Once again, I have to ask: Why aren't you here? This time I must give these guys some love for really pulling out the stops to make a special event for my Uncle's 90's birthday. They opened specifically to serve our party a private lunch for the event. And they bent over backwards to satisfy our every need. Their event planner worked with my sister to set the menu, the layout--everything. We were able to show up early to decorate, and Aspen's even allowed us to bring in our own cake. The food was outstanding. Our small menu included a fish dish, a chicken dish, and a steak (of course). No one went home hungry. The fish was an exercise in perfection. And service was perhaps the most attentive I've ever seen, anywhere. If you wanted something (anything), all one had to do was ask. They even plated our cake for us (after my Uncle ceremonially cut it, of course). I can't wait for my next trip to Aspen's. Holler if you're coming with.

One of our favorite places to eat after a long day! We have never been disappointed with the service or the food. Always an exceptional experience

A good steakhouse with a decent atmosphere and nice staff. The steak was good, but the sides honestly showed it up.

Atmosphere not welcoming at all. Jennifer was pretty good as our waiter. They ran out of the special New York strip. We were told they only received 15 from the vendor. They were also out of the crab cakes and scallops due to "an issue with the vendor". Once food was ordered one meal was cold while the two shrimp and grits dishes were way too cheesy. Definitely a no go..... not recommended. ... never again. Horrible experience.

I ordered chicken schnitzel with mashed potatoes. If you like fried foods you will love this. My sister ordered Prime Rib with mashed potatoes. she said steak was good, not as good as last time when she ordered their special tho. She really enjoyed my chicken schnitzel so she ordered one to go. Was a bit taken aback when we were seated & I moved my napkin to find several small spiders scatter...ewww. But the waitress was great she moved us and gave us fresh bread & water. would have been nice if the manager had come over to speak to us since we did decide to stay. Aspen's is always crowded I will say.

Not culturally diverse in customers. They ran out of steaks, scallops and crab cakes! Don't waste your time!!

Great food, great service. A treasure for north cobb folks. Deserts are amazing also.

Our family went to Aspens last night to celebrate my husband's birthday and my daughter's 8th grade graduation. Food was excellent. Two of us ordered filet, one ordered prime rib and one ordered the rib eye. All steaks were served exactly how we ordered (from well not burnt, to medium rare) which doesn't happen often. Sides were excellent as well. We order 6 to share (smoked gouda grits, spinach, broccoli, baked potato, sweet potato fries and mashed potatoes). Our favorites were the mashed potatoes and grits. Service was spot on. Our drink glasses were never empty which is one of my pet peeves. And, our server checked back multiple times to ensure all was ok. We had a question about the ingredients in some of the sides and our server checked and double checked and the manager came over as well to talk to us and assure us the items were prepared as requested. Last, I always appreciate restaurants that treat my girls with respect and answer their many questions. Thank you Aspens for making our night pleasant and enjoyable. We will definitely be back.

This review is specifically about brunch, which was just shy of walk out bad. NONE of the hot items were even warm, service was slow for drinks and table clearing. Cold items were fine, but management was indifferent to our complaints about food temperature. I will not be back for brunch, and it is unlikely that I'll try the menu without a coupon.

Honestly, this is really as good as it gets. And I've been to Capital Grille, Morton's, Palm, Del Frisco's, and many others. We went to Aspen's last night for Valentine's Day. (It was my first visit.) The service from Matt, our waiter, was top-notch and attentive. There was a special Valentine's Day menu, but none of the entrees appealed to us. I'm sure they were excellent . . . just not what we were looking forward to last night. We wanted to experience a true "steakhouse" meal so we ordered accordingly: martinis, shrimp cocktail, Caesar salad, filet mignon with baked potato and spinach. The baked potato, by the way, is included with the steak. That is not always the case in other restaurants. For dessert, we ordered the NY cheesecake and coffee. Our drinks, appetizers, steaks and sides, and dessert were perfectly prepared. Even the coffee was good. It had flavor and was hot. This is not always the situation in even the best restaurants. The pacing of the meal was unhurried, despite the fact that they were fully booked the entire night. I was impressed by the decor and crispness of the restaurant itself as well as the quality of the food. All items, except a side of Bearnaise sauce, were at the correct temperature. I order my martinis in a very deliberate fashion: "Grey Goose martini, shaken very cold, with olives." Too many times I am ignorantly asked, "Do you want that up or on the rocks?" That didn't happen here. I watched the female bartender prepare my martini with care and it was delivered by Matt promptly and ice-cold. To be totally frank, the only thing I didn't like was the herb butter offered with their delicious, crusty bread. Matt happily and quickly brought us plain butter. Let's sum it up: beautiful facility, friendly and responsive staff, expertly prepared high quality food, and reasonable prices. Whether you are a foodie (like my companion) or just a steak lover, you will not be disappointed at Aspen's. I truly look forward to my next visit there.

