The restaurant was cold and had a sewer gas or wallbound dead rat issue that slaps you when you walk in the door. If we did not have a 50% off pre paid double take deal, we probably would have departed. We got a large pizza, house salad, and tiramisu. Service was meh, no mention of specials or descriptions offered. Earned their tip by keeping drinks full. The pizza was undercooked, the center 6" of the pie had strings of unmelted cheese in warm sauce. The crust was meh, good quality cheese and sauce, meh pepperoni. The house salad was pretty,. but the house dressing was as if they misted the salad with oil and vinegar. I expect a little substance to a house dressing. The tiramisu was a shining star, but their not confident presentation included dousing it in an avalanche of chocolate syrup and chips. Both completely unnecessary. Their menu indicates a $4 plate charge to be added if you share an entree... REALLY? With our half off deal we still overpaid considering the pizza.... Will NOT return...

Went today for a family celebration. Was warmly greeted and seated. For an appetizer, we had the gorgonzola chips. Delicious. As a main entree, I had the chicken and shrimp alfredo. While the gorgonzola chips were right on point in terms of seasoning, the chicken and shrimp alfredo was a little watery and bland. After a bit of salt and pepper it was much better. On the other hand, their house salad was great! I will come again and try the food. On a curious note: on most italian restaurants, you are given bread. There was no bread here although there was plenty of olive oil around. Weird.

One of the worst expensive margarita pizza I have ever tried! There was so much basil on it that you could not taste the pizza! The cheese used was not mozzarella and the tomatoes were tasteless! If you are a true italian pizza lover, I would not recommend this place!!!!!

Went there today, Sunday, March 17, for lunch. What TERRIBLE customer service! Waited about 10-15 minutes, no one approached us! So, we decided to leave. As we left, the hostess walked by...I told her we were leaving due to not being served...her response was..."oh well!" REALLY? Is there any management at this place? Do they bother with customer service? Never will I bother to darken the doors of this establishment again!

This is my second time here and I love this place and the atmosphere. One of the best pizzas that I have tasted.

My favorite Italian place. Pizza is the best I ever had. Been eating here for a while and have not had a single thing I did not like. The shrimp and chicken alfredo is to die for, large dish of creamy goodness. Garlic knots were awesome as always! Never had a bad exsperience here. Will be coming back for more!!!

It seems that everything in Norcross square is made of gold. Some of the best restaurants in the city are here, and Paizanos is no exception. My wife and I went here for lunch today, and we were blown away. The interior has a nice, upscale feel to it business casual is perfectly acceptable. There was plenty of seating around the restaurant, and it was bright and open inside. There are a few seats outside during the warmer months, but you will want to dine inside. The waitress was very attentive and professional. I ordered the eggplant parm, and my wife the manicotti. Both dishes came out hot out of the oven, and the portions were enormous for lunch. We originally thought it was a bit overpriced, but considering that we easily enough left over for a second meal, its right on par. The dishes had a lot of flavor, and the sauces were very fresh and well seasoned. We got cannolis to go (we were stuffed!) for dessert and they were quite wonderful too. A bit too sweet for my tastes - composed of sweetened marscapone, chocolate syrup, chocolate chips, and powdered sugar topping. It definitely satisfied my sweet tooth though. My wife I will be back many times now that we know about this place. I would eat here over some of the bigger Italian chain restaurants anytime, including Carrabbas, Ramanos, Maggianos, and certainly Olive Garden. There is a magical quality about a small kitchen like this that doesn't translate well with scale. For those that want to chain your visit, there is a wonderful coffeeshop - 45 South within walking distance, or Iron Horse tavern right next door. You can really make quite the afternoon or evening out of your visit. Thanks to the cooks and the staff for providing us a wonderful experience!

Meh. Place is well decorated and visually appealing, but pizza definitely left something to be desired. Pizza was ok, better than Papa John's, but not even in the same ballpark as Double Zero, Antico, or even Galla's for that matter. Not bad, but you can do much better about 5 minutes down the road.

I'm used to Italian restaurants in NY, Philadelphia and Italy, so I have high standards in this category. The food was totally average and the menu is designed for Americans - lots of "red sauce". The entrees were fine for what they were. They seem to do a big pizza business, so maybe I should have just stuck with that option. The cheese cake tasted like Sysco foods. Not anything you would find in NYC. Given the limited eating options in Norcross, not a bad choice, but nothing special either. Sure beats the chain restaurants nearby though.

  • Dane D.

WOW! This is my third time here, and I'm STILL beyond impressed with this place. All of it. Seriously, all of it. Food. Service. Ambience. Price. They're a jewel, and you can't go wrong with anything I've tried so far!

While Sami our server was great, Rocky the bartender was rude and confrontational about making a Bloody Mary wrong....may be the last time ever coming here. was told he is a manager and been there 10 years but this is unacceptable behavior and treatment of clients.

Paisanos is a family style Italian restaurant located near the train tracks in old Norcross. I live in Sandy Springs so heading to Norcross for a good pizza or eggplant parm is not a problem. The pizza is very good - crispy and flavorful. Years ago, Paisano's advertised that they used New York water to make their pizza but they apparently now use good ol' Atlanta water. The eggplant parm comes as a huge portion and I'm sure it is quite caloric. I usually get a "to go" box when I order it - which is unusual for me. My college aged son usually orders chicken parm which he clearly enjoys and my wife and daughter speak highly of the salads topped with broiled shrimp. This past New Years eve, my wife and I along with several other couples dined here and everyone enjoyed their meals. Paisanos has always been consistent with the food quality and it is a regular part of my family's restaurant rotation.

Molto Buono! What a gem in Norcross! I really liked it. I really liked the fact that this restaurant has "side salad" in the menu and it was actually pretty good. (It is very important to have salad first to avoid weight increase.) I loved the pizza. It was just like the ones I used have in NYC. I had a side House Green Tossed Salad and two (to me, huge) slices of cheese pizza for less than $10. (plus tip). Charming interior and nice mannered and neat wait staff too.

I ate here 2 weeks ago, my first weekend in Atlanta! Decent crowd, quick service, DELICIOUS ziti (and pizza- I had some of my dad's.) Large portions- we both had leftovers and reasonable pricing. I'll be back soon! Also, great shopping within steps- that's always a perk!

    (5)
  • Charlie H.

Great food and reasonable prices. Their pizza is like true New York crust and sauce. They do not skimp on ingredients. All is fresh each day. Their beer selection hits the mark as well. Try them. They don't disappoint.

I went here for lunch with a small group from work. Definitely not a good lunch option if you're looking for a small-portioned, light fare. The restaurant doesn't offer lunch portions and charges quite a bit for the entrees. I added meat to my pasta and I got half of what I paid for. I haven't visited Paizanos for dinner, so the atmosphere and portions might be better, but for the product you get, I wouldn't do it again.

