Solid place, meat quality was great, and the service was very good. If you are really authentic, you need to ask for the extra ban chan ( side dishes) otherwise they dont bring it. Always fantastic food.

Best Korean restaurant in town! I think I might have a gochujang addiction.

I used to live on this side of town, and it was like a fish out of water being this far away from buhi and pleasant hill. However, I discovered this place as a pleasant surprise. I went a handful of times with friends and even alone. This restaurant is run by Koreans and I'm glad it is. Because they make it like its supposed to be. I had Jjol myun here (chewy rice noodles). They make it well, good with spices and vegetables. One of my favorites. Another is their Japchae, which is like Korean vermicelli. Clear rice noodles, They season it heartily and add a good amount of veggies and ground beef. The galbi is ok. not bad. The prices are standard for korean dinner. Also once, I ran in after having a bad day at work, on the run to a night class, and they made a perfect bowl of noodles that I was craving. I ate in 15 min and ran, completely satisfied. From what I remember they are not stingy about ban chan, which they have a good variety of. Also one of the things I like about the place are the tables outside. They are decorated in a korean/ out in the country/ farm type of way. Its very cute. This is how I feel here, very comfortable. Also kudos to them, because many Korean restaurant owners don't pay attention to these kinds of details.

For New Years Eve me and my husband have been wanting to try this place out, we heard so many great reviews. When we arrived we weren't sure if we needed to seat ourselves because the place was only about 25% full, and the lady waved us off and told us we needed to wait. We stood there and watched people getting their food, there must have been 4 waitstaff but no one seated us, then a gentleman I am assuming owner said it would be 5 minutes. He continued to serve food, and we stood waiting to sit down. There were plenty of empty tables but after standing for 20 minutes my husband got frustrated and they just kept walking past us! We ended up not eating there because obviously actually sitting customers was not a priority and we ate at the Mexican place near by.

Tofu Village is a place we go quite frequently. It is close to home and let's make no mistake about it; it is exceptionally good Korean food. If you do the Korean barbecue, all of the food is cooked over charcoal right in front of you, adding to the flavor experience. The service is usually of a high standard, but there is an inconsistency that may have you encountering rather rude servers. My issue with this restaurant are the high prices and relatively small portions at dinner. Lunch is fairly priced, but be sure to come for lunch only during the week, otherwise your lunch will be double the price you were expecting as they will charge you full dinner prices. Unfortunately, the downsides to eating here are starting to inspire us to find another place for Korean food.

DELICIOUS! I ordered a tofu stew lunch special for $7.99, which included a small salad with a fresh, creamy, tangy dressing (obviously not from a bottle); five or six banchan; and the stew. Very good banchan - mung bean jelly, housemade spicy tofu (all of their tofu is housemade), pickled sprouts, kimchee, pickled green beans. Very tasty spicy tofu and mushroom stew brought bubbling to the table. Full of fantastic tofu and chewy, slippery mushrooms. PERFECT rice. I am very excited to return to try their housemade noodles. Extremely friendly, welcoming staff. Very clean.

The side dishes here are amazing and are refilled. The staff is very helpful in showing you how to traditionally eat whatever your meal may be.

Tasty and closer than Buford Hwy! Especially the homemade tofu...get the homemade tofu! Everything else is standard Korean BBQ fare (which suits me just fine). It's the Han Il Kwan of the north.

I came here today with three of my co-workers for lunch. From the outside, it seemed like an outdated place.. but hey, all run of the mill, hole in the wall, awesome good eats are like that aren't they? :) When we got there, I glanced around and noticed that 95% of the patrons were of Asian decent, one guy is in the force, and there were a couple of others. You KNOW a restaurant is good when most of the people there are of that culture. Anyway, we were seated very quickly at a table without a grill, so we checked out what the lunch specials were. We started off with the pa jun (scallion pancakes) which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Two of my co-workers got the bulgogi, one got tofu soup, and I got a spicy pork dish. I think I can safely say that we all will definitely go back. Keep in mind that one of my co-workers is Caucasian with a very picky palate, and he ate all of his food, plus my leftovers! Haha. I only gave this place 4 stars instead of 5 because I've been to bigger and better ones and I'm kinda comparing.. :p But otherwise, it's a GREAT place in an area not big on any ethnic cuisine.

I became obsessed with Korean BBQ when I taught ESL in Korea years ago. My husband and I always get an order of bulgogi (beef) and sahm gup sal (pork) when we go, and along with all the side dishes, we leave so stuffed we're practically sick. If you don't know what you're doing, they will demonstrate how to eat it, whether you ask or not :) It may weird some people out, but it's definitely authentic---I don't know how many times in Korea a restauranteur would come over and show one of us a better way to stir something or wrap something. But they are all very friendly.

