We enjoyed our stay. The location is fantastic. I suggest you stay in one of the carriage houses, or cottages, if you would like more privacy. The breakfasts were amazing. Both days our food was delicious, unique, and the portions were generous. We had the pleasure of speaking with the chef, he was very nice and even gave me his sauce recipe after I complimented it. We live in atlanta and look forward to coming back soon, this place is perfect for quiet weekend getaways.

This establishment had a very dirty bathroom floor in the Masters Suite (my socks stuck to the "tacky" floor). They did not respond to my e-mail addressing that concern and the fact that they did not comply with the terms of the LivingSocial deal (with a "premium" room a bottle of champagne was to be included). A simple response from this establishment would have been appreciated, but as they did not even bother to respond at all, I conclude that customer satisfaction is not high on their priority. So bottom line is ... avoid Savannah B&B.

Great location, they paid for parking, and the room was clean. However, we really wanted to like this place more than we did because the website oversold it a bit. The room was ok but the service was not nearly as friendly as indicated on the other reviews. The most disappointing aspect was the food. We expected it to be more gourmet and instead received food we could have made ourselves at home. Even the cookies at night were just ok. It was also a little off putting to see tip jars everywhere in the dining room, mentioned it in the welcome sheet and an envelope for tips in the room. We expect to tip the housekeeping staff but usually the owners or innkeepers handle breakfast. This is really more of a small hotel acting as a bed and breakfast. Also beware that the stairs are steep and narrow if you have mobility problems.

I was under a little stress to find a nice place to stay for this trip. My boyfriend had a meeting he had to attend and put me in charge of finding a hotel a month in advance. Of course, almost all of the bed and breakfasts in Savannah were booked and the ones that were available for far too expensive. I felt very optimistic about this place as the reviews were good and the price was not too high. It was also extremely close to the location of my boyfriend's meeting. Shortly before our trip I received a last minute notice that cause our arrival time in Savannah to be pushed back. I was so glad to know that there would be someone to let us in, even after hours. We arrived at 11 p.m. and a kind woman showed us around the inn, gave us our keys and showed us our room. I felt so bad about being late but she immediately made me feel at ease! Breakfast was wonderful. I think my boyfriend would have preferred to have more than one choice each morning, but it did not bother me too badly. Despite previous reviews, I did not find the coffee to be bad at all, maybe it's improved! After we got settled in our room, we went out for a midnight walk which was wonderful. The inn is located seconds from Forsyth Park, so it's much quieter than River Street and areas closer to the river. We stayed in the Mercer room, which was much prettier than it looked in the pictures. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of room to stretch out for a couple of days. It is up one flight of narrow stairs, so I don't suggest bringing large suitcases (fortunately we pack light!). The walls are a little thin, but our neighbors were very quiet. We didn't spend too much time at the inn, but when we were there it felt wonderful. It was so delightful to sit with other guests at breakfast, snack on milk and cookies right before bed and sit out on the patio during the evenings. I cannot attest to the afternoon tea, but I'm sure it was lovely, as was everything else at this place. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good bed and breakfast in Savannah. It isn't as expensive as the rest and the staff is amazing.

Comfy beds, cookies and milk, eggs Benedict for breakfast. I'm a happy gal! Gorgeous little B&B. I have never stayed at one of these before so I don't have anything to compare it to. However, this was a gem of place to stay at. I stayed in the Egyptian room. It was cute and cozy with Egyptian artwork purposefully placed in all the right places. The bed was big and comfy with pillows that resembled fluffy clouds at the end of a long day of walking through Savannah. I could not have asked for a better place to stay at. Best part-- Afternoon cookies and tea!!! However, the cookies actually turned out to be cheesecake brownies (even better than cookies!!!!). I can't comment on the night time milk and cookies because we were not back in time for that. My only recommendation for this place is for them to consider playing background music throughout the Inn. It was so quiet all the time that I always felt like I needed to whisper when I was roaming the grounds. Also, they need to work on their coffee. It was so weak! Tasted like coffee-water, blehhh.

I don't frequent B&B's very often, so maybe this stuff is all normal to those that do...but several things about this place bugged me. #1 - The room (we stayed in The Jasmine) was dusty and the bedsheets and blanket were covered in small yellow food stains. It as gross and we asked for new sheets. #2 - There was a huge (and I mean HUGE) hole in the wall that broadcast voices and the AC vent noises all night. The owners obviously tried to hide it by placing a table in front of the hole, but you could still see it while walking around the room. #3 - The decor in the common room and our bedroom was similar to an old ladies house - lots of dust, doilies, heavy furniture and kitschy trinkets. #5 - I came back with some crazy large bugs in my clothes from when I set them on a chair...gross! #4 The rooms had a stale smell, like mothballs and old grease. HOWEVER.... The front desk guy was really friendly, and the location was gorgeous. You could walk to great restaurants and nearby parks, and it was on a very quiet street. My fiance and I also really liked the back porch, where we sipped some wine and watched a passing thunderstorm...very relaxing! All in all I was a bit disappointed, especially given the great photos and reviews I'd seen online.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Savannah Bed and Breakfast Inn! It was so nice. We stayed in the lane cottage and it was very private, which we liked. I left a bunch of clothes in a drawer on accident and they called me almost immediately after and held onto them for me until I could come back to get them. I thought that was great customer service. Breakfast was good and the ambience is very nice. We felt very fancy staying there! I'd definitely recommend staying. They offer a budget stay where you can just pay a lower price per night and not choose where you'll be staying, and bedandbreakfast.com offers a lot of deals that can help you knock even more off the price!

I chose this place over a place I had stayed before and for over $200 a night I really wanted to love this place. All-in-all my experience seemed a contradiction in terms. It's much larger an operation than the traditional B&B - almost a wannabe boutique hotel. Perhaps it's going through growing pains which might explain why they're trying too hard or not enough. Following some confusion over my reservation (which was handled brilliantly and professionally - actually all the evening desk clerks were friendly and helpful) I was shown to a very nice room, where insulated windows was appreciated as I was on the street side. The blinds didn't do much to keep out street lamp light, however. The room was comfortable in spite of too much faux antique furniture but he Internet worked right away which was a plus. I had concern with the lack of hot water. There was the usual card for saving water by hanging up towels, yet after 10 minutes of trying to get hot water (both days) I gave up and went for the cold shower (maybe hot water cost extra). Breakfast was also odd -- all this wait staff hovering like a fine dining room yet the first morning I had to explain my order ticket (name and a couple of check off boxes). I was concerned it was me, but then I heard someone else explain an order that seemed super simple. The grits were amazing and the eggs benedict ok. The ham was the rectangular packaged lunchmeat and I couldn't cut the English muffin (sigh). Day two I scheduled the first seating and had to leave without eating because the food wasn't ready and I had to get on the road. So the kicker to all this was the tip jars and tip envelopes everywhere. Extremely off-putting (especially since the trash in my room wasn't emptied - could have made my own bed). A lot of things not consistent with traditional B&Bs. Probably will go back to my other place next time.

It must have been destiny because my girl friend found this place 2 months before St. Patty's Day when most everything was sold out in the Historic District or way overpriced. We stayed in the Ivy Cottage and loved the suite. It was a small two story place with the bedroom on the ground floor and the living room/kitchen upstairs. A steep spiral staircase made it all the more fun. The rooms were clean and AC worked just fine. Silverware, plates, glasses were all provided with a mini fridge. And there was a flat panel TV with the basic cable stations... We only had the breakfast once but it was apart of the buffet and was good. Not sure why there are complaints but if you need something in the early AM, it works. Plus you should be out eating the local cuisine in Savannah and not getting stuffed at a Bed and Breakfast, right? Shoot , morning of St. Patty's they served wine and juice...awesome! The B&B is a fun 15 minute walk to the river but with all the things to see, you won't even notice the time. And coming home at night after partying was great...it was like staying at grandmas because the main lobby would have cookies and water or ice tea left over...can't beat that! But it is a bed and breakfast so if you are the rowdy type, don't go, but if you are coupled up, this place is as good as it gets.

