I've been coming here for a very long time, finally writing this. Exactly what you would expect from a family owned Greek spot in Alpharetta. In a very old 'no name' strip shopping center on Hwy 9 & Mansell Rd. The service is amazingly speedy, the food is fresh & yummy & so reasonably priced it's crazy. Like many of the reviews, you don't come here for the ambiance, you come for very good food, quickly served, the pleasant service & Greek food. . I have lived in many of our country's major food cities & this is a keeper absolutely worth a visit soon. Very loyal crowd.

Great lunch for a great price. Gyro wrap with fries for $7! Plenty of food to fill you up and the service is always really quick and efficient. Definitely recommend.

This place has been bookmarked for the longest time, but I finally got the opportunity to go here. Went here with a friend for lunch last last Friday, and I found this place to be quite cozy. The cashier was friendly as she pointed out various items to order. BTW, you first order at the counter then pick up the food when it's called over the speakers. The late lunch crowd here was pretty decent so the place seems to be popular enough. The souvlaki (pork) wrap was pretty tasty. The meat portions were pretty generous. The sauce gave it flavor and made it messy as you try to take a bite into this huge wrap; even my friend was full at the end. The baklava wasn't super overwhelmingly sweet. When you bite into it, you can taste the sweet syrup, but it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet. Pretty good I must say. My friend would beg to differ since he said this place wasn't as comparable as the place near his house. Overall, a cute place for a decent price and amount of food. A customer said everything on their menu was good. She had heard me comment about how I wanted to try the burger but thought otherwise since this was more of a Mediterranean place. Perhaps I will visit here again on another lunch outing. Parking was pretty plentiful since this complex wasn't super popular even though it's huge.

Good Gyro lunch spot. Service is fast and the food is good and affordable. Be sure to try the greek potatoes instead of fries.

Best gyros ever!!! The service here is always consistent. It is family owned and I love to be able to support a small family owned a business. The prices are very reasonable.

YES. Why did it take me over FOUR years to visit this place? I've always passed this place and never gave it a second thought until recently. We visited on a rainy, cold night and left planning our next trip back. This is a no-frills establishment. You can tell it's family owned and needs updating. The fake plants around the restaurant are all dusty and they are rocking art from the 1996 Olympics. The chairs scrap against the floor and the booths have lost their cushioniness. But I didn't come for ambiance, I came for food. In the same no-frills manner, ordering is simple and obvious. There is no doubt how the system works when you enter. You order at the counter and grab your food when it's ready. It's like Zaxby's. I ordered the souvlaki plate and the husband ordered the gyro plate. We also ordered two fountain drinks and a small thing of baklava. It came to about $25. We found a table by the window and waited for our food. in 5 minutes we were called to get our order. YES. Souvlaki plate - pork, sliced pita break, Greek potatoes and a Greek Salad. ^ Exactly what I wanted. Served on disposable plate with disposable silverware, the presentation isn't Ritz-quality. I destroyed the Greek salad first. Crisp lettuce, fresh sliced tomatoes and feta cheese- what's not to love? The pork was cooked perfectly, not too dry and not too chewy. I made little sandwiches with the pita and house-made tzatziki sauce. Gyro plate - sliced lamb with sliced pita bread, Greek potatoes and a Greek Salad. ^ Such a typical order for my husband. He considers himself privvy to Greek food knowledge and was pleasantly surprised with his meal. He practically licked his plate clean. Baklava - sticky, sweet and coated in honey. We couldn't finish the two pieces we ordered, so we took it home. It went well with a glass of milk. We've been back twice already and we'll probably go back this week!

Lived in Roswell for three years and never noticed this was in the same plaza as the Roswell Post Office. Family run and the food comes out pretty fast. Tried the gyro plate and it was pretty darn good. Pita was fresh and warm and the fries were good. I admit that I never gave this place a second look because the Roswell Post Office plaza is a bit sketchy. Worth a try if you are in the area.

Good customer service and full of patrons, but don't get the falafel. It's the worst falafel I've ever had. I may try again and get the chicken plate or chicken wrap.

Great food done quickly and fresh. Gyro is not too dry like most and Feta is fresh and flavorful. Menu not real deep but good.

