Had a lovely visit w/ a friend for a girls weekend in Savannah. The rooms were very nicely decorated but one of the lamps in our room didn't work. We left a note and told the front desk and it was just gone the next day. The cocktail hour is a nice touch and we had fun getting to know our fellow guests. The cons of the stay were the staff who were either super friendly and nice, or cold and apathetic. I was locked out for a good 10 minutes one night because the woman on duty at the front desk took a break and didn't respond to the bell or my frantic knocking. Another guest actually came down from her room to let me in. When the hotel staffer finally showed up, I asked for her name and she refused to tell me and then replied, "You'll find out in the morning." w/ major attitude and went back behind the front desk staff only area. I was furious. The other con was the continental breakfast, which was worse than a Holiday Inn Express. We loved the location, the rooms were HUGE and gorgeous, we even had a Ghost Encounter w/ Charlie, their resident spook. I would normally give only 1 or 2 stars for such horrible service, but most of the rest of the staff were nice. They had 2 problem children that shouldn't be in the hospitality industry.

i get to splurge every now and then and this is it for me. decent room prices for a splurge (not 400/night, but i felt like a high roller dropping 200/night here). charming rooms, 4poster bed with 2 seating areas, plasma tv. we had the breakfast there both mornings, evening cocktail reception, and chocolate turn-down service. the staff was exceptionally friendly with the exception of the night concierge whom was a real jerk-off. the place is beautiful and located within a 2 minute walk of the lively riverwalk area, and 5 minutes of any other cool, touristy spot (and local flavor) of savannah. best of all, they allowed dogs for only 35 bucks.

Holy cow. 20 foot ceilings in our lovely, very comfortable 3rd floor room. We were a bit amazed when we walked in. The personnel were all extremely friendly and capable. Outstanding location, allowing a lot of entering and exiting, which was mandatory in the hellish heat of July. No pool, but a wine and cheese reception at 5:30 and a breakfast (nothing special, but complementary and appreciated).

I got this reservation the night before we spent an overnight in Savannah one our way back home from Holden Beach. I must have got really lucky, because our rickshaw driver told us that the East Bay Inn is usually booked month out and we probably got a canceled room. This has to be one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at. When we got back to the room the bed was turned down, that was a great surprise after a night of eating, drinking, and sightseeing. The rooms are gorgeous and the bed is really, really comfortable. Real hardwood floors and the original brick wall, which is really cool. I would gladly stay here again anytime. They also had complementary cheese and wine, and the best pink lemonade. The only down side, was that I didn't get to see Charlie, their resident ghost. Maybe better luck next time.

We came here for my wife's birthday. We wanted something in walking distance from all Savannah has to offer and had some charm. East Bay is clean, has parking, HUGE rooms, and is in walking distance of everything good. Basically, perfect. We would never go anywhere else.

Way over priced, you are paying for location. Breakfast was nothing remarkable, comparable to staying at a motel six. Staff didn't answer the phone when i called ahead. There is no mini fridge in your room even thou on their website it says they do. It is pet friendly and they give you a nice doggy bag for your dog. Overall I was expecting more for what i paid

Outstanding location, everyone is overly nice and the rooms are stunning. We were on the 3rd floor and had 18 foot ceilings. Within walking distance to all of the squares, river street and night life. Mrs. Sheila at the front desk was amazing and very knowledgeable on the area. The wine, cheese and snack from 5:30-7:30 every day was low key and great please to gather with others and plan your night. We hope to return and would stay no other place.

I stayed here for 3 nights in January. The location is phenomenal. The staff was also very, very friendly and accommodating. However, the bathroom was not the cleanest (hair in the shower floor before we used it and the ceiling over the shower looked a bit damaged), the walls were very thin, and the pillows were lumpy. The room did have character, but if you're in Savannah to check out the history, I would recommend you spend your money elsewhere, such as the Marshall House, Olde Pink House, or 17hundred90. All of those are around the same price, but have historical significance and more amenities (such as wonderful restaurants, 200 year old basement bars with live music, and/or historic happenings and tails of hauntings).

