This is your average, run of the mill Mexican restaurant. The food isn't bad, but the service can be slow. I've been here a number of times and it always seems pretty busy.

Ive been coming here for yrs and today was the worst ever had to wait to be seated ( I counted 9 tables open). Ordered a beer waited 10 mins for it to come.. My partner got his jumbo margarita in 2 min flat and out appetizer came out along with his drink all along I still did not get my beer Then asked another server ( who turned out to be the hosted) did not have a clue on how to bring out a couple of appetizer plates So while I'm STLL waiting for my beer my cheese dip goes cold then when I asked for a freshly made one... She bring a stoned cold bowl out Needles to say this will be the last time I eat here 3 amigos is 10 times better and 3 Amigos WANTS my business.

This place has a very warm atmosphere. The wait staff are very nice and polite. The food is very savory and smells delicious.

I'm a little bit picky when it comes to Mexican food...so I honestly avoid Mexican food at all costs in Atlanta because it's just bad all around (Please message me if you have any suggestions for good Mexican food in Atlanta). However, we found ourselves waiting forever for a restaurant on Marietta Square so we came here instead. Good thing about this place is that parking is free and pretty plentiful. I ordered a veggie quesadilla and it just wasn't all that great. Our food honestly came out too quick for comfort - making me question if they have everything pre-cooked already. My husband got sick the day after we ate here from the food. The restaurant is also extremely noisy and they really push margaritas on you (even though they are not as "huge" as they describe them to be). Overall, we won't be coming back.

Last Sunday I visited the La Parilla at Dallas Hwy and everything was wonderful. I have had many trips to the Alpharetta location and they are usually mediocre at best. Tonight my expectations were exceeded. I was greeted immediately by a friendly hostess and took a seat at the bar. Shorty after a fresh basket of delicious complimentary chips and salsa were brought. Joel the bartender was extremely friendly and made a delicious skinny margarita. The manager Juan was so warm and approachable. He stopped by and asked if I needed anything and made sure I was enjoying myself. A manager has never stopped by on my previous visits at the other location and it was a nice touch. My salad (primavera) was delicious and fresh and came out pretty quickly. Overall it was a very successful experience and I can't wait to come back!

I ate at La Parrilla on Saturday for dinner (Dallas Hwy location) and it was absolutely wonderful! Our server was Jenny, the service was excellent and the food was so fresh! The manager, Juan, made a stop by our table to make sure we were enjoying everything and to see if there is anything he could do for us. He was very nice and welcoming, it was very thoughtful! The food, service, and atmosphere were excellent! I will definitely be back!!

La Parilla has several locations and I think I some point in my life I've been dragged to every - single - one - of them. That said - I pretty much hate everything on the menu except the fish tacos. Those friggin fish tacos. Not the regular ones. The ones with the fried tilapia, mexican coleslaw and peppers. Yum. I always seem to get a bad server - one that can't speak English, or one that can speak English but is either mad at her boyfriend or mad that she has to work this weekend, or - and this one's my favorite - one that seems like he's still in high-school - with bad skin and afro or emo haircut and clunky, funky glasses - and you just know he's cracking up the kitchen staff, doing "funny" and obscene things with my tacos before he brings 'em out. And the parking at this location is horrible. They are in a strip mall with Publix and several other places. On one occasion, the amount debited from my checking account was not the same as the amount I signed for.* As soon as I discovered this, I called and spoke to a manager and he took care of it in a timely fashion. Any way - I encourage patrons to use cash. * see my review for the La Parilla's S Marietta Pkwy location for more on this.

Never again! Wife and I have gone there for the final time. Martha was our server. 2 tables get their food before ours and 1 was a 7 top?!? And yes the 7 top got there 15 mins after we had sat down! As soon as the 7 top was served I was ready to jet. If they hadn't have blocked my wife in to serve the other table their food we would have just gotten up and left. Our food was out right behind the 7 top and the waitress came over to see what was the problem. We spoke up about getting a discount for having to wait for over 30 mins and seeing two tables eat their food before we had even gotten anything. Martha said " well I'll check with my manager to see if she wants to do anything". After handing me the check I look at her and ask why is there not a discount on the check? She states with a smug little smile " she apparently didn't want to discount it" and walks away.... The manager never made an appearance to our table to see what the problem was or anything. That's ok young lady, keep smiling and enjoy tip I left you. Nothing! I promise you will never see us again. If you like going and getting taken advantage of with high prices be my guest. I'll keep going back to the other Mexican restaurant down the street called 3 Amigos!