Wow... we were so impressed with this place. I had read the reviews on Yelp in my search for a unique restaurant to celebrate my husband's birthday. He'd specifically requested a steakhouse and we are becoming less and less fans of the big-box chain restaurants. Aspens was a bit of a hike from our house (as are most things in metro Atlanta for us!), but worth every mile. The ambiance and decor are just perfect. Not over-the-top or too fancy, but just right to make you feel both comfortable and as if you are at an upscale restaurant. The staff was awesome. Everyone was friendly, our waiter was so attentive, and the manager came over specifically to ask how our Thanksgiving was. My husband had the prime rib with a side of sauteed mushrooms (unless you haven't eaten in a week, you don't need much more than the giant 12 oz steak) and I had the scallops special with sweet potato au gratin. Delicious. For dessert, we split the AMAZING white and dark chocolate mousse cake and took some home for a midnight snack. They even brought my husband a small piece of delicious red velvet cake with "Happy Birthday" written across the plate (without me requesting it). Much to his happiness, they did not sing to him. :) We will go back without hesitation. Definitely a "special occasion" restaurant for us, but it will be at the top of our list from now on.

Great restaurant. Great decor and atmosphere. Had the snapper and others had the filets. Great all around. Great wine selection as well. Service was very good as well. Would definitely visit again in the future.

We went to Aspens for a date night. It was convenient to our neighborhood and we had heard great things and have had it on our list for a long time. We are very busy, and do not get a date night often. We finally got the chance to try it and did. We ordered: appetizer, crab cake, entrees: two filet mignons, 4 sides: mac and cheese, spinach, grits, and mashed potatoes, soup: broccoli and cheese. Pregnant women beware that the dip for the bread they bring out is very good, but it has Greek caviar in it. We were not told that til after we had eaten some. My wife is pregnant. That put a damper on our whole experience. We told him we were pregnant when he began going over the shellfish/oyster specials and told him he could skip those for that reason. When we found out about the Greek caviar we were astonished that he did not mention that beforehand. We seriously thought it was hummus because of the consistency and taste. He did apologize, but this ruined our whole dinner before we even got started. Water glasses were kept full, and we were offered more bread frequently. Service grade was a 2. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice with a feel of a cozy lodge in Aspen. I give it a 5. The food was ok. For a $130 plus bill you expect the food to be spot on. The crab cake was excellent, it was hot, tasted great, loved it. The steaks were excellent taste, my wife got medium well, I got medium. My steak was not remotely hot at all. My wife's was perfect in just about every way. I under stand that my steak would have a cool center because it was medium, but it was not even hot on the outside. The sides: we're deplorable and tasted like what you might get out of a frozen food section from Kroger. They were cold and bland or too salty. Again let me reiterate that when you pay 6 dollars per side a la carte it better be good. The broccoli and cheese soup was grainy and had a weird texture. It tasted good, but it was just a weird feel in your mouth. Food grade is a 3 barely. Dessert, we did not even consider it because of how bad the sides were. We went somewhere else. If we went back, it would be for a steak only. I doubt we will go back. Maybe our expectations were too high. Maybe it was bad because we were there on a Monday night? There are too many other good choices in Atlanta to go through that again. I usually don't give bad reviews, but this was grossly poor from the kitchen to the service. Look at my other reviews, I love to praise a restaurant/service establishment when that praise is due.

I have eaten here several times over the last few years, but not in a couple of years, I decided to try it again this last week and now don't know why I have kept away from this restaurant for so long. I am giving it five stars mainly because out of all the restaurants in the immediate area, this one stands out the most as having the overall best food, service, and ambience. I ordered an 8 oz prime rib, which was perfectly cooked. No complaints also about the mashed potatoes I had with it. I have always liked the iceberg wedge they serve here and ordered it again. It was excellent, with crisp, succulent lettuce and just the right amount of dressing. I really enjoyed the fresh bread that they serve, which is unfortunately becoming less common in restaurants. It tasted like it was straight out of the oven, and I love the mustard type accompaniment they serve with the bread. If you like beer, they have a fairly decent selection of beers on their beer list, and I had the Dogfish 60 min IPA. One great thing about this restaurant is that if you can get there before 6:00, they have really great prices on their early bird menu.

Having heard wonderful things about Aspen's, we decided to go there for brunch. Will we go back? Yes, indeed. The buffet had a reasonable number of items, all of which were very good. (I'm usually indifferent to steak, but I found their's incredibly flavorful, tender, and perfectly cooked.) I think there could have been more offerings for dessert -- but other than that, our meal was very good, the wait staff attentive, and the price in line with other places.

I was excited to dine at Aspen. I think I'm excited to dine anywhere. I was seated fast and the service overall was good. The bread I munched on while I waited to order was great, crispy outside and very soft inside. I ordered the 14oz Ribeye with Mac and Cheese. The Mac and Cheese was okay. My disappoint came in the medium Ribeye I ordered. The outside was chard and the steak was rough around the edges. The steak was a little tough to cut also. The taste of the steak was okay. The Ribeye did have a lot of meat and was fulfilling. Overall, the steaks are very over priced for the experience and taste. I also tasted a few bites of the 8oz Filet Mignon and felt let down as I did about the ribeye. I also ordered the tiramisu dessert, which was pretty good! In my opinion, Stoney River is a good alternative to Aspen. A little better pricing and the food is tastier. For the price, I'll dine elsewhere for a steak. Hope this is helpful.

mmmmm, great date night spot for Kennesaw students. And by "great date night spot", I mean like Valentine's Day, or your anniversary haha. Fancy shmancy, but the steaks are DELICIOUS, so guys, if you're looking to impress your lady, definitely take her to Aspens for a night out!

