This place is FANTASTIC! The Pho is for real and the Bahn Mi is da bomb. This is one of the jewels of the square not to be missed!!!

The food was delicious!!!! My mom had some beef pho along with the Bah Mi sandwich, I had the Kung Pao shrimp. Both were absolutely tasty and were complete meals!!

This place is the place to get Pho! The meat is absolutely amazing and it's soaked in an amazing broth also!!! I recommend getting the pho that has the three meats (can't quite remember what all three are but I know one is meatballs). It's really swanky and when you walk in you are automatically welcomed and taken care of! Love this place!

The food was very good! I had the pork fried rice and egg rolls. The service was not very good. The male waiter acted like he didn't really want to be bothered, and it wasn't crowded. I'm not sure if I will go back, service as well as the food being good.

First time ordering from House of Lu and what a disappointment it was. Delivery took an hour. By the time my food arrived it was Luke warm and my Singapore noodles were swimming in oil. YUKE! The portion was small, the wonton soup tasted of liquid detergent and the egg rolls a greasy mess. I will never order from this place again.

The restaurant very trendy and had great decor! We had the Pho, which was very good! It was definitely a large portion! They even a vegetarian Pho! Service was very attentive and nice. I would come back again for sure.

This is the freshest tasting Chinese food that I have had in years. The Mongolian Beef is amazing as is the Sesame Chicken. The food is prepared fresh to order and the customer service is top notch. The restaurant could use an update, but the food is so good that I don't even mind. I highly recommend this place to all Chinese food lovers.

I stopped by with a couple of friends on a weekday afternoon in hopes of finding a decent bowl of pho closer to home (aka not on Buford Highway). House of Lu made a solid attempt, but it missed the mark. The prices were too high for what it was, but the noodles were plentiful. They also didn't have any sambal on hand, a necessity for pho in my opinion. The service was also good. I'll be back to House of Lu, but I'll stick to the Chinese menu.

My rating is for the Pho because I haven't tried anything else yet. I craved for some but living in Marietta I wasn't going to drive to Buford. It was last min finding this place so I went with my niece and sat down to eat. Nice place! Very nice people! Pho was great! Flavor was good! Will definitely be my go to place when I'm not in Buford area. Speaking of it now makes me want some for dinner!

This place has recently undergone some major updates. I have very specific dietary needs and our waitress Tiffany, and the owner, Johnny, were very accommodating. This place gets five stars for customer service and ambiance. The food is great too!

Went in on a cold day for some hot pho. Ordered the combo which had meatballs and flank steak. Broth was good but meat overlooked.. It needs to go in the hot broth rare and cook in the broth. I love the new updates decor. Will try again so stay tuned.

Came here with friends for some pho on a chilly Sunday morning. Very tasty broth but a little salty for my taste. Tender meats and fresh herbs. I'll return to try their know for Chinese dishes. 'Til next time.

Dang, I guess I bragged too much. Food was not as good this time. Presentation was less that par. Service was very poor. Food came out individually rather than together. Hope this is not a trend.

Love this place. Been here multiple times. Food is wonderful, and the older lady who is in the kitchen is a delight! I love how the place is decorated. Pho is done perfectly! Will be back!

My girlfriend is looking for a Chinese restaurant for out of town guest. Since Alton Brown eats there we decided to try it. I was not impressed I could have gone to the local place by my house. The people were awesome only the food was so so.

The restaurant is a little hard to find, it's behind the Strand Theatre. We ate there with a group of five and enjoyed it so much. The waitress was really nice and funny and the food was so good and tasty. I had the Basil Chicken and Shrimp: delish. The basil was really fresh. My friends had an eggplant dish, coconut shrimp, hunan chicken, and a veggie dish that I don't remember. The shrimp dumplings was a hit for the appetizer. The dumplings were kind of small but they were sooo good. Will be back.

I really love this place! My wife and I have eaten here numerous times and it's always been terrific. Recommended starters: Hawaiian beef sticks and wonton soup. Recommended dishes: Orange beef, chicken w/ veggies and the roast pork fried rice. The fried rice and the orange beef are the best I've ever had.

Pros: Easy to get seated (mostly empty), so there's space for groups. Quick service and the food comes out quickly. Family-style dishes with large portions. Easy to split checks, another pro for a group. Cons: Old decor, looks shabby. Normal food. Too many bean sprouts for my liking. Overall, if you want plain Chinese food, it's fine, but nothing special.

Good stuff. Standard Chinese. Wait staff could use a dose of niceness and courteousness.

I've been coming here since June of '14 and it's definitely my favorite Asian place within the downtown Marietta area. I order from here at least once a month. Never any precut, frozen veggies or sauce thickeners in the vegetarian dishes. My palette usually longs for the tofu pho and salt 'n pepper tofu, but many of the veggie dishes are favorable. Just remember to grab rooster sauce as the heat is definitely Americanized! Their new interior is just gorgeous, BTW. A far cry from the previous decor.

I would give their Pho 7.5 out of 10. Nice broth; hearty sized serving. Didn't receive a lot of accompanying garnishes for Pho (e.g., bean sprouts, basil, etc.), which I prefer. Good price, less than $9.00. My mom ordered Egg Drop soup and she said it was excellent. Her entrée was Mongolian Beef...EXCELLENT! My son ordered General Tso's chicken. It was about 7 out of 10. My sister had the Bahn Mi (sp.??) - the Vietnamese sub sandwich...OMG...the flavors were delicious! Next time I'm ordering the Mongolian Beef, it was terrific. Our server was an older Asian lady (late 50's?); she was very friendly and she was playful with my son.

Cute little place, but easy to walk by. Go on in and make sure to order the Pho immediately. The combo (beef, eye of round and meatball) is great. Broth is fantastic and just hot enough. Had the Pu Pu platter to start with, and it's SO much food. Everything was really fresh and tasted great. The crab Rangoon filling was right down the middle of the plate; not too much onion. Egg rolls were hot and perfect. Had a few drinks plus a huge appetizer, Pho and Mongolian beef, and got out for $60 before tip. Well worth it. We'll be back often.

Pho was terrible. Broth was very weak, salty, and lacking of flavor. The beef was old meat that was so inedible we sent it back. The color of the beef was grey upon arrival and tasted as it looked. The noodles were very thin and like soba noodles? The noodles were in a Ramen noodle clump at the bottom of the bowl. The vegetable and herbs that usually accompany Pho were missing. Instead of these they gave me a plate of bean sprouts, 1 sprig of basil and 1 slice of lime. To close, my spouse ordered Honey Chicken. It was total Mall food. When you dump a gallon of syrup on poor quality chicken to cover it up...that speaks volumes. I will never be back.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes.