Good solid Tex-mex. They do the "make the guacamole fresh at table-side" thing now, and it's excellent. I've eaten lots of Mexican all over Texas and Georgia, and this is one of the better places in the Marietta area.

My favorite Mexican restaurant Ive ever been to, and I've tried many in many states. These guys are fast, friendly and efficient. The food is just great. Their beef taco is a constant craving of mine. I love their enchiladas too. My mother in law really likes their flautas, and by how many people are ordering fajitas, they must be good as well. Their chips and salsa is very good as well as their queso dip. Really love this place.

I hate to write this review because I have been eating at La Parilla for years and years and up until a year ago, I would have rated them a 5++++++...their food was authentic, spicy, and as close to "real" Mexican you could get this side of the Mississippi. But like so many Mexican, and Chinese restaurants, they have Americanized themselves into mediocrity. It is such a shame...their spinach and potato enchiladas, carne asada, and chili rellenos used to be amazing. However, this review is based on my last three visits to two locations...and I am being generous, for old times sake, giving them a four...they really only deserved a 3 for food. I have been to four or five different locations and they all had health dept ratings of 95 or above...year after year...impressive. I love clean restaurants!! It is standard Mexican restaurant decor and is pretty loud in some of the locations...Probably not the best date place...but the cleanliness, wait staff, and food is consistently good. Most of the food is pretty basic, generic Mexican chain food (used to be way, way, way above basic, as noted above, it is pretty bland now); however, the carne asada is still absolutely amazing...I dont know what they marinate it in, but it is always flavorful and fork tender. Their margaritas have almost doubled in price, as has their sangria (made in house and used to be $2...now you get less and it is around $5). All prices have gone up considerably and since you no longer get the spicy, more authentic Mexican food...I dont believe it is as good as it used to be. However, that being said, it is still better than the other chains out there so I give it a four star as a chain Mexican restaurant.

We come here every week for lunch. So far, I've not found something on the menu that I don't like. I especially like the Burrito La Parrilla. The servers are very nice and the food almost always comes out quicker than expected. I'm not sure how authentic the Mexican food is but I'd say this is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants.

Don't go here if you love real authentic Mexican food. The only thing authentic in this place is the help. With that out of my system. The place does a great job of offering very affordable and good Americanized Mexican food. They always have great lunch specials with plenty of dinner "buy one get one" coupons in the paper. Along with daily drink specials as well. The service is always fantastic and the drinks are always cold. The menu is large and they seem to do a great job on all of it. But once again, nothing authentic about the food. Pros: Service, low prices and all around clean and nice restaurant. Great place for a fast lunch. Cons: Need to wall off the bar area (Sucks getting your buzz on with five tables of screaming kids right behind you). Need to offer a few true authentic items on the menu. I would love to find a Mexican restaurant outside of SoCal that isn't afraid to serve authentic food to the locals. If you love sour cream, cheese, lettuce, flour shells and have no idea what cilantro, chopped onions with grilled tongue on a corn shell is, then this place is for you!

La Parilla is always packed because this place serves the most delicious and inexpensive dishes of Mexican cuisine. I really enjoy their shredded chicken quesadillas and queso. There is always a wait but once you're seated, the food comes out hot and quickly. Shout out to the bartender for making one of the best margaritas I've ever had! They know their margaritas!

Last night was my second trip to this La Parrilla, and I was quite pleased with the overall experience. I came in with a coworker for an early dinner after work. We were seated upon arrival just after 5pm; chips and salsa came out almost before we could sit down! Our server was the lovely Lupita, who recommended the Shamrock Margarita (it was St. Patrick's Day). We ordered queso in addition to our chips and salsa, and it was delicious. From a food perspective, both times I've come, I've selected the chiles rellenos as my entrée. What I love about La Parrilla is that you can choose what ingredients go in there, so I opted for just cheese. They also note that their Mexican rice isn't vegetarian friendly, so I asked for double beans. We chatted for a while, enjoying our dinner, and when we were wrapping up, Lupita stopped by to ask how everything went. I was surprised to hear that it was her first day, and thought she did a wonderful job. If you're in the area and looking for some great Mexican food, this is a great option!

This place has the best Mexican food and cheese dip. The only thing I dislike is that there is always a wait.. But I pass many other Mexican restaurants just to come here.

