Aside from the confusing detail of having sushi at Kai Thai, the food is pretty okay. It is somewhat overpriced for what you get. The service is good, and the food is decent, but you'll pay a lot, and will probably leave hungry. I had the Tom Yum, which was pretty good, but I've definitely had better.

I was visiting Milledgeville for orientation & we yelped to see where to eat & chose Kai Thai. It is some of the best Thai food I have ever had & we eat a lot of ethnic food. Amazing pad see ewe & appetizer sampler. Will definitely recommend and come back

Best food quality for the price in Milledgeville. Fresh, crisp vegetables. Flavorful ingredients. Creative recipes. Attentive, enthusiastic servers. Just a great little place. I eat here usually multiple times per week.

Kai Thai is great and a welcome edition to Milledgeville. I would say it is the best Thai food in Milledgeville (it is), but it is also the only Thai restaurant in Milledgeville. For dinner we ordered Pad Thai and Tom Yum soup to go. The young lady working the cash register was very delightful and happy to help us; trust me we needed all the help we could get after being at the bar watching the Dawgs dominate the Jackets and stopped here since it was on our way home. After getting home we opened the bag and to our amazement the food was plentiful. The pad Thai was cooked just right from the tenderness of the noodles to the consistency of the fried egg that adorned them. The soup was also really good, but found it strange that they put noodles in the soup and serve it with a side of white rice. Still this meal was just what the doctor ordered to soak up the football fueled drinking binge.

This is the only decent ethnic food restaurant in all of Milledgeville. The food is fresh and tasty and quite comparable to what you get at mid-priced Thai restaurants in larger towns and cities. My personal favorite is the eggplant with fried tofu prepared at four stars of spiciness. I also love the Thai iced tea. Yum.

I try to eat there at least once a month. The service is prompt and attentive. They will prepare any dish to your personal degree of hotness. If you like most oriental style dishes, you will love Kai Thai. I recently tried their new dish, Shrimp Choo Chee [spelling]. It combines the shrimp with spicy curry sauce. Yummy.. One downer. They took all the fancy toothpick holders out that were present on each table. I presume that the customers assumed they were souvenirs.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! If you are reading this review....read no further. Just follow the directions and go! This place is excellent! Best dumplings we have ever had! The ginger dressing is so good I could drink it! The spring rolls were perfect! The shrimp tempura roll....fabulous and the yakisoba is enough for 2 people to share and the flavor are amazing! My husband just said I need to get a to go box before I hurt myself! Don't let the location of this place fool You or stop you from going. When we heard it was in the Walmart strip mall we were hesitant too. But this place truly is a gem!!!! I wish my town had this very same restaurant!

One of our favorite thai restaurants. Just perfect and service is always very good. I can't speak for the Sushi but their Panag shrip or the chicken is wonderful. I can also suggest the Fresh spring rolls I love the sauce. A little extra bonus is they give you a salad with Asian dressing. I recommend to my friends and the inside is nice.

The sushi was decent but the Thai food was too sweet and no heat even when asked for.

Get the green curry. They have different heat levels. I always get "make you cry". My family and I have eaten at around a dozen Thai restaurants. This has, hands down, the best green curry I have ever eaten. An hour after eating this I crave more. We have learned to order a couple of to go containers for later. I half jokingly told my wife that she should get a part time job there just to see how they prepare the curry. It might have been closer to an eighth joking.

Their Pad Thai is pretty awesome. FOUR pages of Sushi on the menu might be a little much, but it's always good quality. Servers have always been A+ every single time, so that makes the experience a notch better. It can feel a bit crowded - I hope they move to a bigger location that's not in a strip mall because this is a really fine, quality restaurant that deserves a better space.

It's a rare thing to have a meal so good you immediately want to order another plate, but I'm beginning to think that will happen with every plate this restaurant makes. I forgot just how good Kai Thai is, and how they truly are one of the best Asian restaurants in Central Georgia. You wouldn't expect food this good from an establishment in a strip mall. The decor is great, the service is exceptional and the food is outstanding. Come here before anywhere else if you want something other than mall Chinese. You will leave satisfied!