Worse brunch buffet I have ever had. Green scrambled eggs not to mention cold. Cold rosemary chicken that was suppose to be hot. Buffet was empty, hardly any food on it every time I went up to it & restaurant not busy at all. Waiter didn't even greet us. We started to leave & manager apologized & asked us to stay. Wish we had left then & not stayed for the horrible food!!

As you probably surmised by the name, Aspens serves a variety of cuts of steak, as well as a handful of seafood entrees and family-style side dishes. This Aspens has very nice ambiance: it's warm and welcoming, but the lighting is perfect, so you don't have to worry about not seeing your menu or what you're eating! The steaks are all generally within the $30-40 range, and you can choose from prime rib, ribeye, or New York strip; if you have a good appetite, I'd suggest ordering one for yourself, but otherwise we always love to do half-portions of one of their salads, split a steak, and get a few sides and dessert. The prime rib was perfectly done to medium rare, and the waiter had perfect timing, too. Aspens is a good option for a tasty steak meal in the East Cobb area.

The whole experience I had wasn't that great. I really feel like the restaurant is trying to be something it's not. The food was ok, the service was ok. One person at the table had a disgusting cut of steak & it was too thick to be cooked properly. Without getting into too many details I would seriously recommend Longhorn Steakhouse (similarly priced) or Stoney River (more expensive but soooo good).

I have been going to aspens with my wife for a few years and it has had its ups and downs. Although I must say that the past few times we have been there the service was great and the food was as well. This is great place to go in lieu of traveling to Buckhead or Roswell and fight the crowds. The NY Strip was perfectly cooked and my wife's could cut her Filet with a butter knife. I highly recommend Aspens for a great dinner experience.

Reason for visit: Husband and Wife Date night. Food: The dishes we had were excellent! We started with the appetizer, Calamari, and the fresh baked bread and delicious spread. We ordered Chicken Shinitzel and the Tenderloin Meatloaf. Chicken was tender and well seasoned. The meatloaf was well seasoned, moist and the mushroom demi set this dish off. This is not grandma's mashed potatoes! Everything about our meal was wonderful. We took home leftovers. It was not as good the next day. The Chicken was still tender but the oil from it being fried was everywhere. Not appetizing. Price: The price fit our experience. Service: Our server, Lindsey, was courteous and attentive. Environment: The location is great at the Shoppes of West Cobb. You. Really feel like you're in a Colorado cabin. The decor was tasteful and just enough to not be cheesy. Suggestion: I would suggest making reservations via OpenTable and requesting a seat in front of the two-sided fireplace. We wish we had known. You can have a drink on a cozy couch on the other side of the fireplace. Save space for dessert next door. Walk off the meal with some retail therapy.

Great service from Jan, but also can't believe how good the food was. I had the trout paired with Gouda grits and spinach... Too die for! I love to take recommendations from the servers because they know what's good! She didn't steer me wrong. One of the best meals I've had in a while. Hubby had the prime rib with Mac n cheese side. Also great! Yummy!

An OK neighborhood restaurant for the area, since there's not much competition at that price point. However, lately we've found that many changes to some of the menu recipes leaves one guessing just what the delivery foodie will look/taste like. For instance I like to mix it up when ordering, since we are frequent customers, but their recipes for Meatloaf as well as Chicken Schnitzel have been "re-arranged" at least 3 times in the past year.. So you never know what you're going to get or how it will be served. One thing that seems to be stable are their Prime Rib cuts as well as the Filet Mignon. I would give Aspens 3 stars.

I was very optimistic about this place, but simply found the value to not be there. Service was just okay, and the steak, while expensive, just wasn't a lot better than other places. Add that sides are extra, and it just didn't add up for me, and I was really hoping it would.

Simply terrific, both this place, Ruth Chris and Cherokee Cattle always do great in the area, if you are going with someone you hate or want to fake being sick to leave on a bad date then you take them to the Texas Roadhouse.

Great food, great ambiance inside is cool and loud, outside great sightseeing and warm and much more quiet. Service was a little shaky for me, but the tables around me were loved well by their staff. Had the "wet" steak which was great and they have dry rubbed as well a bit more $. I tried the bone marrow appetizer to be adventurist and I'm glad I did, but didn't love it, but think it's very cool to have on the menu. Go try it!