This was a nice B&B---though somewhat industrial (i.e. large). I guess the size helps them offer the B&B amenities at scale, and thus keep prices down. The top floor room that we stayed in was nicely decorated and spacious. It had a TV in the room and a roomy private bathroom. Two large bedroom windows overlooked the square. The location of this B&B is excellent. The square it is on is beautiful and quiet and it is within walking distance of everything in historic Savannah. The reason why I knocked one star off was the breakfasts; in one word: awful. Both mornings we unfortunately opted for the hot breakfasts. The B&B breakfasts made Waffle House look gourmet and high quality (this is not a dig on Waffle House... I love Waffle House). Unless you inquire and they tell you they have re-done their breakfast menu, opt for the cold breakfast (yogurt, cereal, fruit, and coffee). The juice they served with breakfast was horrid (tasted worse than watery tang) and I can make a better hot breakfast in my sleep. The one place this B&B cheaped out (and shouldn't have) was on breakfast. Beds and rooms were great. Breakfast could have used a slight budget boost per person to bring it up to par with what you would expect from any self respecting B&B. In fact... simple eggs, toast, fruit, and good coffee would beat out what they tried to pass off as a 'fancy' breakfast. Free parking was a great perk. Free wifi was nice (though it was a bit of a struggle to get my computer to connect; I had better luck downstairs than up in the bedroom).

This was a nice place, and the people were very friendly. The location of the B&B was great. The breakfast was great and the people were great. We stayed in the Chatham room which was really quaint and looked out on Chatham Square. The decor was traditional and very pretty, and the bathroom was completely redone and modern. The only drawback was that the room was not really well insulated sound-wise, and when our neighbors were in their room next door, we could hear everything (in their bathroom anyway). But still, I would recommend this inn.

I hesitate to write this review because I don't want everyone finding out about this gem! BUT, lucky for you, I believe in spreading good news. I love staying at this inn. The building and rooms are beautiful and well kept, the staff is super friendly, and the morning breakfast is delicious and homemade! I love sitting in the courtyard having tea and fresh omlets. The location too is perfect. This square is not the most beautiflu in Savannah, but it's lovely and only steps from Mercer House and Forsyth Park. The most amazing part is the price though... I cannot believe a place like this exists that is so affordable. But don't let the affordability throw you off: this place is every bit as good (and perhaps better!) than its more expensive counterparts.

Our first bed and breakfast experience, and it was such a great one. Our room was very nice and had a great view (the Parkview room), and I even started to enjoy the walk up the two flights of stairs to get there. My mom rented the only other room on that floor, so it was very homey feeling. The four poster bed was very comfortable, and the exposed beams and the old furnishings made the ambiance something wonderful. The Inn is located close to EVERYTHING. Savannah's downtown/historic district is small and totally walkable, so staying at the Bed and Breakfast Inn was a treat. We were able to walk to the Sentient Bean in the morning for coffee (at the other end of Forsyth Park), grab a new toothbrush at Brighter Days Natural Foods, and then head back down to the waterfront very quickly. The staff were all extremely nice and accommodating. Bob, the owner, has many great stories to part with, and you are taken great care of. We especially loved the nightly milk and cookies, and the weekend wine and hors d'oeuvres. The daily breakfast is cooked fresh and is often shared with other guests around one of the big wooden tables. A great way to get to know some of the other folks enjoying the B&B with you. This is not the type of place for people who don't like interacting with other guests or engaging in conversations. This is a very social place and all the better for it! We spent Christmas night playing trivial pursuit and chatting with other guests over milk and cookies. If we come back to Savannah, we will definitely stay here again!

Excellent for the price. Great staff. We had the Ivy Cottage, a great room with bed and bath downstairs, and a tight spiral staircase leading to a kitchenette, living room and balcony. Not the room for you if you can't do stairs. Breakfast wasn't special, but enough to start the day. Anyway, you want your appetite in tact for all that Savannah has to offer. Tea and snacks in the afternoon and milk and cookies before bed add a nice touch. Location may seem far from the river, but you don't want to miss all that you'll see on the walk. I'll stay here again.

Very nice option for staying in downtown Savannah. Our room (Pulaski) had great working A/C (still needed in November), and was nice and quiet. The bathroom could be better, and they could have been a little more generous with the towels and whatnot. Breakfast was big and tasty, totally satisfied.

First off - I am a dodo. I made my reservation for last thursday. The guy asked me for my name, I told him, he said he couldn't find me. I looked at the confirmation email - it had us checking in last week. We stared awkwardly at each other and I asked if he could honor it since it was already paid. He said that he would. Whew! And we booked the mgr. special so we had no idea what we would get but ended up in the Ivy Cottage. The inn is nice, the dining room is standard fare I'd say. A dead charming courtyard in the back. Super cute. The Ivy Cottage is separate from the main house which is nice. The bedroom is very European sized, if you know what I mean. The bathroom had just a shower but was a very decent size. A spiral stair leads you to a sitting area with a kitchenette and a little balcony that overlooks the courtyard. For breakfast, you fill out a card and in the morning they ask you your room so they can bring you your meal. Fine by me. They offered grapefruit juice so I was happy. Selection wasn't huge but it was definitely wide enough. Location is great too. No, it's not on Bull and LIberty but, as a native of Savannah, this is the more charming area of town anyways.

I loved the location and the overall feel of the B&B but the filling out a card for your breakfast the night before and not having room for everyone to sit down for breakfast was a letdown. The rooms where nice, the bed felt ok and the bathrooms where newer. But the rooms needed to be cleaned maybe a little better for my taste. I think the night staff guy was nice he walked around and knew who you were. The day front desk lady was impersonal and didn't know what was going on. A suggestion if you're going to spend some time here pack two small suitcases if you're on the third floor it'll kill you carrying up a large suitcase up narrow stairs. I would also bring wet wipes. Savannah was fun and beautiful you really don't spend that much time at the B&B anyway. -T 8-)

Savannah Bed and Breakfast Inn is a little gem in the heart of the historic district situated across from Chatam Square was the perfect starting location to explore Savannah. I stumbled upon this B&B after doing some Internet searches. I ultimately went for this particular B&B due to value. I was able to get a room for $99/night. Quite a bargain for the historic district. Not only was breakfast included but I also considered the following a bonus: paid parking, afternoon tea & baked goods, evening cookies and milk. My room the Telfair, was simply charming in decoration. Located on the second floor this might pose a challenge for some not comfortable with stairs. I, however, would hesitate to recommend as the room looked out on to the square and was high enough to be sheltered from any street traffic noise. In the spirit of full disclosure, there were several items not quite to my liking that prevent me from giving a higher rating. 1. There are multiple cats that call the outside deck/courtyard home. I am extremely allergic to cats so these areas of the property were off limits to me and anyone else who has dander allergies. 2. I also found it slightly odd that this B&B didn't have a formal living room receiving room. The majority of the common space was taken up with breakfast tables. So, outside of sitting outside or a table there was little space to escape your room. 3. The free Internet signal is not available in all rooms and in the Telfair the signal was extremely weak. Also, If you are a B&B breakfast snob, this is not the location for you. The breakfasts were good but nothing special to write home about. I stayed 3 days and the best option was the pancakes served on my last day. That being said, I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The accommodations and service were top notch and this far outweighs any slight inconveniences.

The Savannah Bed & Breakfast Inn is a charming little B&B on a beautiful tree-lined street with relatively easy street parking. They give you a parking pass so you can park for free at any meter in the city, as well as selected parking garages, so it's also convenient. Our room was small but cute--the only complaint we had was the extremely hard bed, with hard pillows to match. However, the delicious breakfast each morning somewhat made up for that. Everything is homemade and fresh--the highlight for me were the addictive cheese grits and buttery mushroom quiche. Even better were the fresh-baked, warm chocolate chip cookies that were left out each night around 8pm. There was also a wine and cheese hour between 5-7pm. The staff are sweet and helpful, and it's located close to pretty much anything you'd want to do in Savannah.