I booked this hotel for my boyfriend's birthday. I didn't want to stay at a corporate hotel (Hilton or Marriot) because I wanted to experience Savannah's southern charm and make it a special weekend. I had heard great reviews of East Bay Inn from a coworker. I booked the cozy queen. I was worried it would be very small, but it was the perfect size for two people. I did book early so I requested the 2nd or 3rd floor. We got a corner room, with a good view of the surrounding area. The ceilings are SO HIGH, which may have been my favorite feature. We needed to park in a parking garage nearby because the lot was full, but this wasn't a problem because we were not using our car while we were in Savannah. The hotel is decorated perfectly to accentuate the old southern charm, exposed brick, and hardwood floor. It seemed to be kept up very well considering how old it was. Every staff member was extremely friendly and accommodating. My parents surprised us with champagne, which the hotel set up to be waiting for us when we arrived (and we got to keep the champagne glasses!). The location is PERFECT for hanging out in historic Savannah. I recommend visiting in October when the weather is cool and the ghost tours are in full force! While the hotel is pricy, I feel it is worth the money, and I would definitely stay here again.

For our first trip to Savannah we wanted to stay in an old hotel with history. We stumble upon and were immediately taken by this beauty. We were given a tour by Melvin the Bell Man before even considering our stay and our breath was taken away by the stunning rooms. Not only is the location centric but got the cheapest price and an AAA discount in addition. The folks are super nice and the amenities top notch. Complementary breakfast was the best I've had in a hotel since I don't remember when. All in all an excellent choice, next time in Savannah we will be staying there for sure. Plus a repeat visit card guarantees a super discount after a few visits. And its pet friendly!!! Enough said, loved this place.

This was mine and my husband's first trip to Savannah. I researched many online sites before choosing The East Bay Inn. We were so pleased, and would absolutely stay there again. On trips to other cities we've opted for larger chain hotels. Savannah seemed like a place to try something different. EBI was charming and beautiful. We were given a third floor corner room facing Bay Street. Some reviews mention excessive noise, however coming from a large, urban area we hardly noticed. Everything was just right. Lovely exposed brick, mile high ceilings, pleasant colors, comfortable bed and seating area. The wine and cheese reception in the afternoon was not crowded and gave us the opportunity to meet other guests and compare notes about restaurants and attractions in the historic district. Excellent location. Close enough to walk to historic sites and along the river, but just enough steps away from the center of activity so that it felt as though you were leaving the party behind and taking a breather. Each and every staff member was friendly and courteous and helpful. When we left each morning there were good recommendations and when we returned each evening we were asked about our day.Cindy even recalculated my bill after I remembered that I had a AAA card. I would definitely encourage friends to choose The East Bay Inn. I hope to return to Savannah soon. It would be fun to go with a group next time.

What an amazing inn. If you are looking for the perfect southern experience; look no further. Everyone is so nice and polite (even around town). The rooms are simply stunning and historic. Free breakfast every day and there's a wine and cheese event that happens around 5 PM. A short walk to the river and a perfect location to walk to the historic squares and downtown Savannah. We came for New Years and the parking was insane. They don't have that many spots available as it is. The staff gave is a 2-day parking pass ($12) for the parking garage across the street. Again, what an amazing place. We are definitely coming back to stay here next time we come visit!

I am not one to post on yelp but our stay was so enjoyable that I had to. For one, the rooms are absolutely beautiful with high ceilings, exposed brick and beautiful drapes and bedding. The complimentary breakfast was excellent, with a wide range of choices and very fresh ingredients. The most amazing part of it all was when my husband left his phone plugged in in the lobby while we were waiting for our cab. We made it all the way to the airport and then he noticed. Sheila from the front desk called me and the manager drove to the airport and dropped it off for us! I was so touched at how they went above and beyond to help us. Amazing.

