We got the "early bird special" for $29. It was overpriced and average. We paid $80 plus including tip for an average meal and two iced teas. The service was great. The dessert fondue tasted like someone warmed up Hershey's syrup, it looked like it as well. It has been about seven years since we have gone to The Melting Pot and it will probably take another seven years before I forget this average experience and go again. I love the concept but the food just wasn't worth the price.

Our experience started out less than perfect with our server. After bringing it to the attention of the manager, he stepped in and took total control of the situation. Made our 1st date night in over 8 months very enjoyable. Nothing but good things to say about the food. Dustin the general manager was very helpful and professional. And our new server Connor was absolutely perfect. Thanks again, Antoine S.

What can you say about Melting Pot? It is the quintessential fondue restaurant...the service is outstanding, the food is very good and, now, with their approach to fondue...it "feels" healthier...not sure it really is, but it does feel that way. Ok... Cheese...first course...always good...you can choose between several types and they are all outstanding! Salads...second course...again, always good (maybe a touch overdressed at times)...and they have four choices...again, all are good Entrees...third course...nice selection of different meats, seafood and veggies...make your own and enjoy! Chocolate...fourth course...hmmm...chocolate fondue...what could POSSIBLY be wrong with that? Just go...

We frequently visit the Melting Pot and have been to many locations. We had recently experienced very long dinners and strange tasting courses at this location and were beginning to think we would have to drive to the Kennesaw location instead of being close to home. Our server this time, Collin, was wonderful - even when his other table was demanding and loud and he took great care of us. He made it so we would definitely be back - and we have. We dined in last week as well and Jaco was our server. He is outstanding. I would fill out a survey for him as well but I lost that receipt! They are both exceptional servers and made our experience perfect. The food was just as we expected - delicious. Our favorite restaurant!

Some friends from college and I come here every year. It's our yearly Christmas tradition. I really have no idea how it started, but it doesn't look like it's going to end any time soon. This Melting Pot location is smaller than most of the others I've visited. We're usually here on a weeknight, which means that the place really isn't busy. Service can be hit or miss. On some occasions, service has been super attentive and we didn't have to ask for anything. On other occasions, you would have though the server had gone home. All in all, this an okay location. Nothing about this location is very different from any of their other locations. You pretty much know what you're gonna get here. Average service, average fondue.

I knew my husband wasn't going to take us here, so I jumped at the chance for a GNO Friday night dinner. Cheese, wine, chocolate, steak, and estrogen made for an outstanding experience. Our party of 16 were treated like queens by 2 waiters. They were fabulous and very helpful. Rolled out of there after 4 hours!!!! I drank tea, but I swear I felt tipsy driving home. Must have been a carb high ir something. So tipsy I tried to wakey wakey the old man at midnight. He said I smelled like a bag of tortilla chips dipped in curry!@! Smelled my clothes and damn jumped in the shower to get the melting pot steamed pot odor off of me!!!! That was my only complaint though... Everyone had a happy ending.

My group of 3 (one member was stuck on a layover!) came on a Sunday (Dec. 7 2014) in the early evening in December. It wasn't crowded, so it was quiet and calm. It's a tradition for my college roommate and I to do for fondue-- we loved Dante's Down the Hatch, but this is what we have now. It doesn't have the character of Dante's, but it's classy. It's overpriced and expensive. You are paying to cook your own food. Please don't be confused. :-P I didn't have a drink this time, but I've found that the drinks vary wildly by bartender. We were here over the summer and I had a very weak mixed drink. It was pretty, but didn't do much! I'm personally a vegetarian, so I don't enjoy boiling veggies in a pot with other people's meat, so we typically avoid the entrees and it works out pretty great! We go for: The Swiss Cheese The Beer Cheddar Cheese....with the wheat bread, apples, and veggies Salads (everyone picks their own)-- I like the caramelized pine nuts especially as a topping. Chocolate!! The Flaming Turtle, the Pure White or Milk Chocolate, The S'mores...any of these are great. You can also ask for extra dipping things if you run out! Here's the only thing about this experience-- we had a great server, a nice guy in his 20's. For some reason, the manager came to check on us (Perhaps because we weren't ordering entrees?) and she very awkwardly stayed at the table, talking with us, trying to butt into our conversations. She also had long flowy sleeves, and she kept reaching over my boyfriend's food and drink to mess with the pot or refill our waters. That was kind of gross. I mean, we are eating food. IDK if you've bathed yourself or your clothes. Ick.

