This restaurant was amazing. My wife and I went here for our five year anniversary, and the service was on point from beginning to end. First, the lady who took my reservation was very attentive in helping me plan a nice evening with my wife. She set up a great view, secluded area, and a great experience. Next, Joel and Jen (our servers) were professional and friendly. They were amazing at following up with drinks and food. If we needed something they were there. This was a dinning experience. Thank you for a great 5 year anniversary, Mike Also, whoever cooked my filet "that steak was off the chain"! I will definitely be coming back for seconds.

If I were to grade this restaurant only on the ambiance and scenery, it would merit five stars. As it is, I have to factor in the quality of the service, so I can't in all good conscience award any more than two. Yes, the service was just that disappointing. Both the grounds and the interior are simply stunning. An atmosphere of grace and elegance permeates throughout. The turning mill wheel is a wonderful theme centerpiece, and the geese and turtles which stock the lake add an element of whimsy. The food was delicious and excellently prepared. As indicated above, though, where everything went wrong was in the level of service that we received. I'm assuming that it was just the luck of the draw that we were assigned a server who clearly preferred to be anywhere else other than waiting on our table. Her entire demeanor was a total contrast to the trappings of this restaurant. She actually would have been more suitably employed at a local McDonald's, and she evoked a vivid recollection of why of late I have been choosing more and more to create formal dining experiences at home rather than risk having memorable events ruined by poor service levels. She had a thinly veiled air of irritation throughout our entire dining experience from the very first moment she approached the table, and it was obvious that she was rushing us to the meal's end. A request for a menu at the end of the meal to take a photo to add to our photo album collection was met with an icy stare. After she processed our payment and received her not-at-all-deserved tip she disappeared. She was also inattentive to our needs throughout the course of the meal, never bothering to bring requested condiments or refill beverages or ice, and when she brought out our drinks she just sat them in a cluster on the table and we had to take ownership of the task of distributing them to each individual guest ourselves. It's noteworthy that our visit was in the late afternoon when the lunch crowd had long since departed and there was a scarcity of diners present. This was a special occasion in that friends who hadn't had the opportunity to socialize with each other in a while (one was from out of town) took this time and chose Frank's to make it a memorable event, and our server ruined most of that. It may have been the end of her shift or her mind may have been elsewhere with personal problems. I don't know. I do know though that for the overall price that we paid for the table's meals we should have had a more enjoyable experience than the one that we received. It seems that service levels are inconsistent here as I see some reviews praising the excellence of their wait staff while others bemoan poor and shoddy treatment. I may give them one more opportunity at some time in the future to redeem the sour taste that has been left in my mouth, but it won't be any time soon.

Amazing Mediterranean food! Marsele (sp?) the chef puts a new flare into traditional Greek food and the results are spectacular! My son had the Angus aged meat that melted in your mouth...quoting him it was "Perfect!" My younger son said, " He almost cried it was so good." Lol! The (spinach pie) was as good if not better than our yai yai's. Overall outstanding service and food. We highly recommend it.

It's not really Mediterranean but more American. We started out at the bar while we waited for our table and had a couple of Heinekens. I had high hopes because the restaurant is always crowded and reservations are suggested. After we were seated, we decided to try the stuffed tilapia for our main course. We chose the garden salad with the homemade raspberry vinaigrette instead of the Greek. From what I could tell, the main difference between the garden and the Greek salad is that feta cheese is sprinkled on the Greek salad. It was nothing special. The stuffed tilapia was okay. A little too much sauce. Our waitress was fine but a little too "in your face". We got the dessert, a white chocolate raspberry torte, to go. I'm glad we did, because the dessert was actually the best part of the meal! The view from our table was lovely. Unfortunately, I'm really not that impressed with the food. This place isn't worth the wait nor the expense, especially when we live so close to Atlanta. Too many other places to try, so won't be going back.

I find it funny how... I left a bad review & it was deleted... on top of that you guys have so many bad reviews that people find helpful, but you're still rated with 4 stars? Stop calling Yelp to delete your bad reviews and improve your customer service. :)

The sign says 'Mediterranean food' but there's no Mediterranean food on the menu. The food is bland, kinda like hospital food. The salmon is frozen not fresh. Not everyone can tell the difference. Won't go back. The restaurant looks nice but the food isn't worth it.

Food was fairly good and the service could have been a bit faster and more attentive but not over-bearing. But something about the place made me feel like it should be much better.

After discussing it with the other 3 in my party we ended up giving it a 3 star. I struggle with that. Bottom line is lots of places make great food. Few give solid service, and even fewer give great service. The service was reminiscent of a cheap pub. In that they'll keep your glass full and take forever on anything else. They had an assistant waiter and it still took way too long for simple things like the first drink, the salads, the check, the check picked up, and finally the receipt to sign. Is the food good: yes. Would I go back: probably not.

I gave it a very warm star for the beautiful interior and the scenery. One and and half hours from door to entree, and that was with one of us ordering off of the kids' menu - just far too long. This was on a weeknight, with many empty tables. The hostess was very friendly and welcoming, the waitstaff was polite, but slow, and the runners were slow and a little confused, asking around to find out where to deliver food. The look of the place really raised our expectations, but it was all downhill after we got seated. The server took our orders, but kept turning around to then take the orders of a distracted table of five next to us instead of putting our orders in, so the wait was super long. My parents, who couldn't hear an explosion if they tried, were asked if they wanted a salad. They both requested blue cheese, which they like, but were never warned this would add $12 to the $133 bill. The eggplant was bitter and mushy, as if it had never been salted and dried, and although two of us ordered it, one was weirdly sent out with carrots filling in the spaces between the four slices of eggplant, since one order was cut from the small end of the eggplant. Why you would send those out to the same table, I just don't know. The veal marsala had a misleading dark sauce - no flavor. The Greek rice was bland and uninteresting. The kid's fettucine alfredo was soft and overcooked. There can't be anyone paying close attention to this food as it goes out the kitchen door - this is food meant for drunken masses, not singular tables of people going out for a special evening. Don't waste your time.