I have been coming here for years and haven't found a bad item on the menu. The food is tasty, the owners are very nice and personable, and the food is served fresh and fast. Oh, and did I mention that it is very reasonably priced? If you are looking for an ultra-hip place with an experimental menu, keep on driving. But if you are looking for good food served with good vibes, this is your place.

When i worked on Mansell Rd. we called this place "Speedy Greek" because you place your order and before you sit down they call your number. Great food. Always fresh and served hot. Good selection reasonable prices. Stop in every chance I get and never disappointed.

My husband and i love this place!! Everyone is so friendly, affordable and quick service!! I love the gyro salad and that sauce with pita bread! We always ask for extra pita. My husband always tries something different and loves everything. The entire feel of this restaurant feels like home and "mom's cooking." Be careful because you might get hooked lol

  • Elvis J.

Decent "fast food" Greek. Counter service with fairly longs lines but seem to move quickly. Disappointed that the Tzatziki sauce is from jar not made in house. This is one of the easiest sauces to make fresh, not sure why they skimp. Also cheesecake appeared to be an instant box recipe.

  • Julie B.

The staff is so nice, friendly, and willing to joke around. Ingredients are fresh, and the servings sure are filling. I can only vouch for their gyro wrap and plate, though; they're decently good. While it's not the most authentic Greek food out there, for the price and the speed, this place is the best. They get your meal to you in an instant! Not even joking.

I love this place. It's kind of hidden in a shopping center. I love the variety of food - although I prefer their greek food - they do have all kinds of other offerings. Service is quick and the food is tasty. My go to is their greek salad (with some awesome feta), and a side of tuna. The tuna comes with warm pita bread that taste very fresh. I would also recommend their Falafel Wrap. The Spaghetti and their hamburger is also good. Great place to stop for a quick dinner if you are on your way to a movie around the corner. Or if you are just stopping in for lunch. Personally I love places like this and hope that others can enjoy it too.

  • Tu H.

Fast and friendly service. The gyro plate is great. Good portion, plenty of meat. The sauce is what makes the entire dish. It goes great with the salad, the gyro, or the fries. Get extra sauce if you are taking out. Best Greek gyro I have ever eaten! Stop reading and go there already!

Great "fast food style" Greek as most of the other yelpers have noted. Im sure you could find a gyro made with slightly higher quality ingredients somewhere in Georgia but this place does it right with what they know. It's not a stuffy formal place with organic and locally sourced ingredients, more on the side of a hole in the wall owned by a family, but they keep it clean and running smoothly. Food is consistently good and reasonably priced. Minus one star only because their water has always had a bit of a funky taste/smell. Not horrible but it has irked me over the years. But no problem, they have bottled beverages!

    (4)
  • Andy L.

A smile goes a long way to earn the extra star. I am convinced that most OTP'ers have no clue about what Greek food is supposed to taste like, but hell, even I get taken in by good service every once-in-a-while. The meats are decent, breads are ok, sauces are a bit generic, but this is Roswell, Georgia... Not Athens, Greece. It's ok to think that you are eating authentically if you have nothing to compare it to. Service. This place gets the extra star because the family that runs the place always seems happy to be doing so. They make you feel welcome, with smiles and greetings galore. Again, it's Roswell, GA... so I'll take what I can get. Authentic Greek? Nope. If you come here thinking that you are magically going to be whisked away to the Acropolis, then check your pulse... You are dead.

Lunch is pretty good. Kids are enjoying the burger and spanakopita. My grape leaves are tasty. Not sure what the sauce us on top, but they are decent. Not the best I've enjoyed. The grape leaves themselves are slightly tough. Didn't realize it's walk up to the counter service, but it makes it simple. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our first time here. I would revise my original statement to a 0 star review. I'm 99% positive that my daughter and I got food poisoning from this establishment. It's the only place we are yesterday and ate the same thing. I feel horrible abs my poor little 5 year old. We are the spanakopita. Yuck

This place is no question a Roswell favorite. It's family owned, everyone is so nice, the ingredients are fresh and portions are large. There's nothing not to like!

  • Jacqueline W.

Athens Restaurant is now my #1 local gyro restaurant! They have a self serve condiments area, which means I can have as much tzatziki sauce as I want. Hubby and I were in a huge hurry, and it took us 20 minutes to walk in, order, eat and leave. We both ordered the gyro wrap, which came with the gyro wrap and a side of fries or Greek salad. The gyro meat was plentiful and fresh. We'll definitely be coming back here again.