Love this place. Eat here often. Tuesday night pizza special is one of mine and my girlfriends favorite nights. Large cheese pizza for $8.88 and a red box movie and you have a quick cheap date night for a little over $10. I frequent here and some of my favorites are; garlic knots, calamari, pasta with vodka sauce and chicken marsala. If you've never been you need to check it out.

A surprising hit for a work dinner this week. Place was only half full, but that was certainly not due to food quality or even based on service. We started with the fried zucchini and garlic knots. OMG, the rolls were hot, pillowy soft and bathed in garlic butter. An order of 6 was $3.50 or so. Many restaurants serve these for free, but these are better than any others I have tried. The zucchini was hot, fresh and shatteringly crisp with a light panko coating. I had the rigatoni with vodka sauce and added grilled chicken. Delicious and served nice and hot. HUGE portion though, so next time I will split an entree for sure. Restaurant is located in quaint downtown Norcross. A pleasant place for a stroll after dinner if you want to make more of an evening out of it than just a meal.

We dined here around 6:30 p.m. on a Saturday. There was a decent crowd but it wasn't packed. This was our first time here. I got a Bensonhurst pizza (lasagna toppings, basically). It was pretty good, overall. My wife and daughter got pasta dishes. Overall they weren't blown away. The food was okay, but my impression was we'd probably skip the extra travel time to Norcross if they can get dishes equally to (or more to) their liking closer to home. The side salads didn't seem to come with a choice of dressing, and the house dressing was characterized as 'sour'. Piazano's is okay but I didn't think it lived up to some of the other Yelp reviews.

  • Melissa B.

Came here for lunch. When my lasagne came out it tasted like something had gone bad. I told the waitress and her response was "oh I think maybe the ricotta had expired it smelled a little funky can I get you something else?" We said no thanks just the check and left. If you thought you were serving me something that was funky why did you serve it? We have no intention on going back. I mean would you?

  • Veronica M.

The waitress was great but, their food is not fresh. Their house salad was not fresh, it seemed it was out all day. Pizza was not fresh, frozen grocery pizza is better. Ravioli was dry & excessively drowned in alfredo pesto, not fresh pesto. Very disappointed with the high cost plates served in plastic plates & cups. It's tacky & unfortunate that they are located in a beautiful location. Only their garlic rolls & fried mozzarella was ok.

I have recently discovered this part of town, and I have been trying out different restaurant in downtown Norcross. I read on other reviews that the thing to try is their "Garlic Knots". It was good, but it was not the best I have ever had! The knotted garlic bread was sprinkled with parmesan cheese and was drenched in oil. I think Ippolitos have better bread there.. and it's free. ^^ Two of us shared a medium Hell's Kitchen Sink pizza. The thin crust was very good. It wasn't too salty and tasted fresh! I would definitely want to come back again.

I came here after reading this was one of Norcross' gems/hidden treasures. I'm a sucker for these type of places. After my experience I would have to conclude that the it is an a-ok place with really good calamari. The food: Garlic knots - I would call these oil soaked and parmesan cheese covered rolls. It came in a shallow pasta bowl, but I would suggest serving them in a plate to avoid getting the bottom ones drenched in oil. Biting into a roll and spurting out oil is not too tasty. 12 for $6, 3/5 Fried Calamari - One of the best I've had. It came with two sauces, but tastes just fine sprinkled with the lemon juice. $9, 5/5 Gnocchi with vodka sauce - Gnocchi was overcooked, tasted much better as leftovers as it soaked in the sauce. $13, 2/5 Cannelloni - Lot of cheese, average stuff. $13, 3/5 Cannoli - Although it looked good, the cannoli cream was not legit. It tasted really similar to icing or frosting on a cupcake. Anyone familiar with cannoli cream know it's one of the best parts; it's like the white stuff in Oreos. I ate the shell and wiped off the cream. $4.50, 0/5 The service: Our waitress was great, with just the right amount of attention and jokes to make the meal enjoyable. The interior: Basic small business type feel that I prefer over the large chain restaurants. Photos on the wall show a history of the restaurant's involvement with the community.

Great location. We visited Paizano's with family. My husband had a seafood pasta dish, my sis in law- baked ziti and my bro in law sandwich and fries while I chose a salad. We shared the garlic knots which are served with an amazing marinara sauce! Though everyone had something different, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal.

Took the wife here for Valentine's Day because they took reservations when my first and second choice would not for that night. That earns them points. Very busy but were seated within a few minutes. The service was excellent, the food was ok. A $19 entrée just gets you enough leftovers to last 2 more meals.

  • Annie L.

Oh maaaan. Absolutely the BEST garlic knots I have had in my life. Service was excellent, and decor was classy. I'm not sure if it's some "special" they have going on right now, but the receipt they give you is sort of like a coupon. You get "free" garlic knots (6) with your next purchase. That's awesome!

I've been on the quest for the perfect pizza since I moved to Georgia from up north- yes, I am a Yankee. I've been stalking Yelp and other review sites to find the top rated pizza joints and visiting them to see... and I think I may have hit as close to home as I am going to with Paizanos. The garlic knots were good, just like the other reviews said, and came drowning in garlic and oil. The pizza was amazing. I just got a simple pepperoni and extra cheese, but the ingredients were fresh, toppings flavorful and the sauce was not that annoying sweet sauce so many pizza joints here in the South use, thank goodness! The staff was pleasant enough and the vibe was awesome, even on Friday night it wasn't so busy as to be annoying. I'll keep trying other places just for the fun of it, but when I want a reliably good pizza, I'll head into old Norcross.

  • Amrita R.

The best pesto pasta I've ever had out! Seriously. It needed a little black pepper but other than that, it was divine. I also tried their pizza and it was fantastic. I'm so not a pizza person and I went with a vegetarian and was forced to try a veg pizza, which is also totally NOT my thing... But it was seriously delicious, crust and all! We took some home and it was still just as tasty the next day, which is surprising. I haven't been able to stop thinking about this place since I went. I hardly ever step out for Italian food but this is the only place I think is worth the price for pasta :)

  • Ray B.

Don't miss: some of the very best pizza in the metro Atlanta area, if not the entirety of north Georgia. Don't bother: their "fried zucchini" appetizer ... four paper thin slices of zucchini, fried and served with a marinara sauce. Way-y-y-y-y-y-y overpriced for the quantity and the quality of this item!!!