Usually VERY happy with this place, until our day BEFORE valentine's day date.... We had reservations for 8:30, showed up at 8 to have some drinks at the bar first. My husband paid for those instead of transferring to our table because he wanted to make sure the tender got a tip. We were seated at 9:15. Nothing until 10! Salad came before appetizer, both of which were rushed and half assed. 10:30 rolls around and we start logging complaints. Nothing came around. Our baby sitter was only free until 11 so we had to leave. They didn't offer us anything to compensate. We didn't pay for the dinner salads or app, but we also didn't get anything else after we sat down (no drinks, no bread, etc). It was totally ridiculous. I complained to the manager and all he did was take my phone number?! Clearly to get me to go away. And considering our sitter situation, we had to bail. So sad and disappointed. We've been to this place before, totally love it and have had really good gleaming "wow that's the best service I've ever had", service. This was AWFUL. Fix it. Make it right. We are the parents of young boys and go out but once in a blue moon, and when we do, we chose Frank's. Guess not anymore.

Enjoyed a seafood pasta with a glass of white wine for bunch. What a delight this meal truly was, great service, friendly staff, tasteful food and a nice location near the lake.

Food is decent nothing incredible and yet over priced of course. It does have an interesting location being on a small lake with a small dam you can check out. The staff is well, young adults with not much, if any experience in customer service far beyond McDonald's typically. It does a one large room if you wanted to have a party (in which we were there for) but the A/C was either not working or not working well as it was stuffy and somewhat similar to a dry sauna. The Bartender is cocky and seemed to hate the world in general, as she poured my beer in a wine glass as they were 'short' on glasses or dirty, wasn't quite sure which. The Manager was never around, nor available, perhaps on the kitchen entrance area (which is visible from the parking lot) smoking with half the staff. So you basically you want to just spend your money for the heck of it, I highly suggest going. Otherwise, drive a little further into Atlanta and actually enjoy some incredible food!

Love it! I live in DC area where we have so many beautiful restaurants to choose from. This place is one of my favorites. The food delicious, it's ambiance is cozy and beautiful. Our waiter Sven had a wonderful catching attitude that made our evening worth while! We had a great time and I am so happy with our experience at Franks. I will be going back very soon and urge you to check it out for yourself. If he's around ask for Sven you won't be disappointed.

As we entered for lunch, we immediately most incredible ambience. This was characterized by dimly lit setting and a well laid-out bar, accented with a hammered copper. The establishment was busy but nothing near congested. Next came Devin. So this guy was great part of our experience at Franks. He was not only entirely knowledgeable of the menu, he was a showman. Accompanying his flare for the menu items, specials and incredible suggestions - he can definitely tie a tie. He wore a difficult knot, known as the Eldredge Knot. If you're not sure what this is, you should really really Google it. Just another addition to display his sophistication. Continuing on our meals were fantastic. I had chicken Alfredo topped with bacon as suggested by Devin. Others had very salads meatloaf, while two of us selected chicken Alfredo. Everything was fantastic, and the portion sizes were rather large, and priced lower than I expected. As we left were fairly full. However we still opted to take home a slice of carrot cake and a massive slice of chocolate cake. Once again excellent suggestions by Sir Devin. Overall service was fantastic the food was delicious and the experience was wonderful. We look forward to coming back next time. Thanks for everything.

I so badly want to love Frank's but it's just such a mixed bag. We have been several times and, when they are on target, it doesn't get much better. Their prime rib can be the best around. The problem is with consistency. The servers are generally very friendly and attentive, but not so very organized. This last trip we had to wait over an hour from the time we placed our order until the food came. The clam chowder could have been great but was way to salty, and there was something funky with the cheddar cheese on the potato-- it had just turned. Bringing this to the attention of the servers, I would expect somebody in the kitchen to verify these findings (which were plainly obvious; our group isn't the pickiest in the world -- these were obvious problems), but the issues were never acknowledge... more of same bad stuff was brought out. High points are Alfredo sauce and prime rib (horseradish is the best!) Low points are consistency and timeliness.

The service here is excellent. It's a cozy romantic restaurant, I felt a little silly coming alone but what the heck they gave me the both I requested in a sequestered corner and I liked it there. I thought the food was over priced though. I got the lobster shrimp scampi and it lacked bold flavors. It was still tasty, but I wish I would've ordered something else. And like I said, it seemed expensive to me so I had high expectations. I also had the broccoli cheese soup, that was exceptional, nice and thick and creamy, a very hearty soup. The breadsticks are pretty good too but they didn't offer a to-go bag for the leftovers (bummer).

One star for blowing our Valentines Day plans tonight. Got there to find an hour+ wait on our reservation and a very long line of disappointed folks. Not sure we will ever return. How could they screw up such a big night?! Totally left us stranded, but Thai Jasmine down the road worked to save the night.

Great spot -- food quality, presentation & portion were spot on! Service at the bar (Jason?) was exceptional. Server & chef were very accommodating for my Gluten Allergy. I had the chicken piccata & it was refreshingly delicate & flavorful. My husband had the chicken Parmesan & he was impressed (hearty yet elegant). Even GF chocolate layer cake for dessert!! Atmosphere was classy comfortable for date night, nice family dinner, or a more formal date inside & quaint nature outside. This was our first time here & we will count it as one of our best meals out since moving to the Newnan/PTC/Fayetteville area! We will be back even with our more discriminating family & friends

Wow very impressed with everything about this place. I had the Calamari, new England clan chowder, and for my entree I indulged on alfredo with lobster and shrimp!! It was great. The people around us were also amazing very good service and couldn't ask for a better go to dinner place.

Franks is THEE restaurant in Fayette County. I was so happy to find such great flavors and ambiance so close to home. The atmosphere is amazing and relaxingly rustic. I had the ribeye. It was worth every penny and cooked to perfection (medium). My mom had the veal and it was equally executed. My wife had the fried pork chops and she was extremely happy (even at a picky 9 months pregnant). Even my daughter's dish (chicken fingers and fries) was above what you'd find elsewhere and prepared with care. We had eaten at rays on the river a month or so ago. It was twice as expensive and half as good. Franks would be worth the drive no matter which side of town you stay on. The service was also delightful. I can't say enough pleasant things.

