I have never walked out on a meal. I try to stick through it but this was HORRIBLE!! We started off with some margaritas which were horrible. Mine was so bad I could not even sip on it. We started off with the Peel and Eat Shrimp and Margaritas Special Guacamole. The shrimp were over cooked and chewy and hard to eat. The guacamole tasted like it was made three days ago. It was not good. We decided not to order entrees paid and left. Not good. Go to LaParilla down the street.

Good food, great prices, and unending supply of chips and delicious salsa? I'm a fan! Margaritas is THE tex-mex place in Macon, and as such I've now been here several times whilst visiting my sister in Georgia. The service is very pleasant, the bathrooms are surprisingly awesome, and the fish tacos are DEEELICIOUS. Make sure you ask for the rice and beans to come with, since they are "by request" but totally worth it! The beans have a nice kick, in fact. It's all really, really good. I'm sure that I'll be back the next time I'm down south for a visit!

Food is excellent. Come here every trip we visit from Colorado. Not impressed with our service this last venture home. Both days we visited I felt like food was great but had to work hard for it. Plates never cleared had to track servers down for rounds of margaritas, also seemed put out on me ordering 2nd round will be back but I do what you do for a living don't be a jerk and you will get more than 15 percent kasey. my wife and friend felt uncomfortable and felt as an inconvenience for the 30 mins we were here.

Closer to 3.5 stars, but I can't go to a four here. Most definitely a Mexican restaurant that caters to Tex-Mex, rather than authentic Mexican. Fairly average offerings (but solid). I ordered the tacos al pastor. Interesting experience, as they asked me if I'd like cilantro and onions. Ummm...yes? That's the way they come where I am from. The pork was very well seasoned (not overly salty), but the biggest surprise was when I hit something sweet in the mix (pineapple? guava? I think it was pineapple). It would have been delicious with some corn tortillas, but they regrettably came with flour. Altogether very good, but not authentic. My wife enjoyed her taco salad, and my brother's side dish was fairly average in terms of a lunch special at any Mexican restaurant. I did notice a large selection of tequilas on the way in, but it was early, and I just don't drink tequila out. If you're an aficionado, then you'll find better offerings than your standard Cuervo or Patron. Our waitress was friendly, but a bit green. Almost refilled our drinks a bit too much, and it was hard to get a word in edgewise without an interruption. The booths were a bit tight in terms of space, and the table was kind of wobbly. Like I said, good, but I can't get it to a 4. Wish I could.

Have the steak and shrimp fajitas... Most excellent! Can't beat the chips... hot sauce and cheese dip, either!

Nice food, friendly staff. But I s every employee new? My wife and I were traveling through Macon and opted for something non-franchise. This was overall a decent experience after a very long trip. My wife had a chicken salad and the server cooperated with the request of dressing/salsa on the side. I had the combo dinner and chose the chicken burrito and mushroom and spinach quesadilla. The latter is worth the trip. Delicious. What could improve? It seemed like the employees were either new or semi disinterested in their jobs. A food runner had to count out loud the table numbers as he passed by to see where the food on his tray should go. The hostess had no personality and seemed anxious to get back to checking Facebook rather than giving any sort of warm or genuine greeting. Our server was friendly. However she had never heard of the beer I requested, which is on their menu. Then later I asked for a 20 oz draft. She said, "We don't have that size." I said I was sorry, I thought I saw that on the menu. "Oh, it's on the menu, but we don't have it," she replied. Suggestion? Perhaps hiring more Spanish speaking employees would give this place more authenticity. All employees either need retrained or replaced. Would I come back? For the quesadilla only.

A very pleasant lunch experience for the family. The chips and salsa were fresh and the white cheese dip was a yummy addition! There is a wide range of selections and good choices for the vegetarian in the family! The order-yourself buritto can come in sizes for one, two or three. The size for one was ample to split. Everything was served fresh and hot. The Margaritas were yummy and the beer selection ample. Good value. The staff was extremely friendly and very welcoming of our infant-in-chair! Definitely worth a return visit!

Ok if u have to run for the boarder every now and again why not here. It's a grade A type place with all the staples you'll expect. Great margaritas (top shelf) nice chips and dip. (Not those thin skinny frail joints you'll see other places. ) atmosphere and general warm sense of welcome which u hope to feel at the neighborhood spot. Fast food ...fresh fast HOT food is more like it. They get u going in a hurry. Price is better than La Parilla. I've tried a lot a dishes in my previous visits and I must say I'm always impressed or simply satisfied. Come check it out. It's usually an open place at the bar and seats roll around pretty fAst here so u won't have to wait long.

Love this place. Chips and salsa starter is addictive. Stop here every time I am in the area. Good food, good service, and fun environment. Had the combo platter tonight - burrito is FULL of meat(chicken) - very flavorful. The Taco Soup is tasty. Others ordered the Texas Fajitas and Quesadillas...plenty of food and lots of clean plates.

This is a great place if you're craving some pretty inexpensive Mexican. They have all the basics- great queso, fresh chips and their in-house salsa has just a little bit of a kick to it. I'm a big fan of their juarez style burrito that comes in different sizes (if you want to share, although the one person portion is enough for two people!) and has a wide variety of ingredients with which you can pick to stuff it. Their margaritas are pretty good- their top shelf one is delicious although if you are into flavored margaritas (which I am) I find the ones at La Parilla to be better (more options although more expensive). Our food always comes out hot and fast. Service is good- the waitresses are always really sweet when we bring our baby girl in. It is never crowded so there isn't a wait for a table. There is outside seating available on their patio as well. This is the go-to Mexican place for the me and the hubs!

