Kyoto Japanese Steakhouse Menu

Came for lunch. Very clean, prompt service. Ordered a volcano roll, bento box, and sashimi sampler. Everything was great, tasted very fresh. EXCEPT, and this is sad considering how close we are to the ocean, the crab they use is imitation. All in all good food, just get anything other than something with crab. Disappointed in that.

Second time here...service is good, sushi is good, rolls are ok. I'm a bit disappointed that rolls advertised with crab are only imitation. I might be a crab snob, but here where crab is plentiful, I was really hoping for the real thing. The cooked food is good, beef teriyaki really nice.

Always enjoy the sushi lunch specials. My wife and I have never had a bad experience here. Servers are pleasant and attentive. Food is pretty good quality.

Normal delicious Japanese spot spot with good sushi, one of the better places in hinesville

The server got my order wrong. I asked for it to go. The fried spring rolls seemed like they were frozen. They did come with an interesting sauce that I liked. The sushi rolls were ok. With an appetizer and two rolls it came out to $20. Not worth the money. This place is clean and neat, however I don't think I would rush back.

This place used to be a good place to go. Lately everytime I go if I go and dont have the specific waitress that actually cares about her customers (who has quit) we have constant issues with customer service. Either they dont understand or dont care. If I could give his restaurant less than a star I would. I will nevet come back here unless I am restrained and carried in here.

This is the second sushi place I've been to in Hinesville, and I will definitely be back. Our server wasn't fantastic, but the food and overall experience was incredible. After a disappointing meal at Sushi House, a fellow Yelper (Sara G.) recommended Kyoto. I'd driven past it a hundred times or more without realizing it, and never would have stopped if it weren't for the recommendation... Thank you! I took my wife here on a Thursday night around 6:00 PM. It doesn't look like much from the outside, and to be honest I had mixed feelings before walking through the door. The parking lot seems like a poorly planned afterthought, and the small restaurant is sandwiched between McDonalds and a car dealership. As soon as we walked through the door, we were greeted by an extremely friendly and eager staff member. She warmly welcomed us and guided us to a table. There were probably 6 or 7 other tables seated around the clean and nicely decorated restaurant. Within about 1 minute of sitting down, our server was at the table and introducing herself. She had an extremely thick accent, which we usually enjoy in places like this, but her's was pretty bad. In addition to her heavy accent, she was incredibly soft-spoken. The combination of these factors was extremely frustrating for us, and probably embarrassing for her. When we go out for sushi, we typically order a large combination plate/boat/arrangement to split between the two of us. Kyoto has a very respectable selection of plates for individuals, but we had to do some extra work to piece together what we wanted. We ordered about half & half sushi/sashimi, and OH MY GOD IT WAS INCREDIBLE. The ingredients were fresh, the textures were perfect, the temperatures were ideal, and the flavor was off the charts. The presentation was a bit lacking, but that's not as big an issue for me as everything else. The chef plated the sashimi with an inordinate amount of iceberg lettuce, but that wasn't a huge turn-off. By the time we were done, the lettuce was the only thing left!

The food here is decent. Come here for lunch instead of dinner as the menu and portion sizes are the exact same, but half the price for lunch. I like their shrimp sauce. They do not cook the food in front of you which is a disappointment. The food is just ok. Not the best Japanese food I've ever eaten, but certainly not the worst either. I wish the waitresses would focus more on serving the customers instead of flirting with drunk men at the bar. On more than one occasion I have had to walk up the bar with my glass and refill it with water myself because our waitress was too busy passing her number out to drunk men.

Lunch service was ok, our waitress seemed to be in a rush, which I can understand due to it being lunch time (lunch rush). I ordered the lunch box special, California roll rice was a little hard and the miso soup tasted watered down. When I was eating my chicken tempura I found a long black hair in it. I was so grossed out. I won't be coming back here.

I have been here twice and both times it was just ok, however, I will say that their rice and "yum yum" sauce is super delicious. I have never had their sushi but the two times I have been, I got the teriyaki chicken it was a bit dry on both occasions. The place is clean and the staff is nice. For Japanese in Hinesville, it will just have to do.

This place is delicious. The portion size is generous, but some items are a little bit pricey (that's why I only give them 4 stars). The hibachi is awesome. My husband loves the eel; I personally love the raw rolls. The servers are all very nice and courteous. If you've tried Sushi House by Arby's, this restaurant is run by the same people.

Food was wonderful!! Service was great. We didn't know what to expect as this was our first time visiting Hinesville and we were pleasantly surprised. The drinks were great and the food was delish.

This is by far the best sushi I've had since I've been in Georgia. Our waitress was extremely attentive and friendly, the sushi was great, bursting with flavor and everything came out in a timely manner! I had the salmon hibachi and it was so flavorful and I couldn't ask for a better piece of fish. Very moist but slightly crispy. Definitely our new date night place!