Seems to be consistent. Food is good. The place is really unique. Atmosphere during the winter is like a ski chalet with the big fireplace in the front. The have some private rooms for gatherings. Great back deck with a view of the lake. Parking is a bit tricky coming in and out.

I've been here several times now, with my buddy and his family, and it's been great every time. The owner and his staff are very friendly, the wine pours are generous, and the food is always excellent. I live up in Gwinnett County, but try to eat here whenever I come down for a visit. Great steaks, but had the penne Rosa last night, which was absolutely delicious.

Incredible! One of the best restaurants on the South side of Atlanta. I love the staff here at Frank's. You're servers treat you like royalty. They are prompt and are quick to serve. They think a step ahead, removing unused plates, always bring new silverware, and a new glass instead of a refill. At Frank's you have multiple servers that truly do serve. The calamari is a must at Frank's, simply delicious. Unlimited refills on soups and salad so you get your fill. I've had several dishes, from steak, to pastas, to chicken. All are great. The food is all cooked when ordered, and high quality food. If you love pasta, chicken, or steak this place is phenomenal. Steak is my personal favorite, and they are all incredible, from the sirloin to the ribeye. Excellent meat, tender, and the preparation is beautiful. The ambiance is incredible. Romantic and great for dates, and classy enough for anniversaries. Final Verdict: one of my favorite places on the south side of Atlanta. The food phenomenal. Servers treat you like royalty. The ambiance is romantic and beautiful. You must eat here.

What a GREAT restaurant!!!!! If you are looking to have a wonderful experience with amazing service staff, this is the place for you!!! :) The food is good and well priced (their lunch menu is a steal!), but more than their food, their desserts are worth mentioning... everything they have is yummy!!! I have never had such consistently great experiences at any restaurant... this place is my favorite!!!!

If you are in Fayetteville your choices are limited. Try Franks. Service was excellent and food was good. I really liked their Greek Rice as a side dish. The Chicken Piccata is a good entree if you are looking for something light. Pair them with a nice wine and you've got a good meal. Views of the lake are nice. Not a stuffy place. You can come in casual attire.

After several months of passing by Franks at the Old Mill we decided to finally make it a point to stop in for dinner. It was during the week so the restaurant wasn't very full...but to be expected for a weeknight. We started off with an appetizer...the crab stuffed mushrooms. Wow they were good! They were loaded with generous portions of crabmeat and not just filling. What a great way to start out the dinner. For our entrees we ordered the Crab Meat Stuffed Tilapia and the Linguine Clams Bianca. Again we were very surprised at the generous portions as well as the wonderful flavor. The Tilapia was covered with chucks of crabmeat in a rich cream sauce. The Linguine Clams Bianca arrived so full of clams it was hard to see the pasta below [see the pictures I posted]. For the prices at Franks it is a great place for a wonderful dinner. We will certainly return again.

In the past, the restaurant didn't do so well and closed for quite awhile; after the makeover and new management, they start taking off and are obviously doing well (evident by the full parking lot on the weekends). The food is delicious and the staff treat you well, no question about that. Its a bit expensive and crowded on the weekends but worth many more visits. On a side note: because of Steven Spielberg's new studio in Fayetteville, celebrities like Adam Sandler, have made the restaurant a favorite place to eat (the upstairs is reserved for VIPs)

This is a great little gem!! In my reviews I rate based on the category that I perceive the restaurant to be in. This is not a high end restaurant, but in it's mid-range category it is probably the best I have been too. Food is excellent and prices are great. Rustic and comfortable. Highly recommended for lunch. Have not been there for dinner. I understand that waits are long on weekends. For lunch during the week restaurant was comfortably full and no wait for seating. I am visiting from Chicago where there are MANY fabulous restaurants. This one can hold its own!!

This place is over the top on customer service, price and taste! I ordered a fruity drink (no specifics). The bar tender personally delivered my drink to my table with a small plate of fruit. That's a customer experience that will keep me coming back!

Please note new review below this one: We have eaten here many times, always good food! Burgers are great, but the Italian dishes are really good. My family also likes the seafood. Very generous servings, good service and atmosphere. The only downside is I can never order dessert as we are too full! The 1 time we did order dessert it was old and dried out. The server never should have served. The only reason it does not get 5 stars! * I hate to amend my review, but 3 of my last 4 visits have not been four star? Not sure what has happened, but we were seated in the back with a trio of servers. 2 out of the 3 visits they just plain got the order wrong? All 3 times the service was slow and way too talkative? They need to be attentive not interrupting conversations? Today's (6/20) visit was really bad - trio of servers did not communicate well, my sons meal was done when after better than 30 minutes they finally brought my burger out and it was not made to my order. Fries have recently changed and are not good at all. I asked for check took another 10 minutes as they tried to push the burger on me and make me feel uncomfortable about not wanting to pay for it! I really hope they make some changes as this was one of our favorites in the community, but after today I really don't want to go back!

I really enjoy this spot, the service and atmosphere are really special! The drinks are great and the the food have never disappointed me. I wish this place would focus a bit more on being a steakhouse. The steaks are really great, the Mediterranean side is ok. I would suggest going and getting a great drink, having a steak, and enjoy the experience.

Another wonderful visit to Franks! Valentines Day was MADNESS. The key was to chill out, stay in a romantic and good mood and let nothing bother us. So what, we had to wait an hour even with reservations.......not the end of the world. We got some free wine at the bar and watched all the angry people huffing and puffing. Then- when they left we were seated and had a nice long dinner. We had fantastic food, great service (just acknowledge that they are busy and going through hell and the service will be great!) and romantic ambiance. LOVED every moment.

