Healthy Meal suggestions for LongHorn Steakhouse

The trick to a good meal at this Longhorn is to get the right server. Table service is awful. Sit at the bar and sometimes the service is excellent, other times ehh. Never go there for lunch. Service then is pathetic.

Food was good. Service was lacking. Very slow and inattentive. Didn't have contact with our waitress for the first ten minutes. No refill until after the food was gone. Very tasty though.

We eat at this restaurant often, my husband likes the "Flo's Filet", though I find it very much over-tenderized and unpleasant. On Friday night, we ordered our dinners, including upgrading the salad that comes with dinner to a specialty salad. After eating most of the salad, I found several pieces of human hair on the plate (definitely not mine, my spouse's or the server's). The manager actually patted me on the back, and offered me a new salad. . When I refused, she gave us a $2.25 credit, calling it a local discount - exactly half the price of the salad itself. She never apologized for ruining our meal, and frankly, the $2.25 credit was insulting, and her attitude was unprofessional and patronizing.

Never had a bad meal at a Longhorns and this one did everything right. The service was excellent and the steak cook to perfection.

The food is really good here. The only reason I took a star off is because the servers are poorly trained. Both times we have been here, the waitress didn't know what was in certain dishes, how it was prepared etc. We ordered a bottle of wine and she couldn't get the cork out. I felt horrible for her, it's not her fault she received poor training. Hopefully management reads reviews on here and take a day to really train their employees.

Worst run Longhorn I've ever been to. Almost 20 minutes to get a beer at the bar, almost 30 minutes to get appetizers once seated and ordered. Ordered a steak (medium) and it came out well, sent it back for a medium and was given a rare. No manager involvement until I'm walking out the door and when I shared my experience the apparent manager says, "oh. That's too bad. No in between, huh." After the look I've gave them I was offered a gift card as I was walking out the door.Terrible!

The menu is a little overwhelming, but it's pretty normal for a Longhorn. For an appetizer, the parmesan crusted asparagus is the best option. It's enough for 4-5 people, and it's tasty. Always ask for bread if it doesn't show up after ordering drinks. For a meal, if you're not looking for a steak, go for the chicken tenders meal. It's adult-portioned and the breaking is better than your "frozen fried foods" variety.

Normally, I wouldn't bother writing a review for a chain like this. I felt I needed to, however, because of some of the earlier bad reviews. I ordered the 8 oz filet, well-done. It arrived butterflied. In my experience, the server (at any restaurant) would ask if I minded if they butterfly my steak. That didn't happen here. When our server asked if everything was okay, I replied that I would have been happier if they hadn't butterflied my steak, and asked for some steak sauce. He brought the steak sauce, and not a minute later, the manager came up, apologized profusely, and told me that they had fired a new steak for me and not to eat that one. Another manager (kitchen manager?), then came and apologized, explaining that there had been a mix-up in the kitchen. A fresh (non-butterflied) steak appeared only minutes later, with additional apologies, and offers to comp dessert. From the moment we walked in the door, we were seated promptly, attended to promptly, and served promptly. And even though I never asked to see a manager, nor did I raise a fuss about the steak, that was attended to promptly as well. Whatever problems previous reviewers remarked on at this particular restaurant, they seemed to have been corrected completely. Next time I pass through Kingsland, I will not hesitate to visit this LongHorn Steakhouse, again.

My dinner consisted of shrimp. They were fried, and I ordered them as an appetizer. Unfortunately for the restaurant, there were so many of the shrimp, by the time I finished, I wasn't hungry anymore. I always order an appetizer, and finish it prior to ordering my main course. This time, I didn't need to order a main course.

The food is really good and the staff is pleasant enough but we had a phone coupon and they couldn't take it. We were visiting that location from another state we didn't have the access to print it out. A little annoyed by this locations policy. And I was thirsty most of the meal because the waitress was chit chatting with her friends.

Got stuck in non-moving traffic on I95 so we took the exit and decided to grab lunch. Well we got stuck with non-moving service instead. Everything took forever. It wasn't just us either because the table next to us had some issues as well. The food was the same as other Longhorn's so no complaint with the food. Bathrooms were nice and clean. Always nice to find nice facilities during a road trip! Hopefully they figure out the service issues.

I went a year or two ago and have not been back since. Their steak had so much seasoning I thought I was going to have a heart attack on first bite. It seems all of these franchises are the same. Bland or over seasoned.

Was very disappointed with food and service. They actually had to give both of my parties a 25% discount and take things of our bill

In the beginning, we had a nice bottle of wine in need of a good steak. Longhorn Steakhouse was the only place in town that we could find who would allow bringing your own wine for the meal. So we hauled our California Central Coast Cab over there. They didn't even charge a corkage fee even though we would have gladly paid. From here, it gets even better ... The staff was very friendly and competent. The food ... well, we did come here to eat ... was very good! T-bones were excellent, cooked just right, and the salads and garlic fries were good also. We will definitely come back every chance we get!

Longhorn Steakhouse has been a power-force steakhouse in major South Eastern Cities for the past 15 years. I have visited their establishments in Atlanta, Jacksonville FL, as well as some of their newer ventures in Pennsylvania. All of these dining experiences have been consistent, enjoyable, and the Steaks, Sides and Service have always been excellent. My Issue with the Kingsland Longhorn is that I feel that Longhorn has possibly lost its way and needs to focus on the essentials that made them on of my most favorite American restaurant chains. Not to harp on the importance of needing consistency, but in my opinion, this is what makes a chain restaurant truly great. If you go to a Longhorn in Jacksonville you want the same experience in Atlanta, Right? If you are traveling out of town, and you see a Longhorn in Scranton PA, you want a similar Longhorn experience. Longhorn always produced the same product and service. This is what I loved about them! Unfortunately, the Kingsland GA Longhorn greatly misses the mark. As far as the Food, Its consistent Longhorn quality, but when coupled with the poor service, frequent mistakes and bad attitudes, it totally makes for a bad experience.

I take back never having had a bad experience. Last Friday we went for their 30 dollar dinner for two. The Caesar salad that I ordered was a normal salad with Caesar dressing. I know the difference thank you. We sent it back. We both ordered the Bacon Crusted Sirloin (new on the menu) medium rare. It came back over done to the point of burnt. Bot waitress and manager tried to convince us that it sometimes comes out that way on the grill but burnt is burnt in my book, sorry folks. Once the mistakes were pointed out, the waitress did a great job correcting them. The second steaks were very good btw. Till now I would not have expected that we would have had to send three dishes back at LongH orn without being offered a comp on a dessert. We should have pushed that more than we did. We love longhorn and are sure to keep going but when they ask if everything is alright speak up if it's not.
