This is the best place in Henry County to get BBQ. I haven't been in a while just because its so far out of the way but it would be worth the drive !

Disappointed. I've heard good things for years and was happy to see it show up in my GPS when I was in McDonough. Ordered a brisket plate with a side salad and dessert, only sides are chips, cole slaw and Brunswick stew. Stew was surprisingly bland, especially for a place with a good and flavorful sauce, reminded me a lot of canned Castleberry's. Weird texture on the slaw, even though it looked right The brisket didn't look so hot. It was more tender than it looked, but it tasted more like a processed brisket (like what you would get from Sam's) than fresh smoked brisket. Very salty, i expected better. Thin, very uniform slices. Could it be a bought-I'm product? I sure hope not Maybe the pork and chicken are better, but this visit was a bust Big crowd by the time I left, so maybe mine was the exception to the rule

Originally came to this little strip mall to do laundry. I could watch the clothes tumble about or follow that smokey scent that led me two doors down. Privately owned and operated and in the same spot for almost 30 years.; yeah, I'll bite. I never ask, "what's good here" because inevitably most places say that everything is good which gets me nowhere. Instead, I ask, "If I'm only ever going to have one meal here, what would you serve me?" The ladies were all in agreement that I should have the brisket plate which came with two slices of squishy white bread, a ladle of Brunswick Stew, a scoop of creamy, sweet slaw, brisket slices and a small bag of chips. Of course, since I'm in the south, I ordered a large sweet tea cut with unsweetened tea because I'm a non-diabetic lightweight. The brisket was smokey, with the ring for proof, moist and almost fork tender. Flavor and texture wise, it comes very close to the mass quantities of brisket that I had eaten in Texas earlier this year. It was very good but as someone else noted, a few pieces of char or burnt ends wouldn't hurt either. They lightly pre-sauce the meat and upon a return visit, I would order it dry. I like to judge BBQ on it's basic merits before I add sauce because so many BBQ places try to hide sin (poor technique) with sauce. This was not the case here at all. I enjoyed the sweet slaw and it was clear that this was homemade. Not necessarily orignal or special but decent. As for the stew, I know very little about Brunswick Stew but I liked with nothing really to compare it too. I could easily eat a much larger quantity of it. The two things I appreciated were: 1) The ladies who worked there were very kind to a Yankee, out-of-towner like me. 2) The smoker is actually part of the dining room; leaving no doubt that everything is done on site. I don't know if previous Yelp complaints were ever addressed but I see no reason to not recommend Pippins BBQ to anyone.

Pippins is my favorite BBQ restaurant in Henry County because the meat is tender and juicy and they have the best ever Worcestershire-based BBQ sauce. Man, that stuff is so good I could practically drink it. Their family style dinner is a pretty good deal and you can make multiple BBQ sandwiches from it. I really wish they were open later, though. They close at 7:30 p.m. which seems like it would be prime dinner time.

Been driving past this place for years so decided to give it a try. I felt that it was a run of the mill family BBQ house. The portions were a little slack. Brunswick stew was nothing special and I would not get it again. The slaw was pretty good and would definetly recommend it. As mentioned the BBQ was tender and moist but no smoke or bark.... I have had better. Not my favorite sauce but guess that is a personal thing.

I love the food here, but the service is terrible. I will probably not be coming back. I ordered 2 picnic packs which were listed as $34.99 each on there website. I placed my order over the phone and referenced the website in my phone call. At no point did anyone inform me that the prices were wrong on the website. When I get to the restaurant, I was charged $85 for a meal that should have been $70. When I asked the cashier, she says, "oh yeah, we haven't changed that yet." If I wasn't having house guests over tonight I would've told them to keep it. As it stands, they just lost this valuable customer.

Little store front next to laundry mat...top 3 brunswick stew on my list. Delicious. Very reasonable, sandwich plate with slaw, stew, chips and drink was $7.50! Sandwich was loaded with bbq which was moist and tender with an average sauce. Slaw leaned toward vinegar, prefer sweeter myself. Go for a good lunch!

Very clean BBQ. The meat is lean, always tastes good. Sauces are great and not too sweet. They make you feel at home. Love this place.

Went there with my family. Nice local joint. Creamy cold slaw. Great brunswick stew. Fall off the none tender ribs. Nice sauces. My favorite the "brown" sauce. Priced right. Friendly service. May be my new go to "Q" place.

Okay, I have been back and learned that they have Carolina sauce. LIFE IS GOOD!

Smoked chicken sandwich--you must try it! Best smoked/barbecued chicken sandwich around the Atlanta metro area! Not shredded bits, but chunks of smokey, jucy, tender chicken. BBQ pork is good, too, but I prefer the chicken. They don't have FF. Sauce is great: spicy not sweet and somewhat hot. The McDonough location is the only one I've tried, but there are other locations in Conyers & Covington. The one in McDonough is a tiny place in a strip shopping center just a few blocks from the town square...next door to a laundromat. Has a small dining room, but seems to be mostly take out business, except lunch. Can be crowded at lunch. Closes at 7:30 p.m., and is closed on Sunday & Monday. Quick service.