Absolutely wonderful dining! Beautiful restaurant on the water. Excellent, attentive, personable, and friendly service. Affordable wine list full of favorites! Impressive menu; there were so many choices that appealed to me it was hard to decide which to order! The food was superlative. We both enjoyed a big bowl of the delicious creamy New England-style clam chowder, and we both loved the kind of Greek take on the recipe in that it had a slight, fresh, bright lemon flavor. I had the seafood newburg vol au vent, and it was lovely and delicious, with just the right touch of sherry in the rich sauce, and quality shrimp and scallops: no skimping here. My husband had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes, and it was great. Our server explained that the meatloaf is an excellent choice because when the kitchen trims the steaks and other beef for shape and size, the trimmings are ground right there in the kitchen and used for the meatloaf and hamburgers. We wanted dessert, the plates coming out were impressive, but at 53 we've had to give up ordering dessert. We were very pleasantly surprised when the check came. We enjoyed stepping out on the deck to see the geese, the dam, and the mill wheel, and had the pleasure of meeting the owner Marcel on our way out. He was tending his basil-he grows the herbs used in the restaurant. We thanked him and enjoyed talking with him and hearing his obvious pride in the establishment. You've gotta love a guy with so much obvious passion for bringing affordable fine dining to a community. We laughed when we asked whether there was a dinner menu posted on his website. He said yes, but said "I spend more time on my basil than I spend on my website!"

I was unfortunately sent to peachtree city on a business trip. With nothing but chain restaurants in the area, Frank's was the lone stand out. They call themselves a mediterranean restaurant, but they really serve what I would call american food. They have a greek salad, that's about the only thing mediterranean on the menu. I made three visits to Frank's during my stay. The stuffed tilapia was wonderful. Large portions. The sauce looks heavy, but it was a balanced pairing for the fish. Overall, it was my favorite entree. The fried pork chops were great as well. Again, portions were hearty, prepared perfectly, not greasy at all. The veal was not good, did not like the sauce at all. The sides were pretty average, I would avoid the lemon potato wedge. It was far too acidic and salty for my liking. Wine selection was adequate, desert menu was small. Service was generally excellent. Had no issue with separate checks. Service was very slow on one visit, but that appeared to be an anomaly.

We regularly enjoy going to Frank's. Food is of excellent quality and value, and service is attentive. Kyle is always especially friendly, responsive, and welcoming. This Thanksgiving weekend, we held a family gathering at Frank's with a party of 18. Amanda and Ebony both took great care of the group - they never missed a beat, and were responsive and cheery in dealing with our large group on such a busy night for the restaurant. Frank's team and food continue to earn our loyal and regular business. Can't wait to go back!

Oh man, why did I know I was going to Frank's but didn't know I was going to have to come home and post on Yelp about it... I didn't like the waiter. He knew nothing about food and assumed that a person who could pronounce bruschetta didn't know what it was as he went on about how he didn't recommend the it and how it wasn't hot. No one at the table said anything about food temperatures so he sounded like a crazy person obsessed with food temperature which actually kinda tickled me. We were also there on a birthday, which was announced when we got there and he was fully aware but he didn't seem to remember that when it was time for dessert. I think he was taking shots at the bar or smoking a doobie by the garbage can in the back. He sucked but he still got a really nice tip even though he made numerous errors. I felt like stealing his job and taking his tips cause he didn't really deserve them. The food on the menu is not Mediterranean. It's sub par Italian with no garlic which actually makes it quite nasty but I was trying to be nice calling it sub par. I had Fettuccine Alfredo. My homemade Alfredo sauce beats Frank's like Superman beat Zorg. No garlic. No spice. Even pepper didn't help. It was like cheese and noodles. Olive Garden's Alfredo is better than Frank's. My boyfriend did have Blackened Tilapia which was supposed to be Fried but the waiter messed that up and we give big-ups to God and the kitchen for not messing that up. The bruschetta wasn't bad but it was a little different with a herb, maybe veggie, cream cheese on it and slices of tomatoes on top of that with shredded Parmesan and basil leaves. The Parmesan kept falling off. I would suggest using grated but I don't own a restaurant so what do I know about falling cheese? The spinach pie was okay. The bread sticks were bland. The salad was good but it had really greasy croutons which I didn't really understand. The two glasses of wine really helped to make sure I didn't have Frank's make me too sad but it was really disappointing being that I read it was a "destination" restaurant which ended up being a bland food hell. Frank's stinks unless the only place you ever eaten noodles at is Honey Boo Boo's house.

Simply put...terrific meal, terrific location, terrific service. Get there a bit ahead of time to have a cocktail and enjoy their hammered copper bar. We had a big group and they handled us effortlessly (our server Josh was terrific). Between the ten of us I think we pretty much had every appetizer, entree, and dessert, and all was great. Whatever you do, make sure you leave room for the desserts. Franks on the top of my 'must revisit' list.

I wanted to like this place but I did not. I was there with a group of people. Most of our dishes including mine was served lukewarm. My filet mignon and salmon were bland. The filet was tough, too tough for filet mignon. The salmon was dry. It was not worth the $30 I paid for my meal. My mother did not like her steak and then the manager brought her a second one. She said the second steak was much better, very tasty and tender. When she sliced it, it sliced like warm butter. Maybe we went there on a bad day and time. There were a lot of people there and I was wondering if their food was just like ours. Well, I might give it another chance.