Our group of 8 had a ridiculously good time last Saturday. A private room is definitely worth it. I should say though, that we also ate in our private karaoke room and not in the restaurant. The karaoke area is a little tricky to find but if you go to the main entrance they will kindly redirect you to the back. Everyone I encountered there was really really nice... which is esp impressive considering our group was quite loud and obnoxious. We had a sampling of dishes (pajeon, buldak, tukbokki) while we sang and drank and everything was tasty and really well flavored. The layout of the song list kinda sucks bc it's all by song instead of artist. But, they do let you adjust all the music effects, which is nice.

Great spot. Terrific, helpful service and fab bbq. This place is fun for the whole family, and a better option than Japanese steak houses. Highly recommend Tofu Village to anyone that wants Korean BBQ outside of Duluth or Buford Highway. Next time, karaoke!

When I first visit an Asian restaurant, I immediately look for fellow Azns. If an Asian restaurant doesn't have a decent number of Asian customers, I immediately turn around and leave. Okay, so this place was packed with them. I felt guilty taking a 4-top table by myself, but I really wanted Korean BBQ (which was my daily weekend diet when I lived in Hawaii) so I continued to be seated. The server was very nice and attentive. The setting has tables in the center of the room, with the well-known korean bbq tables along the windows, each with a grill in the center of the table to guests to cook their food. I decided to order the octopus, though sadly I was raised by white parents, so i can't begin to tell you what the Korean name of this it :( The food rolled out on a cart, sizzling of course, and I was given a nice (though few in number) of the panchan. For once I wasn't happy with the kim-chi, though maybe they just had a young batch of it through their supplier. The food was great, the server attentive to my needs, and I left as a happy Korean. Apparently they also do Kareoke? I'm not sure of this, as I haven't been there at night

This is a str8 place! I took a friend of mines for her bday and although we loved it, the portions are small and quite pricey! But, the food is good and they cook it in front of you!

This place has great Korean food and is affordable. I love it because I don't have to drive all the way out to Gwinnett/Buford/Duluth area area to have yummy Korean food. I've taken a lot of my friends there and they all loved it. Including my picky godson! The staff is very friendly for an Asian restaurant and service has always been prompt.

Vely clean establishment. Unlike my unforgettable Chinese food experience of 5 years ago, the restaurant is NOT located next to a veterinary clinic, which all in itself is a great relief. The small dishes brought out with the bweef I ordered were delicious, the bweef was plentiful, although I had assumed for soum reasom the cue would be juicy, swimming in some Korean bbq saucey! Bathroom was large and clean smelling. Me likes!

We have had the Kalbi and Bulgogi at the grill, as well as Kalbi sizzling platter for dinner, Dol Sot Bibimbap and others. All were very tasty, as well as the banchan. Kimchee banchan were good, but we have had to get refills on the japchae and tofu...really good stuff. The staff is friendly and eager to help , even if there is a language barrier at times. Nice to find a Korean restaurant in East Cobb without having to head for Buford Highway or Gwinnett. If you have not given Korean food a try, this is a great place to start.

This restaurant is a little misleading (to an American like me) this is not a vegetarian restaurant. Plenty of meat is served here. It also is completely out of place, in a weird little strip mall off of Sandy Plains. It's actually pretty nicely decorated inside. The staff is overly friendly and helpful. If they notice you don't know how to use chopsticks, they will run over and show you! They are also quick to suggest different items than the ones you may have ordered. I have been here a couple times, the first time was really delicious and the second time I think I just picked the wrong plate. It can be hard to decide if you're not Korean or familiar with that kind of food. The portions are HUGE! I really like the "ban chan" that comes with every meal - 6 or 8 little unlimited side dishes with things like kim chee and some kind of flavored tofu. There is also a BBQ area here which I honestly have not done and have no clue how it works. I believe you cook the meat yourself. Anyways, love this place...great variety to have nearby.

Being that one of my best friends is from Korea and I would eat Korean up to 3 times a in Houston week the sign along I-75N had me at hello. The decor was that of a typical Korean Restaurant in America. There was a group of approximately 20 American coworkers having bbq and a few spattered American couples on dates obviously having Korean for the first time. So I was not optimistic. I kept it simple and order beef and pork bulgogi. I don't like to bbq it myself anymore so I ordered from the back. It came out looking like a bulgogi/ jop jei mixture. I had to request them to bring bean paste and lettuce so I wasn't too happy about that. I'm glad I did though. The bean paste was red and spicy which was a pleasant surprise because I have been typically served a dark brownish non spicy version of bean paste. The bean paste made the meal, simply fantastic. I'd say this place is passable if you are in need of Korean but I did find the service a bit suspect with the male owner(?) having to cover for my waitress and since he barely speaks English that made it hard for him. She only had 2 tables so I didn't find that acceptable. I do plan to go back and have more traditional meals and see if I can give them some more stars.

Tofu Village has a modern feel to it, while maintaining very friendly and welcoming service. The bulgogi was marinated to perfection, the shrimp I was a bit less impressed with. I was a bit disappointed that there were so few side dishes, none of the soft tasty potatoes I have come to love elsewhere. That said, I absolutely loved dinner here and would totally come back. Of course you'll come out smelling all barbecue-y, but hey, it's SO worth it! Give this place a try, it's delish.

lunch was great and the people are great...lots of fresh veg etc....make sure you get an order of their fried tofu....even if you dont like it,,,you will like this....Did BBQ dinner there last night and it was all good, but felt it a bit pricey for the quantity served....

