They had me at "hand-dipped" corn dog and chili-slaw dog. You can even choose between McEver pork or Nathan's beef. The dog was excellent, as was the fried okra and french fries. They have some serious deep-fried deliciousness at this old place. However, hours are only 11-3:30 PM most days. NOT open on Sun. And bring cash!

Finally checked this one out a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised. It's strictly a place to grab a quick lunch so don't expect ambiance or indoor seating. The parking lot was nearly full when I rolled up which made me feel like I had been missing out on a hidden gem. Then I found out that the stand was under new ownership. I tried a burger, slaw dog and fries. The burger tasted like fresh ground and hand patted meat. Seasoned perfectly and served bare, it was a delicious basic burger. You can add toppings but they will add up quickly. The slaw dog started off as a Nathan's weiner topped with what I couldn't determine as home made slaw. It was delicious as well and served on a toasted fresh roll. The fries may have been the best part of my lunch. They were hand cut and I believe fried twice since they had a crunchy exterior and soft interior. Simply awesome nada place I want to take my kids when they start begging for a trip to one of the chain restaurants down the road. Take a few steps off the main drag and try this one out for yourself.

Changed owners again. Took a long detour off the highway specifically for the corn dogs. Guess what, they don't have corn dogs any longer. Also fries and onion rings are frozen per order taker. At least they were crinkle cut. We had a couple of burgers and chili-cheese dog. Burgers were OK, but had no seasoning. Chili was also not very seasoned and they forgot the cheese. Might be OK if you needed a quick bite and were driving by. Not worth leaving the highway for. We won't be back.
