle. It was definitely the best customer service experience from all of the trucks I visited during the event. Prices for entrees range between $8-$10. This seems a bit steep at first blush but considering the high quality, locally sourced ingredients, I think it's reasonable. If given the opportunity I would order from Happy Belly again.

Friendly and inviting place; unfortunately not suitable for vegans *************** I decided to check out Happy Belly for lunch when the truck was stationed at my workplace. As a vegan, I had expected at least an option or two since they promote special dietary offerings including vegetarian and paleo. The employee I spoke with was very friendly and helpful (hence the four star rating), but unfortunately when I inquired about which options could be made vegan there wasn't anything worth ordering. Fries were available but the special sauce contained eggs, and the veggie burgers could be made without cheese but they were unsure if the buns contained dairy or eggs. It seems that vegan options would be a natural fit for this truck - if they ever alter their selection to be accommodating I will happily give them my business.

Just as I was about to lose faith in the whole food truck trend, Happy Belly comes into my life! It's without a doubt the best one I've experienced thus far. It was on my radar because a friend mentioned that he had recently begun employment with Happy Belly and that he was really quite impressed with their quality of ingredients; and after eating the food, I have to say I'm in complete agreement. I ordered the 'Ninja Smoke' sandwich (smoked pork in a hoisin-honey BBQ sauce, topped with ponzu slaw on H&F buns) and the Kale Waldorf Salad (kale, blue cheese, apples, applewood bacon, golden raisins) - needless to say (especially with those descriptions), they were both delicious. DELICIOUS. I truly was surprised by just how much I enjoyed both dishes. The smoked pork was so flavorful, so tender - it was borderline perfect, and the salad was probably one of the best salads I've ever had. Every aspect of it worked deliciously together and if you managed to get it all in one bite...just yum, the perfect bite. I found the menu to be pretty affordable, especially I'm comparison to other food trucks - the entrees range from $8-$10, the sides are around $5, the menu also includes a "Kids" section (quotations because the offerings sound good to me!), and all those items are just under $6. It's just icing on the cake that most of their ingredients are organic and locally sourced - they've even dubbed themselves a "food to street" food truck.

The Happy Belly Food Truck is one of four or five food trucks that come on a rotation to my Ravinia office park in Dunwoody during the work week. I've grabbed lunch from some of the other food trucks in the past, but had never gotten lunch from the Happy Belly Truck until this week. I ordered the Georgian Burger which was the first item listed on their menu. This was my first experience eating food prepared on the "Big Green Egg" brand Grill. They had it mounted directly inside of the food truck kitchen. What a neat concept. I was impressed how delicious the burger was. It had that smoked flavor that I seldom get at other restaurants when I order a burger. I hope they continue to come to my office park throughout the year.

The Georgian Burger almost made me scream for joy. It was wonderful! So moist juicy and best of all grass fed! If you do nothing else in life try the Georgian burger!

This really was a good food truck!! I ordered the brussel sprouts and the burger. The brussel sprouts were crispy and delicious. The burger patty was juicy, with delicious toppings. The food was truly cooked fresh to order. Giving it 4 stars instead of 5, because the prices were rather high and the bun on my burger was honestly dry, crumbly and terrible.

I walked away from this food truck with an unhappy belly, an empty wallet, and a bad attitude to match. We decided to check out the truck at the arts festival at Stone Mountain. That was a big mistake. The wait in line was horrible. Not because there were so many people but because the service was so slow. They kept having internet problems and the only person that could fix it was the cook, who had to stop cooking to resolve the issues constantly. We finally ordered our food but still had to wait another 10-15 minutes for it to be cooked. Once it was handed to us, we were in shock. My husband had the salmon BLT which he said was good, but for the price and after the wait, it was not worth it. I had the Tree Hugger vegetarian option, which was touted as grilled veggies atop a bed of red quinoa. When I saw it, the only thing I could say was "you have GOT to be kidding me!" For $9, I got about 6 pieces of ice cold "grilled" veggie chunks and a few grains of quinoa atop a handful of greens in a hot dog sized paper boat. My kids got the grilled chicken strips and only ate a bite before pushing it away and saying "no thanks". This meal was a serious disappointment. Looking at the menu, it looked delicious. However, what was actually delivered was a far cry from what was advertised. I like to give places a second chance, but I was that offended by what I paid versus what I got that I don't need to throw good money after bad to try it again. There are too many other options to waste my time or money again.