On a recent visit to the area, I visited Franks with my entire family. The place is really pretty and I was immediately impressed by the attention to detail in the decorating. The bar was impressively stocked too, so I felt like we were in good hands. The food is were everything went a rye. Three steaks, none of them even close to temperature. They were all raw in the middle and two of them went back, one of them went back a third time. Three days later and I'm trying to wrap my mind around how they made a steak rare on one side and charred on the other. I've never seen steaks cooked so ineptly; they really need to invest in a meat thermometer if the skill of the kitchen isn't high enough to know what those temperatures should be. I kept seeing the cook pop out of the kitchen and I wished he were giving more attention to the food and less to the diners because maybe it would have been done right. The service was decent all-in-all and the waiter took the steak back the last two times without my asking because he could tell by looking at it when I cut it that it wasn't right. They ultimately took it off of my bill and I went home hungry. It's a really cute place and I hesitated to write this review because I really wanted to like it. The italian style dishes the rest of the family ordered seemed to go over well, so I'd give it another chance if I was in the mood for anything other than a steak

I would have to say this was the best dining experience yet! All around perfect. From the moment of walking in the door we were greeted by a very friendly waiter. Approaching the bar, we noticed s really cool bar top and we were easily identified as visitors. (Amazed by the cool bar) We were trying to choose a wine and the bartender gave us a sample of his recommendation. 14 Hands Merlot. Excellent wine! We waited about 10 minutes for a seat (not long at all). We were waited on by a team of two; a waiter and waitress and the service was perfect. The waitress knew the menu inside and out including the daily specials. She recommended her favorites, which we went with and there was No disappointment! Seared prime rib with garlic and a rosemary rub and strip medallions. Both were cooked just right! The atmosphere is very relaxed but the service is perfect. I would Highly recommend dining here, to anyone who wants to try something different than the old chain restaurant options. I will be going back! 5 stars

I took my (ex-)wife here this weekend for a nice romantic dinner (not that it helped the marriage at all), and was not disappointed (in the restaurant, not the marriage). We arrived at 6:20 on a Friday evening and were seated immediately, to my surprise. The decor almost reminded me of being inside an old ship - lots of wood, large beams, etc. We both got a salad, which was delivered promptly. The accompanying breadsticks were nothing special - Olive Garden's are significantly better. I ordered wine, which came out a few minutes later. The meals themselves were great. I ordered veal Parmesan, which came with lots of veal (three good-sized pieces) and maybe a cup of penne pasta. My (ex-)wife got a steak, cooked medium rare, and it was just how she liked it (she didn't have to send it back for once). Service was attentive and mostly friendly. Overall, this was a great place for a nice dinner. Also, one tip: they don't have Caesar salad on the menu, but you can order one.

My husband and I relocated to the area about a year ago and struggle to find good local restaurants. Frank's has been a standout for us. The food is very good and the prices are lower than what one would expect for the experience. Sometimes service is a bit slow or confused, but so far they have always made up for it with a sincere apology or comping something. If you haven't tried this restaurant, you're missing out.

Our second visit in 3 weeks...outstanding food, service, and atmosphere both times. Betheny took great care of us. Staff is well trained and managed, Best place for "Dining" on the South side of ATL.

I have been here on multiple occasions. The service fails to live up to the potential this restaurant has. The location is great, food is average (compared to the price) bit the service is just not up to par. The restaurant servers are set up as a "team"- an "everybody cares for everybody" attitude. Naturally, people see a customer that needs attention but will walk past assuming someone else will take care of it. Food is ran late from the kitchen and delivered cool, bar items arrive after the appetizer, the salad arrives before the app and so on. This place has such potential but disappoints regularly. The individual staff servers are very nice but without better management, i would rather go somewhere else.

We went on Christmas Eve using Certificates we had purchased. They had a special menu, although you could also order off the regular menu. It was delightful. They were very busy but we were well attended. All the meals were fabulous. My Veal Oscar was about the best I have ever had. My daughter wasn't super keen on the bolognese pasta, but mostly because it was very rich. I thought it was tasty. She did eat her leftovers another day, so must have been pretty good. The restaurant was decorated beautifully and we took lovely pictures as the sun set with the water fall over the damn in the back ground. I think my one bad experience at lunch a few months back was the exception rather than the rule. Can't wait to go back.

This place has a beautiful ambiance and some the nicest folks I've ever met. So relaxing. I do however, wish the food was a bit better. Bread Sticks: Good enough and all were consumed because we were starving. But very similar to the "out of a box" style Olive Garden bread. Salad w/Italian: This was actually the highlight of the meal Veal Parm: Had an of indian flavor in the sauce, probably cumin or cinnamon. So odd. I've never tasted it in a marinara sauce before. The entree was well below average Pasta Milanese: This is where it fell apart for me. Started with an Italian restaurant not knowing what the word "Milanese" means. It was just pasta with the same marinara sauce. Same weird spice. Would go back just because the ambiance was super relaxing. Really was hoping for great food.

This is the restaurant to take your boss, your grandma, and your spouse on your anniversary (with a beautiful view of the lake). Or just go on a weeknight. The food is excellent - steaks and prime rib are two specialties. I've eaten here three times in recent months, and still am amazed at how consistently good the food and service are. Oh, and don't even think about passing up dessert. Cakes, canoles, eclairs, and humongous fruit pies are only some of the offerings. Go hungry. And there's a whole upstairs for groups - if you need a place to have a group function, this is it.

I usually don't eat steaks out because I'm a beef snob and I think no one does them as good as me ! :-) I rolled the dice at Franks At the Old Mill and was pleasantly rewarded for my trust. Tender, tasty and expertly prepared. I called ahead for reservations for our anniversary and got a great window table overlooking the water. Our server was attentive and exceptional and due to the event, we were treated with a complimentary dessert. I will certainly go again.

Wonderful experience. It's often difficult to find a restaurant that has great food and great service but Franks has that. My wife and I were both very happy with our meals- the food was delicious. Would suggest this local gem to everyone.

It has been years since I've been to the Old Mill. Just had dinner with some friends. The food was delicious. I ordered the Mancotti Florentine and it was so good. Most of their plates looked beautiful. The entire restaurant is nice with the waterfall next to it. Definitely one of the best in Fayetteville.

2 meals in at Frank's and I have to declare it fantastic. The service has been spot-on each time. Complimentary bread is warm, soft and tasty. The crab-stuffed mushrooms are a yummy start. My husband had steak both times (rosemary-infused ribeye) - done perfectly - with the excellent herb & lemon roasted potatoes. I had the blackened salmon a few weeks ago and the linguine shrimp scampi this visit. I recommend both. The restaurant itself is lovely, scenic, and cozy. They seem to easily accommodate couples wanting a quiet meal as well as large groups. Truly, a lovely spot.