I was here a long time ago, but had a coupon and so I took the family out very recently - we really enjoyed the evening and I can see us visiting again We split a wedge to start - that was good as I always think a full wedge is too much lettuce For dinner, we had the 20oz ribeye (shared) and the salmon - the steak was very good, and the salmon was ok, but maybe because I really liked the steak! We had a side of spinach which was cooked just right For dessert, we split the pumpkin brownie (wow!) And the creme brûlée - a good representation The service was very good, the atmosphere very nice and I can definitely see us visiting again

My wife and I were looking for a fun night out with good food and drinks. This place was highly recommended so we decided to try it. We arrive about 9:15, were promptly seated, given bread and water. We thought things were going well until the next 20 minutes rolled by without any service at all. I watched not only 6 of the wait staff stand around the host counter chatting and what appeared to be a floor manager having a conversation with another of the waitstaff in the corner. I attempted to flag someone down to get some service and no one came our way. After that my wife and I were pretty fed up, we had no menu's no drinks and couldn't get anyone to come over. It wasn't until I put my jacket on to get ready to leave did someone come by and ask if we had been served. I said no, they went and had a 2 minute discussion with the hostess then decided to bring us menu's and ask if we were ready to order (really we had just been handed a menu how could I order). We said we needed a minute and the waiter proceeded to apologize and that no one knew who was supposed to wait on our table. I didn't need an excuse yes they messed up, but a lame apology after waiting that long was not worth it to remain there any longer. This place wants almost 40 bucks for a steak and that is fine I pay that gladly at other steak houses, however I figured dropping a couple hundred bucks between drinks and food this place just wasn't worth the cost. I would have figured for the class of restaurant they were in the service would have been much better and there might have been something offered to my wife and I for waiting. One other last note on this place. They ask you for your name so they can address you by your name (I would imagine for a more personal experience) even after waiting without any service when they did come to our table we were not ever addressed by name. If I could give a negative star I would but one is the least I can do here. This place might be a good place. I won't know, they had their chance to make an impression on me and it was a negative one.

The food was ok if all you want is a piece of meat and nothing else. I ordered a prime rib which was around $27 for 12 oz and it came with nothing. No potato or vegetable. Just meat on a plate. When I asked the waitress she said they just went to an al-a-cart menu. This was a crazy price at any other steak place I'v gone to in the area I have had gotten a bigger steak and a side for that price.

I'm only giving a three star based on our experiences, which I figure is probably unique and rare. We waited for an hour for a table (HINT: Make a reservation!) and were finally seated and the first table sat in a room with 8 tables. Immediately a guy brought us water and bread and was very nice. Then, we sat. And sat. And sat. Other tables in our room filled up and waiters came and went...we sat. I finally went to the hostess stand to tell them what was happening. They were very apologetic and said they'd take care of it. About 5 minutes later (all this is within about 20 more minutes) the manager came and introduced himself to us and apologized. He gave us a free drink and said we'd be taken care of. We sat. And sat. FINALLY, a waiter came up, not very enthusiastic and announced "two waiters were assigned to you". Don't know what he meant, but we didn't even get one. Since we had our 6 year old with us and we'd been there 1.5 hours - we told him forget it, we weren't hungry anymore. Leaving, the hostess was VERY nice and apologetic, and must have gotten the manager because he chased us out into the parking lot and gave us a card with free dinner on it for us. SO, don't know about the food, but the manager cares. We must have been that 1 in 100 that something goes wrong.

We went in for the early bird special (5-6pm) and it was fantastic! I had the shrimp and grits which was the best I have ever had. It was $13 and a large portion. I also ordered a chopped salad that was $3 instead of $11! Also very good. My daughter had the ravioli and loved it, and my husband had the trout which was served over gouda grits - also a big hit! We ordered the chocolate mousse desert which was to die for. The atmosphere is very nice with beautiful and bright paintings on the wall and a fireplace in the middle. The server was pleasant and friendly. We will definitely be back!

I made reservations for Fathers Day brunch and boy was that a mistake!!! My family along with 3 other African American families were seated in the back of the restaurant. I personally thought this location was reserved for personal parties but to my disgust, it seems that its reserved for the "non white" customers. I politely asked to be moved to another table but was told all tables were already reserved. We sat for over 15 minutes and the "reserved" tables remained empty... Needless to say, My family will never return to this establishment.

This little gem hidden in the heart of East Cobb is about as good as it gets without being to stuffy. Anyone and everyone is welcome to dine in, including children. The atmosphere is beautiful and the food is phenomenal. Everything that I have ever had here is wonderfully delicious and they have a new menu addition daily that is sure to wow you. Chef Sean is an absolute food guru and really keeps his fingers on the pulse of his clientele. It is a steakhouse and the steaks are cooked to perfection. A few items that I suggest you try are the macaroni and cheese, the tuna poke, the prime rib, and the chimichuri hangar steak. All of this and on Tuesdays you can get half off bottles of wine.

Ambiance and perfected food--this dining experience was that rarity where I lingered with my husband longer than usual to talk and enjoy time together. It was a Tuesday night at 9 when we were seated so I can't say what atmosphere the lodge-like room would have with each table seated. However, our server was pleasant and attentive, our orders were perfect, and I didn't feel rushed. The price, while it states $$$, was less than our visit to a $$ pizza place the night before. This is my new favorite steakhouse.