The East Bay Inn has a very good location for seeing the city and has a very friendly and helpful staff. The room was fine but overlooked the small parking lot. The bed was comfortable and the flat screen TV was good sized. One caveat, there aren't many electrical outlets so if you have lots of gadgets that need charging, you'll have to be creative. As you might expect in an old hotel, the bathroom was tiny. The lobby and breakfast area was a bit run-down but the breakfast was substantial although not gourmet. PROS - location & staff CONS - small bathroom; somewhat worn interiors

We stayed her because we wanted to be by the river. It got good recommendations, but it wasn't as nice as we thought it was going to be. We had a queen room on the first floor. The only room that was available at the time of booking. It had a private patio with french doors. What they don't tell you is they don't clean out there. It was very dark and dirty. Couldn't sit on the chair out there and leaves everywhere. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everyone else in their rooms watching TV and talking. The place was clean, but not great. They offered a breakfast buffet included in the stay. It is served till 10AM. At 9:50AM I went to get up to have another cup of coffee and noticed that they had already taken away the coffee and most of the food.I had to ask for a cup which they did bring me and my husband had to ask for more cereal, which they did bring him. Honestly, they should wait till a few minutes after 10AM to start cleaning up.I wouldn't go back.

You know, some hotels in America are so over consumed with the "In times" and all the state of the art crap that they forget the actual art of hospitality. Not this place. The concierge was lovely and the first question they ask you, is if its your first trip to Savannah. If it is, they give you some great tourist pamphlets (not the cheesy kind) and then give you their recommendations. After you check in, they give you actual old keys (not some electronic slide key)...I mean its brass...like made from the 1800s. Fo realz. The rooms are so cute. Four poster bed, with floral comforters. At first glance your like...um ew. However, its actually really sweet and works perfectly with the whole atmosphere of the hotel. The room is very large, complete with sitting area, large TV and a very luxurious shower. It's in a perfect location to the river and great shops and dare I say...fudge shops. Mmmmm. Everything is within walking distance and the places are one of kind....good luck trying to find any shop like this in LA, NYC or Dallas for that matter. Ok, back to the hotel. Obviously I'm not going to stay anywhere but here. There are honestly a ton of hotels in Savannah, but I think this is the best. Not because its the only place Ive stayed there, but because I cant imagine staying anywhere else....it's that perfect. Enjoy!

It's amazing how some people treat you when you're out with your dog, even at "dog-friendly" places; You'd think that I was walking around shirtless and shoeless, spitting on babies or my (extremely sweet and well-behaved) pup was pooping on everything everywhere. Likewise, getting a clean, decent hotel in downtown Savannah that accepts pets without some obnoxious $100+ pet fee is no easy feat, as I have learned. I'm happy to report that pup and I received no such treatment at the East Bay Inn. On the contrary, the staff was very warm and friendly, our room was small but cute and intimate in all its old-fashion-y Southern 'Rococo' splendor, and OMG, BF and I almost died when we were told about "the complimentary cordials served in the evening." (Unfortunately, we were only staying one night and didn't make it in time for that, but next time, East Bay Inn!)

The staff is SO HELPFUL. They know that you're from out of town and need a little guidance :) The rooms are lovely and clean with gorgeous high ceilings and pretty Southern decor. I didn't get to do two things I would have loved to do: bring my dogs and eat breakfast. Pretty silly, since those two things seem to be at the crux of East Bay Inn's appeal! I slept through check-out by accident and I didn't get ANY flack from the staff. Thank you, and again...sorry! The ONLY thing I would change has nothing to do with my stay, but with the reservation system. It is efficient and easy, but I emailed twice with no response. Everything worked out great, obviously, but that system does not reflect the personal touch that the Inn has.

We've been staying here for years and wouldn't change a single thing about it. They're pet-friendly, personable, and the rooms are uh-mazing -- decorated to the nines with a southern Victorian style that wholeheartedly represents Savannah and its southern charm. Customer service has always been pleasant and prompt. The wine and cheese hour is always a treat to indulge in before your evening plans and their breakfasts are sufficient. Is it haunted? That's up for debate. But I will say that I've gotten the chills more than once when I turned out the lights for beddy-bye time. Just ask the front-desk attendant about Charlotte. Oh and I forgot to mention the location. Placed on Bay Street and Market, East Bay Inn is the perfect local between River Street and the historic district. You can walk anywhere and leave your car parked throughout your stay, which is huge for us because we feel like what better way to see gorgeous Savannah than walking it?!