Food trucks are not a new thing to me, they are very common in Ecuador and yes they always tend to be amazing, but I understand is a new movement here in the US hehe. First of all I absolutely love the name of this truck cause we all want a happy belly in the end lol. All food is made with organic products which is awesome, I got the Georgia Peach a sandwich with pulled pork and peaches, it was so delicious never thought the combination of pork and peaches would taste so sweet, I was pleasantly surprised by it. Ravi got the chicken sandwich with gouda cheese and it was so delicious also but I had to give back my half of it since my friend didn't like mine so much womp, no biggies though both sandwiches were off the chain, definitely have to try the rest of the menu next time I see it.

RIP to Terry Hall, food truck pioneer. We've supported Terry since he was at the long-defunct Harry's/Whole Paycheck food truck events. We are also regulars at area events. We generally try to get there early to beat the big crowds. Now Happy Belly is opening after the events start, almost always the last truck to open. You'd think what may be the most popular truck at super popular events like Alpharetta Food Truck Alley would want to be the first to open, not the last. Food quality is still there, but the lackadaisical starting times never happened when Terry was alive. He ran a very tight ship. Is it beginning to sink?

I'm not really sure why this food truck is considered healthy other than sourcing some organic ingredients (the only one I see organic is arugula). I had the Georgia Peach sandwich and Brussels for Muscles, about $14 for both. The smoked pulled pork for the sandwich was pretty tasty, but the slaw and bread offset its flavor. The peach had a strangely complimentary taste as well. I didn't like how the barbecue sauce was on one bun though. Rate 3.5/5 stars. Brussels for Muscles was SO greasy... Sauce almost overpowering, but still pretty good. Definitely not worth the price though.

Awesome food! Definitely a curbside kitchen, as opposed to a food truck. Get your Georgian burger cooked on a Big Green Egg, as opposed to a fry grill. So far ahead of the other food trucks.

Talk about a HUGE let down. I got the Not So Ordinary Chicken Sandwhich and a Root Beer soda and my bill came to $14.95. The Happy Belly truck was parked outside my place of employment. I figured since the company I was having a fundraiser for March of Dimes the overpricing went towards a good cause. Nevertheless, the food was a disappointment. The best thing about my meal was the Root Beer. (seriously) I will NEVER eat off this tuck again.

History: I have to tell you, i was a skeptic at first. When my wife first mentioned a 'food truck' to me, i thought of a pickup truck with a shiny metal box on the back. What i found at the Alpharetta Food Truck Alley thursday night literally blew me away. Clean, new and a shiny green paint job.. kind of hard to miss, but i have to say the food was fantastic! Food: I had a Georgian burger, and after a lot of recommendations from the folks in line, I tried the brussel sprouts. Keep in mind.. I HATED Brussels before, but they did some kind of pan fry to get them crispy, and drizzled a homemade sauce on them... WOW! Price: We've been trying to go fresh, local and organic as much as we can for our kids. There is too much processed garbage on the shelves. Given that as a point of reference, the prices at Happy Belly are great. they are actually right in line with the Cheese Burger Bobby's near our house, but if you consider the quality, its no contest. Cant really argue with $8-$12 for a healthy fresh meal. Bonus: I found this out later. these guys donate a portion of their profits to the Boys and Girls Club of Atlanta... I would happily recommend Happy Belly to one and all! The only down side is that now I'm craving more of those Brussels.. Good thing that food truck alley is tomorrow, I don't have long to wait.

Disappointing. Overpriced for what you get, and the food lacks flavor. Whoever was working the truck the day I purchased from them was also not friendly.

The food was a huge expensive let down. The food truck was at the Alpharetta Food Truck alley on Thursday (7/31). We ordered 4 Georgia Burgers that were supposed to be cooked med-well. They were barely cooked, blood red on inside. After 2 bites we thru out the burgers. I expect more for a $10 burger. The fries were soaked in oil and soggy, and tasteless. $3 for bottled ice tea. Bad food for $45. I hope we dont get sick from this food truck. Total ripoff!

Had heard great things about Happy Belly and when I saw them at the Smyrna Food truck night decided this was the line to be in. Agree with another reviewer, not the most efficient ordering set up and took much longer than other food trucks BUT still wasn't worried because we had heard the food was worth it. We had the Georgian Chicken sandwich and the Burger and Fries...It wasn't bad, but it was mediocre. The fries were tiny pieces, the sandwiches had minimal seasoning/sauce/flavor and overall def not worth our wait in line for 45 mins. Would choose another line to wait in next time for sure. Did not live up to it's name!

