This restaurant just made me go to another Chinese restaurant. I work at a store just a mile from here and thought I'd try this out. Boy was that a $5 waste. I love sweet and sour chicken so I ordered that. A co-worker of mine said they have kids up in the front and sometimes all around the lobby. Anyway after showing up and paying I later find out the sweet and sour chicken is just rice with chicken included with a bowl of sauce. No veggies or anything. I was like "That's it?" 25 minutes left on my brake time so figured I just stick with it. I didn't feel like going back and arguing.

This is one of my favorites for Chinese take-out. Located in the Kroger shopping center on the corner of Eastlake Parkway & GA 155 north. I have not tried too many of the dishes, but the Chicken with Broccoli is very good. Lots of tender chicken and perfectly cooked broccoli (tender but not overcooked). It's primarily a take-out place, but there is a small dining area. Large portions--enough for two meals--reasonable prices! Update: I had the Chicken with Snow Peas from the lunch menu today (2/18/15). Very good with tender chicken, crispy snow peas, delicate, tasty sauce, served with spring roll and fried rice which is also very good. Food is very fresh and savory.

Having developed a true LOVE for Chinese food or anything that goes with rice from childhood, I've tried Chinese food in many states as well as outside of the country. I've spent much time in the D.C. area, lived in NYC for several years and even fell in love with the interpretation of Chinese Food in Costa Rica. Although I wouldn't call myself an "expert" in American Restaurant Chinese food, I believe that my 30 years of "tasting" experience stands for something. To put it in a nutshell, I've shared food from China King with at least 10 friends and family members and the response is ALWAYS the same...they wish the lived closer to my area so they could go to China King more often because the taste and quality of the food far supercedes that of most Chinese restaurants they've tried. From the dumplings, to the fried rice, or shrimp n broccolli, fried chicken wings and curried beef...house chow mein, soups, etc....the food is GREAT!...perfectly seasoned, always hot and fresh, always ready in 10 minutes as promised....and for someone who enjoyed Chinese Food from the streets of NYC, this would be a HUGE compliment and my NYC friends and family all agree. For an extra kick, ask them to make any dish spicy and they will add just the right amount of pepper to add the perfect kick to your dish. I've been eating here for the past 8 years and will continue until they close..which I hope NEVER happens. The owner's children do spend a lot of time there outside of school, but they are always well behaved and the son is already learning the business by taking orders, etc. If you haven't tried it, please do and if you don't know what to order, start by ordering the items I listed above. :-)

The 4 stars are the best I give unless a place just blows my mind so there it is. Best place to have lunch in this area so far. I paid $6 even for the Mongolian beef lunch, good price. Food was really good for what it is, a strip mall restaurant. I love to get fried rice that has been cooked correctly not a burnt tast to it. I will be back. The amount they give you is just right. They give you enough to get full but not gorge. I walk there and myf ood was already done.

I eat China King food a lot. Reason #1: They are close. This is the closest chinese take out to my house. Reason #2: They have not poisoned me yet. I have had bad luck with shopping mall chinese take out in my lifetime. Reason #3: Their food is good. I did not say great because at times it can be under seasoned. But overall it tastes fresh. Reason #4: Their kids are a riot. The owner's two kids hang out in the waiting area / dining room and have no problem in engaging you in a conversation about their latest toys or interests.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