Next time I stay in Savannah this is where I will stay. The staff are amazing, the rooms are plush & decorated in a romantic fashion, and it's close to shopping & Riverstreet.. My boyfriend & I attended a cocktail hour in the evening with some of the other guests and were treated to a lovely breakfast in the morning. I loved our bellhop Melvin. He was an absolute delight! Very informative too telling us all about the room & cool places to go. We enjoyed a night out on the town and when we returned chocolates on the pillows and the CD player playing romantic music! I enjoyed my experience here. My only problem would have to have been the parking situation...there is not much parking outside the door however, they do have a parking deck near by. Our stay was definitely amazing and I will go back next time I'm in Savannah.

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary. We had always wanted to check out Savannah, and decided to stay here during our visit because of the good reviews and the fact that they are pet friendly! The inn did not disappoint. There were a lot of good things about the place: 1) Very friendly staff- also very helpful! 2) Dog frienfly! We travel with our dachshund and it can be hard to find decent places that allow dogs for a reasonable price. I believe there was a $40 fee for this Inn. 3) Great location- walking distance to everything. 4) Free wifi! There were some things that could be improved as well... 1) Breakfast. YUCK. For a "bed and breakfast" type place, the breakfast was dissapointing. No healthy options... all they had were sausage biscuits, bagels, and some fresh fruit soaked in some kind of really sweet syrup or juice. There is a good breakfast place nearby though (B. Matthews Eatery- go there!) Anyways, it could be improved a ton! 2) Tiny rooms- not a huge deal, but we barely had room to walk around! ALSO- FYI- if you are traveling with a dog. Savannah beaches are NOT dog friendly! Even in the evenings!! Ridiculous. Anyways... we learned the hard way. All in all- great place to stay. :)

Spent 3 nights at this wonderful hotel. The staff was wonderful. The rooms were roomy and cozy. My only complaint is that there wasn't a refrigerator in the room, but as long as you have a cooler, you will be fine. Parking is limited, but they will provide an all day parking pass to a parking deck a block away. Was unexpectedly quiet, especially being near River/Bay Streets. Highly recommended!

Stayed here in April and loved it. One of the nicest rooms I have ever stayed in. We had a great time. The wine and cheese in the afternoon was a great touch. Breakfast was good, the layout was a bit congested, but it worked out. Great location, very close to everything. The staff was helpful. One of the desk staff went above and beyond when we had trouble with our TV. A great choice!

The Inn was nice and had much character. They did a nice job with the breakfast and cordials in the afternoon. Everything to my surprise tasted quite good. The employees were very nice and helpful. I really wanted to give a four star rating however I felt the rooms were dirty. We had a large group so we had three rooms. One on the first floor which was a pet room and two others on the second floor. All three rooms had bathtubs that not drain so you bath in a pool of water and the tubs had a lot of mildew. The floors appeared as if they had not been washed in some time. The first day we got there we had dropped water on the floor and I cleaned it up with a towel and the towel was black. Gross! Then we noticed items left from the persons in the rooms before us. One room had a cork under the table the other had a sock on the floor.This was consistent in all three rooms. We had the pet room and was told that you would not get maid service unless you took the dog out of the room. We did this and put the please service sign on the door, we were we gone the morning and most of the afternoon but, no one serviced the room. The next day we left the dog in the room with the privacy sign and when we returned there was a sign saying they could not service the room but they were leaving clean towels, etc, for us to use. However there was nothing left by the room. I am going to let the Inn know of this maybe it's just a need of meeting or change with their cleaning staff. Location was very good too. It would have almost been perfect if not for the dirtiness.

The wine and cheese reception in the afternoon was not crowded and gave us the opportunity to meet other guests and compare notes about restaurants and attractions in the historic district. Excellent location. Close enough to walk to historic sites and along the river, but just enough steps away from the center of activity so that it felt as though you were leaving the party behind and taking a breather. Each and every staff member was friendly and courteous and helpful. When we left each morning there were good recommendations and when we returned each evening we were asked about our day.Cindy even recalculated my bill after I remembered that I had a AAA card. I would definitely encourage friends to choose The East Bay Inn. I hope to return to Savannah soon. It would be fun to go with a group next time.