With all the rave reviews of this place, I finally tried the pie, last time I tried an authentic pie was at Antico so my expectation was high. Atmosphere: It was alright, trendy, dark and nice. I went there for lunch and since Paizanos is located near the train track, train passed by couple of times so it was kind of noisy Server: Very tentative, courteous and fast. Price: Price was moderate. Pizza cost $25 at most. Pasta around $13. Appetizer about $9 at most. Food: Had Garlic knot, it was awesome. With 3 people including me, we finished 12 of these. We demolished it. I really wanted to try the Stanton Ferry Pie but ended up choosing Bensonhurst due to group wanting to try that one. Crust was crunch and dough was nice and moist. Overall, pie was great but not as good as Antico. I will give this place 3.5 star

I like the pizzas over here.. Been here a couple of times.. never disappointed.. Tried different type of pizzas.. All of them were great... Being in Norcross Downtown its next to the train station and railroad crossing.. so you hear the train going by once in a while.. Its gives a nice feel.. Ambience is good... Service was also fast...

  • Bridgette T.

Their pizza is amazing. We always get the antipasta platter for an appetizer. I've had the gnocchi which was really good after I got over the fact that the pesto was a cream base and not oil (I asked the server and she assured me it was oil). The salads are good. The chicken and shrimp Alfredo is amazing. Just let it cool a bit so you can taste all the flavors (and not burn your tongue). I found when it's really hot you can't appreciate all the flavors. Same with the gnocchi. We have never had dessert here. Always too full. And usually with left overs.

The service is superb and the food was fresh. We ordered the garlic rolls. They were to die for.And for the entree I had the lasagna and ,y friend spaghetti. The portions where so HUGE that we had to take it to go. The place is right in the heart of downtown Norcross. It is a great place to take a date or a love one to.

  • Jorge P.

Ate here last night and it was good. The food was ok. My wife's Calzone came to the table and it was still kind of cold in the center. We asked for them to heat it up a little more, but instead of putting it back in the oven, they decided to stick it in the microwave. That was a little disappointing, but other than that it was a good experience. The service was great and the food was actually pretty good. Great family atmosphere and the location is great. They are in the middle of downtown Norcross. Good place overall.

For homestyle, large portions, and yummy delicious-ness, this just might be one of the best italian comfort food joints in Atlanta. It's really hard for me to find places like this in the South. Huge portions, and everything is really tasty. Try the Chicken Paizanos....yum! Great and friendly service, too! I am craving this place again already!

    (4)
  • Jonathan M.

You gotta love Paizano's!! The food is absolutely to-die-for. The piazza and garlic knots are the restaurant's highlights, for sure, but Paizano's definitely has a great selection of Italian classics, such as stuffed shells, lasagna, and good ol' spaghetti with meatballs. The bar's great, the staff is both nice and very good-looking, and the atmosphere is excellent.

    (5)
  • Jake E.

Sausage ravioli with vodka sauce is amazing. Perfect blend in the sauce makes this a choice will definitely have again. Pepperoni, bacon, and gorgonzola cheese pizza equal gastric nirvana here. Pizza is worth 5 stars, rest of place is 4-4.5. Never had a bad meal here, but have had some that were simply, "good".

    (4)
  • Alex C.

They get three stars for having good customer service, but they only would have gotten two stars for pizza. The Sicilian had so much potential, but due to the fact the vegetables were not cooked prior to being placed on the pizza, they sweated during cooking....made the bottom of the crust a soggy, sloppy, mushy mess. Now, here is where the customer service comes in, I told the waiter, he replaced the pizza. I didn't have anything to eat with my date, but at least they tried! Now when I did taste the pizza, it was fair, but wasn't given enough time to melt all the cheese. So the edges were melted but closer in it was still somewhat shredded. Not the best, not the worst.

    (3)
  • Leigh N.

The food here is delicious and the wine selection decent. Good customer service with a charming interior. Considering it's location (there's not much in terms of fine dining in Norcross), it's a good choice. I only wish they had outdoor seating!

    (4)
  • Seth H.

This place is one of Norcross' many gems! Everything on the menu is top notch and the staff are super friendly. Notable dishes would be any pizza and the Chicken Paizanos.

  • Gino M.

For me, this is as good as it gets for pizza in the ATL. My standard order is the following: Garlic Knots - as many as need to feed the group I'm with. These can't be beat. They're huge, delicious and swimming in a sea of garlic, butter and oil. The marinara sauce that comes in the middle for dipping is a little spicy for some of my friends whose ancestry hails back to the northern part of Europe, but I think it's perfect. Staten Island Ferry Pizza - genoa, cappy and prosciutto ... you can't get better than this. The pizza is perfectly floppy and just DRIPPING with grease. Order a medium ... it's big, but you'll want the left overs for the next day. I've always had great service at this place and it's never been too crowded. Head in here after work to get a nice mix of suit types downing some beers from the bar and families settling in for some nice pasta.

i've been here several times now - being a local to the area. use a coupon if you can find one! we had a $20 off $50 or more and ended up paying only $44 for 4 people, which is more reasonable. cons: price (should a pasta dish of tortellini really be $16? i better see a world renowned Italian chef back there), ravioli was overcooked when i ordered it, it's not very busy in this place, salad was forgetable & blah pros: gnocchi with marinara is absolutely delicious (you will be taking some home!), the garlic knots are top notch w/marinara, location, stromboli is tasty & huge (substitutions are welcome for ingredients) i recommend it for lunch, as they have a sandwich selection that is more affordable (and you can try those garlic knots!).

Due to heckticness, this review was long overdue, but should not be overlooked. Came here on 11/12/10 evening with my brother who's been MIA for a while. What have you been up to lately? I asked while we sat down and place our order of: Veal Paizanos, House Salad and Fried Calamari. Well, there's something I'd like to tell you, he said as he sipped on a draft of Guinness -- I'm getting married. Too shocked that I can't recall exactly how the food tasted or when the server forgot our Fried Calamari appetizer. All that I can recall was, we ate, discussed about marriage, and I felt a sense of happiness of being a proud sister, overwhelmed with speechlessness. Regardless, the veal was good with plenty of garlic. However, I can't recall the details of why it's good. Just that, it's good. And I can't complain about the Fried Calamari since the server gave it to us for free.

  • Stephanie L.

I love love this place. The garlic knots are really good, as well as the pizza (I heard they bring their water from NY (?) ). I haven't been there in a while but I remember that there was this garlic encrusted chicken and it was AMAZING. The service was always pleasant and the food was served in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend this place. Yumm!

  • Michael D.

The place was not crowded but I sat at the bar anyway. The service was polite and attentive, and the pizza was frick'n fantastic. This is a twelve mile trip for me. I must pass at least 5 pizza places to get here...and I'll keep passing 'em as long as Paizanos keep doing whatever they do to turn out great pizza.

  • Christine K.