I am Korean and I live near this restaurant. I have found that the food is fresh and fast. the service is always very friendly. If you want good Korean food and you don't want to drive all the way to Buford Hwy this is definitely the place for you!

If you would like gourmet & authentic Korean food, this is the place for your tasteful dinner. Friendly service and home-made style yummy Korean dishes are key factors that make me multiple visits. If you would like to experience Korean style Pub, you should try Soju (Korean rice distilled liquor), Sam Gyup Sal (Pork Belly BBQ), and the extra side dishes that come together. Also, you will love the fresh cooked rice (oh yeah, it is available on real time).

I really have nothing but great things to say about Tofu Village! A group of five of us went a few days after Christmas. It was later int he evening but they still welcomed us in. It smelled and looked very clean which I was worried about before I even got there. The staff was wonderful very nice and helpful. All of us ate for $100 and left more then stuffed. I would recommend this place to anyone who has a craving for Korean BBQ! Oh and the outside area is very cute! I can't wait for it to warm up so I can sit out there.

Love this place! Easy to find once you know where it is, (although that's a Southern thing!), and nice wait staff. They provided guidance on the menu and answered our questions, you just have to be patient as they aren't terribly proficient with English. The side dishes were really good and they refilled them too which is always a great surprise. Our entrees were yummy! The restaurant is pretty and the sidewalk tables must be pretty nice if the weather is good.

I came to this place after a recommendation from my friend, Jessica D.; and, her review was also on here. It was my first time visited a Korean restaurant in the northwest, where korean population isn't as well-known as Gwinnett county on Pleasant Hill in the northeast of Atlanta., and I was pretty eager to try out this place. I have visited many Korean BBQ restaurants, and this restaurant definitely meets both Korean BBQ standards and the right price. You will see that a lot of in Korean restaurants: serving good food but failing customers on the price. My friends and I were seated at the BBQ table since we decided to try out the hot BBQ. One of my big and big surprise is that they use charcoal for BBQ while almost all Korean BBQ places, I ever visited, used gas. I was afraid that my American friends would not get full, but the portion were alright. I order prime beef steak, beef bulgogi, and chicken bulgori which was billed for around $60 total for three. Meat was in good quality, Fresh lecture and good extra mini-dishes (kimchi, sprout, cucumber, sliced pancake, etc). One thing to note in the menu, they do carry Korean's popular lunch combination, in which you have a tofu soup and beef bbq portion, for $11.99, and I will definitely try that one day at lunch.

This place is great! Friendly staff, service has been great the two times I have eaten there. Try the kai bi tang (short rib soup). Large soup bowl filled with yummy broth and a generous helping of short ribs and noodles.

The bbq was good but the bean soup that came with the soup was a bit salty for my taste. The service was very friendly and accommodating. Didn't get as much side dishes compared to other Korean bbq places around atlanta. Their prices were about avg for Korean bbq around atl.

  • Morgan M.

I loved, loved, loved this place. The food is excellent, we did the bbq. The service is some of the best I've had in Atlanta. Don't let the location keep you away! You must try this place!

This is one of those places me and my family have been going to for years because the quality is always consistent. My family always gets bulgogi, squid, and fatty pork. It's always good. I like their bibimbap, and their selection of banchan (those little appetizers you get) is pretty good. It's easy because we don't need to trek too far to get a pretty good Korean meal- and it seems like that sentiment is reflected a lot in their Yelp reviews. location, location, location. My one gripe is that the service can be weird at times. Sometimes you will literally NOT be left alone by the waiter and he will hover and talk and talk, sometimes you can't get your water refilled. I also hate how i have to ask for gochujang, when i feel like that's something that places typically have on hand.

    (4)
  • Andrea P.

Well, I am sad to say it, but Tofu Village was no where near as good as the last time I came for dinner. I'm not sure if there was a change in management, but the general quality of the service and food has gone down. I literally didn't even get a water refill... The meat was chewy and I was not impressed with the offered banchan, which now that I think about, was not refilled either. If you are searching for delicious Korean food I would suggest Ilmee over Tofu village.

If this was my first Korean bbq experience I would say it was good, but after being exposed to so many in Dallas, this particular one did not match up to what I am used to. You are charged $17-$28 for a plate of meat (chicken, pork, steak, short rib, etc.). Beef tongue $21.99 (sliced a lot thicker than usual, but still my fav.) Prime rib $35.99. You can also get squid and duck. For those prices you can eat unlimited per person in Dallas. Our sides (unlimited) included broccoli, bean sprouts, kimchi, seaweed?, fishcake, and pickled cucumber in red sauce. We didn't get the potato (and I'm sure your sides are limited to what is available that day). The vent above our table was so weak so we breathed in a lot of smoke (it even got to the point of blinding us temporarily). They need a better ventilation system. Anyway, food was good (as I prefer my meats non-marinated--usually they are sweet if they are). Service was difficult due to the language barrier, but it was good. We're use to cooking our own meats, but I guess here they cook it, flip it, and cut it for you. Can't complain about that I guess. Love the decor here though, especially the outdoor seating area.

