Always enjoy eating at Los Nopales. I particularly enjoy the buffet. They do a great job of keeping it fresh. Even when I don't have the buffet, I particularly enjoy the Palomino. It is a great place to eat and the food has always been consistently well prepared.

This is the regular Mexican Restaurant in town that we visit. For the most part the food has been good. The service is hot or miss. If it's not too busy and you don't get a server that just started then you should be ok. Doesn't seem that they take a lot of time to train the new staff and I've had a few bad experiences with new wait staff

Los Nopales is easily the best Mexican food in West Georgia. I have never had a bad dining experience there, and I have been going there for years. Recently, I stopped in for the first time in a while. I was glad to see that the queso is still delicious. I ordered the chicken quesadillas and I was reminded how good they are. Being the desert addict that I am, I ordered some fried ice cream to finish off the meal. It was excellent, as usual. The service was great. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because Mexican food is not my favorite. However, I find it hard to believe that anyone could walk out if this place unsatisfied.

Down here on business and getting takeout to bring to the hotel. Went to the bar to wait. Lovely surprise! Wednesday $3 margaritas. They were very good girlfriend didn't go light on the liquor. I had the Carna Asada which was extremely good! Let me tell you why I'm taking a star off I ordered no beans and there were beans and my co-worker didn't get tortillas with his fajitas. That was disappointing. Nobody looked in their bag before we left. Would go again if I'm down here.

Found myself in need of a late lunch and didn't want fast food. Wanted to relax with a glass a wine and a nice meal. They promoted their lunch buffet, but as it turned out, they stop serving lunch at 3, but stop restocking at about 2 so by 2:30 wasn't much left on it. Ordered a glass of white wine, they brought me white zinfandel. And the waiter didn't seem to understand that just because it says white in the name, doesn't mean it is is "white wine"...it's pink. To him Chardonnay is something all together different. Can't attest to the rest of the food, seemed nice enough. And steady crowd which makes one wonder why they wouldn't at least keep the buffet half stocked until just before it closes.

As promised - I stopped in to this place and found it to be even less then it was the last time. I'm not sure if there has been a change in management or a change in staff, but the change wasn't a good one. Service was slow and all I was trying to get was a cold beer. Sitting waiting gave me time to actually over hear a few other people complaining too! I guess that's the reason I had no difficulty finding a parking place this time. Last time it wasn't so easy. The cleanliness of the place and overall vibe has been lost with the changes that have taken place and this will be the last time this traveler stops in!

I ate here recently for the first time in five years due to moving. I missed this place a lot, yet on this visit the food was horrid. Most of the food tasted like it came from a toaster oven. I would recommend checking out another Tex Mex restaurant in Troup County.

This place is now getting 2.5 stars. Their sister restaurant, Cisco's Cafe, is so much better and the food is much less greasy. After eating my (not so delicious) tacos, I was incredibly sick to my stomach, which was especially no fun as this was my birthday dinner with my family. I now live closer to Los Nopales than to Cisco's, but if I have to choose between the two for anything other than queso dip, I'll just drive across town to Cisco's.

Everything I have ever eaten there tastes like it came out of the microwave. The menu is typical and unimaginative. That said, the staff is typically friendly and fast.

In the big city, this place probably gets a three star, but it isn't in the big city. Very good food for a small town with limited choices for Mexican food. I actually prefer the buffet that they do (at least on Sundays for lunch) to ordering off of the menu. There is a good variety (fajitas, tacos, chicken wings, rice and beans, etc) and the food has always been fresh. The chips and salsa are pretty good too. The service can be hit or miss, but always with a smile. Smiling and then not coming back for a while doesn't cut it though. Again, this doesn't happen all of the time. It is a little pricey for a small town - not bad in the big city, but again this isn't the big city. My mother-in-law likes going here and so do the rest of us. We will keep coming back.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