I was recommended by a fellow carnivore to visit Aspen's Signature Steaks in Marietta (East Cobb location) and boy was I impressed. It's unassuming location opens into a lodge-style steakhouse at a ski resort in the Rockies. The menu, service, decor, and wine selection are all top notch. Our server, Lauren (ask for her) was awesome and led us through a great culinary experience. Lauren recommended "Aspens" Rutherford Ranch 2008 Napa Cabernet; it was bold, smooth, well-rounded, and only $9. For an appetizer we shared their Blue Lump Crab Cake, probably the best I've ever had. It was huge and entirely made of fresh, moist crab meat, served over a delicious Cracked Mustard Beurre Blanc and topped with an Apple Fennel Slaw. I would've loved to eat two of these as my entree (guess I'll have to come back). Next up was their Pear Salad: Mixed Greens, Sliced Pears, Spicy Walnuts and a Cherry Vinaigrette. It was served with a Rye Bread Toastette topped with warm Cana de Cabra Goat Cheese (similar to Brie, with a skin and fatty/gelatinous layer surrounding the cheese) that was divine. The salad was split into 2 plates for us, each a good size, and everything was great but the dressing. Totally subjective, I'm just not a cherry man. It overpowered the pears but stood up nicely to the spiced walnuts. We also shared some Lobster Bisque. Rich, creamy, and simple, as it should be. Dip some of their freshly baked bread and you'll be a happy camper. I should also mention that the bread is served with Taramasalata, a tasty spread made with Greek caviar. OK, so I am a self-appointed steak and bacon professional. I always order a Ribeye, the chef's choice cut. Leave it on the bone and we're in business. Aspen's offers a 20 oz. "Cowboy Steak" Bone-In Ribeye. The Chefs here seriously want you to taste your steak, so I ordered Medium which turns out to an honest Medium-Medium-Rare, bright red the entire way through. A couple can easily share this, especially after a starter and salad. Tender, flavorful, and perfectly marbled so every bite is as good as the last. You'll try to save some to take home but it's not gonna happen. Apart from the Angus steaks and prime rib, there are many enticing seafood, poultry and game options on the menu. Wine drinkers will love their hand-picked 8,000 bottle cellar that guests can stroll through before making a selection. Throw in great service and a comfortable atmosphere and I'll definitely be back for special occasions or just a great meal.

Lovely restaurant with excellent service and delicious dishes. Extensive wine list. I have never had a bad meal here. The steaks are great, as are their other seasonal dishes. You also cannot beat their Early Bird deal for meals before 6 pm. It's an oasis in the middle of East Cobb.

I have to give this place 5 stars. My family comes here for brunch whenever I'm in town (it's amazing), and I've spent a fair amount of birthdays, including my 21st, enjoying steak cooked to perfection. I have probably been here more than 20 times, and I can't think of one time where they disappointed me. That's a hard thing to say for any restaurant you go to that many times.

Outstanding! Everything was perfect for us. The food was absolutely delicious! And the portions were sufficient for the price. The service was off the charts! We have no complaints whatsoever! Our only disappointment is that we had no room for dessert.

My husband and I love Aspens, and have been about four or five times in the past year. It is just as excellent as Buckhead steakhouses, such as Chops and Bones, but much closer for us and less expensive. The ski lodge atmosphere is very tastefully decorated. The bar area is relaxing and comfortable, especially by the fireplace in the wintertime. We love the filets, ahi tuna, creamed corn, and salads. The waiters are always knowledgeable about wines, and we've never been let down on a recommended bottle of wine. If you don't want to go for dinner, it's also a great place to relax with a drink by the fireplace.

If you cannot be bothered to head downtown then this place offers a reasonable menu for this neck of the woods. It is overpriced however the worst thing has to be the bar / wait staff. Food can be inconsistent.

  • Margaret C.

This is the nicest place in our neck of the woods. When we don't feel like driving into Atlanta for a nice dinner this will hit the spot! We first went here for our third anniversary and most recently went to celebrate our eleventh anniversary. Over the years there have been lots of birthday celebrations, several just because we have a babysitter dinners and even an Easter brunch with both Mother in Laws. The Easter brunch now has my 5 and 8 year old begging to go there on a regular basis. While the earlybird special is great when you are pinching pennies (we've been there!), we love the regular menu and their specials. My favorite is a crab cake with a broiled lobster tail. They may not advertise it as a special of the night, but it often is and if you are really nice I bet they will make it for you anyway. We usually split the Lobster Bisque as our app because it is a huge bowl and they offer to split it for you. I thought this was crazy the first time I heard it, but it is really large enough for two. Just a favorite of ours!

I went here with a group of girlfriends that I hadn't seen in a long time. One of them had recommended it. I've driven through this intersection so many times and had no idea this restaurant was here - if I have any "complaint" about this place, it would be that it's not very visible from the road. We had a really great time. They seated us in a large, cozy corner booth. It wasn't too loud so we could actually have a conversation and catch up. There was a fireplace in the middle of the room which would make this a great place to come on a cold, rainy day. Everything we ordered came beautifully presented, and was delicious. The wine list was extensive. Definitely the best wine list I've seen in East Cobb. If you're looking for a good, romantic place to eat in East Cobb that isn't a chain, and don't want to drive to Buckhead or Roswell, give Aspens a try.

Had a blast! The filet was fantastic, the 3 cheese Mac with bacon blew me away. Came in on half off wine night to top it off. Our waitress Valerie was terrific and incredibly nice.

Great service and food for a special occasion. All six of us were happy with our dinner selections. Definitely a place we'll return to when we're back in town to visit the family.