I don't go without gift cards anymore. $85 got us a 5 oz glass of wine, 2 salads that each were consumed in 5 bites, maybe 12 oz. total of protein (chicken, salmon, shrimp, mahi & sirloin), chocolate fondue for 1 (probably the only reason I would go without a gift card), excessive upselling from our server and the smell of The Melting Pot in our car/purse for days.. It's okay once in a while for something different, but it's not worth making a habit out of.

I will start off saying that if you come here expect a three hour meal. Service was great. Our burner at our table did not work until our waitress brought a portable burner to put on top of it. We did not enjoy the smell of burnt plastic as we ate. I can see this place great for a date night with only the dessert fondue. Do not bring your kids unless they are well behaved, and know what hot means.

It's tough to write this review because I feel that a lot of other reviews aren't really addressing the restaurant, and focus too much on the price. It's $50 a person for the four-course meal with the nicest stuff and around $35 a person for the low-end 4 course meals meals (which are still very good). You can add various things to the meal, inflating the price dramatically from there, but it can be very pricey. In the same breath, you can also just order cheese and leave for less than $10 a person and no one is going to bat an eye at you, and you're probably going to be full (I get full halfway through the cheese fondue). Likewise, cheese and desert is less than $20. No one at The Melting Pot is going to strong-arm you into the "full experience" and you're not a lesser person for not going for it because honestly you'll need a wheelbarrow and a week's worth of hardcore dieting to recover from it. So by no means, should you be afraid of the price, unless you want a giant bowl of cheese, a salad, a platter of various meats, and a giant bowl of chocolate. I've done this a few times now and each time I feel honestly like I need a nap immediately from how full I am, it's not fun afterwards. So, while you can spend up to $50 a person, it's very reasonable to spend $10 or $20 and be out the door rather happy. Now if you do the four course experience, expect to be there for around two or three hours, depending on the number of people with you. You'll need to wait for the cheese pot to get hot, the cheese to melt and cook, the time to eat the cheese small tiny bites of bread and fruit at a time, time to move through the salad, time to wait on your cooking liquid to get warm, time to eat a frenzy of small pieces of meat each of which need to cook for around a minute, and finally time to move through the chocolate as your body is begging you to quit the abuse. Each of these is insanely tasty and decadent, and depending on your fondue skills, the meat can be some of the best you'll eat in your life due to the succulent bouillon and the ability to actually cook things like lobster to something other than a chewy shoe leather. I've ate a lot of Melting Pot in the last ten years at many locations (several at this one), and each is so memorable just for the flavor. This location might even be one of the best, due to the staff. Before I talk about that, let me get over a huge misnomer here - you do cook your food yourself, but you don't prepare it. I hear / read a lot of "hrmph, you have to cook the food yourself" and yeah, I guess, technically you do, but they prepare the cheese live in front of you, the bouillon is created in the back by them, and they add fresh components as it cooks in front of you, the meats are hand cut into small delicate bites (crab claws for instant have a perfect cut around them exposing the crab meat) that look beautiful, and they have to prepare the chocolate - all of it with very fresh ingredients. You do skewer and cook the meat, but that's part of the experience you're paying for, including the fact you'll likely consume one of their booths for hours while you do it. As for this location, I want to comment on how great the staff are. Even on my birthday, one of those days that a good restaurant suddenly turns bad, they were the nicest, kindest, sweetest people alive. From the manager who is very personable and is very, very concerned with you having a great experience, to the various waiters who give honest advice and don't try to upsell, they are a delight. The food and entire experience is amazing, as well. I highly recommend though to skip out on ordering the entire four courses and get what your stomach can handle a la carte. Like I previously stated, 2 courses can run you around $20, which is likely, unless you're some kind of professional eater, more than enough food to make you happy.

