Maybe we caught them in an off night based on all the rave reviews but we were completely underwhelmed. We both had margaritas which were decent. I thought the salsa was pretty spicy, maybe I'm just a wimp but it definitely had a kick! Now where things really went down, the entrees. I had what as described on the menu as a super sized quesadilla with spinach and cheese (at $8.99 I was expecting something kind of substantial) it was literally some thawed frozen spinach in a tortilla with a sprinkle of cheese. Totally disappointing and not really tasty at all. My husband had the shrimp fajitas, they were meh. We used a scoutmob deal to get $10 off, had it not been for that I probably would have sent my food back but I really just wanted to call it even and leave!

Came here last sunday with my boyfriend, we were greated right away. I had the shrimp cocktail which wasn't great but it was decent, could use more flavor. The plate my boyfriend had didn't come with a side of tortillas which i thought was wierd but we ordered them anyway, when they arrived they were handmade which i thought was awesome. When i ordered dessert, five minutes into it my waitress dropped of the check that i did not ask for and walked away. I didnt like that and thought that was very rude (she never came back after that) it made me feel rushed even though i was planing to make a small to go order. At the end i decided not to place the order, however i did want a to go water and it took a good while for me to get a water (i had to ask another waitress which i often had done through out my meal). The Service is ok at first but then they don't care much and the food is alright.

Eaten here twice and both times had good food and good service. First go I was being healthy and had a salad (which wasn't all that healthy with the cheese) and a skinny margarita that was yummy. Second visit was with my husband and son. I had supreme nachos with chicken, beans, beef, sour cream guac and a side of rice. A little bit of everything makes me very happy. Hubby had a shrimp dish we he thoroughly enjoyed and my fussy son had a steak burrito. Will eat here again.

Like most Mexican Restaurants they start with chips and salsa but I must say Viva is better than most. Chips always are brought to the table warm and not over cooked and Salsa has a kick but not too spicy!!!! The food is like most. Hot plate...Yet, truly I must say my favorite dish is the Chicken Soup. It fresh, healthy, and it is an AWESOME explosion of flavors in your mouth!

Honestly, my favorite place to go eat. Period. I've been to all the other Mexican restaurants around the area but this one taste the best. Plus the servers are super nice. Even on busy nights you get your food pretty fast. The chips and salsa are amazing and not too spicy. We always get the cheese dip along with the salsa. I would definitely recommend their taco salad or chimichanga!

Came here before watching a movie across the street. They have a outdoor patio area as well. The staff is really friendly and accommodating. I absolutely love their chips and salsa, but other than that, the food is just okay. Their queso is a little watery compared to other places I've been. My friend ordered a beer on tap but the beer was warm. Even the chill glass they poured it in didn't cool it down enough. I ordered the chicken taco salad. It wasn't to bad. This place is pretty cheap so that's a plus. We order queso and two taco salads and the bill came out to be about $20 bucks. Overall, this place was mediocre, but I would give it a second chance and try some other stuff on their menu. Other than that, I'd definitely just come back for their chips and salsa.

Arguably the best Mexican Food in Marietta. Have an extensive list of lunch specials available on Saturday in addition to weekdays. Sundays they sometimes have home made tortillas. Used to go to La Parilla but his has become my go to place. Better food, better price and a little more intimate.

An unassuming little spot, this is actually my favorite Mexican restaurant in town. They have a sizable menu and the food is always excellent. They have the usual combos #1-900, but try some of the special dishes instead. And their Chori Queso is not to be missed! Large portions and great prices.

Order the Martine Special Margarita!!! Use to be a LaParrilla regular, but this place is the best and they have the best service!!!

Like most places, they start you with chips and dip. Chips were warm and this SALSA....greatness! Best I've had in a while. I usually go to La Parilla for my Mexican fix, but no more. I've passed this restaurant so many times and never considered going. I found the deal on Scoutmob and will definitely be a regular!! Friendly service and my food came pretty quickly. The salsa was so good that I out my entree to the side to finish. I ordered the Paella Mexicana: Chicken, steak, shrimp, scallops, onions and tomatoes over a bed of rice and covered with cheese. Great portion. Full of flavor, you can taste each ingredient and they all go well together. Also comes with a side of lettuce, pico and guacamole. I love the guacamole, not sure what they do differently but it has an amazingly fantastic taste. They also have a Tuesday and Saturday margarita special, I'll definitely be partaking next time. I'll be leaving the restaurant stuffed and fully satisfied. I also will be warming up the rest of my paella for dinner...didn't even finish half of it.

