I came in here very early on a Saturday for breakfast and thought this diner was just fine as a place to go for a basic meal when you want something quick and nothing fancy. It's open 24 hours, which is a big plus. At 5:00 AM I was surprised there was already a fairly decent number of patrons. It seemed like it was something of a local hangout. They have a counter where you can sit and a number of booths. The kitchen is right behind the counter, so you can watch them cook your breakfast. I noted they were using real eggs and not scrambled egg mix. I had scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage and a biscuit. The eggs and hash browns were fine. The sausage patty was a little too greasy for my tastes, and was a thin type of patty, not a link. The biscuit was a little dry. Service was real quick and friendly. This diner is simile in concept to Waffle House (which happens to have a location almost right across the street), but I would recommend this place over Waffle House. The food and serve quality might be a notch higher here, and I like supporting small local businesses. The building and design is also real cute.

I'm going to be honest, the four stars is strictly for their dessert selection and service. Otherwise, it's definitely a solid 3+ stars as far as diners go. The staff is friendly. From the moment you walk in, you are treated like a "regular", even if it's your first visit. From the door you can't help but see the fridge full of desserts. Giant slices of carrot cake, delicate cups of key lime mousse, even heaping slices of apple pie- they beg to be ordered with a large glass of cold milk. The Diner itself is rather kitschy. It is reminiscent of an old rail car diner- narrow in width and shiny with chrome. The menu shows a definite nod to the owner's Greek roots with Spanakopita and Gyros sharing space with pancakes and french fries. It is worth a visit any time.

5 star professionalism for a diner. Even late at night very patient and awesome place. A lot of menu choices even late. Coffee was great and even have baked cakes and goods.

Love the food and the pure "Americana" diner feel, but the owner/shift-manager verbally berating her employees definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.

Gross. The omlets were incredibly Greasy. It was a vegetable omlet but it had cheese in it. The grits were tasteless ..my dad got a vegetarian wrap..the lettuce was all droopy and brown. They forgot to put the Sauce on it as well. Being from jersey which is probably the king of all states for the best diners around.. this place didn't live up to my standards. Probably the worst diner food I have ever had.

The costumer service here was amazing. I would recommend coming here to anyone and everyone in the area. Especially if you need dinner really late after traveling. The restaurant itself was very clean, renovated, and well maintained. The food was hot, fresh, and fast. The presentation far exceeded my expectations.

on our first night in savannah we had no idea where to eat, it was late, we were tired having been on a plane all day flying from the west coast...i checked on line to see what was close-by. this diner, looked pretty good... and it was great. hubby had an abercorn omelette w/o onions and he was very happy with it. the hash browns and raisin toast were perfect. the fixings in the omelette were fresh and tasty. my bacon/cheddar omelette was everything i wished it to be. the perfect amount of melted cheddar, well done bacon. totally exceptional.

A good diner. I think the food was a bit above diner-esk type places (Denny's, IHOP, etc) Our waitress was nice and attentuve even though the place was packed from when we got there and had a line to get in when we left. I kind of felt jipped because I am pretty sure the owner(s) were there and I didn't get to see the shenanigans described in other low star reviews. I just saw business owners over seeing a well run restaurant. I could see a bit of cray in the lady owner but sometimes I think you need to have a hint of crazy to be successful in bussiness. Both owners were working as welk as over seeing the place. We would totes dine there again.

I've only been for breakfast and it has always been good. That being said they only have 2 tables big enough for a party of five or more. every weekend I come in its packed and they have at least one of those table filled with just 2 people. ???? Let 2 people wait 5 minutes for another table and save those for the bigger groups at 11 o clock! they sat six people before us when we were there first and tried to stuff the five of us in a tiny little booth. I'm over 6' 8 tall ! Also, so many groups of 2 who came in 10 min after us got their food way before us and actually finished and left before we got our food. if you are in a group of 4 or more they will make you wait and wait. just watch how many who come in after you, and order after you, get their food right away

This diner is located near the Quality Inn Motel on Abercorn, this was where my friend and I were staying on our trip. With the many culinary selections that Savannah has to offer, there is nothing regarding this diner that is remarkable. I would stand to offer that this is a favorite amongst locals and teenagers, as it was quite busy when we went one late evening on our way back from Charleston we ventured in, looking for dessert, my friend ordered a large piece of Chocolate cake and I opted for an Ice Cream Sundae. This diner does not offer Hot Fudge, they only have Hershey syrup and the vanilla ice cream seemed to have been sitting for awhile as it had ice on it. My friend enjoyed her cake, but was taken aback at what they charged for it. The service was good, very friendly and spoke to you as if you were an old friend. All in all when I come back to Georgia this would not be a place I would return too, as the food did not leave a lasting impression, though I did appreciate the Southern hospitality so I'm giving it 3 stars.

Stopped here after being away from the states for year. I decided to get a typical American diner breakfast, and it was delicious. There is nothing quite like the way hashbrowns, eggs, and pancakes go together. The waitress in with her service was excellent, and the food was hot and fresh. I also feel like everyone in the diner was happy that I had come I even though the diner was filling up with other patrons. Overall, it was an excellent way to welcome myself back to the United States.

Horrible! New owner raised the prices and she is a very RUDE B.....! Friday night she storms in about 11pm, stands near the back of the dining area and starts yelling at employees with the place half full of customers. Proceeded to stand in the back kitchen yelling at employees so everyone could hear her. It was embarrassing for everyone in there. She wouldn't let the servers come back to their customers and started firing the employees yelling at them to get out! Then she had a waitress lock the doors and started yelling at customers who complained about the noise and scene she was making. That woman does not know a thing about business or customer service. I will not return! You'd be wise to stay clear of this rat hole. There are plenty of other 24 hour places along Abercorn. Not even worth the 1 star rating.

So I'm on my way to Florida for the next few months and I stopped in Savannah, GA. Diner on Abercorn is this little sixties throwback that opened in 1995 (year I was born woohoo!). It took a minute or two to get someone to my table and they actually greeted a table that sat after me first, but it's a diner not the Ritz so I'll get over it. First impressions: clean, friendly, smells like the breakfast of champions. It basically feels like a family owned Waffle House so far. I'd also like to point out that I am the only out of state license plate in the parking lot--obviously the locals like it. Burger looks just about as good as any diner if not a little better, plus they cook to temperature to order (rare, medium, well, and all that's in between) First bite of the Texas BBQ Burger was quite impressive. Grilled onions are tender but not mush, fries are just right if not perhaps a TINY bit overdone. So far so good. So the burger was flavorful, cooked the way I wanted, and all around just pretty great. Ran into a few underdone fries but no harm done. All in all it's a nice little place. Good prices with discounts for college students, seniors, and military. My first meal in savannah is a success. TTFN

This place was great!!! I had a waffle with fresh blueberries, bacon, and an iced tea. My daughter had the 2 egg special with pancakes, bacon, and hash browns. The waffle was deeeelish!!!! The bacon wasn't all that great , but it was edible. My daughter snarfed down her food very quickly, so I will assume it was good!! The owner was our waitress, and she was as sweet as can be!! When I go to Savannah, I will definitely eat there again!!

The Diner on Abercorn is somewhere we have repeatedly gone in the past two years that we have lived here. It's run by a Greek couple, so like a typical North Eastern diner you will find Greek foods here. The food is cheap, the owners are nice, and it's one of a few places that you can get something to eat late at night or early in the morning. There seems to be a high turnover of wait staff, so your experience will always be different. Sometimes the server is anew and won't be as experienced, but it does not take away from the restaurant. They have adorable and delicious desserts that you have to try!