My husband I had an impromptu date night on Thursday to combat the kids being sick, my back hurt, and just an overall exhausting week. We had planned on going for Valentine's Day but I was much happier on this quiet evening. Our server, Shaun, was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. We felt well attended to without being "too" attended too if you know what I mean. My husband has Celiac Disease so we were overjoyed when they told us about all the GF options. I knew from the corporate site they had GF options on the menu, what I wasn't aware of was the breads, brownies, and pound cake they carried as well for us! We got to TMP around 715 pm and languished in our meal until around 9pm. It was wonderful and was the perfect Valentine's Day treat. Now that we know about all the amazing GF options we will be back soon. We had: Wisconsin Trio (heavy on the BC) with GF brown bread, fresh vegetables, and apples Caesar Salads (minus the croutons) Coq au vin cooking style with Land and Sea for him and the cajun one for me Chocolate PB fondue with brownies, pound cake, bananas, strawberries, marshmallows, and pineapple.

It was fun, but it was something wife and I would not do again. We paid $90 not including tip for the 4 course meal (appetizer, salad, proteins (shrimp, filet mignon, chicken). Dessert was great however. To sum up, it was fun, but pricey. You can go and just get dessert, and that's what we may do in the future.

I just can't justify spending $100 to go to a place with my husband where we still have to cook our own food. Sure, it's tasty, but for the portions we're given, it's just not a great value. So how then does Melting Point get three stars? 1) Our server was great. Service was on point for the whole meal. The courses came out evenly spaced. Most importantly, our drink glasses were never empty. 2) The food was tasty. While portions were small, I did enjoy the whole menu offering. 3) Ambiance. I like the low lighting, good music, and attentive staff. Now here's the sad part: at 10 p.m. on a Friday night, we might have been some of the oldest people in the place, because there were a lot of high school girls running around. It wasn't homecoming, or prom...it was just the fact we were OTP in Roswell on a Friday. And at $8.95 a person for cheese, $19.95 for 4 pieces of raw steak, 4 raw shrimp, and 4 mushroom "sacchetti" which were really ravioli...when we did the math, it would have been more cost effective for us to spend the same amount our party of 6 threw down for a real fondue party at our place ITP. Granted we'd still have to cook our own food, but we'd be inside the city limits.

Went there for my birthday on Monday and was happy we chose it. We had the wisconsin trio cheese fondue, the coq au vin broth with te vegetarian and the classic. My girls shared a classic also. I thought that my vegetarian was really great as it had a nice varity of veggies plus a couple of raviolis. The blue cheese and the green goddess sauce went really great with my dish. The wisconsin trio cheese fondue was divine and our server always asked us if we wanted more dippers which I appreciated. The best part was the chocate marshmallow oreo crum fondue for dessert! It was fantastic!!! My only complaint is that they wanted to charge me 19.99 or 24.99 for each of my girls(the server wasn't even sure of the price) which seems like a bit of a rip-off considering they are 4 and 7. One more thing, our server Colin was a sweetheart and very attentive. Im so glad i got the chance to go after almost 10 years of not going there!

Pretty decent but pricey. Everything was delicious except for the entree, which could have just been due to a poor choice of cooking style (everything was boiled???). We choked it down but I wouldnt pay for that again. Service was great even though we had to ask for a second set of silverware because our first set was crusty. It happens bit definitely sets the wrong tone for the night as this is one of the first things you notice. Id go back for the cheese fondue and the chocolate fondue, both of which were amazing.