I had not been to Aspens for several years but decided to go for my birthday tonight. It will be my last trip ever. I am NOT a picky customer and have seldom ever sent food back. I ordered the Cowboy bone in rib eye for $39. The waiter assured me this was their best steak. When it came our server asked me to cut it open. When I did, it was obviously overlooked. I ordered medium rare. This was more medium toward well done. He took it back. The manager came back with the second one. Upon cutting it open, it was medium rare and looked fine. However, when I tried to cut it into bites, it was impossible. I sawed and sawed and I have never really seen a steak like this. It was fully half fat. You couldn't cut it much less eat it. I had planned to take half if it home since it was a "18 oz" steak. I was barely able to get enough bites to call it a skimpy meal and certainly nothing left to take home. I guess I could have complained again but dinner was basically ruined at that point and I felt like I was having to fight for my food. Not worth the hassle. Two try's for a 'steak house' should be enough. I left the table to wait in the car for my husband to pay the check. They comped the calamari for the trouble of having to send the first steak back. I won't be back. I will just get a great cut of meat at Costco and cook it at home. Dinners beware of Aspens on Shallowford and Sandy Plains Road in Marietta.

Went there with RE/MAX Leading Edge for an Event in the back private room. We had Hors d'oeuvres to snack on. The food was WONDERFUL! I am ready to go here to have a sit down meal. We had steak shish kabobs, calamari (AWESOME!), tempura veggies, cheese and Fruit. The veggies were lightly battered and very good. There was also Chicken kabobs that I did not try. The steak was so tasty and tender. They have an early bird menu from 5-6pm Tues. - Sat and all evening Sundays & Mondays. Haven't tried it yet, but prices look great. A great way to try several different items on the menu for a great price. I totally recommend!

A solid option for a nice dinner out. The steaks are great, of course, but I've always enjoyed the other menu options as well. What I really love and remember about Aspen's is the space. Although it's in the middle of a strip mall parking lot, they've done really amazing things with the inside decor. It's dark and inviting and comfortable: just what a steakhouse should be. The art on the walls is amazing: I've always wanted to take one of the giant horse portraits home with me. As Justin said, it's a great spot for a nice date or to just have some good conversations with close friends.

This eat came highly recommended. The outside looks like it could be just off the ski slopes in Vail, CO. Nice aspen decor. I ate at the bar because the wait was 35 minutes for a table. Wine selection is very good but overpriced. The bourbon select was really nice. They had my fav Woodford Reserve over ice, "That's Nice". I tried the mussels in cream sauce appetizer. Extreme good. For dinner I had salmon and garlic mash potatoes. I recommend Aspens, but thought the bill was a little over the top. I will save this eat for a special occasion not just a quick dinner. Enjoy

Mixed night out with friends - the friends were great, the meal was mixed. Overall, for the prices, I think there are better places out there. Started with a salad. I normally never get a wedge salad, but tried one and was glad I did. The dressing was very good. I had the tenderloin meatloaf - very good. The other entrees did not live up to that. The flank steak was not cooked as desired (overcooked). Although our friends said the other steaks were good, they certainly did not look like the prices charged. $28 bucks for a steak with a potato - it should like something more than a grocery store cut. Had a white and chocolate mousse cake for dessert - it was very good. Had a nice round corner booth, atmosphere was good. Service was good throughout.

Just about the best steak / meal I've ever eaten. Great waiter, too. 14 oz ribeye, medium well, still juicy, little pink, great salad, great bread. Even treated us to a little free desert when we told them it was our anniversary. A little expensive, not the place you just drop in, but for something special, it is something special!

One of my number 1 places to go for the amazing selection of fresh oysters! We always order a variety but I love the west coast oyster and the next time I'll get only this one. Darn can't remember the name...just ask for the small nw oyster. Yumm The service is always great at the sandy plains location but can be slow and a bit indifferent at the west Cobb location. Actually the sandy plains Location is superior in service, quality of the food and the ambiance. I drive from w.cobb to go to the e.cobb location.

This is a nice "special occasion" place with an upscale atmosphere and menu while still remaining cozy and inviting. The steaks are usually solid, although I've one or two not-so-great cuts in all the times I've been here. The center-cut filet with three-cheese macaroni is my favorite dish. My husband loves the flat iron steak, and the sourdough bread with hummus spread they bring while you wait for your food is the best! The service here can be hit or miss, but we usually have a great experience at this spot.

This Steak House, which is part of the Van Gogh inspired chains of Gogh's restaurants, offers a unique atmosphere catered to all ages. The restaurant's main appeal of course is revealed through its name; Aspens Signature Steaks has at least 7-8 different steak selections on the menu, which they recommend you coat with the delicious lobster bisque and cheese topping (delicious.) The restaurant also has a relaxed and romantic atmosphere with dim lighting, somewhat private seating, and a double sided fireplace surrounded by couches at the front of the restaurant. Overall, Aspens Signature Steaks is not exactly an environment for the Friday night bar hopper or club groover; however, it is a perfect place to take a date who you wish to leave a good impression upon.