Ok, granted that this is was my first Bed & Breakfast stay BUT, I was highly impressed with this place. My future Mother in Law spent 3 wonderful nights and 4 days! Everything was immaculate! And the service was superb! Milk and cookies at night and wonderful breakfast! Our rooms had the most gorgeous and intricately carved wooden beds, feather pillows and softest sheets I have slept on in a loooong time! My only complaint was, the bathroom. Its very small and oddly put together. I am a bathroom freak. I love for a room I stay in to flow and it seems off. But then again it can be expected if its an old house turned into a bed and breakfast. It was also close to everything I wanted to walk to and it was wonderful walking all of historic Savanna and not have to worry about parking! I really really really want to stay here again as soon as my fiance comes off deployment and visits!

Just returned from my first visit to Savannah and I would love to go back soon! This Inn was a wonderful, affordable place in a beautiful city. The Inn is located on W. Gordon between Chatham and Monterey Squares. It is a picturesque row of houses, with curved stairways and wrought iron railings, on a tree-lined street. The location is great. It is easy walking distance to all the squares and to beautiful Forsythe Park. About 15 -20 minute walk to River Street. Four of us stayed in the Jasper House, which is a lovely three story row house. It has four bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths, remodeled kitchen, living room, formal dining room, and formal parlor (even has a chandelier). The rooms were very spacious, very nicely decorated, and very comfortable. The house has a very "period" feel, yet all the modern amenities , including washer and dryer. There is air conditioning and ceiling fans in all the rooms and on the deck, so the temperature is well-controlled. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast was great. They also serve iced tea and cake in the afternoons, and wine/cheese on weekends. Warm-baked cookies and milk are served in the evening. We has a perfect time! I would highly recommend renting the Japser house for groups of 3 or more sleeping solo...it can accommodate up to eight but that would include bed-sharing. I loved this place and would definitely go again. You can have your own HOUSE for the price some of those high-end inns are charging for a room. **Couple things to be aware of : They have a few cats..really cute and sweet. They stay out on the decks, and in the courtyard, so you can avoid them easily if you are allergic or something. Also, there are stairs to the front entrance and stairs to each floor...so if you are using one of the bedrooms on the third floor, you are doing quite a bit of stair-climbing.

Sadly, I will never get to share the great experiences of the other Yelpers who stayed at this Inn. I pre-paid one night's rate to hold a reservation. When we had a conflict and had to postpone our travel, I promptly emailed the management to let them know the problem. Their reply was, "no problem, let us know when you will be traveling". Seemed great, until they called me the night I was originally scheduled to stay, left a message asking where I was and when I contacted them in the AM, they told me my deposit was forfeited. Ugh. Anyone know of another awesome B&B in Savannah??!

My husband and I recently were lucky enough to stay in the Cottage on the Lane, a converted carriage house that is part of the B&B. It was very private, and had a downstairs parlor and kitchen as well as a lovely bedroom upstairs. Everybody who worked at the Inn made sure we had a great time, and for the value, I think it would be hard to beat staying here. It is located in a more residential area, but walking to the more commercial parts of Savannah only takes around 10-15 minutes. The highlights of course were eating breakfast in the courtyard and grabbing chocolate chip cookies before bed at the end of the day. If we return to Savannah, we will be returning here as well.

WHAT A GEM!!! Yes, I had to put that in CAPITALS. I found this place via a last minute internet search 2 weeks prior to my vacation to the East Coast. I offer huge thanks to Google that they were all the way on top. All of the other B&Bs were running over $200.00 for the week of June 25, but the boyfriend and I snagged a BEAUTIFUL Egyptian themed room for WAY under $200.00 because of a SUMMER SPECIAL that they were running. Even without the special, the rates are a great deal. The breakfast was good and the sweet tea available during the afternoon tea was DELICIOUS. We were pleased that the B&B offered free internet. Plus, our room overlooked Chatham Sqare, which is lovely during the afternoon. The hotel is close to Forsyth Park (BEAUTIFUL) and is about a 15 minute stroll from the riverside. Yet, hands down, this is one of the loveliest hotels that my boyfriend and I have stayed at. The staff made us feel at home and I would definitely stay here again, if given the chance!

It's laid back and a great place for those that aren't totally into the "Bed and Breakfast Experience" as there is a bit more privacy. We have stayed their 3 times, and are planning our next trip in a few months.

This place surprised us in how gorgeous it was. The house, the rooms, the furniture... even the breakfast was amazing. Savannah certainly is the hostess-city! The owner came by in the morning, introduced himself and asked if everything was all right. It was just perfect. It is also right by Forsyth park, which makes for a nice, picturesque early morning jog or walk.

I loved the Inn. All of the staff was friendly.There was also street parking that the hotel will pay for, but you do have to look at the signs to make sure the street sweeper isn't coming that night.The Ivy Cottage is fantastic! The small spiral staircase might not be for everyone, but we loved it! The cottage had the bathroom and bedroom on the first floor, and the living room and kitchenette upstairs. There was a great balcony right off the living room. The bed was kind of high, but it was comfy. I'm really picky about the bed, and this was really good. The cottage was clean, and delightfully eclectic. The kitchenette had a sink, coffee maker (with coffee,tea and supplies), a microwave, mini fridge and utensils. Having the flexibility to choose what time frame(7:00-9:30) we wanted to eat breakfast, was a plus. The cook was super friendly, always coming to see what else he could do for you, and the wait staff was also fantastic. They have a snack and tea in the evening, and fresh baked cookies at 8. My 18 year old daughter and I were so impressed with everything.We had stayed at the Doubletree in July, but we much prefer the Inn. I will definitely stay here again, I can't wait!

This was our first time in Savannah and our first time at this B&B. Both the city and the B&B lived up to what we had been told. The B&B staff was helpful and nice; the breakfasts were good and the room was beautiful. My one (very minor) complaint was that the stairs leading down to our courtyard and up to our room were a little overgrown. Didn't bother us much but that could definitely turn people off of this particular B&B. This B&B is a quick walk from Forsyth Park, a few SCAD buildings and the Synagogue- but then again it's a short walk from one side of the historic district to the other...

Second visit here, and just as perfect! The beds are very comfortable, the breakfast is delicious and the staff treats you like a favored friend. It is a very comfortable atmosphere, coffee is available all day. The rooms are lovely and spacious, the bathrooms are just big enough with plenty of towels and toiletries. Be aware there are steps--a lot. There is absolutely NO access to anything without a few steps, street level is down two steps. Most of those rooms have access to the courtyard for breakfast but you have to let them know you are there, the staff will bring it to you. Order breakfast the day before, the staff is very accommodating to special requests. And the food is great. Take your coffee over to Chatham square in the Togo cup provided and enjoy the view. This visit they were completely booked, yet we felt like we were the most important guest. The staff has guest service perfected!
Great service, Hugh rooms...suites. Clean. Good breakfast, would stay again. They even have dehumidifiers. Our unit had a kitchen too. Live Oak is very nice and comfortable.

For the price and the good location in the heart of Savannah, this is a sweet place. We did the innkeepers special for two nights and were placed in the Treetop room which is up three flights of stairs from street level. No biggie except for hauling up our medium size suitcase up the slightly narrow old stairwells. The room was nice and has a little kitchen area with a microwave, sink, and fridge. Also a three seat table and a couple chairs in the living/dining area with a TV. Nice queensize bed which was pretty firm which we liked. The headboard is up against the windows facing the street and they aren't very insulating of temp or noise....a little drafty. I actually thought the window was open as i could hear outside so clearly but it is an old brownstone so that's part of the charm for sure. Bathroom was fine but not much space to put your bathroom things out. Free in room Wifi had some issues when it rained but was fast when it worked. Now i'll talk about the second B, breakfast. We enjoyed two and they were both nicely done...french toast and then eggs benedict with juice and coffee in a communal dining area in the main entry house. They also serve a nice array of warm tasty cookies at 8 pm each evening. Get em and then head out for drinks and walk around the beautiful historic city. Parking was a snap as there was a decent amount of available spaces and the hotel takes care of the meter with quarters on travel days and parking passes on full days. Relative stayed in the Azalea room which is on second floor and has two queen beds in two rooms with the second being a main room with chairs and a TV and bathroom. View is out the back which is nothing special at all. You'll have to walk through 1st bedroom to get to 2nd bedroom. Great and very hospitable hotel staff. You'll enjoy your stay. It's quaint and reasonably priced.