I know I'm supposed to be reviewing the food, but the primary reason for the 3 stars is because of the atmosphere. Paizanos is suuuuuuper cute and thoughtfully decorated, and it is a wonderful space. The fact that it's located in cute historic Norcross, adds to the charm. When you walk inside, sit down, and make your way down the menu, you actually forget you're in Norcross. I had no idea this city would house a place like this. So, I suppose given that Paizanos is in Norcross, the restaurant is worthy of 4 stars, but if I think about the million other Italian eateries I've been to, it scales a 3. Okaaaaay? Okay. Now the food... and service... or, the lack of service: Our server was polite and from eavesdropping on the table next to us, I can tell that he's probably always there since there are regulars who like to chit-chat with him. However, he really wasn't checking up on us and doing other server-ish "duties," so that was a bummer. Then again, it was probably because the place was very short-staffed and it was a very busy, busy night. Food was alright. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back again, but if I'm hungry enough and can't think of anywhere else to go, then yes, Paizanos would be it. I'd have to admit that I did *not* order the pizza, which seems to be THE amazing thing to order, judging from other Yelpers. Oops. Maybe the pizza is fantastic, but again, it IS an Italian restaurant, so they can't only serve super awesome pizza and yet so-so-kind-of-forgettable everything else (pasta included)!

We went there tonight for my birthday. Service was so slow. There were only 2 other families in the restaurant. We ordered the garlic rolls and they were great, except when I saw a hair in them. I kept looking for our waitress, and she was no where to be found. I finally said something to another one. They never compensated was for that. My husband ordered the calzone and it was very good. A lot of food and very reasonable priced. I order the vodka al penne, it also was very good. the kids had the chicken nuggets . By the time dinner was done we had a lot of plates that should of been taken away. Instead the waitress kept coming back to box up our food, but yet we were still eating. When I looked over I saw a waitress sitting in the serving area just reading a book. Some of the clean up staff were then complaining about the waitress. Food is good, prices reasonable, management really needs to work on their staff.

I have been here 2 times now because of Go Kickball. I have been please with this business so far in putting up with all of us kickballers. The deals are really nice on Thursdays. I think these deals are only for Go Kickball, but I am not completely sure on that. The garlic knots are very good. The cheese fries with brown gravy is really good. The stuffed Portobello mushrooms are very good. The calamari has been the tastiest so far. The marinara sauce is quite good as well. The waitress didn't hesitate to separate our checks and it saved our really large group a whole lot of time and trouble. I will be there, next Thursday, and the next Thursday, and the next.

I've only had the pizza and calzones here and they did not disappoint. Pricing is reasonable and it's tucked away in historic downtown Norcross. There are some other gems of restaurants that it has for competition down there (Zapata and Mojito come to mind), and I usually opt for one of those others when I'm in the area. But, if you're up for pizza/italian, it's a pretty safe bet. I'd have given it a solid 4 stars, but I have to knock it one because I have a bad taste in my mouth from some interactions I've had with the management on a couple of occasions. (The wait staff seems fine enough). One time in particular, a friend and I were placing a to-go order while our wives and kids were playing in the park across the street. We ordered and the guy who took our order (who we assumed was the manager - he seemed manager-esque) said it would be ready in 20 minutes or so. We asked if there was some way we could get a call on our cell phone when the order was ready so we could be hanging out with our families at the park in the meantime, and he very flatly responded "Just come back in 20 minutes." I can understand if it's not their policy to call folks when to-go orders are ready, but I feel like he could have been a little more gracious or gentle in his response. Maybe I'm too sensitive...

WOW!!! This place is awesome! It doesn't give off the traditional Italian restaurant vibe, but the food...the FOOD...is sooo good!!! If you're anywhere close to this place, you must stop by.

Yummo, yummo, yummo! This place has the 2nd best pizza that I've ever had in my life. Yes, my WHOLE life! There is no reason to pass this place by. None. If you're addicted to Pizza Hut, you simply have no idea how good pizza can be. The cheese is real. The sauce tastes homemade. The crust is incredible. I take off a star for the fountain drinks (the carbonation is always off a bit) and the service can be hit or miss.

We stayed away for quite awhile due to poor service a couple times when They first opened. Went back on a lark for pizza a few weeks back, and have returned twice in as many weeks. Service is much improved, and the pizza approaches Ipps (our favorite in Atl).

Very good garlic knots and sausage ravioli with vodka sauce.

Loved the garlic knots and the fresh dipping sauce. The simple vodka pasta was divine. People were friendly and the price was reasonable for the quality. Even good as leftovers the next day at work.

I went to Paizano's last night for the first time ever. I saw the positive rerviews, and was very much looking forward to this visit. All I can say is WOW....it was extremely good. I started with the Garlic Knots, and shared them with 2 of my work mates who joined me for this visit. I then ordered a glass of wine, and the Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken, and added Mushrooms, and I have to tell you, it was absolutely incredible. HUGE portion though....way more than most people can eat in a single sitting, so don't let the price fool you, you get at least 2 meals out of it (unless you are a former Pro football player with a huge appetite, and you eat it all). The ambiance was good, and I even ordered the Tuesday night special cheese pizza for $8.88 to take back to the hotel for a friend. who got stood up and was wanting some food. He loved the pizza, and said it was one of the best he has had in quite a while. I had intended to eat it later...or at least try it...but was entirely too full from my Alfredo meal. Needless to say, this place is the BOMB DIGGITY.....so if you are anywhere near this place and you are craving authentic Italian food....this is the place.....

We ordered a deep dish and a tinn crust. The deep dish was not cooked through in the middle, very doughy. The thin crust had a burned taste. Though we are accustomed to coal and wood fired pizzas, we don't like a burned crust taste that we were given. The beer prices were good, but we wouldn't return for pizza.

Words just can not describe how simply amazing the food is. The Calamari is out of this world with that sweet and sour dipping sauce and the rolls(which should be free) are so fresh and good. I had the chicken francese which for $15 you get 2 pieces of giant chicken breast and a bowl of pasta. The wife had a calzone stuffed with all kinds of tasty things that was enough for dinner and breakfast and lunch the next day. So glad this place is close to the house and work I will be returning often. Oh yeah the sweet tea needs some work!

We've ordered pizzas to-go a couple of times now. The crusts have been thin and chewy. I like them like that. The only downside about their pizzas is that it's a little on the salty side for me. I always feel like I have to down a few glasses of water afterward. Otherwise, it's pretty good for being located in Norcross.

The food at this restaurant is fantastic. The faire is typical Italian, but the sauces and seasonings really make the food stand out. The location, in the heart of historic Norcross, is really nice as well. We enjoyed our dinner and then took our kids to the nearby public park to play. Paizanos is a very nice place to enjoy great food in a comfortable atmosphere.