Great restaurant but very pricy! They started off being one of the best in the area but the prices have increase quite a bit. If money is no object then go, if you want a treat this is a great place

I have been going here for the past 5 years and love it. We frequent it about 8 times a year minimum and have had bad service once and that was an isolated incident. I have tried every item on the menu just about and loved them. Only suggestion I have for prime rib lovers is if you like it rare go early. Towards the end of the night the rib roast they cut from has been cooking too long to give any really rare cuts. Not the restaurant's fault though.

Love Aspens East Cobb because it is so close to my house. We went on Monday for the all night early bird menu and $5 Grey Goose Martinis. I had the center cut filet (have to get a steak at a steakhouse!). Filet was cooked so well that I could cut it with my butter knife. My favorite side is the macaroni, bacon and three cheeses...hands down the best mac & cheese dish around. They have great specials all week long.

Ok guys, I'm not sure where these reviews are coming from but my experience here was horrible. It was honestly shyte. Yes, it's close to home but I will never in my life go back to this place, There's a Taco Bell and a Wendy's right across the street. Ok, so, you may ask how Aspen earned all of this one star and accompanying animosity... Well, lets start with the service. Slow, possibly stoned or high, I mean that's cool if you wanna get blazed at work, but keep on top of your game man, c'mon people are hungry. 15 minutes after being seated I had to remind Mr Server that we would like some of the bread (best part of this place hands down) that accompanies every meal. But guess what hilariously happened, Mr Server, after being reminded, forgot again (insert laugh track here). So, of course we reminded Mr Server about the bread crisis again, we finally got some, and for a while, things were good. We ordered our steaks. Three Prime Rib dinners. Two of the orders medium rare, and one 'well done' (if there is such a thing) for my little brother. 35 Minutes pass. The natives grow restless, hunger is growing and the bread is all gone. Finally, patience runs out, one of the party hunts down the manager... at the same exact time, three Dinners are coming out. So, Aspen Signature Steakhouse: thoroughly unimpressive two medium rare Prime Rib appear to be more like Medium Well. Hmmmm... I was too hungry at this point to complain, I threw it down. As management was notified about the pretty much bad food, both cuts were replaced, and one was comped from the bill. Management handled this problem the correct way. I commend them on that. Regretfully, the steak was still nothing special. I wish I could write a good review and tell tales of delicious steaks... but I can't my first visit there was bad too... I got a fillet that was completely boring and full of gristle. Sorry Aspen, please practice your signature and improve your steak. Really... I expect a whole lot more. Please train your servers about your extensive wine list, and please, tell them not to brag about the meats being USDA Approved... Best wishes

Pretty good food, but still on the pricey side. Had the trout with cheese grits and spinach, it was good, but not amazingly so. I'd go back, but it wasn't amazing. My husband adds that his side dish was a bit on the small side (he had the bacon mac & cheese with his steak).

This is an amazing restaurant and if you're ever in the Woodstock, Georgia area, I absolutely recommend it highly. It's basically the perfect date restaurant ever made on the Earth. The food was excellent, the lobster bisque is definitely something you must try. I also had the shrimp and grits dish, with cubes of bacon in it. It was so rich I couldn't finish it, but I tried!! My favorite part of her experience was the custom Smore's that we had as our dessert. The dessert comes with homemade marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate. It's served over a little personal sterno flame so you can roast your marshmallows right there on the table. It was the end to a really great night.

A dissapointing night from what used to be a go-to steakhouse. The server was nice and professional, but a tad slow to attend. The food was OK for the most part, with some sad moments. We went for a birthday celebration, and unfortunately her meal was very poor. First her steak was undercooked, then when brought back out it was charcoal. Yes, they eventually got it right, but that is unacceptable if your specialty is steaks. My dish (Tuna w/risotto) was solid but underwhelming. Not to mention the asparagus was left off, and when I called them on it I was told it was in the risotto. No, no it was not. I was later told it was indeed not, yet not offered anything but an apology. I just feel like with an mid to upper level steakhouse, these were really bad mistakes that probably will cause me not to choose this again for special occasions. I gave the benefit of the doubt with a 3 for previous really good meals, but this certainly brought it back down to just a other steakhouse.

Wow what an awesome meal. From the appetizers (steak, goat cheese, roasted peppers &tomato bruschetta, crab cake, oysters, to the lobster bisque & red & gold beet salads. Main courses steaks (fixed prefectly) meatloaf lover was in heaven, then there is the shrimp & grits w/ cheese (best grits I've ever tried) & then we had to split the chocolate tower. Only thing better than the food was our server Kurin. She is on my top 10 servers of all time list!!!

Entertained clients here this week. We had excellent meals, the majority of the ordered entrees were steaks and were prepared and presented very nicely. We also ordered a variety of appetizers that were shared by the group. This restaurant is worth a return trip in the future.

Terribly disappointing. Went for wedding anniversary because of a friend's recommendation and good reviews. The food quality is terrible. Steaks are no better than Kroger, and sides taste like they came from freezer. Bacon mac n cheese was only item not completely disappointing. Calamari appetizer was the most tasteless version I've ever had. Save your money and go somewhere cheaper, or spend more and go somewhere better. This is pure mediocrity, and terribly disappointing.