I am an introverted foodie who believes that only the pettiest person would take the time to write a bad review on yelp because of some mediocre dinner. This food went above and beyond as one of the nastiest meals I have ever experienced. I have downed many full plates of wilted leaves, undercooked noodles, burnt meat, etc. I really don't see any of these issues as worth the confrontation. But when me and my boyfriend's bowls of soup came to our table tonight, we both immediately remarked on the smell of garbage. The food was so disgusting it was unreal. I joked with him about how Gordon Ramsay would probably find a dead body in their fridge. We stayed and made no comment because it's not our style, but I feel no regret making this post and bringing down Kai Thai's inexplicable five star rating, because it's the type of meal that just ruins a good day. The food was not fresh or authentic, and i couldn't even kiss my man after he ate it because the smell made my skin crawl. This is the first time I ever remember leaving a full plate of food at a restaurant. Ew!

I guess I'm no longer a native to central GA, since I've now lived in CA nearly twice as long! Yet I love the hominess and comforts to be found in the South. And despite being an ethnic restaurant, this place was the most welcoming of all the restaurants during my visit! They were silent when we arrived...and left. I'm talking crickets! Hopefully this just due to the time we came in, and not because people are scared to try something new! Just like any new ethnic food you try: you have to be willing to go a few times, order off-the wall dishes, and learn what you like and do not! The waitress was super friendly, smiling lots. She helped point out suggested dishes and asked what we were seeking. And they were SUPER fast (erm...then again, we were the only ones they were cooking for, so that's not a fair assessment). The food would rival anything I could get at home: a product of an immigrant family bring their true tastes and recipes to share! Always the best. Decor was traditional, but the photos seemed out of place...?? Regardless, there are not a lot of vegetarian friendly havens in the middle of the South: this one certainly gets two thumbs up from me!

I stopped by here since I was in the town for business and was looking for some Thai food. My gf was craving some Thai tea, and I the pad thai. When I got to Kai Thai, I wasn't so sure what to expect in the little location. By the time I got my food, boy was I impressed. The pad thai presentation is unique and perfect. The Thai tea was in a TALL glass and for the price (worth it) compared to $3.95 elsewhere! This has probably been one of the best Thai restaurants I've ever been in. Working as a server in a busy family restaurant, I can tell they are passionate about cleanliness, being friendly, and quality. The staff was attentive and friendly.

Okay so I haven't been to Thailand, so I don't know how "authentic" the food is at Kai Thai. I do know what I like, however, and the food here is outstanding! I wasn't sure what to expect because I tried another local Asian restaurant (Lieu Peking) that was high up on the Yelp list and I was very disappointed. I travel a lot and have generally found that I need to stay away from Chinese food unless I get it in San Francisco, Wash DC or perhaps New York, so I decided to try Thai here in Milledgeville. I ordered Heather's Pad Thai and the fresh rolls. I was really wowed! First let me say that at first, I thought the price was a little high at $10.50 for the pad thai and $4.25 for fresh rolls. I was so wrong. The portions are huge (I eat a lot!) and I didn't expect the additional salad that had a gingery dressing that I was looking for stuff to sop up the rest with! The pad thai was full of veggies--cabbage, snow peas, carrots--absolutely delicious! The fresh rolls were bursting with shrimp, fresh basil (a favorite of mine!), cilantro and noodles, and came with another freshalicious sauce. They need to bottle and sell their stuff. My one and only gripe is that the pad thai came with lemon instead of lime but that won't hinder me from eating every meal there for the rest of my stay in Milledgeville.

Love this place. The food and the people are great! Wish they didn't have the TV on at dinnertime but other than that one of our favorite places.

I live in Milledgeville so I was happy to see Kai Thia Restaurant open. I have traveled to Atlanta to Yum Yum Thai (don't let the name fool you) for the past 10 years to get the best Thai food I have ever tasted. I must admit I was a little reluctant to try Kai Thai because in my mind it looked (from the outside) to be the kind of place you walk up to the counter and order a #4. Oh my goodness, was I wrong. The decor on the inside was delightful. The waitress was attentive and very helpful. This place is set up(very simple, well explained, easy to understand menu) so someone that has never tried Thai food can know exactly what the ingredients are that make up the dish before you order. There are no surprises here until you taste the food. The food is just as delectable to the eye as it is to the pallet. The drunken noodles, pad Thai, soft shell crab, spider rolls, and roasted duck are some of the best I have ever tasted. Now after you read my list of goodies realize that I ate there twice(lunch and dinner) in one week. This place is owned by two sisters from Thailand and these ladies can cook. The waitresses eat for free so they have tried just about everything on the menu. You tell them what you like and the give excellent recommendations. The lunch specials include: a simple salad with amazing ginger dressing, one crispy spring roll and your main menu choice. The price is down right cheap (now don't go raising the price) for the amount of food you get. I am telling you, YOU HAVE GOT TO give Kai Thia a try. Simply Amazing. I am already looking forward to going back again.
