The owner cooks all the food fresh made to order and it shows! First thing you walk in you are greeted just like family. He really gives you the full Jamaican experience and even played some fun music from Jamaica. The food from the appetizer to the main course to the dessert are all equally mouthwatering. Definitely the next place to go when trying something new!

Let's just say I didnt even get through a quarter of the plate. I was keen on getting a great lunch and I was too far from my regular place. So yelp found this spot. I walked in and ordered a medium oxtail for 12 bucks. I get my plate and leave to go be unpublicly greedy at home. I just KNEW I stumbled on something, per reviews. I get home and the servicing size for a medium was really a small to me. The majority of my meal is rice and beans, lightly/hardly seasoned and dry at that. A bit of cabbage....I won't even go into...it taste like it was just boiled, not seasoned or anything. A few slices of hard fried plantain, and like 5 pieces of black....meat. Can't tell if burned or what but tough as taffy. It just really wasn't worth 12 dollars compared to the bigger portions I can get elsewhere for less, && I live for big portions. So yeah, I tried it based on the reviews, Im def not coming back but it seems they need to come back to where I eat, for a real eye opener.

I ate here 1 week ago. I had a beef patty, A gender beer, and goat curry. It was all absolutely delicious. My dad had the brown stew chicken and it was also amazing. I'm glad that I came in and tried this place because it was so worth it! I will definitely be back.

Disgusting service I don't care if the food is good or not which it is but not great, the service is slow they don't tell you when something isn't ready they just make you wait for it without any courtesy. I came here on my lunch break there were 6 people that placed their order and where still waiting my lunch break is only 30 min well it took the dum young girl behind the counter that long to bring out my food she also forgot what I ordered after she wrote it down and made the chef make it lunch special means the food should be ready by lunch they aren't ready I'm from Brooklyn ny they couldn't handle real business only in slow ass Florida they can't even handle 6 people order for food, try the Jamaican restaurant down the block by the meat market across the street from bank of America in a little mall their lunch special is $5 with a free soda and you don't wait more than 2 minutes when you place your order they make it right in front of you right away (wotless coconutz) the owner needs to invest his time in getting better servers and try to formulate a plan in better customer service not because you have a hole in the wall restaurant means you have to not care about your service what a disgrace!!!!! Curry chicken taste nasty wasn't enough curry on it as well fake jamaicans

First time and last time eating at Coconutz! They served me the worst Brown Stew Chicken ever. Let's start with the presentation of the meal. The brown stew chicken looked like a plate of brown vomit. The stew chicken had a weird sweet taste with little seasoning. The cabbage was tasteless. The rice and peas were a mushy mess. The plaintains were hard and dried out. I have nothing good to say about this place! Try Paulee's or Jamaican Jerk if you want quality Jamaican food, not Coconutz!

Wow! Yes, that's how I would like to start out this review. This lovely gem of a shop has been around since 2009 or so according to what I the owner told me. It is the essence of authentic. The Jamaican accent was surprisingly hard to understand sometimes, especially when his good buddy came in to eat what appeared to be his regular order of takeout. They were just talking heartily, and I could only stand at the bar enjoying the feeling of visiting Jamaica. Except it's very conveniently located just off Canton Rd in a strip mall. On to the food and service. I loved it. They have a 100 A health rating; I'm pretty sure it can't be better than that. He let me sample the Brown Stew Chicken, ah man, I'm dreaming of that delicious mildly spicy flavor right now...apparently the jerk chicken is a hot item because he did not have any when I visited. But the brown stew chicken and beef patty were both very tasty. The seasoning he uses is excellent. The brown stew chicken comes with well seasoned rice, and what I think was lettuce(I'm not very good with my leaves). The dish was very well crafted and balanced. The meat just melts right off the bone. Mmm...the guy was super friendly and passionate about customer service and quality product. I have mad respect for this entrepreneur doing his thing out in the free market bringing great stuff to the table. He mentioned wanting to do cookouts out on his patio when the weather is warmer to have some sweet community hangouts. i wished I lived nearby; I would frequent this place at least a couple times a month, which is a lot for me because I rarely eat out. Ya, man!!

