It is so bad I'm writing this review before we are even getting our meal. We are here for my Wife's Birthday. We got here at 4:45 PM. They seated us at an empty grill and took our order. After taking our order they left us sitting here for 30 minutes waiting on more people to get here. We had to wait on the other people to order before the cook ever came out. Basically, the let us sit here anvisitd be hungry and stare at the walls just so they could fill up the grill. The cook is also a arrogant smart ass. We have been coming here for a long time , but this may be the visit.

Always love coming here! Service is usually pretty good and food is always delicious.

I love this place! The hibachi is awesome! The chef is willing to accommodate even the strangest request of my friends (one is gluten intolerant, so he cook hers first of all and THEN cook for us normal beings, one doesn't want onion and one is allergic to mushroom). He was so patient and friendly to us, not once rolling his eyes! I appreciate that very much! His cooking is great, not just salty and far from bland, and most importantly, unlike many other restaurants, not greasy. The service is ok. There are not many tables in the house but the decor and ambiance were fine to me. We will certainly come back here for more!

Absolute worst service ever! The waiter who took our order didn't even look at us. He took my order for dumplings but did not bother to ask how I wanted them cooked. I had to bring it to his attention when he returned with our drinks. Our dishes were never cleared from the soup or salad throughout our entire meal! The order was messed up too. The cook only spoke 2 words to us "hello" and "goodbye" let alone act enthused about his job or do any "tricks" at all! He did not ask us how we wanted our steaks cooked and was just cooking to cook them. Then, he was going to just put them on anyone's plate without asking who had what. The food was mediocre, my steak had a complimentary "fish" taste, so needless to say I did not eat any of it. When I brought all of this to the attention of the manager on duty he was very dismissive. Did not care and still continued to charge us the $51 for our meal. He claimed I got a 10% discount because I was not originally charged for the dumplings due to an employee error when creating our check!! When I asked for the franchise email to email the owner he refused to give it to me or contact information for the owner. Stay away from this place!

I just recently moved to Loganville and was disappointed I was going to have to find a new hibachi place since we were no longer near our favorite place, Samurai Blue in Lawrenceville. I had been to Kyoto before and remembered having great food and great service...so I figured we could try this place again. We have been going to Kyoto now for a few months and each time the wait staff seem to be in the worst of moods. They are not friendly and almost seem annoyed when you order. Since there are not many other hibachi places in the area we continued to go back. Well, last night we went and had been sitting and waiting for 20-25mins on them to come out and start cooking the food. I understand they have to prep food and that takes time, however, there were just two of us at the table! As we are waiting, a huge family walks in with about 5-6 kids along with several adults. The owner/manager decided to seat them at our table! This meant we were now going to have to wait even longer for them to place their drink orders/figure out what each person/kid wanted to eat/bring out their soup-salad/prep ALL of the food/and then come cook it. I could not believe it! We had already finished our soup and salad and had been waiting forever and now were going to have to wait on this family. I understand they try to fit as many people at a table as possible, but when people have already been waiting, there are other open tables and a huge family walks in...you sit them at their own table! If it had been another couple or even three people it would have been different. The entire family did not even fit at our table. A few had to sit in the middle section! We decided that we did not want to wait another hour so we told the owner we were leaving and wanted to pay for the salad/soup we had eaten and our drinks. When we told him why we were leaving, we were informed that this family were regulars. That's fine....from now on we will be making that 30min drive over to Samurai Blue in Lawrenceville where we were once "regulars"!

Very friendly staff and atmosphere, fried rice is good, chicken is good, the vegetables are ok (a bit too much butter for my taste), the salad and house dressing is good, the soup is not so good. Great experience. Will come back when in town again!

Went here for lunch. Service leaves a lot to be desired. Wait staff seemed like it was a bother that anyone was there. So much so my friend asked the waiter if he was having a bad day cause he wasn't smiling or anything and his reply was, "No, I'm hungry like you" (wow) The ginger salad dressing was very good. The soup however had no taste at all. The California rolls were pretty good. I ordered the filet and must say it was delicious - cooked just right medium rare and excellent flavor. My friend ordered the chicken and it wasn't nearly as good. The teriyaki sauce was very watered down. We both got spicy fried rice and it was excellent. After eating my filet I started in on my vegetables, very good and rice. Unfortunately after several bites of the rice went to get another bite and there was a hair coming up with my fork out of the rice. Looked at it good hoping maybe it was one of mine. Unfortunately it definitely was not one of mine. Called one of the waitresses over who looked at it and call the manager/owner over. He came over and looked at it and walked off. He came back and asked which order on the ticket was mine and I told him. I told him to charge me for the fillet which I had eaten thinking this only fair. He ended up taking 3.00 off of my bill. I paid my bill and tip and left but kept thinking about the fact that he nor anyone else EVER said I'm sorry or apologized in any way and also how after that happened I couldn't even eat my vegetables, but that wasn't taken off. I paid almost 15.00 for a lunch that was not enjoyable. I will not be going back here as I feel like they just look at you as a $$ coming in the door not a personable customer.