We stayed two nights with the Summer Special. The first night we were in the Red Cottage. It was a fantastic two-story with living space downstairs (with a pull out couch and two chairs for seating and a mini fridge and microwave). The sleeping area and bath were upstairs. The second night, we're in the Azalea room, which consisted of two rooms. One room had a nice seating area with two chairs and it had the bathroom. The second room had a bed, a couple of tables, and a smaller chair. Both rooms were nicely decorated and clean. Check out their pictures, not doing it justice. Also, the staff was very friendly and made suggestions on things to do and places to eat. The breakfasts were delicious and be sure to try the afternoon tea and the milk/cookies!

There are a few things this B&B has going for it: it's very conveniently located in the historic district, almost everything is within walking distance, and the staff here are very friendly. We stayed for three nights in the Blue Cottage. I found our cottage to be surface clean. I just had an icky feeling about the carpet that made me want to not be barefoot at all. The tub mat in the bathroom had a tacky feel to it when I first put it down. The bathroom wasn't very clean when we checked in...and bathrooms are my biggest point of contention. The water pressure was just tolerable, but there was plenty of hot water for us. All of the linens were clean--I could smell the (great smelling!) detergent on the towels and bedsheets every day. The bed was firm, but there were six pillows of varying degrees of squishy and firmness. Other than that, mirrors were clean, floors mostly clean, but just to be on the safe side, I washed the mugs in our room before using them. Breakfast. Hmm. I am a personal fan of breakfasts, but there was something to be desired about the breakfasts I had. The first day was huevos rancheros (the beans had not been properly drained and as a result I had a yolky-bean juicy dish), second day was two eggs cooked to order, a biscuit, sausage or bacon, and grits, and the third day was a choice of cinnamon french toast or white truffle french toast made with grocery store sliced bread. The breakfasts weren't bad, but they weren't necessarily gourmet, either. I had a peek in the kitchen and found Kirkland's brand ingredients. Like a couple others have mentioned, you fill out a breakfast order slip the night before with your choice of seating time, however these aren't really regulated, and every day it was a battle to find seating for the three of us together. There were four cats that roamed in the courtyard. Some people claim allergies, but the cats leave people alone for the most part (unless you chose to eat outside, in which case there was one black longhaired cat that was particularly fond of bacon). Other than that, the cats were off elsewhere doing cat things and I rarely saw them. They didn't come looking for attention and didn't try to go in any of the rooms. Would I stay here again? Absolutely, if I had a good deal. They take care of parking for you, and they make an effort to learn names for those staying a few nights. The location is just unbeatable, and some breakfast is better than no breakfast at all. Just don't forget to pack a pair of slippers.

No complaints here! We stayed in the Tomochichi room for two nights last weekend here. The room is actually named after the native american chief that originally sold the land Savannah was built on to General Oglethorpe. Actually all of the rooms at the inn are named after something historic in Savannah. Kind of a neat little thing if you're into the history of the city. Checking in was a breeze. Joey helped us get situated promptly, including a short tour of the inn and it's amenities. We were quickly in out room and settled. The room itself was pretty awesome. Most of it was old exposed brick on one side and the other had several windows and door facing the center patio of the inn. The room was decorated eloquently and it really felt like an older, rustic room, with modern amenities of course. The adjacent patio was really nice, with a garden and plenty of shade, and plenty of cats! This is where we ate breakfast both mornings. I really enjoyed the location of this place. It's right next to Forsyth park which is beautiful. It's also a short walk to River Street, crossing trough several of the squares. It's an even shorter cab ride back, if you've been on RIver Street too long. I'll definitely be returning for another stay here.

We really enjoyed our 4 nights here. The B&B operates a dozen or so units on the block which were formerly separates attached residences. We stayed on the second floor of a renovated carriage house (Camellia Room) and found it quite charming. Very spacious rooms, comfortable beds, quiet and somewhat frou frou old timey decor. Room wasn't particularly dark if that is a major concern for you. A series of cute well-planted courtyards connect many of the rooms and several cats laze about all day. Staff was very attentive and friendly. We enjoyed the quick breakfast service, as well as the complementary afternoon tea and chocolate chip cookies in the evening! We ate our breakfast on the back deck overlooking the courtyard, sunlight filtering through the big moss-covered oaks and loquat trees. Location is fantastic. It's right on Chatham Square, 90 second walk to Bull street and Forsythe Park. Good food in the area too with Mrs. Wilke's and Crystal Beer Parlor right around the corner. We didn't have a car until the last day, but the staff apparently pays your metered parking from 8-11AM so you don't have to wake up early! Only downside was the wifi was spotty at times. Overall very pleasant experience. It's not the most luxurious spot so don't come expecting posh, but its more than adequate and really quite charming. Would stay here again and highly recommend. Did I mention the free cookies?

What a gem! The rooms are beautiful, staff is extremely nice and helpful, and they have gingerbread and brownies waiting for you. I couldn't be more pleased. Tons of character and way quieter than the riverfront, which is only a 10 minute walk away.

We stayed in the Camellia room (up the stairs, through the dining room, out the back door, down the stairs into the courtyard, up the stairs to our own private building) and it was almost perfect. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, the temperature controls spot on. The location is in the middle of the historic district, with everything we wanted to see within a short walk (the tourist area along the river was about 20 minutes walk but enough said about that place). The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast choices were superb. Parking is on the street, but there were plenty of spaces and the Inn provides a permit to put on the dashboard - free parking. We stayed for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. What was less than perfect? Nothing serious. The shower was almost hot enough, and the wifi a bit weak. All things considered I would recommend this place to anyone.

This was a "I'm passing through on a road trip" stay. And it was nice. An old traditional Savannah row home that was charming and the staff was helpful. They are a little walk down to the water, but the walk moves you through a few nice parks and neighborhoods. The rooms are large and comfortable and noise from other rooms isn't an issue. Breakfast is included and I'd recommend getting there early or right near the end to not be crowded or wait for seating. All and all a great alternative to hotel/motels.

We were staying in the Live Oaks suite. It was very spacious and is at the end of the street overlooking Chatham square. It had a private entrance right on the street so it was like having a whole house to yourself. The room also had a microwave, fridge, and coffee pot. The queen bed firm but comfortable. Would have liked some fluffier pillows. The water pressure was nice in the shower. The bathroom is off the bedroom. Breakfast the was very good and portions were filling. They gave you 2-3 different options and the previous day you fill out a card letting them know which option you want. The bnb will also schedule tours for you and place them on your "tab". The concierge was very helpful with suggestions. I highly recommend and we will def be back. For the price you can't beat it for your own place downtown.

This place is just adorable. Our accommodations were elegant, comfortable (oh, those beds!), and clean. I stayed in "Mercer," which has one pro that is also a con: it is very quiet, but it's view isn't great. It looks out over a roof and courtyard, not Chatham Square. I much prefer this however, because I can't enjoy a view from my bed as I'm tossing and turning due to traffic noise. The only other negative from my room was that I had no hot water for my evening shower (at 11 pm). The public spaces are beautifully done and well looked after. Breakfast was delicious and a vegetarian option was offered. Staff were friendly and helpful. All-in-all, I'll definitely be back on my next trip to Savannah.

We enjoyed our stay. The location is fantastic. I suggest you stay in one of the carriage houses, or cottages, if you would like more privacy. The breakfasts were amazing. Both days our food was delicious, unique, and the portions were generous. We had the pleasure of speaking with the chef, he was very nice and even gave me his sauce recipe after I complimented it. We live in atlanta and look forward to coming back soon, this place is perfect for quiet weekend getaways.

