This is a nice little spot just off the McDonogh Square. The chopped bar-b-que is excellent and I love the sauce (which is on the side as I like it). The fries are fresh cut potatoes and are the best I've had. the slaw is very good and the Brunswick stew is good. This is a family owned place and the bar-b-ques is better than any chain I've been to. The prices are very good as well. This is not a fancy place, just a fine little place with great bar-b-que.

Went in for a late lunch on a weekday. Cute little diner. The service was good, the wait staff very friendly. The first thing that turned me off was the open bathroom door that sits pretty much in the dining room. The view into the kitchen was also pretty disappointing since we could see them making our bbq sandwiches with meat from a bag. The food arrived and we were even more disappointed. The kids chicken nuggets were clearly "banquet" style frozen nuggets. The kids hotdog was this giant fat dog that had been split down the middle and was burned so bad it was crunchy. Both buns for the bbq sandwiches were burned black on the tops. The bbq it's self was nothing special very bland and not much to it. The sauce tasted as if it came from a can, to sweet and very watery. Thank goodness the cook waited until after we got our food to go to the bathroom. But again when he came out purposely propped that bathroom door back open. gross. We will not be back.

We had lunch on an early Saturday afternoon. Homey little joint, just off the McDonough Square, but the food and service were both disappointing. The young woman taking our order didn't seem to know their menu at all; when asked if it was her first day, she said "no" and that was hard to believe. Meat was dry, stew was bland, the slaw was clearly dished up much earlier than when I ordered it, the smoked half chicken was inexplicably extracted from a plastic bag before being dished (easily witnessed from my view into the kitchen)...oh and we ordered the kids grilled cheese and fries - the fries never came, probably not a bad thing, but bad form on the part of the restaurant. I was content to finish and leave halfway through the meal so I didn't even bother asking for the MIA french fries. They need to step it up and show us the smoker, otherwise I have no reason to return.

The BBQ was just ok for me. The fries, Brunswick stew and sweet tea were awesome! The service is also excellent. It is clean, convenient and quick.