I really love mexican food and got spoiled in California because there is so much of it around. La Parrilla is the most popular mexican restaurant in our area and for the most part it's pretty good. Not as flavorful and authentic as I'd like, but it serves its purpose when I get taste for it. I've eaten here several times and a few of my favorite things have been the black beans, the mexican chicken soup and the juevos rancheros with a side of chorizo. These dishes used to be really good to me but over the past year or so they have changed a bit and don't taste as good as they used to. Not sure why, but I just don't order them anymore. If you like mexican food, it's a good choice and it's a fun, lively place to eat. They also have a full bar so if the food doesn't meet your expectations, the margaritas will !!!!! Tip: Bring a jacket because it's cold in here!

Fast service, really good food. I recommend the Fish Taco's or Salmon Salad.. Never had a bad meal here. Always run into people I know here, it's a West Cobb staple if you live on this side of town.

You will leave smelling like a taco. The worst ventilation of any of the LPs I have visited. Solid Mexican fare designed for the gringo palate. Far from authentic. Had to laugh at the reviewer below who wanted a discount. They don't do discounts -- no matter how upset you are. These people are business savvy and will fight you over a peso.

One of my favorite spots to eat. I usually get the chimichanga or the fish tacos. Staff is great. The only downside is they are usually packed but that comes when a restaurant is doing things right.

Perfect for the unimaginative suburbanites. The food was fair, nothing to write home about. They did make a good Margarona (we sub'd in Sol). The prices are a bit high, but I guess it doesn't matter to all the families that converge here - lots of em. Plus the menu has burgers and fries and chicken fingers to accomidate that type of crowd. I know that I will be there someday, but not really feeling it.

I like this La Parilla a lot, I've never been to their other locations. The food is good and everyone is really friendly and helpful. However, when I recently went there were about 5 hostesses at the stand. When I walked up they continued to talk and laugh amongst each other and didn't even acknowledge me. I had to say "excuse me!" Are they freaking serious?! I did not like that. However, they were really sweet when I left and thanked me for coming.

Pretty good food, fair service that's always on the upsell, not so much on the drinks. Tried a "organic margarita". I'm not sure it even used fresh limes. It had no orange liqueur & was not good. Annoyingly overpriced drink. Wait staff did not give the proper price for the drink. The place is absolutely LOUD! Forget it if you want to have a conversation over your meal. The wait is not worth it.

Looking for good tasting Mexican food from a chain? This is it. I have no ill feelings towards the La Parrilla brad, but I have had better. I am more of a guy who likes little holes in the wall when I eat Mexican and you can find these places all over. I will recommend the seafood burrito. I know that every time I order it the staff is all aboard and let me know I made a good decision. This is a box Mexican restaurant in a shopping center. It is what it is.

  • Robin B.

I dont know what happened to La Parilla but it is not the same. Totally different staff and different recipes. My husband was a fan of charro bean soup for years. The recpe has changed and it tastes burnt. Food quality is down. I will not return.

Another local restaurant that has found the elusive combination offering good food, great service, and great value. Its always crowded, but the wait is never too long. The taquitos are my favorite. Wednesday is "beer night" when beer is incredibly priced....go ahead and get the 32oz. For those who say it's not "real" Mexican food or too Americanized, remember that this is Marietta, not Mexico City, so about as good as we get at the price.

Great Mexican. Carne Asada is quality. It was our first time and the manager gave us a free dessert just because. Great service. Will be returning soon.

This is the best Mexican food I've found in the Marietta area. You can't beat their prices and the portions are generous. I almost always get a burrito supreme, but they have just plain tacos for my kids. I really like this place!

  • Erik W.

This La Parilla has great food and their daily specials are often dishes I intended to order anyway. So that helps save me some money and helps La Parilla keep very competitive pricing. I will agree with other reviews on Yelp that the service level at this location is spotty. It can be a bit slow and I have had servers that weren't very attentive. But there has never been an incident that has ruined my meal or made me regret a visit. So, all in all, La Parilla is a great mexican restaurant that I would (and do) recommend to anyone and everyone.

They just remodeled, but its negligible to the total ambiance. This particular La Parrila has decent food but tends to be lound and crowded most times I have been. Food.. yummy, Service can be good or bad depending on the crowd, I have had a 50/50 experience with that. I will continue to go regularly since it is a great location for the group I meet up with their. If you like Mexican its worth the occasional poor service (usually due to crowds), on a side note I am usually with a group of 8-10 which does not help service-wise. All in all, good margaritas, good food, usually decent service ;)

This is your standard Mexican food. Nothing extravagant but the service is always good and quick. The place is always clean and well kept.