Nice, friendly place! The food is okay "fast food type", it comes from frozen! Gyro can be better... In general nice fast Greek food restaurant!

Friendly, fast, good. Decor is not quite "date night," but plenty good enough for just eating good Greek food.

  • Mickey D.

Good stuff. The nice lady behind the counter (I have to believe she was Greek) was very helpful in describing their offerings, most of which could be seen on photos arrayed around both sides of the counter. I'm guessing this place has been here for a while, or at least it looks it, and I dig that. Too much of Roswell is either polished or faux-vintage, but this place looks like it has either been here since 1981 or that's where they bought the decor (especially the menu boards.) This place feels real, if that makes any sense. I had the gyro plate, which comes with a generous pile of gyro meat, pita, Greek potatoes, and a Greek salad, all for $8.75. The meat tasted just as it should (and I like that they have self-serve tzaziki), the pita was warm and soft, the potatoes were well-seasoned and the salad made me feel good about having some vegetables with dinner. I tried my ladyfriend's spanakopita (spinach and feta in flaky filo dough), and it was excellent. And it was quick- they brought our food out to our table in about 2 minutes. I did see that they had falafel wraps here, though not on the online menu. I think that's actually why I'd never been here before, because I'm usually on the hunt for falafel. Next time. My one big knock on Athens is that everything is served on styrofoam with plastic utensils. For someone who abhors waste, this is no small thing, not to mention the absurdity of trying to use a knife, even a plastic one, on styrofoam. I'm tempted to drop another star because of it.

Absolutely love this place. I come here for lunch a lot. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. Food is cheap, fast and delicious.

  • Steve H.

Good-sized lunch gyros for the price. Atmosphere is pedestrian, the "special Greek sauce" sucks, the Greek potatoes are hot, crispy, and tasty. Stand in line to order and receive your grub. Carry your tray to a table, make a visit to the sauce bar to get your favored condiment, either ketchup or Athens' weak version of tzatziki...which bears a striking resemblance to ranch dressing. I loathe ranch dressing. Nothing that I had or tried was bad, but nothing was notably better than any Greek joint that slings generic gyros. I'd go back, but only if I couldn't lobby my lunchmate(s) into someplace better.

  • Jessica K.

Excellent, tasty, hot, and well-seasoned. We got the food to go and it was delicious! The gyros were perfect, great texture and taste. The meat is roasting right there in the back of the restaurant. The lady who took our order was friendly and helped us pick what to eat since it was our first time there. Not much to look at in the decor department, but don't let it fool you! The tzatziki sauce was just right, the fries were perfectly seasoned and crispy. The gyro meat was fresh and...well, all I can describe it as was TASTY! We got a lot of food for our money, and the prices were comparable to any other Greek place we've been to, but the food here was much, much better. Can't wait to go back and bring friends!

Had lunch here on Friday with my partner. We both ordered a gyro, me- chicken, her-lamb. We like the unlimited sauce although I agree with others that it tastes a lot like ranch but still good. There were also people ordering hamburgers, spaghetti, etc. The total cost of the bill was 14.00 for lunch which is not bad and it kept us full all day. The only improvement would be to move the drink machine out from behind the counter cause I needed a refill after eating.

3.5 is really a more appropriate if I'm just judging off of the food. Its Greek food, not be confused with other Mediterranean foods with Middle Eastern influences- no falafels or tabouleh here. The food here is pretty good. Nothing offensive, meat is well seasoned and very juicy. Steak fries came out hot and cripsy. All food was delivered with a smile and in a very timely manner. However, I'd rather round up in this case because of what the restaurant is. I am always a huge supporter of small locally owned mom and pop businesses which this definitely is as you can tell the whole family is behind the counter. Also, good Greek food in the middle of Roswell without all the superficial trimmings that jack the price up makes me really enjoy this place. Great lunch spot no doubt.

  • Kunal S.

This place is great! The staff is super friendly and the prices are very reasonable. I've only had the gyro wrap but it is delicious. Food comes out hot, veggies taste very fresh, the meat tastes really good and tziki sauce is bomb. Behind the counter and the kitchen seem kind of old and dingy but they always have an 'A' grade on the posted inspection scores. Anyways I've been here several times and always great experience.