Food was awesome... service not so much. My boyfriend and I went to this Melting Pot to celebrate my birthday. Our food was excellent (I mean, how can you go wrong with fondue??). Our server was very suave with the older ladies in the booth next to us but our service was horrendous. He kept trying to make small talk with clearly, made up stories about his life. On top of that, he offended my boyfriend and me with an ignorant remark regarding our nationality. Note to ignorant server: Please do not assume that all Asians are from China.

Really slow service. Lots of little mistakes with coursing. The meat was just not good cooked in the reg not extra charged for pot. Literally like boiled water meat for 40 bucks!! Couldn't even eat it. By the time it got to dessert I was so annoyed I didn't even want to eat anything else.

If you are considering going here, you most likely already know the deal, so here are the bullet points: Pros ---------- - great food - reasonably priced food - nice atmosphere - booths are private - staff is friendly without being intrusive - if the food isn't cooked right, no one to blame but yourself! - the meal can take 3 hours Cons ------------ - wines are overpriced - the meal can take 3 hours Overall, the Melting Pot is always a fun night out, good for groups, friends, or a romantic night out. We'll be back!

Our server Chris was extremely accommodating and helpful. We decided to split the appetizer, split the entree, and TRIED to split a dessert (but was so stuffed couldn't even make it to that point). Cheese fondue = $15 for two people = cheddar cheese, beer, and more more cheese. It was awesome. They give you chopped apples, bread chunks, and veggies (unlimited). Main course fondue = $20 = french quarter = way too salty = I might suffer from a severe imbalance of sodium after this. Better order the basic land and sea combo instead (unseasoned). Chose to cook it in oil so I can make my own tempura style veggies and meat. You can also ask for extra veggies (potatoes, broccoli, and mushrooms). Totally free of charge. Margarita = $10 = WEAK and expensive. Overall = I love Melting Pot and will always love, love fondue! The service really was OUTSTANDING and made the experience a 5 star one...I just wish the food wasn't so salty and the margarita had more of a kick to it.

We go here with family and friends every once in awhile - I cannot call it dining, as it is always the same, but the kids like it and fondue is fun to eat Personally, I like the plain or classic cheese, and the chocolate fondues the best - we always get the meat and vegetables, but they are never quite as good as I would like - perhaps I just like grilled food better? In any event, this is a solid choice and the food is consistent

Very difficult to find anything nice to say about this experience. We had a group of 10 ladies and actually sat across from Andrea who left a review on 1/31. I saw the experience they had and also when they spoke with the manager. Our waiter as well was missing in action, and when he did show up he was extremely rude when I asked if my meat could either have a separate pot or cook in the back as I do not eat pork or anything that touched pork. Also, the pots with the cooking juice boiled down to almost nothing before the meat came. After three hours for dinner we asked for our dessert to go and were told it was too big an effort for them, but they would do it if we insisted but would take an additional half hour. Sorry but $100 for 2 people is ridiculous to be treated like crap. Food that was substandard and to leave the place hungry. Also, this price did not include any alcohol. All I can say is NEVER AGAIN

i don't know who our waiter was. i really wish i could remember because i'd recommend him. he was kind of all into his shtick and pretty good at it. you'll know you have the same guy if he goes into a story about curryaki and presents you with an informal survey of one question. went with a group of friends and did the "big night out". it was pretty good... i am really surprised at how good protein tastes when dunked in a hot bath of vegetable broth. anyway, it was a fun one-time thing for me ... but at that price point, i want my steak on a grill. :) if you haven't tried it though, you really should. it would make for a romantic dinner, a night out with friends, etc. they give you plenty of food so you won't leave hungry.

I'm really entertained by those comments below. If you know it's gonna be a expensive place, then don't judge on its price. Just find some cheap place instead.