Where do I begin. It took us over 30 minutes to place our order. We were ready in less than 10. Our server seemed to know nothing about happy hour or alcohol when we tried to order drinks, (a vodka cranberry and a draft beer). I actually had to leave the table, go to the bar and check out the taps because she didn't know what they served. Two tables sitting by us, who came in 10 and 20 min AFTER us got drinks, starter soups/ salad, and appetizers before us. Soup and salad were awful. Entrees, when we finally got them, were bland, shrimp and scallops were minuscule. The steak was good, chicken was dry. The rice and veggies were flavorless. They don't cook the food at your table like most hibachi steakhouses. Our waitress never came back after we got our food. We ended up having to cash out via the manager. I thought it was because she was busy, but no. She had 2 other tables. As a server/ bartender/ lover of hibachi restraints, I was severely disappointed and so was my husband. I've read good reviews but only concerning the sushi. Hopefully they do that better.

Decent sushi, especially for Hinesville, Georgia, neat specials and the rolls had a good artistic presentation. The miso soup and salad were hastily prepared and lacked any meaningful taste or substance. Service, while pleasant, lacked timeliness. We waited for over an hour for just 3 sushi rolls. Plates were served separately, and took too long to arrive.

Sushi is good from what we have to pick from in this town. There not really big at all Staff is good depending on time of day. It seems when we go early their not awake let alone they always try to make us pick something else, if they don't have it ready Ex: white rice, fried rice. Other then that its Okay I think everything is just done really fast.

  • Amanda P.

We ordered the sushi for two and everything was delicious! The atmosphere is great and it's very clean inside. I gave 4 stars only because there was some kind of miscommunication between us (husband & I) and the waitress. Twice she did not bring out what we had asked for...it was very similar, but not what we asked. Otherwise, very good!!

My husband and I have been to Kyoto twice and both times had really good sushi. My husband, who has been stationed here for 6 years, recognized an Asian female at the hostess stand and started talking to her. As it turns out, this restaurant is owned by the same people who own the Sushi House in Hinesville. If you like their sushi, then you definitely have to give Kyoto a try. From the outside, the restaurant looks a little bit dated and worn, but once you get inside, the restaurant is very well done. It's actually surprising how nice it is inside as compared to out. The waitstaff is VERY attentive (sometimes almost TOO attentive). My husband and I commented to each other on both visits that it was creepy how the wait staff seemed to hover over you and watch you eat. We tried numerous rolls on both visits and agreed that the Green Dragon roll is our favorite. It's an eel roll topped with avocado. The soft shell crab roll is delicious as well. I would skip the miso soup if you are accustomed to the kind you receive at the larger Hibachi restaurants in Savannah. This is not the same and tastes like fish broth with tofu. Definitely not a fan, although my husband liked it. Overall, we are ecstatic to have another dining option in Hinesville, and are looking forward to our next visit.

Good sushi in Hinesville. Someone did this small town a great service by opening this restaurant. The decor is nice too. If you want pretty good Japanese fare, try this place. It's a pleasant surprise. It gets 4 stars because restaurants are slim pickens in Hinesville.

My husband and I went here on a whim and are so glad we did! The food was exceptional, especially given the very moderate prices for sushi. Not sure where the previous yelpers have had sushi before but Kyoto is lacking in flavor. Skip the sushi in Hinesville and try something else. I have not tried their hibachi but from now on, I'll save sushi for a city visit or get some from the grocery store if I just have to have it. Friendly staff is the only reason for the second star.

The food was great, service was good but the server was annoying and lingering like she spit in my food and wanted to watch me eat it. Server over did it a little. I had the Chicken Teriyaki, was good but could use a bit more Teriyaki, was more like plain grilled chicken. My husband had the Sushi and loved it. I seen a roach crawling on the floor near our table as we were leaving.

This is the best sushi place in the fort Stewart area hands down. The atmosphere was good, the service was friendly, we did have our 1 year old with us who was sleeping half of the meal. Who stayed asleep until she smelled the yummy food and woke up. We ordered a side of rice in a pinch and the service took it with grace and got it to us pronto. Kudos on that one. There is a sushi bar, a drinking bar and a restaurant all in one place. All in all a great place to sit down and enjoy yourself even if your kids are not. The prices are affordable and they do offer a nice variety of food as well. Sushi, traditional Japanese steakhouse foods, and lots of appetizers. BC we enjoyed ourselves so much here I am biased to have nothing bad to say about kyotos, but in the tradition of honesty and sincerity I must have one improve. The front of the restaurant is a bit plain, although the inside is comfortable and clean. Also the entrance hallway is currently under construction. All in all 5 out of 5 BC the food and service were great! Nothing here but good eats and memorable times for a couple who rarely get to eat out anywhere.