Below average gyros and I'm wondering how they got 4 star rating on here. I went based off yelp reviews and my wife and I were disappointed. Very bland wrap.

  • Golda A.

This place is so cute and quaint. It is way better than I thought it would be for what is essentially a fast food Greek place. I only got the gyro wrap but it was good. The meat was on point and tender and the sauce was delicious. It's been a while since I've had Greek so I may be giving it more credit than it should but the lady there was soo nice. The service is awesome. Also, for Roswell, GA this is a great Greek place. I love how you can get more sauce if you want. No other place I've been to does that. You'd have to ask them if you wanted to get more any where else.

  • Royal M.

Good standard Greek fare. The gyro is solid, but not outstanding. A little bit to dry for me, but that is just my personal opinion. the salads are good and the Pita bread is fresh. The cost is decent and the service is very good. You're always greeted with a smile and the food comes quickly. Family owned greater than chain! Decor is nothing special, but the place is clean. This is a good place for the family, or for a casual group. If you are looking for a fancy place to impressive someone this isn't it. I'll continue to go back.

I eat here about once a month. This family owned restaurant has good food at great prices. They do not skimp on the portions. I usually order a Gyro platter or a Greek salad. The meat on the Gyro is as good as any in the Atlanta area. I've tried larger more reviewed Greek restaurants in town like Messina's in Lawrenceville ($$) and Mykonos in Atlanta ($$) and several other $ places. For the money Athens Greek is the best. I also like buying a gallon of their EVOO when I go. Better oil and better priced than grocery store brands.

Wonderful food, love that it is a family business. Gyro is the best, also the best tzatziki sauce is the best in Atlanta.

Athens is one of my go-to restaurants on evenings when I want something good and not terribly expensive, that I don't have to cook. Sometimes I eat in, sometimes I call ahead and pick something up on my way home. It's not a fancy restaurant. It's a handful of tables the corner of a strip mall and the food is served on disposable plates, with plastic forks and knives. It can get a bit loud with tiled floors but Do NOT let that drive you away. The food is good and the service is always friendly and fast. The gyro platter is big, with a hefty portion of meat and potatoes and a side salad. There's plenty of tzatziki sauce available, and the pitas are soft and warm and delicious. My favorite is the chicken salad; lettuce topped with feta, grilled chicken, olives, peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes and served with the above mentioned warm pita. I top it with tzatziki rather than the vinaigrette. It's delicious. The baklava is to die for - rich and dripping with honey. I'm happy to see that they recently started selling falafel and hummus. I can't wait to try it! This is not gourmet food. It's delicious, basic Greek food from a nice little family run restaurant.

The best Greek Restaurant in town! Highly recommeneded. Gyros are delectable with the sauce and onions! Delicous! Hits the spot everytime! Never been disappointed. Repeat customer! Nice/friendly employees that take pride in what they do!

Love this place! Many years ago I worked in an office park nearby and this was the fav lunch spot. BUT you must arrive just before 12 or you will wait in line. Over the last 10 years this place hasn't changed. The same people (family) are there and ready. The Greek food is great. Since I no longer work nearby but take my kids to the bowling lanes or nearby park I still drop by. This sweet lady will pack our Gyros with all we need to enjoy at the lanes or park. What more can you ask for?

I looked on here earlier to find a quick place for lunch. I saw some of the reviews for this place and decided there were enough good reviews to try it. Let me say it is way better than I was expecting. Have I had better Greek food and lamb? Yes but it was at least twice the price.. This is an awesome place with great food and service way more than other places in the same price range in the area.

Location & Atmosphere: The restaurant is located at the end of a plaza, and there is plenty of parking spaces. The interior is best suited for very casual dining. You order and pick up the food at the counter. Food: I ordered their lunch special #1 - a gyro wrap and fries. Unlike gyros from other restaurants, the meat at Athens Greek Restaurant was properly seasoned. The meat had flavor without it being overly salty. The pita bread was warm and fresh. The tzatziki sauce and ketchup are available at a self-pump dispenser, while I had to ask for the hot sauce at the counter. I loved the fact that the tzatziki sauce was self serve - because it means "unlimited" sauce- but the flavor was lacking. The sauce tasted more like ranch dressing than anything else. The fries seemed like they were just regular wide cut fries you can buy frozen at the market. Service: Very friendly and quick service. Recommendation: I would recommend Athens Greek Restaurant for a quick bite with friends and family. I hope to return someday to try other items on their menu.