See my photo for the Thanksgiving menu... My family went here for the Thanksgiving feast they had on Thanksgiving day. We decided to try this place instead of spending a bunch of money of cooking a bunch of dishes and buying Honey Baked Ham. Overall, we were pretty satisfied leaving this place. Since it was Thanksgiving day, they were absolutely packed. We had reservations at 3pm and didn't get seated (even with reservations) until 3:45. I heard they allotted 2.5 hours per reservation but I think people were staying well past this amount of time. The main reason is the 5-course meal they were serving. It takes at least that amount of time to even get served that much food in 2.5 hours. Anyways, about the food...we started off with delicious cranberry bread and poppyseed bread, a choice of appetizer, then had soup, salad, entree, and then dessert. The price was $25 for adults, $9 for 13 and under, and free for kids under 6. All the dishes tasted amazing! The service was great for being so crowded as well. They also were very willing to offer to-go boxes to pack up leftovers as well. I haven't been here any other time than the Thanksgiving Feast, but I will update when I do go another time.

I took my wife here for our 15th anniversary. It's such a pretty location we were happy another restaurant went in here. It was our first visit. We were very pleased and will certainly go back. I got the crab stuffed tilapia with clam chowder and green beans. My wife got the eggplant parm with Greek salad and Greek rice. All the food was very good, but the tilapia was extraordinary. We drank water but got one of their huge turnovers and the bill was only $41, which I felt like was a very good bargain. We went on a Saturday night and were glad we had a reservation. It was pretty busy by the time we left at 7:15. One tip - our waitress admitted it's not a great place for steaks so pass on the filets.

What an unexpectedly wonderful dinner we had at Franks at the Old Mill! My husband and I live in Atlanta but were in the area so we stopped in for dinner. I'll admit, living in Atl with so many excellent restaurants, I tend to have a stuck up attitude towards restaurants OTP, but we were really impressed with how good the food and service were here! Our lovely server Carmen eased my reluctance right away with her professional yet friendly service. She was so pleasant and attentive, but not in an overbearing way- I'm always impressed when servers can find that balance. I ordered the Greek Chicken which was fabulous and my husband devoured his Fried Pork Chop. I can't say this is a place I'll dine at regularly only because it's quite far from my house but I will most definitely be back when in the area and recommend to others.

Have you ever walked into a restaurant and were immediately struck by how romantic and idyllic it is? I read about the view and classy/romantic reputation of Franks at the Old Mill, and so, obviously, I brought my dad. If only I wasn't so repulsive to the opposite sex. ::sigh:: Seriously though, Frank's at the Old Mill is at the top of my list of favorite restaurants, if not THE TOP. This place is off-the-charts excellent, offering a great experience before, during, and after my meal. Speaking of which, my visit to Frank's was during lunch hours, and though I wanted to try "Frank's Crab Meat Stuffed Tilapia" from the dinner menu, I instead chose the Blackened Tilapia from the lunch menu. I also had the beef & lentil soup, as well as a bit of my father's grilled salmon dish. We were both pleasantly impressed with everything, not only the food, but everything: the location, the scenery, the decor, the classy jazz music, food portion sizes, food presentation, service, and how incredibly affordable the lunch prices are! And due to its picturesque location, Frank's at the Old Mill may be better during lunch hours than under the cover of night. I'll explain why. I have a real soft spot for animals, THE INSIDE OF MY STOMACH! Hee haw! Hee haw! Seriously though, because Frank's is nestled on the edge of a lake, my father and I devoted time to admiring the waterfront and feeding the wildlife, and my father even seemed to forget about the time constraint of his schedule for the day, which is a credit to how charming this place is. This summer weather meant that the water level was somewhat low, so we weren't able to see water rushing over the dam and turning the water wheel. But that didn't matter much. We were fixated on the geese, catfish, bass, and pancake turtles; the abundance and size of some of the fish and turtles are especially remarkable! Nature didn't intend for man to be isolated indoors away from vegetation and wildlife, and simply observing and subsequently feeding the animals was truly poignant. This memorable afternoon satisfied an innate desire to connect with nature, as well as with my father, and that is beyond beautiful. And I'm ever so grateful to our server, Misty, whom noticed my father and me fascinated by the wildlife and consequently walked into the kitchen to grab some garlic breadsticks and then walked outside of the restaurant to hand them to us to feed the animals, which were looking back at us with an air of expectation. Most of the yelpers inside the perimeter seldom venture outside the perimeter, and it's their loss if they limit themselves. The reasons are many, but a restaurant like Frank's at the Old Mill simply cannot exist inside of a large city. Frank's would have earned a five-star rating for their food and setting alone, but for facilitating a rare bonding experience with both nature and my father, Frank's is off-the-charts excellent. Moreover, my father was so enthralled by Frank's at the Old Mill that he never mentioned China during our two and a half-hour visit, not even once. My dad ALWAYS talks about China. Not this time. This time, he couldn't stop talking about how superb our afternoon was and how sublime Frank's is.

Generally a great place. I came here on business, and the night clerk at the Hampton Inn told me I should go to Frank's and enjoy my evening. I did. I had crab-stuffed tilapia that was served in an herbed cream sauce of some sort, with a side of broccoli and a Greek salad. It was all very good. The sauce on the fish was very elegant, and the fish and crab were wonderful. The broccoli was perfectly prepared, but a bit boring. The Greek salad was good, but needed dressing and herbs. I'm avoiding beef these days, but with all the nice steaks the waiters were toting past my table, I found myself wishing I'd ordered a nice piece of beef. The atmosphere is "elegantly dockside." You're on the water, with candle light and indoor or outdoor seating, depending on the weather. It's a good place for a date or romantic dinner, a good place for a business dinner, or just a good place to relax. They have a full bar, and you can get a decent glass or bottle of wine if you're inclined. Pricing is a little high for the area, but not outrageous. It would be cheap if it were in suburban New York, for instance.