This establishment had a very dirty bathroom floor in the Masters Suite (my socks stuck to the "tacky" floor). They did not respond to my e-mail addressing that concern and the fact that they did not comply with the terms of the LivingSocial deal (with a "premium" room a bottle of champagne was to be included). A simple response from this establishment would have been appreciated, but as they did not even bother to respond at all, I conclude that customer satisfaction is not high on their priority. So bottom line is ... avoid Savannah B&B.

Great location, they paid for parking, and the room was clean. However, we really wanted to like this place more than we did because the website oversold it a bit. The room was ok but the service was not nearly as friendly as indicated on the other reviews. The most disappointing aspect was the food. We expected it to be more gourmet and instead received food we could have made ourselves at home. Even the cookies at night were just ok. It was also a little off putting to see tip jars everywhere in the dining room, mentioned it in the welcome sheet and an envelope for tips in the room. We expect to tip the housekeeping staff but usually the owners or innkeepers handle breakfast. This is really more of a small hotel acting as a bed and breakfast. Also beware that the stairs are steep and narrow if you have mobility problems.

I was under a little stress to find a nice place to stay for this trip. My boyfriend had a meeting he had to attend and put me in charge of finding a hotel a month in advance. Of course, almost all of the bed and breakfasts in Savannah were booked and the ones that were available for far too expensive. I felt very optimistic about this place as the reviews were good and the price was not too high. It was also extremely close to the location of my boyfriend's meeting. Shortly before our trip I received a last minute notice that cause our arrival time in Savannah to be pushed back. I was so glad to know that there would be someone to let us in, even after hours. We arrived at 11 p.m. and a kind woman showed us around the inn, gave us our keys and showed us our room. I felt so bad about being late but she immediately made me feel at ease! Breakfast was wonderful. I think my boyfriend would have preferred to have more than one choice each morning, but it did not bother me too badly. Despite previous reviews, I did not find the coffee to be bad at all, maybe it's improved! After we got settled in our room, we went out for a midnight walk which was wonderful. The inn is located seconds from Forsyth Park, so it's much quieter than River Street and areas closer to the river. We stayed in the Mercer room, which was much prettier than it looked in the pictures. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of room to stretch out for a couple of days. It is up one flight of narrow stairs, so I don't suggest bringing large suitcases (fortunately we pack light!). The walls are a little thin, but our neighbors were very quiet. We didn't spend too much time at the inn, but when we were there it felt wonderful. It was so delightful to sit with other guests at breakfast, snack on milk and cookies right before bed and sit out on the patio during the evenings. I cannot attest to the afternoon tea, but I'm sure it was lovely, as was everything else at this place. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good bed and breakfast in Savannah. It isn't as expensive as the rest and the staff is amazing.

Comfy beds, cookies and milk, eggs Benedict for breakfast. I'm a happy gal! Gorgeous little B&B. I have never stayed at one of these before so I don't have anything to compare it to. However, this was a gem of place to stay at. I stayed in the Egyptian room. It was cute and cozy with Egyptian artwork purposefully placed in all the right places. The bed was big and comfy with pillows that resembled fluffy clouds at the end of a long day of walking through Savannah. I could not have asked for a better place to stay at. Best part-- Afternoon cookies and tea!!! However, the cookies actually turned out to be cheesecake brownies (even better than cookies!!!!). I can't comment on the night time milk and cookies because we were not back in time for that. My only recommendation for this place is for them to consider playing background music throughout the Inn. It was so quiet all the time that I always felt like I needed to whisper when I was roaming the grounds. Also, they need to work on their coffee. It was so weak! Tasted like coffee-water, blehhh.

I don't frequent B&B's very often, so maybe this stuff is all normal to those that do...but several things about this place bugged me. #1 - The room (we stayed in The Jasmine) was dusty and the bedsheets and blanket were covered in small yellow food stains. It as gross and we asked for new sheets. #2 - There was a huge (and I mean HUGE) hole in the wall that broadcast voices and the AC vent noises all night. The owners obviously tried to hide it by placing a table in front of the hole, but you could still see it while walking around the room. #3 - The decor in the common room and our bedroom was similar to an old ladies house - lots of dust, doilies, heavy furniture and kitschy trinkets. #5 - I came back with some crazy large bugs in my clothes from when I set them on a chair...gross! #4 The rooms had a stale smell, like mothballs and old grease. HOWEVER.... The front desk guy was really friendly, and the location was gorgeous. You could walk to great restaurants and nearby parks, and it was on a very quiet street. My fiance and I also really liked the back porch, where we sipped some wine and watched a passing thunderstorm...very relaxing! All in all I was a bit disappointed, especially given the great photos and reviews I'd seen online.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Savannah Bed and Breakfast Inn! It was so nice. We stayed in the lane cottage and it was very private, which we liked. I left a bunch of clothes in a drawer on accident and they called me almost immediately after and held onto them for me until I could come back to get them. I thought that was great customer service. Breakfast was good and the ambience is very nice. We felt very fancy staying there! I'd definitely recommend staying. They offer a budget stay where you can just pay a lower price per night and not choose where you'll be staying, and bedandbreakfast.com offers a lot of deals that can help you knock even more off the price!

I chose this place over a place I had stayed before and for over $200 a night I really wanted to love this place. All-in-all my experience seemed a contradiction in terms. It's much larger an operation than the traditional B&B - almost a wannabe boutique hotel. Perhaps it's going through growing pains which might explain why they're trying too hard or not enough. Following some confusion over my reservation (which was handled brilliantly and professionally - actually all the evening desk clerks were friendly and helpful) I was shown to a very nice room, where insulated windows was appreciated as I was on the street side. The blinds didn't do much to keep out street lamp light, however. The room was comfortable in spite of too much faux antique furniture but he Internet worked right away which was a plus. I had concern with the lack of hot water. There was the usual card for saving water by hanging up towels, yet after 10 minutes of trying to get hot water (both days) I gave up and went for the cold shower (maybe hot water cost extra). Breakfast was also odd -- all this wait staff hovering like a fine dining room yet the first morning I had to explain my order ticket (name and a couple of check off boxes). I was concerned it was me, but then I heard someone else explain an order that seemed super simple. The grits were amazing and the eggs benedict ok. The ham was the rectangular packaged lunchmeat and I couldn't cut the English muffin (sigh). Day two I scheduled the first seating and had to leave without eating because the food wasn't ready and I had to get on the road. So the kicker to all this was the tip jars and tip envelopes everywhere. Extremely off-putting (especially since the trash in my room wasn't emptied - could have made my own bed). A lot of things not consistent with traditional B&Bs. Probably will go back to my other place next time.

It must have been destiny because my girl friend found this place 2 months before St. Patty's Day when most everything was sold out in the Historic District or way overpriced. We stayed in the Ivy Cottage and loved the suite. It was a small two story place with the bedroom on the ground floor and the living room/kitchen upstairs. A steep spiral staircase made it all the more fun. The rooms were clean and AC worked just fine. Silverware, plates, glasses were all provided with a mini fridge. And there was a flat panel TV with the basic cable stations... We only had the breakfast once but it was apart of the buffet and was good. Not sure why there are complaints but if you need something in the early AM, it works. Plus you should be out eating the local cuisine in Savannah and not getting stuffed at a Bed and Breakfast, right? Shoot , morning of St. Patty's they served wine and juice...awesome! The B&B is a fun 15 minute walk to the river but with all the things to see, you won't even notice the time. And coming home at night after partying was great...it was like staying at grandmas because the main lobby would have cookies and water or ice tea left over...can't beat that! But it is a bed and breakfast so if you are the rowdy type, don't go, but if you are coupled up, this place is as good as it gets.