I had been trying to lose this southern belly of mine this week by working out and eating salads and fish at home. But evil is not easily squashed and those evil food cravings kept urging me, coaxing me to splurge and reward myself for a job well done. I decided to drop into Paizanos for a small appetizer. Just a little one. Right. Do you know what I know about anti-pasto salad? It is not a uniform dish restaurant wide like scrambled eggs or something. I've never had the same anti-pasto salad twice at an Italian restaurant. This was no exception. This salad consisted mostly of salami, grilled prosciutto, cheese a few scattered greens and roasted red pepper drizzled in olive oil. You coud tell that it was plated by a pro. It was so pretty! And it was a lot. The garlic knots were not knots, more like garlic dinner rolls, but were plated well, enough to feed three people an oh so garlicky. The fried jumbo shrimp were as beautifully plated as they were delicious. They were molded to sit up in formation on a bed of greens and shaved reggiano. It was so much food that I decided to concentrate on the shrimp because we all know that cold shrimp is not that good, so I had to decide what would be going home in the doggy bag. It wasn't going to be the shrimp. And a good thing too, because an hour after eating them I could tell by the grease residue in my mouth that they were not cooked in canola oil. If I had known that the plates would be so pretty and generous, I would not have ordered anything to go. But I did. I ordered the Lasagna and a house salad to eat at home later. The restaurant is very pretty. Nothing like the Italian restaurants in the movies where one awaits a mob ambush. (Like Nino's in Long Beach) It was very quiet except for the Putamayo type music playing, a plus for me. I would have been happy with some folksy Italian muzak but during the course of my meal I heard Portugese, African and Spanish music. The service was excellent, the waitress was nice and very attentive. There was only one other table occupied, but I went post-lunch rush. It is a place where I would take anyone. The food was good, plenty and pretty. I now want to try their pizza and other dishes. The service was flawless, the parking easy and the neighborhood quaint and quiet. I just need to come here only after a week of salad and aerobics. Because now I have to fast forward some crunches and leg lifts to work off one lunch.

So disappointed! We ordered the Antipasto salad, chicken parm, veal picatta and the garlic knots. I will pass on the presentation since this was a to go order. Just expect everything to be piled into whatever container. My score does not reflect the presentation of the food. Portions are huge. Salad very good. Pasta was overcooked. Chicken was heavily breaded. The veal picatta was bland; the lemon flavor was hidden due to the heavy handed butter. Capers everywhere. The red sauce was not my favorite. The garlic knots were undercooked, doughy and dry. Great covering of cheese; garlic, not so much. Maybe since it was a really slow Sunday afternoon and there was only 1 table with patrons so the attention to the food was minimal. Whatever the reason, no plans to return.

I'm a Chicago style person myself, but this pizza was so good that it made me a fan of New York style for a bit. Went with the Nu Yawker which was delicious. The only downside was that the place was packed for lunch and it looked like they only had two waiters and host so the service wasn't the best. The bar looked nice, and if I wasn't working I would have worked through some of the Italian beers they carried.

Stopped here on the way to my girlfriends house while she was out doing errands, and I really liked this place, its small, quaint, and comfortable. Has an upscale feel but not upscale prices, and the pizza was awesome. I'll be back soon.

I am not sure who is writing these reviews, but I tried their meatball Parm wedge for lunch and it was unedible. I called the restaurant to let them know and they did offer me a free lunch, but it was so bad. The meat tasted old. I moved here from NY and I know what a meatball should taste like. This was awful and there was nothing that binded the old meat together. Will not return for my free lunch.

The tour of Norcross continues. We went to Paizanos today for lunch and I was really pleased with the entire experience. Our server was really nice and patient with us even though we were awfully needy today. It was difficult to make a decision as to what to order because every plate that came out of the kitchen looked great. I finally decided to get the Paizano Stromboli since it was recommended by the server. It was really good! Pepperoni, green peppers, mushrooms and onions - yummy goodness!!! I also had tiramisu for desert and it was delicious. I love the fact that they put little chocolate chips all over it. Yummy! I will definitely be coming back. Oh yeah, and on Tuesdays that have a lunch special - $8.88 for a large cheese pizza, carry out only. I know we'll be taking advantage of this deal.

It's a cute neighborhood restaurant. We started with the calamari which was lightly battered and scrumptious. My staple here is the penne pesto, which I love! Their pesto is creamy and coats every bite with deliciousness. The chicken stromboli had a nice crust, but the marinara was a bit too watery. The linguine with clams in a white sauce was well made and not too heavy. Next time, I'm ordering poutine.

Another work lunch joint. Right on the quaint Norcross square area. The garlic knots are awesome...mmm mm. Try to ignore the fact that they are sitting in a big puddle of oil/butter. They have all your standard Italian choices. I am a fan of the lasagna or baked ziti. Yes you will have leftovers (Just keep em for your next day lunch at work!)

Perhaps the best pizza in Atlanta. They use quality ingredients. I suspect they use real buffalo mozzarella. Common mozzarella makes an oily pie. This one is not greasy at all. If they used a real wood-fire brick oven it would be as good as that in Napoli, with a tinge of smoke. The fried shrimp appetizers are tasty but wa-a-ay overpriced for a stingy portion. Fantastic location to walk off the meal in the picturesque old downtown area. This Italian restaurant stocks just one bottle/brand of grappa. If there were more grappa choices and the shrimp app wasn't overpriced it'd get 5 perfect stars from me.

ANYONE WHO HAS KIDS PLEASE READ THIS! My wife and I and our 5 year old and 2 year old went out for pizza night with another couple and their kids. We arrived early and were seated immediately after telling the hostess the other couple would be there in a few. The other couple called the restaurant and were provided directions, which turned out to be incorrect. In the interim, we ordered food for our kids and ourselves. About 15 minutes later, a man approaches and informs us we need to split up the table because our couple was not there and he needed the table for a party of 8 that was coming in. We kindly informed him they were on the way and that the restaurant had provided the wrong directions. We were in process of having our children eat, when he said, I'm giving you 5 minutes and you will have to move. We asked for the owner, to which he replied he was. We informed him that we were seated by his hostess and that we have young children who needed to eat. He did not care. We said we are going to leave and he said that is a good idea. We could not believe that an owner would be so rude and talk to us in a demeaning manner in front of our children. Plus, he did not even care that we had 2 young children. At that point, we got up to leave and said to him we we have never been treated like this and that we would never come back. To that he responded fine leave and continued to hurry us out. At that point, he pushed my wife. She said to him I can't believe you pushed me and he did not apologize or seem in any means sorry he did that. It took all restraint not to do anything, but I took the high road and took my wife and family out of this horrible restaurant. We use to go to Paizanos at least 3 times a month. We will now never ever go back in there and we will tell all our friends about the rude, inconsiderate, greedy (splitting up 2 couples so the restaurant could have a table of 8 that was already provided to another family), and unprofessional owner of Paizanos.