When you walk in you have a choice of a regular or bbq table, wanting to show my grandma how good Korean bbq is. At previous Korean restaurants, the way it worked was you ordered small plates of small slices of a meat, so you got to eat a variety of meats that you cooked yourself in front of . Here the meat is ordered in large plates that when brought to the table and the entire plate is dumped on the grill. Overall I give it 4 stars, although we were treated like americans that dont know what to do and I wish we were allowed to cook the meat ourselves, the food was good.

There is something about a good Korean tofu house that I absolutely love. Since this location is not Duluth or Buford highway, you would not expect it to be any good. But it so was! I love the flavor profile of Korean food in general and it didn't disappoint. We both ordered the tofu soups and when they came out of the kitchen hot and bubbly, I was so happy. The assortment of condiments was delicious and the kimchi was light and savory. It had a really nice outdoor seating area. I will certainly dine there during warmer weather. The inside had a nice assortment of Asian fixtures and big tv's that play authentic Korean television. The price really was not bad and the best part is the lunch menu. I will certainly come back to try the Korean BBQ. It even has some select seats with grills in the center where you can cook your items yourself. A very good find.

The first time I came here I thought it was ok. Nothing that really stood out. I was a little disappointed that there was no kids menu, so we had to just order off the regular menu. The portions were average. On my most recent visit, I was very disappointed. First off, they didn't offer the hot tea/water that most Korean restaurants offer. The food was less than spectacular on this day, and the service was sub par. We had a difficult time getting our waiter's attention multiple times. But worst of all, the waiter limited our small side dishes to one single refill...really?! That's the first time I have EVER heard of such a thing at a Korean restaurant, and I have been to many. Not once has this happened to me in the past, and not only that, most times they bring back a larger portion of the side dish knowing that their customer likes it. I've always thought that they bring out just a little bit at first so you can try it, and if you like it they'll bring back more. Well, after this disappointment, I'll be finding a different Korean restaurant to dine at in the future.

This has been on my list of places to try for awhile. My wife has never had korean food, so I thought it'd be a great experience for her. The service was mediocre, but nothing out of the ordinary. I ordered the soon tofu soup, and had asked for a recommendation between the beef, seafood, mushrooms versions. Our waitress replied with whatever you like more, which is a very non-committal answer. I was hoping for a more definitive recommendation, but it doesn't always happen. I ended up going with the seafood version. In comparison to other seafood soon tofu soups, I was surprised that the mussels were already taken out of their shells for me, in comparison to the shrimp being full head and shell still. The squid was very small in quantity, but otherwise fine. I recommended that my wife get the sstone pot bibimbap as a safe choice, and she really enjoyed it. I did not end up sampling her dish, but it looked very appropriate for bibimbap. I have gone to a few korean restaurants previously, where they usually ask if the person ordering it has had it before. If not, it was really nice if the server helped with educating the person on how to eat the dish. Food was good, but was nothing spectacular. I hear the place is better more for the table service barbeque, so maybe we'll come back to try that sometime. Otherwise, I know of other Korean restaurants in the Atlanta area I would go to instead.

We were searching for Korean restaurants closer to Canton than the ones we already know in Duluth when we found this place on Yelp. We figured it was worth a Sunday lunch try, and we're glad we found it! My wife loves cham pong, but the beef Cham pong here was more like yuk ke jang broth (forgive my white-boy spellings, please!). Since we both like yuk ke jang, we figure we may try that here next time, but if you're expecting the deep, intense flavor of cham pong you won't get it with this dish. I ordered the Kalbi jim, and it was definitely a good order! There were two large beef rib bones in the pot with all the meat, which is an added bonus because that means one bone per dog (although the waitress looked at me strangely when I asked for a box for bones!). The pan chan were all fresh, which was good. I think we had three of the potato dish altogether, but the waitress never complained about our obsession with just the potatoes. The service was really good. I'm used to efficient service at Korean restaurants, but I'm not as used to incredibly friendly service, which put this restaurant up to five stars in my book. The decor is a bit odd, but overall it's a good place to go, especially if you don't want to drive all the way to Duluth!

As others have mentioned, if you're the Kennesaw/Marietta area and crave Korean, no need to go to Buford Highway or Unpleasant Hill Rd. Tofu Village is the real deal. Everything I've had here is quite good, the latest being the bulgoki. Panchan items all tasty - several with a nice picante kick.

Highly recommend! The service was friendly and prompt. We didn't take advantage of the Korean BBQ but the table next to us did and it look and smelled delicious! We ordered their home made tofu amongst other popular items and we were not disappointed! We will definitely be coming back to this local joint.