Service was very nice and accommodating. Food was okay. Lot of high reviews here so maybe it was a bad day. Went for early dinner, very reasonable prices and large portions. Our 3 entrees came out quickly, within about 10 minutes of ordering. To be fair, the super fajita quesadilla with accompanying fresh guacamole and pico de gallo was very tasty and fresh, with lots of chicken. Enchiladas were fine, nothing remarkable and sort of bland sauce. Unfortunately, the chile poblano (I think this is the name; chile stuffed with chicken then deep fried) was not good, and my dining companion agreed. The breading had a bad flavor that I can't describe. Old oil maybe? The filling was great but I couldn't palate the breading, which is rare for me, so I gave the dish back to the waitress. She was really nice about it and it didn't show up on our bill, which I appreciate. I'd give this place another try if I craved Mexican food and was in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way.

I've been eating at this location for years and years.. (since 1998). I Haven't been there much since i have moved out of that area, but every time I go back i'd have to say the food is always consistently good and the service is great. Seems like its always the same people to, and they seem to always remember us which is nice. My favorite is The Super Fajita Quesadilla. They have some good margaritias too! If you haven't been, I highly recommend this location.

I have driven by this place several times and wondered if they were any good. I Saw the good reviews and decided to give them a try. The chips and salsa were very good. The chips came out warm and the salsa had real good flavor. I am not a big salsa person but really enjoyed theirs. I ordered a Texas margarita and it was very smooth but had a nice kick to it. I ordered the paella Mexicano and the portion was huge! It was very good. I definitely will return. I would have given 5 stars but the waitress didn't speak good English and didn't get my order exactly right and had a hard time getting it corrected due to language barrier. They were very friendly and service was fast.

My boyfriend and I just went in for drinks. The margarita special is awesome. It's $2.95 for the regular margarita on a Tuesday night. The chicken soup is very good. The best one I've had was at El Azteca on Roswell Rd. and this place is comparable. The salsa is also yummy. We'll be back. (I say this and I don't even like Mexican food. Watch your bill though. We had 4 margaritas and got charged for 5.

I found this place via Scoutmob. Where has this place been all my life? This place is casually tucked in the corner of a little plaza. It has outside seating which is always a plus. The Mr. and I walked inside and I noticed that they had a little candy station set up with blow pops and other childhood candy. I chuckled. We walked straight to the back door to the patio. We sat down and was greeted with a friendly waitress. We ordered beers and chips and salsa of course. This salsa!!!! It wasn't your average Pace salsa with a lil pizzazz, this salsa had a whole lot of flavor and spices going on! I was already in love. We decided to try something new - well he did. I didn't. I always get the same thing - Shrimp Fajita Nachos. The Mr. go the Seafood Paela served with lobster, shrimp, scallops, chicken and beef I believe. He really liked it. I enjoyed my nachos too. The shrimp were seasoned to perfection. I added guacamole and sour cream. I wish I hadn't because it was already too much on the plate and there was no way that I could finish it. I had to take it home. Sour cream and guac don't reheat too well :-/ I didn't even notice that there were 2 size options - the waitress asked if I wanted the full order and without thinking I said yes. I really wanted some churros but I didn't have enough space for them lol I'll eat light next time and try them. We checked out at the register and of course my beau had to get some blow pops with his childish ass lol. The manager joked around with us and asked us to return again. Your wish is our command, sir!

My movie date and I decided to get a quick bite before going to the NCG movie across the street. We were seated right away, service was fast & nice. The grilled chicken tacos at this place are the best I've ever had, hands down....I'm a fan! Nice Texas Margaritas also

Regular frequent customer but had a poor experience recently. Had difficulty ordering as waitress didnt understand marguarita with orange liquor, brought regular marguirta with orange slice :) (see picture) This was despite my guest slowly and repeatedly explaining.what she wanted. When food arrived, order was not as requested and waitress argued we had asked for the item. We accepted it, but didnt know what it was, but was tasty. Hope this was just a fluke, but was embarrassing as we had 1st time guests with us.

Ok, first of all, let's set the tone. It's a Mexican restaurant which come a dime a dozen in Atlanta! It's nothing fancy about it, it is not fine dining Mexican, it is just a regular old Mexican joint. You won't be wowed by the décor or the ambiance anything. However, you can grab a decent Mexican meal. Overall, the food is good. The food almost reminds me of "home-style" cooking. Although, I am not sure what Mexicans eat at home or what they consider home-style food. My terminology of home-style is always something that was cooked from the heart, and not necessarily to turn a profit. To wrap it up, there is an equal value to the food and service we received to what we paid, so overall it is a decent place to go for a bite to eat and we will go back there again.

Service was excellent and the food was way better then some chains that shall remain nameless. I will definitely come back here especially since I hear that they have weekend drink specials.

Great local Marietta Mexican food. Better than La Parilla by far. Small, quaint, and casual but the food is amazing.