On our way to a different place for lunch we decided that since we had a restraunt.com gift certificate for Paizanos we'd go there instead. I gave the gift certificate to our waitress up front and asked that she make sure we meet all requirements in order to use it. The food here is super but our service today wasn't so great. It took about 10 minutes for our server to take our drink orders. We had 2 different fountain sodas and 2 sweet teas and all 4 drinkers agreed the beverages were off. No fizz in the soda and the tea was not at all good. One dude switched the sweet tea to a coke and the other opted for unsweetened and added his own Splenda. The soda from the bar was much better. 2 of us had the chicken picatta (pan seared chicken in a wine sauce w/ capers) and it was yummy. I opted for a Caesar side salad instead of the pasta and the other dudes got a blue burger and a chicken gnocchi pesto dish. The food was great. Our waitress came back and we double checked that we ordered the minimum required to use the certificate and she said yes. Then came back and said they no longer accept the restraunt.com gift certificates. We were pissed because we had only gone there since we had the certificate and even presented it to her up front. There was no expiration date on it. We asked that she explain this to her manager. She came back and said he approved - but they had stopped doing business w/ r.com . Not our problem. Anyhow...we managed to get out of there in over an hour. Not a place we'd return to on an hour lunch break.

I ordered a 16" Large Pizza 'to go' and asked for double pepperoni ... wow. When I got the pizza I could not see cheese there was so much pepperoni. I am use to Pizza Hut where you get a dozen tokens of meat, this pizza was smothered and it was quality pepperoni. The sauce and crust were excellent... the only thing was the meager amount of cheese ... the price was about what you pay for a Pizza Hut and quantum jump better. Highly recommended 4.5 stars

went here for an early dinner tonight. great atmosphere, beautiful inside with a warm feeling. the service was great, just the right amount of attention. we ordered the garlic knots which were good but way to oily. our dinners came with a house salad which was really good and i had to eat the chicken marsala. huge portions and the chicken was cooked perfectly. i would try something else next time, not to say it wasn't good, it was but would be curious about their pasta next time or pizza. overall a great experience, will return.

This was by far one of the worst dining experiences I have had. First, they stuck us at a table that was in the aisle going into the kitchen and across from the waitress station. Lovely! We ordered garlic knots and a house salad to split. The garlic knots were pretty good, but the salad was more fields greens than lettuce so it was hard to really taste it. Lastly, the Sicilian pizza sucked. I took my first bite and it tasted like tin. I thought perhaps the cheap silverware they use had actually chipped off into the pizza. It was also very dry and the meatballs were a joke. I hated the whole experience and the wait staff sucked too!

I can see why people like this place. It's comfortable. It's right in Historic Norcross. The food was pretty good. I grabbed an early dinner here with a friend and was happy with my meal. When I say early, it was really early. Like we were the first ones in for dinner and had the whole place to ourselves, early. Even at that time of day, the place was dark and intimate. And I'm glad we came early, because I hear there's sometimes a line out the door for a table. Paisano's is the kind of place you might bring a date, even if you're both just wearing jeans and a t-shirt. It's the kind of place you might just grab an adult beverage at the bar and hang out for a bit. Either way, I think you won't be disappointed. I had the Chicken Marsala. It was good, though I'll admit, it didn't grab me right away. But the accompanying pasta was good. In fact, next time I will probably stick with the "known" items of greatness here. Folks rave about the garlic knots and the gnocchi with vodka sauce. Folks seem to rave about the NY style pizzas. I will be looking forward to those things on my next visit. Holler if you're coming with!

How have I only just discovered this place?! Paizanos is located in downtown Norcross and is on the end of a row of historic buildings with tons of old brick and vintage painting. When you walk in the door you see a seating area to your left, the bar area to your right, and a quaint dining room straight ahead. The hostess was kind and seated us right away (protip - book your table on open table for dining points!) and gave us expansive menus. The establishment is super family friendly and the food is pretty affordable. The table next to ours ordered the garlic rolls and I immediately knew we had to get them. They came out in a warm round bowl with a huge marinara tub in the middle. The order came with 6 fluffy rolls (imagine giant cinnamon rolls but with garlic!) and they just melted in your mouth. Totally worth having to run two miles to work them off. Next up - the main dishes. They have about 8 types of pasta with another 8 sauces that you can mix and match to make your own in addition to the 25 dishes (both pasta and otherwise) that you can order. I opted for the gnocchi with tomato vodka sauce and HEARD THE ANGELS SING as soon as I took my first bite. It was topped with basil and was perfectly balanced flavorwise. The sauce was rich and warm and soaked into the gnocchi perfectly to make it super creamy and delicious. It came with a side salad which wasn't necessarily anything spectacular but they had Gorgonzola dressing which was really yummy. My date had the chicken parmesan which also came with a side salad and spaghetti. The chicken was moist and the cheese perfectly melted and stringy when you would cut a bite. The spaghetti was dressed well with marinara so it didn't stick together or get clumpy. The portions were accurately balanced and there were plenty of both my pasta and his chicken to make a lunch out of the next day. BONUS - my tomato vodka pasta heated up incredibly well the next day. There was none of that weird oil separation that happens with some sauces. I can't wait to go back and try more of their choices! The clientele ranged from high school students, a birthday party, a few after-work dates, and a family or two so I'm confident that everyone can find something here.

Large portion meals! However, waiting time is a little longer than expected. Our waiter was very kind, but as a hungry customer, I was very anxious on the delivery time of the entrees, so that is why I give this place 4 stars. The meal took about 30-40 minutes in between platters. (maybe that's usual? I was STARVING) Ordered, calamari and garlic bread for appetizers. DELISH! I think they use a sweet chili sauce for the calamari dip and it was so good, I used it on my garlic bread. I ordered the lasagna and about half way in, I was already full from my garlic bread. My meal came with a spinach salad (included some creamy dressing and blue cheese) however, I did not enjoy it. Great for family and date nights. It's located in a quaint area in downtown Norcross.

Good Italian restaurant in old historic Norcross. We came here on a Sunday afternoon shortly after they opened. Service was fast and friendly. The atmosphere is very chill and classy. Restaurant's decor fits an Italian theme, but there's no cheesy Italian music playing in the background. Actually there was no music playing in the background which made for a very quiet lunch. We ordered the Garlic knots and split a side salad as appetizers. The Garlic knots are very good and they were served with a marinara dipping sauce. The only downside to eating the garlic knots is that they may fill you up before you get your entree. For entrees I ordered the eggplant Parmesan and my husband ordered the veal Parmesan. Both were delicious! The veal was very tender and the eggplant was cooked perfectly. The table next to us ordered a pizza and it also looked really good! I'm sure anything you order here would be delicious. We will defineltely be back when were in the mood for Italian!