There are only a couple of Korean places in cobb county. Decided to try it out and ordered galbi, pork belly and kimchi stew. The stew was disappointing, the kimchi was not aged and had an off taste. The galbi was good but the pork belly was frozen, so didn't taste as fresh. I know this can't compared to al the other korean restaurants in duluth but the food was really disappointing. Not only that, the services was uncomfortable. The serving lady kept hovering and interrupting our conversation. I like servers to be attentive, but she was a bit much. She had to explain everything and want to teach us how to eat Korean BBQ. Overall really disappointed.

The korean side dishes are always delicious but it's always the same. The owner is very nice. Some of the server staffs hardly ever smiles and seems a little rude. I always get the mushroom tofu soup and it is consistently good. I give it a four stars because it's the only korean place around marietta. If I have to compare it to others in duluth I would give it a three stars.

Stopped in for lunch on a Tuesday at 1:00. The place was a little dead, but since everyone there was Asian except one customer we decided to try it out. They did have a high chair, but no kid's menu. The Galbi was fair - a little overcooked for my taste. The Galbi Jim was a-okay. The restaurant was very clean and our server was quiet but pleasant. I'll definitely return - especially if I don't want to make the drive to Buford Highway or Duluth.

The people who work here are sooo sweet! The food is pretty good too. I don't know what authentic korean food is suppose to taste like but I definitely enjoyed their food. Always a treat to find good asian restaurants in Cobb county. Next time I'll have to try their karaoke!

My husband and I have been coming here for about a year. The food is always excellent and the service was too, until ownership changed recently. We dined here on 1/18. We were seated at a barbeque table all the way in the back corner. everything was fine until about halfway through our meal. We were completely ignored by our server for the remainder of our meal. She never came back to check up on us, we needed more water, the coals on the grill needed to be removed, because our meats were getting way overcooked. Very dissapointed. And it all started when we walked in the door to be seated and we were put off by the hostess, because she was in the middle of writing something down. I hope service changes, or they will lose business.

Great food and portion controlled but a bit on the pricey side. Well what can you say if it's the only Korean BBQ in Marietta since Duluth is too far of a drive. I'd come back for sure. Mmmm the kalbi is definitely a must-have!

I love this place!! It's my home away from home food. The bulgogi is very tender & flavorful. My favorite is the tofu soon with mushrooms. The wait staff are always very sweet & courteous. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I LOVE this place!!! Fantastic food, fantastic prices, fantastic service. They are so friendly and fast, it makes the phenomenal food that much more enjoyable. If you've never had Korean food, you need to come explore. If you are experienced, you will find the best Pork Bulgolgi in Atlanta - IMHO. The short ribs are too yummy. The Banchan are very tasty and varied. Get to this place ASAP, particularly for lunch and prepare to be impressed.

What a gem tucked away at remote location. I have never went anywhere else than Duluth and Doraville for korean food then found this place while traveling for business. In terms of their side dishes, it is not the best. They are very limited in selection and even portions. However, their beef (kalbi) tastes pretty good. What makes it better is that they use live charcoal (wood) instead of the gas. It really brings out the flavor of the meat as well as the wood fire taste. I would like to go back and try their other dishes for future reference.

Excellent Service Excellent Food Had a great time I love this Korean restaurant. What's so great is that the food is cooked over real charcoal rather than an electric burner. It has a more grilled flavor to the food. The seasoning is great and the side dishes are also very good. We also enjoyed the Seafood pancake as well as the Spicy tofu soup. We ordered the Bulgogi and short ribs to be grilled. Will definitely come back!

The tofu here is good, very tender and melt-in-your-mouth yummy. Everything else, including the galbi and banchan was good as well. The service and decor was good too. Perfect for lunch or large gatherings with friends and family. It's probably the best Korean restaurant in this county.

I've ordered takeout here once, so I can't say much for the dining-in experience. What I ordered: "Special Combo" which was bulgogi and mushroom tofu soup (requested spicy). This came with rice and an assortment of banchan: fresh kimchi, cucumber kinchi, a julienned zucchini side dish that was seasoned with sesame oil, and a fish cake side dish. Mind you, these are all banchan-sized portions, but it came free with the entrees, which I thought was a great deal. Food was ready to be picked up in 20 minutes, which was very convenient. However, the bulgogi meat was withered and low-quality, not the sliced rib-eye that can be found elsewhere. The portion for the meat was also smaller than expected, but for the price, it was a good deal considering all the banchan that came with. The mushroom tofu soup was spicy enough for my liking, but I kind of wish I'd ordered the seafood tofu soup for more flavor. Overall, a decent place for Korean food without the drive out to Duluth and great banchan offering, but nothing too special.

This is, hands down, my favorite Korean BBQ restaurant. The galbi (kalbi) is top-notch, you can't find a better kimchi pancake, and the service is both fast and super-friendly. If I had time, I'd go on and on, but I'm in a bit of a rush. . .