One of the unexplainable anomalies in the restaurant world... truly GREAT authentic Jamaican cuisine but I was one of five customers during the peak lunch hour?!?! The Brown Stew Chicken is just like I got when lived in South Florida! The Lunch Special is $5.99 and the perfect amount of food.

Would give 0 stars but I can't. Food was burnt. Unseasoned. Who makes fried fish without salt and pepper? It was off! Catering service: ha! The owner, whatever his name was... Cocky and VERY VERY rude! Will definitely not recommend to anyone. If you want real Jamaican food, ask me. Save yourself!

I am not sure what happened with the bad reviews. I have eaten here twice and it has been excellent both times. I have tried the Curry Chicken and jerk Chicken and I found both to be very tasty, well-seasoned, and the portions were great. Both times I told myself that was too much food and I eat it any way. The gentleman at the counter was friendly and courteous. My orders came out in a timely manner. I will be back. All I can report on is my experience and both times I have had a great meal. So try it for yourself...

All the curries and whatnot have chopped bones. I understand that this is standard fare for many of these sorts of places, but I am a huge fan of those few that have no-bone options. I hate having to pick them out of those delicious rice and curry piles and it makes me sad each time I miss one and chomp down on it. That aside, flavors are good and portions are generous. Prices are about average compared with other Jamaican places. Good selection. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating as well. Friendly staff. No bones in the meat patties! haha

Yelp comes through again. I occasionally use the search feature to cast a gaze around my office's locale for interesting lunch spots. CoConutz came up, with positive reviews. It's not hard to find, visibly located in a strip mall with easy parking. The space is a bit spartan - there's a counter from which you order even if you're dining in, and a few booths and tables. The tables by the window get a lot of sun, so I preferred an inside booth. Drinks are in a cooler behind you on your left as you order. Each time I've been, service is prompt and friendly from the one person there - the chef - who happily explains his menu, which you'll find if you glance up to the wall. Very limited menu - a photo from another Yelper is posted here. Based on reviews, I've tried the jerk chicken, the goat curry, the macaroni side and the seasoned rice. Also two varieties of ginger beer, both bottled. I saw no evidence of the fresh ginger beer another reviewer mentioned. Perhaps it's not offered any more. Jerk chicken: spicy, fall off the bone, very tasty. Two legs, half breast with medium order. I very much like this item. Macaroni side: unusually good Seasoned rice: heavily seasoned, includes red beans. You get a lot with your order. Goat curry: tons of flavor but way too salty for my tastes. Also, disturbingly, the goat is chopped up with the bone. I spent some time picking out about a dozen pieces, many large enough to cause a problem if swallowed. Bottled D&G Jamaican ginger beer: quite good Bottled VitaMalt ginger beer: not so good They also have Ting, which I do like. Overall, a very nice addition to the lunch rotation. The jerk chicken is outstanding and is apparently cooked outside on the two grills I saw. CoConutz also offers curry chicken and the Jamaican version of a meat pie. I must try those. I was also offered the choice of a cabbage side. I'll have to try that, too.

This guy really get it. Everything is great. Must try any of the currys or Jamaican Pattys (beef, chicken, veggie) The funny part, the veggie if my favorite. Great service. Please go and check it out.

I had takeout..Curry chicken was delicious!! I felt like I was eating a recipe that has been handed down through the generations. I will say that the customer service needs to be a lil more professional...

The food here is phenomenal. I always get the jerk chicken with fried plantains and coco bread for dessert. The jerk chicken is incredibly tender and flavorful and the size small is more than enough-- the large portion is huge! The fried plantains are amazing and the coco bread is a soft, not-too-sweet, warmed up piece of bread that is the perfect dessert. Many people probably drive by without noticing, but if you're in the area, you should stop by for great Jamaican food! The service is a little off sometimes, but sometimes it's very friendly, just depends on who is working that day. I usually get take-out and leave a tip. Definitely recommend!

Never heard of such poor customer service. Company catered a co-worker's wedding and not only was 4h late but argued with them about every issue they presented. This should not be something you have to worry about/deal with on a wedding day. Very upsetting and disappointing. Would not recommend.