I will never understand why people rave about this restaurant. I took my parents and was very disappointed. Of the 5 entrees we ordered, 3 were sent back. The seared tuna was cooked all the way through and did not look sushi grade to begin with, the veal parmesan had obviously sat in the window and the pareasan cheese came right out of a packet. To make matters worse, the chef had the nerve to come out to the table and accuse us of not knowing what we were talking about because in his words "I don't cook bad food". I was served a peace offering of Prime Rib with no sides and the plate was simply thrown on the table while the staff watched me eat. Where is Gordon Ramsey when you need him? I know many in Fayette county LOVE Frank's and even I loved the old location in Palmetto but this one is a big miss for me.

Great place! Very nice atmosphere, and the food is delicious. If you're lucky, you can get a table next to the spillway where the lake pours into the creek below. It's a nice view while you're enjoying your meal. I had the meatloaf and a Greek salad. My father had a beef wellington sandwich. Both meals and the salad were delicious. The restaurant was kind of slow since were were there in mid-afternoon, but the service was excellent. They are very nice people there. We didn't save room for dessert, but they look delicious!

I have driven by this place many times. It is always packed. This peeked my couriosity. This past Saturday we went there for dinner with a group of friends. The place is beautiful inside. Service was nice and no problems with the staff waiting on us. We were sat promptly in an upstairs room. Nice view of the lake and waterfall. The appetizers were superb, the salads great, and the sweet tea perfectly sweetened. We had a choice of entrees. I had the New York Strip and my hubby had the Shrimp Alfredo. I cut a little off the end to taste and had a hard time cutting. Well it was the end piece. It was tuff, not tough but tuff. Gave it another cut and that piece was even tuffer and not edible, I couldn't even chew it. There were three of us that ordered the steak and each person sent it back. I don't blame the restaurant, the ffod was replaced with other entrees. I haven't made up my mind when to go back but I will.

Nice people running the place. Mediocre food. Didn't have anything that even resembled being fresh. The dessert counter looked delish, but I don't do desserts. I could go over the dishes we had, but they were all sub par. Sorry, I so wanted to get some decent seafood, but it is just not meant to be in this area.

the food and service were fine enough, nothing wowed me, but the restaurant itself is really nice! if there's any reason you MUST go to frank's is for the dessert - it's basically the reason why I'm rating this restaurant 4 stars. skip dinner and get two desserts! it's that good.

I had an early Mother's Day lunch here with my family recently, and was very impressed. We chose a table on the patio, with a beautiful view of the waterfall. Our service was a little bit slow, but I think that had to do with sitting on the very far end of the patio. Our salads were fantastic, and between my party, we ordered a french dip sandwich, shrimp scampi, the fried catfish, and two different burgers, and everyone was very impressed. Everything was delicious. the restaurant is clean inside and out, the prices are very reasonable, and it was an all-around great experience.

Ate there on Father's Day. The place is beautiful and in a great location. The food was mediocre at best... disappointing actually. One thing I remember most was how overcooked the roast beef was. And the bisque (can't remember if it was lobster or shrimp or crab) was awful... it seemed to have had tomato soup in it for color instead of roe. It was just gross. And the "baby greens" salad... romaine is a baby green? The desserts, however, were very, very good. They served several mini desserts on a long plate and all were excellent. All that said, I really don't see how the restaurant will last... the food was very disappointing and the beautiful interior and romantic view won't carry it.

Second visit to Frank's. A bit hit-and-miss for our early Valentine's Day dinner last night. Frank's offered special V-Day menu in addition to their standard menu. My wife ordered one of the V-Day 5-course meals. I ordered a 'trio' entree of fliet mignon, shrimp scampi and salmon. The Good: Her lobster & prime rib were both prepared well. My filet cut with a fork and the shrimp scampi were excellent as well. Whoever was on the main grill last night has some talent. The dessert-for-two plate had 4 different items and I'm glad we stopped short with our entrees. Each dessert item was remarkably good. Again, there is some talent on staff. The wine list is limited, but also very price conscious. The bottle we chose (Irony Pinot Noir) was a solid selection for an affordable young red wine. Not-so-Good: We arrived at 6:40 for a 7:00 reservation and were not sat until 7:02. I guess it pays to be punctual at Frank's. Staff were more casual than I expected, both in presentation and attitude. The guy I think was the boss was running around in jeans with his dress shirt completely untucked. I think the food outclassed the folks though. We ordered a bottle of wine, but it was delivered late, during the second course. Bread was brought to the table around the time the entrees were delivered. It was warm, but undercooked. Obviously the kitchen was rushing. The second course (soup) was still on the table when the third course (salad) was delivered. Then, the salad had been on the table maybe two minutes when the entrees were delivered. So there we were with 2nd, 3rd and 4th courses all on the table at the same time. (There was really no rush as there was no one to take our table when we left) The salmon on my plate looked as if it had been cooked well before the other pieces of the plate. And temperature, taste and texture all agreed. It was barely warm and overcooked. Potatoes were brought out with my meal. Boring slices of spuds that didn't have any appeal at all. They appeared to have been boiled then maybe finished under a broiler, but appeared over-boiled or under grilled. I chose to focus on the protein parade instead. Overall: We went about as overboard as Frank's menu afforded for a single meal and certainly felt it was a good value. The food items that were well prepared outnumbered those that weren't. Would give them a 3 1/2 if I could, and hope they will leverage the things they are doing really well and bring the rest up to the same level.

Beautiful location. Nice to sit and eat with a nice view of the lake. Food was ok though, not something I would die for though. Suggest trying it for yourself, just wasn't me. But I am more of a simple person, so might be different for you.