I love the location, service, pizza, and stromboli here. I finally tried pasta here and was not happy with my food. I ordered the shrimp scampi and it came out looking like shrimp noodle soup....no lie. Either the cook didn't drain the pasta properly or too much pasta water was added to the sauce. Either way, no flavor could stick to the pasta or shrimp since it was sitting in a water bath. It was gross and I asked the server to bring it back and drain the water out of my dish. I could only get flavor out of it afterwards by dumping parmesan, salt, and pepper over it. It is pretty difficult to mess up olive oil, garlic, white wine, and lemon, but it was a waste of $14 (overpriced for lunch). I will stick with pizza only.

I went for dinner yesterday and when I was in the place I realized that I have been here before many years ago because a friend from the northeast told us they had very authentic pizzas. My husband ordered mussels but anything to comment about. He ordered a pesto pasta that was very good and I ordered a chicken picatta but for my taste it had too much butter. This restaurant is located in the historic Norcross District and is great olace to go with family, children and friends.

mixed opinion by our family. so 3.5. not worth our drive to becoem a regular My mussels in Mariana sauce was excellent Wife's' clams white linguine sauce was mediocre at best Daughters pasta dish was pretty good. Son's chicken parm was mostly breading taste , very heavy ; but he'll love it anyway. Other daughter liked her Chicken Marsala, but i thought it was bland. Portion size large Portabella mushroom appetizer was very good; service very good; Noise high

We really wanted to give a generous review but unfortunately that is not the case. We waited forever for our bottled wine...apps and food. People say after U.S. Ate before us. Food was ok. In all honesty this could have been a better experience. As a team everyone should have been attentive. The babies were anxious and hungry. As a team they should have worked together to improve our overall experience. At the end the manager was nice enough to comp some desert. Thank you for that.

The food was really good! Huge portions, definitely worth the price. The only complaint that I had was they immediately sat us right next to this 4 top with this cackling old lady who looked like Kathy Bates on 'Misery.' Now I'm young and listen to my music very loudly but her voice was so ear shatteringly loud that we had to move. Actually we were originally going to cancel our orders and just leave that's how bad it was, but the hostess sat us in the very front. It's not like this was a bar! Management should have definitely stepped in seeing that the wait staff were just as annoyed as I was. After our meal we went next door to iron horse bar... A few minutes later I hear that same cackling laugh!!! But they saw us at the bar... Didn't hear a peep out of them, but I digress... The food at Paisanos was amazing!

Average pasta dishes from an average Italian kitchen in the sunny southern USA. Real Italian is only found in New York City , Chicago, and Italy. Imitation Italian can be found all over the USA. The food is not bad, sometimes tasty, but average. The rolls were delicious, though not free. Spaghetti and meat sauce was questionable because the sauce was out of a can with pieces of meat used for a pizza. Nothing spectacular, I had chicken Picatta ( not sure of spelling) which should have been on the pan fried side, but taste like it was microwaved. A little on the high side for what was received.......Not true Italian, Italian Norcross style

Went back for a second time on a Saturday night and took my brother who we were raving to about this place. Sadly, it wasn't the same experience. As mentioned it was a Saturday night but there were only 3 tables of people in there and 3 servers who were completely flakey. We asked for water not once, not twice but 3 freakin times. HELLO, it's water it's not a specialized gluten free meal. The food was sub par from the first time we went. I don't know if they got a new chef or what but we were very bummed it wasn't as good as we remembered. I was almost embarrassed after raving about it to my brother. Oh well...

Lovely italian place. The place is not too big so it gives you an intimate setting. I would give it five stars but I absolutely refuse due to the fact that they charge an additional $4 plate charge for sharing? WTH? OTHER than that, everything else was wonderful most especially the food. We came here for a girl's night out/birthday. Our server was so patient with our fussiness, and everything was on point. We had the chips with cheese appetizer, and it was delicious. I must say that it is a definite guilty pleasure with all the fried and cheesy goodness. It also comes with sourcream that has the kick of sweetness. I had the Chicken Florentine: grilled chicken, pasta (tossed in olive oil and garlic), and a bed of spinach. DELICIOUS. I ordered angel hair pasta (highly recommend,) and this is probably one of the lightest plate you can get in their entree menu. I was able to try my friend's Chicken Francese, and that thing is mighty delicious as well! You can definitely taste the egg in there!! soooo good!! Then, for dessert, we were able to try their cannolini, and if you have a sweet tooth, you might just enjoy it. Although it was very good, after a couple of bites, I could not have any more of it. All in all, I was very happy with the food, but like I said, I do not agree with an extra charge for wanting to share your plate. I might just come back in this place. If you are in a tight budget however, I recommend for you to visit their website and check out their menu and prices.

At 2:30 pm on a Sunday, we were one of four tables in this cute Italian spot in downtown Norcross. The service was lukewarm, but the atmosphere was laid back and a perfect way for two friends to catch up over carbs and the occasional passing of the train. We decided to go francese -- Shrimp francese for me with angel hair pasta and my friend chose Chicken Francese with steamed broccoli on the side. Essentially, our shrimp and chicken were dipped in flour and egg, then fried and dressed with lemon juice. The servings were generous and I enjoyed a bite of the juicy chicken on my friend's plate. As for my dish, I found the breading on the shrimp to be a bit soggier than I expected and there wasn't much contrast in texture with the pasta on my plate. Based on the great reviews, I'll be back to answer my next pizza craving and maybe I'll even carryout a cannoli to enjoy near the fountain just steps away at Lillian Webb Park.

It's a shame...the food was really good despite the fact it had been sitting under a heat lamp for god knows how long. The service was horrible...but what was worse than the service, was the way the "managers" conducted themselves. I've never seen anyone in management so willing to throw a colleague under the bus. Yes...our server was terrible. But who hired her in the first place? Who trained her? Who gave her 4 tables...3 together and 1 (mine) across the restaurant? Who didn't make sure she knew the special before dinner? Who ran out of Blue Moon on a Saturday at 7:15p? Who promised the bill would be adjusted because one of us didn't get what we ordered and then failed to make the adjustment? Who told our table to "go crazy" on the desserts only to have the replacement server tell us only 2 desserts we're being comped for a party of four? None of the answers to those questions are our original server. There is no need for a restaurant manager to ever share the disciplinary action being taken on an employee while we are sitting at the table. It is unprofessional, catty and lacks maturity to think that my night will somehow be better knowing the server who was setup to fail will get in trouble. "Hopefully, you''ll give us another chance." Why would I? What's the incentive? Even the promise of comped desserts was a debacle. Yes, the food was really good, but this is Atlanta. There are dozens if not hundreds of restaurants with really good food. 25 minutes to place an order Another 20 minutes to get salad Another 30+ minutes to get the order 30 minutes trying to enjoy our heat lamp meal 15 or so minutes watching employees fumble over our bill in order to make two SIMPLE adjustments, both of which were over billing related. Sorry, but Paizano's food isn't THAT good. If you want to waste a customer's time and mislead them in order to get them to come back, you're going to have to come up with a better strategy than "hope".