This was a nice B&B---though somewhat industrial (i.e. large). I guess the size helps them offer the B&B amenities at scale, and thus keep prices down. The top floor room that we stayed in was nicely decorated and spacious. It had a TV in the room and a roomy private bathroom. Two large bedroom windows overlooked the square. The location of this B&B is excellent. The square it is on is beautiful and quiet and it is within walking distance of everything in historic Savannah. The reason why I knocked one star off was the breakfasts; in one word: awful. Both mornings we unfortunately opted for the hot breakfasts. The B&B breakfasts made Waffle House look gourmet and high quality (this is not a dig on Waffle House... I love Waffle House). Unless you inquire and they tell you they have re-done their breakfast menu, opt for the cold breakfast (yogurt, cereal, fruit, and coffee). The juice they served with breakfast was horrid (tasted worse than watery tang) and I can make a better hot breakfast in my sleep. The one place this B&B cheaped out (and shouldn't have) was on breakfast. Beds and rooms were great. Breakfast could have used a slight budget boost per person to bring it up to par with what you would expect from any self respecting B&B. In fact... simple eggs, toast, fruit, and good coffee would beat out what they tried to pass off as a 'fancy' breakfast. Free parking was a great perk. Free wifi was nice (though it was a bit of a struggle to get my computer to connect; I had better luck downstairs than up in the bedroom).

This was a nice place, and the people were very friendly. The location of the B&B was great. The breakfast was great and the people were great. We stayed in the Chatham room which was really quaint and looked out on Chatham Square. The decor was traditional and very pretty, and the bathroom was completely redone and modern. The only drawback was that the room was not really well insulated sound-wise, and when our neighbors were in their room next door, we could hear everything (in their bathroom anyway). But still, I would recommend this inn.

I hesitate to write this review because I don't want everyone finding out about this gem! BUT, lucky for you, I believe in spreading good news. I love staying at this inn. The building and rooms are beautiful and well kept, the staff is super friendly, and the morning breakfast is delicious and homemade! I love sitting in the courtyard having tea and fresh omlets. The location too is perfect. This square is not the most beautiflu in Savannah, but it's lovely and only steps from Mercer House and Forsyth Park. The most amazing part is the price though... I cannot believe a place like this exists that is so affordable. But don't let the affordability throw you off: this place is every bit as good (and perhaps better!) than its more expensive counterparts.

Our first bed and breakfast experience, and it was such a great one. Our room was very nice and had a great view (the Parkview room), and I even started to enjoy the walk up the two flights of stairs to get there. My mom rented the only other room on that floor, so it was very homey feeling. The four poster bed was very comfortable, and the exposed beams and the old furnishings made the ambiance something wonderful. The Inn is located close to EVERYTHING. Savannah's downtown/historic district is small and totally walkable, so staying at the Bed and Breakfast Inn was a treat. We were able to walk to the Sentient Bean in the morning for coffee (at the other end of Forsyth Park), grab a new toothbrush at Brighter Days Natural Foods, and then head back down to the waterfront very quickly. The staff were all extremely nice and accommodating. Bob, the owner, has many great stories to part with, and you are taken great care of. We especially loved the nightly milk and cookies, and the weekend wine and hors d'oeuvres. The daily breakfast is cooked fresh and is often shared with other guests around one of the big wooden tables. A great way to get to know some of the other folks enjoying the B&B with you. This is not the type of place for people who don't like interacting with other guests or engaging in conversations. This is a very social place and all the better for it! We spent Christmas night playing trivial pursuit and chatting with other guests over milk and cookies. If we come back to Savannah, we will definitely stay here again!

Excellent for the price. Great staff. We had the Ivy Cottage, a great room with bed and bath downstairs, and a tight spiral staircase leading to a kitchenette, living room and balcony. Not the room for you if you can't do stairs. Breakfast wasn't special, but enough to start the day. Anyway, you want your appetite in tact for all that Savannah has to offer. Tea and snacks in the afternoon and milk and cookies before bed add a nice touch. Location may seem far from the river, but you don't want to miss all that you'll see on the walk. I'll stay here again.

Very nice option for staying in downtown Savannah. Our room (Pulaski) had great working A/C (still needed in November), and was nice and quiet. The bathroom could be better, and they could have been a little more generous with the towels and whatnot. Breakfast was big and tasty, totally satisfied.

First off - I am a dodo. I made my reservation for last thursday. The guy asked me for my name, I told him, he said he couldn't find me. I looked at the confirmation email - it had us checking in last week. We stared awkwardly at each other and I asked if he could honor it since it was already paid. He said that he would. Whew! And we booked the mgr. special so we had no idea what we would get but ended up in the Ivy Cottage. The inn is nice, the dining room is standard fare I'd say. A dead charming courtyard in the back. Super cute. The Ivy Cottage is separate from the main house which is nice. The bedroom is very European sized, if you know what I mean. The bathroom had just a shower but was a very decent size. A spiral stair leads you to a sitting area with a kitchenette and a little balcony that overlooks the courtyard. For breakfast, you fill out a card and in the morning they ask you your room so they can bring you your meal. Fine by me. They offered grapefruit juice so I was happy. Selection wasn't huge but it was definitely wide enough. Location is great too. No, it's not on Bull and LIberty but, as a native of Savannah, this is the more charming area of town anyways.

I loved the location and the overall feel of the B&B but the filling out a card for your breakfast the night before and not having room for everyone to sit down for breakfast was a letdown. The rooms where nice, the bed felt ok and the bathrooms where newer. But the rooms needed to be cleaned maybe a little better for my taste. I think the night staff guy was nice he walked around and knew who you were. The day front desk lady was impersonal and didn't know what was going on. A suggestion if you're going to spend some time here pack two small suitcases if you're on the third floor it'll kill you carrying up a large suitcase up narrow stairs. I would also bring wet wipes. Savannah was fun and beautiful you really don't spend that much time at the B&B anyway. -T 8-)

Nice little inn in a great location. It's about a 15 minute walk to the riverside. The room was clean and had the expected historic charm you'd expect in Savannah. Granted this isn't the Ritz Carlton of bed&breakfasts though, so don't expect anything extremely fancy. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast every morning was excellent. It'll be on the top of my list when we go back.

Savannah Bed and Breakfast Inn is a little gem in the heart of the historic district situated across from Chatam Square was the perfect starting location to explore Savannah. I stumbled upon this B&B after doing some Internet searches. I ultimately went for this particular B&B due to value. I was able to get a room for $99/night. Quite a bargain for the historic district. Not only was breakfast included but I also considered the following a bonus: paid parking, afternoon tea & baked goods, evening cookies and milk. My room the Telfair, was simply charming in decoration. Located on the second floor this might pose a challenge for some not comfortable with stairs. I, however, would hesitate to recommend as the room looked out on to the square and was high enough to be sheltered from any street traffic noise. In the spirit of full disclosure, there were several items not quite to my liking that prevent me from giving a higher rating. 1. There are multiple cats that call the outside deck/courtyard home. I am extremely allergic to cats so these areas of the property were off limits to me and anyone else who has dander allergies. 2. I also found it slightly odd that this B&B didn't have a formal living room receiving room. The majority of the common space was taken up with breakfast tables. So, outside of sitting outside or a table there was little space to escape your room. 3. The free Internet signal is not available in all rooms and in the Telfair the signal was extremely weak. Also, If you are a B&B breakfast snob, this is not the location for you. The breakfasts were good but nothing special to write home about. I stayed 3 days and the best option was the pancakes served on my last day. That being said, I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The accommodations and service were top notch and this far outweighs any slight inconveniences.

The Savannah Bed & Breakfast Inn is a charming little B&B on a beautiful tree-lined street with relatively easy street parking. They give you a parking pass so you can park for free at any meter in the city, as well as selected parking garages, so it's also convenient. Our room was small but cute--the only complaint we had was the extremely hard bed, with hard pillows to match. However, the delicious breakfast each morning somewhat made up for that. Everything is homemade and fresh--the highlight for me were the addictive cheese grits and buttery mushroom quiche. Even better were the fresh-baked, warm chocolate chip cookies that were left out each night around 8pm. There was also a wine and cheese hour between 5-7pm. The staff are sweet and helpful, and it's located close to pretty much anything you'd want to do in Savannah.