The boyfriend and I traveled down to Atlanta July 3rd (from Chattanooga) for a fun filled day at Six Flags Whitewater followed by a nice dinner with my relatives at a restaurant of my grandmothers choosing. She insisted on Franks. We had a party of 6...without a reservation. My grandmother is handicapped and on a scooter...and when they saw her coming they pulled out a mini-ramp that my uncle apparently built for them...(I guess they frequent this restaurant...haha) We were seated immediately at a lovely window seat overlooking the bridge/waterfall area. Our server (I want to say Tim...but i could be wrong) was amazing. A little spunky and very personable. He gave us a run down on the specials and their specialties...and everyone ordered something different. The boyfriend and I ordered an appetizer of Calamari...without capers since neither of us are a fan... It had a lovely breading on it...but not heavily breaded...tasted wonderful. The calamari itself was a bit chewy and my 80 year old aunt deemed it too chewy...but we both enjoyed it and my grandmother even seemed to like it...in spite of what it was...haha. My Grandmother ordered the Chicken Parmesan...and when it came out it was an enormous amount of food. 3 pieces of chicken plus pasta. She barely made a dent in it, but seemingly enjoyed it. She had more than enough for lunch the next day. Next my Great Aunt ordered the fried pork chops with zucchini as her side. Two giant breaded pork chops adorned her plate and she said they were quite tasty. Again, she barely ate 1/2 of a pork chop before she was stuffed beyond belief. My other Aunt ordered the Chicken Marsala...and it had an abundant amount of juicy mushrooms. I am fairly sure she cleaned her plate. My Uncle ordered Chicken Picatta. He didn't know what capers were so I did my best to describe them. He loved the dish. Ate everything on his plate. Next, I ordered the Spinach Manicotti . It was in a deeply rich Alfredo sauce and I loved it. The pasta was cooked perfectly...the spinach and cheese blended together...melt in your mouth. I let everyone at the table sample it and all really enjoyed it. Like I said before the portions are gigantic, so I couldn't finish my plate...but I had a great time trying! Finally my boyfriend had the Cappellini Bolognese and I must say this was the only "miss" out of the entire order. He didn't enjoy the pasta...as it was a bit watery...and to me the sauce was a little too sweet for my tastes. He still left full but it wasn't as incredible as the other dishes. He left wishing he had ordered Alfredo. All the orders came with your choice of salad or soup. Nobody left hungry and everyone was pretty satisfied with our experience. The inside is gorgeous and the atmosphere was very laid back and comfortable. I would have no problems returning here for another family dinner. Oh...and for those watching their wallets...6 full dinners + appetizer was 99.00 before tax and tip. I don't think anyone can argue that the prices are not fair.

We had a delicious dinner, steak and the fresh catch. We had Creme Brulee for dessert and it was amazing! Our server, Olga, was wonderful. She catered to us as if she had no other tables. What a gem she is. The place is beautiful and after having frequented the other Franks in Palmetto, I am happy that Frank and his brother decided to branch into Fayetteville. Thank you gentlemen.

One suggestion, eat your meal in reverse. The desserts are awesome, the service is good, the steaks were marginal, the appetizer showed up late, and the soup was bland. When we complained, they said they would comp some of the meal, but check didn't reflect the statements. Ironically, we overheard the manager comping someone else. My co-workers said the waiter was cute with nice hair, and the service was attentive. The drinks were good, but I'm not going back.

Had a great waitress, Carmen! After standing around the front door, waiting for the dark haired hostess in the red dress to seat us, Carmen came over and took us right to an empty table. (Hostess made us feel bad for not having a reservation on a Thursday night...there were many tables open so that irritated me immediately.). We'd eaten here before and this time were taking advantage of a Groupon we had purchased in September; Carmen made us feel no different from anyone else dinning in the restaurant. She was attentive, offered recommendations, and addressed all of our needs...best waitress I've had in a long time, anywhere! Food is always good and the deserts are to die for. However, I'm all about good service too and based on the first impression from the hostess, had Carmen not been our waitress, I would've scored is visit a lot lower. Dear Frank's management, take care of your great servers, they make the experience fantastic!

Used a Groupon for this restaurant and the waitress acted a bit snappy when I presented it to her. She just tossed it to the side and said, "We"ll deal with that later." We ordered the calamari and the stuffed mushrooms for starters. The stuffed mushrooms were smothered in a yummy sauce and were delicious. The calamari were hit or miss as some weren't even breaded all the way! We also filled up on Greek and Italian salads. I ordered the Fettucini Alfredo and DH ordered the lasagne. We were so full from the appetizers that we just bagged our entrees to go. Even warmed up the food was good. The attire states dressy on the website, but we saw people with blue jeans, shorts, flip flops, etc. Use your own discretion with your wardrobe. Make sure to call ahead for reservations on the weekend and enjoy the beautiful picturesque lake behind the restaurant. The dessert counter displayed a myriad of awesome looking sweets, but we were so full that we vowed to make another trip to sample the pastries at a later time. Overall, it was a good dinner and the atmosphere is nice.

A group of my friends and I had a birthday dinner there tonight. The service by Jennifer was awesome. She was on the spot with filling our glasses, taking our order, delivering the food in a timely fashion, and suggesting and describing the items on the menu. The food was very tasty. They have a huge herb garden which allows them to pick fresh herbs for their flavorful dishes. All of us left with a box of food, because the portions were generous. The Old Mill is a lovely historic building located on a peaceful lake with a waterfall right outside the window. It is appropriate for an intimate dinner or a huge group or private party. They have lots of room downstairs and an upstairs dining room. The array of desserts was incredible. We tried the Old Mill chocolate cake and the Black Tie cheesecake. Chocolate lovers would be in heaven. I would go back, and so would my friends.

Best lunch that I've had in a long time, great roast beef and meatloaf to die for, tasty brown gravy over both meats. Esquisite chocolate cheese cake type dessert, attentive waitress. Will return

Awesome dinner! The staff(Jennifer) was very attentive and really made the expirence one to remember. She was thorough and explained the many choices that were avaliable. The 12 oz sirlion was just perfect. The shrimp Alfredo was amazing also. And to top it all off was the choclolate mouse for dessert. The VERY BEST resturant in the Fayetteville/Peachtree City area.