Many others have said this but the service is slow here. The food is worth the wait though. The garlic knots are fantastic. I ate more than I should have and was unable to finish my entree. I had the gnocchi and thought it was excellent. The sauces are very good and compare well with places I have visited in the northeast. Relaxed atmosphere miles away from a franchise like olive garden and good food for a pretty decent price!

Fantastic service & meal at Paisanos. A year ago we had such a bad experience, we swore never again - but I am glad we took a chance. Craig the bartender and somewhat of a manager made our night flawless. We had linguine and clam sauce - perfect, the chicken Stromboli - very good, mussels in red sauce - delicious! We ate at the bar and enjoyed amazing service and attention from Craig! Cannoli a for dessert finished the night - we are all stuffed & happy! Craig is opening pomodoros in Asheville - check it out!!

Went here Sunday for dinner with another couple and enjoyed it a lot. We all passed around each other's dishes so everyone got to try a sample of 5 different entries. We started with calamari and garlic rolls. The garlic rolls were the stand out here as I could have snacked on those all night. More like 3.5 stars if the rating option was available. To make a long story short the dinners were all good and I can't say anything bad about any of the meals. There wasn't anything truly spectacular happening with the menu and there is no reason to go far out of the way to come here but if you want to get your Italian fix and are in the area then this place will fill that need. I'm coming from Kennesaw Mountain and the other family came from Flowery Branch so this is a good middle to meet at. We will be back.

Cozy Italian restaurant tucked away in downtown Norcross. They do a great job of hosting groups of 10+ in a side area. Even for a group of 20+, they do a FANTASTIC job of bringing multiple waiters and waitresses to give you fast service and drink refills. It would be a great place to take a date as you would be able to have good conversations and have plenty to do in the area afterwards. The garlic knots are must tries. It comes in a half dozen or dozen. They're basically mini garlic breads (not crunchy, but soft and chewy). They are amazing but you wouldn't need more than half a dozen for 3 people. The portions for the pastas and pizza are HUGE. They cut into slices of 6 and the medium pizzas are so big that I could only finish one piece. The pastas come in large plates and are definitely enough to share for two people with less than average appetites. If you have a hankering for Italian and don't want to go to a chain, this is the place to be!

I'm not a fan of eating Italian out but they won me over. Paizanos is a smaller restaurant and has a bar. My 2 year old always comes with me, has a good time and leaves with a full belly (which isn't any easy thing at a restaurant). She enjoys the pictures on the walls and people watching thru the front window. Bartenders are very attentive, servers could use a bit more training and product knowledge. I tried the spaghetti with meatballs. It was pretty good and the portion was huge. We love the pizza! Their dough is delicious. I've been at lunchtime on a weekday and Tuesday evenings. Carryout special on Tuesdays is awesome $8.88 for a large cheese pizza (additional toppings are extra). My daughter and I hang out at the bar while we wait for the carry-out pizza. I like that this place is family friendly.

Paizano's has been a family favorite for going on 5 years now -- great service and great food! We were celebrating our son's 16th birthday and this is where he wanted to dine. My husband and I did notice that his piece of lasagna was considerably smaller than it has been in the past but with that being said -- he still couldn't finish it! If you have never been to Paizano's...what are you waiting for?!?!?!

The food was good and big portions! The unfortunate part of our experience was the 3 separate tables with small children screaming or running around. We were looking for a nice, relaxing dinner out, but it was extremely noisy and hectic. We moved tables once in hope that it would get better, but we didn't realize that it was just as bad on the other side of the restaurant. They should have put all of the families in the front area that is somewhat separate from the main part of the restaurant so it wouldn't bother the rest of the patrons. I am a mother and usually can overlook a screaming child, but it was out of control from every part of the restaurant and it went on for our entire visit. Parents really need to be more considerate of other people paying good money for a nice meal. I would never allow my children to continue to scream like that. I would have gone outside or gotten my meal to go. The waitress apologized and was clearly annoyed as well.

Good food and good service. The garlic knots are good. The Stromboli was delicious. The stuffed shells were good as well.

Continuing my culinary adventures in Historic Norcross, it was time to visit Paizanos since I had a craving for pizza. I can sum up their food thusly: garlicky and greasy deliciousness. There it is, that's my review. 'Nuff said. No? Alright, I'll give you more details. We started our dinner off with their Garlic Knots. These knots sat upon a shallow pool of olive oil with copious amounts of garlic and grated Romano cheese. In the middle of the plate, we were given a bowl of spicy marinara to dip our knots into. I can now confirm what so many people have been saying here on Yelp - the garlic knots are excellent! The half order of 6 knots was plenty for the two of us as a starter. My wife ordered their chicken Stromboli, I ordered a personal size "Bronx Bomber" pizza. My pizza was topped with pepperoni, sausage, meatball, and prosciutto. My pizza was meaty deliciousness (though I couldn't differentiate between the sausage and meatball on the pizza). They were very generous with the toppings. Given how expensive of an ingredient prosciutto is, I was amazed to see how much they actually piled on to my pizza. The crust was also very good and the cheese was ooey-gooey perfection. Even with my pizza being a personal size (10"), I was unable to finish the last two slices. My wife only managed to down half of her Stromboli. This of course meant leftovers for lunch the next day. No complaints here! Our waitress was very nice and attentive. She even was so kind as to box up our leftovers for us. I will definitely keep Paizanos in mind when I get a pizza or pasta craving again. They had no problem satisfying it. I'm happy.

Awfull experience. 1.Served 1/2 glass flat beer from end of keg, then 1/2 glass from new keg. 2.Salads were limp and stale. 3.Italian salad dressing was so acidic it was inedible. 4.Had to ask for bread. 5.Entrees were drowned in sauce, on presentation all we could see was pasta at one end of the plate and a lake of sauce at the other. My sauce was overloaded with capers, my wife's red snapper was watery inside. The food was probably factory made and then thawed and reheated, nobody with any pride could cook this poorly. The place may be great for pizza and beer, but I would stay away from the salads and entrees.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