Often it is when things go wrong that we find out the true nature of a restaurant. After posting here, the owner of the restaurant contacted us. Then the manager actually called to apologize. They also offered to comp a meal for us (which we declined and the apology to us was enough). So I am updating my review from 1 star to 3 stars. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Don't spend your Birthday here. We requested a happy birthday song for the birthday girl when we checked in (to manager) and again to our server when she greeted us at the table. At the end of the meal there was no Happy B-day song. We reminded the server. Her response: "Are you serious?" We said: "yes". She said: "We don't do that". We talked to the manager and the manager said "it is not company policy to sing Happy Birthday". This was on a Thursday at 5:30pm and there was ONLY 1 other table occupied in the place. They were not busy, just rude. WHY DID YOU NOT TELL ME when I checked in? The birthday girl went home crying. NEVER again. We spent $50 per person, the portions were small and the service sucks. I am emailing the owners of the restaurant to place a formal complaint about the service.

Not a place I would normally go, I got talked into it to celebrate the brother-in-law's Father's day. Over-all, I'll have to admit that I liked both the food and the experience. If you've ever tried a "hot pot" style restaurant, where the server starts some brother and you keep adding veggies and meats, it's a very similar concept. In "hot pot" restaurants the goal is to build a custom Asian soup - the ingredients are used to up-lift the broth which is ladled-out and consumed in the course of the cooking. In fondue the goal is to cook the meats in broth to be eaten with a variety of sauces. That's the main course in a nutshell, and perhaps the least gratifying of the entire meal - what makes fondue special is the beginning cheese course and the ending chocolate dessert. At the Melting Pot, our party of 4 adults and 2 kid were offered a special $25 per person Father's Day menu - it made things easier selection-wise but even on the main menu the experience is the same - you select from a list of cheeses for the appetizer course, a salad, one of the meat or vegetarian "groupings" for the main, and then a chocolate for the dessert. In a party our size we could get two different of each type: Swiss and cheddar for the cheese course, two different broths for the main, and two different chocolates for dessert. On our side of the table we choose the classic Swiss - Gruyère and Emmenthaler cheeses melted in white wine with garlic, a hint of nutmeg, fresh lemon and Kirschwasser (brandy floated on top). With that you get a bowl of bread chunks and a bowl of veggies to dip - pretty simple and very satisfying. The cheddar and Emmenthaler Swiss cheeses on the other side of the table included a beer base, garlic, and a flambe of 151. Both were very tasty and brought back memories of those classic fondue sets everyone seemed to have in the 70s. We all choose the Caesar salad - nothing special here although they do something different by coating whole pine nuts which were a little distracting. The dressing was right on though, which is one of my biggest complaints of most Atlanta restaurants (most drown the romaine in rivulets of dressing). For the entree, I choose the Signature Selection: filet mignon, shrimp, teriyaki-marinated sirloin, chicken breast and salmon. These all come in bite-sized chunks. You place these on skewers (you get three so that may can be cooking at the same time) and pull them out when ready. Nothing really special about this part of the meal in my opinion although there is some timing involved to make sure nothing is overcooked - you also get a bowl of veggies (broccoli, potatoes, mushrooms) that's easier to fish out with a provided slotted spoon. The portions aren't very large so by the time you've completed the course you're ready for the "optional" dessert (it's just enough food that you still have space for what's to come). The dessert course is really a stand-out - we opted for dark chocolate (there are other selections including the usual chocolates, but also a "turtle" fondue, bananas foster, etc - you get the idea). To dip is a selection of strawberries, bananas, cheesecake, brownie, pound cake and small rice-crispie squares - the latter is particularly good. If you're into dark chocolate (which I much prefer over the sweet milk-chocolates), this is a superior dessert. In all, I believe everyone had a great time - it's a good experience for social gathering and kids love the interaction. The place wasn't noisy and the ambiance was old-European style (wood, leather, booths built around tile-covered tables with an element for the fondue pot in the center). If you're int he mood for something different, you could do much worse - and although it's not a place I would frequent, I wouldn't mind going again, even if it's for nothing but the dessert. By the time you add in drinks and any options (some of the broth types incur additional costs), you're well into $30-40 per person, so be aware of that.