Great little lunch spot. I usually get the #1 - a gyro and fries or salad for $7.92 including tax and fountain drink. Since it's the #1, it's usually ready before you can even put your change away. The gyro is a good sized portion with a fluffy pita and flavorful meat. The only thing really lacking is the tzatziki sauce, which though plentiful, tastes just like ranch dressing to me. The side salad is primarily iceberg lettuce with some tomato, peppers, pepperocini, and a slice of herbed feta on top. They also offer Italian favorites, but why would you get those at a Greek place? #Yelp365 - 145/365

Athens Greek Restaurant has some of the best Gyro I have ever tasted. It's seasoned perfectly and is very tender. I recommend the Greek salad; it's very fresh. All lunch items are under ten dollars, and everything is a fair price. The service is very good. (I got everything in five minutes or less) and the people working there were friendly. The decorations are a bit old, and they use Styrofoam plates and plastic utensils. Athens Greek Restaurant is definitely worth a go, with good food and good prices.

  • Jayson H.

The food at Athens Greek Restaurant is very good. It's not amazing, but it's very solid - combine that with the quick friendly service and reasonable prices, and you have a great on-the-go lunch option. As far as lunch spots go this is definitely one of my go-to options...the only reason I'm not going 5 stars is because (hope I don't offend ownership) the tzaziki tastes suspiciously similar to ranch dressing (no cucumber or dill that I can identify). I'm sure there are many ways to make it, but this particular recipe isn't my favorite. Overall, though, very good lunch option!

  • Misty M.

I stop at Athens whenever I am in town. I usually have the gyro salad or gyro plate. They serve a generous serving of gyro meat, warm pita, and all-you-can-eat Tzatziki sauce, I love the sauce and I do not think it tastes like ranch dressing. The meat is not dried out. It's not a fancy place at all, but is clean and friendly.

I ate here last night for dinner on the recommendation of a friend. The greek chicken and gyro meat combo salad was great; however, the chicken was dry, leaving a lot to be desired, considering how juicy and delicious the gyro meat tasted.

These folks do it right! In the mood for a gyro wrap or platter?? You will not be let down. Very quick service, always with a smile, even have a small beer selection go with your meal. The price is fantastic and when I am out of ideas on what to eat, Athens pops up almost instantly! This place has been here forever, it seems. Very quiet atmosphere if that is what you like. I wouldn't recommend them for a first date, if you do, you might be making a mistake (i.e. - cheap date). This place is for the bookworm or seasoned couple who wants quiet time.

This has been my to-do list and tonight it fit the bill as we needed a quick meal so we could make a nearby movie. And it turns out that they were surprisingly fast! There is a tiny order counter where a grandmotherly Greek lady takes your order and shouts them to the kitchen. I got the gyro platter and the rest of our party did variations on that. With a line forming behind us I didn't want to hold up things as I perused the large menu. They do have a menu online (but without prices), so I arrived ready to order. We then grabbed a table in the quickly filling dining area, which was of medium size. It wasn't long before our meals were delivered to our tables. The Greek salads were delicious and everyone's wraps were equally good. You can get free refills on your soft drinks, but you have to go up to the counter and have them do it. They are very friendly (if you're not used to Greek type personality their brassy nature may come off as gruff, but they are not being unkind, just Greek). They serve two kinds of fries, but it's the same steak fries either with or without Greek seasoning (herbs and possibly olive oil). I had the latter and liked the twist. They also have a bottle of tzatziki sauce on the table, and it had a ranch dressing style to it. While not as genuine as I've had elsewhere, I ended putting it on my salad and dipping my fries in it, so it is rather addictive. We also had baklava and a slice of lemon pie and both were good. The atmosphere is a bit stereotypical but decent. The food is served on Styrofoam plates with plastic forks and knives and the place has more of a fast-food style that is incongruent with the slightly higher prices (e.g., the Athens combo plate was $12.95, and was probably the most expensive thing on the menu). However, the food was good enough to mitigate the price offset. I look forward to trying more of their dishes and we'll definitely be back.