Monday night is .99 taco night! Try the top shelf margarita and the Margaritas House Special Salad! The bartender is great and definitely down to please the customer!

My favorite Mexican restaurant in town. Love the ambiance and decor. Never had to wait for a seat even on weekends. Fast and really friendly service. Food tastes fresher and seems to be of better quality than other Mexican restaurants in town. I've liked everything I've tried so far and their margaritas are great.

I hate to say it but I received extremely poor service at this location last night and I am very disappointed by it. As someone who worked in the restaurant business, in many capacities including management, for many years, I am always hesitant to write a bad review but I feel writing this one is important because I don't think it was the server's fault. He was completely overwhelmed and as I watched him literally run around the restaurant, it was clear that he was spread way too thin. He had multiple tables in the bar, some outside and it appeared at least one in the dining room. He came up to our table immediately but neither my guest nor I caught his name bc he was talking so fast. He didn't have time to make any personal connection with us and really was just trying to not drown, it seemed. He was fairly efficient at it until it came time to end the meal. We sat with my guest's plate empty and my food ready to be put into a to go box for over 20 minutes. About 15 minutes went by before the manager (Hispanic gentleman in a red button up) came by and asked us if we'd like more water. I told him we'd like a to go box and our check. He brought the box and seemed to forget about the check for another few minutes. He walked past again once and seemed to have an "aha!" moment but still no check came. Finally, our server brought it to us after asking if it was together or separate (which I find a bit off putting typically but I'm sure it was only in an effort to effectively use his time.) I wanted to pay with my card but left cash bc we were so ready to go. In closing, I don't see this as a server problem. I see it as a management problem. The manager should have asserted himself and seen that his server was overwhelmed. He should have been helping him print checks and close people out, refilling drinks and taking care of customers. Instead, he seemed to be walking around. Also, our server had the bartender yelling at him several times that he had drinks ready and asking him questions. There were barely any bar customers. I think the server was failed by the bartender as well bc she should have recognized his struggle and run his drinks for him, at the very least. Yelling across a dining room, be it in the bar or otherwise, is never a good look. Now, I am a realist and I do know that sometimes servers get greedy and ask to be sat repeatedly to bump up their volume and that very well may have been the case in this instance. But again, the manager should have control of his dining room floor and not allow that to happen. I love Margaritas and will certainly return to the Zebulon location where I have always received great service even though it is farther from my house. I'm giving 2 stars bc my guest really enjoyed her food and our margaritas were great as usual.

Good food, good atmosphere, and good service. Sat in the bad to watch the FIFA pre game and ordered a Medium Margarita. It was definitely a large drink, but it was delicious. My husband ordered a large and it was the size of a fish bowl! Love that you can do a "pick two" or "pick three" to create your own meal. Great concept. We will be eating here again when back in the Macon area.

Ok, I will explain my stars. Service: 2, waitress was distant, didn't pre buss (keep table clean, remove old dishes), my entree came out & my empty appetizer was STILL sitting there. We finished what we did eat (ill get into that later) & the dishes were still there. Cleanliness; 5 nothing was on the floor, tables were clean as soon as a customer got up. They used team work to clean. All good there. Food; 1, I had a steak fajita, my fiancé had the house special which was a bed of rice topped w/ cheese, steak, chicken, shrimp, peppers, & onions. Ill start w/ my food. Sautéed veggies were great, cooked to perfection. Steak was tuff & hard to swallow, Lettus, pico, sour cream, & guacamole were put on a hot plate w/ my rice & beans. So they weren't very desirable after they got hot. My rice was hard. Beans were not as bad tho. My fiancé enjoyed the fact that her house special came w/ steak, shrimp, & chicken most places don't offer all 3 w/o a additional charge. She said her rice was better then mine because it had cheese in it. She didn't say much because she was so aggravated about the service. Once we were done w/ our meals, we waited, & waited, & WAITED but nobody came to take ANY of the plates that had sat there since we arrived. They had plenty of staff & it was no lunch rush, the bar was even empty. So finally we stacked our own plates & waited another 10 minutes for our check. By this time my margarita glass empty! I ALWAYS tip above & beyond no matter what but this time off a tab of $40 I only left a $6 tip! Remember always tip your waitress, they only make $2.13 an hour that they don't even see because taxes take it all. Anyway, I did not enjoy my experience, & I will never come back.

This is the best margaritas in macon. If there is one nearer to you...trust me just drive to this one. I literally drive past the Zebulon rd margaritas to eat here. By far some of the best Mexican food in Macon...which seems to be a Mexican food desolate area. Great margaritas too!

Shrimp burrito was awesome with a nice sauce and the shrimp cooked perfectly. My husband had the steak and onion quesadilla and said ideas delicious. It was very convenient to get to from Hwy 75 on our way to Savannah. Great spicy salsa too. We enjoyed it so much that we stopped her again four days later on our way home.

We have been to this location several times because it seems to be better than the rest. The margaritas are always tasty and the food is always good. We have not had a bad experience at this restaurant. We have been there when it's crowded and when it's slow and service is always good. I can't say that I have a favorite dish because it's all good!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