The food is okay, but the service is absolutely horrible. Two of the main servers there make you feel like you're a complete bother to them. While I do enjoy going for the food, I have had my last visit there. The staff would rather sit at a table and talk on their cell phones than come and take your order, and when going in at noon in the middle of the week (when they had 5 customers) I was told that I could only sit at a grill unless I wanted sushi. Being highly allergic to shellfish, it is a must that my food be cooked in the kitchen and kept separately from everyone else. It is almost impossible to keep my food from being contaminated at a hibachi grill. Overall, while the food is decent, I can go to Sake Gura in Snellville and have good food and MUCH better service. Hopefully the staff at Kyoto can get their attitudes in check before they run their establishment into the ground. My family will never go back.

My wife and I have enjoyed this restaurant many times and each time it was fantastic. The only issue we've ever experienced is an occasional slight over-cooking of the steak and chicken. I always have the Shrimp and Chicken Hibatchi, my wife always gets the Steak and Shrimp Hibatchi. Our recommendation... load up on the pink sauce, it's awesome! They call it the "yum-yum" sauce.

Y U M M Y! The best Japanese we've ever had. We have been going for 5 years and it's never been less than amazing. We don't do sushi but the Snow Mtn sushi plate is incredible. It's not one of the raw ones...that's all I know. It's never too crowded and if you sit at the bar or a small table, you can be eating soup and salad in 5 minutes. The best part is that they will bring you a giant squeeze bottle of Yum Yum sauce! Delicious!

Until tonight, this had been my favorite spot for teppanyaki (or what all the locals will call "hibachi"), but this evening was my third experience of being seated behind the chef because existing patrons were enjoying their comfortable spacing at the table. Like the last two times this has happened to me, I was seated in the connecting section, closer to the adjacent teppan table than my own. Once I realized that two of the previously seated guests were only ordering sushi, that was it-- I decided not to eat here this evening. The last two times, the existing some of the guests seated before us weren't even eating. Additionally,we had a party of 8, and they had no problem seating us at an existing table with 4 people with 4 of us overflowing onto the connector and into the next table. I don't blame the patrons seated before us- they were first to be seated. But for a restaurant charging about $20 an entree in Loganville, I refuse to be seated behind the chef, only to be forgotten or get the leftovers at the teppanyaki table because the chef forgets you are his customer. The food here has always been good, however, I feel it is priced above average in this market given its location. This was the third strike for me. If I really want to eat Kyoto, I will order carry out or come at lunch where it is more reasonably priced, otherwise I will elect to go somewhere where the seating is more consistent.

Back in the day, the only place to get good Japanese food was Kobe Steakhouse in Roswell. Now there are Japanese restaurants on every corner in the suburbs. Some good, some bad, mostly all over priced. While I don't live in Loganville, I have found it's well worth bypassing my local Japanese restaurants to dine at Kyoto. I've been here several times and have always enjoyed the food. But first of all let me start by saying I have not had the hibachi here. I find it ridiculous to pay $20+ for cubed food fried on an over-sized hotplate, no matter what Japanese restaurant it is. But I do love sitting at the sushi bar and ordering my usual consisting of a crunch roll, salad with ginger dressing, and fried rice. Their crunch roll, or in other restaurants called the super crunch roll, is basically strips of tempura and Japanese mayo, topped with shrimp and eel sauce. Ok, not very adventurous of me, but it's soooo good! I can't pinpoint it, but there is a sweetness that I think comes from the tempura. Kind of like a funnel cake batter. That sweetness mixed with the salty soy sauce is heaven. The salad is the typical ginger dressed salad, no surprises with that. And the fried rice is what you would expect. It's got great flavor and big pieces of egg throughout. I do think it's a tad greasy, but I think that adds to the deliciousness of it. Service is always good and the price of the roll is actually a few dollars cheaper than my local Japanese restaurant. The place is clean and contemporary. Overall it's a pleasurable dining experience that I like to repeat often!

When this restaurant opened a few years ago, I used to frequent it mainly for the sushi. I had the hibachi once and it was excellent! I then moved away and happened to be in the area again for a personal trip. I wanted sushi so I stopped in with my fiancé. The sushi was as good as I remembered in the past. The guy making the sushi was sloooow! I heard others at the sushi bar say that the other guy is much faster. They were also out of the asparagus that was supposed to be in one of our rolls so we selected a different roll. Overall, still a good place to get some sushi!

Love this place! Hibachi and sushi. You can sit at the hibachi table for the fire, or a small table and get the same food, or sit at the nice little bar.