I have had from the west coast now to the east coast and this is good stuff... Try the Kalbi.

I've been coming here for 4 years. The name was deceiving to me as I'm not a fan of tofu. One visit was all it took to realize tofu is not a major part of the menu. I've tried near ever dish nard have enjoyed them all. Break out of the norm and explore this awesome cuisine.

I'm glad to find a Korean restaurant away from the Duluth area, and I really like the traditional flavors that Tofu Village brings to the table. It tastes authentic and priced fairly (for Korean restaurant standards). The service is always on top of it and really warm, not to mention its a large and comfortable place to sit for a meal. My family has since been going for the Korean comfort favorites, though we have yet to try the Korean BBQ. Pretty solid haemulpajun, kalbi/bulgogi plates, kalbitang, soondubu, and bibimbap. I was a tad disappointed in the kimchi jigae, which had less in it than I expected for the price. Our family decided to try their samgyetang, one of their call-in-advance specials, and we were disappointed in its lack of flavor for something that was supposedly 2 + hr prepped. Otherwise, the food is great.

Great food. Great time. Full variety of Korean BBQ offerings. Waiter was insistent on working the grill. Actually took the tongs from my hand. The fun of a place like this is grilling at your table. And particularly getting the meats cooked the way you want. He should've backed off a touch and allowed the customer experience to include the grilling. Also, a little pricey.

Very solid restaurant. Have been here countless tunes but never wrote a review. Ja jung mein is really excellent. BBQ is above average and bunjung is. Good if not spectacular. As it's pretty much right of 75, it's a convenient location to get dependably quality korean food. Recommended

I've had a hard time finding Korean food I'm satisfied with in the Atlanta area. Going up to Buford Highway or Duluth with any regularity is a chore and not economical, and being a south-sider, my only option was the H-Mart in Riverdale, which was fine until they hijacked my credit card number and I don't want to go back there anymore. Tofu Village is the first Korean joint I've been satisfied with, in literally years. Marietta's a little bit more reasonable for me since I'm often up there anyway, and for a while I've seen their billboards on I-75 which prompted me to try them out. I was very pleased with the results. They're pretty much right off of I-75, and as long as you get off on the right exit, they're barely a half-mile off of the highway. There's lots of parking, and a pretty welcoming entrance, complete with the stereotypical "old world-feudal Korea" outdoor wooden seating that reminds me of the stuff my grandma used to watch for hours on end. The interior is clean and spacious, and could easily be a place to hold large numbers or parties. The staff is all super polite, friendly, and competent in English, and very attentive to the needs and requests of my friends and I throughout our entire visit. I ordered my favorite Korean dish, soon-dooboo (spicy tofu stew), which was served scalding hot in an earthen bowl, chock full of various meats, egg, and of course, tofu, while my friends went nuts on the table-top BBQ, ordering kalbi (short beef ribs). The stew could have been spicier to match my threshold and preference, but obviously not everyone would agree with me, and the meat was seasoned well and tender enough for my satisfaction. The banchan was a little on the scant side, and they didn't really offer up any replenishment despite us wiping them out as soon as they arrived, but it was good quality, with a variety of beans, beansprouts and cabbage and cucumber kimchis. Overall, the food left me satisfied and pleased. The stew is perfect comfort food for me, and I was happy with the overall execution of everything meat-wise. My friends seemed happy, and I was pleased to see actual Koreans coming and going throughout the dinner hours. The prices are something that my cheap Asian parents would balk at, and I'm not going to sugar coat the fact that there are cheaper Korean options around the city. But between my friends and I, it's nothing we wouldn't have paid anywhere else for dinner. Conclusion: easy location, lots of free parking, spacious restaurant, friendly and helpful staff. Prices are slightly high, but the quality of the Korean food is very good. I wouldn't have minded if they were a bit more generous with the sides, but then again, I didn't leave feeling like I was going to explode, so it's not the worst thing that could have happened. Would gladly come back again, and would like to try their karaoke next time.

We are a couple that doesn't eat a lot & wanted to order an appetizer, stew & one BBQ item- just a variety. When we sat at the BBQ table and placed our order, we were rudely informed that we HAD to order 2 BbQ items in order to sit at that table. We didn't, so we were promptly moved to a regular table where couldn't cook at the table and the BBQ was brought out pre cooked. Turns out pre cooked BBQ chicken at the regular table was $18.99 compared to $12.99 at the BBQ table. We ended up paying $50 for kimchi pancakes, a regular bowl of stew and a very small portion of chicken which we didn't even get to cook because we didn't order two items!!!! & this is NOT a fine dining place! Didn't think the food was worth the price and definitely not the service. Won't be going back.