First of all, the place has a 100 health rating. That's really hard to do. My girlfriend is a goat curry fanatic. She prefers an Indian restaurant, but she had nothing but good things to say about the goat curry here. I tried it myself and it was really good! They were out of the jerk chicken when I went, but I had the chicken curry and it was EXCELLENT. I also got one of the rolls (Coco bread or something like that) which was really good and tasted like a Hawaiian roll but much better and hopefully not as terrible for you. Dipping the bread into the curry was so good. The service was exceptional and the gentleman at the front was very nice. You order up front and then they bring you your food (assuming dine-in). You pay back up front once you're done. The menu is small, but it's all you need. We will definitely be coming back here on a regular basis. There's no spectacular location or storefront, but the food kicks ass. Make sure you check it out. Edit: Oh, and I tried to get the macaroni side that everyone was posting pictures of and talking about, but I asked the gentleman at the front and they either don't have it anymore or just didn't have it that day. In any case, my chicken curry came with a side of rice and what I believe was cabbage. It was VERY good.

Went on a random weekend cause I had a craving for oxtails. Then got a beef patty too. Oxtails were very good, amazing sauce that made me lick the box. And the beef patty had a wonderful creamy texture on the inside. For about $14 for the larger entrée order, at first I thought it was a bit high, but I trusted the guy. Like he said it was enough for a whole meal and a late night snack. Plus oxtails are expensive anyway and take time to cook. So I think it was fair. But I'd advise you to definitely try the oxtails. I would have preferred rice and peas to white rice, but with the delicious sauce over the rice it was hard to complain...lol

I don't know how this place only has two Yelp reviews before mine. I guess this part of Cobb isn't terribly Yelp-worthy in general. The food was outstanding. Between my ladyfriend and I, we had the goat curry and the jerk chicken, and I had a homemade ginger beer (which was fresh and tasty.) The goat curry was really good, even though it wasn't spicy at all. At first I thought it tasted rather dull, but after a few bites I really started to taste the flavors, and the goat was insanely tender. A few of the chunks of meat were still on the bone, but the two could be coaxed apart with almost no effort. It came with lightly seasoned rice that was flecked with red beans and the goat had enough curry sauce to flavor everything. I'd have given this place 5 stars just for the curry. But then I tried my lady's jerk chicken, and I almost started crying for the fact that we live 35 minutes away from this place and I won't be able to eat this chicken every day for the rest of my life. Or maybe I can quit my job, move to this god-forsaken part of Cobb County and see if Country Style Jamaican Restaurant wants to take on an unpaid intern so I can dedicate myself to learning the secrets of this incredible dish. Okay, that's a bit much. But really: Amazing jerk. They were cooking on charcoal outside, which you could taste (and smell and see even before you got to the front door.) Somebody sold their soul for that sauce, though. They served a little cup of it on the side, even though the chicken didn't need a drop more than they'd already added to its blackened skin, so I drizzled it onto what was left of my rice. Even that was amazing. I would have easily paid $20 for a bottle on the spot, if that were an option. I've never been impressed with jerk chicken in my life, but now this place just put it on my list of best things I've eaten this year, or maybe ever. Useful info: We ate here on a Saturday, when they apparently are serving their dinner menu all day, or at least at 1:00, and the lunch menu is off-limits. So everything was around 8 or 9 bucks. Lunch offerings look to be closer to 5 or 6 dollars, but that may only be available on weekdays. I'm not sure about this, though. Also the food was served on real plates, even though this looks like a styrofoam-all-the-way establishment. Good for them. Actually the presentation of everything (which you order at the counter and they bring out to your table) was surprisingly put together. My ginger beer came in an actual glass. And service was friendly. This was a win all around.

I love the braised Ox tail. One of life's hidden delicacies. Curried goat is also excellent. New staff is also really nice. It's one of those hole in the wall diamond in the rough places. 100% on health rating! Go try it. Thank you.

Authentic is key when caribbean restaurants are a dime a dozen. This place was right on par plus they offered a large, clean sitting area with fast service. I'll be back for lunch soon guys, save a spot for me.