It's amazing how some people treat you when you're out with your dog, even at "dog-friendly" places; You'd think that I was walking around shirtless and shoeless, spitting on babies or my (extremely sweet and well-behaved) pup was pooping on everything everywhere. Likewise, getting a clean, decent hotel in downtown Savannah that accepts pets without some obnoxious $100+ pet fee is no easy feat, as I have learned. I'm happy to report that pup and I received no such treatment at the East Bay Inn. On the contrary, the staff was very warm and friendly, our room was small but cute and intimate in all its old-fashion-y Southern 'Rococo' splendor, and OMG, BF and I almost died when we were told about "the complimentary cordials served in the evening." (Unfortunately, we were only staying one night and didn't make it in time for that, but next time, East Bay Inn!)

The staff is SO HELPFUL. They know that you're from out of town and need a little guidance :) The rooms are lovely and clean with gorgeous high ceilings and pretty Southern decor. I didn't get to do two things I would have loved to do: bring my dogs and eat breakfast. Pretty silly, since those two things seem to be at the crux of East Bay Inn's appeal! I slept through check-out by accident and I didn't get ANY flack from the staff. Thank you, and again...sorry! The ONLY thing I would change has nothing to do with my stay, but with the reservation system. It is efficient and easy, but I emailed twice with no response. Everything worked out great, obviously, but that system does not reflect the personal touch that the Inn has.

We've been staying here for years and wouldn't change a single thing about it. They're pet-friendly, personable, and the rooms are uh-mazing -- decorated to the nines with a southern Victorian style that wholeheartedly represents Savannah and its southern charm. Customer service has always been pleasant and prompt. The wine and cheese hour is always a treat to indulge in before your evening plans and their breakfasts are sufficient. Is it haunted? That's up for debate. But I will say that I've gotten the chills more than once when I turned out the lights for beddy-bye time. Just ask the front-desk attendant about Charlotte. Oh and I forgot to mention the location. Placed on Bay Street and Market, East Bay Inn is the perfect local between River Street and the historic district. You can walk anywhere and leave your car parked throughout your stay, which is huge for us because we feel like what better way to see gorgeous Savannah than walking it?!

Next time I stay in Savannah this is where I will stay. The staff are amazing, the rooms are plush & decorated in a romantic fashion, and it's close to shopping & Riverstreet.. My boyfriend & I attended a cocktail hour in the evening with some of the other guests and were treated to a lovely breakfast in the morning. I loved our bellhop Melvin. He was an absolute delight! Very informative too telling us all about the room & cool places to go. We enjoyed a night out on the town and when we returned chocolates on the pillows and the CD player playing romantic music! I enjoyed my experience here. My only problem would have to have been the parking situation...there is not much parking outside the door however, they do have a parking deck near by. Our stay was definitely amazing and I will go back next time I'm in Savannah.

What an amazing inn. If you are looking for the perfect southern experience; look no further. Everyone is so nice and polite (even around town). The rooms are simply stunning and historic. Free breakfast every day and there's a wine and cheese event that happens around 5 PM. A short walk to the river and a perfect location to walk to the historic squares and downtown Savannah. We came for New Years and the parking was insane. They don't have that many spots available as it is. The staff gave is a 2-day parking pass ($12) for the parking garage across the street. Again, what an amazing place. We are definitely coming back to stay here next time we come visit!

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary. We had always wanted to check out Savannah, and decided to stay here during our visit because of the good reviews and the fact that they are pet friendly! The inn did not disappoint. There were a lot of good things about the place: 1) Very friendly staff- also very helpful! 2) Dog frienfly! We travel with our dachshund and it can be hard to find decent places that allow dogs for a reasonable price. I believe there was a $40 fee for this Inn. 3) Great location- walking distance to everything. 4) Free wifi! There were some things that could be improved as well... 1) Breakfast. YUCK. For a "bed and breakfast" type place, the breakfast was dissapointing. No healthy options... all they had were sausage biscuits, bagels, and some fresh fruit soaked in some kind of really sweet syrup or juice. There is a good breakfast place nearby though (B. Matthews Eatery- go there!) Anyways, it could be improved a ton! 2) Tiny rooms- not a huge deal, but we barely had room to walk around! ALSO- FYI- if you are traveling with a dog. Savannah beaches are NOT dog friendly! Even in the evenings!! Ridiculous. Anyways... we learned the hard way. All in all- great place to stay. :)

Spent 3 nights at this wonderful hotel. The staff was wonderful. The rooms were roomy and cozy. My only complaint is that there wasn't a refrigerator in the room, but as long as you have a cooler, you will be fine. Parking is limited, but they will provide an all day parking pass to a parking deck a block away. Was unexpectedly quiet, especially being near River/Bay Streets. Highly recommended!