Ok, granted that this is was my first Bed & Breakfast stay BUT, I was highly impressed with this place. My future Mother in Law spent 3 wonderful nights and 4 days! Everything was immaculate! And the service was superb! Milk and cookies at night and wonderful breakfast! Our rooms had the most gorgeous and intricately carved wooden beds, feather pillows and softest sheets I have slept on in a loooong time! My only complaint was, the bathroom. Its very small and oddly put together. I am a bathroom freak. I love for a room I stay in to flow and it seems off. But then again it can be expected if its an old house turned into a bed and breakfast. It was also close to everything I wanted to walk to and it was wonderful walking all of historic Savanna and not have to worry about parking! I really really really want to stay here again as soon as my fiance comes off deployment and visits!

Just returned from my first visit to Savannah and I would love to go back soon! This Inn was a wonderful, affordable place in a beautiful city. The Inn is located on W. Gordon between Chatham and Monterey Squares. It is a picturesque row of houses, with curved stairways and wrought iron railings, on a tree-lined street. The location is great. It is easy walking distance to all the squares and to beautiful Forsythe Park. About 15 -20 minute walk to River Street. Four of us stayed in the Jasper House, which is a lovely three story row house. It has four bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths, remodeled kitchen, living room, formal dining room, and formal parlor (even has a chandelier). The rooms were very spacious, very nicely decorated, and very comfortable. The house has a very "period" feel, yet all the modern amenities , including washer and dryer. There is air conditioning and ceiling fans in all the rooms and on the deck, so the temperature is well-controlled. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast was great. They also serve iced tea and cake in the afternoons, and wine/cheese on weekends. Warm-baked cookies and milk are served in the evening. We has a perfect time! I would highly recommend renting the Japser house for groups of 3 or more sleeping solo...it can accommodate up to eight but that would include bed-sharing. I loved this place and would definitely go again. You can have your own HOUSE for the price some of those high-end inns are charging for a room. **Couple things to be aware of : They have a few cats..really cute and sweet. They stay out on the decks, and in the courtyard, so you can avoid them easily if you are allergic or something. Also, there are stairs to the front entrance and stairs to each floor...so if you are using one of the bedrooms on the third floor, you are doing quite a bit of stair-climbing.

Sadly, I will never get to share the great experiences of the other Yelpers who stayed at this Inn. I pre-paid one night's rate to hold a reservation. When we had a conflict and had to postpone our travel, I promptly emailed the management to let them know the problem. Their reply was, "no problem, let us know when you will be traveling". Seemed great, until they called me the night I was originally scheduled to stay, left a message asking where I was and when I contacted them in the AM, they told me my deposit was forfeited. Ugh. Anyone know of another awesome B&B in Savannah??!

My husband and I recently were lucky enough to stay in the Cottage on the Lane, a converted carriage house that is part of the B&B. It was very private, and had a downstairs parlor and kitchen as well as a lovely bedroom upstairs. Everybody who worked at the Inn made sure we had a great time, and for the value, I think it would be hard to beat staying here. It is located in a more residential area, but walking to the more commercial parts of Savannah only takes around 10-15 minutes. The highlights of course were eating breakfast in the courtyard and grabbing chocolate chip cookies before bed at the end of the day. If we return to Savannah, we will be returning here as well.

WHAT A GEM!!! Yes, I had to put that in CAPITALS. I found this place via a last minute internet search 2 weeks prior to my vacation to the East Coast. I offer huge thanks to Google that they were all the way on top. All of the other B&Bs were running over $200.00 for the week of June 25, but the boyfriend and I snagged a BEAUTIFUL Egyptian themed room for WAY under $200.00 because of a SUMMER SPECIAL that they were running. Even without the special, the rates are a great deal. The breakfast was good and the sweet tea available during the afternoon tea was DELICIOUS. We were pleased that the B&B offered free internet. Plus, our room overlooked Chatham Sqare, which is lovely during the afternoon. The hotel is close to Forsyth Park (BEAUTIFUL) and is about a 15 minute stroll from the riverside. Yet, hands down, this is one of the loveliest hotels that my boyfriend and I have stayed at. The staff made us feel at home and I would definitely stay here again, if given the chance!

This is a really good place to stay, the location is excellent...away from the touristy places yet not far from the historic district. The staff was very polite and helpful. We stayed at the tree top room which had a living room, kitchen and a bed room. You get the classic features of historic Savannah house without the haunting...lol.

Our favorite place to stay in Savannah. Just a half block or so behind the Mercer House, and tucked away next to a quiet square. They offer pretty reasonable rates, especially during the slow season. It's laid back and a great place for those that aren't totally into the "Bed and Breakfast Experience" as there is a bit more privacy. We have stayed their 3 times, and are planning our next trip in a few months.

This place surprised us in how gorgeous it was. The house, the rooms, the furniture... even the breakfast was amazing. Savannah certainly is the hostess-city! The owner came by in the morning, introduced himself and asked if everything was all right. It was just perfect. It is also right by Forsyth park, which makes for a nice, picturesque early morning jog or walk.

I loved the Inn. All of the staff was friendly.There was also street parking that the hotel will pay for, but you do have to look at the signs to make sure the street sweeper isn't coming that night.The Ivy Cottage is fantastic! The small spiral staircase might not be for everyone, but we loved it! The cottage had the bathroom and bedroom on the first floor, and the living room and kitchenette upstairs. There was a great balcony right off the living room. The bed was kind of high, but it was comfy. I'm really picky about the bed, and this was really good. The cottage was clean, and delightfully eclectic. The kitchenette had a sink, coffee maker (with coffee,tea and supplies), a microwave, mini fridge and utensils. Having the flexibility to choose what time frame(7:00-9:30) we wanted to eat breakfast, was a plus. The cook was super friendly, always coming to see what else he could do for you, and the wait staff was also fantastic. They have a snack and tea in the evening, and fresh baked cookies at 8. My 18 year old daughter and I were so impressed with everything.We had stayed at the Doubletree in July, but we much prefer the Inn. I will definitely stay here again, I can't wait!

This was our first time in Savannah and our first time at this B&B. Both the city and the B&B lived up to what we had been told. The B&B staff was helpful and nice; the breakfasts were good and the room was beautiful. My one (very minor) complaint was that the stairs leading down to our courtyard and up to our room were a little overgrown. Didn't bother us much but that could definitely turn people off of this particular B&B. This B&B is a quick walk from Forsyth Park, a few SCAD buildings and the Synagogue- but then again it's a short walk from one side of the historic district to the other...

Second visit here, and just as perfect! The beds are very comfortable, the breakfast is delicious and the staff treats you like a favored friend. It is a very comfortable atmosphere, coffee is available all day. The rooms are lovely and spacious, the bathrooms are just big enough with plenty of towels and toiletries. Be aware there are steps--a lot. There is absolutely NO access to anything without a few steps, street level is down two steps. Most of those rooms have access to the courtyard for breakfast but you have to let them know you are there, the staff will bring it to you. Order breakfast the day before, the staff is very accommodating to special requests. And the food is great. Take your coffee over to Chatham square in the Togo cup provided and enjoy the view. This visit they were completely booked, yet we felt like we were the most important guest. The staff has guest service perfected!

Stayed here two summers ago and it was absolutely wonderful. The staff was amazing, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was very good. Within walking distance to Forsyth Park which is absolutely gorgeous and if you like walking it's a very beautiful walk to almost any location. Also extremely easy to get to Tybee Island from here. I loved it here so much, I'm going back this summer and taking my fiancé. I can't wait, I'm so excited!