First, I'm half Korean. My mother is Korean. I have eaten Korean all of my life. I went for dinner about two weeks ago. This would have been the 5th time I've eaten here. I ordered kimchi jigae, which is my fave Korean dish. I've made this many times, and my mom made it, too. When the waitress asked me how it was, I responded, "The flavor is good, but the kimchi is too crisp/new." She proceeded to argue with me by saying, "Oh this is old kimchi." I again told her that the flavor was good and then said, "The kimchi is not sour enough/ready for the kimchi jigae." I told her I was 1/2 Korean and that my mom is Korean. That I'd made kimchi jigae and that my mom had made it many times. She continued arguing with me, "This old kimchi, that one is new one (pointing to the kimchi in the small bowl)." I then said to her, The old one isn't old enough. I don't know why you're arguing with me." (I was kind and never rude, by the way.) She again said, "This is old one, that is new one." I finally told her, "I'm not going to argue with you." Finally, it's important to note that I told her, "I've had this here before, and it was delicious/perfect." Her response, "Oh." She then walked away. A few minutes later I spoke with another waiter to try to communicate what I had said to the waitress. I believe he was in high school; he understood what I was saying. I think most of the problem was that she didn't speak English well. I have no idea if he communicated to the staff what I had said. The first time my husband and I went there, he ordered bulgogi and specifically asked for no onions. There were onions in his bulgogi. She took it away, then returned the same plate, after removing the onions. (no bueno!!) Also, in all my years my Korean mom never made bulgogi cut up into slivered pieces. (I am not saying Koreans don't do this; my mom never did, though.) So we mentioned to the waitress that there were still onions in the bulgogi and that we didn't want it cut up like that. A restaurant seeking to increase its business would apologize and do whatever it takes to please the customer. (Also, the cut of meat was not great.) My mom always used short ribs and sliced the meat thinly, away from the bone. Of course, we also prepared the meat with the bone for galbi. This is how I prepare bulgogi, as well. So that's why I was puzzled as to it being cut up in slivered pieces. I have had some great experiences here and not so great ones. Mostly good ones, though. The bad ones have been mostly with regard to customer service. I think much of it has to do with the language barrier. You'd have ALOT MORE CUSTOMERS if you put more priority in to this area!! I used to speak Korean until I was five. I no longer can speak Korean, conversationally. I'm 52 now and living in the United States. :) There should be at least one person on staff who speaks English well. Here are some recommendations I have for the Korean community. Your goal is to please the customer. We really aren't difficult people--for the most part--we just want good food, prepared well. And when it's not good, don't argue with the customer. Offer another option or apologize. It's okay if you make a mistake, just own up to it.

Bbq kalbi was tasty but coupled with bad services it was not that satisfactory. The serving lady was not very attentive.

We always choose the BBQ option when we go here. The BBQ are the only meals we have tried. I get the chicken, but I've tried the other meats. The sides are wonderful if you like pickled veggies. They have these rice things that are flat and square, kind of like a square flat rice noodle, don't know what they are called, but it's good to use them to wrap the meat, garlic, and veggies in. This is one of my favorite places to go.

Been here six times since last review and still love it. If you can do the 2 hr's call ahead and get the SamTang (Ginsing Young Chick with garlic and spring onions), if youeven think you have a cold this fixes all. From Bulgolgi to noodles this place is warm, inviting and the family that runs this placce really cares about their customers every time for all reasons. They were more patient with three bratty kids than the parents were and I would have given them a combat badge for what they did to make the kids quiet in turns just to make all the other customers happy, they go that far! Fully recommend it just wish I had more time between work and other things to go back as many times as I would like.

At first glance, Tofu Village is a restaurant that belongs on Buford Highway or up in Duluth, where all the other good Korean restaurants are. What the heck is it doing out in Marietta? Well maybe the owners are trying to take over the market for Korean food in Cobb county. I don't know of any other authentic Korean eateries on this side of town. One of my coworkers' husbands first discovered this place a couple years ago and since then, we've hopped on I-75 and headed north for Tofu Village for lunch when we get the occasional Korean BBQ hankering. The restaurant is relatively new and clean. There's nice wooden furniture outdoors, but I'm not sure how much use, if any, they get. Inside, the place is quite spacious and welcoming. Very typical of a Korean restaurant, some of the tables are equipped with grills and vents for you to do your own barbecuing and each of the tables are separated by wooden dividers. They have one widescreen TV in the center of the restaurant playing Korean variety shows, which are always fun to watch. Lunch menu items range anywhere from $8-9 and feature standard Korean fare including bulgogi (marinated beef, chicken, or pork), galbi (short ribs), bibimbap (mixed rice with egg), jjigae (stew), and sundubu (tofu soup). My coworkers and I always order bulgogi and galbi and share it. The restaurant makes it for us, as opposed to us cooking it ourselves at the table, but I always prefer that anyway. The lunch portion sizes are reasonable and I find their BBQ meats to be decent quality. I've also tried the bibimbap. Not bad and you'll be hard-pressed to find a similar dish in Marietta. They also have appetizers like kimchi pancakes, which are also okay. I'd like to try some of their stew or noodle dishes sometime. The servers are very attentive and polite. I've only been for lunch on the weekdays and the place is always mostly empty. Perhaps most of their business comes at night. In the end, Tofu Village is not a bad place, if not the only place, to get authentic Korean food in Marietta. #Yelp365 - 42/365