  • Kane B.

I usually like Greek food, but this is a poor, cheap imitation. The place is cramped, dirty, and loud, and the food is greasy. The lighting is dark if you aren't right next to a window, and it seems like the few times I went in the floor was sticky. It is nice that you can serve yourself ketchup and tzatziki sauce, but the tzatziki was watery in my opinion, and the lamb was low quality. At least the food is fast, but if I want a quick bite there are better places in walking distance.

I love Athens Greek! I crave their Spanakopita all the time. Friendly staff and quick service. The tzatziki isn't as cucumber-y as is normal but it's so good I don't mind!

This is a place I eat regularly because a group of friends eat here. For 'greek' it can not compare to some of the authentic Greek cuisine I have had in Detroit's Greek Town or in Chicago, or even Philly... Still, it's a friendly spot with good service and reliable greek staples. I almost always get the Greek Appetizer Platter, which is a large plate with Dolmades, Spanakopita, Kalamata Olives, Feta Cheese, Pepperoncini, Gyro, and Pita. It's like tapas on one big plate. Not a date place. Good for a family or friends. Pricing is just slightly high.

This place is so good. I had a major craving for a gyro so I found this place through yelp. I am very impressed. I would maybe give it 5 stars once going there a second time and having an equally good experience. I got the gyro lunch plate with french fries and baklava for dessert. All the other reviews are right. Great gyro, good french fries, really good tzatziki sauce and yummy baklava. I am so full and satisfied and the price was right. I will definitely be back.

I have a confession to make: I have never set foot into this restaurant. Ever since I was in high school my mom would stop by after work to grab dinner at various restaurants. One day she came back from Athens with a gyro for me to have. Now ever since I was a little kid I absolutely loved eating gyros. The beef was thinly sliced and so different in flavored. And with pita bread, oh it was always a good eat. But everything I knew about gyros changed once I ate that gyro. Everytime afterwards from that point, when she went to Athens and I was at her home, I demanded that she bring me back a gyro. If I was sentenced to death and they asked me for my last meal, a gyro from here would definitely be included. So why do I give it five stars? Simply put... they have the best gyros in all of Georgia. Whether it's the gyro salad or gyro wrap, I have never had one better than the one's here yet. Now I'm in Chicago now and hit up various Greek restaurants, but it's just not the same. All the places I've had here so far don't even compare. The cut of the lamb gyro is thicker and just so flavorful. Possibly it's the cut that makes the different because everywhere else I go they cut it so much thinner. Even the yogurt sauce has a smooth and creamy flavor with just the right amount of little spice to it. The pita bread here has never been stale for me and the vegetables have always been crisp. So seriously, if your in the Roswell area... GYRO AT ATHENS

Very good Greek food. Friendly owners and staff. Love the gyro platter. I'm not crazy about the sauce and they can be more generous with the feta cheese.

Cheap. Greek. Fast. I would have included good in that list too, but I feel that Mediterranean Grill locations in Decatur and Midtown have better food. That said, this place often has a line to the door, esp. during lunch and weekend dinner. The gyro plate and wrap is a standby, and the pork chops are good too. The Greek potatoes are like steak fries and usually just heavy and dry. Mediterranean Grill beats them here. The service is quick and courteous -- the family just seems so nice. Try it once and you'll either like it for it's simplicity or take note of the B rating and not come back. People aren't piling up in line here for nothing.

Don't blink you'll pass it! This cozy hole in the wall is in the shopping next to Popeye's on Alpharetta Highway and Mansell Road. I've wondered in here several times over the past two years on lunch breaks. You'll have your order taken by a woman that reminds you of the greek grandmother that you see in movies. She's going to bark that order back to what I'm guessing is family and in two minutes or less on a busy lunch day it's going to be in your hands. They are QUICK! Now we move on to the sauce. Tzatziki will be provided on every table. Push the ketchup and any other condiments off into the floor, okay maybe not the floor grandmama may yell at you, but you really won't need that other stuff. This isn't a classic tzatziki but it goes great on EVERYTHING. Don't have enough on your Gyro meat, dump some more on! Need something for those fries, dip them on in. Not enough dressing on your salad, there ya go! It's like Tzatziki flavored liquid crack.