For the price and the good location in the heart of Savannah, this is a sweet place. We did the innkeepers special for two nights and were placed in the Treetop room which is up three flights of stairs from street level. No biggie except for hauling up our medium size suitcase up the slightly narrow old stairwells. The room was nice and has a little kitchen area with a microwave, sink, and fridge. Also a three seat table and a couple chairs in the living/dining area with a TV. Nice queensize bed which was pretty firm which we liked. The headboard is up against the windows facing the street and they aren't very insulating of temp or noise....a little drafty. I actually thought the window was open as i could hear outside so clearly but it is an old brownstone so that's part of the charm for sure. Bathroom was fine but not much space to put your bathroom things out. Free in room Wifi had some issues when it rained but was fast when it worked. Now i'll talk about the second B, breakfast. We enjoyed two and they were both nicely done...french toast and then eggs benedict with juice and coffee in a communal dining area in the main entry house. They also serve a nice array of warm tasty cookies at 8 pm each evening. Get em and then head out for drinks and walk around the beautiful historic city. Parking was a snap as there was a decent amount of available spaces and the hotel takes care of the meter with quarters on travel days and parking passes on full days. Relative stayed in the Azalea room which is on second floor and has two queen beds in two rooms with the second being a main room with chairs and a TV and bathroom. View is out the back which is nothing special at all. You'll have to walk through 1st bedroom to get to 2nd bedroom. Great and very hospitable hotel staff. You'll enjoy your stay. It's quaint and reasonably priced.

We stayed two nights with the Summer Special. The first night we were in the Red Cottage. It was a fantastic two-story with living space downstairs (with a pull out couch and two chairs for seating and a mini fridge and microwave). The sleeping area and bath were upstairs. The second night, we're in the Azalea room, which consisted of two rooms. One room had a nice seating area with two chairs and it had the bathroom. The second room had a bed, a couple of tables, and a smaller chair. Both rooms were nicely decorated and clean. Check out their pictures, not doing it justice. Also, the staff was very friendly and made suggestions on things to do and places to eat. The breakfasts were delicious and be sure to try the afternoon tea and the milk/cookies!

There are a few things this B&B has going for it: it's very conveniently located in the historic district, almost everything is within walking distance, and the staff here are very friendly. We stayed for three nights in the Blue Cottage. I found our cottage to be surface clean. I just had an icky feeling about the carpet that made me want to not be barefoot at all. The tub mat in the bathroom had a tacky feel to it when I first put it down. The bathroom wasn't very clean when we checked in...and bathrooms are my biggest point of contention. The water pressure was just tolerable, but there was plenty of hot water for us. All of the linens were clean--I could smell the (great smelling!) detergent on the towels and bedsheets every day. The bed was firm, but there were six pillows of varying degrees of squishy and firmness. Other than that, mirrors were clean, floors mostly clean, but just to be on the safe side, I washed the mugs in our room before using them. Breakfast. Hmm. I am a personal fan of breakfasts, but there was something to be desired about the breakfasts I had. The first day was huevos rancheros (the beans had not been properly drained and as a result I had a yolky-bean juicy dish), second day was two eggs cooked to order, a biscuit, sausage or bacon, and grits, and the third day was a choice of cinnamon french toast or white truffle french toast made with grocery store sliced bread. The breakfasts weren't bad, but they weren't necessarily gourmet, either. I had a peek in the kitchen and found Kirkland's brand ingredients. Like a couple others have mentioned, you fill out a breakfast order slip the night before with your choice of seating time, however these aren't really regulated, and every day it was a battle to find seating for the three of us together. There were four cats that roamed in the courtyard. Some people claim allergies, but the cats leave people alone for the most part (unless you chose to eat outside, in which case there was one black longhaired cat that was particularly fond of bacon). Other than that, the cats were off elsewhere doing cat things and I rarely saw them. They didn't come looking for attention and didn't try to go in any of the rooms. Would I stay here again? Absolutely, if I had a good deal. They take care of parking for you, and they make an effort to learn names for those staying a few nights. The location is just unbeatable, and some breakfast is better than no breakfast at all. Just don't forget to pack a pair of slippers.

No complaints here! We stayed in the Tomochichi room for two nights last weekend here. The room is actually named after the native american chief that originally sold the land Savannah was built on to General Oglethorpe. Actually all of the rooms at the inn are named after something historic in Savannah. Kind of a neat little thing if you're into the history of the city. Checking in was a breeze. Joey helped us get situated promptly, including a short tour of the inn and it's amenities. We were quickly in out room and settled. The room itself was pretty awesome. Most of it was old exposed brick on one side and the other had several windows and door facing the center patio of the inn. The room was decorated eloquently and it really felt like an older, rustic room, with modern amenities of course. The adjacent patio was really nice, with a garden and plenty of shade, and plenty of cats! This is where we ate breakfast both mornings. I really enjoyed the location of this place. It's right next to Forsyth park which is beautiful. It's also a short walk to River Street, crossing trough several of the squares. It's an even shorter cab ride back, if you've been on RIver Street too long. I'll definitely be returning for another stay here.

We really enjoyed our 4 nights here. The B&B operates a dozen or so units on the block which were formerly separates attached residences. We stayed on the second floor of a renovated carriage house (Camellia Room) and found it quite charming. Very spacious rooms, comfortable beds, quiet and somewhat frou frou old timey decor. Room wasn't particularly dark if that is a major concern for you. A series of cute well-planted courtyards connect many of the rooms and several cats laze about all day. Staff was very attentive and friendly. We enjoyed the quick breakfast service, as well as the complementary afternoon tea and chocolate chip cookies in the evening! We ate our breakfast on the back deck overlooking the courtyard, sunlight filtering through the big moss-covered oaks and loquat trees. Location is fantastic. It's right on Chatham Square, 90 second walk to Bull street and Forsythe Park. Good food in the area too with Mrs. Wilke's and Crystal Beer Parlor right around the corner. We didn't have a car until the last day, but the staff apparently pays your metered parking from 8-11AM so you don't have to wake up early! Only downside was the wifi was spotty at times. Overall very pleasant experience. It's not the most luxurious spot so don't come expecting posh, but its more than adequate and really quite charming. Would stay here again and highly recommend. Did I mention the free cookies?

What a gem! The rooms are beautiful, staff is extremely nice and helpful, and they have gingerbread and brownies waiting for you. I couldn't be more pleased. Tons of character and way quieter than the riverfront, which is only a 10 minute walk away.

We stayed in the Camellia room (up the stairs, through the dining room, out the back door, down the stairs into the courtyard, up the stairs to our own private building) and it was almost perfect. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, the temperature controls spot on. The location is in the middle of the historic district, with everything we wanted to see within a short walk (the tourist area along the river was about 20 minutes walk but enough said about that place). The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast choices were superb. Parking is on the street, but there were plenty of spaces and the Inn provides a permit to put on the dashboard - free parking. We stayed for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. What was less than perfect? Nothing serious. The shower was almost hot enough, and the wifi a bit weak. All things considered I would recommend this place to anyone.

This was a "I'm passing through on a road trip" stay. And it was nice. An old traditional Savannah row home that was charming and the staff was helpful. They are a little walk down to the water, but the walk moves you through a few nice parks and neighborhoods. The rooms are large and comfortable and noise from other rooms isn't an issue. Breakfast is included and I'd recommend getting there early or right near the end to not be crowded or wait for seating. All and all a great alternative to hotel/motels.

We were staying in the Live Oaks suite. It was very spacious and is at the end of the street overlooking Chatham square. It had a private entrance right on the street so it was like having a whole house to yourself. The room also had a microwave, fridge, and coffee pot. The queen bed firm but comfortable. Would have liked some fluffier pillows. The water pressure was nice in the shower. The bathroom is off the bedroom. Breakfast the was very good and portions were filling. They gave you 2-3 different options and the previous day you fill out a card letting them know which option you want. The bnb will also schedule tours for you and place them on your "tab". The concierge was very helpful with suggestions. I highly recommend and we will def be back. For the price you can't beat it for your own place downtown.

This place is just adorable. Our accommodations were elegant, comfortable (oh, those beds!), and clean. I stayed in "Mercer," which has one pro that is also a con: it is very quiet, but it's view isn't great. It looks out over a roof and courtyard, not Chatham Square. I much prefer this however, because I can't enjoy a view from my bed as I'm tossing and turning due to traffic noise. The only other negative from my room was that I had no hot water for my evening shower (at 11 pm). The public spaces are beautifully done and well looked after. Breakfast was delicious and a vegetarian option was offered. Staff were friendly and helpful. All-in-all, I'll definitely be back on my next trip to Savannah.