Stayed here in April and loved it. One of the nicest rooms I have ever stayed in. We had a great time. The wine and cheese in the afternoon was a great touch. Breakfast was good, the layout was a bit congested, but it worked out. Great location, very close to everything. The staff was helpful. One of the desk staff went above and beyond when we had trouble with our TV. A great choice!

We stayed At this charming Inn during the Savannah Music Festival. The service was great! From the time we checked in till the time we checked out. Everybody was very friendly and helpful. We found the rooms very clean. We will be staying at this Inn next time we are in Savannah!

Had a lovely visit w/ a friend for a girls weekend in Savannah. The rooms were very nicely decorated but one of the lamps in our room didn't work. We left a note and told the front desk and it was just gone the next day. The cocktail hour is a nice touch and we had fun getting to know our fellow guests. The cons of the stay were the staff who were either super friendly and nice, or cold and apathetic. I was locked out for a good 10 minutes one night because the woman on duty at the front desk took a break and didn't respond to the bell or my frantic knocking. Another guest actually came down from her room to let me in. When the hotel staffer finally showed up, I asked for her name and she refused to tell me and then replied, "You'll find out in the morning." w/ major attitude and went back behind the front desk staff only area. I was furious. The other con was the continental breakfast, which was worse than a Holiday Inn Express. We loved the location, the rooms were HUGE and gorgeous, we even had a Ghost Encounter w/ Charlie, their resident spook. I would normally give only 1 or 2 stars for such horrible service, but most of the rest of the staff were nice. They had 2 problem children that shouldn't be in the hospitality industry.

i get to splurge every now and then and this is it for me. decent room prices for a splurge (not 400/night, but i felt like a high roller dropping 200/night here). charming rooms, 4poster bed with 2 seating areas, plasma tv. we had the breakfast there both mornings, evening cocktail reception, and chocolate turn-down service. the staff was exceptionally friendly with the exception of the night concierge whom was a real jerk-off. the place is beautiful and located within a 2 minute walk of the lively riverwalk area, and 5 minutes of any other cool, touristy spot (and local flavor) of savannah. best of all, they allowed dogs for only 35 bucks.

Holy cow. 20 foot ceilings in our lovely, very comfortable 3rd floor room. We were a bit amazed when we walked in. The personnel were all extremely friendly and capable. Outstanding location, allowing a lot of entering and exiting, which was mandatory in the hellish heat of July. No pool, but a wine and cheese reception at 5:30 and a breakfast (nothing special, but complementary and appreciated).

The Inn was nice and had much character. They did a nice job with the breakfast and cordials in the afternoon. Everything to my surprise tasted quite good. The employees were very nice and helpful. I really wanted to give a four star rating however I felt the rooms were dirty. We had a large group so we had three rooms. One on the first floor which was a pet room and two others on the second floor. All three rooms had bathtubs that not drain so you bath in a pool of water and the tubs had a lot of mildew. The floors appeared as if they had not been washed in some time. The first day we got there we had dropped water on the floor and I cleaned it up with a towel and the towel was black. Gross! Then we noticed items left from the persons in the rooms before us. One room had a cork under the table the other had a sock on the floor.This was consistent in all three rooms. We had the pet room and was told that you would not get maid service unless you took the dog out of the room. We did this and put the please service sign on the door, we were we gone the morning and most of the afternoon but, no one serviced the room. The next day we left the dog in the room with the privacy sign and when we returned there was a sign saying they could not service the room but they were leaving clean towels, etc, for us to use. However there was nothing left by the room. I am going to let the Inn know of this maybe it's just a need of meeting or change with their cleaning staff. Location was very good too. It would have almost been perfect if not for the dirtiness.