I'm a huge fan of Greek food, so when I saw this place on Yelp I knew we had to try it. Location-wise it's in kind of a sketch place in town (in the middle of a shopping center...if you blink, you'll miss it), but the trip is soooo worth it. There was nobody there, which leads me to believe that this location has the kind of hole-in-the-wall authentic appeal that few have capitalized on yet. I got the lamb gyro sandwich and it was astonishingly delicious AND reasonable. The staff was extremely courteous and I had a blast, I'm definitely going back again!

I have been here twice and will never go back. The food is like mall greek food, just meh. Also, I asked for hummus and they looked at me like I was nuts... Really?!!! No hummus at a Greek place?! If you are looking for good mediterranean food, try this dive called Samad off Roswell road right near the river. I had it tonight and it was very good.

With family owners/cooks/servers that are actually from Greece, you know this place is going to be good. They serve a wide variety of Greek specialties, and all are excellent. The gyro, whether in a flat bread or on a salad or a "plate," is tender and flavorful, made from a mixture of lamb and beef. The spanikopita is tender, and tzatsiki sauce is addictive -I have personally eaten almost half of an entire bottle. Thank goodness they will give you as much as you want! The decor is a little cheezy, but the food is so good, you won't even notice. It is a little pricey for order at the counter type food, but its authentic preparation and speedy service is worth the extra buck or two.

Real bad cheap crap. I hate writing a review about a place where the people were so nice. I stick to my beliefs abouts writing honest reviews. I guess if you have never had greek food ,you might like this stuff. It is really catered to americans. Their tzatziki sauce is ranch dressing. My problem is its pricey for crap american style almost greek stuff. I spent 35 bux for 2 greek platters and a beer which you pick up at a counter. My advice... If you want greek food hit kyma in buckhead or if you want american style greek food go to Marietta diner

Gryo n fries: about $8. Rating: 6.0 Pros: soft pita. Tsaziki on table. Average meat portion. about like a mall gyro. Tsaziki tasted like 1/2 tsaziki and 1/2 hidden valley ranch. Too creamy and not enough lemon juice, cucumber or spices(dill). Fries were crisp but overcooked. Clean n fast though. Verdict: Won't make the lunch rotation.

Dined in for lunch and in the past had always grabbed to go. This place has great Gyro's (still not sure how to correctly pronounce since everyone seems to destroy the word..LOL). One of my co-workers says their tiki sauce is not authentic but whatever, I liked it and always get extra for dippin my fries. I have had the real thing though and it just depends on who's making it. Athens obviously is appealing to the general American pallet for some of the sauces/dishes. The food is always hot and fresh and I like the family that runs this place. It a pretty basic small restaurant but the service if fast. They also have other authentic greek dishes that I have yet to indulge...but I will.....

This place has a very delicious and authentic gyro... it's a great place with great food, and their fries, with the special sauws that they have? OMG... it's all love. I stop by regularly to pick up a box of baklava for my grandmother. Their baklava is KILLER!

What a delightful little nook. Who knew such a delightful Greek restaurant, actually owned and operated by Greeks, could be so secretly kept. I found this place completely by mistake as I was driving to another restaurant. Do not be fooled by the outward appearance. Once you get inside the place is packed - and for good reason. It is delightful, authentic, and way underpriced. What a combination! My only knock is this: as another reviewer pointed out, the Tsatziki could be better. That aside this place definitely makes the lunch rotation. Food 4/5 Service: completely self service Atmosphere 4/5 Value 4/5

Best gyro in town. Plenty of extra sauce on the table if you want it. Good fries as well.

If everything was as good as the gyro, I'd consider a five-star. It's one of the best this side of Virginia Avenue. Cheesesteak and Cuban sandwich, interesting highly unauthentic but good versions. Veal parmesan is terrible. How can a place serve such a good gyro have such bad veal? Ditto, my wife a certified chicken parm fanatic was not impressed with such. Gyro is 4.5 star worthy, but the further you venture into the menu, the more it drops.