So I've been craving Korean food and decided to go to Tofu Village. The restaurant is nice and cozy. I love watching and listening to the Kpop music videos that were playing. I think if I'm in a Korean restaurant, I should listen to Korean music, not Billboard 40. The staff was very friendly and outgoing. I was being brave and decided to get a dish that I've never gotten before - Bi Bim Bob spicy pork. My coworker gotten the Jae Yuk Bok Um. The waiter came back with a small salad. My coworker thought that we weren't going to get any banchan but I was sure we would. Yes, we got some banchan - 6 side dishes, 7 if you want to include that salad from the beginning. Perfect measurement for two people. When we finally got our meals. I had this scrambled, not fully cooked egg, I was just told to stir it in, and my bowl wasn't even hot or a soup. I thought that was weird. My coworker got the same thing but hers is a hot bowl. She says her meal tasted like all the others she had. This was my first time trying Bi Bim Bob and it's not my fave. It's definitely plentiful, I was really full and couldn't finish but it wasn't my fave dish either. I would go back and try again cause of the great atmosphere and people.

Only my second time having Korean BBQ. Delicious! As others mentioned, it appears very authentic, with most things first written in Korean. Staff was very friendly and patient with our newbie-ness.

Great tasting authentic Korean food with a friendly atmosphere. The owner was making jokes left and right. The tofu was spot on. If you are in the area, definitely try this place and get a stew.

The service was terrific but the BBQ was a little disappointing. For the price, $18.99 per plate, I feel like we could have gotten a little more food. The sides were nothing special - alfalfa sprouts, kimchee, pickled cucumbers of some sort and cabbage. We had ordered the marinated sliced beef and pork. Both were spicy but was a little too sweet for my tastes. Both dipping sauces were also a little boring - both were also way too sweet. I did really like the rice paper that came with the BBQ though! All in all, it was just okay; didn't quite hit the spot. But again, amazing service and we were definitely very well taken care of! Even though its a little further for me, I would rather drive out to Iron Age in Duluth in the future for Korean BBQ! The price is better (all you can eat for $15.99), the meat is not overly marinated and the sauces are pretty darn tasty!

Since moving back to Atlanta and living in town I've been geeky for some Korean BBQ. My sales territory is west and north of Atlanta and I really never get to Buford Highway. Today, while calling on a customer, I discovered a sign on a strip mall..........Korean BBQ. without much hope I thought I'd give it a try. To my delight the menu was fabulous. Now could the food stand up to the pretty pictures. I order the Lunch Kal Bi and was pleasantly surprised. The banchan was excellent and included Kim Chi,,,,very good but tame, spicy cucumbers, beans, steamed potato and marinated sprouts all of which were very good. My neighbor had BiBim Map and it looked great and when asked he was "very happy". All in all it's nice to have a Korean BBQ place closer to home and I can't wait to take friends and explore the rest of the menu and cook at the table.

We ordered from the BBQ menu. The meat was very tasty and the place looked clean, but over priced for what you get. I agreed with what some of the preview reviews said about the older Asian lady hovering over the table and telling us how I eat the food, but when I actually needed something I couldn't find her. She also made me feel uncomfortable asking for more sides. Would I ever go back? Maybe.... If I'm really craving Korean bbq and could not make it up to Duluth area.

ok, I was impressed with the food, but service was lacking. so overall, im an a-ok fan! 4 of us went there for lunch and ordered the bbq lunch portion (galbi, bulgogi, and spicy pork) as well as an order of the seafood pancake. the meat was cooked well and flavor was spot on. and for the price, the portions were quite satisfactory. the pancake had good flavor but was a little too mushy in the middle. so my BEEF is really with the waitresses. there was quite a number of people in the restaurant for lunch. and since none of us spoke korean, it was sorta shitty. I had asked for banchan, multiple times, but she didnt bring it until our bbq came. sooooooo, maybe she only wants us to eat the banchan with bbq/rice....but geeeez, i asked for it!!! and it was quite slow for our food to come out....seemed like 2 waitresses were waiting on the entire restaurant. so i'll def give this place a try....but angerrrrrrrrr oh, the decor inside is quite cute. but this plaza is so random, i didnt believe my coworker when he said that there were ASIANS out there....low and behold, there was Tofu Village AND and karaoke next door! haha

After a couple of visits to not so great (and even bad) Korean BBQs since moving to Georgia had me believing that one of my favorite comfort foods was off the market for me. Then I tried this place. The moment my husband and I walked in with our two kids in tow we were greeted with big smiles which is always nice (especially if you walk in with kids. Nothing worst than seeing fear on a hostess or waiter's face when they see kids. You haven't met mine yet, don't judge). Everyone that was very nice. We ordered a couple BBQ items and some stew. Everything was pretty. The only reason I did not give this place a 5 star is that the flavors were a little dumbed down (I'm used to more complex flavors). All in all very happy and I will be back. With my kids.