Oh how I wish my kids liked Mexican food. I could live here, unfortunately I would be waiting 30 minutes or so everytime, but it's worth the wait. So I must wait for Girls night, Margarita night. What to order: La Parilla Dip, Guacamole Salad, Burrito a La Parilla....very tasty skirt steak. They have an extensive Veggie menu for the veggiesauruses in your group.

Upon walking in the door, my Hubby and I were greeted with a big, warm hello from the greeter. This place is not short on business...was packed from corner to corner. The food was good...I would definitely go back, although it's just your average Mexican restaurant. Great Customer Service + good food= 5 stars in my opinion.

    1) Great place, great fun. 2) Sit at the bar and get treated royally by the lovely and enchanting Elvira. 3) For one of the best bangs for your buck ANYWHERE, try two a la carte Tastaguacs with brisket for just $5.25.

Good food fair pricing and the service is outstanding. We go there all the time. They know how to take care of the customer. Best mexician in cobb county. Get there early on Friday and Saturday because the crowds come out on the weekends.

I LOVE ME SOME CHEESE DIP! LaParrilla Mexican Restaurant has THE BEST cheese dip that I have ever tasted. It's called, surprisingly enough, LaParrilla Dip. It is Mexican cheese dip with steak, chicken and shrimp and is served with flour tortillas. I don't know what they add to it, if it's the "runoff" from the steak, or what, but there is something better about it than just plain old cheese dip. I'm not really a fan of the typical Mexican food - can't eat ANY kind of pepper or spicy foods but the seafood burrito is awesome (I get mine sans salsa & peppers) and my girls love the fajita chicken quesadilla. We eat here about two times a month, either in the restaurant or take out. My two daughters could drink the regular cheese dip so we have to keep a close eye on them when it arrives. It's always packed, even on weeknights. It would be great if they could expand to the next store over. It's a little loud on the weekends when they have live entertainment. I wouldn't mind it, but it IS such a family oriented place that it seems that they'd allow you to converse with your children in a decent tone of voice...I yell at my children enough at home.

The La Parilla dip moved them to 3.5 stars. Steak tacos, salsa and margarita's are good but not great. Not a bad place when I'm in the mood for a quick Mexican fix.

Here's the deal. La Parrilla is a chain Mexican Restaurant. I've been eating there for about six years. I'm going to touch on Tricia B.'s review and say that something has changed. I used to get chicken enchiladas quite frequently until they became so bland that I switched to the Fajita Quesadilla. That was two years ago. Today I had beef tacos and, I can say this with authority, I'm just over it. The chips had some kind of weird after taste but the salsa was nice and spicy. The tacos- the problem with the tacos isn't the taco but the beef. Something's happened to the recipe with the ground beef. I'm over it. I would love to say something more positive, but I just can't. Obviously, if you feel the urge to try it, do so. I've been there when it was great. At this point in time, I would rank this as mediocre to a little less than mediocre. Not gross, just....not. I'm over it....

This is good Mexican food. My 5 stars is based on the three locations I've eaten at, Dallas Highway, Marietta Square, and Howell Mill Road. It's usually worth the drive to Marietta Square (original?) instead of going to the Dallas Highway location. There tend to be way too many kids and the tables too close at this location.

  • Beth M.

We love La Parrilla. Our kids eat well there, and it is a bit noisy, so if they are loud, it is okay. My cousin from NYC was visiting and said it was better than any of the Mexican restaurants in thet city! I have never had a bad meal, or margherita at La Parrilla. It is fun for the kids and they love to leave with a balloon. This particular location is always very busy at dinner time, try to arrive before 6 pm. Most nights you can expect a wait, but the food is so good it is okay! If you are looking for somewhere intimate or romantic, this is probably not the place for you. La Parrilla has lots of families and lots of tables. As another reviewer mentioned, it can be pretty close quarters in there at times. Our favorites.....fajita night specials, Super Burrito and cheese dip. Also, ask for the mild salsa -- YUM!

    (4)
  • Amanda V.

We go to La Parrilla a lot for 2 reasons. 1) it is very close to our house and 2) it's family friendly! It's a great place to take my 2 1/2 year old. The food has been consistently great when I've gone and the price is excellent - soooo inexpensive! Great service there (at least at this location on Dallas Hwy). Definitely recommend it if you have children. Usually those family-friendly places have horrible food...not the case here!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