Why didn't I come here sooner? No frills, on the go, greek staples. Real easy to miss if your driving off Alpharetta hwy as its tucked in the side of a strip mall. The gyro wrap is full of win. Greek potatoes are good as well. Was not impressed with the Souvlaki. Was rather dry. Baklava is good but is rich so you will have to pace yourself on it. Id like to try the other items eventually

I love coming here. Service is out of this world. I have never waited longer than ten minutes for a meal. They are so friendly. The food is consistently good. It has a homey little atmosphere too. Gyros are good, Greek potatoes are awesome, baklava is divine, and the saganaki is SOOOOO good. Kid friendly too. Love, love this little place!

If you enjoy authentic Greek food in an unpretentious setting this is your place. I know I know, it is a bit outside the perimeter but it will be a drive you won't regret! This place is not a looker, but it gets major kudos for free parking, ease of pay before you eat, friendly staff (the owners are two Greek brothers), fast and attentive service and the food!! They gyros, plates and salads are amazingly fresh and delicious! Try the chicken plate and you will receive a generous portion of perfectly seasoned chicken topped with sauteed onions, Greek potatoes, small Greek salad (feta YUM) and pita bread of course!! I like the plates because it comes with the salad and a less bread than gyros. Don't think the healthier fresh grilled chicken salad is too boring, it will definitely do the trick and keep things lighter on those days you aren't feeling so carby. If you aren't huge on dressing, be sure to ask for it on the side though! The Spanikopita is really good, but is a wee greasy. If you aren't a huge fan of this fare or want a change, my friend enjoyed his cheeseburger thoroughly. The perfect place to dine during the week or even for a low key Friday night dinner! I hear they do a great lunch business too, but I can't make the drive during the week! Try to get there a bit before they close, as I find I get much better service and I don't like to feel rushed to eat as they tidy up! Go enjoy some great food at a reasonable cost and you'll soon be hooked as well!

Ditto what everyone else says about the Gyros - fabulous! I usually go for lunch and get the chicken gryo tho, and it is also delicious! The Saganaki (fried cheese) is spectacular and it's all reasonably priced. The side greek salad with the slice of feta is just the icing on the cake. My biggest kudos (and again, the benchmark by which I judge a greek restaurant) goes to the Tzaziki sauce. They put an ENTIRE bottle of it on every table. I don't have to ASK for a ton of it, I don't have to PAY for a ton of it, I just get to enjoy a TON of it. :)

Standard fare for a Greek restaurant. You order at the counter and your food is delivered to your table. Have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Service is very efficient. Their food is good and consistent. I can easily recommend you try this restaurant.

Pretty fast counter service, decent food, decent price. Nothing fancy here (plastic plates, etc.) - similar to what you might get at the Greek Festival. My wife makes better tsaziki, though. Other than this, if you've got the greek food monkey on your back, this place will get rid of it.

Darn delicious gyros, cheap lunch, generous portions. I will be back for some soulvaki next. Good call for a tasty and well prepared inexpensive meal.

My husband and I love this place. We have been going for years. We always order the same thing and it is consistently very good. Number 1 with steak fries and a coke is a gyro platter - Yummo! This place is family run and they are so nice. We go in there for lunch and sometimes dinner and don't mind the drive up from Sandy Springs. The sauce is amazing and the Baclava is very good. Worth the drive, you won't be disappointed. They are closed on Sunday.

The Vegi wrap with grill onions and feta cheese is heavenly. Great Baklava as well. Owners are two brothers from Greece... always serving the customers with a smile in their face.

This place was latest stop of the local gyros tour, accompanied by two opinionated reviewers-in-training. The place has kind of an "eclectic" menu, with the usual greek standards, plus chicken parm and meatball subs? We stuck with the gyros, and they were perfectly ok. I like the ones at Mediterranean Grill better though, and Athens upcharge for feta was odd. Greek potatoes were big fat french fries, who knows how "greek" they are, but the three of us polished them off quickly. Side salad was good, with a nice slice of feta, sans upcharge... If you're around Mansell and Hwy 9 and are jonesing for a gyro, it's worth a visit.

This is a solid, casual, and very authentic Greek restaurant. You can easily carry-out. People come from all over for a quick lunch. I love the Gyro plate and the souvlaki, but I'll beat everything is delicious. Baclava is to die for.

My husband and I have been regular diners here( at least once a week) for almost 20 years! Everything is so yummy! Pastistio, spanakopia, gyros, pita bread, you name it... they got it. GO TRY IT!