The menu has a unique variety that you can't find just anywhere. Vegetarian options are a plus. It was worth the money and the wait. I got the brussel sprouts and boy are they ever delicious. My belly was very happy : )

When I bought tickets to Shakespeare in the Park, I was really exited to see that Happy Belly Truck would be catering the affair. The local, organic and gluten free/ paleo friendly menu sounded great. However, the night arrived, we arrived and Happy Belly arrived sans paleo options (at least not the ones I saw on the website). Ok, that's fine, not a huge deal. So we all got in line and stood as delicious smells wafted out of the truck, and the order taking process was executed with excruciating slowness. I know that iPad ordering is supposed to speed things up, but I swear, it would have been quicker doing it with a pen and paper or an old school cash register. Finally, we made it to the front of the line, and much to my dismay, they were out of the brussel sprouts. Normally, I'm not a brussel sprout fan, but Happy Belly made them sound so enticing, I willing to forgo my prejudice and give it a try. Fail. I ended up ordering the chicken salad wrap, my boyfriend ordered the ninja smoke pulled pork sandwich and we got an order of the truffle fries to share. After what seemed like an eternity, the food was served up, we took our seats for the show and dug in. The wrap was substantial and pretty tasty, I'll give it that, but I wasn't quite expecting it to be chicken salad (mustard-based), more like roasted chicken with dressing and raisins, etc. My boyfriend liked the ninja smoke sandwich, which had smoked pulled pork in a Chinese five-spice rub, a hoisin BBQ sauce and ponzu slaw on top. It was a little light on the fillings, heavy on the bun, but there was nothing we could do about that. And the fries were fine, although we somehow didn't get any truffle dipping sauce, which I was disappointed to discover later. Overall, the food from Happy Belly was good, but the execution, inability to keep things in stock, and lack of menu items was disappointing and kept this review from being better. Maybe we'll meet again in the future under better conditions and I can upgrade my review, Happy Belly.

Was visiting Atlanta from the West Coast (the home of food trucks), and the food at Happy Belly was awesome. Tracked them down twice while there for the week. The burger is awesome and the turkey wrap was just as good. Check their facebook page to find out where they will be next. Plan to go more than once so you can try more than one thing on the menu (or go hungry and try two).

I went to the Atlanta Food Truck Park this past weekend and tried out Happy Belly for the first time. The Georgian - this burger had great taste with the sweet onion chutney and the ancho chili dressing, but I didn't like Kaiser bun. The bun was too tough even after it was heated, so I ended up just eating the patty. Fries with Truffle dipping sauce - I wasn't impressed with the taste nor with the fries to dipping sauce ratio. There simply was not enough sauce for the fries. Ok, so maybe the fries tasted a bit better than average, but I would've enjoyed the sesame fries from the Yumbii truck more than these. The fries and sauce just weren't that impressive. On a Saturday night, there weren't that many choices at the food park which is why I chose Happy Belly. The wait for my order was about 15-20 minutes... which is a bit long compared to the other trucks but understandably the burger was cooked from the BGE (Big Green Egg). People at Happy Belly are friendly. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. The Puffin Paleo looked pretty good and so did the Kale salad. Maybe some other time.

It's on the expensive side for food trucks, but it's totally worth it! I got the One for the Kipper (without the bacon) and was worried about it not being hearty enough for me, but it was a TON of salmon and the kale was great with all the accompaniments. And I got the fries, which was also a large portion and had a unique, delicious seasoning on top. I definitely suggest it!

A fantastic truck to visit if you can. Check his FB and Twitter for a schedule of locations. I had the Georgian burger and it was very good. The Mac n Cheese which is made with Gouda was also very tasty.

i had the georgian burger. when you read the description it sounds awesome! however, it fell short. the burger had cheese and maybe a teaspoon of sauce on bottom. def not worth 9 bucks. they need to throw some lettuce or a nice slaw on it. the burger def needs a boost.

We are giving various food trucks a try as our onsite food options at work undergo a renovation. Today was my first time trying Happy Belly, I had the Go Paleo plate: perfectly grilled chicken breast and zucchini with a pesto-like marinade...absolutely delicious. And although I loved it, for $10 I would have expected a side salad (or something similar) to be included, and so this will be something of an occassional treat than a regular lunch choice.

The Georgian Burger almost made me scream for joy. It was wonderful! So moist juicy and best of all grass fed! If you do nothing else in life try the Georgian burger!

Awesome food! Definitely a curbside kitchen, as opposed to a food truck. Get your Georgian burger cooked on a Big Green Egg, as opposed to a fry grill. So far ahead of the other food trucks.

Disappointing. Overpriced for what you get, and the food lacks flavor. Whoever was working the truck the day I purchased from them was also not friendly.

Avoid!!