I've been coming here for special occasions since I was a kid. Their steak is to die for and their bacon mac and cheese is my favorite thing on the menu. I've come here for my birthday about 5 times now and every time, my family is treated with warmth and hospitality. The manager even came over to our table and told my cousin that he liked her personality and friendliness so much, if she wanted to she could work there! If you order before 6 o clock, they have an early bird menu which is $6-8 cheaper and with the same portions. On sundays they have a brunch buffet and while it's pretty pricey ($22 i think) they have a variety of items, from salmon and steak, to mashed potatoes and belgian waffles, its a pretty decent sunday brunch.

I've driven by this place for years, and my wife and I made our first visit earlier this week. My wife had the filet, and I had the bone-in ribeye. Both were fantastic! The baked potatoes were perfectly cooked (not dry), and the Mac-n-cheese with three cheeses and bacon chunks was really, really good. The service was excellent and everyone is super nice. We had a great night out. We will go back.

Our friends chose this spot for a farewell dinner of sorts. I love steak, so I was definitely game! We were seated promptly at a booth that was a bit too small to fit 4 fully-sized adults, but we managed and stayed cozy (maybe perfect for a first date that's also a double date?!). We ordered a bottle of wine right off the bat and were surprised that we were IDed - obviously we're not trying to shirk the law, just surprised that a nice steakhouse would card us, especially when we're talking about a bottle of wine and not cheap booze. My husband and I shared the risotto fritters to start. I really liked the touch of goat cheese in the middle, but I felt the marinara on top made the fritters a little soggy. For that reason, I'd like to see either less sauce, or the sauce served on the side. But, I thought they were delicious, and a take on arancini I have not seen before. They come four to a plate, but we chose not to share as our friends order the bruschetta and neither of us are fans of that dish in general. For dinner, I had the filet. When it was delivered the server asked us to cut into it (!) to check the temperature. I had ordered mine medium rare and before cutting into it, I pressed the top of the steak and could tell it was under. I really didn't want to cut into it, knowing that it might cook a little more as it rested, but I was under pressure. Sure enough, it was more on the rare side. Before I could say anything the server nodded to the table and walked away - so I'm not sure what the point of even asking was, especially knowing my steak would have cooked a little bit more without cutting into it. Luckily, I was OK with this level of rare and decided not to make a scene. Steak was tender and tasty, but seasoned pretty plain - maybe salt & pepper only. I had the peppercorn sauce with it and would definitely recommend the sauce. The clear winner for the sides is the gouda grits: creamy, but also light in a way. Almost like mashed potatoes. They were great, and definitely enough to share between 4 people. We also had the mac & cheese. It was spiral pasta with cheddar sauce and some bacon on top. Reminded me of Velveeta. While it was good, it wasn't spectacular, and I'm definitely not understanding the $7 price tag. Our friends also ordered the creamed corn and that was definitely on point. Not something you'd usually order but worth it. For dessert, our table the s'mores for two as desserts anywhere are normally way too big. It was not clear this was a make-it-yourself dish, but when it arrived, we had enough components for 4 s'mores. Not sure if that's normal (for two) or if they were just being nice to us. The house-made marshmallows were humongous and very thick - we all spent probably 5-7 minutes trying to roast the marshmallow but no one got their marshmallow center to be gooey- they should consider reducing the size of the marshmallow to make it easier. They should also consider providing local chocolate, or varieties of chocolate (like white chocolate, chocolate with toffee, etc) instead of Herhsey's to make this even more special. But this dessert was definitely a fun way to cap off the night. Overall, it was a good experience, but I would probably choose another place for our next special occassion.

This place is pretty good, but for the price you can do much better. I recommend trying it, but in the future if I want a good steak and want to spend this much money, I'll head somewhere else. We had the prime rib (medium) and also had the Salmon. The Salmon was delicious, perfectly cooked, and seasoned well. The prime rib was rather disappointing. It was slightly overcooked from my request of 'medium'. It was still decent, juicy, tender, but lacked seasoning and soul. The sweet potato fries were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle (cooked very well).

I usually like this place but on the last visit the chopped salad was not worth $12 at all the fried shrimp just wasn't good for some reason and the Keylime pie was the strangest Keylime pie I've ever had it was more like a citrusy mousse.

This is such a great place! I absolutely love this place! Great Steakhouse if you do not feel like going to Atlanta. Started off with the Maine Lobster Bisque it was WONDERFUL! Had this fried fritter in it loved it! Had the Aspens House Salad which was great! Then did the 8 oz filet it was a GREAT cut of meat! Loved it, cooked well and seasoned well! I ended up having my wedding here! My husband and I eloped and ended up bringing our family here afterwards and it was great! The staff was AWESOME! I will say though some of the food DID come out cold but feeding 50 people at 8pm it probably was not their fault! Enjoyed it here will be coming FOR SURE once a year!

A great night with good friends, good food and good service. It takes a very special place to celebrate our 38th Wedding Anniversary. The night could not have been better. Valerie and her team made sure everything was perfect. To say the least we made several changes to our menu choices and they all were followed to the letter. For anyone looking for the best of the best try Aspens in East Cobb.