This is a great lunch option for people who work in Marietta. They are very well staffed and the service was friendly and QUICK! The restaurant offers complimentary, unlimited chips and salsa. There are lunch specials for 5.99; however, the lunch menu is pretty fantabulous and ginormous. I cleaned my Pollo Con Arroz plate. I was going to order the chicken soup, but I wasn't sure if it was going to fill my tummy. My friend ended up ordering the chicken soup; it was a good portion and looked very hearty. Two minor things I don't really like includes the fact that the restaurant is really dimly lit. I think some people prefer that, but I'm the kind of girl who likes to eat her lunch in a brightly lit space, preferably huge fluorescent lights. Also the chairs here are very light and flimsy. My friend hanged her purse on the chair and when she got up, the chair fell over. I felt as though I might break the chair, myself. They do have booths as well, but we were seated at a table with chairs. Yelp 365 #4/365

Yes, I drive to Marietta for Mexican food, and no, I'm not ashamed. The taco salads are huge, fresh and exploding with homemade guacamole and tons of freshly shredded white meat chicken. The salsa has a serious kick, and will make you gulp down your gigantic sparkly diet coke. The specials are truly special, and the servers are so gracious and thoughtful that you really do feel like you're part of the family. Plus, when your bill rings in at only $25 for two entrées, two sodas, a beer, tax AND tip, it really makes it worth the extra gas to get up here.

I've frequented this restaurant for years and always am pleased with the quick seating. I do however have a flexible schedule and can get in on the hours when I know I am before the rush, etc. They become extremely busy and especially on the week-end,moreover Friday nights. The food is turned out in a reasonable amount of time and is hot and fresh when it arrives at your table. I am probably an exception to some, whereas I like the house margaritas better than the top shelf basically anywhere I go and theirs to me are the best in the area hands down. I tell everyone I see about the margaritas there if the subject of where to get margaritas is brought up. I am treated well like family when I come in and greatly appreciate the recognition. I highly recommend them if you're looking for a quaint friendly setting for a meal to any and everyone!

Sorry, I'm a Cali girl so I know good Mexican food and can even make it quite well myself at home but when I don't want to cook which is often i like to go out to get it. First of all I felt as though we were squeezing in to the place, very narrow aisle and when we were leaving it was a struggle getting past a waitress who seemed irritated that we were coming out and had to squeeze by her to get out. Back to the review I realize at just about all Mexican places that the Combo plates are pre-prepared and frozen then heated up to quickly serve hence the hot plates but my meal was very dry and flavorless the taco tasted as though all the life was removed from it and my burrito was dry and the beans lacked flavor, my hubby seemed to really enjoy his food but he's not a foodie like I am my drink was strong but lacked the taste I crave in a margarita. No offense to my fellow yelpers but this isn't the first time I was led by great reviews to a Mexican spot with sub par food. I'm not hard to please but I know great Mexican when I get it and so far the best place i've gone to In Georgia has been to a place in Kennesaw I just hate driving that far from gwinette county. I also recommend they soak their pinto beans a few days before serving them as it significantly reduces gas/bloating to say the least I had enough gas after this meal to get us back to gwinette!!!not bad food but definitely not good enough to return nice server though but I felt rushed to leave salsa had a nice kick but still not impressed.

The food and the service are both excellent. I stumbled across this place about a month ago. I've been at least once a week since then. If you like fresh, great tasting food, and fast, friendly service, you will find it all here. The fajitas and the sopa de pollo are both worth writing home about. If you're in the area, don't pass up this place.

This is the go-to Mexican restaurant for my fiancé and me. It's not a huge space, so be prepared if you arrive during peak dining hours. You could find yourself waiting in a space hardly big enough to seat more than 2 people so you're likely to just be standing around and moving out of the way of servers and other customers. Food is inexpensive, but always good. Never had a bad meal there. Considering we frequent at least once a week, I would expect the staff to be a little friendlier. Margarita specials on the weekend and their salsa is awesome!

There are so many Mexican restaurants around where we live, but my fiancée and I always drive the extra 15 minutes to Viva Mexico! It's small, consistently delicious, has a huge variety of dishes, and is authentic. The salsa is always slightly different which is a plus to me. The flavors are always on point and varied a small amount--always perfect amount of spice and smokiness. Can't forget their margarita special on Saturday!

Really good Baja style Mexican. The service was great and the margaritas were strong. The guacamole appetizer was kinda small and it was a bit bland (no veggies in it). But I'm a Cali guy and it was as good as homes.

Love this place! It is right around the corner from me. The staff is very friendly, the food is always fresh, tasty and hot, always very busy and the wait to be seated is very minimal! Highly recommend!

Really good Baja style Mexican. The service was great and the margaritas were strong. The guacamole appetizer was kinda small and it was a bit bland (no veggies in it). But I'm a Cali guy and it was as good as homes.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
